Once again Valo found himself in his home town of Kikka on another job and just like before he was hoping to avoid running into people he knew. But this job was different than his last, this was more of a all day patrol. He was tasked this time with keeping patrol from bandits, which was quite ironic to him while he wasn't by definition a bandit. He was known as a thief and gang member, so now he was directly on the other side of the law. With this being his fifth magic knight job in a row, he was growing used to this idea of protecting and serving. At least when it came to protecting innocents, he had to admit he took some pride knowing that he was looked upon to defend innocent lives and their livelihood. Valo walked past the entrance of the town and towards the markets road, right in the front. He remembered this time he was actually not alone on this mission, it was assigned he would be partnering with someone else from another squad. So far Valo had only did missions on his own or with his squad mate Artemis, who was like a mentor to him. So this would be the first time having to work with someone else that was a magic knight, that he didn't know at all. Valo wasn't that thrilled about the idea if he were to be honest with himself. But he went along with it anyways, he better just get used to it now since it was a average thing for magic knights to work together in order to complete a mission. Valo was in a relaxed state of mind he was hoping to take things easy for this job. Not that he didn't mind or like some excitement but his last job took a lot out of him, he was hoping this patrol he could just lay back and relax.
Valo was dressed in his typical fashion, this time a grey sleeveless shirt with a green mantis cloak wrapped just above it. Black pants rolled up at the ankles, and black boots on his feet. Valo also had his materialistic and greedy nature, and to him outfits weren't complete without some jewelry. On his neck was a new gold necklace he decided to reward himself with for completing mission after mission with no faults. Especially his last job with Artemis pushed him to the brink, he toughest fight so far. To match the gold chain was a set of gold rings on his index and ring fingers. His starts white hair brushed, with his bangs just coming above his eyes. As Valo admired his new set of accessories he waited and sort of looked around for his partner on this job. Looking for anyone wearing a magic cloak of sorts hopefully he would spot theirs and they would spot his green one first.

Fell wandered over to Kikka, probably the village he had spent the most time at since becoming a knight, the capital of course not being a village. He had agreed to take on a job around here, he hadn't taken on as many jobs as the boy wanted to, managing to do one by himself. Simply put Fell was having too much fun traveling the kingdom, he was having a blast learning everything he could and in the short time since he had become a knight he had visited a fair few place around the kingdom. But Kikka had somehow found its place as the most visited little village for him, it wasn't a bad place by any means and to be honest Fell rather liked the tall buildings compared to the smaller ones like his hometown or those in the forsaken regions.
Fell was supposed to be working with someone today though, someone from another squad if he had remembered correctly. And assuming the boy knew where he was going by now, he should have been able to lay eyes on the person by now. Turning a corner Fell’s eye caught a glimpse of the partner he assumed was his. Mostly as he was at the meeting spot and sported a purple knight’s robe, he definitely was there for some reason. The man was much like the guy he had met in the tavern a little while back, meaning that he seemed to love his gold jewelry. Though at least this man wore clothes and hopefully was a little less...barbaric. He definitely was more finely dressed than Fell with the jewelry and clearly planned outfit. Meanwhile Fell was wearing the same clothes as always, simple black long sleeved shirt and black pants. That was about it along with some fairly nice albeit plain looking shoes, Fell didn't really care for the finer things of fashion such as a necklace or anything else. He was plain and simple and he liked it that way.
Making his way up to the man with his crimson lion cloak flowing about he stuck his hand out. The two were just about the same height, a hand reaching out only to be followed by some words. “Hello, I assume you are the partner for this patrol job. My names Fell, hopefully we can get along and protect the city for the day huh?” The boy would speak starting off some conversation in the hopes of making a new acquaintance or friend out of the man.
Slightly worried about actually fighting Fell was a little weary of the day ahead of them. Having not done too much combat since the exams, Fell was worried he might not be able to hold up his half of the mission so well as the other guy. But he was here and ready to do whatever took.

As Valo was busy admiring his new gold pieces, a male voice started him slightly. He turned around and saw a rather tall young man just about Valo's height . He had brown hair and red eyes dressed in very dark clothing that was a contrast to his pale skin he was quite a unique looking individual. Valo stopped playing with his ring and paused for a moment before finally deciding shaking his hand. "Names Valo." he stated in response. Valo noticed his Crimson Lion cloak it was admirable. Crimson Lion was a well known squad indeed.
Valo let go his hand and started to stretch with a loud yawn. This mission grind he was on was probably starting to get to him. But Valo shook off whatever tiredness he may have had. "Yeah I'll guess we'll be partners for the day. I haven't really worked with people from other squads yet, but I'm sure we both pull or weight it should be no problem. But to be honest I'm hoping today is a pretty normal day, this magic knight stuff can take a toll on ya you know?" Valo said to Fell wanting to grasp how he felt about being a magic knight. Valo saw no reason to be hostile towards Fell, if anything this was a chance to finally get meet someone and have someone to talk to other than Artemis. Valo for the most part of being a magic knight was a loner, now that he thought about it he next to no friends in any of the squads. No that it bothered him any, but why not make some allies when he could. Plus he could hear his mother's voice telling him to make some friends and stop causing so much trouble. This Fell guy seemed like a decent guy no need to an enemy out of him.
But soon their introductions would be interrupted by a nearby towns guard. "Aye you two, your new magic knights right? It's best you start you patrolling now, we have been getting hit by some bandits attacks recently." the guard said with an authoritative tone. Clearly a guard that just liked to just hear his own voice. The little act annoyed Valo, though he was a magic knight he still had a little bit of that old troublemaker in him.
"Yeah Yeah pig face. Shut it! Were going now." Valo replied waving him off and starting to walk off, heading into the market area. Assuming Fell followed him he would start another conversation. "The towns guard can be so annoying! They only do stuff like that cause they're jealous and the think they can get away with it. But anyways where ya from Fell? and what's it like being in the Crimson Lions squad?" Valo asked with genuine interest. Since this was first time interacting with someone outside of his own squad Valo took quite an interest on how other squads operated and what they were like. Compared to Green mantis which never had a good reputation, he wanted to know what made the other squads so special.
Fell was happy that the guy who introduced himself as Valo was nicer than he may have thought. It wasn't like many people who Fell had met so far, oftentimes people were extremely dismissive or outright rude to the boy. This time the individual was much more friendly and overall was somehow Fell thought he might be able to quickly get around to liking. The man seemed to trust Fell to pull his own weight which was nice, he had gotten an awful lot of looking down on his strength because he was a commoner, though many times those worries were dismissed over time as Fell was rather capable for how green he was to this whole magic and knight thing.
Fell nodded with the man's words, he agreed. Missions could take a toll, Fell was most likely one of the ones who understood this less though since so much of his time was spent traveling and doing what he wanted. In all honesty Fell had not done so much knighting as he ought to have. “Yeah, being a knight can be rough, but it's rewarding. Not only with the money which is nice, but also just emotionally and mentally. And the freedom to walk around and have citizens treat you like a knight is nice, though some of the other knights and such can make conversing with them rather hard.”
Fell’s words were quickly cut off at the end by the guard who came over acting all hot and bothered, feeling the need to shout at two people who could most likely ruin his career. It was annoying to Fell when people felt like being rude or shouting or anything of the sort, of course he would never react, the boy was nice and fairly reserved. Going to open his mouth to say okay, the man beside him instead spoke up. And he spoke in a way Fell wanted to, but didn't. Maybe this guy could be the one Fell needed in his life, someone to say the things Fell often wouldnt. Though in the end Fell knew he needed to grow up and speak his mind, but it was so much easier to be nice.
Fell followed as Valo began walking around, the two now beginning their patrol spree of wandering around looking for random bandits or god knows what else that would happen around the town, the random wolf or who knows. Fell listened to Valo again who sparked more conversation. “I agree, I am sure they envy the life of us, plus I can always mess with them with their own shadows. Just no physical pain though, damn restrictions. But I grew up in an extremely small and un-noteworthy village in the common region, grew up pretty sheltered basically, now I live with the Lions and they are nice. I haven't had a lot of time to really meet them, our captain is nice but can be intimidating and the vice is nice too albeit can be hot headed. I get a good amount of freedom though, and coming from a small village the huge castle is a nice upgrade for sure. Though there are some expectations to be held that I have been learning as I go, but like I said, I have the freedom to travel and such so in the end it is kinda a dream come true. How about you, where'd you grow up and how is life as a mantis? And just as a side note, I am a curious guy, why become a knight? Personally I just wanna grow strong enough to wipe out the diamond kingdom someday if we go back to war.”
Of course the boy didn't feel like mentioning the facts of why he wanted to do so, the revenge he wanted over the people responsible for his parents death, it wasn't something to be talked about just yet. And after all, they were supposed to be focused. Fell scratched the back of his head hoping he had not talked too much in such a short period of time, he sometimes had a problem with dragging on, hopefully the man wouldn't be scared away already.

Valo listened as Fell spoke, while giving Fell his ear he did keep some of his attention now what was going on in town. It was looking like just another average day in town nothing really seemed to out of the usual which made Valo pretty happy. Once his mind was at ease, he started to pay less attention to the market and townsfolk. Valo heard Fell mention he could mess with the gaurds using their own shadows, he thought that was rather interesting and took a mental note to come back to that point later on. Valo took a little bit of interest in other's magic and how they used them. His own fire magic was rather direct and extremely offensive, but hearing how others used their magic was always a point of interest for him. Plus if Fell could really use their shadows to mess with them, Valo just had to see how that worked.
When fell continued and stated he grew up in a small village, Valo related to him in that aspect though he grew up here in Kikka it was on the other much smaller part of town. Him and his old gang were very much tied down to the neighborhood and rarely ever explored the outskirts of Kikka do to them always getting in trouble. But Valo did know his way around pretty well. Fell mentioned he grew up rather sheltered and him being a magic knight allowed him the freedom to explore and travel.
"Yeah this kind of freedom is a really nice perc, I can agree to that. The Crimson Lions have a castle though?!" Valo looked shocked to hear that, instantly when hearing his greedy nature started to show itself. He started to imagine the kind of jewels and other expensive objects that may have been in a castle. "The other's were right most other squads were better off than us." Valo said rubbing his chin in thought. Though he had no intention of leaving Green Mantis even if he could, he did wonder if Green Mantis getting a castle of their own was possible. He made another mental note of that, he had to ask Artemis when he got the chance. Valo continued to listen to Fell though, while he did kind of run on Valo didn't mind much it wasn't like there was much going anyways. But the last sentence kind of caught Valo by surprise, that was a strong statement Fell said and given his appearance he didn't really expect it.
"Aaahhh I grew up here in Kikka actually! Haha! But my neighborhood is much more south so I rarely ever came to this part of town unless I was trouble." Valo said laughing to himself.
"Being a Green Mantis is cool actually, we don't have a castle! But most other magic knights looked down on us, so it's cool when we prove people wrong you know. There's a lot of pride in our squad surprisingly! We are eager to prove ourselves and prove most other people wrong! Plus we have a cool ass giant demon skull from some ancient battle apparently. It makes for quite the scenery!" Valo chuckled.
"Why did I become a magic knight though? I just want to be the strongest." Valo said simply and honestly. He had no drive for revenge or even protecting others if he were being honest with himself. While of course he would put his life on the line to protect innocents, his real drive just stemmed from wanting to be the best thats it. "I just want to be the best, I just seek strength simple and plain. No other reason than that. The way I see it I don't need a reason to want to be strong, just wanting it is more then enough." he stated plainly. "But why such anger towards the Diamond kingdom?" he asked Fell with genuine interest. But right after he asked that question a loud crash could be heard from one the shops ahead. Alerting the attention of some townsfolk.
Fell listened intently to the man who had agreed with the freedom part of Fells answer, which was nice considering it was sort of what Fell valued most in his life, freedom. It was pleasant walking around the city and talking to the guy. If Fell wasn't getting too far ahead of himself he would have thought that him and this fellow could get along really well. The market was pleasant after all and the conversation as well, it just seemed like the day was going well. And honestly even the patrolling was pleasant, Fell was used to wandering around constantly in his travels and had grown to find it calming even. The wind blowing about even in the market caused a great feeling in his hair, but something was still off.
Listening Fell smiled slightly at Valo’s remarks about the castle and answered in a brief remark. “I don't know if I would call it like a castle in itself more like….most of a castle does not have a huge guard tower or wall around it though.” The boy laughed slightly at the last few words. Listening to Valo talked about how he had actually grown up in Kikka which intrigued Fell. Wondering just what it was like to return on a mission walking about, Fell wondered if he left on good terms or not even. “Did you like it here? Just curious since there is a squad that has headquarters here. Was wondering if that was ever a place you thought of going to stay in your hometown or not?”
As the man spoke on he would talk of his pride of the squad and how the others were similar, Fell admired that. Fell himself had not joined the Lions purely based on who he felt was the strongest or anything, he didn't care where their standing was as far as admiration. He was chosen and in the end he liked the philosophy and people that were a part of them. He was happy where he was but…”I want a skull! Damn you lucky man, the skull is pretty neat, especially the demon one.” Fell mildly wondered what the general populous thought of the skull, but Fell himself thought of it as a cool accessory.
“Can't blame you for that, I wanna get stronger too, it's why I travel around learning as much as I can, even if it does get me in trouble.” Fell said think back to his interaction with Gold at the tavern. He admired Valo’s goal, it was a solid one and he definitely couldn't blame him for that, he only wondered if it was at all selfish, though Valo didn't seem that way. Though the next question was something Fell got asked often when his history was talked about, and he had grown used to it. “They wiped my birth village off the map when I was a baby, killed my parents and everything. Saw their shadows as they fought only to see their bodies fall onto the shadows later. I hypothesize it's why I have my magic, but I don't know. Grew up with a different mother though, i love her.” Fell said, not really batting an eye. He had grown past being sad about his history and had come to accept it. Many were confused how he could talk so casually about it but he just...did.
Fell didn't even realize what his partner already seemed to until after his sentence. And then he charged, it was obvious something was going down as people were hurrying away from a certain side of the market. Fell didn't even look at his partner only said “Lets go” before quickly pushing his way through. Only on the other side were 8 motley looking individuals banging around a market stall screaming at a man, he was clearly being harrassed by the individuals who were laughing barbarically and drinking, throwing things all over the place. Fell could tell they were intoxicated, but it didn't take away from the fact that they were breaking the law, and in the end would be caught by Fell and Valo. Fell hated people like this, and his blood boiled so fast he didn't even think before acting.
Looking to Valo he said “Take the 4 on the left, I got the right” And Fell quickly sprang on his target. In his eyes they were criminals, and criminals deserve whatever they got. If one looked in Fell’s eyes now the nice boy would be gone, only crackling lightning in anger and disgust remained. These men could not have chosen a worse place to make a fuss, there were so many shadows around from the buildings, people, and market stalls it was amazing. Fell used the looming shadow of the stall next to the one being harassed, and used his go to spell. Anyone watching quickly saw the shadows extend out, jutting into a sharp point and extending into the bodies of the unaware Bandits. One shadow would strike directly into the chest of one individual, while the other escaped with only a shadow to the shoulder, though his arm quickly went limp. Fell cursed his lack of control, only able to truly harness one shadow while the other was mostly luck. Nonetheless now the bandits were aware of what was happening.
As one spurted close to death, and one in pain, three of the four Fell picked stood opposite of him. They all shouted words Fell didn't even hear as he focused again intent on killing one, Fell quickly held up his hand at the one who had been harmed more by his shadow attack and murmured “Die for your sin” And watched as a lightning bolt flew from his hand directly into the heart of the bandit who fell lifelessly to the ground. In all honesty, Fell knew he was probably going too far. But this thought escapes as he saw a body behind the man he just killed, a woman, with blood all over her, who lay right behind the man. Fell’s eyes crackled again, he sought justice.

"Oh I did like it here for what it was. But lets just say I was a bit of a trouble maker so it wasn't always a good time. Plus I didn't want to stay home while being a magic knight. So nah joining the squad here never even came up in my mind. I very much wanted to get away, and travel much like you." Valo said in response to Fell's question from earlier.
Valo had felt for Fell after hearing his story, of course he couldn't blame him for feeling the way that he did given such tragic events. He was surprised that Fell was so open about it though, usually stories like that aren't shared so easily. Not that Valo had any ill intentions after hearing it, but it was something he did take note of. But his thoughts on the matter had to be cut short just like Fell's words. Now was the time to act, loud ruckus and commotion could be heard from one of the market places. It seemed the bandits did indeed choose today of all days to cause some trouble. Valo sighed as his idea of taking it easy today came to an abrupt end. He and Fell rushed over to the scene it was indeed bandits. Eight of them harassing one of the townsfolk now was the time to take action, Fell surprisingly took off first his demeanor changed completely. Now he seemed much more dangerous than before, but Valo didn't think much of it just simply making a mental note of it.
Right now he had to deal with his bandits the four of them it was listed in the reports that some of these bandits could use magic. So Valo's was on guard but he would try to avoid causing to much damage to the surroundings. So he would try his best to avoid using spells of his own, his magic being fire could easily burn and destroy multiple things in the area so Valo had to mostly rely on his martial skills. One of the bandits formed a large hammer made of earth and started rushing towards Valo. Valo seeing the obvious slow attack coming was able to dodge and pivot easily, staying close to the bandit though. But from the corner of his eye he noticed another bandit about to shoot a ice spell towards him so he had to move quickly. He grabbed the bandit that was near him with the hammer by the collar, and maneuvered his body to take the full force of the ice attack. Once that was done Valo kicked him and his frozen body forward at the ice bandit knocking them both down.
Valo heard the creation of another spell behind him though, the other two bandits came charging in one holding a metal spear and the other two swords made of water. Valo started to move back with light hops dodging and weaving between their attacks. While they were bandits that could use some magic, they were untrained and just wild. Their attacks and movements were easy to read and avoid. The bandit holding the metal spear growing very frustrated, went in for a full lunge attack. Dodging it on Valo's part was easy he swayed to the side and stepped in forward landing a hard back fist punch on his nose probably breaking it. The bandit quickly let go of his spear Valo's grabbed it using it to deflect the incoming attacks from the bandits with swords made of water. But Valo's skilled just proved superior, with a quick movement the metal spear slapped the bandit across the face leaving him open for another attack to hit his jaw with the metal spear knocking him out successfully. While Valo's fight wasn't done he did use the slight free moments he had to see how Fell was doing, and his eyes widened in shock.
"Fell! NO!" Valo shouted dropped the metal spear to floor now dashing towards Fell. He would attempt to grab Fell's wrist in order to stop his attacks and get his attention. "Fell these men don't need to die, not like this." Valo said to him in hopes his words would reach him. He saw Fell's eyes were full of anger almost as if he was someone else completely. Valo didn't know Fell well but he had to take the chance to stop him, taking some meager's bandits lives like this was not right. The three renaming bandits that weren't knocked out by Valo used this moment to escape. Leaving one of their men behind.

Fell’s eyes would quickly cease crackling, realizing he had just killed a man. Fell didn't exactly feel bad per se, but he did know that he shouldn'thave done what he did. And knew in the same moment that he needed to resolve this in a much more similar way to his partner, it was too late now for the one guy, but the rest could be stopped a little less deadly now. It was easy to say the one Fell had hit with his shadow was out for the count, he had given up pretty quickly instead trying to tend to his bleeding chest. Fell felt for the man he killed but decided quickly to give chase to those who had run, the remaining one too busy tending to his wounds and scared would most likely be there with the one lying on the ground unconscious. Fell didn't dare speak much to his partner as he watched five men flee the scene, far too worried of what opinions the man might have of him now.
“We have to chase, it's our duty to make sure they can't come back. I wont kill anyone, but I cant fight well hand to hand, I'll only cripple. Sorry for that back there” Was all the boy could get out of his lips as he chased. What was nice about having good magic sense was he had already gotten a grip on the magic of the bandits, they were sticking together too which was mildly hilarious and stupid. “I can tell where they are going to, follow.” Fell said making sure Valo would be behind him. Fell running as fast as he could following his senses hoping the magic he was sensing would be theirs. It wasnt the easiest thing to track their mana, if they were more on the level of the two knights it would be one thing, but there wasnt a huge difference in theirs versus the regular citizen. Thankfully though them being all clustered up helped sense where there was too much, and also they werent too far ahead anyway, Fell could tell by sight alone considering there was people yelling or a broken thing here or there.
Fell followed the group of bandits for a solid few minutes before turning a corner into an alley, probably the tenth or so by now. But the bandits made a mistake, dead end. Now Fell was here with them, all five in front of him trapped with a wall on the other side. “Just break the wall you dumb ass” Fell heard one say. “I cant, I used my ice magic on that guy. You do it.” “fine get out of the way.”
“Stop!” Fell screamed. He didn't want to kill the guys like he had done before, but he also needed to stop them from breaking the wall let alone running. Fell quickly sent out bolts of lightning, two, each towards two bandits who had quickly decided to charge Fell realizing they were trapped. One got hit in the leg where Fell had aimed, getting sent to the ground his leg in immense pain as it was getting volted to the heavens. The other Bandit however brought out a sword slashing away the lightning, and closing quickly slashed at Fell. Ducking fell slid past the man letting his momentum carry him forward as Fell stuck out his leg and the man tripping over it. While Fell was not the best fighter in hand to hand combat, the slightly drunk and horrendously poorly trained men were even worse. As the man was falling Fell planted his back foot and launched himself forward towards the man and the ground, placing his hand on the back of the man's head he slammed it into the ground, knocking him out. Turning around Fell was quick to see a blade of wind coming towards his face. Fell ducked just as the wind blew above his face cutting a chunk into a nearby tree. Still crouching from ducking out of the way Fell would once again hold his hand out and shoot a bolt at the man who had just sent the wind blade. The bolt would hit the man in the side, but only graze him. The man in pain would clutch his side briefly before getting a grip.
“I am running out of mana, I can do another spell, maybe two” Fell would murmur to his teammate as he hoped the man would come through, as now another blade of wind and an ice shard came flying towards the two. At the same moment the man planning to break the wall would be shooting off fire spells at it repeatedly, cracking it slowly. With a teamate on the ground, but still using magic, one slightly wounded, and one unconsious.

Valo stood in place holding onto Fell's arm but let go instantly when he saw he came to his senses. His face looked a lot less angry, and his eyes seemed to relax as well. This put Valo at ease he didn't want to have to fight Fell, he seemed like such a good man but he definitely needed to deal with some things deep in his heart. Valo used to think he got a little to angry at times, but what he saw from Fell was something else entirely. Valo let out a deep sigh of relief when seeing his partner had snapped out of his trance. But he could Fell felt a little embarrassed he avoided Valo's eyes, Valo understood that though if it were he would be embarrassed too. The only thing to do now was move forward. And once he heard Fell was on the same page, Valo smirked and nodded in agreement. "Already ahead you. You don't have to apologize to me, if were on the same wavelength now that's all that matters to me. But I'll let you lead and find them just to make up for it." Valo said as he started to follow Fell path to track the runway bandits. But before he left the area, he yelled at a nearby guard. "Some of the bandits are down for the count over there make sure you arrest so they can't get away."
Valo followed Fell's lead for a few minutes going through alley way after alley way. All this running and tracking was starting to annoy Valo but in all honesty it was his fault for letting them get away. Eventually though Fell managed find them at a dead end, the simpleton bandits were trying to break through a wall.
"Aahhh good work...Fell." But before Valo could finish his sentence. Fell had already went on a offensive and just for a few moments, Valo decided to fall back just to watch Fell push himself. His fighting form and tenacity was different from before, still driven but had no wicked malice behind them. Of course Valo would step in the moment Fell was in some real trouble, but right now he didn't see the real harm in just watching for a bit. Valo was very confident they weren't confident. He heard fell mention he wasn't that great at hand to hand combat, but Valo felt he wasn't that bad at it. He was able to hold his own for a few, of course these bandits weren't well trained and some were drunk which made their movement even more sluggish. But once he heard Fell was running low on mana it was time to step in.
Valo took a few steps back in order to gain some momentum, now that they were in alley way he didn't have to worry about hitting bystanders with his magic. He ran forward while simultaneously activating his spell Flare Accel. A spell that drastically increased his speed while leaving some small embers in trail as he ran. Using his speed and momentum he jumped into the air flipping over Fell while the air he would access another spell on his way back down using his right foot that started to burst in flame performing an arial axe kick that released an arc of intense fire that burst forward clashing with both the wind blade spell and ice shard spells negating them. As soon as Valo landed he continued his offense, now with a burst of intense speed he dashed towards them.
The bandit that was closest to him was the one that used wind spells, before the bandit could even use another spell. Valo had planted his fist on his face, and followed up with another two blows to his ribs. The ice bandit fired off another ice shard spell, but Valo moved much to quickly to be hit by it. He dash continued towards the fire mage attempting to break through the wall. Valo placed his hand on the back of his head, slamming it into the wall Valo did a spin and landed a roundhouse kick to his back slamming into the wall again knocking him out. Valo was confident that Fell would take care of the last bandit left the ice mage bandit.

Fell watched his partner run in head first, the trail behind him being lit up in a mild fire as he kicked the asses of some bandits, even managing to stop the fire mage from breaking the wall. Which in itself was nice not only so they couldn't escape but it meant they didn't break city property which was always a good thing. Now relaxed Fell watched Valo incapacitate two bandits, leaving only one really standing. Another one idling unable to move his leg. The ice mage had been by far the most heavy caster in their group up to this point and had seemingly grown rather tired. Fell only walked towards the mage.
The mage tried firing off another shard, only to see nothing happen. “Seems someone ran out, I have an idea. How about you just turn yourself in and make sure you never do this again?” Fell asked, offering the man one final chance of mercy. “Like Hell!” The bandit said brandishing a spear charging at Fell. Fell laughed to himself, not only was the man already a poor fighter, but now he had already tired himself out using magic and he was an incredibly poor fighter. The best he could manage was to stab outwards closing on Fell. But the man must have not learned his lesson. Fell jumped, not quite like his partner he didn't flip or jump over anyone, only jumped over the stabbing spear. Coming down the cheap spear would snap in half under Fell’s weight coming out of the grip of the bandit, who now began to cower. Fell placed his hand on the man's leg as his hand sparked with lightning “I promise you will feel it again sometime” Fell said as the lightning shot directly into the man's leg who seized and fell to the floor grasping as the pain flowed. On the ground Fell would kick the man in the face to ensure he went unconscious. Picking up the handle half of the broken spear Fell would walk over to the other bandit he had hit earlier, the bandit attempted to fire off another spell only to miss wildly and end up with a blunt spear handle to the head.
With all the bandits out for the count Fell turned to his partner. “Well, we took care of that I guess. Though we gotta find a way to restrain them.” Fell said as he wandered over to his partner, five bandit bodies lying around on the floor. It was quite ironic the lack of black that the two had managed to leave considering the events Fell had caused back at the market. Now it was just shaking legs and fire, and a broken bone here or there. Fell looked down as his shadow, he didn't like the darkness it represented, figuring he would some time need to learn to control his anger. Fell manipulated his magic to make the shadow flicker briefly, making the boy smile. It was nice to know he could control that darkness, even if it wasn't the real problem.
It was nice to know that in the end he was capable of being a fighter who could carry something of his own weight, though his Mana needed some real adjustment. Firing off spells over and over wasn't something he was the best at. Maybe later he would have to learn to regain more, something else to work on as well as his hand to hand skills. Fell wondered if it was best to train himself or try to find someone who could teach him to fight, but in the end he would figure it out at a later date. “Know of any nearby guard posts by chance?” The boy asked Valo “I can wait here with them while you go grab some, keep watch over them.” Fell said as he sat with his back to one of the walls of the alley, Tired from the magic he had expended.

Valo let out a loud yawn as he stretched his back it was good little fight he thought, he had some fun but now it was over. As always Valo enjoyed a good scrap it was to bad these bandits were not only drunk but poorly trained in magic and fighting skills. But the number of them made it at the least bit sort of entertaining. From the looks of it the job was completed for the most part, the true point of the patrols was to capture all the bandits which they have done. But they most likely had to continue their patrols until the day was finished though.
Valo heard Fell's suggestion that he wait and watch the bandits while he go grab some guards and Valo had just the right idea to get some of the guards attention. Valo walked out of the alley way casually and turned the corner seeing a townsgaurd in the distance just lazing about. "Oi! You! Lazy guard bum! We got some bandits here! Get some of your ugly friends to round them up!!" Valo shouted toward the guard. The sudden loud shout awoke him and he scrambled eventually doing what Valo had demanded. Valo returned to Fell to help him up on his feet. "Welp the bandits are taken care of, but I guess our patrol continues. Hopefully the rest of the day is a slow one cause I need a break." Valo said with hands behind his head, continuing on with the patrol.
Fell was grateful his partner was much more willing to walk out into the street and shout about to get the nearest guards attention. He was also grateful Fell himself was able to be useful. It was just now that everything was over that he wondered what the man would think of him, while it was clear Fell was rather quiet and nice normally, there was an inner demon somewhere that needed to be fought. Fell wouldn't realize that maybe the very thing he talked about so casually was eating him out from the inside. Fell’s worry though was only that he didn't want this to become the norm. He liked being a knight, and maybe his drive to protect people by any means was in some way a positive, but killing simple bandits was probably too far.
Fell graciously took the help of Valo and stood up, feeling more and more recovered as time passed on. He was happy the man at least seemed to sort of let things go for now, and hopefully he had made a friend from this. The man was nice, and seemed like an energy that Fell could really mesh with and needed. And now he knew something Fell didn't even know about himself before today. But in the end, it was also the first person Fell had ever been in battle with, and that was something to him. One might say it was weird that a Lion thought the Mantis was much stronger than he was as a human being, but Fell simply saw it that way. Yet he followed the man for the rest of the patrol.
The rest of the day would follow much like the start, walking around feeling better and better as his magic would return. But this time there were no more interruptions. Maybe the fairly large fight had deterred any criminals who had originally planned any sort of wrongdoings from doing them on that very day, and for Fell. That was enough. “Thank you for the day, it was nice even though some things went wrong.” Fell would say to the man before parting. “We should talk again soon”. Fell said walking off to the capital.
