Since she had come from home to Sosshi, she had been tossed around, accosted by the local merchants for dawdling, and met with a few nice people that helped her to open upon to say more than three words. All in all, it could be said by this pink-haired girl that this was more than a success. She had come out to associate with people, she lost some of her layers of clothing along the way, and she hadn't burst into flames like she thought she would have Willow Omens sat happily on a bench in front of a cafe, scuffing her shoes along the ground back and forth while swinging those legs of hers. Humming a little bit as she waited for a menu. She was going to get more food, despite having eaten with Charles recently, Willow was always ready for more food. People said she ate with the purpose of three people for a reason.
The Havenite girl with capricious agoraphobia was calm enough when people weren't talking to her, though anyone looking closely could tell she was shaking beneath that smiling face. The face she wore, it screamed 'This is fine dot jay peg!' yeah, all in all, she was doing her best to maintain a sense of composure and not freak out.
"Excuse me miss? Your Rainbow of Sosshi Sandwich." Said the attendant, who cautiously brought over the plate of an obscenely tall sandwich. It was a behemoth of bread, meat, cheese, veggies, and a single olive on top.
There were at least seven different types of bread. Each layer separating the sandwich from another type of meat, cheese, and veggie combo. A septuple decker! She stared at it with mouth agape, eyes wide with awe-struck sparkles. "Oowwaaa This is being an enormous tower of nourishment! It is a great looking of artwork!" She didn't have Clover's common tongue down quite yet, but, she was trying.
The waitress just chuckled a little with a bead of sweat rolling down the side of her head. "I, uh, yes! Are you, sure miss? That you wish to eat it all on your own?" She asked cautiously. It was a fine springlike almost summerlike day, and she was here, eating this massive tower of calories on her own! What a girl this pink-haired chief's daughter was!
[attr="class","hanatextd"]Hanami had been sent out on a a routine patrol out in the outer regions of Clover. She only had to show herself, giving the Magic Knights a known presence, it was more for formalities than anything and she wasn't really expected to do much other than speak to the leaders of the towns she entered. As such she had just finished conversing with the current chief of Sosshi, stepping out of his house and soon found herself in the main markets of the village. She had some time to spare, which she used to look around, her stomach making a small rumbling sound as she caught a whiff of the scents stirring a little further down coming from a quaint cafe. Now that she thought about it, she hadn't had her lunch yet, only a cup of tea while talking with the chief.
Soon enough the Silver Eagle member, with mantle displayed proudly atop her high quality, but otherwise plain looking clothing found herself in front of the cafe, a young girl with pink hair sitting alone outside. Hanami would glance in her direction momentarily, something about her seemed a little off, like she was anxious about something. A feeling the permeation mage felt all far too often herself, although, she wasn't entirely sure why the young girl was feeling as such, did she perhaps not have the money to pay for her food? That was a possibility, but then why try to get an expensive meal in the first place when there were food vendors selling cheap treats just down the street?
Upon being greeted by a waitress, Hanami would ask her about the pinkette, finding out a bit about her, but not enough for her to pinpoint the worry on the young girl's otherwise happy face as she was given her incredibly enormous sandwich. The Silver Eagle mage would request a table next to the strange girl, ordering herself just a small pastry and tea in comparison to the girl's lavish meal, her lilac eyes glancing briefly from time to time as she kept an eye on her.

With the Silver Eagle's arrival, and the questions being posed to the waitress, the black-haired woman in her sky blue and white pinstriped outfit just smiled nervously, waving her hand to and fro in front of her face. She was doing her best to be respectful, but,t his person was a Silver Eagle, and it was often worse than a bad idea to go against anything that a noble of Clover asked of you. "O-oh, her, she showed up after a Black Bull was with her earlier. She ate here before, not even two hours ago, and," she trailed off, looking off at the pink-haired Willow who was still leaning to the left and right of the giant sandwich.
"Well, she heard about it and thought she could try it. I don't think she has the stomach for it. Should I be concerned about her? I feel as though I should ask her to get it to go so she can peck at it on the go, you know? Oh, excuse me, however! My name is Annabelle, may I take your order Madame?" The Waitress asked, who would take Hanami's request for victuals, only to continue the conversation if inquired further.
"As far as I can tell, the girl is from that town called New Haven. But, she doesn't get out much, to my understanding. She doesn't use the common tongue of Clover very well." The food server would comment before walking off to continue her work with other people sitting down for their food.
Willow meanwhile started to try and tackle the gargantuan meal before her. Standing up from her seat, her hands went to the top of the sandwich, pressing down on to it, as if flattening it would help. However, all it did was wobble the sandwich to the left, to the right, almost toppling over and spilling all over! She caught it however with those big eyes staring at it. Fingers clutching her chin, her other hand holding her elbow as her brow furrowed in thought. "How am I to being ingesting this food tower?" She asked herself aloud while looking at the cutting utensils she had.
"I am thinking the amount in my mouth is more than my jaw is capable of mashing." She said, trying to catch herself from messing up all of this. Maybe if she went layer to layer? No no no, that wouldn't do, it wouldn't catch the majesty of the sandwich! But, she couldn't certainly bite a chunk out of it with her jaw smaller than the sandwich, could she? No, that, that was insane. Or, was it?
[attr="class","hanatextd"]Perhaps it was the fact she felt a small kinship with the girl in regards to clover's language not being their native tongues, or perhaps it was simply Hanami's kind and caring nature. Regardless, the Silver Eagles member found it difficult to simply let such a strange one be as she watched her carefully eye up her massive tower of bread and fillings.
The pinkette seemed to be struggling with her decision on how she should attempt to start devouring the sandwich. Meanwhile Hanami's pastry and cup of tea had arrived, a rather small meal in comparison, but more than enough for her own stomach to handle this late in the day. She had always been a big believer in breakfast being the most important meal, that way she could work it all off while on the job, and relax in the evenings.
Her lilac eyes kept glancing over at the child, and she felt an overwhelming pull towards her, she had to say something before the pinkette made a huge mistake and a giant mess of her sandwich. For if she tried to eat the whole thing in bites, it would simply cause it to spill out from the back, ruining the entire thing. As the waitress passed by the permeation mage would wave them down, asking if they had a few 'pointy wood things' not knowing the word for skewers, but they seemed to get the message before bringing a few out. Hanami would then tentatively approach, she didn't want to seem nosy, or pushy, but she did wish to help the child in their ordeal.
"These help, try making..." Hanami paused not knowing the word, although she had been told the child wasn't fluent either, which meant that perhaps neither of them did. "Ah, okay if try something?" She'd ask, waiting for a nod, or guesture in approval first before she'd slowly stick the nine skewers through the top, pushing them all the way to the bottom before taking a knife and fork to cut it into nine. Leaving the girl with nine skewered sandwiches which would be easy to eat, rather than a large foreboding one that would result in a disaster.

Wilow jolted when someone new approached her and damn near knocked her sandwich over in the process of her startled moment. Someone who spoke with more difficulty than she? But, someone with the culinary curiosity and skill to help her with skewering her towering inferno of carbs! Willow marveled at it when Hinami started to pierce through the breadth of bread, making the tower more stable so it could be cut and divvied up between different sections. WIllow just bounced on the balls of her feet at this the whole time because of how amazing of an idea that was.
"Oh, that is not being something I was thinking of!" She declared before the waitress came by, clearing her throat to get their attention, "Could you settle down a little? We are trying to maintain a peaceful atmosphere here." The embarrassment and heat that came with it were immediate for Willow, who just crawled back into her seat, clinging on to the base of it while Hinami finished cutting up her food for her.
"Thanking you, I am doing. I had not been considering doing such a thing. I will be trying to replicate this from here on out."
She looked at Hinami, then at her plate. "Would you care to be joining me to aid in the eating of this? I am being called Willow, Willow Omens, by the way. It is being a pleasure to meet you." She said, her voice a bit shaky the whole time like she was on the verge of breaking and having a minor freak out the whole time.
[attr="class","hanatextd"]Hanami would smile and chuckle a little at the girl's delight, it seemed she had indeed made a wise choice in the way she had aided her. The Silver Eagle would apologise to the waitress as she asked them to settle down, it had been somewhat her fault that the child had become overeager and excitable after all.
"Hanami Okamoto." Hanami responded, continuing to smile kindly at the young girl, as she bowed her head slightly while introducing herself. A small part of her was proud she hadn't messed up the order of the names this time around. "I am full from own meal, but I can join to watch?" She'd add, honestly unsure how one so small could manage to eat so much while she herself as content with just a small pastry to appease her appetite.
She'd gently pull at the closest chair, giving the girl yet one more smile as she took her seat beside her. Honestly, she was intrigued to see if her idea would pay off and as she was thinking about this, thoughts of possibly painting this very scene crossed her mind. Perhaps once she was off duty she would have a moment to create an illustration of the young girl in front of the cafe. It was a delightful thought, but one she kept to herself for now, not everyone enjoyed the idea of being turned into a piece of art.

She smiled at the girl who introduced herself, they both had trouble communicating with other people, but the unspoken nature of facial expressions and shared musings on how to eat food, that was transcendental. Although not quite the same appetite, anyone witnessing what was about to happen was a sight to behold. hanami had a first-row seat to it. Of course, these two were star-crossed allies waiting to happen. Both shared verbal issues with the common-folk of The Clover Kingdom, both shared social cue issues with picking them up. And they both were artists.
one worked with paint magic, the other worked with water magic. One did true art in the making, the other tended to mill about by hand with coffee beans, grounds and any sort of java she could get her hands on, and paint with it. And whatever she didn't use for painting her sepia-centric stylings, she could just drink later.
But for now, with the sandwich squared away, quite literally, Willow descended upon it, she didn't eat like an animal, but she didn't eat like any sort of human or elf. Anyone watching could swear she had the appetite of several dwarves, ready to devour course upon course. And after she cleared the plate in under twenty minutes, WIllow slumped back in her chair, a happy look on her face, no bloating in her stomach despite all the sandwich she just put away.
"I am having content for that meal. I shall be making the payment post-haste. I am believing the paper money is used commonly?" She sounded as though she didn't get out much. Well, she was from New Haven, and an agoraphobe, so it stood to reason that the poor thing never really did much about anything to learn how the commerce of the nation she lived in operated, weird huh?
