Life was strange. Sumire had managed to get back into the grove of her daily tasks since missing for about two days. Even though nothing happened to her other then confusion and a idle threat, it was still a very real thing to the girl of needing to be more careful from the scolding from her father for him having to have another tend to her clients while she was away. All she had said was she had gotten lost on her way back. She wasn't allowed back out of the noble region for a small while and you know what that was fine with her. She wasn't the heiress of the family but she was the oldest and had obligations to her family as she was the only one out of the childern so far that was of age to be betrothed and wed off if a proper suitor was choosen.
[break][break] She never understood much needs as she would go with what her family expected of her, however, she knew who she wanted to be with. Well one of the few she could see herself ending up with, but those were dreams she didn't see coming true, not with the monster that was chasing her and not if her family had any say.
[break][break] Today was suppose to be a beautiful day of sunshine, a cool breeze. She had a garden date so to speak. She did have a stroll planned with someone she worked closely with, a certain someone that had actually caught her eye and today was an arranged tea party of sorts. She was happy about it along with her hopeless romantic that was her mother and sisters. As much as Sumire can bathe and tend to herself, her mother and sisters insisted and took over her dressing for the day. Each time she had some important guest or client she always had to be interrupted and dressed to fit the occasion and be approved by her father's standards. She didn't mind for anyone else, but the one she was hanging out with today. She knew didn't care for all the need to look the part, she knew in her heart he was alright with whatever she likely wore.
[break][break] She looked at her reflection in the small puddles out on the walkway of the opened sliding doors looking out into the private garden on her estate. As much as she wanted to stand out and wait, she knew better as it wasn't her job it was the servant's job. She could hear the running footsteps of her younger siblings dashing around after each other as they didn't seem to have any studies today. However, she knew that meant they were going to be nosey if not maintained. She closed her sapphire eyes calming her thought process. She was happy and nervous for today even if the rain was trying its best to ruin her parade.
[attr="class","Enlilimage"]❝Even a storm can be calm under the right circumstances.
[attr="class","Enlilscroll"]He was more than a little worn down from everything that had been happening of late that he had requested to have the day off from studies and training so that he could just rest and recover. His father was not all too happy about the request but he knew his son wouldn't dare ask for such a thing unless he truly required it. He had a physician check his son over who complied without complaint, he didn't see the point of doing such a thing, after all, the doctor would reinforce his need for what he was asking for. It was bothersome that he needed to go through this song and dance every time he wanted a day off. He understood that he had responsibilities and family burdens that he needed to tend to but he found it unfair that none of his sisters had to deal with it to the same extent he did.
The doctor found exactly what he knew he was going to find, he was pushing his physical and mental limits and so informed his father that he should be given two weeks to recover. He knew that his father would never allow him to rest that long, it was coming up to the social season and so it meant that he would be attending balls, dances and any other social thing that would be put on his calendar. Once the doctor left he knelt placing his hands on his knees and bowed his head silently looking at the floor awaiting his father's decision silently. He knew better than to speak before he was spoken to by his father especially when he was asking for such a favor. Although only a few minutes had passed it honestly felt like hours, soon enough he was told to raise his head.
He did without question and looked at the man who was now towering over him, he wanted to shrink but remained completely still. He knew this was nothing more than a way to remind him who belonged where in their family structure, it was also a test to see if he would indeed shy away. He once did but he long ago forced himself to push past those instincts. It would seem as if his father was having an inner struggle with this situation. It was unlike the family's personal physician to state he needed to rest for so long but then he was never really given extended periods of downtime normally and with the added strain on his body it was now demanding it and there was nothing his father could do to refuse it. "Three days." the elder male said finally.
Enlil bowed slightly although it was never anywhere near a kowtow "Thank you for your care father." he said his tone was neutral and his words were straight to the point as was expected. "You may take your leave, I will inform your instructors." he said moving his hand a little and dismissing him Enlil bowed once more "Yes Father, thank you for making the arrangements on my behalf." Once he had finished speaking he silently raised from his bow and got to his feet bowing once more and leaving to go to his room for some much-needed rest. As soon as he entered his room he removed his heirlooms placing them securely into their resting place before locking the box and falling back on his bed falling asleep instantly. He hadn't even bothered to fully get on the bed or even changed to sleep his body had just given up at that point.
He thought for three days he was going to be allowed to rest uninterrupted so it was no wonder that he was in a panic when he heard loud knocking on his room. He was groggy and looked at the still-open curtains seeing that the sun wasn't even above the horizon yet but it was getting close. "Y... yes?" he stood up and moved to his door opening it, he knew never to do such a thing without his heirlooms on but he had just woken up so there was no way that he would have done the ritual and rites to have been wearing them. What he was met with was his father who had already clearly been up for at least an hour at this point. "Father? I have been given three days of rest." he still sounded tired and stepped aside allowing him to enter without truly understanding what was going on, he couldn't have rested that long... could he?
"And you will be given three days of rest, however, I wish you to spend some time with young Lady Honoka" he said his tone was calm but it was clear this wasn't a request but an order, he opened his mouth to protest but knew better. He liked Sumire and enjoyed what little time he had with her in the past. She was actually the only woman that had ever caught his eyes and could imagine himself settling down with her by choice. He also knew that wasn't a choice he would ever be allowed to make and so had never acted on such thoughts. He wasn't about to complain about spending more time with her but he knew this was out of some sort of family obligation and so he wasn't getting the three days that he was told he was allowed only the day before.
"Do you have any objections on this Enlil?" the elder male's eyes were watching his son almost daring him to act or speak against him. "No Father, you know what is best." he said showing no wish to fight about it as he knew he was going to be doing it one way or another, just one would have consequences he wouldn't like. "Get ready, you leave at dawn." The elder male ordered Enlil bowed "Yes father." he said waiting for the elder male to leave. 'So much for three days of rest... still... it could be worse...' he thought to himself as he closed the door. He quickly moved to wash, dry and dress before doing the ritual and rites for adorning his heirlooms. He had just made it out of his room and to the dining hall when he was pushed by his former 'nanny' into a carriage.
"I swear if you touch me like that again you will be needing new employment." he was in no mood to be dealing with it right now especially as he hadn't rested well, he was woken up around an hour ago and hadn't had anything to eat yet. He got into the carriage and drew the curtains as a butler entered the carriage with a maid. He closed his eyes and decided to rest a little longer while they travelled to his desired location. It had taken a few hours but soon enough the maid was gently calling his name allowing him to wake as they got closer. He took a cup of tea he was given and a snack so he would be more awake and wouldn't be taking advantage of the hospitality of his hostess.
As soon as the carriage stopped the butler exited first and opened an umbrella over his young master. The maid holding one over herself and the butler who was much taller. As soon as they got to the door he would bow "The young mistress of the household expecting me, would you inform her of my arrival please." he was respectful being ushered in he took off his shoes before entering the maid and butler bringing down the umbrella's down before doing the same and following their young master until they were dismissed.
Sumire allowed her train of thought to remain on the rain listening to its melody against the wet boards of the walkway outside. Something about the rain always felt comforting to her. It allowed life to develop and grow. it never stayed in one rhythm, nor did it stay in one place. Such days are not meant for tea parties. I wonder why it was today we choose. She thought watching the puddles before the sound of clicking broke her stare and state of mind back to reality
[break][break]
"Sumire, focus your guest is here." Spoke her mom from the entrance way with her hand maid following at toe. She watched the occasional head of her siblings dart in and out of view allowing their screams of laughter rushing through the halls behind her.
[break][break]
"Oh sorry mother."She spoke with a smile slowly raising herself from her seat adjusting her dress as she moved forward bowing quickly as her mother smiled nodding in acknowledgement.
[break][break]
"Enjoy yourself Sumire, it is a rainy day but it is day to relax from the stresses of normalites. "She spoke adjusting the drooling child in a wrap on her back. If anyone knew how to get the environment to become relaxed it was her mother. Sure their father was strict in their upbringing and presence outside the family home but if there was anyone in control of their home outside the shops, It was their mother cause who else could have patience with the army of childern she had birthed and managed to keep them all in line, besides a few but that was just her bloodline showing through.
[break][break] "I know mother, thankyou for allowing us this day of rest." She spoke softly turning on her heels moving around the siblings that had decided to follow the mother duck around the home. She knew her father was most likely tending to the shop with the servants and fellow seamstresses. Normally, she would be at the white lotus tending to her own cliental and fabric inventory, most likely straightening her work area, drawing mounds of various styles or tend to her endless color theory and thoughts to fabrics and patterns. She could continue her work on various projects or redoing some of her stitching practice. She had a lot that could keep her occupied but this was something that was even more interesting.
[break][break] She moved from the back of the house to the front, deciding it was easiest for her to greet him over having a servant lead him through the mad house that she called home. Even here they were still tending to work, whether it was ensuring final packaging was prepared, final dyes and dryings were ensured the best qualities. To even the acknowledge routes of their ships and carts for either over seas trading and for the ones here in clover. Their home was also their work and having a day to rest was something Sumire was going to ensure she enjoyed this rest to the fullest. It wasn't often she got to relax with someone who was not a client or shoved into a unwanted situation.
[break][break]
She thought she was alone before her maid finally caught up to her. "Sorry for my delay lady Honoka. " She Spoke [break] "It is quiet alright, what has you tired? "she asked [break] "I was running an errand for your mother and had gotten caught in the weather so I had to change." She apologized. [break] "It is quiet alright, I am glad you are here, today is a day of rest so you are free to do whatever you wish. "She spoke [break] "Why would I ever wish such a thing?! I enjoy my time serving you and being of help." She spoke [break] "you don't have to be so modest. I have a tea party with Enlil Yinsil." She spoke. [break] "Young lord Yinsil! That is must exciting, I bet you are incredibly happy. "She spoke [break] "Of course why wouldn't I be. "She spoke as they roaded a corner as she stopped for a brief second looking him over from where she stood before continuing about her way towards him bowing low in kind. Her sapphire eyes soften before closing once they had gotten closer. [break][break] " Welcome to our home." She spoke in time with her servant. "I am quiet sorry it had to be a rainy day we get to enjoy each other's company. I had hoped we would have gotten to enjoy a very lovely sunny day." She Spoke "I hope the ride over was not to harsh on you." She said straightening up. " If you would follow me. My servant here will see to having your servants wait in a conference room with the best host experience we can offer to them if they wished to remain with us while you are here."She Spoke. While most wouldn't both with servants. It was a rainy day and he was brought here with them. He was a guest just as they were. Sumire just didn't see treating them any different.
[break][break] The maid behind her nodded resting her hand over her heart nodding. " It would be my honor to meet my lady's request to the fullest of our abilities." She spoke with confidence. [break][break]
Sumire adjusted her sleeves before motioning him to follow as she turned on her heels leading him through the massive estate towards the tea room. Passing various rooms of Looms, fabrics, servants at work in the kitchen and on occasion her mother and siblings moving through the various rooms attempting their best not to be the nosey bodies that they tend to be when her father was away tending to the business.
[break][break]
Making it to the prepared room wasn't the most daunting task, it was moving throughout the ever busy home, moving around servants and siblings as well as passing a servant accepting the scroll as she moved looking at it before re rolling it up passing it to the next one " Thankyou, see to it all the materials are sent to my work space in the white lotus please, Don't unbox anything I must do it myself to ensure all the materials are treated and thanked for with great care." she spoke as the servant nodded bowing before moving down the hall as she slide open the tea room doors allowing him inside before herself closing it before moving to her seat. She adjusted her hanfu around her along with her sleeves as she looked at him before the spread of tea and refreshments. "Please have a seat and whatever you wish from the assortment." She spoke softly motioning to the food and pot of tea.
[attr="class","Enlilimage"]❝Even a storm can be calm under the right circumstances.
[attr="class","Enlilscroll"]Enlil had remained quiet as he followed the servant deeper within the Honoka household, he heard the excitable children. He was used to this from the many visits that he had in the past on business matters. He truly hoped this wasn't going to inconvenience his hostess's family as like his own they were extremely busy merchants. Eventually, he was taken to a room with his servants to await Sumire, he was still so tired that he felt like he was about to fall asleep standing. His maid and butler were fussing over him slightly but it stopped the instant that the door started to open. He took in every small detail of her kimono, her hair, the hairpins, ornaments, her eyes and even the smile. He was internally blushing at her unearthly beauty without missing a beat he bowed as was tradition making sure his would be lower than hers as she was his hostess at current.
"Thank you for your hospitality Lady Sumire." He said keeping things formal, he was unsure what he was supposed to be doing here. All he knew was he was supposed to spend time with her but outside of that, he didn't have a clue what exactly to expect. "We could be in a storm Lady Sumire and it would still seem like a perfectly beautiful day to me with the company I currently have." he said his voice gentle as he spoke, the navigation of Clover's political sphere was nothing compared to their homelands but given their profession they could dance the dance of flowers and thorns easily. "It was uneventful." he stated answering her questions, it must have been as if he hadn't been disturbed the entire journey.
"I am sure I am in the safest hands with you my lady." he said looking to his butler and maid before bowing his head to them to let them know they were relieved of duty for now. "It would be rude of me not to allow my servants to accept your hospitality and I would too be a terrible guest if I didn't allow my hostess to take care of me." There was expectations and etiquette expected from both young nobles. "Ah... I almost forgot... my gift to you..." he said motioning to his servants who left the room following the way they had been led only to return shortly afterwards with a large wooden box before Enlil himself moved to open it. "This is a brand new brocade created from the silk of our young silkworms. I had our weavers create a colour and pattern I believed you would find appealing." he said the two servants bowing allowing her to look over the gift before finally leaving with her own servant so it could be placed elsewhere for Sumire to use at another time.
Once they had left he, himself would follow Sumire down each hallway silently not impeding her work not disrupting her family. It was like his own home in a way so it didn't honestly bother him. He stopped and knelt as one of her little sisters stopped to talk to him "That indeed is a very pretty kimono you have, I tell you what, next time I come to visit I'll bring a pretty hairpin for you that will match it." He chuckled as she ran off giggling to go tell her mother. Standing he once again followed Sumire to the tea room bowing to her before entering and taking a seat at the table. "Once again thank you for the hospitality Lady Sumire for not only myself but my servants." he said picking up the teapot to pour her a cup before placing it down, it was impolite and insulting to pour ones own tea after all.
[attr="class","Sumirescroll"] Sumire smiled standing back up listening to his formalities. Sumire understood the need to keeping things formal, there were too many outside eyes and available ways to be scolded for at a later moment. "What kind of hostess would I be to not also treat one's servants that had taken time out of their busy schedule to ensure your safe travels here. It is a wet day and one needs warmth to make it through." She replied before hearing he brought a gift with him for today's meeting. She couldn't count the amount of gifts she has received since coming to clover from the various friends she had made and the clients she has tended to. She had still a side room of gifts to go through, however she always had the ones she received from two in particular. One from the Ravencrest as a thanks for tending to their heiress's clothing herself and then those from Enlil.
[break][break] Both were cherished ones for their various reasonings cause well the ones received from the Ravencrest were prestein and made with such great quality then Enlil for her liking of him in general, both were cherished to her and always kept safely within her room for only vary special occasions. She watched him as his servants left for a moment before returning with the long wooden box. She watched in quiet awe as he opened it explaining what was inside and the intricate materials used in its making. She moved forward accepting the box looking over the items closing the lid lightly " I will be sure to cherish it greatly, it is a fine gift and one I will most likely use everyday if not for any future outings. "She spoke sweetly turning to hand the box to her servant.
[break][break] She allowed the servants to leave as she lead the way herself to their tea room. She loved her family especially when father was away cause while they were all able to be themselves at home regardless, they were able to be kids and crazy teens even more when he wasn't home. They were a lively army of childern ranging in ages. Some were in clover and others had decided to remain with their family in the east. How her mother and father manage to not mistaken them all for each other was a miracle in her books. She stopped and turned seeing one of her young sisters stop enlil as she her smile and eyes soften at the sight as she brought a sleeve covered hand to her mouth laughing lightly at the sight. She loved Enlil's softness to her siblings as if there was one requirement she had wished for whoever she was to be betrothed to, that they were kind and caring to her various siblings as each had their own quirks and while they tend to have some sets of twins from her mother's side of the family they all had the one know trait of their father, their brilliant gemstone eyes. They were always vibrant and flawless with a glow of life that had be beautiful to look like or deadly depending on which sibling and their mood you manage to see.
[break][break] Sumire knew she was going to have company from her younger siblings tonight even more then normal. She tend to have a nightly ritual of sorts having a sort of slumber party amongst her sisters and mother tending to their bedtime routines while chatting about the events of the day whether it is on studies, or expectations on a client's orders or the coming events and celebrations and who would do what if required. They even at times have their own gossips of their own observations. While loose lips can get one in trouble, they were a bunch of girls that were enjoying their bonding time, you couldn't fault them.
[break][break] She made it tot the tea room allowing him in allowing the door to remain open. As much as she would prefer privacy, there was none with her siblings around let alone their traditions to allowing such wants. She made it to her seat adjusting herself before sitting down thanking him for her cup. "It is my pleasure. While I wasn't sure if we were going to be having any company today given the weather and father being out of the house on a business trip. I am sure mother had her reasons for requesting the occasion for us, Lord Enlil. So tell me, how have you been doing since the last time we talked? I haven't seen as many of your orders as you normally do as of recently let alone seen much sight of you around town when I am running some errands for mother and my siblings." She replied in a concern tone watching him closely from the brim of her tea cup taking a sip.
[attr="class","Enlilimage"]❝Even a storm can be calm under the right circumstances.
[attr="class","Enlilscroll"]The male smiled and bowed his head "I am sure they will enjoy your hospitality to the fullest and thank you personally before we leave." he said calmly, he knew it wasn't uncommon with their families to treat accompanying servants as guests to some degree so longs they came when summoned by their master or mistress. "I, again, thank you for being a most wonderful hostess." the song and dance of formalities was one that always had to be heeded to, especially in public. Too many issues would arise on both sides if it wasn't and neither of them wanted or needed to deal with that with everything else that was expected of them. He watched as his servants allowed her to appraise and judge the gift being offered to her. It was a normal thing as they had quite high expectations for quality given their respective professions.
"I am glad you approve of this gift." he said a smile on his face as he heard her words. "I hope to be the first to marvel in the beauty that you create with the brocade, I, however, completely understand if it is caught by another's eye first." he said showing he couldn't wait to see what she had done with it, his later words were a light flirt of sorts that could be forgiven as it wasn't anything out of the ordinary. He watched as the gift was passed to her servants knowing that they would take good care of it until their lady had a better chance to look over it. That likely wouldn't happen until she wasn't playing hostess to him which he doubted she minded given how their conversations usually went with each other. He would follow his hostess at a respectable distance towards their final destination.
He shook his head at what was said "It wasn't your mother that set this up from my understanding, it was your father." he said thoughtfully. He knew while his own father wouldn't ignore Sumire's mother's wishes, he also knew it would be slim to none that his father would agree to such a meeting if doctor's orders were given to rest by anyone but Sumire's father or another male head of house. He smiled a little at her words but there was hesitation and sadness within his eyes "I have been dealing with quite a few issues that have had me change my mannerisms and schedule." he would confess, he honestly didn't want to go into too much detail as this wasn't her burden to bear but he did believe she deserved an explanation albeit a vague one. "You too seem to have been quite busy, your orders have increased for the same brocades." he would comment watching her just as carefully.
He knew that the same sorts of brocades were only ordered if there were issues with the outfit being made and unable to be fixed, that usually meant that a mind was on something else and couldn't concentrate on the task at hand. He understood this better than most when he was working with gemstones. "Lady Honoka..." he paused for a moment before shaking his head, it wasn't something that was currently important, well, it was to him but it was something that could wait until he was sure about certain things. The last thing he wanted to do was offend her or her family and it tarnishes relations between their families. "No, nevermind, it matters not." he would say with a soft smile as he picked up his teacup and took a sip.
[attr="class","Sumirescroll"] Sumire watched him closely. her sapphire eyes soft and taking in his every movement as she listened to his words feeling her cheeks get a slight bit of heat to them as she looked out at the window door calming down her thoughts " I might have plenty things planned for it but the very first thing I have planned with be for a very special person who I know will enjoy my work with all their existence." She spoke. While she might not have an original plan, the fact this item was from Enlil. She knew exactly what her first use of the brocade was going to be. It was the best quality and detailed so perfectly, it was only right her first uses was just as perfect, it was her way of giving the material the love and care that was put into it from its making. [break][break]
"I can see father planning such things, which would add to why mother and him have allowed us to rest on this rainy day, but it does seem one of my largest orders has finally arrived so that could be an addition." She spoke thinking about the circumstances before shrugging. she didn't care of the details for the reason that they lead to her being able to spend time with Enlil. She never had any issues with his company but preferred it over nearly all her clients and responsibilities put together. She would be his hostess till the end of time if she had a choice. She never could find a reason to not like his personality or not enjoy his company. Maybe she was naïve or blind but of all the nobles in clover there were a very small few she would enjoy the company of.
[break][break]
She took note of his eyes seeming to grow a bit sadden in acknowledgement of her questions, which worried her. Maybe it was his own duties being the first born son in his family. She knew that wasn't the case, she would understand if he was just coming of age or if his family had just gained the footing in the kingdom they had. No Enlil's family held more influence in clover then herself. She has heard rumors of the circle he belonged to. While she could never stand to belong to any of the circles, at least in clover, she always found it interesting how each circle handled its own. She wondered how difficult it was within the one he was in. She could only imagine the struggles and standards. She stiffened every so slightly when he brought up a notice of her own from the slight increase of certain brocades. She had her reasons for the ones she requested even if they were not entirely what she wished to tend to but the matters were not needed to be discussed, not yet anyways.
[break][break]
"yes, some of my clients had really wished for some of the same fabrics and styles even with the ever change of the various fashions between those of own homeland and the styles the tailors and seamstresses of clover decide to release. Though I do wonder who hurt this kingdom's seamstress's so much? My father has declared we will never delve into the fashion choice of clover, no matter the request or the amount offered. I do hope such declarations will be temporary and this fashion the seamstress's of clover will change to more fitting of their standards as I do not believe those dresses will ever be able to even handle one ball fully intact. Such misaligned fabrics of poor cuts. True shame. " She spoke in optimism. " Though I have been gaining some new knowledge and trials in other parts of the trade. Clover is still so interesting. Mother has even been helping some of my sisters learn of the social circles." She said getting her mind off her own issues. anything to not acknowledge her own issues was more then welcoming for her. It was hard hiding the truth of being gone for a few days or so from her adventure into the forsaken reign. She knew one thing, it was stupid and she was never going into the forsaken reign without a escort, not again.
[attr="class","Enlilimage"]❝Even a storm can be calm under the right circumstances.
[attr="class","Enlilscroll"]He could feel her gentle eyes on him as much as she smiled he knew her well enough to see the pain and worry that she was hiding within them. He also took notice of the subtle pinking of her cheeks, he was glad that whatever burden she was hiding wasn't affecting the beautiful person that she was and he knew her to be. "It is a one of a kind brocade, there will never be another like it made." he said looking out of the opened door that led to the garden "I have ensured that." he was sincere on the matter, she would be the only person ever allowed to have the pattern on the brocade he gave her. "I am glad you have many thoughts on what to do with my gift." he said with a gentle tone "I'm sure that they will appreciate your effort for them." he closed his eyes and silently sighed.
"I heard that you do the clothing for Amaya Ravencrest." he said thoughtfully about the ditz on an heiress, then again the circle was just glad that she finally came to her senses and dropped the deadweight that they had been dragging her down for years. They had warned her that there was something wrong with him and were called paranoid due to it, he had to wonder if she would think the same if she would think the same when she returned and found out what happened to the Vermilion. "I have heard you have had quite the adventure of late." he would eventually comment, he had heard that she had spent time with a few magic knights going into dungeons. He, himself had never done something so dangerous but then thanks to what he had heard and what he personally been through he didn't completely trust them.
"So this might be the reason behind the reprieve, regardless of the cause, I am glad that we have been blessed with this time together." his tone was earnest, as much as he should have been resting at home in his bed he would give it up to be in her radiant beauty just a little longer. "Ah, yes, the lower tier circles." he said thoughtfully, they did tend to have the same sorts of fashion sense. His circle saw them as sheep as they followed the crowd in fear of standing out and creating ripples. In honesty, he was quite sure if they did step out of that bubble of comfort a higher circle would likely take them in. "Let's not get into the fashion of Clover." he began, this was something he and his circle spoke about at great lengths each season.
"I honestly don't think they have been hurt by anyone, I personally believe, they believe that their customers are gullible and pay exorbitant amounts of money to be made into clowns." he said thoughtfully, as in truth he had seen so many of the circles wearing their so-called 'fashion' "Either that or they are colour blind and can't see that many of the colours clash and the patterns and additions make the clothing look gaudy." he finished looking back at her. "I have heard that you have taken western commissions in the past, however, that it was a rarity and they had to sit down with a seamstress and hash out a design that the seamstress would agree to or it was a no-go." he said his tone showed he was unsure if this had ever been the case but a rumour that he had heard in passing somewhere.
"It depends on the seamstress I have heard." he said thoughtfully "Some take extreme creative freedoms and use very heavy materials while others will adhere to what their client wants and also use lighter fabrics so that they will be able to glide across a ballroom with little to no effort." he spoke from experience on this having seen it when his own sisters decided to be foolish and go to seamstresses their parents didn't approve of. They had quickly regretted it but to teach them a lesson they were forced to wear their personally bought seasonal wardrobe instead of the clothing that their parents had commissioned for them as punishment. He had never worn clothing outside of what his own family's tailors made. They were immaculate but to him, they were still substandard to the Honoka's work but he didn't ever rock the boat within his family, it had never ended well.
He listened to what she said and nodded "A shame indeed." He wasn't a tailor but due to the fact his family did work in textiles he knew what a shoddy fabric, poor pattern or cut would do when it came to creating items from it. He had personally woven the fabric of the brocade he gave to her and ensured the cut was perfect and the pattern and colours would be to her taste. It had been far from an easy task as it wasn't his specialty but he had managed. "My eldest sister wanted the brocade I brought as a gift but I denied her it as it wasn't created for her in mind, besides, she's still in punishment." he said softly "Ah, the hierarchy of the circles." he said it was tiring in all honesty and he wished he didn't need to bother with it but it wasn't his call.
"If you or your siblings wish to join the socialite circles I can pull strings to make sure you land within a good circle within the higher tiers." he said calmly "I will warn that the higher you are within the social circles the bigger the target there is on your back." he said knowing that one all too well as he had one himself being within the butterfly circle. "I belong to the butterfly circle, they are the elite socialites and are believed to be the ones that will lead Clover in the future." he informed her, this wasn't him posturing in any way just him passing information that he was in that never-ending struggle "My sisters are in the rose garden which are three tiers lower." he said sighing "They were on the third tier but due to their fashion choices they fell out of favour within their circle and it comes with consequences." he informed her
"My circle has no need to climb but we understand the dangers of those wanting our positions and so we police each other." he continued with a gentle smile "If you want to come to one of our gatherings I'm sure I could get the others to agree, however, I will warn you, we are a bunch of mean girls to each other." he said with a soft chuckle. Their way of communication was how they vented with the stress and pressure they were constantly under thanks to their positions while also keeping each other in check but that was their way of showing they cared about each other.
[attr="class","Sumirescroll"] Sumire watched him as she closed her eyes keeping her soft smile on her lips as she found it even more precious in knowing the brocade he gifted her was the only one in existence. Such a thing was normally a meaning and honorable thing but this was from someone she actually cared about deep down, It was even more so precious now. She opened her eyes as she nodded " Oh very much so, I am sure it will be very cherished when they are received." She said in truth having one thing in mind she knew would be just the right thing. She shifted some as she nodded.
[break][break] "I have actually loved creating the heiress's clothing. Her cousin has everything detailed down to even where each embroidery and hem should be. He makes the order large but I say much much easier then all my other cliental in a month combined. Each detail and assortment of the colors and fabrics is so thought out and detailed along with the itemized list of all the hair pins, make up and accessories is so amazing. It is one I always look forward to along with Fu yue, She is always so excited and happy for such big orders. "She said sweetly as she could go on for hours when it comes to clothing and the making. Then again she could critic one's outfit for days if her opinion was to be asked, more often then not she has found such issues to nod and agree if it is not going to be something she has to consistently see.
[break][break] "Oh uh yeah, some of the adventures as of yet on my various travels have certainly been very interesting, though If I must admit, while views have been mended, I do not think I will ever be as openly trusting of many military factions unless foreseen over by higher ranking officials If I am to be honest. "She Spoke lightly scratching her cheek in nervous thought. "I have tried my hand at a few of those places called dungeons If I am correct with Kenja Ravencrest of the Golden Dawn and with Asahi Quair of the black bulls. My most recent one was with the both of them but also with Hania himself. My first ever was In a dungeon that had a lot of blade like elements, an ancient ruin. That one was most interesting to see a rare magic such as sword but to also seeing kenja's own martial arts, though I will say I never needed to heal so much as I did with both of them." She said honestly. "That dungeon was such an amazing one that honed such memories of knights and their honor within the abnormal place. "She said in excitement as that was one of the most interesting adventures.
[break][break] "I also did assist Kenja on the way to another errand with some trolls and saving a child, so that was most interesting one. Then oh there was that fishing competition I tried when ensuring all the items I have requested was brought from one of our trade ships. Oh and then there was this dungeon with sentient food! Like genuine living food that when they were defeated they became actual dishes, like there were these cute little hamster like things, about a bit smaller then Fu yue, they were so adorable. "She spoke before calming herself down "But the rest of that dungeon was such a strange one. The black bull Asahi, he was not liking the fact of Kenja wishing to lead, he even pulled his blade on his fellow magic knight. At first It was scary to think such things would be considered but Asahi seemed to not want to heed my warning of pulling a blade on an ally. "She said wrapping her left hand around the upper part of her right arm looking to the side in thought shaking her head. [break][break] "The melody in that dungeon was all wrong. I honestly felt like they could honestly make the outlaws of this land seem saner and safer then the mantel they wrap around their shoulders. I actually had to raise my voice at both of them of my own frustration and fear. "She said "Oddly enough out of that whole dungeon, Kenja was still willing to assist asahi and kept me safe from harm. Asahi for some reason thought telling me of the tragedy that befall his family was necessary to help me understand his reasoning and everything." She said Shaking her head. " Also I found I have a even bigger fear of snakes that are 30 feet long." She added snapping her thought process to a better note. " but then getting towards the end of that dungeon, he like snapped out of whatever it was...I felt as if I was dealing with three different people in one. It was not an experience that I ever want to deal with again. I didn't like the melody and I don't think that melody will ever sound great again." She Said looking towards him. [break][break] "However the most recent one I went into with Hania and the two. By the Spirits was it amazing. We went into a church and just watching Hania instruct the boys while fighting while keeping even me safe. It was a sight to see! That dungeon alone was so strange but seeing a vice captain handle two that were not his own squad with such ease, never losing his cool but seeming to know just what to say, that is how you really restore a civilian's view of the magic knights." She said in excitement. She did leave out a lot of smaller details for her own reasons and for the fact getting to the good parts was always better then the tiny details. "I also found his partner so pretty to look at but I always love birds in general so that might be a bias." She said
[break][break] "Hm I suppose that is true. If I was as greedy as them I am sure I would see it that way." She said with a smile listening to his explanation as that made way too much sense but then again she wasn't one to dwell on one's making of fashion, even if she was opinionated on the fashion of clover. She nodded "That I have, though I have more done some new clothing months before that fall of the vermillion for their heir. If I had known such things were to happen to them, I would have never made anything of the sorts. "She spoke returning her hands to her lap " However, such ill fitted clothing was not fitting and I could not allow such a thing to exist." She spoke disguising her disgust for taiyo within her disgust for the clothing he was once wearing. She hated him with a burning passion. While she did not wish death upon her worst enemy, She wasn't above hoping someone could take the vermillion out to never being a problem she would have to deal with ever again, She hasn't heard hide or hair of the Vermillion head. While some might find it a blessing, she found it unnerving. She wasn't as trusting and so forth gained a new escort, a sellsword named Shi for protection of her few days trip of confusion. She was thankful she had ensure the letter where she was going was given to her father as she was sure the situation upon her return would have been much worse all around.
[break][break] "I have done Lord Leonard's Mantle mending and a tailoring of his outfit. I do not understand how one wants only one outfit made the same as the one he wore on the daily. Though I will say his mantle has such stories to tell if it could, It was really an honor to mend it slightly. Though I think I put fear into him and harming the clothing I have made for him." She spoke with a light chuckle remembering his reaction of first being impatient to being understanding and patient towards the end. "Enlil I do have one question though, A lot of my clients know their measurements and what they need done correct? Why did the two vermillion I tended two not know of their own tailor or their measurements?" She asked in curiosity as the most measurements she ever needed to take was a seam or hemming a skirt or a sleeve at most. With them, she had to take in all their details. She was sure it was just the family trait bleeding through from the heir but she was sure not all of them needed their measurements done right?
[break][break] She listened to him speak of how his sister wanted the brocade he precured for her. It was very touching to know he stood his ground in ensuring it was not to belong to anyone but her. She was definitely set on her first project to do once their party was done. It was going to be the most detailed she ever could ensure. She watched him as he spoke of the circles as she shaked her head " Such things you really do not need to do. You already must have so much on your plate as is I am sure. You really do not have to as it is better to learning our own footing in the lower circles and moving up. "She spoke in earnest. It was sweet he was willing to do such a thing but she couldn't ask such a task on him.
[break][break] She lifted a sleeve covered hand letting out a light laugh at his comment of his own circle and the fact his sisters were even lower then him. She could only imagine how irritated they were of their little brother being above them in status. She knew somewhat of the circles and could only imagine the strain and the constant policing of one another. "I have heard such rumors of your butterfly circle. If you wished for me to, I would be willing to meet your friends within your circle. Getting to know all I can about clover is so amazing and I have learned to enjoy it for all its faults and hardships." She spoke as she mainly learned to love it cause well it has grown on her as well as the one who always brightened her future thoughts was here in clover. If he loved and cared for the kingdom, then it can't truly be that bad right?
[break][break] "Sumire." Called a sleepy voice of a tiny figure standing in the doorway of the porch. a umbrella of Amethyst resting over the long eared creatures, wrapped in a deep blue cloth. The creature was not touched one bit by the rain as it moved into the room rubbing its eyes moving over to Sumire before climbing into her lap, readjusting the blanket around her figure.
[break][break] "Fu yue? why are you awake hun. "She asked gently watching the manabeast get comfortable.[break]
"It is too noisy to sleeping alone. You weren't there. "She complained[break]
"I am in the middle of something. "She spoke as the manabeast opened one eye looking at Enlil before looking up at sumire before looking back at him before it dawned on her " Oh It's Lord Enlil!" She spoke in surprised before looking up at Sumire "Why didn't you tell me you were meeting him today! It wasn't written anywhere in the notes." She spoke getting out of her blanket, reaching into her own hanfu, bringing out a small book flipping through the pages. " How am I suppose to help scheduling if you don't tell me of these meetings!" Spoke the Manabeast.[break]
"Well uh It kind of was sprung on to me a bit today. Enlil you remember my Little Fu yue. Fu yue say hello properly. "She spoke.[break]
"But I just got comfortable and wanna be here for this. "She spoke getting up before bowing in traditional fashion "It is a pleasure to see you again Lord Enlil." Spoke the Manabeast.
[break][break] It was awkward even more since she recently found out that Fu yue has found her secret dairy and read it. She wasn't the happiest about it but found the manabeast seemed even more set and wanting to ensure her happiness, while becoming even more nosy and wanting to snoop on every detail. It could be seen as sweet and for Sumire it was comforting to see even such a powerful creature with such intelligence was wanting to see her happy.
[attr="class","Enlilimage"]❝Even a storm can be calm under the right circumstances.
[attr="class","Enlilscroll"]Enlil remained still watching Sumire's every movement no matter how small, he truly felt blessed to be within her presence even on such a drab day it felt like it was the warmest day of summer. "I am sure lady Honoka." he said politely, his voice tender and showing warmth as he spoke. He guessed she already had at least one thing that she wanted to make with the brocade if not more just by the way she had been when she had received it. He picked up his teacup and sipped to hide the smile he had and though subtle it would be easy to see it within his eyes. Placing the cup down he sighed a little showing that he was relaxed his shoulders didn't look as tense but after a second he remembered where he was and felt like he had insulted his hostess. "Please forgive me." he said bowing slightly to her.
It was clear that he was tightly wound and was expected to act a certain way at all times, his eyes were almost dull for a moment. Though he would never dare voice it he wished he didn't have such responsibility and so many burden's on his shoulders, that he could just relax and not feel like if he took one step out of line that his social and home lives would fall apart. People always think that the grass is greener on the other side, then they should try to be an heir inside a noble family within the butterfly circle for a day and see if they still think the same. "Sounds like Hania alright." he said with a soft laugh "I get the jewellery order around the same time that you get the clothing order." he said with a sigh.
"Does he inspect the clothing in advance and refuse that which isn't up to his standards?" he would ask, he knew the ice mage was a good man who expected the best for his family, they had an appearance to maintain after all but he dreaded when he got said order because not only did it take additional time to get the jewellery done but even one flaw and he would have to start from scratch, he didn't even like to think on the grade of the materials he needed to obtain each and every time. "I would rather not be working for my friend's family but we are traders and it is seen as a great honour to have such influential clients." he said trying hard to prevent his eyes from rolling. He knew ordinarily this was true but he was in the same circle as Amaya so it made him feel nothing more than a servant at their master's table.
He was sure that there were more experienced and superior jewellers, gemsmiths and geomancers in the kingdom so he was confused why he had been chosen for such a task. He guessed he should feel flattered that he was chosen out of every other craftsman out there but he wasn't, in fact, he could do without the hassle as he already had too much on his plate as it was without a three hundred or so piece order each season. "But..." he shook his head "Forget I said anything, I am letting my stress get to me." he said his tone warm, as best as he tried to hide it he did look run down. "I am glad you are excited for when you get the order." he said looking out to the rain as it fell on the garden.
"I honestly do not fully trust the magic knights I never have, however, I will say that for the most part, they seem more capable than not so I wouldn't let a few bad experiences with new members tarnish your view on the squads." he said turning his eyes to look at her. "As much as Amaya is a ditz at the best of times she is a capable magic knight as is Lord Ravencrest, Princess Hinota has quite the record too as does her betrothed Valo Stark." he said thinking of a few of their generation "Perhaps they will make believers out of us yet." he said with a small chuckle. "I'm a socialite and yet I seem more capable than those two idiots." he knew he was speaking ill of a Ravencrest but he could have seriously got the woman he cherished hurt because he wasn't thinking.
"Rare magics breed egos I've found." he had come across a few within his profession, even Amaya had one and well the less said about that the better. She listened as she talked about her adventures, she seemed most excited about a food dungeon that she found herself in. "That one seems quite interesting." he said genuinely intrigued about living food and the crazed mind that thought that would be practical. He couldn't stop himself from facepalming hearing about one magic knight pulling a blade on another. "I am guessing that Asahi was a commoner who saw it as a noble trying to keep him under their heel and not wanting to respect that Kenja may actually hold a higher rank and so should have command." he couldn't believe how foolish and idiotic some people would put their ego above all else and put the safety of others to the side.
"Seems like a criminal wearing a mantle." he said honestly "I request that you remain away from Asahi, he doesn't seem at all stable." He knew he had no right to ask such a thing, but he was truly worried for her safety, which was mirrored in his tone and facial expression. "I do not blame you at all they seem like clowns." he said shaking his head "But as I said, don't allow the inexperienced ones to tarnish your views on the magic knights." he said calmly knowing that there were plenty of good and level headed ones within the knights. He seemed confused about what he had just been told "I could understand if he wanted to share if you were close and you were in a more social setting but a dungeon? He has no tact it would seem, I'm starting to wonder if he has any self-awareness." he said his tone showing frustration.
"I think most people would have a fear of thirty-foot snakes." he said thoughtfully "And again I do not blame you, he sounds like an escaped mental patient." he said truthfully. He listened about the third dungeon "Well, that particular vice-captain has a reputation." he said with a smile. Hania was known for his stoic nature and not tolerating idiots. "Amaya has it in her mind that her cousin already knows everything and no matter how everyone tries to convince her otherwise she is adamant." he said thinking back to the last conversation the circle had on the matter "Then again sometimes what he does know is uncanny." he said giving a small shudder thinking back on situations he did seem to know things he shouldn't have such as when one of the girls of the circle had stepped out of line.
"Oh you mean the ice spirit Amostia." he said thoughtfully "Beautiful bird, doesn't know what boundaries are." he said without thinking too much about the matter. "The Vermilion... let's not get started on their clothing." he said knowing they were a fashion disaster. He had seen Taiyo and others wearing clothing that looked like they could burst at any moment. He would think as nobles that they would have personal tailors on retainer but it seemed they were still shopping at the bargain markets that were selling out of season stock. "It makes me glad that I have finely tailored clothing that fits my frame, I would hate to sit through one of those disappointed lectures of yours, however, I may just have to enact such a sin just so we can spend more time together." he said with a handsome smile, where he of course wouldn't do it he knew that his message would be understood.
"Simply put? They are idiots." he didn't have the patience to deal with such people, it wouldn't have mattered if it was a commoner or a noble but what made this worse was the fact they were nobles who should have had this information memorized. "I know my measurements and the measurements of everyone who lives with me, those who work for my family and of course my circle" This was just in case he wanted to get them clothing or shoes. He shook his head "I will not have you in the lower circles, you would end up making them cry with your critiques of their clothing." he said honestly with a chuckle. He knew it wouldn't be her trying to be mean but her pride as a seamstress would end up speaking before she could put up her filter.
"At around tier three you are expected to show some individuality while holding a theme." he explained "There are six circles on the third tier, my sisters are on this tier although given their poor decisions they are about to get demoted to the fourth or fifth tier." he said shaking his head not believing how they acted, in honesty he could save them but he wasn't going to, they did it to themselves and they needed to realize that their actions had consequences. He nodded "I host our get-together next week, I would like you to attend as it will be butterfly-themed colours and patterns must match on both sides and you must be wearing at least four bright or pastel colours and your make-up must be highly ornate." he said thoughtfully "If you arrive early I can make you look like the most beautiful butterfly in the garden." he offered her, she already was to him but he knew how his circle was.
Enlil went quiet as the small rabbit mana beast appeared, he allowed the conversation between the two to play out before he bowed traditionally to her "Good morning Mistress Fu yue, I hope even on such a dreary day you are in good health and high spirits." he said respectfully before moving into his sleeve and bringing out a purple jade bead bracelet and held it out to her "I do owe you a gift do I not Mistress Fu yue." his tone held from his previous statement. "I heard that Lord Akihiko will be returning from his long journey soon, I am sure you are all thrilled with such news." he said remembering some information he was told recently..
[attr="class","Sumirescroll"] Sumire watched him as she took in every single movement of Enlil's . He truly was breath taking to her. Every part of her wanted to be closer, to be near to him. She was sure he felt the same for her right? She truly was thankful for the time she was able to have with Enlil on such a rainy day. Maybe it was just the heavens weeping in happiness for them to be able to hang out and be spending time together, even in this well watched situation. Traditions were hard on the wants of the heart. She knew that as well as he but this was enough to ease the burden of those traditions. She made note of his shoulder moving with the light sigh only to see him tense again. It did hurt to see him unable to unwind. As she shaked her head " No no, there is no need to apologize to me. I wish for all who are around me to be relaxed, to be able to be as ease. It really helps one like me to learn about those around me, client, friend, family. Matters not for once a fabric is relaxed, it tells one like myself what it is best suited for. "She said gently with an analogy resting her painted finger tips on her collarbone in thought. A tightly bound fabric needs extra time to unwind, to relax itself to the pattern on top. " However, I understand that you can't. I hope some day you might be able to as well." She said gently to him returning to her tea cup lifting it to her mouth as she took a sip closing her eyes before she lowered it. [break][break] It was then when she spoke of Hania and the clothing order she got for each season "Yes, I always have him see the collection as I tend to get it done two weeks before the requested drop off date. My father and I always send him a request to inspect each garment that was made. While I follow his notes to a T and love all the thought process to them. I sometimes have to hem up a thing here or in this last dress examination I had to add to the bust a slight bit, which meant adjusting the length ever so slightly as it seems someone's measurements have changed ever so slightly. I never take his lectures and requests of change as an insult as I take great pride in my clothing and the skills I have worked my hands to the bone acquire and master. Learning and seeing the clothing and making the adjustments is a term of endearment. I always strive to make the best garments for my clients and I will run myself ragged to ensure I get to see a bright smile of happiness reflected from the clothing I made." She said with a smile "I am sure yours is just as detailed instructions as my own yes? A lot of some other exports of her wardrobe, we also ensure we get, from her makeup, to her shoes, to other needs." She said looking towards the rainfall outside. "When it is time to send out the order, I always go with it on his request to see that he recycles her past wardrobes for the servants or for the littler seamstresses I have been teaching to make dresses for their dolls or pillows and accessories." She said "Which just makes doing all this worth it. As my clothing and my effort doesn't go to waste." She added. [break][break] She looked back at Enlil as she lifted a sleeve covered hand laughing lightly "I can see how that can be a bit frustrating but I honestly think its an honor you know. To make something, that others will be so jealous for a girl that means something to you. "She said softly resting her hands back in her lap. She always cherished the gifts she was given, or mostly the gifts that were made by the gifters own hands. She even had the necklace jirou gave her. She has never worn the item, as it was too gody for her. However, it was there more so he can never say she didn't accept gifts. It was more in a storage room along with gifts from others that she did not wish to keep in her own room. "It is quiet fine in my book. Sometimes letting out those stresses can help ease the exhaustion I am sure even you are feeling." She spoke seeing straight through his exhaustion. His small subtle slip ups told her all she needed to know. It hurt seeing him having to hide such things from her. She understood why and it wasn't her place to really help him ease that exhaustion. She could only hope he could find time to rest. She followed his gaze to the rainfall outside as she listened to his words. [break][break] Sure she shouldn't let such experiences tarnish her views of the knights, but a seamstress like her should never be leading a dungeon with two capable magic knights no matter what ranking. "Maybe you are right, however such things in those dungeons should never have came forth. While I honestly should not have been there, I always been curious of dungeons. So many tells and stories. The mighty fights and amazing sights. they are truly breath taking" She said as her eyes soften in wonderful thought "From what I know Asahi had always seemed like a commoner and unfortunately he is a Quair. He and his siblings were trafficked unfortunately and split from each other. I have already sent a request to the black bulls captain to hopefully help asahi in better training and understanding social hints. I understand trauma and tragedy can cause one to lose themselves, but a dungeon is no place to allow it out." She said " So no need to worry. With the increase orders and additional works I have now. it must come from personal requests of those who even know someone as lowly as I to help within those dungeons. "She spoke with encouragement of her involvement with asahi and Kenja. She hoped them both the best no matter what the future held for them. [break][break] Sumire nodded at the acknowledgement of Hania "He is interesting and I love seeing all the detail and notes, all the thoughts into each of the pieces from the fabric, to the stitching, to the embroidery. It is uncanny how he does seem to know more then he should but I want to say he has an amazing sense of knowing just the right buttons to press." She said "I couldn't fault the girl. I think most of her thoughts is her overactive mind but I am sure once she finds her footing and place in what she is doing. She will shine brightly and make herself known for more then just her name" She spoke in confidence. "as for his bird. He is beautiful indeed, I would love to make an outfit from inspiration of that spirit but that i do agree, however, I think that is a good thing to have such an open companion." She added. "Reminds me of my Qui yue." She said. [break][break] Next was the speak of measurements and the vermillion as she smiled listening with a nod "Absolutely true. It is a good thing to know all the measurements as it helps when getting clothing and presents made." She added "I know all the measurements of my siblings, of my servants, and of my mana beasts. I try not acknowledging the measurements of mother and father as they wish to make their own clothing. She laughed lightly holding her hand over her mouth. " My lectures are just my opinion as I wish for everyone to enjoy clothing much like I" She said "Though I think If I must lecture someone with your style, It will be much much longer." She replied understanding exactly what he meant. [break][break] "Oh you really are.." She spoke in surprise feeling a light blush formed on her cheeks. She heard his invitation as she smiled resting her hand on her collarbone nodding " it would be my honor to accept your invite. I would love to get to meet your friends along with just getting to know more of clover." She spoke holding a hidden meaning behind her words. "Just give me a time and place, I will be there' She spoke making note of what she was to wear. She would be lying if she wasn't excited to see his circle of friends, or their expectations but also to just be able to spend more time with him. [break][break] It was then Fu yue came in , making her bed in sumire's lap as the two spoke for a small bit as the mana beast wasn't happy for the sudden guest but she seemed to change her tone quickly seeing it was Enlil as she nodded " Yes, good morning, Lord Enlil. I am in high spirits just as sumire is." She replied perking up more when Enlil spoke of a present he owed her as she held out her paw accepting his gift as she pulled it over her wrist. [break][break] She pulled her wrist back to her looking it over before she looked towards him with a excited nod " I am always excited when Akihiko comes home! There are so many presents but I love his stories of the world outside the estate. I get to see all the clothing he brings home and all the various conversations. I am always looking forward to him." She said re wrapping the blanket around herself.
[attr="class","Enlilimage"]❝Even a storm can be calm under the right circumstances.
[attr="class","Enlilscroll"]Though he didn't react to it he could feel her eyes on him, if it had been anyone else it would have made him uncomfortable but he had been stealing glances since the day they met as children. She knew it was a joke that he and Amaya would one day be wed as they were born on the same day at the same time which he just found creepy but that was an entirely different issue that he didn't want to touch. To him, Amaya was a sister and little else, if anything even if she was a ditz he preferred Amaya over his sister who had proven themselves foolish on more than one occasion. He should have been resting but she was so glad for this time with her, his familial, professional and social obligations ran him so thin he barely had enough time to do anything else.
The pair longed to be with each other, their hearts were drawn to each other as if a moth to a flame and yet due to traditions it could never be if their fathers allowed it. It was a cruel world the lovebirds lived within but they abided by the rules of their families. It wasn't much but it kept them content and allowed them the hope that one day they would be sitting like this as husband and wife, he closed his eyes and smiled a little thinking of their lives together with their children in their laps wanting attention. He opened his eyes when she spoke to him "It is still improper and impolite, I should be more mindful." he said his words were soft, even now in her beauty where he wished to forever be all he felt was tired and the wish to rest.
"I assure you Lady Honoka I am completely at ease." she said warmly as he listened to her lifting his hand as he chuckled lightly "We have known each other since we were children, if you do not know me by now then I would believe you weren't paying attention and we both know that is not the case." he said playfully showing he had noticed her glancing at him. He honestly didn't mind as there was a clear attraction between the pair. "I do thank you for your concern though and hope you will also be at peace throughout life." he wanted nothing but happiness, peace, love and serenity for her even if it couldn't be with him she found it. He just prayed to the deities daily leaving what he believed would bring their favour for the outcome they both wished for and hoped it would work.
He listened to her and nodded "Sounds like what my father does in regards to Amaya's jewellery but he does it more frequently due to how long it takes if even a small imperfection is found within my work." he said his voice calm, he hated when flaws were found his father berated him, his training increased and he still needed to restart his that item all over again which took up more time. There was only so much he could achieve and accomplish but to him, it felt to his father it wasn't good enough or that he could take on more. It seemed that his father forgot that he was still young and had limits, he understood why it was done but it was going to ensure the young man entered the grave early if it kept up at this pace. "My workshop is covered in his specific wants." he admitted to the other.
"It's good that the clothes are being used in such a manner, who knows what happens to the jewellery as in my circle we only wear something once and then we never wear it again." he admitted, he was well aware how wasteful it was but in that same vein it made sure that people had steady work, he just wished it wasn't him a lot of the time. "I heard you had tea with one of our princes." his tone became somewhat serious, he knew better than to talk ill of the imperial family, especially in a home like theirs. "I trust you had a guard with you." he said not accusing her of anything after all he had no right as they weren't a couple but he was concerned about her wellbeing as he didn't trust the princes as far as he could throw them and he was pretty sure he couldn't pick them up.
He would listen to her, she was right he was exhausted. Was his mask slipping so drastically that she could see his fatigue? If this was the case he believed it best that he took his leave before he collapsed. "Please forgive me Lady Sumire, Mistress Fu Yue. I have a cli-" he was starting to feel dizzy and light-headed, all the stress, tension and pushing himself far beyond his limits had caught up with him as he tried to get up he ended up falling to the ground as he blacked out, from out of his sleeve tumbled a delicate crystal case inside there was a sapphire in the same of a gemstone, inside it was a bubble within the bubble was a rose made out of amethyst. The sapphire was sitting on a light blue silk cushion at the bottom. When it tumbled the crystal case opened allowing the scent of a white orchid to fill the room, it was clear he had taken time to create this gift solely for her, yet, he hadn't brought it out.
"It might be improper and impolite but I don't see it that way." She said gently "I always felt that being able to be relaxed and around those you are aligned with and willing to be around was a good way to communicate. "She said gently. She wasn't hurt by him not being able to open up, Such was the tradition both grew up in. Both has always had a want for each other. it was a spiritual attraction amongst other things. She knew she could feel his exhaustion even though all his walls. She knew the joke that hung around Enlil and the heiress. They were born same day, same time. Most joke that they were betrothed at birth from such a coincidence. However, she knew from what she has seen of Amaya and Enlil that they were like siblings. They did care from each other but nothing more then siblings. She knew siblings and their feelings more then anyone. It was much like her own bond with her brother Akihiko. It was a bond only they held as siblings and a secret only they know. [break][break] Just seeing him that way hurt. She wanted to help him rest in some way even if it was not her place to do so. They weren't betrothed. They weren't married. For all anyone needed to know, they were just two childern of aligned houses having tea and spending time together. Nothing more. She hoped to be more at some point to him, for him. She hated not being able to do much of anything other then kind words holding many meanings within them. She kept a calm smile on her face and within her faces remaining relaxed and set in the facade. "Indeed I hope you forever remain as ease around me Lord Enlil, it is but a wish I hold for all I met." She spoke lifting her hand as she laughed with him "If I didn't know you by now then I must be really great at pulling the veil over all faces in my knowledge of this world and my heart." She spoke sweetly nodding back to him "Yes I hope the same as well to you and may the sun never set upon your house." She spoke in reply. She had faith that good fortunate and the Deities will hopefully smile upon them in the future. She hope he never lose his sweet smile and beautiful soul and that if he was not end up with her that whoever would grace his future and home would love him and care for him as much as she did. [break][break] "I imagine it indeed would be more for you as gemstones can't be tailored and adjusted. one flaw and it isn't fit." She said in acknowledgement as she didn't know how he handled the pressure he was under for perfection. She had it easier as all she needed was tweaks or make a whole new outfit. Simple fixes. His was more costly and unable to be fixed. "I hope you will get a workshop that is of your own. My family has recently renovated one of our storage sheds into a livable workshop I will be moving into seeing as I tend to all of Amaya's clothing. Everything is meet to my own wants and needs but a lot of it will be built to be as functional and exclusive of any distractions of the world beyond all the dresses." She spoke. [break][break] She was excited for her own personal place to tend to all the wants of each dress for the heiress, whoever the exclusion and isolation could drive on crazy, well anyone but the one girl that loved her job and took pride in it more then knowing the world outside it. Sometimes she wondered if this was to keep her more home bound, to keep her tied more to her work and her family then wander and wish to adapt like the new element that found its home within her grimoire. She knew all the dungeon divings and assisting others was not something her father liked but it did bring in more clients for the shop and what not so that was a possible pass somewhat. Maybe it was of her disappearance for a few days only to be found on her way back home in worse condition then she left. She hadn't spoke in detail what happened other then she was tending to a request and somehow got attacked, fell unconious, meeting some strange collector of sorts, escaped with an assistance of another and just headed home as fast as her feet could carry her. That was all she could remember in her daze state and to this day that was what she knew. She snapped out of her thought processes of her soon to be workshop listening to his question " That is a good question. I personally have never thought to ask Hania what happens to the jelwery and shoes but I would assume the childern and adults get their choices."She said in out loud thought. [break][break] it was then she heard him speak of hearing how she had tea with one of the princes. She could hear the serious tone in his voice. "Yes somehow from getting an invitation from Hinota and learning Ki with her and spending time with Ozma among the Star festival while running errands somehow landed me a spot within Prince Jirou's Tea ceremony." She spoke in explanation "I am honestly confused why one as I would get such an honored invitation but Hinota's Guard Junjie was there with me. I was thankful for the welcome guard as someone as simple as I did not know what I should do within such a presence of the prince within his own castle." She spoke in earnest even if it hide the fact she didn't trust jirou and was clearly bothered by even receiving an acknowledgement to a private gathering by a prince. She was sure if she didn't have family in clover as high in standing and contractions or have Junjie with her. She might have never been seen again. She truly was thankful for her family and connections as they were a good means of ensuring she would remain within this world safe from evil intent. [break][break] She watched him then stand up. Was it already time for him to leave? She and Fu yue watched him listening to his words before seeing him moving slightly trying to catch himself to stand back up before collapsing. Immediately Fu yue got out of the blanket as Sumire shot up "Lord Enlil!" They both called out as they scrambled over to his side. [break][break] "Fu yue! Quick get mother and the servants, get a doctor!" Called Sumire to the manabeast as the rabbit hopped into action going to find her mother and servants for Enlil. [break][break] Sumire stayed with Enlil disregarding tradition. He collapse. he was unconious. She pulled back her sleeve resting her bare hand against his forehead, moving some of his bangs aside. She was in awe but she pushed her rapidly beating heart or feelings aside feeling his head was hot like he was running a fever. She knew he was exhausted, She just didn't think he was this exhausted to where he was actually sick from it possibly. She rested him on to his back moving his head into her lap. She will deal with whatever punishment she was to get, she didn't care. She was teriffed and worried for him. He pushed himself so hard just to enjoy time with her. To complete this obligation. She could only imagine what he was going to deal with when he got home from this. She looked around grabbing his sleeve to rest it on his chest before noticing a Crystal case. She picked up the case opening it in curious surprise getting a smile of white orchid she looked at the clear bubble hold a rose made of amethyst. She covered her mouth in shocked of the beauty but also the questions that flowed into her head. It was made for her, there was no doubt, he didn't just carry such a thing everyday. There was no way, enspecially while he had it in his sleeve, on his person. it was meant for this trip. it was meant for her. but the concern and doubting question was one simple one. Why hadn't he brought it out? Was there doubt? Something change between them? So many more doubts and worry flowed into her head. She shaked those thoughts quickly before placing the box back safely in her sleeve. It might have been meant for her, but he didn't give it to her. He had his reason. She just had to hope she was over thinking. [break][break] It was then she heard footstep rush to her of her mother and servants coming into the room. "Mom...He just collapsed. His head is hot. I think he is under the weather." She spoke in a panic [break][break] "Ssshhh, calm sumire." Spoke her mother as the servants picked him up moving to a spare bedroom to allow him to rest as sumire moved with them keeping near by as her mother stayed with her allowing a servant to present them with a bowl of cool water and a rag. Sumire wet the rag ringing it out as she rested it on his forehead. To hell with traditions, she will deal with any punishment her father saw fit. Right now her only process was watching over Enlil with her mother and the servants. However in the back of her mind that gift was plaguing slowly. [break][break] (thread end) [break][break]
