Everything has been peaceful in Nairn snow has come, and everyone is enjoying their time preparing for the Yule Festivities. Though some of the kids who wander into the nearby forest have come back to town scared, and sometimes even a little bruised up. Upon inspection when some of the adults have gone to see what lies beyond they have come back injured as well. According to all accounts it appears some of the nearby deer have been mutated by large amounts of mana, and become quite aggressive. It is up to you to fend them off, and prevent the townsfolk from being harassed further.

There was a continual issue in regards to these damn deer and Yeti it would seem. The alert had been spread out in regards to their appearances again, and June was busy. He'd decided to handle it himself. The more he dealt with the less this mana zone would affect others after all. It was due to this that he found himself back within the forest surrounding Nairn once more. The massive man's hand was currently clenched around a large tree trunk while he reached out in search of the ki near him.
He felt a few. Most of the life signatures were normal, however. It was an oddity. Where were the mana beasts? He thought it was meant to be something that was currently attacking travelers. It seemed strange for them to not attack him outright as well. Tilting his head to the side, he blinked at a sensation nearby. This time he felt the energy shifting, two creatures with more potent life force attacking a third. This one was smaller, humanoid, and felt as if it was... floating? Or sitting on something in the air. That explained it.
They were attacking... her, he was fairly certain. It felt like a woman at least. Grunting he shifted his gaze to the side, where he focused. Reaching out and re-directing the flow of ki. Feeling the creatures as a low hum filled his chest, two more were approaching from the treeline toward her location. Grinding his heel into the ground, Bengal suddenly launched forward. Leaping into the nearby tree and lunging from one branch to the next.
It didn't seem as though she needed help. But he was curious who else was out hunting. It was always good to make new connections. Grinning, the White Tiger leaped from the trees suddenly. The earth shaking slightly from his weight smashing into the snow. Sending ice and white fluff scattering in all directions while the man slowly straightened, she was about a hundred meters away dealing with her own deer. Looked like she was... in a Golems hand? That was interesting.
Then a thud cracked into his chest. Bengal glanced down, arching a brow. There a massive deer the size of a moose had smashed its head full-force into the large man's chest... and snapped its antler on him, as well as damaged its own neck. The creature stumbled back, partially stunned from its own attack before Bengal's eyes narrowed. A large hand suddenly snatching out, grasping the antler it still had before yanking it forward. Smashing his own skull directly into the creature's own, the sound of a spine snapping filling the air.
The second charged at him, only to have its head grasped by the antler. Yanked clear off its feet, flipped over Bengal's shoulder, and smashed into the snow. It bayed in pain, gasping for breath and barely alive as Bengal slowly straightened. Bemused he shook his head, holding both by the antler, one with its neck snapped, the other stunned in the snow. Finally focusing on what had held his attention he re-focused on the woman before him.
Bengal was wearing his usual simple black leathers and clothing, white fur lining the jacket. The unique tattoos, long fangs, feline eyes, and a long katana that appeared to be crafted from a fused massive spinal cord worn at his hip making it clear who he was if one even paid remote attention to important individuals. His head tilted to the side as he offered her a polite--if intimidating to some--grin. "Afternoon, miss. Hope I didn't interrupt!"

[attr="class","verenaver2scroll"] Verena was en route to Aries Garse. The Yule Festival might have loomed on the horizon, but she herself had many things to plan. With everything in the Common Realm becoming so busy and hectic as people delighted in preparing for the upcoming festival, the heiress felt that she could accomplish too little. Aries Garse wasn't too far away from Nairn, so it would make an excellent substitute.[break][break]
The traveler hadn't been at it for long. Of course, she had heard the rumors of the mutated deers that were plaguing the forest, but she thought it was some sort of exaggeration. What people were describing were not the results of magic, and thus it was quite hard for the woman to wrap her head around the idea deer of all things causing the damage that she had heard of.[break][break]
Besides, if there was one thing Verena had learned since Kikka, it was that Magic Knights were simply much more suited to these sorts of things than she would like to be. If she could avoid immersing herself in a battle, then she would do so. She had little desire to seek out a fight, and would much rather just be left to her own devices.[break][break]
Still, it wasn't as if the Reinsberg didn't sympathize with these people. It was clear there was something going on, and though she wanted to help it was best she did not stick her neck out when not necessary. This was Azure Deer territory. Surely, the Magic Knights could be counted on to deal with a reindeer problem. She had that much faith in them.[break][break]
Verena was dressed for the occasion, per usual. Her thick coat was excellent for warding off the cold, and combined with the layers she wore underneath, her body was largely protected from the frigid winds. She didn't have anything to guard her face with, but she did bring earmuffs with her to at least keep her ears from getting too cold.[break][break]
Verena had left the town itself relatively late in the morning, but by mid-afternoon had found herself in the forests. Of course, she was familiar enough with the forests of Nairn, but winter did usually complicate things. When trails were all the same, it was difficult to know for certain where one was at. Thankfully, she had developed an excellent sense of direction over the course of the years and as a result, she still had a very good idea of how to get to Aries Garse.[break][break]
When she had gotten far enough out of the main part of the town, Verena opened her grimoire. "Summoner Creation Magic: Arachne's Heartache," she declared.[break][break]
From the ground, cloth wrapped around itself in a spiraling in a bizarre and mystifying way until the four-meter tall Cloth Golem appeared. Its right hand was lowered to the ground so as to allow the woman to take a seat in its palm, and its left hand was raised to shield her from the frigid winds as best as it could. Other than being bipedal and lacking a head, the golem lacked any other sort of distinguishing features... if one was capable of ignoring the left arm the size of its body.[break][break]
Of course, it didn't completely cover her; the reason for that was simple. Verena still had to be able to see. She needed food, after all, before she could really get going. The most difficult part would be trying to catch game while in this state; naturally, deer and elk were far faster than she herself was. But with a bit of help from restraining magic, as well as the golem she made not too long ago, it was a far more manageable feat.[break][break]
However, despite as manageable as it was, there was still the issue of those rumors she heard back in town. Just what were attacking the civilians?[break][break]
Suddenly, the woman heard a nasty snarl as well as an impending charge--it sounded fast. She knew she had little time to think. "Carbon Magic: Survival Instinct!" she shouted from the direction of the charge.[break][break]
A loud clanking noise could be heard, as something had made an impact with her wall, and hard. Wasting no time, Verena manipulated the two chains on it to wrap around this unknown assailant as well. Then, taking advantage of her golem's reach and the general close proximity of the wall, she was able to have the golems left hand reach around and strike whatever was trying to attack her, and hard while it was still restrained. The creature was sent back a bit, which gave the woman quite a shock--this was in fact a reindeer.[break][break]
A violent, bloodthirsty reindeer. Its fur was a mess, and it had a horrendous odor. Its mass was grossly disproportionate, and it was obvious that the creature wasn't just in a great deal of pain, but it obviously enraged for reasons that it did not even comprehend. There was only one thing to do for a creature like this. Raising the left hand of the golem, she brought it hard against the skull of the deer, effectively killing it between the clash against the wall. It was in truth just barely alive, a consequence of using a junior golem, but that would be remedied soon enough.[break][break]
Verena was made aware of a second reindeer incoming, thanks in part due to how loud it was and thus she felt the best thing she could do was to make this a quick kill. "Summoner Creation Magic: Despair Billy."[break][break]
These reindeer were driven mad, a result of some cruel madman for sure. Thus, the only cure for madness was to be destroyed by an even greater madness. Despair Billy would be able to grant them the rest, even if she didn't quite like this golem. It at least had a different type of... appeal to it than the others did.[break][break]
She might have only summoned one of this golem, but it was all she really needed to do for this last threat. It was too sad to see such gentle creatures reduced to this state. 'Billy', as it were, was ordered to simply punch the deer, and so it did--with enough force to send it flying back twenty-four meters, crashing through a few small trees in the process. Against a mage, this would have been nonlethal thanks to mana skins and the variety of other means to protect themselves.[break][break]
Against a mere animal, even if mutated? This held enough force to end it before the berserk reindeer could really fight back against the golem. She could tell at a glance that there was no way these animals wanted to live. Such docile creatures were in pain. So this was a mercy. Even as Billy finished off the first reindeer, but she didn't smile.[break][break]
Even if she planned on going hunting, this was not what she had hoped for.[break][break]
By the time Bengal arrived, Verena had ordered Billy to retrieve the other fallen animal and bring it back here. She wasn't going to just leave a kill hanging around; she had to do something with it.[break][break]
As she stared at the bodies, she heard a loud thud, and her heart raced. Verena might not have been a sensory mage, but like any and all mages, one could still pick up high levels of mana--especially if they were that close. Another enemy? If so, this one was far too strong for her to fight. [break][break]
"Afternoon, miss. Hope I didn't interrupt!"[break][break]
Verena turned around ever so slowly to see a rather frightful looking man whose tone and words were in stark contrast to the laidback greeting offered to her. Head tilted in a curious manner, there was something... familiar about this man. She hadn't ever seen him, but she knew of him. She was certain of that. Between the stranger's sheer mass and the deer attacking him but hurting itself in the process... she wasn't sure what concerned her more.[break][break]
Then, the man just abruptly brought his own head against the creatures, killing it with just brute strength alone. What on earth? Verena's eyes widened in both disbelief and even a little bit of terror until she got a better look at the man[break][break]
Black leather... white fur... A myriad of tattoos. The man dressed akin to a foreigner--and more importantly a bizarre katana crafted from what was unquestionably a spinal cord. How savage... yet the man seemed to be anything but.[break][break]
...wait.[break][break]
"...Bengal? You're... theBengal, aren't you?" she inquired. Of course, she needed no answer. She already knew. She knew of him, of course. And of the Ryuutei clan. They were technically the newest established Noble Family, in stark contrast to her own who were among the oldest. However, they had produced something of more value than her family had despite generations being poured into it.[break][break]
...It would be a lie to say she wasn't a little envious, but that misplaced feeling had no place here. "...No, I was just passing through," she said as she glanced to the deer, dismissing all of her constructs bar the one she was being carried in. "...What brings you out to Nairn? Yuletide Festivities are to be held in the royal capital, aren't they?"

Description: Arachne's Heartache takes the form of a many layered bipedal creature wrapped in various layers of cloth. Due to its nature as a Guardian Golem, it is four meters in size, with one arm large enough to carry a person in the palm of its hand--specifically, its right arm. The golem is incapable of moving faster than three meters per second when transporting a person. The fabric itself semes to be folded alongside a variety of other fabric, though the main color seems to be various shades of brown. On the left part of its chest, one red patchwork is visible in a circular shape, albeit rough. The golem lacks a clear head despite being bipedal, instead just containing arms and legs.[break][break]
The golems left hand is what it uses for attacking as well as defending due to it's massive prportion, easily being roughly the size of its body. This arm is especially bundled tightly together, and a variety of cloth has been seemingly stitched in red fabric across the golem's entire arm, giving the impression this arm was sewed on.[break][break]
This same arm serves as its primary form of attack and defense--that is to say, it shields whomever it is transporting in its right hand with its left. Due to the many layers of cloth all interwined so tightly together, it can cause blunt damage to whatever it hits with it, while also having a three meter reach. When using the arm in a sweeping like motion, it can cause knockback damage to occur, starting at 2 meters but increasing by an additional 5 meters for every 10 [POW] it has.[break][break]
The golem's lower body is designed to support the massive left arm, but as a result it has poor mobility, befitting of a Guardian golem.[break]
Juggernaut: Twice a thread, a player can cause an equally ranked offensive based spell that would normally destroy or injure their defensive spell to be completely negated.
Description: Upon usage, Verena creates a wall that is 2x2x5 (length x width x height) made of pure carbon and as such is akin to a jet black in color. The wall appears as though it's constantly moving around, and this is in part due to [Juggernaut], as it is capable of, with limited usages, of strengthening itself in what would otherwise tear right through, or damage it to render that damage obsolete.[break][break]
In addition, the wall is capable of shooting out a solid "rope" of carbon though reinforced via [Imprisonmont of a God], plus one additional chain for every 30 [CON] she has. These chains function in accordance to clashing rules, and cause strain on a person's ability to regenerate their mana, depleting it by 10 (though if their mana regenerative ability is lower, then it will reduce it by the maximum value without making it 0).[break][break]
If the chains do not manage to catch a person, they are still capable of restraining a person's grimoire via Restraining Magic, and have a 50% reduction on the casting ability of a mage. The construct can withstand up to twice its rank in damage before being completely destroyed.
This Perk allows your Golems to start with a bonus of +3 to its Durability, Power, and Sensory Stats. At Grand Rank this bonus increases to +5. If this Perk is applied to a Balanced Golem these bonuses increase to +5 and +10 instead.

Description: Visually, a disturbing golem. One that someone wouldn't have thought possible from someone like Verena. However, Kikka did have an impact on her aesthetic. To counter her own fear of the macabre, she decided that she would instead embrace it, to confront it, and ultimately tame it. And thus, Despair Billy was born. A golem manifested from her own fear.[break][break]
Despair Billy appears as a giant patchwork doll--closer in design to a voodoo doll than anything else. It's body is crafted from various types of cloth of different colors. The bulk of its body is the same color as a burlap sack, whereas its right arm is colored a sickly looking yellow. This same yellow appears on the top right of its head, whereas the left half of its head is a lifeless blue blue. It possesses no neck, and from its right shoulder to the start of its left forearm, as well as its left part of its chest and rib cage is red. A heart can be seen stitched on on the opposite side of its body, albeit crudely attached on to it. It is easily taller by a considerable degree than a human being, standing at six meters in height.[break][break]
Though the golem is capable of transporting up to two people, the speed at which it is capable of doing so is no more than [10 m/s]. "Billy" has enough power to knockback people when swinging with its arms to send them back four meters, plus an additional [5m] for every [10] in [POW] it possesses. Unlike Verena's other golems, Billy is suited primarily for attacking, though it still keeps up with Verena's primary objective of not killing, as the strikes from it are all blunt. It can cause great harm compared to her other golems, but it is still very unlikely to kill a person(s).[break]

Bengal rumbled a chuckle from his chest at the woman's words. The Bengal, huh. That was the first time he'd heard it said in such a way. He had fame, and people knew who he was, but they tended to know he wasn't the type to care for such things. Nobles saw him as a powerful piece to be used for the benefit of the country in battle. A useful weapon, if a savage. Commoners tended to see him as a bit of a symbol that anyone could obtain what they wanted with effort.
Having someone address him in such a way was odd. But, such was the way of things. Bengal's head tilted to the side as he walked forward, dragging the two deer casually through the snow. One giving a trail of blood from its snout from where his head had caved in several important internal parts of its brain. Midway through the walk, the one that was still alive began to twitch and make noises. Coming out of its stun--in time for Bengal to snap his wrist to the side, effortlessly breaking the massive creatures neck one-handed.
With them both dead he tossed the bodies to the side in a pile, lifting his hands up and clasping them. Bowing his head to the now, four, creatures. "Rest." he stated with eyes closed, before straightening. Shifting his gaze back toward Verena as she inquired about his reasons for being here. A hum filled his chest. Small, curvacious but pale and a bit frail looking. He scratched his chin a moment in thought, before focusing on the woman's eyes.
"I thought you were here for the hunt as well. There have been attacks on the local merchants and travelers." His hands clasped behind his head, fingers interweaving despite the chill. As his hands departed the thick fur, the glowing band of what appeared to be obsidian with live threads of lava spiderwebbing across the surface briefly came into view.
"There are deer, Yeti, and other shit all over the place around here. A section of the town here, Nairn is getting attacked by Yeti on occasion. The mutated deer are assaulting the travelers. Kind of a mess." He mused, glancing toward the town. "I always do job runs through the various towns. The yule shit can wait. People are dying." His words were blunt and simple before his gaze turned toward Verena, arching a brow.
He didn't recognize her, but that wasn't much of a surprise. Bengal didn't put much stock in the ideals of fame and the like. Hell he treated Ardere pretty normal until he'd gotten to know the man and earned his respect. The hands lowered from their pose behind his back.
"Are you a magic knight?" He inquired curiously, glancing at the golem. Though there were non-knights capable of such spells she had more mana, and a bit of a stronger ki then he was used to. "Plus, you've got me at a disadvantage," his lips curled back in a wide grin that was, perhaps a bit more than intended, intimidating to some. Long fangs flashing in the light. "I'm not the Bengal. I'm just Bengal. Or Satori, if you prefer." His shoulders lifted in a shrug, offering her a hand. It was unusual for anyone to prefer his proper name here, the tongue was too different from his own.
"Head of the Ryuutei Clan. Just a mercenary. A pleasure to meet you, miss...?" The Golem was tall, but with his own height and long limbs, his hand almost reached her level. A simple polite handshake in greeting.

Verena watched with slight terror, albeit one she kept hidden behind a stoic expression as the man just effortlessly snapped the neck of the last of these deer. It took her a bit of effort to fend off these deer; at least, she had to spend more mana than she probably should have if she was prepared.[break][break]
Ordinarily, that terror would have been fully expressed. Or rather, in the past it would have. Kikka helped her maintain a poker face of a sort, hiding away the feelings she knew too well. But that didn't disparage the barrage of thoughts that came with such a sight. Things like "Is he even human?" and "Who just breaks the neck of an animal like that?" were just two of many things racing through her mind at the sight, concealed from Bengal by an otherwise doll-like expression.[break][break]
Verena shook her head. "...I was going to hunt, but I doubt the meat of these deer would be any good," she said with a distraught sigh. "You may find more use for them than I could." [break][break] Verena heard the rumors; at the very least, she knew that the Ryuutei believed in using the remains of whatever they killed. She didn't want to be disrespectful by just leaving them here, but what she would have done meant Bengal wouldn't have been able to use them for something otherwise. And she doubted the meat would have been edible; if their bodies had been morphed this much, who knew what else had been changed? It wasn't worth the risk. [break][break] Verena listened with contempt as Bengal explained the situation. There was more than just deer? What were the Azure Deer up to? Kikka's reclamation effort was finished. What was left to do? This should have been a job they were taking on. This should have been resolved awhile ago. How frustrating. If that was the case... [break][break] "...I guess I'll postpone my trip to Aries Garse," she said. "If the Magic Knights aren't able to neutralize this as it was, I can at least-"[break][break]
A pause.[break][break]
"...I'm sorry. Did you say yeti?" Those were real? Impossible. It must have been a mistake. They were only spoken of in legends. But now, she was genuinely curious. If Bengal was saying there were yeti, it was hard to discredit what he was saying; he had little reason to lie, and surely he had seen many things by this point. He was a much more apt hunter than she was. [break][break] Ah... right. Introductions. Bengal inquired as to if she was a Magic Knight, but she assumed that her earlier comment about the Magic Knights would indicate otherwise. However, for the sake of formality:[break][break]
"...I am not," she admitted. "I just go by Verena." [break][break] Bengal was almost able to match where Verena was at within the palm of her golems hand, however, he was just a bit off. Verena had her golem lower its hand to make a handshake between the two a bit easier, accepting the gesture. [break][break] "My apologies. I just wasn't expecting meeting anyone out here in the forests of Nairn--no less someone of your status. It'd make it a lot easier if I had your help in getting rid of all this nonsense around here. It's frustrating that the Deer aren't acting, but I should be able to be of some use..."

Bengal hummed as he felt the ripples in her ki. Fear was a pretty normal reaction to him, honestly. He wasn't too perturbed, but he was impressed that she was able to maintain her own focus so well to now show the fear on her face. That took willpower many in this country lacked. Impressed just a bit, Bengal would accept the handshake while laughing softly at her question in regards to the Yeti.
"I guess you haven't hit many Dungeons and jobs, Verena?" He mused simply at her question, his grip on her hand was firm but not overpowering. Careful with her to not harm, but also not taking her daintily like some flower. Once his grip was released he moved toward the corpses of the large deer and began looking them over. Grunting and reaching out to a nearby tree, gripping it before snapping it at the base. The startling crack of wood filling the air before he dumped the pine on the ground.
Taking out rope from his hip and looping it once around the tree before he began to casually lift and place the bodies on it, clearly intending to use it as a makeshift sled. Not bothering to use his mana for such a task as he instead focused on her words.
"Yeti are pretty common during this time of year. Krampus forming so consistently has lended them toward escaping and altering the lands with their mana zone. Though, Krampus isn't the dungeon that formed this year." As he mused this he flipped the cord around another limb, tying the legs of the deer together and then to the tree. "Likely the Daemon's fault. They fucked with alot." Unlike some that spoke of the creatures with either bravery and ignorance, or utter fear and humility, Bengal spoke of them as one would any other warrior. Any other opponent.
Straightening he began to bind the rope into a simple handle. "They attacked last year as well from the Dungeon. This time its a bit off, they just seem to be coming from the woods. Haven't located the source just yet. Don't be too hard on the knights, they're short on members right now. It's why I'm lingering around to help try to patch the holes." He wasn't excusing the knights. But in the end his issue with this country had always been how weak the average citizen was.
Of course this would happen if you raised a weak people. Releasing a breath he looped the rope around his arm before turning and facing the brunette.
"You're welcome to come with me. I work with Golem users quite a bit. Yuurei always had me work with his." Bengal's eyes turned sad for a moment, before a huff left his lips, and he began to walk through the snow. Easily dragging the bodies behind him.
"The fact the creatures are all so similar to what was within Krampus' Cavern, but mutated, different, makes me concerned. They respond to my sword, too." Bengal's gaze slid down toward the long slightly curved rod that appeared to be a fused spinal cord of a humanoid. The bone was polished and smoothed but retained its general shape per each vertebra. The bones were notably larger than a normal human's should have been, however. Around the first thoracic vertebra, the bones separated slightly showing a single round piece of polished black steel.
The eight vertebrae above this spot being completely smoothed down and carved in their fused state. This formed into a slightly curved, ergonomic handle that Bengal's hand grasped. The click of steel being released filled the air as the large man drew the blade just a few inches out from what was now revealed to be the sheath, crafted from a creature's spine. The blade however did not appear to be steel, but something more akin to obsidian... no, coal? This was proven when a black miasma began to slowly leak from the blade and swirl around it as it attuned to Bengal's mana. The scent of coal drifting from the blade's hilt.
"Since I made it out of Krampus, them reacting to it means that they're probably used to his mana. Probably a connection there." As he mused this he continued to drag the bodies behind him, rope over his shoulder as he glanced toward Verena. "Are you a golem specialist, Verena? Or are there other forms of magic I should keep an eye out for?"

Verena might have accepted the handshake, but it was obvious that she was not used to such gestures--in fact, every fiber of her being was genuinely uncomfortable. She did not like being touched in any capacity. If Bengal could tell that she was afraid, then the sensation of pure uncomfortably--almost disgust--would have overcome him. But this disgust had nothing to do with Bengal. This was pure self-loathing.[break][break]
Of course, Verena disliked being rude, and in an attempt to appear generous--courteous, even--she decided it to be in her best interest to accept the handshake from Bengal. It was no different than if Lydia or Ardere offered her. At a certain point, one just had to get over themself. But that didn't make the feelings go away, either.[break][break]
Towards Bengal's question, the brunette shook her head. No, she had very little practical combat experience. Aside from the two dungeons she had participated in as well as Kikka, she ultimately had nothing to her name. In both instances, she was basically useless. She was at least a bit more capable in the dungeon before Kikka, but that was also because she had the practical training that lasted a month with Jorah prior. When it came down to it, she was ultimately a weak and unreliable person. Nobody knew that better than herself.[break][break]
But she sought to change that.[break][break]
Verena had heard the opposite, just creatures of legend spoken of in fairy tales. Of course, these very same books she had read from the comfort of the Noble Region. It wasn't hard to believe that their existence was just told as a tale for the sake of the story, just to scare noble children who would likely never confront these beasts for themselves. If that was the case, it certainly worked to make her afraid of going out in the forest in winter. Not to mention, she herself had yet to have an encounter with any yeti. It was hard to believe they were common.[break][break]
"...Krampus," she mused to herself. The name itself was familiar but similar to yeti, it was a name she thought of only in some sort of folklore. There was lots of talk about it some time ago, about a space in Clover that Krampus had taken for himself, but she only thought it was a rumor. There was truth to it then? If that was the case, then he must have been an incredibly powerful foe. But to make matters worse...[break][break]
"...The Daemons might have a hand in this? Sven, Ito, and Lilitu have all been defeated though. Is this some kind of aftermath of their presence?" she asked--a strange tenacity in her voice despite her frail tone and otherwise stoic demeanor. It seemed she was quite familiar with the happenings.[break][break]
Verena let out an exasperated sigh. Ito and Lilitu were... she had very conflicted feelings on those two. They were enemies, but the sole reason she was here right now was also because of them. They also had a degree of loyalty to their father, but they were also... independent. They also had a degree of... human in them. Was it arrogant to think that the traits they demonstrated were human? Probably. But for the Reinsberg, it at least made it ... easier to feel a degree of connection. There was a part of her that mourned them. There was a part of her that felt relief in their passings. Her feelings were very much mixed, and it would likely be that way till her death.[break][break]
While Verena wasn't quite sure on who Bengal was referring to specifically, she had heard that the former Silver Eagles captain and Bengal were on good terms. It stood to reason that Yuurei was the very same one he was speaking about, especially if the man was using a name. It would be silly to drop the name of some random that someone was unlikely to have known. Furthermore, Yuurei was a very uncommon name in Clover.[break][break]
"...I'd like to help. In addition to Golem Magic, I can use Restraining and Defensive Magic. As far as magic types..." Verena paused, as if thinking about how to put this. "...As far as golems go, I can currently use four different elements. But otherwise, I'm a carbon mage. Would you mind showing the way towards the yeti, as well as everything else to bring some semblance of normal back?"

Hmm. That was a nice glint in her eye. Her ki had been unstable, fearful, disgusted and withheld though none of it had been directly aimed at him. She'd seemed fragile, not just in body but in soul. However, mention of the Daemons appeared to of changed her views for a moment. His head tilted slightly to the side as he looked into the woman's eyes for a moment.
"You don't need to be afraid of me. Nor do you need to touch me if it causes you to feel such distress," he offered simply, not appearing offended in the slightest and instead tucking his hand into his pocket while they walked.
"The Daemon's had an effect on everything, Verena. Impacts cause shockwaves. Shockwaves cause ripples that wash across the entire surface. Mana is the same. There are still Daemon stragglers even, I went hunting not too long ago and killed one of the high Daemon's. The Arch's kids." His head tilted to the side idly while mana flickered around him slowly, before releasing a slow breath and straightening.
"We'll be finding residual after-effects, stragglers and tainted mana zones for years at a guess. Dunno if the Daemon are directly involved, though." It seemed important to her, so clarifying seemed like something he should do. With this he would shift his gaze forward once more.
"Hmm, a utility and defensive specialist then," Bengal nodded his head once. "My first fiance is similar. I should be able to adapt to your combat style easily enough. Though the Yeti were too weak for it to be an issue, they are fairly intelligent. Some strategy won't be amiss in their ambush style." With this Bengal would dig in his heels and smile softly, motioning for her to move in the direction he pointed first.
"At your top speed if you would," he stated simply, and once she began to go forward on whatever Golem she wished, he launched after her. No using any mana, simply matching her pace with his body while dashing alongside her despite dragging the weight he was. After a moment, pulling slightly ahead to lead the way through the snow. Heading toward town, and where he knew the Yeti's attacks had frequented of late.

Verena tilted her head curiously with a tinge of fear in her eyes as the man seemingly read her mind. For one who was always in her own head as much as she was, especially after Kikka, it was especially concerning. She didn't want a complete stranger learning about what her father did, nor did she want him to learn that she was a Reinsberg. It wasn't that she thought it would matter to him--it was that she just wanted to keep all that private. Could she even do so? ...Of course not, she was thinking about it even now. She could only hope that it wasn't true mind reading, but at this point she wouldn't be surprised.[break][break]
With a slow, albeit hesitant nod, Verena quickly removed her own hand. "...Thank you," she quietly said, letting out a relieved sigh.[break][break]
Yes, the White Tiger was every bit the opposite of Nobility that she had heard he was. It was a relief to her. He wasn't caught up in the political intrigue like others, nor was he some sort of schemer. He was just like the commoners, simply taking it one day at a time, and didn't seem to worry about the hypotheticals. It was more than what she could do right now, at least.[break][break]
Bengal mentioned the aftermath of their impact. Yes, that made sense. But it also made her a little sad. She had hoped that Kikka would be the last of it. That they were at least free from the Daemons for awhile. But deep down, she realistically knew that wasn't the case. Kikka, for starters, was surely going to feel the aftermath for a very long time. There were embers there now. Embers of distrust. Discontent. If the Kingdom at large wasn't careful, the raging fires of rebellion would surely swallow Clover.[break][break]
...At that point, many otherwise innocent people would lose their lives.[break][break]
Verena summoned a different golem--the same one that she had used to defeat the earlier reindeer and send it smashing away. Despair Billy. "Once we get to close enough, I'll dismiss it so as to avoid alerting them... but I apologize. Due to personal reasons, I am wholly unreliable without my golems, even when it comes down to mobility. "
