[attr="class","header"]Mandatory Beach Episode
[break] The kingdom had been put through the grinder over the last year, there had already been three daemon attacks that had caused a lot of damage, one of which had actually succeeded. The town of Kikka had been engulfed in darkness for two months under the daemonic rule. It had eventually been liberated but the damage had been done, there was now civil unrest and sewed the seeds of distrust towards the magic knights and their ability to protect the kingdom. Now there were three new threats that made the old ones seem like child's play, the unholy trinity of Aamon, Asmodeus and Lilith. [break][break] They were daemonic royalty and their strength made the captains and even Jagen concerned about the future, still, the Lilygate, Ravencrest, Vermilion and Yuiee families came together to host one hell of a beach party. There would be games, food, swimming and overall a fun lively atmosphere to show even though they knew what was to come they would never show fear and nor should any other. It may have seemed foolish, but, they didn't see the point of worrying about a threat that would come to an end like so many before and many after would. They were living for the here and now not the future.
"When you spend so long trapped in darkness, you find that the darkness begins to stare back."
The previous daemon's invasion of Kikka, the looming threat of the Archdaemons, the Magic Knight Exams....and planning for a wedding. Hans had a lot on his mind about the past, present, and future, but now was not the time for that. The dark mage needed to clear his mind for a little, and fortunately for him, the Kingdom as a whole had a similar idea. Various summer festivities were being held most likely to keep people's spirits high despite the threat on the horizon. The kingdom surely needed this, and Hans did as well...
The dark mage found himself once again in Raque, but it wasn't for fishing, pirates...or krakkens. No, he was here to attend a beach party, and he wasn't alone. With him was his fiancee, Suna who if it weren't for her would not have even shown up to this. It wasn't as if Hans was insecure about his body, if he weren't, the man would not have come wearing only a pair of blue swim trunks with little island designs on them. His scars were on display...among other things, but that did not bother him. What was bothering him were the various things on his mind. Part of him believed that this was all necessary but at the same time, he felt that he needed to be preparing for the upcoming things. It was hard for him to ignore.
Still, eyes wandered absentmindedly as he presumably held onto Suna's hand while they walked. Everywhere he looked, the dark mage saw people having fun. There were folks just conversing with each other, then there were others playing various games, one of them being volleyball, a common activity at beaches. There were also stands holding other games and such which only served to remind Hans of that one that tried swindling him back at the Spirit Ball. Then there were folks casually sunbathing in various positions without a care in the world, along with children who were either running around chasing each other, building sandcastles, and digging other people into the sand, some of them even appearing to be asleep while it happened to them!
Children can be scary sometimes...
Out in the water were people swimming, or surfing, the latter catching Hans' attention a little. The only surfing he has ever done was on one of his sword-like golems, so the dark mage had no problem keeping balance on something like a board...but he imagined that doing it on water would be a different experience. Finally was the food which had various smells that easily captivated the man's tastebuds before actually tasting anything...yet. Seeing all of these things made Hans smile a little, but the smile was quickly robbed by the things going through his mind taking over again.
"Hmm...This is fun and all, but..." Hans rested his free hand under his chin, looking down a little. "Are you sure this is okay, Suna? What about the wedding planni-" The dark mage looked over to the sound mage, and was instantly put to silence by her appearance once again. His dark eyes drank in the beauty of the woman, not even trying to avert them......momentarily forgetting about his issues. He still couldn't get over her choice of....swimwear for this, which at this point the man should be used to....but even the ever stoic Hans still had his moments of...weakness.

[attr="class","silasreescroll"] 50% WordCount Discount[break] Leonard had to admit he wasn't much of a beach person but he couldn't really say know when his family was behind the huge gathering. Sometimes he had to play his part as a member of the Vermillion family and show himself to social gatherings and other things. At the very least this time it wasnt something boring but something he could eventually get behind. He did enjoy parties, this was not going to be an exception.
[break][break]
"Alright...let's wear this thing and get going." He mumbled, as he moved to his wardrobe, where he would find the outfit he had specifically commissioned for his outing at the beach. It did cost pretty penny, but it was all worth it in the end. Stripping down to noting, the redhead would neatly settle his clothes on his bed before moving to wear his beach outfit. It consisted of a rubbery halfbody wetsuit with an integrated mask that had been magically enchanted to allow him to breathe underwater, a pair of long sleeved fingerless gloves and thigh lenght boots with integrated webbing for easy swimming. Most of the suit was white and blue with gold trimmings completing the look.
[break][break]
Sitting on his bed, they boy would begin by sliding the rubber boots over his legs, albeit with some difficulty given the material and how tight the whole outfit was going to hig his body. Having wiggled his feet inside, Leonard hopped off and took a couple steps to see if the fins he had would trip him or slow him down. Did not look like it, as his rather exotic looking footwear was actually quite comfy to wear. Up next he would squeeze inside the bodysuit part of his outfit, zip it all the way up to the back of the neck and pull the mask over his mouth and nose. His voice was probably going to be slightly muffled by the thing but it was a minor setback. Finally, the gloves were worn and he was ready to have fun
[break][break] "Hm. This feels pretty nice." He would chime as he stretched around before exiting his room at the inn and walking the short distance to the party. His fins would soon hit sand ans he walked onto the beach with the bare essentials and his grimoire savely stashed in a waterbroof bag. "Looks like I'm early." Leonard said soon as he could get his bearings around the sandy plateu. [break][break] There weren't many people around, meaning all the guests hadn't arrived yet. Which probably was a good thing, at least to him. He could happily choose his spot on the beach without having to bicker for it with other people. He was skipping straight to the fun part of chilling and possibly jumping in the water to test his wetsuit's capabilities.
[attr="class","florencetext"] It was finally summertime in clover which was also Lydia's favorite season as the heat never really bothered her as a mage with a heat-based element. It also marked that summer festivities would be happening soon. There was of course talk if any would even happen this year given the deamon threat. However, both the common people and nobles came together to make sure some still happened to give the citizens of clover hope and show clover was still strong. This was of course all an act in Lydia's eyes as there was a good chance the royal knights could fail in their fights. Sure Lydia and the other captains were training to make sure their squads were as strong as possible when the time came to confront the threat. However, that didn't change the fact that they knew very little of the deamons they were going to fight currently. [break][break] The former vice-captain of course wouldn't speak this out loud. She of course believed in the power of clover but she was also a realist and knew they were at the disadvantage this time. Today however wasn't the day of those kinds of thoughts. After all, she was spending the day at the beach with her partner Alyssa Lilygate. Their families along with the Vermillion and the Yuiee all came together to rent out the beach at Raque for a nice few days at the beach that all were welcome to take part in. Seeing as Lydia was the head of one of the families to arrive she was one of the first to arrive at the beach most likely with Alyssa already. The light mage herself was wearing a two-piece swimsuit that was white with red accents. [break][break] This of course showed off just how toned Lydia was as the former vice-captain was basically pure muscle thanks to the training she did that some would call insane. It of course also showed off the one scar Lydia had on her body which was just above her hip and was four inches long. After looking around for a bit the pinked haired mage would then turn to Alyssa and speak. So what should we do first?

(50% WC thread)
Waylynn was dressed for the occasion the two piece swimsuit was white, a shade brighter than her alabaster skin, with a skirt that just barely hung over the bottoms. There was limited time she could show so much skin without the sun burning her but she'd hardly want to miss a chance to relax a bit especially if the noble families were going out of their way to sponsor the event.
She glanced over towards the spirit with her, the salt fairy had gotten a fair bit more controlled with herself after talking and training with Hania and his ice spirit. To put it mildly she was being more reflective before acting. She did look like she'd desperately want to go and join in making Sandcastles with children though.
Deciding what to do had her looking around, capitulating to her spirit too often was getting her into trouble and she needed to consider these things as well. Eventually she spied Lydia once again being reminded in their differences between them, it wasn't an issue but it did remind her of what she still needed to accomplish. She would likely avoid Lydia for now so she started wandering farther down the beach.

Aesling had heard about a little get-together that was to happen at the beach; she figured to herself that this would be a better chance to meet other people and to get familiar with the other Magic Knights that were not in her own squad. Aesling also had figured this would be a nice chance to not be in that hot outfit she always wore when it was quite warm out recently.
So arriving at the beach she carried a bag over one shoulder with her grimoire and other beach supplies she figured she would need, such as a mat and umbrella, inside. The white haired lion is currently outfitted in a white swimsuit of sorts, it being white fabric that covers her chest and around her hips is a sort of diamond pattern with her full midriff showing and most of her back as well. A prominent scar is visible on the girl’s pale skin near her neck. Over that though she was currently wearing a simple shirt that she had planned to take off if she wanted to tan or actually go into the water.
Aesling was quick to spot some of the others that had arrived seeing two people she recognised but only one of the she formally met. She of course had known of the Royal Knight’s Lydia Ravencrest but never formally met her. As for the other person she recognised it was because she knew he was in the Crimson Lions having seen him during the training. As such she made her way over towards where the Vermillion was setting up to set up her own stuff. She took a mat out from her pack, setting it down on the sand to make a place to sit down before impaling the umbrella she brought into the ground and opening it, providing her some shade to sit down under for the time being.
For now the slime mage would simply watch the others to see if anyone else she found interesting would show up, but if not she figured she may end up talking to that formal vice-captain or the boy she knew was on her squad with her.

Why was she going through with this? Why was she, a noble lady and heiress to the Reinsberg family, wearing such a positively ridiculous swimsuit? It was far too exposing. Far too much! Though the coat fit loosely below her shoulders was at least sewn to the bikini top to minimize any chance of an unfortunate "slip", the bottom left... a lot to be desired.[break][break]
It only barely covered enough to not expose anything, and if it wasn't for this coat covering most of her back, anyone behind her would have a most excellent view of her posterior. It barely covered anything at all. Her slender, hourglass figure was not at all hidden.[break][break]
The coat was clearly tribal. It was as if this swimsuit had actually been crafted from the hide of some creature rather than made via a simple seamstress. And that's because it was. This swimsuit was a gift to the brunette from one in the Ryuutei when she had visited the country shortly before the summer event. Verena didn't have it in her to decline the offer, and she didn't have time to go and find a new swimsuit, either.[break][break]
Verena had put her hair pack in the twin tails; given how much she was exposing, if she could at least pretend to have some level of innocence right now, it wouldn't be the worst thing. Though she knew better. With how much was on display, she wondered if she could even get married at this rate...[break][break]
A pair of durable sunglasses rested upon her head, instead of her usual reading glasses. Leather wristbands had been made for her, as well as leather platform sandals. It was difficult to walk on the sand in these, though that was mostly because she wasn't sure. Truthfully, the brunette was spending more time trying to cover herself up as she awkwardly moved around. At least nobody she knew would see her.[break][break]
The Ravencrest would likely be here, but Lydia was likely to be too busy to care. However, if the likes of Hania or that one blonde were to be here, she didn't think she could live it down. To say nothing if Suna and others were here. It would be too embarrassing![break][break]
It didn't help she could feel the stares all around her. The stares were... different this time though. In the past, when she felt eyes upon her, she felt disgust towards herself. She felt anger towards herself. Uncertainty and doubt. But now, a feeling she couldn't really explain was afflicting her. She didn't like it. This heat was frustrating.[break][break]
The brunette wasn't interested in swimming as much as she was in just being able to enjoy the beach. She hadn't ever been to the beach, and given the announcement, she felt that there was no better time than now. At least with Lydia's potion, the markings that were a calling card of her curse had dispersed for the time being. Nobody would judge her. Nobody would think less of her. At least, not for that...[break][break]
...even with her coat covering part of her chest, there was still some cleavage that managed to pop up. Her stomach, part of her waist, and effectively the entirety of her surprisingly long legs were all easily viewable. "I just need to set up a place to get some shade..." Verena thought to herself as she moved to pitch her umbrella.[break][break]
The heiress found a nice place that didn't have too many people around -- though there was still enough. It was impossible to find a truly empty space on this day, after all. However...[break][break]
Once she managed to get her umbrella set up, as well as the blanket she had brought with her (she was using a golem to transport everything she was bringing with her), she stopped. There was Hans and Suna in the distance.[break][break]
"No, no, no no no no!" the woman practically screamed in her head.[break][break]
...well, it had been a while since she had spoken to them. First, she wanted to try to get her head together and try to think of some sort of lie as to why she was wearing something this scandalous in case they asked. Maybe Michail wouldn't be here, at least...[break][break]
Of course, it was just as possible that someone else managed to see her and approached her before she would even have a chance at conversing with the two lovebirds.
[attr="class","tamaflowersscroll"] Even with everything going in regards to the kingdom she had her own issues she was working through, during her training session with her captain and others she had been summoned home suddenly. She had no idea what it was for until the day of the meeting, then the bombshell was dropped on both her father and herself, the Jaegar's wanted a union between the two families through the marriage of Echo and herself. She didn't know how exactly to take this as her heart belonged to Valo, she played her part and remained quiet. She found herself weeping internally as she knew if her father accepted there would be nothing that she herself could do about it, her fate would have been sealed. She still remembered how Echo made her feel within the cursed forest by the Rogue's Refuge and if that was the person he was she was questioning their friendship. [break][break] Little did they know her father had received a letter telling him not to do business with the Jaegar family with what she could only guess was a scathing review of their character they had received additional guests. Valo had come to her home with additional people which she never believed she would see again. They were greeted by her father who had to leave to deal with matters of the estate but it had been clear he was less than impressed with the Jaegar family in general. They had been given two options before her father had left while making arrangements to meet the other group later. The doll-like mage wanted to give Valo a hug but there were too many eyes on them and so she couldn't, it was very upsetting to her but not as much as the insults that came from the Jaegar brothers. [break][break] She had made her sentiments crystal clear that she wouldn't allow disrespect from anyone to anyone on her families land as it disrupted the harmony. She started showing Valo and his entourage to the palace they would be staying in all the while the Jaegar's took their leave. She liked Echo even if he was a bit misguided, she had seen some of the misery and pain he had been put through so could understand to a degree but now he was acting like the thing he had hated. In honesty, had she known she would have been thankful as she didn't like the side she had seen of him since he left her estate the day she brought him. The rest of that time was a bit blurry given she had been focused on getting back to training, something her parents still didn't want her doing but orders were orders. [break][break] While back at training word got out of some things being hosted, including a beach party that her family were hosting with the Vermilion, Lilygate and Ravencrest. She knew that training was important especially with what they were facing but rest was also required, she requested if they could take a few days off so they could rest their bodies. She had originally intended to go to the festival but Valo had offered her an invite to go to the beach, she knew that was a disaster waiting to happen but she nodded and agreed. It was the first time he had invited her to do something that wasn't related to their job, it seemed as if they had actually begun to court properly. It wasn't something done in her own families culture but, she wasn't in her own world but his and she knew that it was normal for dates to be a thing. [break][break] He had told her that her normal clothing wouldn't be suitable for the beach, which sent her into panic mode as she had no idea what would be as she had never been to the beach before. She had asked Elenor and she was shown swimwear that made her turn so red a tomato would be jealous. She honestly could have never worn a one-piece let a two-piece swimsuit she would be embarrassed for him to see her like that let alone anyone else that was on the beach at the time. She then went and asked Luli explaining what she had seen was normal swimwear, Luli told her that such things wouldn't ever be tolerated and she'd likely get hurt or worse. She had to agree with that statement but she really wanted to go to the beach but had no idea what to wear that was suitable. [break][break] Luli smiled and took her clothes shopping, she knew that she couldn't have what she had in mind made within the families estate both women would be punished after all. They went to a store in the royal capital that imported wares from distant lands and went through the clothing section. Everything seemed quite traditional eventually they started to get into a fusion style of clothing that was more Clovian but with an eastern theme, there were all sorts of things but Hinota finally found a baby pink dress with white lace at the bottom that came to about midway down her thigh, it was decorated with sakura blossoms and pink goldfish showed she shoulders, the flat of her chest, some of her back and arms but it came with a pink semi-transparent top to go over it that to had sakura blossoms on it. It had an obi like bow at the front and on the sleeves were white silk tassels. [break][break] It was perfect for her, she moved to try it on and place on some white stalkings that came above her knees with pink ribbon at the side with the normal sandals she wore she looked quite different. She moved to pay for her new clothing while Luli held her old clothing before they got back in her carriage and headed towards Raque where the beach party was to take place, she undone her hair completely and let it lay loose upon her back while taking off her make up. If this was indeed a date she wanted him to see her properly not a doll, he already knew he could see past the mask that everyone took at face value but the pair had spent much time getting to know each other. [break][break] As they got near she looked to Luli and was given a reassuring smile, she knew that the woman would be nearby and was told not to worry about not having brought food because there would be plenty being provided. She was now starting to wonder if Valo actually liked her cooking, then again she had never told him what he had been eating in that time after Kikka she had made as it didn't actually seem relevant. The carriage came to a stop and Luli got out helping Hinota out after her, the doll-like mage already felt out of her element just being there as it was so busy and filled with a lot of people she had never met before. She felt proud that her family had been included in hosting these festivities but she obviously looked like a fish out of water and so just remained away from everyone for the moment.

Kikka is a town known to be the defensive foot-hold for the Clover Kingdom, it is the town that sits in the grey area of what could be considered the noble region and the common region. It is due to this that there is a diverse range of people and backgrounds that called this place home. [break][break] A young fire mage found himself getting into trouble when he decided to steal some vegetables from a garden of jewellers. The mother of the family was the one that caught him and even told the boy and his mother that they just needed to ask due to them having more than enough. It was the beginning of a new bond between the family and the fire mage. [break][break] Over time the boy grew and where he was wanting to learn the next flashy fire move from the former purple orca. She would tell him that he needed to learn how to walk before he tried to run or those he cared about would get burned by those same flames that treasured so much. Of course, being young he didn't understand what she was getting at. [break][break] The woman's husband attempted to teach the street smart and somewhat rough male his craft. He, of course, got bored real quickly because crafting jewellery was a slow process that often was very detail orientated. Still, the man tried. On the day the fire mage was scheduled to leave Kikka for the exams the man called the young mage into his workshop. [break][break] He was just finishing up a double ring set and told him to put every wish and promise he could into a single flame and release it onto the ring. Somewhat sceptical the fire mage did what he was asked and thought it was for some sort of trinket for the woman that had helped him grow. The man placed the ring into a box and handed it to the budding mage. [break][break] "Valo, we see you as our son and we are proud to see the man you've grown into. You've helped create something that is unique and special, keep it with you and give it to someone that you believe deserves what you put into it." [break][break] The now young man gave bravado with his normal attitude but took the ring. He held onto it for three years until something terrible happened. The family that he had loved so much was taken from him. The one that had seen him at his most vulnerable and had helped him through the grief was a young woman. A woman who themselves couldn't fight due to their beliefs. [break][break] He remembered the ring from all those years ago and offered it to her, telling her if she was ever in danger just to call him and he'd come running.

It had been a hard time for the Blue Rose captain, she knew that she hadn't been the only person that had suffered in the past months, plenty of people had suffered in one way or another. She had lost her mother's who had been paying a surprise visit home in the water daemoness Serena's attack. The former captain had resigned due to feeling shame she guessed, she had no way of knowing as when she came back home it was going the way of Atlantis. She had lost herself much in her grief but never fell into its darkness and that was thanks to her cousin Victoria and her partner Lydia being there to support her when she needed it the most. She had cried so much and even now still did, that kind of pain never really goes away but does dull overtime or so she hoped.
She had grieved with the people of Raque and found a way to help them through the rebuild evening opening her own home which still was in some aspect an orphanage for children. She didn't mind this, they were getting educations, clothed, good food and allowance, her staff treated them like their own children something many of them couldn't have or had lost in the attack. The older children of course had chores and were asked to help with the younger children when they had time. They had never been told that they couldn't have a social life and they could even have friends over so longs as a day notice was given. It was nice to see her home so lively once again it was like a garden in full bloom. She had unofficially adopted them and they seemed to have accepted it. It was just how her life was now.
She had given the same advice to grieve with the people of Kikka to the Green Mantis fire mage Valo Stark but given what she had read in the reports she could understand if he couldn't. She had watched him from afar and was afraid that he was going to fall into the same darkness of grief she had almost fallen into, but, he seemed to be fine and doing better than ever. She was glad that he had his own support system, whatever that might be there to help him. Since reading the reports of Kikka she could only imagine that the fire mage wanted revenge against the ones that killed part of his family, they being innocent victims of a twisted game played by daemons for their own amusement. She couldn't allow him to end his promising career in such a method and so had requested through the black market.
She like Lydia was very careful who she worked with from the underworld knowing one wrong move could not only sully her own career but her families name and she would allow neither. She had asked for specific rogues to handle this because they had been trusted by someone she trusted with her own life. The request had been a simple one, to gather information on the people who burned the mother and daughter alive within kikka so that they may be arrested for the crime. They were not to be tortured and most certainly not killed as they were to pay for their crimes legally by spending theirs behind bars in a small cage they couldn't escape from and could be ended at any point. It was sickening to her that they did this when the town should have stood together for strength and support.
She had gotten confirmation that the rogues in question had accepted the task and the stipulations attached, she was also told that the price would be given at the end of the task. She didn't care if she had to pay a king's ransom justice would be served, she would make sure of it. She was planning to go see Valo at some point to inform him of what she was doing and if he rather she wouldn't she, of course, would stop, but, she would also tell him to let go of his anger as it would only lead to misery and wouldn't bring his loved ones back. That, however, was something for another day, there had been too much darkness and pain with more on the way so much so that it was unclear if anything would be happening during the warmer summer months.
Jagen had made an announcement informing people of things he had been holding to his chest since before the attacks, she had to admit she honestly felt betrayed by him even if she could understand why he did it. The Royal Knights had been formed once more and the three captains had been training with the groups that they were leading. She put on the same brave face that was expected of her but in truth, she didn't know if they were going to be prepared enough for it, these weren't three mid-tier archdaemons they were going to be dealing with. No. The three that the Royal Knights were going to be dealing with could kill the ones they had been dealing with, with ease by what she had been told. It made her worried that the Royal Knight could not only actually fail in their mission but someone would lose their life in the attack.
Still, that wasn't a time for such thoughts royals, nobles and commoners had decided that they wouldn't let the unknown future take hold of them, that they held onto hope for a brighter future and so each played their own part to make events happen all over the kingdom. The royals had opened their palace for a few evenings to hold balls that would put many others in the past to shame, the Coral Peacocks and commoners of Hapshass were putting on a week-long festival that would set off fireworks each night to show even in the darkness there would always be light. She actually wondered if they would be able to see them all the way in Raque, she guessed only time would tell in that matter. They had even gotten fireworks for the beach for the exact same reason to remind people of the light in the darkness.
These were all troubles for another time, her own family and her partner Lydia Ravencrest's family had come together with an idea of renting one of the more luxurious beaches of Raque to hold a beach party for a few days, they had then reached out to the Vermilion and Yuiee family to see if they would be interested in hosting alongside them. The two families had quickly agreed and so planning happened quickly afterwards. For the next week, the beach was permitted to the four families and they were hosting a beach party for the entire time where anyone take part, they didn't care about the person's history or social status they were just having fun. There would be laughter, games, competitions, food and other tomfoolery. In honesty, she was looking forward to it just being normal and forgetting about everything that was waiting in the uncertain future.
She was wearing a two-piece white swimsuit with a sea blue hem, she had made sure that even if it was to get wet it wouldn't go transparent given the colour. She also wore a white sarong around her waist with golden stitching that matches some on the straps of her bikini top. She was looking over the many faces of those who had joined them already and was glad to see so many people turn up, before she could make heads or tales of who was who her attention was caught by Lydia as she spoke "Why don't we greet some of those who are attending, seems like the right thing to do and perhaps we can get something to eat." she suggested with a smile holding the others hand.
With the burst of leaves growing on the trees and time slowing down, life begins all over again in this beautiful season. The sky above was clear, a gorgeous azure shade with barely a cloud in sight. The bright summer rays seemed to chase all dark traces and doubts that lingered upon the land, if only temporarily. It was the time for freedom and youth and possibilities and adventures and explorations. 'Tis the time for relaxation, and with everything that had been going on, it was well needed by all.
The blue-haired elf walked—nay, almost skipped—next to her fiancée, fingers intertwined in his. It felt familiar, like the last time they were here in Raque. This time, however, there would be no fighting...not of the deadly serious type, she hoped. From the looks of it, she need not worry. The beaches were dotted with people, laughter and shouts filling the air as adults and children alike played in and out of the water. Everyone looked so happy, so alive.
Being a forest dweller herself, she was not completely at home on the water. However, after their last visit here to fight some krakkens, she had gotten a bit more comfortable with the ocean. And now they were nearing the spot. She could hear the gentle rolling of waves, but mostly, of joy from the people around the area. So caught up in the scene, she almost missed out on what Hans was saying.
"Hmm...This is fun and all, but…"
"We can't always be planning! The sun's out so we have to enjoy it too!" It was a time to celebrate and have fun at the beach, and as she never owned proper swimwear, she had gone for a little shopping trip. After seeing her try this certain swim set out, the lady at the store had pushed the elf to get it, almost to the point of embarrassment.
Her long blue hair was tied up in a half updo with a darker colored ribbon. It was a two-piece set, with her trademark blue and white colors. The top had a cute bow design in the middle, and it pushed her chest up and brought out curves she did not know she had. The bottom was a plain dark blue, though the little wrap around her hips made it slightly more fancy. A pair of cute sandals brought the look together, and she was quite satisfied with the look, if not also nervous at just how exposed she felt.
Then again, a tiny part of her also got this for purely selfish reasons: she wanted to see his reaction to it.
And of course, he did not disappoint.
"Are you sure this is okay, Suna? What about the wedding planni-"
Suna felt his intense eyes settle on her and she squirmed a little. "Is this..." she adjusted the beach wrap around her hips a little bit tighter, "...too much?" Or too little, actually. It was not something she was accustomed to wearing, but after a certain photography session, she was slowly becoming more sure and open with herself. It was not because she was not confident about her body, but she just was not used to showing so much skin, especially in public. But she bought it already, and she felt good wearing it. Besides, Hans seemed comfortable enough in his skin, scars and all. He did not seem at all perturbed, but then again, he always looked good no matter what.
...and it also helped that he was not wearing a shirt.
Well, maybe it was not helpful, with her eyes continuously turning to the dark mage...and not just at eye level.
The couple were nearing where Verena was, but Suna has yet to catch sight of the brunette. Needless to say, she will not be the only one shy about her choice of swimwear. There were also others she would soon recognize...soon.
Sitting on the beach Mikhal had his simple katana drawn and was in the middle of cleaning and sharpening it. You never know when something could pop up so he’d always stay prepared. Not that his blade had been used recently, but even time can wear down a sword. It didn't take long till he had it nice and sharp to the point it could was like a razor. Mikhal took great pride in not only his weapons but how he was able to keep them in battle ready states. Sliding the blade back into his sheath Mikhal looked around him, seeing as how he was currently in his magic knight uniform down to his headband, he had to be very careful.
Standing up Mikhal began to take a walk down the beach he was currently on, in Raque there are very few beaches besides around lakes, so this was a nice change. Considering the fact, he came all the way from the Forsaken Region it was a major difference in weather. The sun was shining the beach was warm, it was definitely a place for a summer vacation. Lately Mikhal had been doing just that using this time off as a vacation. Reaching into his pack Mikhal pulled out a coin he had poached from a vendor at the docks. Where he was located currently was the largest part of the beach with very few trees where around him. He did prefer that considering that would give anyone deeming him as an enemy no place to hide
Maybe I will go for a swim. Mikhal thought while looking at the crisp water that now expanded in front of him. He could even go fishing if he could time the catch right with his blade. The young mage would stand off quite a distance from the others and practice his thrusting technique. After enough repetitions he would finally make up his mind and began to make his way towards the beach line. It did not take exceptionally long for Mikhal to start catching small trout one by one. Patience is the key to catching fish which Mikhal was particularly good at remaining patient. Sitting perfectly still on the beach Mikhal sat with his makeshift fishing pole. Yet even as he sat waiting, he was wondering why he was even bothering fishing since he had plenty of others bother at the party. Shrugging Mikhal continued to sit there while waiting for something better to eventually show.
"When you spend so long trapped in darkness, you find that the darkness begins to stare back."
Of course, Suna was dead set on enjoying this glorious summertime event. Hans would've been surprised if she had agreed with him, but still, the man had his doubts about this. He did not think anything would go wrong...but the man still felt like they...or at least he was on limited time with everything going on. A part of him did want to enjoy this...especially with her, but he did not want to slack off on his new duties. It's times like this where Hans missed the days where he worked only for himself and not the kingdom. He was a little more laidback then, plus he had more time for the sound mage, but now Hans had responsibilities...responsibilities he was not going to slack off on!
Or so he thought...
The dark mage was now going to bring up the wedding planning which he felt was just as important...despite not knowing a thing about how to plan one, but then he got distracted. His wandering gaze fell upon the sound mage's features. She hadn't shown this much skin since...that modeling job. Part of Hans still was still not particularly thrilled to be a part of that, but the pay was decent...among other things of course. That modeling session started off a chain of...interesting events for the couple that he certainly did not regret. So in the end, Hans would be lying if he said that it wasn't worth it.
"Is this......too much?"
"Hmm..." Hans looked up into his lady's eyes, almost as if he were a deer caught in headlights. "N-no, of course not." Hans then looked away, trying to play things off cool. "I don't think it's too much..." which...exactly wasn't a lie. "It looks good on you." the dark mage added, looking back at her with that small smile of his, his thumb gently caressing her knuckles. Despite how...revealing it is, Hans genuinely found the swimwear beautiful on her. The color compliments her well, especially when comparing it to the clothing she usually wears. Though it may attract some...unwanted attention which Hans was a bit concerned about...but it was nothing he couldn't handle.
"Know what?" Hans then stopped and turned himself to be in front of the sound mage, placing his free hand with her free one. "You're right...The daemons, Royal Knights...and the wedding planning can all wait." Hans claimed, though he still had some concerns at the back of his head, but in the end, Suna was right...which is something he was going to have to get used to since he's planning on spending the rest of his life with her. "There is nothing else I'd rather be doing than spending time with my lovely...fiancee out here in the sun." Hans claimed, moving one of his hands so he can gesture to the rest of the beach. It still felt a bit strange to him, calling Suna his fiancee. They had been together for so long so it felt right that they would be moving on to the next level, but that word...it just felt so surreal coming out of his mouth, but he loved it...and her all the same.
With that, Hans continued to walk. "What should we do first?" Hans asked, but as he did, he caught sight of a familiar person. Could that be....No, surely it wasn't. If Hans were using his ki senses he'd know for sure, but as they got a little closer, it wouldn't be needed. "Hm, isn't that...Verena over there?" Hans gestured his head towards a brunette wearing sunglasses. The dark mage was a little surprised to see her here, not believing she'd be the type to...go to beaches. She was certainly dressed for it. "Verena?" Once he felt that they were close enough, Hans called out to her, not being loud since that wasn't his style, but he should still be loud enough for the summoner to hear. The dark mage would hold his hand up a bit in greeting, but as he lowered it, Hans had started to get this feeling...the feeling that he had forgotten something....causing him to look away at the two, his brows furrowed a bit in thought.

[attr="class","silasreescroll"]Along with the Ravencrest, Yuiee and Lilygate family, House Vermillion helped host a beach party. Heck, it was summer and they needed to take the time to take a load off and get rest in. Rest was equally as important as training and defending the kingdom. Taiyo made sure that things were in place at his estate in the early so he could be at the beach party that his family helped host. He made sure to get his swimwear and summer wear made customly. He also specially invited the lady who he’d formerly call his spacial mage but since the chat with Hania that tore into his soul, he started calling her Lucia and treating her like family. With Lucia going to the event, he also got her clothes custom made. She decided that it would be a good event to wear the necklace that he got her as well.
[break][break]
After getting ready, Taiyo and Lucia walked through a portal made by the latter. Once he had arrived, he made sure to look for the other heads of the families to let them know that he was present. They had gotten the necessary permissions needed for this beach party and just like anything that was important, got to planning. With all plans finalized and open invitations sent out, all that was left was the party itself. Finding Alyssa and Lydia together, the young Vermillion heir approached them. Lady Lydia and Miss Alyssa, nice to see you both are here in good health. I pray that you are both doing well. He’d take Alyssa’s hand and kiss it as it was her personal greeting preference. Allow me to introduce Lucia. After whatever conversation happened there, Taiyo would respectfully excuse himself to go greet other guests. Please excuse me while I go greet our guests.
[break][break]
While looking around, he’d see some familiar faces such as Leonard Vermillion, his cousin; and Aesling Xanthie, a member of his squad, The Crimson Lions. Deciding to approach his cousin first, Taiyo walked over and waved. Hey Leo! Nice to see you here. Seeing that she was a servant of the house, Lucia bowed to show respect to Leo. Since Leo didn’t tell her otherwise like Taiyo did, this was something she thought she needed to do to be respectful. “Lord Vermillion.” Taiyo would leave room for his cousin to reply but if not said he would speak to her next. There is no need to bow Lucia. Like I said, I consider you family and I think Leo doesn’t care for much honorifics, right cuz? Grinning big, Taiyo would look out at the ocean. It’s beautiful. Best time of year to come here too. Got to love the summer; Nice sunshine, Good time for a beach and lots of festivals and activities. Wouldn’t you agree, dear cousin?
[break][break]
After conversing with Leo, Taiyo would walk over to Aesling. Hey there, Aesling. I take it that you’re doing well and you’re having a good time. After all, this beach party was planned for all to enjoy. Giving her a friendly smile, he’d introduce the lady at his side. Oh, by the way, This is Lucia. She works at my family’s estate. Depending on what the response was would spark new conversation. At the same time, Taiyo would enjoy soaking in the sun especially since it was his magical element. Due to his affinity to the sun, he preferred hotter days and unsurprisingly, summer time. The festivals and events were bonuses that came with the lovely time.
[break][break]
From here, he’d let Lucia relax and enjoy the party like everyone else instead of staying at his side. After all, he brought her so she too could have a grand time. While walking to greet the other guests, he happened to come into contact with one he had met before although this time she looked very different. He nearly didn’t recognize her. The last time they met, she had her hair pinned up but now it was down. Her clothing was quite different as well. Greetings to you, Hinota. You look very nice. I hope you’re enjoying the party and the weather. Waiting for her to respond, he’d follow up with. How have you been?

[attr="class","glentext"] The beach... Considered to be the top place to go during the Summer season. The sand, the sun, the saltwater, and the waves. The only reason why would someone like Charles go to the beach was for the sake of relaxing and maybe with the chance of getting a good nap in a different place. The last few weeks ever since he came back to the Kingdom have been draining for him, much more than before he left. From his desire to prepare himself to take on the Vice-Captain's test, training for the Royal Knights, and doing his job as a Magic Knight. He has been doing a lot of work for the sake of preparing himself for the upcoming battle against the archdaemon Aamon. The silver mage deserved at least a day to relax, no? For once he wanted to get his mind of everything going on and take on his former lifestyle of a professional slacker for at least a day. This was his first time going to the town of Raque, believe it or not, he had never visited before. Mainly because he had no reason to go there, to begin with until now. Several influential families in the Kingdom decided to throw a Kingdom in Raque to ease everyone's worries about the upcoming threat. Additionally, they said there was going to food and if there was free food in a place, then Charles was most likely going to be there. [break][break] Charles made his way down the beach, multiple people were on it, followed by some familiar faces. The Black Bull was already accustomed to wearing casual clothing, but this time his choice of clothing was much more fitting for a place like a beach. A short-sleeved buttoned blue and white shirt with floral designs. Black trunks and a pair of sandals in order to walk around comfortably. The only issue however was the sand, it was just a mild annoyance to him, but still an annoyance nonetheless. He briefly closed his eyes to sense everything around the place that was filled with tons of people to locate anywhere that was empty or with the least amount of people. The silver mage managed to sense multiple Ki presences, the closest one to his position was Verena, followed by Suna and Hans. Although, he already knew the moment he sensed Suna that Hans was also going to be there. No way in hell were those two lovebirds going to be in a place like this without the other. Not like he meant it in a bad way, he didn't even know what love felt like and probably would never know. The Black Bull opened his eyes again and made his way towards where he had sensed Verena. As he approached towards and took a glance at her appearance he came to a stop. Just what the hell was she wearing? If it wasn't for the fact that he could sense his surroundings and that he knew it was her just by her presence then he wouldn't have believed it at first, but that was her. Her outfit was the complete opposite from what he had initially expected given the fact that she normally covered herself in clothing that covered her entire body. [break][break] "Yo Verena. He walked past beside her and greeted her. It has been a few weeks since he last saw her, recalling the time they went through a dungeon which was a major pain in the ass for him. It had its challenges, but the two managed to clear it out. Surprisingly enough, he wasn't expecting her to be in the place life this given her reserved personality. "Surprising to find you here. As for me, I'm just here for the food and maybe to relax. Things have been a pain in the ass lately. How are you doing?" Completely ignoring the fact about her choice of clothing, it wasn't something he felt like commenting on. It was questionable, not because she was a noble, he could care less about that fact, but because it seemed completely out of character on her part. Anyway, she was free to choose what she wanted to wear, the Black Bulls didn't judge people, much less for things like this. [break]

Oh no. Oh no, they were getting closer. The brunette's heart raced with embarrassment and ... a sort of curiosity, curiosity for something she could not understand. Verena heard Hans call out to her, and upon hearing her name, she moved to hide behind the umbrella that was securely placed in the sand. Of course, though her umbrella was set up, the umbrella itself was expanded outward. The result was that the best Verena could hope to hide behind was the pole, having dismissed her construct once she had finished setting up.[break][break]
Realizing that she looked ridiculous like this, she slowly stepped out, greeting the engaged couple. "Ah-uhm... hey you two," she said with a clearly uncertain and uncomfortable tone to it.[break][break]
"Yo Verena."[break][break]
Verena practically jumped right out of her skin, completely unaware of Charles's nearby presence until he greeted her. It was clear that exposing this much seemed to put her on high alert, especially given she had earned plenty of stares on the way and here. Or at least, by her definition, plenty. It was a very strange sensation and one that she couldn't fully comprehend how it made her feel.[break][break]
However, what caught her the most off guard was Charles's reaction towards her. Nothing was out of character though. His lax demeanor, his casual way of speaking. But something felt... missing from what he said. She just couldn't figure out what that something was.[break][break]
"Ah uhm... yes, I suppose it is. For the past few years especially, I wouldn't have dared come to a beach. But I've always wanted to at least once, so I figured now seemed as good an opportunity as any..." she admitted.[break][break]
"Summer is the sign that my birthday is fast approaching, so it seemed like a good reason. Plus, this was given to me by someone in the Ryuutei Village, so the timing was convenient..."[break][break]
cue awkward laughter.[break][break]
Verena glanced over to Suna and Hans at this point. "And what of you two?" she asked, trying to compose herself with a sincere smile. "Is this a date of a sort before the wedding?"[break][break]
Verena had to admit, Suna's swimsuit was very cute. It was effectively tailor-made for her, clad in colors that she was most commonly associated with. It was a very good match. She even did her hair in a way to match. Suna must have thought of this moment as a very important day for them if she had styled her hair in such a way.[break][break]
Verena found Hans' swimsuit surprising. She thought for sure he would wear black, but that blue worked for him. The tropical design, however, was clear that this was something that he had just found, fit, and liked. He wasn't anywhere near as picky as Suna must have been in picking it out. Not that she would blame him.[break][break]
Charles' outfit, however, was exactly what she would have thought. It was simple, efficient for the area, and most likely comfortable. For Charles, it was just a time to relax, and given that he had been assigned to the Royal Knights, it was most certainly for that purpose. He was here probably to get some relaxation before the big event. Not that his training had likely been slacking, but rest for the mind and body was just as important for what the Royal Knights were going up against.
