Rosalia exhaled as she sat next to Zaven quietly. Her head lay on his shoulder as the moon shone down upon the pair of them, offering them a few hours of reprieve as they neared the location of the next leyline, somewhere around Hage. Her mind was filled with the earlier images of Fezek, his minions…those poor witches. She knew that had she chosen to quit the Magic Knights, she’d have possibly ended up the way they did… [break][break] The beauty’s expression was calm and cold, despite the different nauseating thoughts that rammed through her head repeatedly. She’d napped for two hours, and that sleep seemed to be her only sanctuary. Her decision to put that woman out of her misery wouldn’t haunt her after a few glasses of alcohol anyways. [break][break] “Zaven…how many other leylines are there?” She asked, her voice rather monotone. It was carried away by the wind from Typhon’s wings with ease. Rosalia knew she was doing the right thing in helping her Kingdom and its citizens, but fuck, was this shit the type that should be put in war crime books. She’d studied military strategy on her own through book she’d borrowed from the Grand Magic Archives…but the tactics that the daemons used were far off of traditional magical war planning. They played by no rules. [break][break] Her hands wrapped around the head of the Blake family’s shoulders and she pulled him in for a warm hug. It was what she needed, and probably what he did too in this time of crisis and catastrophe. In reality, they were at war. All of the Magic Knights were, and that meant there was no guarantee either of them would survive to see the next morning. So… [break][break] The beauty glanced over the Captain of the Golden Dawn and a small smile crossed her lips before she leaned up and pressed a very quick and soft kiss. She’d enjoy all of the little moments she could get with her best friend and lover. They had no bed or…safety, but the company, the familiarity, the scent and warmth was enough to put the beauty at ease. [break][break] “In all honesty, I’m glad Malcolm sent me to find and help you, because knowing what I now know, I’d want to definitely give them all a piece of my mind.” She joked softly and her face’s features softened significantly. It was her coping mechanism as a workaholic after all, crude humor and flirtations. The moon lit up Zaven’s eyes in a pale light, almost making them glow. This was his territory…these shadows…And she had no fear of being here. She trusted him fully. [break][break] “We should be nearing the next location you mentioned soon…how do you feel about combat at night? You should be fully in your element, shouldn’t you?” This was more in line with her honest closet nerd curiosity. She also had a shadow oddity to her Ice, and found it to be more dangerous at night. It was spikier, colder and harder to see. All real surprises to an enemy bad with the dark. [break][break] Rosalia moved back to casually tap her grimoire before stretching and yawning softly. They were close. They had to do their best. And maybe then they could finally grab some proper long rest time. [break][break]

[attr="class","zavenreescroll"] The flight to the next area of concern would take them through Hage, Zaven had last visited the place to meet Bucket and subsequently recruit him into the Golden Dawn a while back, and since then he had made sure to secure a plot of land for the Golden Dawn in the Forsaken Region. A place they could stop for the night and take a break, their first day out was an eventful one...and not in a good way either. Rosalia looked worse for wear since she exited Fezek’s tent...he hoped that they would never have to encounter something like that again, but something told him that the thought was just that...a thought. After a few moments Rosalia asked him just how many Leylines there were and to be honest...Zaven did not have an answer. The rumor was that they crossed the planet and only certain areas were true wells of power. ”When last I investigated the leylines there were five areas in total that held the power. I assume that the daemons are attacking…” He did not finish as he was given a comforting hug and then soon after a soft kiss. He did not have an answer for this but he embraced her and returned the kiss gently as he listened to her next words. Giving the daemons a piece of her mind...if what he saw with the first bastard was true...he did not want her ANYWHERE near them. Yet he still nodded because he knew it was better for her to be with him now than to be stuck in one of the affected areas. Then when she said that they would be reaching Hage next she asked if he was comfortable fighting at night. What she did not know about the Black noble was that his life was built around being in the dark...He was never truly comfortable anywhere else. In the darkness one could disappear, in the darkness everything was equal, in the darkness you could hide what was not meant to be seen. He simply replied, ”Yes...the shadows of the night are easier to work around for me, I find it comforting...and yes Hage is our target so that we can take a small break before heading to the leyline. If need be we can stop and wait until…” [break][break]
Flying over Hage village it was easy to feel the mana coming from the newly erected tower that was at the center of the town where the church once stood. Why were they always a step behind, were the reports wrong...what was this. ”Rosalia...stay here...I am going to go take a look inside of the village, Typhon will take you to the Golden Dawn safehouse just inside the treeline.” He did not wait for her answer as Typhon dipped down just over the spire and the Shadow of Dawn leapt off of the back of the shadow golem and looked at Rosalia before grabbing hold of the spire...if there were more like the witches...he did not want her to have to witness hiom doing the deeds that needed to be done. Hraban was not at Zaven’s side once more as the spirit floated around Rosalia’s left shoulder.
Five? A short nod followed as Rosalia took in the information Zaven conveyed. That meant that they possibly had to fight at least five more of these gruesome fuckers before properly crumbling their forces outside of the main attacks. They were like a small elite task force of two people, and while many were bound to a horrible fate in these testing times, the pair of Magic Knights would do their best to lessen those numbers as much as they could. It was their job (and incidentally, Rosalia’s passion.)
She was happy that he embraced her when their lips met. His warmth was relaxing, as was his whole presence. Rosa trusted him with her safety, her thoughts…her little secrets. The Captain of the Golden Dawn had been her childhood crush, and still managed to excite the witch with his responses to her. The witch then listened to him talk about how comfortable he was in the shadows and her ruby eyes held his azure gaze with honest curiousity. He paused midway through his next sentence. [break][break] “What is it?” The Vice-Captain of the Black Bulls asked, suddenly on alert. She followed his gaze down, spotting the silhouette of the dark towering structure he’d seen as well. The witch was already getting up when Zaven told her to stay there. Her crimson hues met up with his and her face attained a look of disbelief. As the Blake didn’t even give her a shot to respond and jumped off down onto the tower. Hraban appeared on her shoulder… but she was having a hard time processing what had just gone down. [break][break] In about five seconds, the one man she trusted had managed to offend her on the deepest level. Her sanctuary had become her reason for anger. Was she not good enough? A battle of attrition went through her head in split seconds. Defy him and let her anger take over, or listen to him and then scream at him when he got back…if he got back. Good lord she wanted to slap him at this very moment. [break][break] The ice witch looked over at Hraban, a scary look suddenly on the face of the beautiful woman. She was fury incarnate for a few seconds before her ice affinity take over. Her emotions cooled, and fell to the bottom of her soul like rocks. With a little sigh, the witch petted Typhon before jumping off of him in one swift motion. “Stay there Typhon!” She shouted at the golem before focusing back down on the tower. Wherever the hell Zaven had gone… [break][break] “Listen up,” Rosalia spoke to Hraban as gravity began pulling them down, her grimoire floated next to her. “I’m gonna fuck your master up so hard when I get my hands on him for pulling that stunt.” The ice witch hissed coldly before murmuring “Frostbite” under her breath. The long whip of black ice leather appeared in her hand and she gripped it, quickly cracking it to grab a hold onto one of the weird appendages the tower seemed to have on it. As she landed, the beauty inhaled and glared silently at the nearby enemies that had quickly noticed her loud entrance. [break][break] She couldn’t quite see their proper shapes, but something about the way their eyes glowed in a horrific shade of pink made her twitch. And they were all staring at her like she was meat too! Rosalia really wasn’t in the mood for them. She was looking for Zaven to scream at. [break][break] Her gaze could barely make out where and how many enemies there were, as sensory wasn’t her specialty. Messyness was! So was the chaos behind her AOE spells. And her anger was not going to allow for these things to get in her way to finding the Captain of the Golden Dawn and slapping him upside the face hard. [break][break] The Damned began moving towards her, and by the set of eyes she could count at least eight in the outside with her. Hopefully they weren’t Cyclops. [break][break] “Sheer cold.” She murmured, the area around her dropping in temperature significantly as a large blast of ice hit between the enemies, taking out the back three. At least, the Black Bull thought so, because she couldn’t see that eerie pink glow of eyes anymore. She then cracked her whip once at another one of the Damned, hitting it straight in the center of the head and seemingly ending it instantly. The other four enemies coordinated their attacks, as two of them jumped at the beauty with close ranged firsts, whereas the other two stayed back and attempted to attack her from further away. [break][break] Her ruby hues narrowed.

[attr="class","zavenreescroll"] He landed on the roof of the church and let out a deep long breath as four of the damned jumped up on the roof with him. He knew that these minions were twisted creatures of the daemon in charge and with the mana source under his feet. He was sure this was the spot. ”Erebus Strike” He was already making the motion to pull the drawstring back and notch an arrow as the damned raced after him. He was at a disadvantage if they got close, but from this distance. He slowed his breath as the creatures seemed to move slower, this was a type of battle technique he found himself using more and more often as he used the bow and arrow both physically and through using a spell. He fired off the shadow arrows quickly, feeling the mana of the other damned inside his radius of attack he just drew the drawstring back as an arrow would materialize and find its target up on launch. All in all the damned on the rooftop were dead before their heads struck the shingles of the church. The ones away from the church had already mostly fallen, but a few remaining ones he aimed his bow and let fly three arrows at the daemons that Rosalia was fighting as he came back into his normal focused view. That was when he felt the most terrifying mana source since that time back in the Diamond War...Rosalia’s ice mana was raging and he could feel her mana near the spot he let those arrows loose. ”Shit...of course she didn’t stay on Typhon.” He sighed as he willed Typhon to make its way back to Hage as Zaven held the bow in his right hand as he knew the church in Hage had a central stained glass window near the spire. He took off and then grabbed the edge of the roof before swinging his body forward, crashing through the glass like some storybook hero, flying through the rafters into the darkened church below, his feet landed on the oak panels of the floor as he took aim with his bow immediately. [break][break]
The scene around him was taken in an instant as he also found out exactly what he needed to know. The women and children of Hage village were in chains and cages in the twisted newly nightmarishly decorated church. Where the altar was...a throne, with a female daemon sitting there staring at the Golden Dawn captain with great curiosity and lust. Around her were the men of the village, all sporting those same pink glowing eyes…”So these are the damned…At least they are not being tortured like the others…Do not wor…” He was about to tell them not to worry, but the female daemon stood, and the charmed Hage men made way, a few tripping over themselves as she was quick to be at Zaven’s side in a moment before wrapping her arm around her and whispering into his ear seductively. ”Ahhh...finally someone good looking...these little boys are...appetizing, but they don’t satisfy the need I have. How about joining me, I promise to make it worth your while.” She would say while moving around him, taking in his form fully, moving her hands along his body...the toned muscles that showed through his torn clothing from the last battle with Fezzek. Zaven was entranced, he knew he was ensnared in a curse of some sort and he would need to think fast lest he ended up like one of the damned or worse. [break][break]
Inside he felt the feminine charm working at his mind, breaking down his walls...but he also saw the worried faces of both, the damned Hage males and those caught in chains, he knew he had to do something, but for now it was easier to try and get her to release him so that he could get close to her...to...ki...touch her...to serve her...to be with her. Always. His thoughts were becoming clouded. He wanted to fight out, but the more she touched him and the more she whispered into his ear…the more his will slipped away. ”Ros...alia..” He found the strength as his will was just about to be broken. Taking a swing at her his azure eyes glowed as he shut down all of his thinking. He did not speak now as he felt the men of Hage swarm over him and begin to punch and claw at him as the female daemon smiled and began to laugh to herself as she fetched a child...no older than a year and flew up to the rafters and held the screaming toddler with two fingers she would dangle her while calling out to the Shadow of Dawn. ”SUBMIT! Or the little one becomes paint for the walls.” Zaven looked up with despair as he thought for a split second as the female daemon did not offer a second chance...she dropped the child. Zaven screamed and bared his fangs. He was reminded of every pain he had ever experienced as he fought back against these magically imbued Hage citizens, but he knew that he would not make it in time so he screamed in agony before aiming the bow, letting loose the arrow in a single opening as the arrow pierced through the toddler’s blanket and it hung just inches above the ground as Zaven held the spell he activated the Final Abyss Armor and he was reminded of his battle at the tower during the shattering. He pushed past his limits and dug his feet into the boards as they splintered when he sprinted forward. Diving as his arrow dissolved and his bow dissolved when he caught the toddler. Laying on the ground, the toddler cried before he felt the malicious gaze. [break][break]
He quickly turned and made a shell for the child as those Hage villagers had weapons now, farming tools, and they attacked Zaven brutally as the remaining women screamed and begged for them to stop. Zaven felt the pain as his mana skin did not hold up for long under their attacks, the cuts and impacts on his back were definitely painful...but the toddler just seemed to calm in his arms amid the chaos. The female daemon waved her hand and the possessed men of Hage stopped. She landed before Zaven before summoning a whip and lashing out around his neck, the viscous display was enough to cause even the most stalwart woman to cringe as the female daemon tugged hard, and put her spiked heel in his back. Zaven refused to let out a single sound of pain as he was there on the ground. He winced as he looked down at the Toddler. ”It will be alright little one...Just a bit longer.”
She didn’t have the time or the patience to deal with these motherfuckers. The eerie pink glow was more like an annoying afterthought to the beauty who just wanted to tear Zaven a new one. He wouldn’t be hearing the end of it once she got her hands on him again. [break][break] Rosalia swung her ice whip around, taking out the backline of ash magic users before dropping down to dodge one of the close ranged magic users. Unfortunately the other one dug into her shield, making her hiss and swing a kick at him. Her heels touched the solid ground as she glared up at the remaining two visible enemies. Who were now dropping down towards her. The shield from her Sheer Cold spell had managed to hold off that attack, breaking in the process, and Rosalia didn’t want to lose her mana shield before facing the dumb Blake. Those little dark voices that she loved to listen to when she thought of…bad things to do were now screaming in pure rage. [break][break]
“Won’t you two just GET OUT OF MY FUCKING WAY!” The Black Bull Vice-Captain’s voice rose as she grabbed her second whip from around her thigh and swung both of them towards the enemies, wrapping the edges around them and then, with the help of momentum and mana, slamming them through the wooden door entrance of the church. The beauty calmly walked over to the door and stepped over the knocked out enemies. Her anger was divulging from dark fury to icy apathy. Her heels clicked against the stone and wood before the beauty began climbing up the stairs, wrapping her second whip around her thigh again, while keeping the first one on hand in case more idiots decided to attempt to stop her from finding Zaven Blake. The Golden Dawn Captain would not be getting off easy!
[break][break] The ice witch found herself speeding up the steps to the top tower of the church, meeting two more sets of pink glowing eyes. “You’ve gotta be fucking kidding me.” She hissed under her breath. At this point every sentence she spoke had a curse word in it, and clearly the amount of time she was spending with her Captain in his office was showing. Rosalia had picked up some of the conversational habits of her best friend back home.
[break][break] “MOVE!” Her voice rang through the air as she whipped her weapon around and slammed the first one of the enemy Damned into the wall, knocking him out. The second one was quick to charge at her and the beauty’s adrenaline rushed through to her brain once more. Her grimoire flipped over its pages and glowed in its ominous red light before the beauty breathed out a “Winter’s Kiss” spell out at the man. His back slammed against the door, causing it to break open as he fell into the room. Rosalia wiped her mouth but kept her shield from the spell, her ruby eyes burning like gems as her heels clicked into the dark room.
[break][break] “ZAVEN BLAKE!” She screamed violently, fury gripping her whole body, as she looked around the room for him. Rosalia was horrible at sensing mana signatures, and also lacked ki, so the only thing she could originally feel was the familiarity that was The Golden Dawn male’s mana from this room. She didn’t expect the 30 or 40 so other grown-ups, enemies and… Zaven crawled up in a ball and just taking hits? The red-head was puzzled for a few seconds before her hues landed on a particularly well-endowed female daemon.
[break][break] “Who the fuck are you?”
[break][break] The question was brutally blunt. And she could see the creature sitting on the throne stare at her quietly. Whatever Zaven had done to distract her, clearly it had worked, because the daemon seemed completely caught off-guard by the Vice-Captain’s appearance.
[break][break] “You deaf or what?” The ice witch then turned back to Zaven and cracked her whip slapping two of the four enemies off of him, knocking them out by the head. The daemon’s eyebrows twitched in annoyance, and while the ice-using beauty couldn’t truly understand what was going on in her head, she could tell something was making her angry.
[break][break] Four large nightmare-horse-like ash demons suddenly spawned around Rosalia, making her eyes widen in surprise. Shit, the lady at the throne was strong.
[break][break] “You will call me Yershina, Queen of the Damned, and inherently, of you.”
[break][break] The ice witch scoffed visibly and rolled her eyes before barely ducking down to dodge a strike from the golem closest to her. She rolled sideways, grabbing her second whip off of her thigh once more, before cracking it to wrap around the ash horse golem and, with some good momentum, swung herself over above it, and landed on top of the heads of the remaining two damned battering Zaven’s back. It wasn’t what she’d wanted, and she’d feel her shield crack and fade as she evidently distracted the Damned off of the Golden Dawn Captain.
[break][break] “I’m…so mad at you!” She gasped out as she met his azure eyes. He looked beat, but damn was he still so fucking gorgeous he could make an angel sin.

[attr="class","zavenreescroll"] Hearing the commotion, starting with hearing Rosalia’s voice he wanted to turn, but the baby was still crying in his arms as he softly shushed the baby without wincing or showing pain, he just bathed the baby in his shadow aura so that it could be as comfortable as possible. The doors of the church slammed open, and there was brief pause. He heard Yershina chuckle, and it was one of those chuckles that was cute, but also terrifying as a shiver ran down his spine, that same shiver he had not felt since facing off against the horde in the Witches Forest. He honestly hated dealing with daemons most of all in this line of work. He wanted to warn Rosalia, but the men that all were attacking him returned to doing so. Yershina stepped towards Rosalia and just smiled at her as their little exchange happened. After a brief scuffle he heard the daemon’s voice again, his mind ached as he heard it. He smiled as he heard the familiar landing and boots clicking against the floor as Rosalia made her move to get close to him. He finally looked up at her, his eyes meeting hers as his reveal also showed the baby he had been protecting. ”Yeah that was a dirty trick I did...I am sorry, we can argue about it later...first we kick this things ass and move on. Could you do me a favor and get this baby and the others out of here...I need to finish off this bitch before anything else happens.” He would say as he would slowly stand, offering the baby to her, he hoped she would take it at that point. Inside of his head he was fighting back against the pull from Yershina...if this continued his mind would break and he would go insane, but to put all these people in danger...the only thing he could think to do right at that moment was get everyone to safety. He stood tall now as long as Rosalia had the baby he could think straight, but there were holes in his mantle and cuts along his back that revealed the skin underneath. He was hurt alright, but as usual for Zaven he just shrugged it off. [break][break]
Yershina looked at the silly girl and the mage that intrigued her once before. She hated it when her toys were taken from her. Especially by this...filthy human, so when the male handed her the child she waved her hands towards the smitten men from the village and directed them towards the cages where the other women were being kept. ”Very well...first I will just kill everyone in this village...then take this boy here for my own trophy...I will kill you last you dumb little human.” She said with a mocking laugh as she held up a hand, the ash horse golems reformed and began to strut towards them.
Rosalia’s ruby hues were burning with a blood red rage as she looked down at Zaven, finally meeting his gorgeous Azure eyes before travelling below him. And her hot anger turned into cold fury as her hues turned again towards the female demoness. A child…Of course. That explained why one of the most powerful men in the kingdom was letting himself get trampled by a bunch of mind-controlled mcguffins. While she was angry at Zaven for leaving her up on the Shadow Dragon, she could understand his selfless mindset, after all, they were alike in that aspect. They believed every soul could be saved and they preferred not to make easy sacrifices…they took the hard way out. It was frowned upon by other Magic Knights like Lydia, but it was how they viewed their vows to the Kingdom. It was how Rosa saw hers. Everyone could be saved. Every soul, no matter how damned, unless it was completely gone. Perhaps I should’ve joined the church with that mindset? She almost chuckled. She couldn’t imagine herself in all white praying in front of an altar for aid. No, Rosalia did all of the work herself. She had no fear of getting into the mud and doing the dirty work. It was why she was a Magic Knight, after all. [break][break] Zaven’s words triggered her again as he decided that he wanted to stay and fight the evil daemoness with big boobs on his own. It made Rosalia raise an eyebrow. She took the baby off of him and gave him a very low, animalistic growl, to show exactly how she felt about his decision again. Selfless prick. That’s what her best friend was.
Raising a hand, almost as if to slap Zaven, the ice witch instead grabbed the collar of his shirt and pulled him down, crashing her lips against his for a brief kiss, before pulling away and giving him a low hiss. “This is what you’re missing out on tonight if you don’t get back in one piece, jerk.” Her voice was a low whisper as her mana surrounded the pair briefly, cooling the room before she tore herself away from him and looked towards the cages on the side of the room. Her way was blocked.
The beauty cracked the whip in her free hand at one of the last two damned, knocking them sideways as she made a mad dash for the cages, wincing as her shields from Sheer Cold and Winter’s Kiss shattered as an Ash Golem managed to strike her. The beauty still had her mana shield but she had to be careful. She quickly froze the locks of the cages solid before giving them a smack with her whip, cracking the cages open.
[break][break] “Come on, you all heard the Shadow of Dawn, with me.” Her voice was icy and commanding as her ruby eyes glowed in the dark tower, moving between the movement of the golems and then back at the people she had to protect. They could do this. It would be tricky, but they could. “Okay, we’re gonna move slowly. One by one down the stairs. ” She hissed as she moved in between the women, children and elderly and the giant pair of Ash golems. Her stronger spells were on cooldown, so she had to be smart. The child started crying in her arms and she glanced down at it briefly before cracking her whip at one of the nightmare golems that got closer. She moved slowly with the people, walking backwards, her gaze not leaving that of Yershina, Zaven and the golem enemies.
[break][break] “Hope you have good fight left in you Zaven, cause I’ll come back and if you’re not okay we’re gonna have problems.” She warned, clearly joking and trying to get the mood up a little as she cracked her whip one more time and then barely dodged one of the Nightmare Golems as it ran into the wall besides her. Fucking hell. Once the last person was out of the room she followed them slowly, still keeping an eye out.

Those lips crashing upon his, as he savored it for a moment he also knew that there was no time to get sentimental on the battlefield...so when she pulled back and said those words, Zaven of course being the man that he is just gave a short reply as he turned to face the female daemon, Yershina. ”Don’t worry Rosalia, you will get all of me later.” He said as he summoned up the strength to fight, he felt the charms of the daemon penetrate his mind but only gave a small smile before taking off in a dead sprint towards Yershina. He glanced to the side as he reached out with his left hand. ”Erebus Strike!” He called out as his grimoire glowed and the shadow bow appeared. The shadow zone was established as Yershina called her golems forth. Rosalia made another small joke as Zaven delivered a swift kick to one of the Damned as he made a quip ”Don’t worry I will show you how much fight I have. Get going.” He called out as the nightmare that charged after Rosalia was quickly dealt with as he shot the damn thing without looking, the last thing that Rosalia would see would be the golem turning to ash as Zaven started the counter attack. [break][break]
”Seems that my intuition was wrong this time...no matter it will be hard for you to resist when you are dead...like your little girlfriend said...I hope you have some fight in you left, it will be a shame to dominate someone that is weak.” She said as her face turned into that of a terror, charging after Zaven, pulling out her own weapon as the other foes closed in on the Shadow of Dawn. Zaven waited till he could feel Rosa’s mana outside the church as he let out a cool, collected breath before his mana finally released, a dominating aura spread throughout the area. The Golems, soulless dolls of the daemon even hesitated as Yershina herself stopped for a moment. She realized too late just how dangerous Zaven really was as she doubled down and struck out of fear more than out of determination. A desperate swipe from her left hand was flung back as the Shadow of Dawn let loose a small volley of arrows, moving quicker than most could process. He smacked the female daemon across her chest with the bow. The strike was enough to cause distraction as the top she was wearing tore and Zaven nearly suffered a catastrophic nosebleed as he saw her chest. The daemon did nothing to cover herself and instead took his hesitation to send a pew flying into him. Zaven was resilient and activated his Final Abyss at that same moment as the pew hit him. He was sent flying into the large cross that hung over the pulpit, splintering the damn thing as it fell over. Zaven recovered quickly as he returned fire with his bow. The arrow narrowly missed, and even with its homing ability the movements were too quick to stop anything as it slammed into the front of the church. He stood out of the debris and was clutched by his throat by Yershina. Again with this kind of shit….it was getting old real quick so he decided to try something unorthodox to throw her off her game. [break][break]
A quick fade to black moment… [break][break]
Yershina stood there wide eyed as Zaven felt like throwing up, he was able to make her back away using some rather...underhanded tactics...but she did nearly crush his windpipe in retaliation. Before the two could properly strike back at each other however, Zaven felt the church begin to crumble...the roof crashed in, causing Zaven to tumble just out of the way, bringing his bow up he shot a volley of four shadow arrows. Then...silence. [break][break]
Outside, the damn villagers placed under Yershina’s spells were returned to their normal selves...a few of them were dead from the attacks and could not be recovered...there were always losses in war of course. There was a young couple however, frantically searching and asking about their child...the mother remembered that the daemon liked the taste of those that were pure and young...there were many families that did not have their children now...a sad sight, found Rosalia and began to cry as she knew it was her baby, she asked Rosalia for the child as a few gasps were heard and some more sobbing as a few moments later, Zaven stepped out of the church with a few others with him. A total of 18 children, but only two toddlers were what remained of the humble village's young population. The children were kept in the basement and the corpses that Zaven found...he did not want to recount the tale. The church was starting to be set ablaze behind them, an eerie blue flame inside where Yershina’s corpse was. The kids ran to their families as Zaven turned back towards the church. There was no way she was still alive...absolutely no way right? [break][break]
”Everyone step back! This fight may not be over after all…” He said with a sneer as he got into a fighting stance, his grimoire floating near his head as the visage of a very scorned woman began to step towards the busted doors of the church. A very wounded Yershina...or what was left...was stepping towards Zaven looking like she was going for something akin to mutually assured destruction.
Rosalia smirked a little to herself when he said she would have all of him later. Boy she certainly hoped so. Cause if she received anything less than a fully functional Zaven…she didn’t know what she’d do. The beauty was sent here by Malcolm to aid their friend…and yet the Blake was telling her to stay away again. And she was so ready to give him a piece of her mind once they were done with this damn place. He assured her as she left to “not worry” which the witch could only shake her head about before descending down the staircase. She’d see the nightmare golem following her turn to ash and chuckled before continuing down. [break][break] The mana that mixed with the blood in her veins was cold. The shadows were biting at her feet, but she pushed back all of the bad thoughts and followed through with the task she was given. Zaven was her superior after all, in one way or another. [break][break] “Be careful, don’t push one another!” [break][break] It was one at a time. She held the baby to the chest, careful not to squeeze too tight as she continued to shower the fleeing women and children with her voice. “Keep going! We’re making good progress!” Rosalia was feeling ridiculous, not being on the field of combat. She glanced down at the baby in her hands. It was small…perhaps three months old. It’s eyes hadn’t even attained its full vision, being a darkish-grey blue and its scalp was heavy and thin. A small child, one that wouldn’t be able to survive without its mother. [break][break] “Come on! There’s the door!” Her voice echoed along. To herself…she sounded cold. Her voice was loud, but not earthshatteringly deep. No, it more came down to be like that of a samodiva, a siren…a nature spirit of some kind. One that the people no doubt seemed to need as she helped here and there in picking up children and ladies who, in their rush, almost fell down the stairs. [break][break] “Alright, move forwards.” Rosalia stepped out of the tower last and directed the people out into a large open area, graced by the moonlight’s warmth. In it, her ice felt cooler, and her shadow-imbued spells grew difficult to see, as they blended in with the night. [break][break] “Everyone should catch their breaths…” She spoke as she rocked the baby gently with one hand. A young woman, quite beautiful in fact, quickly made her way to the Black Bull before seeming to stop and, shaking reached out of the child. The ice witch raised an eyebrow. [break][break] “Are you the mother?” [break][break] The hands pulled back. Her lips opened but no sound came out. Rosalia paused and observed the woman. If only her magic had been something different…if only she’d have been able to start a fire, or a ray of sunshine, to warm the quivering people on this cool summer night. She could hear a loud crumbling sound from behind them…and a puff of dust spread over the air. The tower was falling… [break][break] “…sister…” The Black Bull caught the quiet whisper among the whimpering and crying women and children that she was watching over. Ah… [break][break] “This is your sister’s child?” [break][break] Despite all of the shaking, Rosalia managed to make out a small nod. With a little smile, and stern eyes, the beauty handed over the young child to the young woman. She could see the look of thankfulness in her eyes before she went back to join the other women and children. Then a young couple, clearly frantic came over to her, and she relayed the information of the little baby’s whereabouts, earning thankful smiles amongst litres of tears. [break][break] The beauty could feel her iciness get crushed a bit at the sight before her, and she turned her head up to look at the moon and stars in order to distract herself. War was a bitch. [break][break] Rosalia’s ruby gaze turned to look for Zaven in the darkness. He was coming towards them…but then he stopped. Turning towards the church as something moved from there... Her eyes narrowed and an icy chill ran through the air. In a second, the beauty’s annoyance had gone over the moon. She was a fury who just wanted the people, and her idiot friend, safe for the night. [break][break] Her heels couldn’t be heard over the soft green grass, but her whisper on the air definitely could. As the grimoire that was glowing dark red besides the beauty flipped its pages over and lit up once more, her lips had already chosen her weapon of choice. [break][break] “Winter’s Kiss.” A dark cone-shaped spiral of black ice flew from her lips over at Yershina before she could reach Zaven. Her didn’t know if that would be enough to finish off the daemoness, but she hoped so. If not, she fully expected the Captain of the Golden Dawn to have been ready to react just as well as she had. [break][break] The beauty wiped her lips after hitting Yershina with her spell, and muttered a very cool. “And stay down, bitch.” [break][break] She could hear a few of the children asking their mother’s the meaning of that last word in the background shortly after. Rosalia’s gaze turned towards Zaven for a brief moment. [break][break] “Are you alright?”

Description: Rosalia opens her pretty red lips and breathes a cone of miniature black ice spikes, so small that they appear a painful black blizzard to her enemies who take senior damage upon impact. Allies found within the range of the Winter's Kiss (Including the caster) instead receive a senior rank shield of black glacial mana that will protect them.[break][break]
Before he could strike out against the daemon he heard the voice of Rosalia as she cast her signature spell. The Winter’s kiss would leave a cool sensation at his back asYershina would not stand a chance. Hearing the words of the Black Bull’s Vice Captain, Zaven would smile as he watched the withered husk of Yershina freeze before cracking and falling apart, lifting the magical hold she had on the villagers and Hage as a whole. The final nail in the coffin as it were as she walked closer to Zaven, asking if he was alright, and the Shadow of Dawn just turned around and looked at her and smiled as he usually did. ”As best as a man could be I believe. Let’s get this fire out and make sure the villagers are returned home, I will make sure that the church is rebuilt after we are through checking the Leylines...but I am tired.” He said with a soft, yet sure tone. The people then crowded around the two Magic Knights and a few that knew how to use basic water magic put out the blaze in a matter of minutes as the sorrowful glances turned hopeful as they looked at the pair. After about an hour of simple cleanup, the villagers returned to their homes, satisfied by the work done...letting Rosalia know that they appreciated all she did for them. Zaven was still at the church, fighting off the blaze to find the husk of the daemon. [break][break]
It took him about two hours to find the husk as he finished obliterating the husk till there was nothing left. The villagers still were lacking basic provisions, so Zaven made a quick run to the Golden Dawn safehouse and brought all the food and basic supplies he could, he did not say any words as he delivered; food, blankets, and other necessities. When it was all done it was looking to be close to dawn as the villagers had finally gone to their homes. Zaven would find Rosalia and smile at her as the pair were finally reunited. ”I can only assume your night was as eventful as mine with cleanup and helping families get back to their homes. We could still go to the Golden Dawn safe house...though there is not much left in terms of food, drink, or even blankets. But we can wash up and get a little rest...we still have a few spots to go through.” He said as he offered to fly them on his golem, if she allowed that is, otherwise it would be a pleasant walk for the pair back through the woods and to a very homely looking cabin. [break][break]
Inside Zaven would first take off his mantle and long coat, leaving him in tattered clothing as he jest tore the remainder of his shirt off and threw it to the side. ”If you wish to go wash up first, I don’t mind. There are still a few things I can cook with and I think a bottle of liquor. The issue is that there is only one bed here. So just let me know what you want done and we will do it.” He would say to her, knowing that there was about to be an onslaught of words yelled at the man for his actions that night. He did not mind it however, as long as Rosalia was safe and they got the job done. He could endure the yelling to see her smile in the end.
Rosalia smiled back at Zaven as he responded to her. Some part of her was still mad at him for ditching her in the first place. But another, much large part of her just wanted to hug him and make sure he was okay. They had already displayed way more affection for one another publically in front of the people of the village, however, and the recollection of the seen kiss from earlier made Rosalia glance away nervously. She should’ve had better self-control. [break][break] The beauty nodded at the Blake’s quick and simple orders of getting the fire out and returning the people of the village back to their houses. The villagers helped out and soon, it seemed like all was just a bad nightmare. When a pair of children came over to thank the red-haired witch, Rosalia kneeled down and ruffled their charred heads of hair.
[break][break] “Please, the one you should really be thanking is the Captain of the Golden Dawn. I simply helped.”
[break][break] The woman smiled and waited for Zaven to return from his roaming about the ruins of the burned building which still blazed. She kneeled down and took in a deep breath before looking back up at the moon. It was moving behind the horizon, and the sky was turning light. Her mana reserves were running low.
[break][break] “Honestly, all I wanna do right now is sleep.” The beauty said with a yawn as she stood up and walked over to him, climbing up onto his golem and letting him take her to the Golden Dawn Safe house.
[break][break] Once in, she’d nod and peck the male’s cheek for letting her shower first. Her fingers slid over to her zipper, taking off the tight black one-piece before she moved into the shower. He’d get her rage after a good rest.
[break][break] “If we have some rice for a risotto, that would be nice.” She’d call out as the water washed the sweat and tiredness away, warming her freezing body up.
