Kazuchou regarded his mission slip again; it was a simple mission he’d taken at the behest of his brother, but if he were being honest he would’ve taken the mission anyways. He reads over the provided description of his target: ‘White hair that would put that Hania Ravencrest to shame; eyes more golden than the Golden Dawn; the size of a dinner bun, a regal set of tufted ears and the beginnings of a plume of feathers for a tail.’ Indeed, Kazuchou was searching for a kitten. And although the written aid provided to him by the client was enough to potentially identify the cat, it was filled with unnecessary drivel. But that wasn’t going to stop him from finding the lost soul.
Chouji knew, drawing his brother’s attention to this mission, that he’d drop everything he was doing to save the cat. Cats were Kazuchou’s favorite creatures and if he had his way, the Vangarde family would make a business in raising cats instead of orphans. At least this way, he’d start making a kinder image for himself among his Magic Knight peers and the citizens he’s supposed to protect.
Kazuchou knew what a ploy this was, but that cat needed help.
And if worse comes to worse, he’ll take that poor kitten from its neglectful owner and raise it himself.
Surely no one would notice if he stashed away a small kitten in his robes and lie to the client about not finding their pet, right?
Kazuchou shook his head at the notion, he was being ridiculous but he needed something to entertain himself while prowling the alleys of Kiten to find his quarry. In and out, left and right, he swerved every which way across streets and buildings with eyes peeled for any white fluffs meowndering around. He keeps going over the moment he accepted the mission, the moment he met the client, and any and all information regarding the cat to get a sense of where they might go.
The client was an older, larger lady who was positively distraught over her missing Snugglepuff, and what details Kazu could glean from her sniveling cries was that the cat would likely still be in the city. And that its favorite food is chicken with cheese. Quite the salty and fatty food for what’s supposed to be a kitten, but understandable if it were a treat. Provided that treat was treated as a treat and not a regular meal. Regardless, he had a few areas in mind to look for the missing cat but would keep an eye out for them along the way. Hence why he was taking such a convoluted route to reach his first destination.

Despite finding many an odd cat in the alleys of Kiten, Kazuchou didn’t find a single one that matched the description of Mrs. Snugglepuff. With the alleyways off the search list, Kazu would begin his search of any restaurant, café, or grocer not within the city’s market-area. While the market seemed like the obvious choice, it would be too busy and noisy for a cat to intentionally seek out—especially a cat with such an overbearing owner—but not something to totally write out as a possibility.
That doesn’t mean Kazuchou would ever want to go around such a crowded place and talk to the people to find a cat of all things. His father would certainly have something to say about it, if his actions got back to the man. Which they often do; The Vangardes have in-family snitches everywhere trying to get a leg-up in their hierarchy and Kazu was coasting on his father’s gross attachment to his younger twin.
