The path Jirou walked was one illuminated by his own foot steps. With each move the footprint he had left would glow, causing a small ball of aura just big enough to look like ghost fire to float up and dissapear into the air as harmless mana. Left behind was no foot print at all, as if a ghost had made their way down the road. Above him and originating from his shoulders, a strip of silken ribbon that floated behind and above his head like the Kami of his homeland often were depicted to be. But none would know the god he was dressed as because it was himself. How he pictured himself as a God would be. Floating directly behind his head was a beautifully made and crafted crystaline stucture. It was made from diamond gemstone that were enchanted with his own aura to shine a soft light around his head and make the glittering gemstones upon his clothing glisten like ice crystals in the air.
His hair was cut short, and dyed to a perfec white. His Emperial Jade eyes were a green neon spot upon the pure white backing of his hair and the top of his head and clothing. a single earing made its way down toward his shoulder, made from perfectly cut wild Gemstones that the himself had found and cut. He had made all the gemstonees, collecting and refining those he already could get to and making certain specialty ones from wild gems he found n his travels. He had a pride in himself that refused to let him wear anything without having contributed to its making somehow. Because even if it was simply picking the right fabric for it to be, he would only be certain it was perfect when his own divine and blessed hands worked upon the items. On the top of his head was a golden and platinum family crest of the Yuiee that was decorated with a gemstone that Jirou had not found. But forged. One made from his own condensed aura and using his Gemstone oddity to enhance its sturdiness, he had turned it into a compressed gemstone that shined a beautiful Royal Purple hue.
His top, was made of the purest white silk, fortified with the special techniques of the Yuiee family as it was spun by their own silk larva. His shoulders were decorated with platinum trimmings that invoked the scales of a dragon, Sapphire gemstones lined the sleeve like raindrops falling upward toward his head. The gemstones made their way down and more appeared just above his waist and continued down until they touched the inky black cloud that drifted beneath him. As he walked it would mix with the aura that came from his footsteps making the already eerie ghost fire like effect more smoky and etherial in appearance. The black smoke quickly dispersed once it flowed and was gave off the brief smell of a gathering lightning storm. He smiled as he made his way toward where he wished to stop off first: the Costume Contest and he was quickly signed up made his way to wait to be called to perform.

The auburn haired woman spotted something, or rather someone, with a rather glittering appearance to her. Didn’t help that the person also had glowing steps along with them. Her curiosity made her stop in her path to a food stall for something small to munch on, and by something small, a candied apple that she could enjoy munching on as she walked around. Her sudden stop made the fox eared headband bounce a little, along with the tail belt. She adjusted the top of her customized yukata inspired dress, and made sure her long sleeves didn’t tangle with her fake tail, or get under her skirt.
She thought for a moment and observed where he was going, noticing it was a costume contest. She tilted her head a hair as she observed the booth for the game, and shrugged her shoulders. There was no harm in joining in on the contest. She glanced down to her geta sandals and made sure the thigh high stockings were in place before she let her feet bring her towards the booth. Others were starting to come up to join as well, and she quickly scribbled her name down on the paper.
Her father had mentioned to her in a recent letter that if she was going to help the family from the outside, she needed to get slightly known and make some connections. A way for connections this go round just happened to be in the form of a contest, which she partially disliked. The plan was simple: get in the contest, attract an eye or two for business with her family, leave contests alone for the rest of the night. Or, if no one came to talk business with her, she could say she tried. Winning wasn’t the ultimate goal, but it could help. In this situation at least.
Taking a deep breath, Ophiuchus walked over to where the other contestants were. She made sure her hair wasn’t behind her ear. The illusion of her being a cat person would possibly be ruined then, and for a contest, it just might not work in her favor then.

As Iji moved over to where the costume contest was going on he saw quite a few people in various costumes and he gave a approving nod,”hmm going to be some decent competition from the looks of it” he muttered to himself as he saw a girl in what looked like clothes from the far east and then the Ravencrest saw Jirou and he wanted to shake his head as he saw how ornate the mans outfit was and he sighed.”seems like your wanting to be the focus of everything here arnt you jirou" he commented as he approached his tone was normal not mocking or mean jsut observant as his own outfit was less gaudy but still fitting for the festival since he looked the part of a marksman and he adjusted his hat as he wondered just how many more people would show up for this contest before they would get it underway, he knew that they had many things going on and with how many were here it likely would take a bit before they started.
He glanced around at the spooky décor that had been put out by the green mantis squad and he had to give them credit they put a good amount of work into this event every year and it showed, it made him glad that even after a change of leadership that dedication was still strong, he moved over to a desk and signed the paper to enter him into the contest as glanced not only and Jirou but at the other woman he saw had decided to join as well in the eastern clothing and he would wait in the same area as them while others got signed up as well.
As the young woman began to walk away from where those who were wishing to take part were greeted she stopped as Hua held her sleeve suddenly. "Hua?" she said her tone showing confusion "Nǚshì, nín de shìlì yīn tóu shā ér shòudào yánzhòng sǔnhài." he said calmly, she hadn't realized she had almost banged into a child that had run out in front of her. Soon enough she felt something being placed around her right wrist. "Dàodǐ shì zěnme huí shì?" she asked as she was about to lift the veil but was stopped "Wǒ huì yǐndǎo nǐ, dàn huì zài wǒmen hǎiguān de xiànzhì fànwéi nèi jìnxíng." he said his voice was respectful, she raised her hand to see a white piece of silk with golden embroidery "Hěn měilì" she commented running her fingers over it delicately "Jīn wǎn jiéshù hòu, rúguǒ nín yuànyì, kěyǐ bǎoliú tā." he said, he did not need such things.
Once it was done she began to walk around, Hua began to explain the games that vendors wanted to have people play and even some of the foods that were on offer. At current nothing was truly interesting to her, Hua had prevented her from colliding with children who came out of nowhere or even adults who seemed not to notice her. Ordinarily, this wouldn't be a problem as she would be able to see but Hua was refusing to allow her to raise her veil, treating her as if she was truly a bride. She understood why he would do this but personally thought it was silly as it was a costume and she wasn't getting married that night. As far as she was aware she wasn't even betrothed at that point as she had yet to see a matchmaker.
Eventually, Hua told her of a costume competition, this was something new to her "Wǒmen kěyǐ qù kàn kàn ma?" she asked her tone showing curiosity, Hua didn't say a word but led her towards the location. He took note that there were already some people there and informed her of such, this didn't bother her in the slightest as they were likely there to take part or like her out of pure curiosity. She remained a little ways away not wanting to interfere with anyone, her head tilted up as she heard Hua whispering something under his breath. She could have inquired and in truth she most likely should have but she knew that tone he had used within his whisper and it meant that the situation was likely going to become complicated and it wasn't something he wanted to really deal with.
Nǚshì, nín de shìlì yīn tóu shā ér shòudào yánzhòng sǔnhài. - My lady your vision is very much impaired with the wedding veil. Dàodǐ shì zěnme huí shì? - What's going on? Wǒ huì yǐndǎo nǐ, dàn huì zài wǒmen hǎiguān de xiànzhì fànwéi nèi jìnxíng - I will guide you but will do it within the restraints of our customs
Hěn měilì - It's beautiful Jīn wǎn jiéshù hòu, rúguǒ nín yuànyì, kěyǐ bǎoliú tā. - Once tonight is over you may keep it if you wish.

As he was examining the stage where he would stand he smiled and would chuckle at the smallness of it. True it was still a large stage, but nothing like the grand imperial stages in his homeland. He would chuckle as he saw the costumes of the others, though he didn’t notice the girl following him right away. He stood by the sign up booth as he waited to sign up and when he saw Iji he blinked softly and laughed like someone seeing an old friend. “Iji! My dear sweet friend!it is good to see you again.” hed pull his fan from his belt gently as he used it to cover his mouth, the fan was modeled after the magical Banana Leaf Fan of his home country. “This outfit is… quaint. I like it. Its humble nature befits you well. It shows the world you care little for desire and form. You embrace practicality. I enjoy that.” hed say as he stopped circling around him and hed the little fox slipping into the line to sign up and would go ahead of them both as he chuckled and signed up alongside Iji.
As they both turned away to walk to the private area Jirou would be mid sentence when he saw her. “You must visit the estate Iji, I insist. I know you are well within your means but it would be a terrible dishonor if I did not invi--” his heart caught in his chest as his imperial jade eyes landed upon her form. His heart skipped several beats and he could not help himself but take a step forward. What grace, what fortune. “Xǐhuān lǐwù…” he lowered his fan for a moment in shock at her outfit. “I…Forgive me Iji” he turned blushing deeply. Beyond deeply. He blushed as though he was going to pop with emotion. Did the Gods favor him so that they would tell him exactly who to love? Did she even realize what she was wearing? He couldn’t help but turn to look at her once more before he would turn to speak to Iji again. “As….As I was saying….” he covered his mouth with his fan and even covered his face below his eyes.
just then a new sight filled his eyes. a small and quite adorable fox girl. what a strange but charming outfit. the eastern style clothing was correct, but she wore it rather oddly. no...no he realized he was just...still in shock by what he had seen. "My, My. A cute little fox Spirit blesses us with her appearance." jirou would say with a smile befitting a regal man as he lowered the fan his Imperial Jade Green eyes washed over her. It is not often to see true spirits out and about even on this sacred night. But it seems we are blessed Iji to get to see one in the flesh."

As others started to come over to the costume contest area, Ophiuchus would glance to them, admiring their costumes. There was no way she’d be able to win, but she still hoped that with her writing down her last name, someone would recognize her and want to talk business with her. Someone seemed to already know the glittering man, and she wondered if she should introduce herself to them too… No, it would be impolite to put herself in their conversation.
She observed another woman dressed as a bride, the only reason she knew the outfit was so, was because she had once seen a similar outfit in a book of wedding attire. That felt like a creative costume for the festival. Maybe next year she would have to up her own game, if she would be bothered to do so.
She adjusted her sleeves again and rubbed her arm. Her mind was backpedaling the idea of doing this contest now. She had to convince her mind to let her stay, and she glanced towards the group of people. After checking her hair with her hand, she cleared her throat and approached the first group that was near her.
“Good evening, I am Ophiuchus Amriu.” She says as she holds her hands gently together in front of her abdomen. With a small bow, she gave them a soft smile.

Iji had to resist the urge to roll his eyes at the Peacock of the Yuiee, yes they were squadmates but the Ravencrest honestly found the mans posturing to be more of a nuisance then anything else but Iji tolerated it and would keep his gripes to himself, as he offered pairse saying he embraced practicality the fire user merely nodded.”sometimes working in the shadows has better benefit then being in the limelight but thats just me” he admitted before he walked with him and heard him inviting Iji to the Yuiee estate before getting cut off Iji blinked as he spoke.” as much as I would like that Jirou I'm a bit busy in regards to my schedual I have obligations so a visit would be far out if anything unfortunately but we can see” he said before he heard the man trail off and he glanced to where the prince was looking and saw the lovely woman in what looked like gar eastern wedding attire and he smirked at the look on Jirous face.”pick your jaw up Jirou or a fly is going to land in there” he teased as his golden eyes looked to the young woman and he escort
he heard a voice greet them both and he turned his attention to see the young woman who had approached them and introduced herself as Ophiuchus and bowed to them, Iji gave a bow back in greeting before giving a small smile."a Pleasure to meet you I'm Iji Ravencrest and the man beside me glittering like a statue is Jirou Yuiee we both are from the Golden Dawn Squad” he said having a playful poke at Jirou but doing his best to be polite.”so Ophiuchus are you enjoying the Festival so far?” he asked trying to strike up a conversation. After a moment he decided to see if the woman in the eastern wedding dress wanted to join them and he motioned he would be right back before he walked over before bowing politely.”hello I was wondering if you two would to join our group we are currently waiting to be judged for our outfits” he said looking at the two his posture calm as he waited for their answer.
Jiao remained still near her guard, she could hear voices but could see nothing, she was fully dependant on Hua to keep her safe. She had to admit she was frightened at being around so many people and unable to see any possible danger coming towards her but Hua had always kept her safe and, like many times before, she put her faith in him. The pair remained away from the rest of the group. It could have been paranoia but she felt as if she was being stared at and shuffled carefully behind Hua as she felt uncomfortable "Wǒ de nǚshì?" Hua would quietly say confused by her actions as she could see nothing. He turned his attention to their surroundings and saw no impending dangers but noticed Jirou staring at her. He knew as a warrior how even without sight that instincts were ever present.
"Èr huángzǐ hěn xīnshǎng nǐ de fúzhuāng. Wǒ xiāngxìn tā kěnéng huì liǎnhóng." he whispered to her, this made her act abnormally and grab onto the back of his clothing. It was clear she was shy and didn't know how to react to the information that she had just been given. "Wǒ quèxìn tā zhǐshì xīnshǎng nà jiàn xīnniáng lǐfú. Gèng hékuàng wǒ háishì gè píngmín. Tā zhídé yǒngyǒu yīgè zhù zài cháotíng lǐ de qīzǐ." She knew her place within the world and had no wish to disrupt it as it would only spell disaster for her family. Hua remained silent not wanting to make her any more self-conscious. It was then that Hua noticed a man moving from Jirou's side and coming towards them. He would bow politely but his hand went to his sword, it was more of a reflex than anything else as his lady was uncomfortable.
He listened to what he was saying "My lady doesn't understand Clovian as she has been in the country for only a year at this point." he explained to Iji as to why she likely wouldn't answer or that he would speak on the woman's behalf. He informed Jiao of what had been said allowing her to make the decision. "My name is Hua and I am the guardian of my lady, her name is Jiao Liang while we are here in Clover." he explained while Jiao was making up her mind on whether they should take part or not. Feeling a tug Hua looked back and watched as Jiao nodded. "It would seem as if my lady has agreed to take part, please lead the way." he said his voice respectful allowing the man in front of them to take them to the others.
Èr huángzǐ hěn xīnshǎng nǐ de fúzhuāng. Wǒ xiāngxìn tā kěnéng huì liǎnhóng. - Second prince is admiring your costume. I believe he might be blushing.
Wǒ quèxìn tā zhǐshì xīnshǎng nà jiàn xīnniáng lǐfú. Gèng hékuàng wǒ háishì gè píngmín. Tā zhídé yǒngyǒu yīgè zhù zài cháotíng lǐ de qīzǐ. - I'm sure he just admires the bridal gown. Besides, I'm a commoner. He deserves a wife who lives within the imperial court.

How does one describe love? Jirous mind was beyond buzzing and in such a fashion that he did not mind his male companion approching the princess he saw. The little fox was telling her name and he looked toward her. It was clear from his face that he was flustered and blushing as if he was a maiden seeing her lover for the first time in bed. He knew his face could be seen and he moved his fan to cover both angles. But it was clear he was flustered by what he had seen. ”I….forgive me. Ophiuchus. I was Rude and wasn’t paying attention when you first spoke I…am Jirou Yuiee, Second Prince of my family.” hed note her manners and smile softly. ”Your manners are quite wonderful. Thank you for such a proper greeting.” hed bow back to her softly as a man of higher status should in his culture. A soft gently bow that was barely leaned forward but it was clear he was being respectful.
As he reset his posture his eyes shifted back as the group was making their way toward them. His eyes never left hers. He couldn’t see her through the veil, but he knew the human body well and could figure where her eyes were. He wasn’t staring intnetionally and when he felt he was looking for too long he quickly turned, a clear and present red hue to his cheeks. why did he feel this way? He had met her before and it was the same then as well, but far less fierce then this. Thankfully he remembered Huas appeearance otherwise he would know that it was Jiao under that veil. Butn even still his heart beat unlike it ever had. He was when they approched the group he would bow most respectfully toward her. ”Jiāo niángzǐ……rúguǒ bùshì huá, wǒ kěnéng yǐwéi huánghòu qīnzì lái cānjiā zhège jiérìle.”
Hed turn to Hua and bow as ell to him, but not as deeply, but still respectfully. Hua, it is good to see you both again. We met last yearat this same time of year as well, twice in a row must make this time special for us as a group in some way.” as they walked toward where they were suppost to be going for the contest hed make sure to keep a polite distance from Jiao, and hed not make any sudden movements to unsettle Hua. ”Perhaps after we all compete, I would like to take you all to eat before we move to our next activity.Would that be acceptable?”
Translation: Lady Jiao…If it was not for Hua I might think the Empress herself came to this festival.

As she realized she may have interrupted the musings of a man over a woman, Ophi politely glanced away so he wouldn’t be too embarrassed of her being in his presence. She honestly couldn’t fault him for feeling so, she felt she may feel similar if she was a masculine person if she saw the woman herself. She did feel pretty to her too. As Iji introduced himself and Jirou, Ophi nods. “I never expected to instantly bump into some knights here.” She let herself chuckle as Jirou introduced himself and complimented on her manners, she lowered her head a bit. “I suppose my manners come from the fact I’m the fourth child of House Amriu. It is a pleasure to meet you both.” She kept her face even about introducing herself as a noble there, but she wanted to gag honestly. She disliked that, but she reminded herself it could help with connections.
She was asked about her enjoyment of the festival by Iji, and she turned her attention back to him, smiling to him as she nods. “I only recently came to the festival, but I do like the decor and the layout.” She was grateful for how the layout seemed to her. As he motioned he’d be back, she nodded her head to him again, watching where he was going before she waited for him to return. Her amber brown eyes watched as the other couple interacted with the other man, then glanced towards the stage as she heard some chattering going on there. “I think they may be getting ready to call us over to the stage in a minute…” She mutters more to herself, but allowing her thoughts to be out there for everyone else to hear.
As the couple joined the group, Ophi bowed to them as well, like how she did to Jirou and Iji. She let herself follow alongside the group to the stage and line up slowly, but before they did, Ophi let her feet travel closer to the new addition to the group. She figured the veil made it difficult for her to see, so she tried her best to be respectful and not walk in front of her. “I apologize if this feels sudden from a stranger, but I like your dress a lot.” She smiles to the woman, glancing to the man as she noticed he translated for her.
Jirous’ offer to take the group to eat made the redhead woman look to the glittering man. She felt she probably wouldn’t win this contest, but connections could still be made other ways. She nodded to him as she took her spot on the stage. “I wouldn’t mind accompanying you if others are joining in as well.” She answered his offer. Her eyes looked over as four others joined the group. She couldn’t help but admire their costumes too, and part of her wondered if anyone here at the festival had intended to join this competition here or not. She doubted it for the most part at least.
She turned to look at the crowd, tilting her head just a little to let the ears on her headband bounce slightly while she softly twisted her hips to get the tail on the belt to sway along with her. This probably wouldn’t up any chances of appeal in the contest, but she also wouldn’t admit she found it fun, especially with the swaying of the skirt of her dress along with the tail.
