In this world, Magic is Everything. All people, all races, are granted with the power to perform mystical and magical feats via grimories, mystical tomes granted to each and every child on their 15th birthday. Those blessed by the mana can have their names written down in legend.

[attr=class, cyrustext]Babel had always been a town that Cyrus wished he could visit more often. So often as he walked the streets he would find scholars and researchers darting about, arms full of samples for their studies and excited expressions clearly displaying their eagerness to work. Hama found it a bit stuffy for her liking, though she did at least find the place interesting to look at.
The reason for today's visit was to see his friend Zarya, who lived here. The two of them had been researching changes to the world after the Shatter, and often met in person or through communications magic to discuss their findings. On this occasion though he wanted to get her opinion on some paperwork he had found in Garret Elwood's secret study, hoping to see if she could give her opinion on what any of it meant.
Fortunately he had become much better at navigating the odd city in his many visits, and was pretty quickly able to make his way to her home. A knock on her door was followed by about thirty seconds of waiting, before he could hear the lock come undone and the door open to reveal his diminutive friend. She was dressed in her usual yellow and black outfit, hair just as messily styled as ever and sans her boots. After spending some time mostly at home, it was nice to see that somethings never changed.
"About time you got here." She said with a yawn, glancing around the street curiously. Cyrus tilted his head a bit, confused by her statement. "I'm sorry? I made it here in record time, actually." He noted. She leaned against the frame of her door, arms crossed with one eyebrow arched. "Oh really? Because I heard a Vice Captain showed up here at least an hour or two ago."
Cyrus blinked at this, and Hama emerged from his grimoire to wave at their friend. "Hey, we didn't even get here until just a few minutes ago!" She pointed out, prompting the dwarven girl to hum thoughtfully. "Really now? I figured it had to be you getting lost. Must be one of the other VCs, then." She deduced, sounding somehow interested and bored at the same time.
Another Vice Captain was here? He hadn't seen one on his way here, but then again he had made a beeline straight for the residential district. "Wanna go see who it is?" Hama asked him, already knowing that the answer was yes.
Cyrus chuckled and nodded, turning to say something to Zarya only to see her just now returning, having apparently left at some point in his musings to put on her shoes. "You're coming too?" He asked, surprised. The gravity mage shrugged as she pulled her door shut and locked it behind her. "Eh, might as well. Should stretch my legs a bit at the very least."
Cyrus smiled, glad that the former Black Bull would be accompanying him. But as they began walking, Zarya leading the way since she had heard where the Vice Captain had apparently been sighted, a thought occurred to him.
"Wait... if you thought the Vice Captain was me getting lost, why didn't you come find me?!" He asked, Hama snickering as the realization dawned on him.
Zarya put her hands behind her head and smirked a little bit as she looked back. "I may or may not have been timing you to see how long it would take... and I may or may not have fallen asleep in the process."
Cyrus stared at her for a moment, but then they both started laughing along with Hama as they made their way through town.

Items On Hand Magic Knight's Mantle Scorpion's Eclipse Strength of a Nation Puppeteer of the Current
[attr="class","haniascroll"]Even with everything going on in his life he had made sure to take note of the date, it was special to him after all. He had made sure to have the next few days cleared of any responsibilities and even removed his mantle due to it. It was something he rarely did outside of his family's estate but, for now, he wasn't a vice-captain, he wasn't a magic knight he was just a citizen. He had decided to wear a pure white hanfu without any other colour, even his boots and the ribbon in his hair were both white. Unlike normal, he wasn't wearing silk but average cotton and how he hated the feel of it. He wore his grimoire to his right side in a sealed fabric pouch which was also white, everything would seem so out of the ordinary for people who didn't know him.
If nothing else, the ice mage was consistent and ran like clockwork. He had been doing this exact same routine on the exact same days since he was six years old. Even then he never had anyone with him, it was almost as if he wished to be isolated from the rest of his life during this time. No one had ever stopped him, even if he was unwell or injured he still made the same journey on his own. On this occasion, he had started walking in the early hours of the morning as he had no intention of running to where he wanted to go nor did he feel it right to travel by carriage. It confused the staff and even members of his family why he did this at this time of year like clockwork. They would ask but the last person who tried got ruined shortly after.
There was no proof that ice mage had anything to do with it but there were speculations. His family had squashed such things as quickly as they had started and so no real thought was given to it. On the journey, he just kept to his thoughts. He was mindful of his surroundings, and step to the side if he saw someone coming in his direction, if they said good morning he would return it before carrying on. Babel wasn't the end of the journey but his midway point. As a youth, he had spent a lot of time here, even before the Ravencrest had adopted him. They still didn't care for his plight as a child but they were a little more tolerant of him than most of Clover due to him trying to learn. That wasn't the easiest thing as he didn't understand the language, but it was here that here had learned it.
It was mid-afternoon when he had finally made it to Babel, scholars, researchers and inventors still moving around as they always had. Nobles listening to people pitching their ideas for creations, expeditions, research and experiments in the hopes to find a backer. Those in this city were by no means destitute but there were people who were starting out or would even bankrupt their families attempting to do some of the things being put forward even if it did go right. He walked around the maze-like streets as if he were a resident of the city. Again, if someone came in his direction he would step aside and would say good afternoon if said to him first. During this time he never spoke first to anyone, not because he was being rude or dismissive of them, after all, he stepped aside and replied to them.
He ended up at a store and walked in, he had been dealing with this store for twelve years now and so without a word he picked up several small packages and placed funds down on the counter before leaving. He heard the elderly woman saying one day she may find out why he wanted such odd and random things and he merely replied with a solemn smile and a small shake of his head. With the items picked up he moved out of the store and headed to go to the place he trusted to eat and drink before he was going to continue with his walk.
Rank & Element: Junior ¦ Light Class & Type: Relic ¦ Accessory (bracelet) Magic Specializations: Physical Reinforcement ¦ Healing Appearance & Lore: A simple bracelet made out of reinforced glass with an opalite charm dangling from it almost like a pendulum, that gives off a dull light during the day and a bright light during the night preventing any natural shadow from forming.
There is nothing of major historical importance or deep story into where this item came from. The white-haired heir of the Ravencrest family has suffered from terrible day and night terrors since he was young and still does to this day. When asked what is wrong he brushes it off telling people not to worry it was a condition he had. He will never go into the terrible things he sees, in fact, he personally wishes he could forget he quickly realized that his perfect memory was a double edge sword and at times he truly wished he didn't have it.
His elder sister Lydia was the first to realize that it happened more when he was in an emotional state or surrounded by darkness. She also realized that he refused to sleep unless every light source he could find was active or he would sleep outside under the sun during the day, this wasn't optimal as he was to be trained to take over the family if anything were to happen to Lydia. Still, there wasn't much anyone could think to do to help him as he refused to open up but even if they could that came with a different set of hurdles they had to get over. Hania earlier in his life wouldn't take things from people due to his treatment before being adopted.
It took a while but Lydia finally found a way to help her younger brother, she had a crystal made with light inside and told him to use it when he sleeps. She said it was hers and she just wanted to see if it would help. He was reluctant but she said it only had to be a few days so he accepted. Throughout those few days, he slept somewhat peacefully so it was clear that it helped but not enough, she could only guess that the light wasn't strong enough. She realized this would be fine for a normal child afraid of the dark but it was clear to the pink-haired woman that this wasn't a normal situation.
She personally designed what she believed would help him the most, she chose the materials, their appearance even the opalite that dangles from it. As the bracelet was being made she slowly started to imbue her own element into the glass beads and the opalite as the former was created and the latter was shaped. It took close to a year to complete but Lydia seen it as something that should be done slow and steady, this was to make sure that it was done right the first time and that no matter what it would be near indestructible for whatever he may face in life.
On what is now classed as Hania's eighth birthday after a certain incident happened, she gave him a box, within it laid the bracelet. He was told to keep it with him always as she would be there to keep the darkness at bay and watching over him so he could be at peace while he rested. From that moment he has always kept it with him even if he hasn't always worn it.
