Verena was not in Sosshi as a result of the rumors. It wasn't that she wasn't curious, of course. But she was far more interested in the curse about the town. She had heard the rumors of the town's curse, and so she was here investigating that. Perhaps if there was any truth in it, she could learn more about her own curse in the process. The best way to heal curses, after all, was by learning more about them.[break][break]
Her family was already quite potent with curses and hexes, so she herself did have some basic knowledge on it, and if she truly wanted to, could learn the magic with ease, but no. That was... simply too dreadful. To use the very magic that had cut her own life short? She... she wasn't ready to do that. Still, could she truly lead her family if she couldn't even touch the magic that her family had any degree of skill in...?[break][break]
There was no point in overthinking it. Rather, she couldn't afford to do so. The only thing that mattered right now was finding more information about this curse, and so she was in the town, trying to find a library. She loved most of Clover, including the Forsaken Region, but she would be lying to herself and everyone if she said she didn't get frustrated at the lack of libraries built in the area. There were grimoire towers, of course, but actually dedicated libraries were another matter entirely.[break][break]
She was certain there was at least one in the town, but she was having no such luck finding it. She hadn't been in Sosshi in four years, but it was where she had met the hunter who had taught her wood magic. Before that, there was a wildman who had taught her earth magic. Next to sound, cloth was the most recent magic she had learned, and it was from an old seamstress who entrusted her magic to Verena as a parting gift.[break][break]
"Granny would probably be upset that I use her magic in such a manner..." Verena thought, suddenly stopping as she realized just what she been using for inspiration with cloth magic. Perhaps she should try to make something more... cute... in the future.[break][break]
However, strangely enough, she could hear a commotion in the distance. The woman (albeit incredibly slowly) moved through the crowd, struggling as she could make out a man yelling about something.[break][break]
Verena's hair had just recently been cut, going down to her waist but per usual she kept her twin-tail style. She was clad in her usual full white coat. However, in an attempt to mix it up today, she wore a black full-body dress underneath it. The dress reached down to her legs but was more like a skirt and black heeled boots. Given that she didn't really do a lot of moving on her own normally anyway, the issues of mobility were a non-issue. She couldn't struggle running if she couldn't run to begin with, after all!

Valo Stark
"Don't need a reason to seek strength."
Sosshi the town of curses, or a curse. Either way it didn't matter much to Valo who walked into town rather casually. He hadn't actually stopped by in the town for quite sometime. It was rather odd considering it was a neighboring town, for the Green Mantis base in Hage. This was also the home for his rival squad The Black Bulls. So far he had only met one Black Bull member so far, that being Charles the one who seemed to smart for his own good. Or at least tried to be smart. He did hear some pretty good things about the Black Bulls vice captain though, the word was that she was tough and reliant while also being smart and well experienced. Perhaps there was something to learn from her, one day.
The fire mage strolled through the town on a mission, apparently there was some strange attacks going on in the city that needed to be dealt with. The mission was very new, and he grabbed it and assigned himself to it before anyone else could. Maybe it was his ego but he saw the entire Forsaken Region as his new home to protect. So if anything happened to it's town, lands, forests anything, he wanted to know about and deal with it. He was always looking for ways to compete and win, this just added another to that list. Once in the town the fire mage didn't keep to solid ground for long, with a snap of his fingers he created a flaming bird golems called Hi no Tori. It took to the air and flew towards the roof of a nearby building with him grabbing it's leg he got an easy ride. Valo walked on the roof of the building, keeping a lookout for anything that could catch his eye.
It didn't take much investigation to find where the trouble might be, there was some commotion going on in a certain part of town. A crowd was forming rather quickly. "Did I just miss an attack?" the fire asked himself looking towards the crowd, using nothing but a mental command he hopped on top of his golem this time and flew towards the scene.
His golem bringing him close, he landed softly and carefully. "Hold, please." he said simply to his golem, holding out his silver staff Hinokagutsuchi. The bird grabbed his weapon in it's beak, and held it there as commanded. His long green cloak was enough to make some people step out of his way. His green cloak covered most of his outfit, being wrapped around him completely a large Green Mantis symbol on his back stood out letting people know exactly what squad he came from. This wasn't the standard issued mantle given by the Knights it was a custom version that Valo thought was much more cooler.
There was a man yelling out something, which at first was hard to hear with all the crowd noise. But once Valo arrived and started to walk up, the noice started to die down. This probably wasn't just because of his magic knight status, but his own reputation as well. Valo was still getting used to the idea of being sort of known, he wasn't completely famous yet. But people were starting to know of him, his title, and his standing. "Oi. That's the blue flame user from Green Mantis." he heard a whisper. "Valo I think his name is." another whisper followed. "No. No. No. It's Galo." yet another whisper, but this one slightly annoyed him.
But now was the time for business, the fire mage walked up to the man that was yelling. The man was a merchant who worked in town, who was probably doing nothing but working his usual shift. "They attacked! They attacked again! Standing bulls I tell ya! Standing bulls! That can talk! And wield weapons! They use axes! And they freaking talk!" he shouted over and over.
Valo knelt beside him looking over his injures, he wasn't hurt bad but even if he was the fire mage would be no help in that department. He had yet to firmly grasp the magics behind healing, though he tried to with many failures healing somehow always escaped him it frustrated him. "Well you don't seem badly hurt. But talking, walking bulls with axes? I don't doubt you, but are you sure?... What's your name?" Valo asked just for his own reassurance. This was a world of magic, one had to keep their mind open to stuff.
"Psh! I'll live to work again. Laric's the name! And I assure you. They walk, they talk, and they know how to swing an axe. It might be some kind of curse magic! Mana beasts sure! But talking ones, it must be a curse! They came from the exit path not to far away" Laric responded pointing in that direction.
Valo started to stand up right after patting the merchant on his shoulder. "Thanks for the info Laric. I'll take care of them."

"Fire Magic? and it's... powerful..." Verena thought to herself. She couldn't sense where it was coming from. But having completed her training with Ardere, she was more connected to that element. She could tell it was being used somewhere. Yet the general feel of it was... confident. It differed from Ardere, but it wasn't malicious. It was from above.[break][break]
While she was making her way through the crowd, she looked around, trying to get an idea of where it might have been coming from. Right before the Green Mantis landed, Verena spotted it. She was about to cry out with excitement when she saw a golem, but she saw that mantle. The woman's eyes widened with a momentary fear before she shook her head and let out a soft sigh. No. Not every Green Mantis was her father.[break][break]
She heard the whispers passing through the crowd about the man as he made his way through the crowd. The Blue Flame user? Galo? Valo? ...As in, Valo Stark? She had heard the name. His arguable biggest claim to fame was his contributions and actions in Kikka, for better or worse. ...She had heard what had happened only after the fact.[break][break]
Yes, his title befitted the man. She could tell just from a glance in his eyes. He was tenacious. Her head tilted slightly, offering the man a smile before he went to work on getting to the source of the issue.[break][break]
Verena listened as Valo went to work on getting the situation under control, impressed with his crowd control and he had quickly got to the source of the problem. Her eyes darted over to the injured merchant, examining the extent of his injuries. They looked pretty nasty, but they wouldn't be life-threatening. There was no rush to get him medical attention at least.[break][break]
The merchant who identified himself as Laric explained the situation to Valo. Standing bulls? Axes? She wasn't going to dismiss the possibility. Not with stranger things that have existed in this world. It wasn't the strangest thing she had heard of, at least.[break][break]
"Uhm... pardon me, Laric. But about how far away from here would you say it is to that exit? And what would the fastest route to it? Be as precise as possible; it's important."[break][break]
The merchant gave the brunette a confused look. "Er... well, that Magic Knight's on it, but. I'd say it's a little over 70 meters from here? Just keep going down this path, straight down, then a sharp right about 60 meters from where we're standing right now. It's the northern exit"[break][break]
Verena offered a quiet bow as a show of gratitude to the man named Laric as she followed after Valo. This wasn't her problem. This was something the Relentless Flame would be more than capable of handling alone. However, Laric said something that caught her attention. The product of curse magic? Any lead she could get was better than none. She would absolutely follow up on this as if her life depended on it.[break][break]
...Because it quite literally did.[break][break]
"Uhm... excuse me. Valo. Valo Stark, correct?" she asked once there were fewer people around. "I apologize, but I'd like to accompany you on this mission. I feel like it would be beneficial to us both."[break][break]
There wasn't any reason for Valo to believe her, however. She knew how weak she appeared, and even if he could sense, he could only sense her general mana. She hadn't done enough to really be known at large, so she didn't expect anyone to know her. Though in the past few weeks, it seems more people began to know her... what a strange and alarming feeling. One that she knew she would have to get used to.[break][break]
"Uhm... forgive me if I may be overstepping my bounds, this might give you an idea of how reliable I hope I can be to you," Verena said before her grimoire began floating, suspended in the air as the pages turned to a page. "Summoner Creation Magic: Sonia."[break][break]
A construct made up of various types of elements suddenly rose up, seemingly climbing out of the ground as if some sort of corpse though this was just the formation itself; no actual damage was being done to the ground. This amalgamation of music clambered loudly as it took the form of a skeleton of some sort. It was no taller than Verena herself was; perhaps a bit shorter.[break][break]
"Sonia, please head to the north exit You may encounter enemies; defeat them. These enemies will have the heads of axe-wielding bull-faced animals that are standing upright. Ensure that you do not harm any civilians, buildings, pets, or property as you are moving and fighting."[break][break]
The brunette looked over to Valo once it sped off. "Would you mind following after it? Just to confirm the job is finished, of course. It might be a bit difficult, but I have faith you'll be able to keep up. I'll be with you shortly."[break][break]
Meanwhile, Sonia had already sped off, zooming past as it expertly maneuvered its way around people, boxes, animals, and everything else. Its smaller frame made this more possible than it normally would. As it approached the corner, it slowed down just a bit, taking the turn so that the exit of the city was in sight and continued on its path. There were no such creatures in sight; however it suddenly sustained some degree of damage, an axe found itself striking its back.[break][break]
Immediately, Verena was made aware of this, but as she was not physically there yet, she couldn't quite change her commands. However, another creature matching the description that it had been given showed up. Sonia immediately raced into it, effortlessly putting a series of holes right the creature's torso via the sharpened claw-like fingers.[break][break]
The other minotaur tried attacking it again, but it had no luck. This time, the golem had managed to catch a glimmer of it while it was attacking the other, spinning around as it climbed up the back of the minotaur, the claws drilling into the minotaur's back as it did so before those fingers were used to pierce the creature's throat while wounding it all the while.[break][break]
In an instant, it was over. She hoped that things went well. The fact was she was just trying to show off, but really she had no idea how things went off. She was just blindly trusting her own ability and hoped that things would work out well with a straight face.[break][break]
"...I suppose I should go check on things now" Verena said quietly to herself, as she readied another spell (assuming Valo had tried keeping up with the golem).[break][break]
The fight would have taken just a few seconds, but no chance she could keep up with that type of speed.

verena blindly trusts her own strength in an attempt to flex? maybe? i may have to edit this, i wanna' get some questions answered but i just wanted to write this, too kek [break][break]
Element: Sound[break]Rank: Senior[break]Size: Up to 3m[break]Mana Cost: 30 | 15[break]Type of Golem: Scout[break]Applicable Perks: Puppet Master, Reinforced Golems, Ranged Golems[break]Description: Verena's newest sound golem is, for all intents and purposes, the culmination of what she has been trying to achieve. With excellent sensory skills that far outperform any of her current golems and their incredible speed, Sonia golems represent her first new type of golem: Scout golems.[break][break]Sonia golems take the form of a human skeleton; however there are many differences in the anatomy--rather, instead of bone, various types of metals make up its bones, but all ultimately make up a variety of instruments. The skull is covered in a hard material that offers enhanced protection, but brass encompasses most of it, and piano keys make up its teeth. Inside its mouth is a large sound amplifier that is connected to a large brass pipe that functions as a spine.[break][break]The golems 'ribs' are made up of a variety of pipes and Sonia's shoulders have cymbals protruding them ever so slightly like shoulder spaulders. The sternum looks like a series of clarinets melded together against the pipes, though the topmost pipes connect into these clarinets. Sonia's arms are made up of batons, and its hands are made up of smaller cymbals. Attached to these cymbals are instruments are known as dords.[break][break]Where a stomach would be exists a large drum protected by a series of steel pipes connected. Similar to Sonia's arms, the legs are made up musical batons, with knees that look like very small cymbals as well. Furthermore, it possesses feet that look cymbals and dord-like toes again.[break][break]These golems are incapable of being rid upon, but for every 50 [CON], Verena is capable of summoning an additional Sonia. In addition, these golems are capable of unleashing a sound wave that can reach up to [140m] from Verena's current position relative to their own. In other words, if they are [70m] from Verena, this sound wave is only capable of reaching up to seventy meters from their own position. This sound does not hurt Verena. However, anyone within [20m] will suffer [Intermediate] damage due to the area-of-effect nature of this spell, and these sounds travel at [20m/s].[break][break]Doing so grants the caster awareness of mana signatures nearby. However, this does not allow them to differentiate friend from foe. It does, however, allow them to figure out humans from animals, mana beasts, and other non-human entities (elven and dwarven characters still count as human). This 'scream' implants images in the user's head in a manner similar to echolocation, shaping outlines of the landscape and sending them back to the user. This is solely limited to entities that are not hiding their mana in some way. What the caster does with that information is entirely up to them.[break][break]Due to this ability, these golems are the ideal scouts. With superior range, sensory prowess and speed, information gathering is a breeze when it comes to dealing with her surroundings.[break]

Valo Stark
"Don't need a reason to seek strength."
"Hey let's get some healers for my friend over here." Valo said out loud. "His wounds don't seem to bad considering, but lets be safe." Valo now full standing using his mana tether he had his Hi no Tori golem come closer to him, he was about to take a nice little flight over to where the minotaurs were spotted. Considering how far it was, it shouldn't take him that long at all. The crowd around started to disperse after some of the town healers helped carry Laric to one of the nearest buildings.
But before the fire mage could take off and handle the problem someone approached him, stating his first and last name. Random strangers knowing his first and last name was something he was surely going to have to get used to. He turned around a young women with long brown hair reaching down to her waist, her hair was probably longer than Genesis to him that was quite a feat. She wore a long white coat with two gold stars over her chest connected by a ribbon. From first appearances this young women looked rather timid, but something about her seemed familiar to him. An eyebrow raised when he got a good look at her, and why she stopped him.
"No." was his immediate response to her question about her joining him on this mission. After everything that happened in Kikka, Valo was definitely not in favor of risking civilian injuries or worse casualties. It wasn't really a matter of him looking down on anyone, he just couldn't make risks like that anymore. Especially when he didn't know what she was capable of. After the horrors of Kikka he made a promise to no longer put innocent lives in danger, no more amateur mistakes. After his hard one word answer he would try to walk away, but of course this one was persistent.
She seemed polite enough to say the least, she wasn't exactly being rude about it. She wanted to show him how reliable she could be, and before he could stop her she was already using her magic. A magic that he had never seen before, she was creating something. But not like him or other golem spells he had seen before, no. Her magic was much more unique, a combination of tunes, music and other elements? Were coming together creating something from the ground, whatever was being made was not going to intimidate anyone or anything with it's size. But Valo knew better to underestimate things of even short stature.
Her creation was finished and it formed a somethin akin to a human skeleton, but instead of bones it was being made with a wild assortment of musical tools and devices. He had to admit he was quite interested and impressed, he stood looking the summon and the one that summoned it up and down. Right after though she wasted no time giving it very precise orders, with near exact directions of where to find the standing bull men with axes. "Tch. Wait." he tried to stop her, but it was to late her 'Sonia' was already running towards the scene! Using his mana tether he had his own golem toss him his silver staff and he quickly dispelled the flaming bird. "I intend to." he replied to her comment about following it. Without wasting another moment the fire mage sped off after it, using his full base speed.
Surely this summon wasn't faster than his base speed, or so he thought. Valo took pride in his speed while he was not faster than Lydia Ravencrest yet, his speed had grown considerably in a short amount of time. But with him running at his full speed with no spells her summon was outdoing him! He was able to keep up with it, but barely. It maneuvered past people, objects, pets, boxes, tables and everything else. Valo able to maneuver through the same obstacles, but he had face facts he was not going to be able to catch this summon. But instead of being jealous, Valo's interest was starting increase. Of course the competitive fire mage couldn't let himself be outdone by a summon. "Using a spell shouldn't be cheating. Flare Accel v 1." he activated one of his beginning spells that increased his speed, adding another 12 m/s. He was now able to zoom past the summon right when it made it's turn reaching the exit first. "Ha I win!" he shouted out loud, but no one would really hear him. Or see his meaningless victory. No one but the two Minotaurs.
Perhaps he was to focused on the summon, maybe he was to distracted, maybe winning meant to much to him. But somehow, someway he did not notice the hiding minotaurs. 'Sonia' was struck in the back by an axe, Valo looked a little surprised but only for a second. He had no intention of helping the summon, and from the looks of it he didn't need to. The fight was over quick the little bugger Sonia was much to quick and strong for the axe wielding beasts. Valo stood in place looking quite impressed, watching the summon finished off the last Minotaur.
When it was done he walked over to it, examining it some more. It was clear to him this was definitely not an ordinary golem spell, like his own. The fire mage admired art and creations especially ones coming from magic, so he would lying to himself if he said he wasn't interested in the young women. He started to casually poke at the summon, it's rib cage made of pipes, it's teeth made of piano keys, it's cymbal shoulder pads and lastly its arms made of batons. He truly found this creation very interesting. He backed up and looked this Sonia up and down again, before whispering to it. "Just remember I won."
Full Blitz: By taking this perk, your magic is able to push past the normal limits of your bodies speed. When using a Physical Reinforcement spell that buffs your speed, you can increase it by an additional 5 m/s. At Grand Rank you can increase said spells by 10 m/s. (Note these bonuses do not stack.)
Description: This spell allows Valo to increase his speed significantly, because of the nature being fire red embers tend to rise from his body when is use. This boost in speed allows Valo to maneuver around the battlefield at a much more rapid and swift pace.

Verena was admittedly impressed with Valo's ability to take charge. Neither she nor he possessed healing magic it seemed, and so he asked someone in the crowd to do so. That was important. She was glad that before he took off, the man had done so. But in doing so gave the woman a bit of a chance to catch up so that she could get the one-up on him, and thus allowing her to remain near him as they began to head back to their normal, everyday lives.[break][break]
She was, of course, met with an immediate no. She expected as much, of course. She appeared weak. Without a proper sensory ability, one likely wouldn't have expected much from her. Not just that, it was very likely Kikka had made him a bit more... weary about trusting civilians. She didn't want to bring it up, but... if she was to really earn his trust, then she had to bring up that place. Between this demonstration and her own experience in Kikka, that should be more than enough reason to give her at least the benefit of the doubt. That was what she hoped, at least.[break][break]
As she cast her spell, she made careful watch to see if at any point she would be stopped. If Valo insisted that she stop what she was doing, then she would. It was that simple. She absolutely was not going to try to break the law right now.[break][break]
Whatever the case was, that didn't change the fact her spell had been cast, and the order given. Valo immediately went off in pursuit of her golem before she had a chance to stop the order. She stood there for a moment, contemplating if she should stop her golem or not, and be a law-abiding citizen. That would be the best thing to do without question.[break][break]
And yet... Verena placed a finger to her chin, needing to think about it. On one hand, she could stop and simply be the law-abiding citizen she knew she was. There would be minimal issues when doing things this way. There would also be no risk of her getting in trouble, nor would there be any risk of Valo himself getting in trouble. He was a Magic Knight after all. These sorts of things were for all intents and purposes his duty.[break][break]
...On the other hand, Verena also wanted to see if she could defeat the minotaur spoken of before Galo could get there. It wasn't that she wanted to break the law. Even if things went south, she was confident that Sonia would be able to severely weaken them for Valo to finish off before they could cause harm.[break][break]
She doubted that they were incredibly strong; a simple merchant had managed to get away with non-life-threatening injuries, after all. They were at best the level of an intermediate knight, and couldn't have been too fast if an injured civilian was able to get away from them. ...It still was quite strange though that he was able to at all.[break][break]
But she wouldn't worry too much about that right now. Rather, Verena realized she couldn't. Sonia was had just taken a hit, and it was likely from the minotaur. It had made contact. But she could tell from the impact that it was too insignificant to matter.[break][break]
Valo had since disappeared from sight, doing his best to keep up. His speed was extraordinary. It felt like it could rival Satori Ryuutei or even Lydia Ravencrest. The Relentless Flame had grown much stronger in the year since Kikka. Much, much stronger. She liked to think she had, too, however. Though she could tell that he was far stronger than she herself was, frustrating as it was to admit.[break][break]
Taking a deep breath, however, Verena realized that Sonia had stopped fighting. It had only been a few seconds, but the fight was over seemingly instantly. It was time to go check her own handiwork.[break][break]
The civilians had cleared out, which was good. This would make it a lot easier for her.[break][break]
"Summoner Creation Magic. Kikka," Verena said in a hushed tone, knowing full well how taboo that name was nowadays.[break][break]
White cloth wove together as it began layering and coiling around itself as the fabric crisscrossed to give it extra layers for the protective purpose--a result of her skill with creating golems for defensive purposes. It seemed that the golem in question was taking the form of a bird. And yet... it possessed eerie elements that clearly separated it from such. It possessed no beak, nor did it even possess the face of a bird. Two giant blue eyes peered outward, yet it seemed to just be part of the fabric, as they were unmoving. Unblinking. It was just an oval, but this part of the body seemed to almost have a face sewn on, though it was very clearly still cloth. It possessed no talons but instead possessed human-like hands that were made from the same snowy-white material as the bulk of its body. Verena had deliberately made it smaller, however--enough to where she could fly on it, but not have to worry about the wingspan causing potential issues for buildings and people alike.[break][break]
The head slowly rotated one hundred and eighty degrees to face Verena as it did so, much like an owl would as it was lowered to the ground to let Verena climb on top of it. Once she had climbed up on her creations back, it beat its wings to ascend up into the sky. It wouldn't be a far walk, but for Verena, it was still a significant distance and it would take her far too long to get there comparatively.[break][break]
However, with Kikka Verena arrived at the scene not too much longer. Barely enough time for Valo to grow impatient as he seemed to make a rival out of Sonia. Her golem landed just past the town's exit point, making sure that those who would not want to see it would not see it, but she did have it follow her back into town all the same.[break][break]
"I apologize for the rashness," she said, offering a polite bow. "My name is Verena Nicole Ruhm Reinsberg. Like you, I was also part of the Kikka Reclamation Effort. ... I heard what your group endured though. I ... cannot express my condolences enough. However, I happen to be researching powerful curses and ways to undo them. And regrettably, the time I have to do so is quite limited. Any leads I can take are leads I must follow, even if they lead nowhere. I must respectfully ask you don't pry into this matter, however."[break][break]
Depending on if Valo was still living in the Noble Realm six years ago, or how much he knew of the Reinsberg family incident, there was a strong chance he already knew what Verena was talking about, even if he did not know the specifics. In any case, it was clear it was a matter Verena was not comfortable talking about, and would adamantly not do so. "...I'm not weak like I was in Kikka. I will not get in your way, nor will I act as rashly as I did just moments ago. So please, let me work with you. There's bound to be more minotaur after all."[break][break]
Her words were genuine. Even a little desperate. Valo might not have had too much experience with ki, but he could tell with his ki just how sincere she was being.

verena blindly trusts her own strength in an attempt to flex? maybe? i may have to edit this, i wanna' get some questions answered but i just wanted to write this, too kek [break][break]
Element: Cloth[break]Rank: Intermediate[break]Size: Up to 6 meters tall[break]Mana Cost: 20 | 10[break]Type of Golem: Balanced[break]Applicable Perks: Puppet Master, Reinforced Golems[break]Description: Matching the theme of Billy, Verena took inspiration from the horrors of the town right down to the name. Tired of her own inability to fly, as well as seeking the freedom that came with experiencing that sort of rush of mobility in the Dungeon with Bengal, the heiress went to work on crafting a new type of golem, unlike any other she had so far.[break][break]It possesses an impressive wingspan that's roughly equal in size to its height, and if being used for transportation, then it can carry up to two people; however, its speed is decreased to 10m/s if it is being used in such a manner. In addition, she can make additional Kikka for every 30 [CON] she has, maxing out at a total of 4 additional golems to summon.[break][break]Though she still believes the human form to be more ideal for the purpose of crafting golems, this looks like a perfectly ordinary bird made from the purest of white cloth. Just... an exceptionally large bird. Without a beak. And talons that are surprisingly ...unsharp. Instead, the feet look more like... human hands, made from the same color that matches the face in terms of the color of cloth. Also, it lacks a beak; instead, it possesses an eerily resemblance to a human face, sewed on with large blue eyes so as to stare seemingly right into a person's soul. The color of the cloth used to replicate the face is very similar to Verena's own skin color.[break][break]When used for offensive purposes, Kikka's most notable approach to dealing with things involves using its feet(?) to pick up adversaries, then toss them or drop them, depending on how heavy they are. It also possesses a nasty headbutt. Both instances deal intermediate levels of damage.

Valo Stark
"Don't need a reason to seek strength."
"I apologize for the rashness,"
Valo turned his head to look at the summoner who insisted on helping him. She was quite intriguing, her actions were based on her pure determination and interest. Based on her appearance though, Valo would assumed she was more of the quiet type. Maybe she was though? She definitely wasn't the type to take no for an answer though. Instead of being annoyed by this the fire mage was genuinely interested. His full attention turned from Sonia to Verena when she stated she as part of the Kikka reclamation effort. He started to tap his chin repeating her name in his head over and over again.
"Verena...Verena...that does sound familiar. Especially the last name Reinsberg." Valo wasn't to keen on noble families, politics, social standings honestly none of it. He grew up a commoner in the small neighborhoods of Kikka, and he spent a lot of that time getting into trouble and thrown in jail cells. Although people tried to tell him about all the noble families he never really bothered to remember them. He only knew about Ravencrests because he met Lydia in person, and she owed him another fight one day. But Reinsberg was starting to sound familiar to him, he just couldn't put his finger as to why. She stated she was researching for powerful curses and how to undo them, she was also running out of time. Valo raised an eyebrow when she said this, how much of a rush was she in exactly? And why the rush? But his questions in mind were silenced and answered she stated he should not pry on this matter.
Valo's thoughts on the whole thing were pretty equable, could the summoner join him on this Minotaur quest? "Sure why not." was his answer. Her summons alone proved that she could hold her own if things got a little aggressive, which was sure to happen. He twirled his silver staff and rested it on his upper back both arms holding it in place. "Yea you don't seem like the rash type to me. And sometimes a little rashness is a good thing." he stated. He believed it too, he grew up being the most reckless of all his little gang friends so he understood that at times you need to be a little rash to get the point across.
"You don't gotta worry about me prying into your family matters. I barely look into my own. And we got a mission to focus on, the people of Sosshi may have more answers for us when it comes to these Minotaurs and curses." He started walking back into town for more answers now that the immediate threat was down. "My name is Valo by the way. I know you said it already, but it's weird not having to introduce yourself. So we work together to figures this out, the Forsaken region is much safer and hopefully you get answers for whatever it is you are looking for. Sounds like a deal to me." He would say as he stopped to holding out an open palm, for them to shake hands. If she did he would continue walking to find the next objective.

Verena was grateful that Valo's competitive nature also allowed for him to also recognize when someone was capable of holding their own, even if it meant technically bending the law in the process. However, She hadn't technically broken any law, nor had she gone against any orders. To Verena, what she had achieved here was no different than performing a civic duty, and nothing more.[break][break]
Still, Verena had to take a deep breath when it was all said and done, and it seemed Valo didn't seem at all upset with her. It went without saying that she made herself nervous by bending laws with enough force to turn it into rubber. But, what was important were none were broken. In times of distress--such as panic as a result of an attack, civic duty was just cause to use magic that could be used for offensive purposes to quell a threat. In this case, preventing more travelers from being ambushed. And though a Magic Knight was present, there were none who could say he had told her no to using her magic.[break][break]
Valo did say that he did not want her help; so Verena took it upon herself to take care of this temporary threat herself. She did not help him. She did it herself. Thus, there was not one instance in which she had gone against Valo's command, as he never told her to not use her magic.[break][break]
"...It is one of the lesser Noble Families, so it's without much surprise that you've heard of them. But they've done little, so it's also not a surprise you can't attach anything to them beyond a name." Verena retorted dryly.[break][break]
However, given the smile on her face, it seemed she was quite pleased by Valo's permission to join her on this mission, as well as his promise of not looking into her own family matters. What was more important was the fact that he was only wanting to focus on the mission at hand. A Magic Knight with his priority at the task in front of him. He shared the sentiment that it was unlikely things were over. He wouldn't need to worry about babysitting her, and she would get to accompany him. And so:
With an outreached hand, Verena shook his hand. Valo would realize immediately just how fragile this woman was externally, but it was clear when it came to magic, she was more than capable enough to defend herself.[break][break]
