House Amriu resides in the port city of Raque, and pride themselves in mostly being a merchant business based family. They started out with doing small business with select merchants to sell various luxury goods to other nobles, such as teas and accessories. That was eleven generations ago with the first head, Ferdinand Amriu. Ferdinand desired that in the family, any child of the head may be able to become the head, regardless of gender and birth order, if they can prove they could lead the family to continue forward. That rule was to never be removed under any circumstances, regardless of what others wanted to do. To ensure that the rule stayed in place, Ferdinand appointed seven people to help with decisions, a cabinet so to speak. The cabinet eventually had the first Head join briefly before his passing in the family's later years.
[break][break]
Due to the first Heads ruling any child of the head could become the head afterwards, this made it so the Head is allowed to have multiple partners if they so desired. Not many of the heads actually took up this opportunity, but they also didn’t hide the fact that the family would welcome it. All parties, including the cabinet, have a say on if more partners can be brought in, and who can be brought in. Having multiple partners was also to ensure more potential successors with others of influential standings or of great renown to improve their bloodline and business. Having more successors also made it so that there was someone to take over if the one who was deemed successor at the age of eighteen had any sort of accident or failed terribly as the head and was removed from their position by members of the house.
[break][break]
After Gladis Amriu, the fourth head of the house, took over, the house started making deals with other merchants, expanding their luxury goods business to do dealings with commoners as well. The luxury goods the commoners would get would be similar to the goods the nobles got, but there was a clear distinction that the goods were of a lower quality to make it more affordable to be purchased. After the Fourth Head, with each head after her, at least one product was added into the catalog of goods that they have. Goods also went with the trends, so when something was losing enough favor with the masses, the goods would be drastically reduced, or even removed from the catalog they sold from for either commoners, nobles, or both.
