"Don't need a reason to seek strength."
Rogue's Refuge the home of criminals, thieves, and other things just alike. The sky in this part of clover was always grey and always in a overcast as if it was about to start pouring. A town that the Green Mantis magic knight was very familiar with, like most members of his squad his past was rather shady. Most members in Green mantis were people who were given second chances to fight on the right side of the law, and Valo though young fell in that same category. Though he was a loyal members of the magic knights now, he still knew pretty well how the Rogues Refuge worked and breathing it's air again brought back some memories.
Valo of course wouldn't come to place like this for no reason, he was on some magic knight business but also some personal stuff. Despite where his standing in life now, he still had some friends and links to his past life. Some people he wanted to see and check on, make sure they were doing ok. But of course despite that this wasn't a place for a magic knight to just waltz into. Instead of wearing his traditional long green magic knight mantle, he had a black cloak to replace it. And though being of noble birth Valo never really looked the part, he always did have more of roguish look to him like most members of Green Mantis. So he wouldn't stand out much at all, unless a familiar face really got a good look at him and knew exactly who he was. He did have his weapon with him as well Hinokagutsuchi, his long silver colored staff. But it was wrapped up in a long cloth with some bands, he didn't want to get to much attention to his weapon. But hopefully he wouldn't be spending to much time here, he was almost done with his business.
"Thanks again Kashin." Valo said to his old friend from Kikka, Kashin was a bit older than Valo but they grew up together in Kikka. They used to run some old gangs together before they each went their own separate ways, but he was one of Valo's brothers in arms so they remained close. Kashin for the most part stayed out trouble so it was easy for Valo to keep him pretty close. "You were always good at setting my mind straight when I needed it. I'm glad that hasn't changed." Valo said making his way out of the door. Valo came to see his old friend to talk about what had happened in Kikka, and who might still be in there while it was trapped in darkness. "Anytime Valo you know that. Good luck, I know you'll pull through this time." Kashin responded sending him off.
Valo nodded as he opened the door and was back on the streets, he didn't look where he was going before bumping into someone he didn't know. "Tch. What the hell!?"

Xaldin walked around the Rogue's Refuge in search of a man her and the gang she was a part of were recently hired to capture. The "work" order said the man could be brought in dead or alive but Xaldin was interested in the extra money and the challenge in bringing the man in alive. As Xaldin made her way thru the streets she paid close attention to every person that she walked past, thinking that maybe her target had been wearing a disguise or something to that effect, it made sense if the man knew that he had others after him.
Walking and walking on she seemingly seen hundreds of people. After her first few hours of looking she had stopped in the middle of the street to catch her breathe and take a quick thought to herself. Little did she realize she stopped right in front of the door to some building or business, and what would happen next would be a chance encounter that could make or break her whole world as she knew it now. She stood there thinking to herself *I've been looking around this dump for hours and still havent seen any sign of this guy... I might as well head...*
Seemingly out of nowhere a man had came out of the door with Xaldin paying next to no attention, and so with the man walking out the door seemingly also paying no attention the two would collide. Xaldin being of a similar but smaller build than the man did not fall but instead she was pushed back a few feet. The man would let out a sound of annoyance or discomfort as Xaldin would snap back to reality. "What the hell?" he said. Xaldin having heard him had gotten annoyed by the man and his lack of manners and so she decided to confront him.
"What the hell? Did you seriously just say what the hell when you bumped into me jackass?" Xaldin would say as she walked up to the man stopping directly in front of his face with an angry look. She would then put her fingers to the man's head and said "You better apologize before things take a turn for the worst... Haven't you ever heard of manners buddy?"

"Don't need a reason to seek strength."
Whatever or whoever he ran into did manage to make him fall back a step, but the fire mage quickly caught himself keeping his footing. He finally got eyes on the person that bumped into him and found himself looking at a young women who was now directly in his face. This young women was pretty tall but Valo still had her beat by a few inches so he was looking down just a bit to meet her eye to eye. This girl was had her fingers against his head, demanding he apologize before things turn for the worst. Valo had to admit he was slightly amused, but for the most part unbothered by it.
She was most likely rogue, and criminals liked to talk a big game Valo knew that well cause he used to do the same thing. But the bigger point was could they back up the talk? "Manners?? Here in a town full of thieves and criminals? I'm more surprised that you have heard of manners." Valo replied to the young women looking straight in her eyes. A smirk appeared on his face, "But lets see what happens when things take a turn for the worst." Valo whispered directly to her, while she would still be holding her fingers to his head. But something caught the magic knights eye, up above on top of a building. He spotted a human figure dressed in a dark cloak that seemingly was looking in their general direction. Now it was time to get back to Magic Knight business.
"But perhaps another time, Ive got things to do." he said before quickly walking past her his eyes clearly on the hooded cloaked figure up above. If she looked up as well she would spot him if she tried just a little. Perhaps she was looking for the same person. Valo didn't take off into a full run, but simply started walking faster and went into a series of hops getting higher and higher to the top of the building. Of course the hooded figure started to take off, but left something in his place. Two more hooded figures would meet Valo on top the building, both with grimoires floating at their sides.
A annoyed Valo rolled his eyes, and let out a sigh tapping his wrapped up staff on his left shoulder. "Of course things are never just easy and simple."

The man would say a few words, seemingly very unbothered by the woman. In short he made it clear that whatever Xaldin was gonna try he would keep the energy the same. The man would then look up in the midst of the cconversation. Xaldin too would look up and see a man on the rooftops overhead. Just as Xaldin would go to put her eyes back on the man who rudely got in her way she would realize he was gone, paying no attention to the words he said as he left because she had found something she wanted too.
Xaldin followed behind the man making her way to the roof as well, however when she arrived she walked in on the man and two hood figures having a stare down of sorts. Xaldin walked up behind the man she had met on the ground and began to speak to the group as she approached. "You guys know 2 versus 1 is pretty unfair right? I mean this guy already looks like a chump no need to be bullies. However you guys can fight me im sure this will be much more entertaining... I'll even take off my jacket so you can watch my boobs bounce ha."
And just as she said she would, she did. Xaldin would take her jacket off and throw it towards the man saying "Hold that. This will be quick." She then pulled out her grimoire and threw it into the air, before it would come back down and float to her side. The magical book would then begin to glow and fire would appear around the hands of Xaldin. "Now im ready lets go!" The girl would say as she charged forward with flaming fist. She would punch the man too the left in his face immediately giving him very little time to react. The second man would begin to cast a spell as the body of his friend hit the ground. Xaldin would immediately turn and say "Lame try again!" before using her right leg to sweep the man off his feet and then punching him in the face repeatedly while he was down.
Xaldin would continue to punch the man senselessly. The only thing that could be seen thru her eyes was red... the color of hatred, rage, and blood. If she continued on the man would without doubt be dead in no time.

"Don't need a reason to seek strength."
As Valo maneuvered up the buildings to pursue the hooded figure, from the corner of his eyes he did notice the same girl he just had a run in with not too far behind him. Was she following him? Or was it something else? One could never be to sure in this region, Valo didn't really feel threatened yet but he did keep his guard up. One could never know what to expect in Rogues Refuge.
As she approached the two coming behind Valo, she wasted no time and started to speak. She spoke like a typical rogue, rough, cocky, full of herself and much to eager to jump into danger. Exactly how Valo was before becoming a knight, the little display made the fire mage smirk just a bit. She wasn't even shy to have some trash talk, instead of trying to stop her Valo would let her continue why get his hands dirty if someone was going to do it for him. He simply spun his staff and tapped in on his right shoulder a few times. She also seemed a bit more...vulgar, claiming she was going to take off her jacket so they could watch some of her assets bounce. The line almost made Valo bust out laughing but he stopped himself before anyone could see. "I'm sure the two would love to see that, if you had any." Valo said out loud just making himself laugh a little. This rogue girl was certainly interesting, he had to admit.
She tossed her jacket towards Valo, for a moment he had the idea of just letting it fall on the roof. But instead he caught it, if she really going to defeat the two of them he could hold her jacket for her for now at least. Valo watched as she activated her magic, he wondered what kind of magic this rogue used and it didn't surprise him when she used his own. Fire. Of course she used fire as an element, he just met her and could already see how hot headed she was. She also fought like him too, she ignited her fists on fire and took the fight up close landing some solid blows on both before focusing on one. It started to look a little brutal, Valo had half a mind to stop her though he didn't care if a rogue died he couldn't just stand there and let it happen. With sudden quickness almost like a blur, Valo would appear right beside Xaldin and attempt to hold her arm back from landing another hit, given his speed and strength the odds were in his favor to stop her. "Alright I think you got him now." Valo caught a good look at her eyes, and saw they were red in color. It was pretty easy to see she was easily succumb to rage, anger and hatred. Something Valo was pretty familiar with.
In the mean time though the other hooded figure she struck first found his footing again, with his grimoire floating beside him. He was activating a spell, Valo could have attacked him but he chose not to just yet. The hooded figure activated a transformation spell and a nasty looking one at that. His limbs started to grossly extend and turned black, he started to grow larger and larger standing about 9 feet tall hunched over. This wasn't an ordinary transformation spell. "Whheeeeeewwww. Look at that. You think you could take that one on as well?" Valo asked Xaldin to see if she was up to the challenge, he wanted to see just how fearless she was.

As Xaldin continued on with her deadly assualt she would be stopped by Valo. The man would swoop in grabbing her arm and stopping her from landing another blow. The two would catch a glimpse into each other's eyes and Xaldin would begin to blush ever so slightly, even in her blood lusted state. She thought to herself *Wow he is kinda cute... his eyes just now felt magical.* The girl quickly snapped out of her lusted state and began to look angry once more. "Hey why the hell did you stop me?!?" But she would stop talking once she realized the man from before had gotten to his feet.
Once the man was up and on his feet he began casting a spell, and from what the two could see going on it was a very nasty transformation spell. Valo with her arm still in his hand would ask her if she was up to fight whatever form of creature the man had became. Her eyes lit up with a passion for blood as she got up from the ground. "Yeah I'll do more than just fight him... I'LL KILL HIM!!!"
The girl would rip free from the man's grip and begin to charge the former man with fire clad fist. As she charged the creature tried to hit her with a hand as black as night. The blow would land and send the girl flying backwards a few meters. Xaldin was however able to raise her hands and block most of the brute force of impact. "Well shit he is a little tougher than I thought. I actually might need help now..."
Xaldin had then shook her head as if to snap herself out of whatever daze she was in and too also dismiss her call for help. She would then rush forward again with the same set of events trying to reoccur. However this time she would swiftly dodge the attack saying "This transformation must make you dumber than you already were. YOUR ATTACKS ARE PREDICTABLE!" And with the last word she would punch the foul creature with every bit of force she had with her right fire clad hand. The attack would send the creature falling back down to the ground were he laid as a mere man once again.
Xaldin would walk over to the man and look down on his knocked out body and shook her head in disappointment. She would then take out a small pocket knife that she used as a sort of ceremonial tool. The blade appeared to be made of bone and looked nothing like no type of ordinary weapon. She would then lower herself over his body as she would begin to say a prayer over the body "Forgive and have mercy upon him... Excuse him and pardon him... Make honorable his reception... Protect him from the punishment of the grave... And the torment of fire." she said in a soft toned voice right before she would plunge the dagger into the man's heart, and quickly doing the same to his friend.
After the ceremony was done she would look to Valo and say "Sorry you had to see that kid... But I must kill them. Its simply my mission in life."

"Don't need a reason to seek strength."
Just liked he had predicted this girl was pretty fearless in the face of danger, some rogues were and some weren't. Valo just wanted to be sure she wasn't just all talk, and they she rushed into a fight she sure didn't fear a lot. The transformation this mage took was quite gruesome, he looked like a complete monster. But it didn't seem to matter much at all she ran forward stating she would kill him. "Mmmmmm I would avoid that if I were you." he said to her as she ran off.
At first she was taken back, by this monsters new found strength. But Valo didn't budge he was still confident she could handle it. He was amused by her fighting style, it mirrored his own though a bit rough around the edges. She used fire and liked to take the fight up close, it was interesting to watch at first. But as it continued it looked like he would have to step in, despite him not wearing his mantle on the outside and being in this place.
He was a magic knight at all times, and that meant protecting people even the ones that didn't seem so good. As she pulled out her knife to perform her ceremony, Valo would swoop into action with a sigh of annoyance. "Sigh...welp it was cool while it lasted. Fureaakuseru V2." Valo activated a sell that would increase his speed drastically and allow him to move much more faster than the rogue.
In a blur of very fast movements while the rogue was chanting her words, he picked up the one knocked out mage and swung him over his shoulder. The one she was on top off he didn't bother to stop, he could have but it didn't matter. He let her finish the chant and watched as she stabbed the mage, but once the knife pierced him the body would into a puddle of black goo. "The transformation should have gave it away. He was never human to begin with. Some weird stuff yeah??" he asked Xaldin with a smirk on his face.
"And thats the reason why I'm here. To figure that out, and find the one responsible. So I can't have you killing everyone, with your weird little chant ceremonies." he said to her, dropping the unconscious body on the floor to wake him up.
"Plus how do you get information from people, if you just keep sacrificing them? That seems counterproductive." he said jokingly, but it was obvious he was throwing jabs at her now.

"Don't need a reason to seek strength."
Valo started to study this rogue girl pretty thoroughly, she was an odd one. It seemed there was a chance the two could have worked together to reach a common goal. But with the way things went it seemed it was destiny for it not to proceed that way. The body he dropped on the floor remained asleep, that was fine for the fire mage. He twirled his staff and rested it on his shoulder, looking around now deciding what was the best course of action. Then looking back at the girl.
"Hey I don't think I ever got your name but...Imma head out. This life you have chosen for yourself you don't have to live it." He said plainly, but Valo spoke from a place of familiarity. He's been in the place as her, he was performing rituals in front of people, but he could relate.
"Ive been...you. Just know you got a choice." he finished saying.
He left his spells active, just in case anything went down. His speed still drastically increased so he could move at astonishing speeds. If he moved now he could probably catch up with the other hooded figures and out an end to their plot. So that he did. He did a big flip off the building and landed on the street, still cloaked up he started to dash down the street his speed more like a flaming blur that just zoomed past everyone.
Eventually he caught sight of the hooded figures he was looking for, without wasting anytime he aimed and threw his silver bo staff directly ahead hitting one of the hooded figures in the back. Right on the mark. There was one more trying to escape, but Valo was to fast and closed the distance in a few moments. Landing a strong round house kick, but he was pretty durable he tanked the hit and looked like still wanted to go.
With a flick of his wrist, Valo controlled his silver bo staff to flew back to his hand using a new spell he developed for it. With a wide and fast strike he landed a solid blow against the skull of the last hooded figure. Valo wiped the dust off his hands, started to make his was out of town.
