A lot had happened lately and it was starting to feel like the only reliable people in family was himself and his sister. Still, he hadn't seen hind nor hair of the elder sibling in quite some time. This was fine though. Right now the hyper newbie was waiting for a different newbie to pop up. Doing this with another inexperienced person instead of someone experienced was as close to doing a patrol on his own the man had ever done so far. Such an action was supposed to be basic for a magic knight, but people getting a hang of being a magic knight includes learning to do things like this. For some it might be annoying, or just business. To himself it was magic. Their blue violet eyes looked around a bit with sparkling curiosity. There were many things he wanted to look at or do or touch, people to talk to, but not right now. As much as the Vermillion loved to learn, experience, and be around others, magic knight duties were taken very seriously. Kea was the sort to not mind taking orders, being from a military family. It would make less sense to be from one and not know how to fall in line when need be, but not impossible. There were always times when someone had to stand against the grain for what was right, that just wasn't here nor now. His sister would likely be very good at that and he was better at it than he imagined.
If Taiyo hadn't done what he had, the man would have never found out they could firmly say no to family and stand their ground. Being a member of the green mantis has helped a lot since then. He was still naive, but at the least the man new a lot more basics of life than previously. Not every basic thing, but it was better than nothing. 'The person is a lady from blue rose squad right? I hope I wont be the only one learning from this, but it's okay if I am.' He was of course smiling, even if the man was acting calm at this time. They were born with a terrible temper that was bad even for a Vermillion, but even at a young age knew that it was important not to let it take him over. Before having the skills that lead to self control, Kea had pleaded for help from his parents with it. Things only changed when the child broke their own arm in order to avoid their temper making them do a terrible mistake. It was metaphorically like digging a large empty mote in order to stop a fire in order to get it under control. Getting a teacher instead of lessons from his parents seemed to be an insult at first. The green mantis realized now that the two adults likely didn't know as much as they made others believe, that they wouldn't have been capable of teaching him what he needed.
That teacher that gave him so much did better than his parents would have. Because of that person, he could function like a normal person and fully embrace his life passions whatever they may be. Their only thought right now was to become a good magic knight and to figure everything out. He had the chance to grow, so he would. They wanted to be the best version of himself. “I wonder if we'll find any robbers on patrol after she arrives and we start.”

Lex would be walking through the markets of kikka, she would be meeting a member if the Green Mantis Squad today. It wasn't a hard job today, they would simply be patrolling the markets making sure no Bandits would be bothering the vendors. It wasn't a hard task though Bandits that attacked this area tended to be rather strong as there were usually knights in this area. Though for two magic knights it shouldn't be a huge ordeal for them. However she needed to meet with the Green Mantis Squad Member.
Shebwould be walking through the market wearing her purple dress that hugged her body in all the right ways, it had a slit down a side letting her leg come out as she walked. With her Blue Rose Knight cloak around her she walked with a regalness to the way she walked. Many eyes were on her, which she loved. One weakness she had was he love for attention l, though she would never let her weakness take over and get in the way of her tasks, like the one she had today. However as she walked she finally spotted the green cloak of the Green Mantis Squad member she was going to work with. A young man with wavy hair, she got the vibe they were on the newer side, not that that mattered to her all to much. All she cared about was if he was true to being a magic knight. She walked over approaching the young man.
"Hello there darling, it is a pleasure to meet you. My name is Lex Krane, I am the member of the Blue Rose Knights that will be accompanying you today."
She said to the young man looking down at him as she gave a smile to him. She awaited his responses slightly looking over her shoulder for a brief second before returning her attention. He was a young man who seemed eager to be here. It was refreshing to say the least. She was also eager to work with him though she didn't outwardly show it. This was her first time doing a mission outside her squad. She wanted to meet and make acquaintances with all the other squads at some point to some degree. She felt it was an important for her goals. She wanted to do what was best for her family and her fellow knights. She wanted to know more about this young man first though.
"So darling what's your name hm? And what style of magic do you use so we may work the best we can."
She smiled becoming curious about the young mage, her scholarly instincts starting to kick in and she started wondering about the young mages griomre, she wondered about his magic and about his skills, she never asked someone younger like him. However she would contain herself for now. For now she needed to keep her in check and focus for today. She stood there giving a warm sincere smile to the young man.

Keas face flushed a little before slapping his own face lightly. She was eye catching, but what mattered the most was doing their work as a magic knight. The color quickly faded, the motion to get back to what was important worked like he knew it would. His eyes soon sparkled back up with excitement and thoughts of doing the patrol. “My name is Kea, it's nice to meet you! My magic is light and lava, specializations include attack, defense, and restraining. What styles of magic do you use? I hope to work well with you too. I'm still sort of new to being a magic knight, but I'll be doing my best to try to spot any robbers in the area during our patrol. I'm a bit naive, but my seniors have given me tips on spotting them so I think I'll do okay?” He had the power, but not the experience. It wouldn't be hard for someone to doubt his ability to spot a criminal, maybe that's why members of his squad had given him tips. It would be easy to see them as needing help figuring things out, but at least he was eager to learn and do. As for why he didn't say his last name? This wasn't a party or anything where a last name might be needed and he didn't want to make anyone feel uncomfortable. Every since Taiyo did the thing, it became less smart to say you're a Vermillion. He wouldn't deny being one if asked, he was just trying to avoid unneeded trouble.
What mattered was doing the patrol! Being a magic knight and doing good. It made sense that he would take it seriously, considering he was from a military family. It wasn't one of the squads Vermillions were known to join, but there was one point in time where the man was considered an extra in the family. A person that would be highly unlikely to ever take a leadership role with how far down the line from inheritance he was. This came with less faith in him, a hands off approach for the focus to be put onto people they had more faith in. He had a loose forest green shirt, loose forest green shorts, long cool grey socks, and black light slip on shoes. They of course did have their green mantis mantel on as well, but that was a given. He was dressed for a lot of movements, but that was how the man typically dressed as a whole. It was important to be able to be as flexible and fast as he could, so always dressed for such possible occasions. It would be especially important there. Then again, Kea was a quick moving person in general. Now if only his ability to spot criminals were as quick as their feet. Well, maybe he would do fine in spotting them? His blue violet eyes were certainly filled with excitement. No matter how things turned out, he would do his best. That probably meant spotting at least a few, right? Only time and action would tell.

Lex would give a slight smirk at the boys brief nervousness however he mind was brought back to herbmind as the young man named Kea said his magic combination. For once her stoic look turn from its normal look to one of excitement and curiosity. Lava and Light magic…what a rare a curious combination. She now wanted to peek at his grimoire now and learn about him. However she quickly took a deep breath and recomposed herself. She could do that later, for now she had a job to do. If this job went the way she thought it would she would probably get to see his magic in action…which would be a delightful treat for her today. She gave a smile responding to the man's inquire about her. After all,it wasn't everyday someone asked her about what she could do.
"Well Kea darling my magic is Mist and Acid, though I prefer it as Poison Mist Magic, I specialize in Attack Magic, Hex and Curse magic, and Physical Reinforcement Magic. I specialize in wearing my targets to a lesser state and then striking hard to knocking them down. But don't worry, My toxins won't hurt you~"
She said with a small smile wanting to reassure her ally. She didn't want him to this her toxins could harm him, However she didn't want them to think of her as a hindrance. However there was work to be done, and the patrol wasn't much of a patrol if they stood in one place. Unless the bandits came to them…wishful thinking though. She looked over at him smiling to Kea.
"Well Kea darling, I love talking However perhaps we should start our patrol now. Wouldn't want any Bandits to get a full head and try something while we gossip"
She said with a smile laugh trying to make a small joke, though she was never good at it. She turned letting her cloak flutter for a moment as she look at him over her shoulder at her gesturing for him to follow so they could start there patrol. She would start to walk and start there patrol. Though as they walked she looked down at Kea, she may as well get to know the young man. No reason silence had to be a third wheel here.
"So Kea darling, what made you join the Green Mantis Squad, or perhaps they chose you? I don't have much experience with other squads other then a brief conversation with my friend in the Coral Peacocks, however this is my first mission with someone outside my Squad. Needless to say I'm very curious how things are in your Squad."
She said with a smile as she looked to him then back to where she was walking. She wouldn't get distracted by the conversation, she was able to talk and keep an eye out for Bandits, though they usually make themselves known in due time. She would patiently await his answer, enjoying the small calm they had before the storm.

Kea had no idea that Lux was interested in his magic, which made sense since she hadn't spoken anything about it out loud. “It wouldn't be a poison mist cus acid corrodes. Poison can be terrifying, but it needs to be injected to be effective. That's okay though since Mist and acid sound like an interesting and effective combination for non lethal combat, very wonderful! Don't worry, I trust you.” He wasn't sure what the point in giving it a nickname was, he didn't want to say anything out loud, but it was important to know the difference between poison and that acid wasn't even connected to either of those things. There was a difference in poison and venom as well, but this was not something that was brought up. Still, knowing the differences was important, right? How do you deal with something if you get how it acts mixed up with something else? He was confident in their ability to use magic, but mainly because they were a magic knight. They also trusted her to not hurt any nearby civilians, as there would likely be many around. That meant no spells that effected areas should really be used.“If my magic is too strong for them, than I'll just use my speed and some physical attacks to distract and to corral them.” The point was to arrest them after all, not kill. They were magic knights, not blood thirsty killers.
There could be a chance of them being stronger than him, but they might be weaker too. Did he need to figure out how to have weaker spells? Probably, but it didn't change that he didn't have those weaker spells right now. That meant such a thing wasn't an option right now. “Or maybe I shouldn't worry about my magic being too strong?” But he didn't like the idea of that, the frown on their face certainly said that. He didn't want their first dead person to be today, even if it was a criminal. “If they can't handle my spells, if nothing else I'll be able to use my physical speed really well.” The green mantis didn't even want to consider death as an option, though he knew it was something he had to do if things came to push to shove. This was the military and these were criminals that were hurting other people. Stealing someones money could be taking their rent, or food, or medicine. Even if he had never been a commoner, they had spoken a lot to fellow magic knights in the green mantis base, as well as servants on the Vermillion estate. He was very aware that theft was a big deal and not a victimless crime where nobody got hurt. “So long as I do things right and learn from my mistakes, things should be fine.” The young man wanted to do things properly, but wasn't going to pretend they had lots of experience with capturing criminals.
When she suggested they start off to do the patrol, the young man nodded. “Sorry, you're right, lets go.” So of course he started following her. It seemed like she was more experienced at this than he was, which was fine. It was better than two partially clueless people not realizing they should start walking. His eyes shimmered with excitement because they were finally doing it! Of course it wasn't like standing around and chatting was taking too long for him, he was just charged with excitement. This made the man quite a bit eager to get started and possible catch bandits. By how Lex spoke though, were they super common in Kikkas market? The green mantis hadn't expected such a question from the other, but it also wasn't completely out of left field. “I joined after being commanded to join by my parents because I refused to call them my parents or treat them as such. It's been nice being a green mantis, they've helped me me see a lot of things that I wasn't able to before. Everyone is very nice, it made me realize a lot of things.” Instead of being upset over the emotional abuse of his past, he was happy to have had such a wonderful master that had filled a parental role for him. Even if it hadn't been forever nor was he perfectly parental, the teachers lessons would be with him for the rest of his life.
It would be a lie to say he didn't wish for something or someone to feel like they were there for him while being physically there. He craved interaction with other people, but that wasn't their sisters fault. She was someone who preferred less company and touch. Maybe it was the years of isolation, or perhaps he was just born to enjoy being around others. It could even be a mix of both things, but that didn't change his reality. To make matters worse, those he saw as family, who were family by blood he had felt a bit betrayed by most lately. Leonard treated Kea like he had been the one to turn the world against him, Taiyo had killed a family member, and he didn't even know what his sister was doing. “What about you?” But that was when he noticed something during the patrol, a man pick pocketing someone. ”Hold it right there!” Kea yelled before sprinting towards the person. The thin and flexible man was quick on his feet, rushing over. The green mantis made the other look sluggish and slow in comparison, making it easy to catch up to them and deliver a punch to the face. The person fired a spell at Kea, but the man had bent down and kicked their shin before the activation was completed. This caused the person to fall, giving the junior more than enough time to take out some cuffs and put one on the wrists.
While the thief tried to kick the red head away, he just used the flailing limbs going towards him as a faster way to get them on both ankles. A water spell soon hit Kea before he could really carry off the criminal. 'Is there more?' Their mind raced as the teenager started to look around. He wasn't someone that really had sensory, so it was more difficult to pick up things like incoming attacks. Looking around the market place didn't help them pin point the attacker though, as now it seemed there were multiple aggressors. “They can't all be thieves, can they?” Of course this was showing just how naive he was, no matter how fast or strong the green mantis junior ranked person was.
Lex Smiled as you listen to the boy speak. You speak about why he joined the green Mantis Squad and what the squad was like. Though his reasoning for joining was quite surprising to her. I guess it was true what people said. People's reasons for joining were all different. They came in different shapes and sizes. Though wasn't too far off from her own initial reason for joining. Remembering the day her mom told her that she needs a join for money. She took a deep breath. It wasn't something she've got hold of doing not because of the money, but mainly because she never really wanted to be one in the first place. Though she didn't regret it now, she enjoyed her life. Enjoyed the field research, so perhaps it was a good thing. But she didn't really want to talk about that. She had no desire to rehash up the past. At least not without being asked. Though hearing that the squad was nice and they treated him. Well, it's good to know that seemed to be a common theme around the squads. I seem to take care of each other no matter who they were. Which was she suppose the point of being in squads in the first place. Though then he asked a dreaded question of why she became a magic knight. But maybe a blessing, but mostly occurs before she could answer. Someone got pickpocketed and started running. And for she even registered turning to the young man. Next to him, he was already gone, and she stood there. Like there was a dotted outline of him from a cartoon. It wasn't that she was unprepared for such an event. She was unprepared for him to run off without saying anything.
He just…left me behind…
She gave a deep sigh Before following after the best she could. She was behind, but it wasn't hard to hear where they were going. And wasn't exactly quiet running. As they were both following sprinting through the markets, she decided to have the fall the gasps of the citizens. And she did just that, Making her way at a quick pace to the marketplace. Not wanting to get caught out in any sort of trap or ambush… However, as she got to her partner, it seemed just that had happened. He was at least run by at least four of them and one he had cuffed. She took a deep breath. Not seeming to have been quite noticed yet. As she surveyed the area seeing the predicament he was in.
'This is why you don't run off on your own'
She thought to herself looking around the area. It seems as if their plan was to lead them both into an ambush however, they only seem to get one. This made her concerned, however, censoring magic wasn't her strong suit. She wasn't as good as some at detecting where other mages were. In era, she tends to fix one day. However, it wouldn't help her dwelling on it today. She took a deep breath flipping through some pages in her grimoire focusing on the area around him. A fight was happening, But she wasn't much of a melee combatant. She took a few steps out now making herself known. Having surveyed the situation he was in keeping Enough distance between them should she get chased or spelt cast at her should be out to deal with it.
Corrosive Mist: Sundering Cloud~
With that the area around Kea became a misty vapor cloud like yous see from a gas tank, though he wouldn't be effect by it, She could see the enemies around already succumbing to the cloud. They suddenly looked paler and started sweating a bit more as their endurance. Overall and strength took a hit. She took a deep breath as she took another step forward as the cloud was still forming looking at Kea.
Darling, be a dear and subdue these Bandits I'll support you…then we will have a good long talk~
Her tone of voice was a weird mixture of commanding, motherly, and friendly, all mixed in one. They would be talking later about him running off on his own and getting surrounded like this. Being caught out in the overmail, any sort of backup like this could have been a very different situation for him, and it still was a situation from he was not out of the woods yet. But it certainly wasn't a start now that she was here. Luckily, not much more than what appeared to be a minor wound. However, she was no healer. She wasn't particularly skilled in that field. What you could do for the man, though? Is level the playing field if there are more of them than him than the least she could do is weaken them, so when he does attack, it counts. Depending on how things go, she may have to do a bit more. But for now, she wanted to see what he would do next and what they would do next.
Though a few of the bandits did not waste any time turning their attention towards her She could see that they were getting ready to cast some spells at her to try to mutualize her in the Mist around them. Hopefully though this would be enough of distraction to allow Kea to do some work.

The mist had been a surprise, but not a bad one. This allowed Kea to better knock down and restrain each attacker, putting the cuffs on each person one by one. This probably wasn't the best way to do things though. It wasn't bad to take hits, so long as he could get the job done. Still, this would have been easier if he had been certain his spells wouldn't kill anyone to use. 'I need to figure out some gentler spells, just in case this happens again.' the man thought this to himself as he cuffed the last one. “Sorry, I just can't sit still when seeing a crime, it's what I was born for.” The very idea of doing anything else besides be a magic knight didn't occur to him in any way. No matter what happens, he had been born, bred, and raised to be a magic knight. His family was military through and through. Of those of his generation, he had been dubbed the most obedient one for the majority of his life. Ever since joining the green mantis, his independent thoughts had only increased. He still followed orders, but was more capable of thinking outside of it as well. It was after he made sure they were all restrained the Vermillion grabbed up the stolen bag from the one originally chased down. Taking the item, he rushed it back to its owner. “Here you are ma'am. I'm going to go take these criminals in now. ”
The woman opened her bag, looking inside before letting a sigh than closing it back up. “Thank you.” The hyper tangerine colored red head smiled a bit before looking back at the group of people. He didn't have an easy way to bring them all back with him, but that didn't mean he certainly wouldn't try. A smile of excitement crossed their lips before rushing over. “This was an interesting patrol!” Struggle was interesting to go through, because it meant you were giving it your all.
