An enchanted deck of cards gone wrong in the hands of an evil-doer? Who could’ve guessed such a thing would happen? The rogue mage has obtained the power to summon armies of paper peons, knights, jacks and queens and has overtaken a small town in the Forsaken region. Dispose of him quietly and destroy the deck.

After finally returning from his personal trip, unfortunately for Charles, it also meant that it was time to return to doing his duty as a Magic Knight. As much as the silver mage wanted to take the time off to slack off as much as he could, instead he returned straight away to doing missions. He was still a Senior mage, after all, he was expected to do missions whenever they were requested as it was his duty. The only good pro of doing so was that he got additional money from completing missions. So it made doing missions a bit more worth it on his part. On the exterior it was easy to say that he had changed very little as he was still lazy to do jobs, he did them regardless, but for different reasons and it's not something he particularly loved like others. This time he took on a Senior mission, located within the Forsaken Region. It wasn't too far from where he resided so the trip was fairly short. Apparently, a deck of enchanted cards fell into the hands of a rogue mage who wanted to ruin everyone's day, this included himself because if he didn't do such a thing then maybe Charles could've been able to take the day off. He wasn't coming along either, as he was accompanied by a Magic Knight from the Crimson Lions, Hania Ravencrest. Someone who appeared to be related to the head of Ravencrest Family, Lydia Ravencrest. Although, their type relationship was unknown to him as the silver mage had never interacted with him personally. [break][break] As a professional lazy Magic Knight, Charles took the fastest transportation available to him which was in the form of using his supplementary magic to create a silver owl to fly all the way towards the small town where the rogue mage had managed to somehow take it over through his Card Magic. Of course, the silver mage landed around the outskirts of the town to avoid getting detected right away, using the trees in the surrounding area to help him hide his presence. The exact amount of enemies was unknown to him, although once he got close enough he could either use his ring or Ki to try and figure out how many they were. Considering it was a town, he would try to avoid using any spells that could potentially damage or destroy any of the buildings. If needed, but not something he would like to do is to go close and personal using his sword against the enemies. That was yet to be determined, but for now, there was no point in rushing. Instead, he decided to wait for his partner from the Crimson Lions to arrive first before he decided to move in. Remaining in the outskirts and taking a look at the place, while unexpected from a Black Bull, unlike the rest, he wasn't the one to charge in mindlessly like an idiot. Through both his personality and personal experience, he decided to take on a more tactical approach. [break]

[attr="class","haniaimage"]❝I hear a song of woe shadowing our past in sorrow.❞
[attr="class","haniascroll"]It had been quiet of late, of course, could have been due to the fact that he had been given yet another lecture and all but been bound to his bedroom since he returned from the royal knight exams by his nanny Winter. She was far from happy that he had gone, she understood why he felt that he had to but in her mind, it wasn't worth his health. He was pushing himself far beyond his limits and it was going to end up killing him. She had contemplated speaking to him about resigning from the magic knights but she knew his families mentality, where she hadn't been the nanny to Lydia she had been to her now girlfriend Alyssa Lilygate who's family had quite a similar mentality. The two families could honestly be seen as the sword and shield of the kingdom as they would sacrifice everything for it.
She had been Hania's nanny since he was a little over six years old, she didn't know the inner working of the young heir as she had seen some odd behaviours but she was notified of his adoption and unique requirements very quickly. She didn't honestly know how the young ice mage would take her suggestion to leave his oath behind, due to this all she could do was continue watching until she knew it would likely be a life or death situation to continue. Hania was ever devoted to the kingdom and though still recovering when he was given a letter he opened it and quirked an eyebrow "Why can't I go a week without something odd being sent my way." he commented as he read about a set of enchanted playing cards being in the hands of a rogue who was causing chaos in the forsaken region.
Getting ready he placed his mantle around his shoulders and headed out the door without so much as a word to anyone, he knew he was going to get another lecture but he would deal with that when he got back. He was refusing to do spirit diving again unless he really needed to, his body needed time to recover from the first time he had done it. It had been weeks between the training and the exams but he still hadn't recovered all that much, he still pushed his body to do spirit dive yet again and it had set his recovery back further. He could feel Amostia was less than happy that he was out of bed and heading towards the forsaken region especially on foot. He didn't want to keep relying on carriages to get from A to B, besides he had been locked in his room for a while, he could do with the walk.
He walked down the path, he realized that he was working with yet another Black Bull, it seemed quite the trend of late for the ice mage. On the whole, he still believed them to be a mixed bag of chaos but the ones he had personally dealt with at least seemed to know not to blow up things around him. He hated people being so very chaotic, he liked order in his life but realized it wouldn't always be that way. He knew very little about the one he was about to be working with, he knew he used silver magic and that he had been within Kikka when it first fell to the darkness that had enveloped it all that time ago. He personally avoided Kikka like a plague which was strange as he personally had never stepped foot in the town in his life.
After a few hours of walking, he met the black-haired male on the outskirts of the town where the cretin of a rogue was. "Charles Constantine if I am not mistaken." he said politely. His left hand going to his chest as his right hand was slightly away from his body, his hand turned with the flat of his palm turned towards him as he bowed slightly. "I am Hania." he said calmly before standing straight. The ice mage was wearing his normal flowing white silk with ice blue and silver hem hanfu and matching hanfu bow boots. "It is a pleasure to meet your acquaintance, have you seen anything odd since you've been here?" he would enquire wanting to get up to speed as quickly as possible so they could do the job as efficiently as possible.

Rank & Element: Junior ¦ Light Class & Type: Relic ¦ Accessory (bracelet) Magic Specializations: Physical Reinforcement ¦ Healing Appearance & Lore: A simple bracelet made out of reinforced glass with an opalite charm dangling from it almost like a pendulum, that gives off a dull light during the day and a bright light during the night preventing any natural shadow from forming.
There is nothing of major historical importance or deep story into where this item came from. The white-haired heir of the Ravencrest family has suffered from terrible day and night terrors since he was young and still does to this day. When asked what is wrong he brushes it off telling people not to worry it was a condition he had. He will never go into the terrible things he sees, in fact, he personally wishes he could forget he quickly realized that his perfect memory was a double edge sword and at times he truly wished he didn't have it.
His elder sister Lydia was the first to realize that it happened more when he was in an emotional state or surrounded by darkness. She also realized that he refused to sleep unless every light source he could find was active or he would sleep outside under the sun during the day, this wasn't optimal as he was to be trained to take over the family if anything were to happen to Lydia. Still, there wasn't much anyone could think to do to help him as he refused to open up but even if they could that came with a different set of hurdles they had to get over. Hania earlier in his life wouldn't take things from people due to his treatment before being adopted.
It took a while but Lydia finally found a way to help her younger brother, she had a crystal made with light inside and told him to use it when he sleeps. She said it was hers and she just wanted to see if it would help. He was reluctant but she said it only had to be a few days so he accepted. Throughout those few days, he slept somewhat peacefully so it was clear that it helped but not enough, she could only guess that the light wasn't strong enough. She realized this would be fine for a normal child afraid of the dark but it was clear to the pink-haired woman that this wasn't a normal situation.
She personally designed what she believed would help him the most, she chose the materials, their appearance even the opalite that dangles from it. As the bracelet was being made she slowly started to imbue her own element into the glass beads and the opalite as the former was created and the latter was shaped. It took close to a year to complete but Lydia seen it as something that should be done slow and steady, this was to make sure that it was done right the first time and that no matter what it would be near indestructible for whatever he may face in life.
On what is now classed as Hania's eighth birthday after a certain incident happened, she gave him a box, within it laid the bracelet. He was told to keep it with him always as she would be there to keep the darkness at bay and watching over him so he could be at peace while he rested. From that moment he has always kept it with him even if he hasn't always worn it.
Type & Uses: Trigger ¦ 4 Uses Rank & Specialization: Junior ¦ Healing Mana Cost: 8 mana per trigger ¦ 15 recharge Range & Speed: 25m ¦ 10 m/s Stats Affected: +4 Control Description: The pendant starts to pulsate and hovers into his hand, holding almost as if it was a pen or calligraphy brush he writes the name of the person he wants to heal in the air as if he was writing on paper. It seems to stay for a few seconds before disappearing, the moment it does a gentle and warm light forms around the person in question healing them for junior rank damage. With the use of ammo rules, additional peoples names can be written per trigger. While under the ability of this spell it will actively attempt to cleanse any curses, debuffs, hexes, venoms, toxins or poisons that may afflict the uses as per the clashing rules. As this is only a junior rank spell it can do nothing but close minor wounds
Type & Uses: Flow ¦ 3 uses ¦ 2 cooldown Rank & Specialization: Junior ¦ Physical Reinforcement ¦ Healing Mana Cost: 8 ¦ 4 Range & Speed: 25m ¦ 10m/s Stats Affected: +2 Speed (wielder only) Description: Runes of light appear up the outside of the user's legs and arms this allowing them to move 2 m/s faster than they could naturally. The runes give off a warmth that is able to heal for junior rank damage, with the use of ammo rules, the wielder need only hold the pendant and speak a person's name to have it be able to heal them. While under the ability of this spell it will actively attempt to cleanse any curses, debuffs, hexes, venoms, toxins or poisons that may afflict the uses as per the clashing rules. As this is only a junior rank spell it can do nothing but close minor wounds.
Type & Uses: NA Rank & Specialization: Junior ¦ Physical Reinforcement Mana Cost: NA Range & Speed: NA ¦ NA Stats Affected: -- Description: In the beginning, this ability is inactive, it is only with the use and bonding of the item itself a deeper understanding allows the hidden secret left by a sister wanting to protect the younger brother they've treasured for close to thirteen years. This ability will become an imbued speed buff when it ranks to intermediate.
Hania has been taught how to wield may weapons since he was six years old, however, he has always prefered wielding weaponry that has tied into his true heritage. The fact he clings to a family heritage that seems to have abandoned him bothers his nanny Winter, as much as she and others have tried to knock some sense to him he keeps telling them it is still part of who he is. That he won't abandon part of himself just because his family didn't care for him.
The weapon was a gift from Alyssa Lilygate on the day he received his grimoire. She told him he had now become a man in his own right and it came with the responsibility of protecting things he held dear. He took the words to heart, treasuring the jian that was given to him.
The jian itself almost seems to hold a faint icy white glow when held by Hania as if it resonating with his element. The weapon itself is 28 inches long weighing 1.7 pounds. The sheath and hilt have a black and white design to it, while having ice blue crystals on the bottom of the sheathe, and two at the top.
The top of the sheathe and the hilt have a navy blue silk cord on them. The cord on the sheathe is tied and looped before having two dangling tassels with the same ice blue crystals on them. The top of the hilt on the other hand seems to have had the cord tied and a charm attached. A small lantern with the same ice blue crystals at the top and bottom of it.
Type & Uses: Trigger ¦ 6 uses Rank & Specialization: Senior ¦ Attack Creation Mana Cost: 24 per trigger ¦ 45 Recharge Range & Speed: 80m ¦ 40 m/s Stats Affected: +12 control (self) Description: Swinging the blade releases a flurry of what appears to be ice blue feathers, within a two-meter wide arc and a one point twenty-seven centimetres tall. These feathers edges are razor sharp and will cut through fabric and into the skin as if they are paper dealing senior damage. A direct hit will induce symptoms of frostbite and minor hypothermia.

After a few minutes of waiting for the arrival of Hania Ravencrest. Charles turned to look towards the direction he sensed a Ki come from. As he had initially expected, it was the Crimson Lion, Hania. "Mhm..." The silver mage nodded in acknowledgement as he looked at the person he was going to work with. At first, he felt a familiar feeling, as if he had met him before, but if his memory served him accordingly this was their first time meeting in person. "Hania, huh... First time I work with a Crimson Lion on a mission." This was his first time ever working with a Magic Knight from the Crimson Lions, while he was acquainted with their Captain, Ardere Kasai, but the Black Bull had never gone on a mission alongside the members of the squad Ardere lead. This was his first time doing a mission after a while, a perfect opportunity to put his abilities to the test. "I haven't sensed any movement from nearby the village, at least from the distance that I'm able to." Unfortunately, his sensory abilities were poor and his Ki had a distance, if he wanted to sense them he would have to get much closer to the village, but that also meant there was a high chance of getting spotted. It was a risk he wasn't willing to take, especially when considered he was alone just not too long ago. [break][break] The silver mage covered his mouth letting out a yawn, if possible, he would like to get this mission done as soon as possible. He knew very little about Hania's abilities, so his capabilities were a complete mystery for him. Despite all of that, he felt something familiar about him, as if they had met before, his presence felt familiar, yet different at the same time. "Hm... I can render myself completely invisible for a temporary amount of time. Infiltrating wouldn't be an issue, but I'll rather not underestimate the enemy's sensory abilities... Ugh, what a pain in the ass. Do you happen to sensory or illusion spells? If so... If you use it on any of our enemies. I believe it would allow me to get inside without getting detected..." Charles wasn't sure whether the Crimson Lion had illusion spells, but it was worth asking anyway. If possible, he would prefer to avoid any sort of direct confrontation as it would only be a pain in the ass in the eyes of the silver mage. If he counted with illusion spells then the enemies would be too distracted by the illusion to the point that it would allow him to get inside without getting detected. This would allow him to properly set up an ambush and take out as many enemies as possible. While he was unsure about the exact count, he expected at least a fair amount of enemies. After all, the rogue mage managed to somehow take control of an entire town. A feat that would be hard to accomplish alone. "That should buy enough time to set up an ambush..." If he could take out a good portion of the enemies without them being able to fight back meant that they were left off as easy targets to pick off. Truly, the laziest yet most effective way to take them out. Now, Charles awaited a response of Hania and if he agreed with the idea of his. Given the current circumstances, it was probably not a bad idea. Perhaps changing the expectations as one would think of a Black Bull. Unlike the rest, his quirk was to be lazy which meant finding one of the easiest ways to complete his mission. There was no room to waste time for two important reasons. First, because he didn't want to spend too much time on a mission if he was well aware they were methods to get it done as soon as possible. Second, the lives of civilians were in danger and they could take out the enemies without risking the involvement of collateral damage from the enemy attempting to fight them, the better. [break]

[attr="class","haniaimage"]❝I hear a song of woe shadowing our past in sorrow.❞
[attr="class","haniascroll"]Hania looked at the other as he was informed it was the first time that the other had ever worked with a Crimson Lion squad member "I seem to be getting paired with more and more of the Black Bulls of late, you are the third in a short span." he said almost thoughtfully, Chisana and Kusa had been pleasant to work with he had to admit but he was still wary of the squad overall due to their reputation for destruction. Perhaps the others the two that he had worked with before but there was quite a stigma with the squad. He had seen some of their handy work so was surprised that so far he had no bad experiences with them, but, of course, this could change at the drop of a hat. They were about a stable as his own family on who you worked with.
It would seem as if his next question was answered but then they were quite a bit away and it seemed as if the other was using ki, which was far more limiting than sensory in some ways but better in others. "I see." he said simply thinking about what to do next. Hania's left hand out while his right went to his chest, hovering above his left hand was a snowflake of ice, from it a heavy ice-like mist was falling and crept out. When it reached the maximum range his sensory would allow, it was able to make the ice shaped like a snowflake moves to be flat. From that, a highly detailed three dimensional model of the area made of ice seems to form from the ice flake. Effigy of those in the area were shown within the map with enemies being made of black ice, allies of frosted ice and neutral parties of clear ice.
The map covered a big enough area that it showed the entirety of the town. "Well one problem less." he said looking over the map and quickly counting the black effigy in his head "Nineteen enemies he then looked at the snowflakes above. Sixteen of intermediate strength and three of senior strength." he said pointing at the snowflakes showing that's how he knew of the strength of the enemies. The effigy were also detailed so they'd know what kind of enemy was where but that's all the information he could give. "I can not give further details on elements or specialities if they hold any. I would also love to say if we too out them." he pointed to the rogue "Then the cards would just disenchant, I don't think we'd get so lucky in all honesty so we'll need to take everything out."
It was too messy for his liking but it wasn't like they had any other options, they needed to deal with what was a small assault squad without doing any real damage to the surrounding area. He knew he himself was more a single and multi-target mage not really liking to use area of effect spells. They were sloppy, dangerous and there should only be used in certain circumstances. "Well, any suggestions on how she should proceed?" he asked the other continuing to look at his map watching how they moved around in the hopes they'd find a weakness. He couldn't help but think that the Coral Peacocks somehow had a hand in making this deck, they seem to have a hand in making everything else that shouldn't be made in Clover. Like the sentient hat hell-bent on world domination, he really never thought he'd ever have to read that sentence in his life but he had and was still trying to figure out the thought process behind it.

Unlike Charles, Hania apparently already had his own fair share of experiences with other members of the Black Bulls. That meant that the Crimson Lion already had a brief idea of what to expect from the Black Bulls. "Sounds like the rest have been busy doing missions too..." By the looks of it the rest of the squad members were busy doing missions as well, good for them. While the squad itself had a terrible reputation, they were actually quite different from what people would expect. Sure, they had their own flaws and quirk like anyone else, but they were quite pleasant once one got to know them well. This was the case of Captain Malcolm and his former Vice-Captain Rosalia. The silver mage witnessed Hania hover his left hand that had a snowflake of ice. He noticed that it was a sensory spell that acted as a radar, creating a three-dimensional map of the area that located both hostiles, friendlies, and neutral parties. It was quite impressive, given the fact that he didn't count with spells like that and had to rely on Ki which had a limited range. A reminder for him that he had to dedicate more time to properly training it. [break][break] "Nineteen enemies, huh? That's a bit more than I initially expected..." He sighed, believing it would've been better if they were fewer enemies. It could've made their mission much easier, but at least they knew exactly how many enemies they were up against and how strong they were. "Mm... I don't think the mage would expose himself to us, and if he was exposed, he'll like to have some of his friends with him." Even if they were to attack the rogue mage, it was possible he would try to run away. After all, if he went down then the rest of the soldiers would follow. The rogue mage could also just call his buddies to protect him and make their mission even more difficult, not only would they have to fight a mage they didn't know how powerful it was, but also their enemies. Hania's idea was quick and effective, something Charles would definitely go for, but it was also a lot riskier. "I can turn myself invisible for a few moments, the only way I would be detected is with someone with good sensory abilities. I could try and get in while I'm invisible and ambush the weaker troops to get rid of them first." Charles suggested, make the defeat of the weaker troops a priority before they became a problem. The majority of had intermediate health, which meant they could easily be wiped out. If given the opportunity the silver mage gets them to follow him outside the town and use one of an area of effect spell to wipe all of them at once. "I could also try to get them towards the outside of the town and use an area of effect spell to wipe them all out in one go while you handle the other ones. After I'm done I can join up and give you a hand, just an idea." He knew for a fact that he wasn't going to unleash such a spell inside the town, but outside the town, he was free to unleash it as it wouldn't reach any of the civilians or buildings. The spell itself wasn't that strong either, but strong enough to get rid of those intermediate health enemies. [break][break] The silver mage looked back at Hania after making his suggestions and wondered if he had anything better to offer. Personally, he would rather get rid of all of them in one go rather than fighting all of them at the same time. It would make things a lot complicated, despite not being that strong, they made up the majority of enemies stationed in the town so they could be problematic in such high numbers. [break]

[attr="class","haniaimage"]❝I hear a song of woe shadowing our past in sorrow.❞
[attr="class","haniascroll"]Hania looked to the silver mage for a moment as he spoke about the other doing a lot of missions. In honesty he had not, he had done a few jobs as a magic knight but most of what he had done was modelling. He, of course, had done a few dungeons and had been doing quite a bit of training, but other than that it had been mostly socializing as was required by someone of his status. That part frustrated him as he wasn't exactly the willing social butterfly that many of his family were. He preferred his own company within his library away from people. He wasn't exactly the warmest even to the people that he was close to, but, they knew what to look for in his undertones. He had no idea why he was like this, perhaps he believed it was because the world was messy and wanted nothing to do with it.
When the other parroted the number he gave he nodded and pointed towards the map again. "Indeed. I have to admit I'm not completely surprised as they look like enchanted cards and we are dealing with a rogue who is likely an idiot." he said with a calm tone. He wanted to know what kind of moron decides to you a magic item without knowing what they are dealing with, it just opened a can of worms that others had to come and sort out. Hania listened to what the silver mage said and pointed to the black effigy made of ice "That is the mage and he has the two queen cards with him." he said noting the markings on the card effigy. He then looked at the snowflakes above them compared to the two frosted ice effigy that looked like them.
"Seems like those three are the same strength as you." he said finally, pointing to the snowflakes "The snowflakes above the effigy define strength, stronger you are the more snowflakes appear above." he clarified so the other would understand those were the three strongest. He didn't believe that Charles was completely ignorant of how this spell worked, however, it cleared up any confusion there might have been. "Those clear effigy there are civilians or neutral parties to us so we need to make sure they do not get harmed. This is a lot trickier than I would like, I have to admit." he said with a silent sigh not really wanting to be dealing with all these unneeded complications in his current condition, it really couldn't be helped he guessed, however. His ice-blue eyes went to the silver mage as he spoke of permeation and shook his head.
"That would do no good. We don't know how sensitive their sensory is, to begin with, and even if they aren't that good at it, after the initial attack we'd lose the element of surprise." he explained to the other hoping he would understand why he was so hesitant to do such a thing. Even the silver mage had said a person with good sensory could see through him, it was the same with illusions after all so it was very much a gamble and one he personally wasn't willing to take. Not with so many civilians around. "Also, would you really be able to take out sixteen enemies that are straddled around without a map to know how they are moving around?" he asked gauging what the other believed he could do on his own, he wasn't trying to put a dampener on the other but this was very murky waters so to speak.
"That's all saying they're idiotic enough to follow you, also they will need to stay within range of the deck or they will just cease to exist. The issue is they're most likely golems and follow the mages commands, it is unlikely they will allow them to wander too far." he said thoughtfully, he wasn't a mage user but he had met quite a few and he believed this was the truth of the matter by what he had seen in the past. "I do agree with you that a pincer attack might work better in this situation however." he said as he held out the map spell "My sensory is likely better than your own so you best take this so you can track them down more efficiently. I will go after the strongest three first and will make my way forward towards you afterwards. Besides, take out the master and the puppets cease to exist." it was as simple as that to him.
It of course was his suggestion and would allow the other to decide if this was the course of action they should go with, either way, they would need to get going and soon. They had no idea what the rogue had planned going forward. "Or you could go after the three higher ones and I can take out the smaller ones, a lot of my spells specialize in single target and multiple targets." he said, now he thought about it, he only had two offensive spells that affected areas and he disliked using them if it could be helped. At least now the silver mage knew a little more about the ice mages magic in that regard.

Charles nodded, looking at the map, it made it seem like a game of chess. Queens, Bishops, Knights, and Pawns... It was a good way to put it. This is the result of what happens when something powerful falls into the hands of the wrong people. That had many meanings, but he didn't have the time to think about all of them. Anyway, it was no surprise that the rogue mage had the Queens next to him. They were the strongest pieces, so it's clear that he made sure to keep himself well guarded. It was almost as if he was expecting the Magic Knights to come to the town to get rid of him. "I have to agree with you. He's an idiot... Just look at it, he has two of his Queens next to him, he did that knowing that it was only a matter of time before the Magic Knights came to get him." The proof was right there, even if he knew the Magic Knights were going to get him. He still did something stupid as taking over an entire town. The rogue mage either had a lot of confidence in his abilities, or he was just a big idiot, maybe both. The silver mage was quick to understand the explanation from Hania, even though he already had a brief understanding of how the sensory spell worked, it helped out any doubts from the meanings of each symbol. After all, it worked slightly different from the sensory spell he kept on his ring. "Maybe the rogue mage isn't that dumb, after all. He probably knows that we would have a harder time in a town filled with civilians..." With civilians and other neutral parties involved it made the situation for the two Magic Knights more complicated than it had to be. Not only were they dealing with multiple enemies, but they also had to be careful to not hit any civilians or one of the town's buildings. [break][break] He was well aware of the risk such move involved, but he understood why Hania was hesitant on doing something like that in the first place. They were other options available that were far more effective and less risky. "If I'm within their range I can detect them with my Ki." He said, while his sensory ability was terrible. Charles counted with Ki to allow him to detect the enemies once he was close enough to them, so he wasn't completely hopeless. "Alright then, this should make things much easier." He said, taking Hania's map. The map would make it easier for him to track down the enemies inside the town. For the most part, the best option was for the ice mage to take on the stronger enemies. Charles could feel that the Crimson Lion was superior to him in terms of magical ability. "Once he spots you, he'll probably try to call all of his soldiers to protect him. I'll make sure his friends do not make things more complicated to you." He agreed with Hania's suggestion for him to handle the stronger enemies while the silver mage dealt with the rest. Charles was going to make sure they didn't cause any problems to the ice mage. "I think this sorts things out. I'll track down the weaker enemies and take them out, it shouldn't be an issue to do. I'll leave the rest to you, if I can get off them quickly I'll catch up to you." Now that the general plan was labeled out it was now the time for them to move out. They didn't have all day and in all honesty, he didn't want to spend all doing a mission either. Charles waited for a moment to see if Hania had to say anything, once he was done he began to made his way towards the town, mobilizing himself throughout the outskirts to avoid detection. This is so he could directly track down the weaker enemies. If necessary he could coordinate himself with the Crimson Lion through the use of the communication spell he had on his ring. [break]

[attr="class","haniascroll"]The ice mage didn't know that the silver mage had misunderstood what he was meaning by queens or perhaps he mistook the cards as chess pieces, but at least the silver mage understood how the spell worked well enough regardless. He turned his attention towards the silver mage from the map "At least it isn't four kings, that might give me a headache." he said knowing the next step up would be cards of his own rank most likely, where he could take them out it would just waste a lot of mana he would rather not use if he could help it given his current health. "I would agree with your assessment, rogues know eventually know they will draw the attention of magic knights especially if they want to take over a village." he said calmly, he had to wonder what the hell went through people's heads at the best of time but he also felt if he even attempted going down that rabbit hole he would lose his own intelligence.
"That's the issue with idiots, they're often the smartest just in the wrong way." he said but nodded knowing that he indeed most likely knew what he was doing and was using the village as a shield, problem was there were magic knights that specialized in single target combat and spells. Hania only had two damage dealing area of effect spells and he tried to avoid using them as much as possible. He wasn't a sledgehammer and wasn't going to pretend that he was, he preferred the finesse of a rapier or scalpel It was more precise, it allowed him to do all the damage he wanted without causing any collateral damage to the world around him. It is what he preferred and would only use the spells that were sledgehammers if he had no other option.
"It is also possible he lost control of the cards." he said thoughtfully with a shrug, it didn't matter at the end of the day the threat had to be dealt with. "I know you've likely been honing your skills but this being as tricky as it is we don't want to risk any wild cards and want to keep the chance of risk to a bare minimum." he said honestly, he knew the other wanted to get this sorted as soon as possible and to prove himself but there was a time and place and where this may be the place to the ice mage it wasn't the time. There were just too many unknown factors and he didn't like it. "This will also allow you to keep a track of me and..." he touched his fingers to the back of Charles left hand only to leave a dull clear ice blue marking on it in the shape of a curled phoenix.
"This will allow me to track you." he said calmly nodding to him "He will but I have enough within my arsenal to take out the enemies any that may come my way, I know I don't have to say this but keep collateral damage to the bare minimum." he said, the other seemed smart enough but there was still the stigma that the bulls had and would rather make his requests crystal clear in case something went wrong. "Let's get this sorted and quickly shall we." he said moving away towards the area that he saw the two queen cards and the rogue on the map he had created. Luckily, he wouldn't be outside the range of the map or mark radius so the pair could keep check on the movements of the other regardless of where they were.
He would have played himself off as a villager but he was too finely dressed and at this point, he had been on several fashion magazine front covers, anyone with a set of eyes would know who he was. Walking into the village he didn't even try to conceal his presence, there was no need to as they were all going to get destroyed anyway and quickly, he happened to come across two jacks and two knights "Two pair. This was quite the pathetic hand I got." he said more to himself almost upset that he was dealing with sub-par enemies. It was what it was and so would have to deal with it. Raising his right hand a semi-transparent ice blue seal appears above the area but it is a lot smaller than his Winters Cold spell, from the seal appears four ice shards that begin to move forward slowly at first.
These ice shards look clear but almost seem to give off a black frost from their surfaces. Pushing his hands forwards the shards went rushing towards the perceived targets striking each of them centre mass knowing that four enemies would fade from the map Charles was carrying with him. "Pathetic." he said as he moved away walking over the paper enemies as he went towards his intended targets.

The top of the sheathe and the hilt have a navy blue silk cord on them. The cord on the sheathe is tied and looped before having two dangling tassels with the same ice blue crystals on them. It was a good thing that the rogue mage didn't have any more powerful cards. Just like Hania had said, dealing with any more enemies, much less strong ones such as a King. Charles already found the mission on its own pain in the ass. If only that rogue mage was smart enough to not do something as taking over an entire town he would happily be enjoying sleeping somewhere else. "The mission is already as annoying as it is. The last thing we need is more enemies to fight." There was no possible way for him to figure out the psychology behind people doing such actions. The most probable reason was the desperation and the current events that had been taking place in the Clover Kingdom. The attack of the daemons to three major towns in the Kingdom certainly twisted the people's minds. Some people live under fear and lose all sense of reason. Resulting in them going insane and committing atrocities they would normally not do. Maybe it had to do with the fact that in their mind they had nothing to lose and they would die at the hands of the daemons. It was sad, little did those people knew that they played right into the hands of the enemy by taking such actions. "Your description about them sounds accurate." He nodded, agreeing with the ice mage's comment. It was true, a lot of these criminals were skilled and smart in their own way, but unfortunately, such capabilities were wasted as they were eventually defeated by the Magic Knights. At the end of the day, it was something out of his control, so he wouldn't lose any sleep over it. [break][break] "Possible, but I doubt it. I wouldn't be surprised if the deck resulted to be too powerful for him to handle, though." If he somehow lost control of the cards then chaos would likely be occurring to the point the two would probably notice. Although, it wouldn't be surprising either if the rogue mage somehow managed to lose control because the deck was too powerful for him to handle. This is why you don't handle items that are beyond your magical capabilities. "Yeah, yeah... I know, this mission has too many unknown factors into it which increases the risk of something going wrong." Charles was fully aware of the risks the mission had, despite how much he wanted to finish it as soon as possible. Personally, if he could gain much more information it would've been better, but right now they didn't count on such luxury. "Alright, good to know." The silver mage nodded in response to Hania. They had no time to lose so it was best for the two to mobilize. It was nice to know that he could keep track of the ice mage's location and vice-versa, the Crimson Lion could keep track of his location. It should make things easier in case they had to regroup or meet up again. [break][break] Thanks to Hania's map, Charles was able to get to the place of the town where the weakest part of the army was, in this case, the pawns. They were the weakest card in the deck, but they also had the highest numbers. As he approached them, the paper pawns took notice of his presence. They began to mindless charge towards him, although he had expected them to a bit smarter. They were pawns, so perhaps his standards were too high. The silver mage unsheathed his sword as one of the pawns began to rush towards his location. The blade of his sword began to emit blue energy from it, Charles slashed his sword towards the paper pawn, releasing a blue arc of energy towards the enemy. The pawn was cut in his half without any problems. Another pawn began to rush him, it was meant with the same reaction as the previous one. His sword released magical energy from its blade and cut the other pawn in half. None of them didn't seem to learn anything from the first pawn that was defeated. Still several of them still remained. Two more pawns rushed towards him as if to use to the advantage that he was busy getting rid of the two first pawns to attack him. "Silver Shards." A spark of electricity came out from his hand, before releasing several small shards made out of silver towards the location of the two pawns that were rushing towards him. The shards defeated the two pawns that had attacked him, burning their inside due to the lightning effect from the silver shards which ultimately defeated them. "Four more pawns left..." [break]

[attr="class","haniaimage"]❝I hear a song of woe shadowing our past in sorrow.❞
[attr="class","haniascroll"]The ice mage had no idea what the silver mage had done, he wasn't in possession of the map nor did he possess Ki but his sensory was strong enough to know that some mana had been knocked out of the area. He couldn't tell how many exactly had been taken out but even if they chipped away they'd all eventually fall to the pair, the quicker they could do it the better but they needed to be smart about it. He was glad that they could keep an eye on each others location it made things so much easier to work separate from each other without worry. So far the Black Bulls he had worked with seemed to have shown to be smarter than most of the crimson lions that he had worked of recently, he was starting to wonder if he was trapped in an alternative universe or some odd dream.
The entire time he had been moving towards the queens but he came across four paper peons, he came to a halt watching them. He had no idea what the hell to make out of this "Four of a kind, better than my last hand." he said calmly he still had his spells active, the blue seals following him he pushed his hand towards the four pawns. The ice shards started to move forward, it was slow at first almost as if they were peeking forward. These ice shards looked clear like the last four he brought forward but it had a black frosty mist coming off it. Trusting his hands forwards the shard comes rushing towards the perceived target, while they were coming down the pawns had come rushing towards him but they hadn't been fast enough to be able to not be hit by the ice shards.
When each of them where hit they were also knocked back luckily being made out of paper they shredded before they hit anything. "Flimsy craftsmanship" he said heading towards more enemies he would be his last stop, he was carefully watching for any civilians that might have been foolish enough to be out in the middle of this. He paused for a moment as he felt dizzy, his hand going to his head. He was past his limits again, it wasn't that surprising he wasn't giving his body enough time to rest between missions and training. He knew the threat of the daemons were growing day by day, he knew he wasn't strong enough to do much and that didn't help him in regards to resting. The fact he couldn't touch the fire mage Valo bothered him, even in his spirit dive he lacked the power to do much.
He had increased his training even though he still hadn't recovered from learning his dives or using it at the royal knight exams, then there was the fact that Lydia had requested to transfer to the Azure Deer. They were no longer together a lot of the time meaning unless they were both at the same estate then there was little chance he could get advice if he were to ask for it. In honesty, part of him was happy about that as she would have likely told him to rest and at that point, it wouldn't have been a request. Taking a few deep breaths he felt the weakness lifting before making his way forward 'You need to rest after this Hania or I will get Winter to contact Lydia if you keep pushing like this...' "Yes, I am aware of what it means Amostia but it isn't exactly like people are going to be nice to each other while I recover." he said to his spirit.
'No, that's true but there is more than just you doing this job. You need rest, no one expects you to do this every day without any, you'll be no use to anyone if you keep going like this.' the spirit said to him, he couldn't argue with the logic, well he couldn't argue completely. "Fine, I'll rest when I finish this task." he said his undertone showing annoyance even though he seemed completely calm. He hated having a spirit at times because he knew full well that he would follow through with his threat and that wouldn't have ended well for the ice mage. With the pawns defeated when Charles checked the map there would be six knights, the two queens and the rogue to deal with, he knew that the two mages would meet in the centre of town if this kept going, it might have been for the best in all honesty.

After taking out the four pawns that he encountered, Charles continued his search to find more enemies. The map certainly made things easier, as he was able to see in detail that Hania had managed to take out a few enemies. A change of plans occurred as the ice mage seemed to have encountered four pawns on his way. He had noticed that the remaining four pawns on the map had disappeared. Which meant that the Crimson Lion encountered them and used it as a chance to get rid of them. Nothing wrong with that has it only sped up the mission, the quicker they got rid of the enemies and the easier they could secure the town. The silver mage continued looking at the map Hania had given him and noticed that four knights remained and were heading towards the ice mage's location. It would be better for Hania to handle the Queens and the rogue mage. While he intercepted the knights so they didn't get close to him so he could handle his part. Now that the knights were on his line of the mission they began to charge towards him. Their fighting pattern wasn't any different from the pawns. He had initially expected for them to be slightly smarter in regards to combat tactics [break][break] "Possible, but I doubt it. I wouldn't be surprised if the deck resulted to be too powerful for him to handle, though." If he Eventually, Charles ran into the four Knights placing himself in front of the four knights that were attempting to head forward which was around the place Hania was at, several meters away from him. "Too bad you're not getting past me..." Now that the knights were on his line of the mission they began to charge towards him. Their fighting pattern wasn't any different from the pawns. He had initially expected them to be slightly smarter in regards to combat tactics. The silver mage was already familiar with their method of attack, so he knew a good counter. He did know that the knights were tougher than the pawns, so he would have to use stronger spells to get defeat them. "Barrage." Charles declared as large chunks of silver rose up from the ground, sending a barrage of silver spikes towards the knight that was charging towards him. The knight was defeated almost instantly by the impact of the silver spikes, as some of the spikes impaled its body. The knight faded with only three enemies remaining. The second knight charged the Black Bull, who was met with a second barrage of silver spikes impaling its body and defeating it with ease. The two remaining knights rushed the silver mage at a high speed, the distance between him and the two enemies was enough for him to dodge the incoming attack. Charles was able to feel the two knights coming in his direction via Ki and detected the direction from where the two attacks were coming. He jumped in front of them, dodging the incoming slash from the two knights. "Silver Shards!" The Black Bull said, successfully landing behind the two paper knights and casting a spell to wipe both of them out. Shards made out of silver were created, followed by sparks of electricity that came from his hands. The shards were directed towards the two knights, the shards penetrated through their body and successfully defeated them. [break][break] After the brief, but intense battle. Charles let out a sigh of relief, looking at the back that was given to him by the ice mage. Now only three enemies remained the two queens and rogue mage. The silver mage began to make his way towards the location of the three remaining enemies, by the time he gets there Hania will be probably done with them. And if he wasn't then he was willing to give the Crimson Lion a hand to wrap things up. Otherwise, he would just regroup with him to make sure that the two had finished their job and managed to free the village from the rogue mage. [break]

[attr="class","haniaimage"]❝I hear a song of woe shadowing our past in sorrow.❞
[attr="class","haniascroll"]The ice mage checked the tether that he had on the other and noticed it was moving efficiently and that was fine for him, he wished he could advance this spell to allow him to check the health status of the one wearing it but it seemed like it would be a pain to try and develop but there was nothing saying that it couldn't be possible he supposed. He would just need to understand how sensory and healing would work to make such a spell reality which meant he would be reading during the time he was resting. He said to the spirit he would rest up and he could read books within his bed, then again it was going to end up becoming like a book fort like normal. Then again if he was chosen to be a royal knight then he would have training soon enough.
The ice mage found himself in the centre of the village, he saw the two queens and the rogue, from what he remembered they would all require two of his current active offensive spell or he could drop that spell and just hit all three of them with a slightly stronger spell. Either way, it would tire him a bit more than he would like but he had a job to do and would see it through to the end. He ended frost bombardment instead he moved his left hand in front of him as if holding onto something an elegantly crafted composite longbow of ice is formed within his grasp. Moving his right hand forward he pulls the string back, as he does an arrow of black ice formed. Releasing the bowstring of ice allows an arrow to shoot forward towards the first queen, he wasted little time drawing the string back two more times releasing them in quick succession towards the second queen and the rogue.
Given the range and how quickly they shot there would be no way that any of the arrows missed, the two queens were defeated while the ice arrow pinned the rogue to a nearby tree making him scream in pain. The ice mage walked over and punched him in the face to knock him out before ending the spell watching the man slump to the ground. Grabbing him by the collar he would just drag him behind him towards where to were the tethered marking on Charles was. "Done and dusted, I trust you can make sure he gets to the prison." he asked the silver mage as he cancelled the spells, once everything was said and done he'd bow in his normal manner "Till we meet again Charles." he said respectfully before he left the area to go home and get some much-needed rest.

Charles arrived managed to regroup with Hania, around that time he had spotted the ice mage punching the rogue mage after having defeated him. Essentially knocking him out without any issues. He had arrived right on time as the one responsible for all of this chaos was now defeated. It took some time, but after a while their efforts were successful. The rogue mage was no match to the two Magic Knights. Hania dragged the unconscious body of the criminal all the way to where he was. Confirming that he was now knocked out. It seemed like the Crimson Lion wanted him to handle the rest and make sure he went to prison. As much as he didn't want to, he didn't have much of a choice at this point. "Alright then... I'll handle it from here and make sure this guy ends up in a prison." The silver mage nodded as Hania bowed to him and said goodbye, leaving the town. This left him alone with the unconscious body of the criminal, anyway he found something to restrain him and proceeded to take him to the prison afterward. [break][break] [Exit Thread] [break]
