Kenja entered the Star Festival grounds at the Royal Capital with a sense of awe and anticipation. The festival had not been held for quite some time due to the constant daemonic attacks plaguing the kingdom. The atmosphere was charged with both excitement and a somber undertone. As he made his way through the bustling crowd, Kenja heard a voice resonating from the stage. It was the voice of a distinguished figure, perhaps a noble or a high-ranking official. He stopped to listen, intrigued by the words spoken. Oh, it was JAGEN LAVENDER. Kenja internally kicked himself for not recognizing him right away but he was taking in by all the excitement around him.
"Good morning, everyone. It has been quite some time since we've come together in such a way, now hasn't it due to the constant daemonic attacks," the speaker began. "Even now, some of our strongest are within the Witch's Forest fighting one of the most deadly foes we have ever seen. We must remain strong and keep the faith that they will succeed." The crowd nodded solemnly, acknowledging the gravity of the situation. The speaker's words were a reminder of the ongoing struggles faced by the kingdom. Yet, despite the darkness that loomed, there was a glimmer of hope in their hearts.
"In honor of this, I decided it was about time that the Star Festival should be hosted once more," the speaker continued. "I understand that the times are still quite turbulent with the events of Kikka still fresh in everyone's mind and with the Vermilion fracturing and some of them falling into the darkness. Such things pain me to no end, and I hope that one day we will make them find justice for their crimes and that they repent for their sins. For now, we must not dwell on such things. We should celebrate the strength of the kingdom and those who serve it." The crowd erupted into applause, embracing the call for unity and celebration. Kenja felt a renewed sense of determination and pride in his kingdom. He wandered through the festival grounds, taking in the vibrant sights, enchanting sounds, and enticing smells that permeated the air.
His curiosity piqued when he came across the "Pass the Gift" activity. A group of people sat in a circle, eagerly awaiting the start of the game. Kenja decided to join in, eager to immerse himself fully in the festival spirit. He found a spot on the ground, sitting down and waiting patiently for at least two others to join him, but no more than ten. The anticipation built as more participants gathered, their faces alight with excitement. Kenja exchanged warm greetings with those beside him, feeling a sense of camaraderie in this shared experience.
As Kenja observed the people around the Pass the Gift activity, he noticed a diverse array of individuals walking by. There were Scholars with their books and quills, their thirst for knowledge evident in their eyes. Commoners, with their resilience and hardworking nature, formed a significant part of the gathering. There were also Magic Knights, their magical prowess radiating from them like an ethereal glow.
Kenja's analytical mind couldn't help but wonder what kind of people he would encounter in the game. Would they accept his stoic and collected personality? Would they appreciate his directness and his knack for finding practical solutions? The festival had opened its doors to all loyal citizens, but would his unique traits align with the spirit of celebration and unity? Kenja acknowledged his own brilliance and prodigious abilities. His problem-solving skills and knowledge of magical theory set him apart from many others. It was a fact he didn't shy away from, and if the need arose, he wouldn't hesitate to assert his superiority. However, he also understood the importance of treating others with dignity and respect, especially in maintaining a positive social presence for his family name.
Though he appeared serious and focused most of the time, Kenja knew how to find joy in the simplest of things. He relished moments of laughter and camaraderie shared with his companions, even if his facial expressions didn't always reflect it. His natural curiosity drove him to seek new frontiers and broaden his knowledge, and he appreciated loyalty, forging strong bonds with those he considered friends. He hoped to make a new friend or two here! Kenja's multifaceted nature added complexity to his character, just as it did to all individuals. While he possessed remarkable intelligence and skill, he also recognized his own flaws and imperfections. As he prepared to join the Pass the Gift game, he couldn't help but wonder if others would embrace his unique personality, or if his analytical mind and directness would be met with acceptance or resistance. Nevertheless, he remained open to the possibilities that lay ahead, eager to discover the connections he would make and the experiences that awaited him in this enchanting festival of stars.
[attr="class","augusttext"] The day seemed to be a good one… [break][break] Asahi was out and about in the Royal Capital as the Star Festival activities were going on. He had just came from collecting payment from some of his clients for training their son is swordsmanship. Asahi had been teaching kids and teens how to use a sword for a few years now, and while the pay wasn’t great it was indeed enough for him to live a modest life. [break][break] As the teen walked around, he would soon find himself lost in a crowd of people as the Wizard King would have a few words for people. Asahi would continue on though as he had no desire to listen to the older man’s words. He thought to himself *We all gotta die someday… Worrying over some demon attacks won’t do anybody any good. Besides isn’t stuff like this meant to get people’s minds off the tragic events? Eh its whatever I guess.* [break][break] Asahi would then find a spot where he was a bit out of the way, and he could simply people watch. As a foreigner Asahi enjoyed watching the people of different places, as no places people were the same. As he watched the crowd he would see a few vendors not too far off selling different food and snacks. As he noticed the vendors his stomach would let off a growl as he thought to himself *I guess I am kinda hungry huh? Hopefully this festival food isn’t expensive, I don’t wanna run through this money that I just got.* [break][break] After his internal thoughts he would begin to move his feet and walk towards the vendor as his stomach would let off another growl. He approached the man and would say “May I buy one of those buns please?” The man would turn to face Asahi and say “Sure kid that’ll be 20 yul. Be careful though they are fresh and hot.” Asahi would take the money from his pocket and hand it to the vendor, as he would take the bun on the stick from the man. Asahi would smell the baked treat and a slight smile would slide across his lips. *It smells so good!* he thought to himself just before he would take the first bite. The look on his face would instantly brighten after tasting how good the bun was, and within seconds the teen would devour the whole thing. With a smile on his face and a slightly full belly Asahi would bow to the vendor before saying “Thank you for the food!” He would then walk off to soak in the sights of the festival. [break][break] After only walking a short while he would see a blonde male, who appeared to be slightly younger than him. The boy in question had made his way over to one of the festival activities. Asahi had watched for a bit but noticed the boy went and sat alone instead of with one of the other groups playing the game. The swordsmen would put a hand on his chin and begin to rub it. *I don’t know, I could go play… Eh lets give it a try…* Asahi would then follow in the direction of the boy, with the intent to come and sit with him to play the game. [break][break] After arriving next to the blonde who was now sitting on the ground Asahi would have a blank expression upon his face as he spoke to say “I hope you don’t mind but I believe I will be joining you in this activity…” Without waiting for the blonde to say a word Asahi would pop a squat down on the ground directly across from him. Asahi was not one for small talk or talking in general for that matter, however he felt like maybe 2 people would not be enough to play whatever game this was. Coming to this thought made him feel the need to speak to the blonde. [break][break] “So umm what exactly do we do in this game? Ive never been to one of these festivals as im a foreign traveller. Any help you can give would be appreciated, especially so I don’t harm or slow down the game.” Asahi would then flash a small smile just as a sign to the younger male that he was a kind person, as he waited to hear from the male.

POST
As Kenja sat, patiently awaiting the arrival of others to join the Pass the Gift game, he noticed a young man approaching him. The teenager stood tall and slender, with a muscular build that hinted at his physical prowess. Kenja's analytical mind immediately took note of the young man's distinctive appearance. Black hair with dark purple highlights, bright blue eyes, and a fair complexion made him stand out among the crowd. The foreigner's choice of clothing it would seem to Kenja, a black track suit with a white stripe running down the arms and legs, further accentuated his uniqueness, which Kenja found rather out of place for the Clover Kingdom.
The young man spoke, breaking the silence to him. Kenja nodded in acknowledgment, his stoic expression remaining unchanged. "Of course," he replied, his voice steady and composed. The foreign traveler continued with his questions. Kenja took a moment to assess the situation before responding, his straightforward nature prevailing. "In the Pass the Gift game, we sit in a circle and pass a gift from one person to another when the music plays. When the music stops, the person holding the gift removes a layer of paper surrounding it. This process continues until the prize is revealed after ten layers have been removed." The opportunity to offer advice was welcomed by his inquisitive mentality as he met the young man's eyes directly. "Your participation will not harm or slow down the game if you follow the established rules. Simply pass the gift to the next person when the music begins, and remove a layer of paper when the music stops. It is essential to pay attention and act swiftly to maintain the flow of the game." Kenja's tone, though direct, carried an undertone of understanding. "As a foreign traveler, you have a unique perspective to bring to the festival. Embrace the experience, respect the rules, and enjoy the celebration. If you have any further questions, feel free to ask."
With his mind still buzzing with curiosity about the foreign traveler's origins, Kenja awaited the young man's response, his stoic demeanor poised to assist and engage in the shared experience of the Pass the Gift game. As Kenja continued his conversation with the foreign traveler, a realization struck him. He had neglected to mention a crucial detail about the game—the need for at least three people and no more than ten to play. It was important to ensure that enough participants were present to maintain the excitement and engagement throughout the game.
Kenja took a brief pause, allowing his shrewd thinking to quickly piece together the knowledge that was lacking. He then continued, his voice composed and focused. "I apologize for not mentioning this earlier, but for the Pass the Gift game, we require at least three participants and no more than ten. It ensures that the game remains engaging and allows everyone a fair chance to participate." He emphasized the importance of patience, considering the potential delay in gathering enough players. "Even once another person arrives, it would be wise to give it a little more time, allowing others to join before starting. It is essential to maintain the integrity of the game and ensure a fulfilling experience for all." Kenja's nature compelled him to provide complete and accurate information. He hoped that his straightforward approach, combined with the understanding of the situation, would assist the foreign traveler in navigating the festival's activities with ease. With a composed expression, he awaited the young man's response, ready to address any further inquiries and facilitate a smooth and enjoyable start to the Pass the Gift game.
By taking this perk, your magic is able to push past the normal limits of your body's speed. When using a physical reinforcement spell that buffs your speed, you can increase it by an additional 5 m/s. At Grand rank, you can increase said spells by 10 m/s. (Note: these bonuses do not stack.)
Those with this perk can lower the time it takes to regrow limbs, organs, or other body parts by a single post. At Archmage rank, this is further decreased by a single post.
It seems that those with this perk seem to find mana just seems to flow with them.
Players will gain a new Grimoire by rolling the dice 4x and picking which of the outcomes they'd want. They may add a single tier to this selection if they wish to. Note: You can not gain a platinum grimoire this way
They will regain 30% of their stats
They will start at the base gold pool
They will gain 30% of their spell pool +5 sp per rank your previous character had
They will have access to 2 of their previous items
They will keep none of their gold stars, if they choose to make a Magic Knight in the next life.
They will gain +40 mana upon creation.
If they roll a platinum they will be able to keep it even if they already have a rolled platinum grimoire character
For every post that a person is in combat, they will gain +3 m/s in their base speed capping at +30 m/s speed or 10 posts. If they step out of combat, their speed boost would drop by 5 m/s per post until they reach their base speed.
Those with this perk will naturally have their mana skin regenerate a single junior rank worth of damage a post. This will not cause the mana skin to exceed its natural total amount. Once they hit grand, this will increase to intermediate.
This perk will do absolutely nothing for you! You must buy before you become Grand rank. Once you do become Grand Rank and own this perk, it will automatically give you two extra perk slots! Patience really does pay off! This cannot be applied to NPCS!

Lex Had decided this year rather then staying home this year to do research she would go out and attend the star festival instead of just reading about it. She remembered her talk with her friend and reminded herself that she needed to broaden her horizons and meet people. After all this was a nesscary step if she wanted to become Captain. As she walked around d the festival she wore The same attire she usually would. I just that was revealing in all the right places. But not enough to draw the ire of anyone. It was a low big cut with the side of it slip open, so her leg would come out every time she walked. She found this outfit, she would be festive. As it had a star pattern adorned all around it, a sort of cosmic feel to it.
As she walked around the festival, however, she kept looking for something to do, it was nice, but she wanted to do more than just walk around. She wanted to get more of an experience in this endeavor if she were to leave her home and stop her research that she coveted. Though so far nothing in this festival was catching her eye. It was very beautiful, but it wasn't a thing that she hasn't seen other festivals. Or a metaphor she wanted to try something that would be interesting to her.
Though she glanced at a game that involved giving presents to other people. She had read about it and it mildly interested her. It was a good social game to say at least. And to be fair, that's one of the reasons she came to this festival is to be social. Though she wasn't quite sure at first. If this is how she wanted to do it, she didn't spot a group that didn't need at least one more person to play the game. She took a deep breath and decided. That's where she would go for the time being. Seeing too gentle when there she walked over to her seat.
"Hello darlings, I can't help but notice you need one more person for this game. If you boys don't mind I think I'll join your group."
She said as she then took her seat across from the two gentlemen, looking at the blonde hair boy then to the black haired boy. Shouldn't know if anyone else would be joining them for the game. However, she did want to at least start off with a good first impression. So she decided to grace them both. After all, she didn't know standing. But as a novel, she needed to be able to take lead.
"My name is Lex Krane, It is a pleasure to meet you darlings. I do hope this game will help us get closer with one another."
She spoke in a more confident tone as if stating that she was going to at least attempt to get closer with them and become more acquainted with them. Though she didn't know what the next step was. To this gift passing game, she knew the general idea but not the overall starting of it. She would wait patiently for the 2 boys to speak. Now perhaps one of them could get this ball rolling.

[attr="class","augusttext"] Asahi would listen as the magic knight Kenja would explain the rules of the game, and even added a slight caveat that they would need at least 3 people for the game to start or even truly work for that matter. So the two would continue to wait a bit for someone to come. In reality Asahi grew tired of waiting due to the amount of time they sat there waiting in silence. *I could just leave and find some more food. That stuff I ate earlier was really good…* Just as these thoughts would cross his mind he would see another person begin to approach. [break][break] The person who approached was a woman, a magic knight woman at that. As she would begin to speak Asahi would simply look her up and down as he made mental notes about her. *She must be a noble dressing like this… why I am surprised that im stuck with all the nose to the sky nobles, nobody knows.* Asahi didn’t hate nobles or even dislike them, however from his experiences as an orphan he looked at most nobles with a look of distaste. Her words sounded as if she was asking to join in on the game, however a person who actually LISTENED could hear the slight arrogance in her voice. The arrogance made these ‘questions’ sound more like statements or commands, as she was clearly intent on joining. [break][break] Asahi did not feel any sort of way about her joining the game or not, but he did dislike the way in which she spoke. Asahi thought himself good at understanding people due to his life of people watching solitude, but he could be wrong and maybe this women had just made a mistake with her words and tone. Within a few moments she would take a seat before properly introducing herself as Lex Krane, a member of the Crane family. Asahi’s face was blank and stoic but internally he would be face palming as he thought *I stand corrected, not just any noble… but a Krane noble.* He would try not to let his predisposed distaste effect his interaction with the girl and so he would introduce himself in return. [break][break] Asahi would send a slight wave towards the woman before saying “My name is Asahi… the last name isn’t important im not nobility or anything.” He said the last bit in a joking but serious way. Asahi was never truly proud to say his last name, simply because he knew nobody from this country would ever know what it meant or how strong his family truly was.

Post by Kenja Ravencrest on Jul 28, 2023 13:10:51 GMT -5
As the Pass the Gift game began with a total of ten participants, including the newcomer Lex Krane, the atmosphere was filled with a mix of excitement and nervous anticipation. Kenja, ever composed and analytical, observes the circle of people with a keen eye, taking in the subtle signs of anticipation and eagerness displayed by the others. However, despite the positive social presence he upholds for his family name, he remains true to his stoic and collected demeanor, showing little outward emotion. As the music starts to play, a gentle but lively tune resonates through the room. Several of the participants' eyes would light up, and a sense of determination crosses their faces as they prepared for the moment when the music would eventually stop. Each passing second adding to the suspense, and Kenja's analytical mind was calculating the odds of the gift landing on a particular person based on the music's tempo and the speed of passing the gift.
As the music continued, some of the players couldn't help but steal glances at one another, trying to gauge who might end up with the gift. The anticipation building, and even Kenja, who may not outwardly show it, experienced a sense of curiosity about the outcome. Despite his sense of superiority as a prodigy and noble, Kenja recognized the importance of the game and respected the rules, not allowing his perceived status to interfere with the enjoyment of the activity and that he should win by birthright. He knows that even in the simplest of games, there is always something to learn and discover. Finally, after what felt like an eternity of musical notes, the moment arrived. The music came to a sudden halt, and the gift came to rest in the hands of one lucky individual. There was a collective breath held by the players as they waited for the first layer of paper to be peeled away, revealing one step closer to the prize that awaits the winner. The expression on the chosen person's face became a mixture of surprise, joy, and gratitude but also sadness because there were still 9 more layers to go. Throughout the process, Kenja would try to subtly analyze the patterns and reactions of the players, observing the human nature of anticipation and excitement, while still maintaining his composed and collected demeanor.
As the music paused momentarily, Kenja took the opportunity to turn towards Lex Krane, the newcomer, to introduce himself. With a nod of acknowledgment, he begins in his typically stoic but respectful manner: "Greetings, Lex Krane. I am Kenja Ravencrest, a pleasure to make your acquaintance. Welcome to our circle, and thank you for joining us in this little diversion." His voice is calm and measured, exuding a sense of authority that comes with his prodigious self and noble background. Despite this, there's a hint of warmth and genuine interest in his words, revealing his appreciation for new faces and the potential for forming new connections. "Before we proceed with the game, allow me to extend my willingness to assist should you have any questions or need clarification on the rules. Though the activity might seem trivial, there's often more than meets the eye, and I find such endeavors can offer intriguing insights into human behavior and dynamics." As he finished his introduction, Kenja's analytical mind was already pondering the possible strategies and patterns that may emerge during the game. Yet, he remains attentive to Lex and Asahi both, and the other participants, ready to share the joy of camaraderie and laughter, which he deeply values in any gathering. "Once again, welcome, Lex. May the game bring us all moments of enjoyment and the chance to forge stronger bonds between us."
Lex Listened to the black haired boy who was named Asahi. While he didn't give her a last name she didn't think that was too strange. Honestly, her mannerisms giving her last name were probably more strange than that. Though she did always like when people didn't do that. It gave a bit more for her to figure out the inner scholar and her got happy. Always something new to learn, even in people. Lex Watched as the first round, the game went on and she poured up the first layer of the paper. It was a charming little idea. As she removed the first layer of the blue paper from the package she had, he didn't really earnestly have an objective in mind. Which would make it probably more difficult for the people that were trying to analyze her and analyze the patterns. She was always thankful for anything she ever got. So there was no price she was specifically shooting for. Though that being said, if she got something nice, she would certainly be happy about it. As she held the gift in her hand waiting for the music to start up again. She looked at the blonde hair boy speak saying his name was Kenja Ravencrest. A name she knew of but didn't really have too much interaction with in her days.. However, she would give him a small curtain. Nod before speaking as he offered his willingness to help with the rules.
Well Asahi, That's a pleasure to meet you darling, I do hopefully can enjoy ourselves here and I hope you get a good gift.
She says giving him a small smile. She wasn't going to try and to him unless he wanted to speak. That's not what her objective was here today. At least. But she then turned her attention to the blonde her boy named Kenja. She would be interested in getting to know a Ravencrest, though time would tell if that was possible.
Kenja, As the pleasure to meet you as well darling, I do hope things in your house are going well. Please give them my best when you see them next.
She said wanting to be polite but not wanting to push it too much. She doesn't give a warm, welcoming smile. She didn't want a forced conversation. However, she would be a fool to let this opportunity go by. But before she could open her mouth, the music would start the pass around in the circle.
There was no real pattern to what Lex Was doing she was just passing it along as she got tdumb and being as casual about as she could. Though there was still a vigorous to what she did. She couldn't help it despite being in one of the poor noble houses, she was still a noble. And she had a certain way to her. After all she believes she was elegance. As she would pass the gift after a few moments the music would stop again. And people were start opening up the next player of the wrapping on their presents. As she opened her, she would look up at the two gentleman, and start a small conversation.
So darlings, how are you to enjoy in the star festival? I must say for my first time being here it is a very wonderful time. There's so much to see and do it's almost overwhelming even for me. Would eI there of you have any recommendations of what I should try before the end of the night.
She had already researched the whole festival new and itinerary on her head. However, she also wasn't a fool. And she knew that people's opinions was much different than what she would read on paper. And if she had two sources, why not use them to confirm or deny what you've looked into. She wouldn't say that of course. Instead, she just smiled politely and waited for an answer and for the music to start again.
Post by Kenja Ravencrest on Aug 9, 2023 20:31:08 GMT -5
Kenja listened attentively to Lex's words, acknowledging her polite inquiry about his family's well-being. He couldn't help but sense a certain level of formality in her speech, the kind that often comes from nobles or individuals who have been raised in such an environment. It was clear that Lex was trying to establish a connection with him while maintaining a sense of decorum. His response came in his usual composed and measured tone. "Thank you for your kind words, Lex. I shall convey your regards to my family. I trust the festival will be an opportunity for us all to enjoy its splendor." His words held a sense of politeness and elegance, aligning with the mannerisms that were expected of someone from the Ravencrest family. As the conversation continued, he observed her interactions closely, noting her charm and graceful demeanor, even in casual conversation.
As the Pass the Gift game progressed through several rounds, the atmosphere remained light and cheerful. Each time the music stopped, the tension and excitement were palpable as players unveiled the subsequent layers of wrapping. The game continued its cycle, with participants engaged in laughter and exchange. The music flowed like a harmonious river, guiding the gift along its path until, eventually, the final layer was peeled away, revealing a beautiful trinket. As the other participants began to leave, Kenja took a seat, indicating a subtle invitation for Lex and Asahi to join him in a more relaxed setting. The event had come to a close, but the opportunity for meaningful conversation had presented itself. "Congratulations, Asahi, on your victory," Kenja's tone was genuine, his acknowledgement sincere. "It was a pleasure to engage in this game with you both. It's fascinating how even in such simple activities, we can find insights into the dynamics of human interaction."
With the festival atmosphere as a backdrop, Kenja shifted the conversation to a more serious topic, one that had been on the minds of many recently. "Speaking of dynamics, the Witch's Forest and the growing presence of demons in our lands have become subjects of concern and intrigue. What are your thoughts on the current state of the Witch's Forest and the increasing encounters with demons? Have either of you had any personal experiences or heard firsthand accounts?" His eyes held a genuine curiosity, and though his expression remained composed, the gravity of the topic was evident in his voice. He leaned back slightly, adjusting his posture in a relaxed manner, yet his analytical mind was always at work, dissecting the nuances of their responses and gauging their perspectives. The festival may have provided a temporary escape, but the shadows of these looming issues were ever-present.
Edit:
As the festival activities began to wind down and other participants made their farewells, Kenja felt the need to depart as well. He looked at Lex and Asahi with a genuine smile, his eyes reflecting a sense of fun that had developed over the course of their conversation. "Actually, I must be going now that I think about it. It has been a pleasure, indeed. Our paths may have crossed under the festive sky today, but I hope they shall cross again in the future." He paused for a moment, allowing a sense of sincerity to infuse his words. "If fate permits, and our goals align, let us strive together to overcome the challenges our lands face. Until that moment arrives, may fortune favor you both."
With a respectful nod, Kenja excused himself from the gathering, leaving behind the lively atmosphere of the festival. As he walked away, his thoughts remained engaged with the conversations he had shared that day. The shadows of looming issues still lingered, but the connections he had formed and the insights he had gained were a source of optimism. In the world of intricate dynamics and concealed threats, Kenja's ability to forge bonds and seek understanding remained an invaluable asset, one that would undoubtedly play a pivotal role in the events yet to unfold.
