[attr="class","florencetext"] It didn't take long for more people to show up at the beach. Which wasn't much of a surprise after all who didn't like a day of fun in the sun? Well, Lydia could of course think of one person being her younger brother and heir to the family. Regardless it was great to have so many people show up and hopefully get their minds off of the deamon threat at least for a little while at least. After all, it wouldn't do good to stress about it too much. That of course didn't mean the former vice-captain wasn't worried about being prepared enough but she was really good at hiding it. As Alyssa spoke up Lydia would smile at her partner. Sure that's a great idea. [break][break] Before Lydia could look around again Taiyo Vermillon would walk over and greet the two of them before heading off to speak with more people. The pink-haired mage was going to tell him he didn't need to be so formal at the event but he was too far away and she didn't feel like yelling. Instead, she would once again go back to scanning the crowd. She spotted someone who was sharpening a sword and while weapons weren't banned hopefully he didn't get any dumb ideas to try and use it. She also spotted one of her cousins who seemed to be avoiding her not that it bothered the light mage. Hinota was also there which made sense seeing as her family was helping host it as well. Lastly, she spotted the group of four mages three of which she knew and the fourth whose name she only knew as he was a royal knight as well. [break][break] Verena was wearing quite the outfit not that Lydia would say anything as she didn't care what others wore. Shall we go join the group of four? Assuming Alyssa agreed Lydia would lead her over to Hans, Suna, Verena, and Charles. Suna, Hans, and Verena it's great to see the three of you here. Lydia would then turn to Charles. We haven't met but you must be Charles? I'm Lydia Ravencrest and the woman next to me is my partner Alyssa Lilygate. Hans and Verena of course might have been somewhat worried that Lydia was already up and about after the fight with her father and the fact she almost died. However, she didn't have time to sit around and recover.

With all of the things he currently had going on in his life, one could argue that Griswold was longer overdue for a lengthy break to get away from it all. In the past two months alone, he had delved into at least three different dungeons, fought his way through a qualification exam to become a royal knight, worked hard to root out an ancient vampire that threatened the safety of Kiten, ventured all the way from the forsaken realm into the witches forest for the second time in two weeks to fight a large monstrosity and a witch that stole cattle and more. And that wasn’t even mentioning the fact that he had also met up with the members of his royal knights team for the sake of training and preparing for Aamon. But in spite of all that, he was nowhere near done yet, as it wouldn’t be much longer until the magic knight exams would kick off, at which point he would try to prove himself worthy of becoming a member of the black bulls.
There were very few things as important for him as looking after the peasants of the forsaken realm after all, and it seemed like there was no better way of going about exactly that than by joining one of the two squads that was tasked with watching over it. And out of the two that were in the area, he had heard the most about the black bulls being the one in need of fresh blood and direction. And being as ambitious as it was when it came to protecting the realm, he would not be content with just being a member of the bulls as he could do everything they did as a mercenary without all of the bureaucracy to weigh him down. No, he had set his sights on one day becoming the captain of his own squad so he could determine the direction it was headed in and turn it into the well oiled machine the forsaken realm deserved it to be.
But for that, he would need to still get a lot stronger than he currently was. Just being known to some degree wasn’t going to cut it, even though most of the civilians from the forsaken realm had come to call him by a certain nickname: the Solarian Wolf. While it was a name that took some getting used to, he figured that it served the purpose that he had set out to achieve, which was to act as a beacon for all peasants in the country, letting them know that there was someone out there that was working really hard for their sakes. Truth be told, it was for that same reason that he had come to Hapshass in the first place. While he would not kid himself into believing he had a “system of spies”, the fact that he knew a lot of tavern owners and innkeepers, as well as a lot of hunters, farmers and merchants from the region, Griswold often heard the latest gossip rather quickly.
It was one of the perks of being a mercenary who’s loyalties were only to himself and to the people he had decided to protect. Part of him however hoped that he would be able to do well enough in the magic knight exams to actually be considered for the black bulls so he could bring about the vision he had for what he considered to be “his people”. For now though, he was a mercenary, and his people across the forsaken realm had spoken of strange occurrences across the countryside. A strange mist pulling in from the eastern ocean, bringing about what seemed like dragons moving freely throughout the briny vapor, of people going missing near the western ocean and reports of strange alluring song in the middle of the night. All in all, a job waiting to happen that should be investigated. After all, if there was money to be earned and people to be saved, he should at the very least have a look.
If nothing else, it would be a good training exercise in preparation for the magic knight exams and the inevitable fight against the archdemon Aamon. For as much as he hated being around beaches after what had happened during his last trip on board Captain Smack’s vessel that had him fighting against Krakens that threatened to drown all of them, he imagined it was something he would need to overcome sooner or later. For someone who had grown up in the forest, the ocean was always a scary place. On land, Griswold was fairly knowledgeable when it came to the beasts and beings that dwelled in the forests, swamps, meadows and even the mountains to a fair degree, but that did not carry over into the watery realms one bit. The seas and oceans were so incredibly wide spread and deep that one could never know exactly what kind of being, or beings might lurk beneath the waves. And to some degree, that scared him a bit.
Not liking the unknown, he had heard tales from fishermen about how the things that lived down there could grow to gargantuan sizes due to the fact that they did not need to contend with a whole lot of natural enemies, like the land-locked creatures did. But given how there were people in danger, Griswold had decided to get dangerously close to it anyway, as it was his self-proclaimed duty. Upon entering the beach however, it seemed like he was far from alone. In fact, throughout the people that were present here, he could clearly make out several faces that belonged to magic knights he had either met at some point, had just seen walking about from a distance or had actually done a job with. But that did not matter much right now, seeing as how he hadn’t come here to lay around, he had come here to observe and register any potential threats.
With that thought in mind, he traversed the beach to a point where he could at the very least sit in the shade, as he had dressed in a manner that was far too warm for this kind of heat. Finding a sand dune that provided just enough shade, he took his sword and stuck it straight up into the ground before taking off his short and resting his back against the crystalline structure of his sword. From his perch, he would be able to see far and wide, allowing him to see any who might approach him, as well as any signs of trouble that might pop their ugly faces up on the beach. And while he would not show it, he would actually make the most of this moment to just rest and not do any actual work, aside from observing obviously.
"When you spend so long trapped in darkness, you find that the darkness begins to stare back."
Even while they were walking towards the summoner, Hans continued to look a little distracted. Whatever was on his mind was on the tip of his tongue, but he just couldn't grasp it. He felt that whatever he was forgetting was important...but important how? He didn't even notice Verena trying to hopelessly hide behind an umbrella due to being lost in thought. The dark mage was about to turn around and ask Suna if they were forgetting anything until he heard a familiar voice call out to Verena.
Turning his head, the dark mage would notice Charles, one of his good friends showing up to the scene. "Well, if it isn't Charles." Just like that, the dark mage momentarily forgot about what he....forgot about. The man smiled a little and put his free hand up and balled it into a fist in an attempt to give the silver mage a fist bump. Whether Charles returned the fist bump or not, Hans would take a second to think about what he just did.
A fist bump!? Hans!?
The dark mage couldn't help but feel a little embarrassed about this and ended up rubbing the back of his neck. Things like fist bumps weren't really his style, but the more he has hung around Charles and Valo, the more Hans found himself becoming a little relaxed. A part of him enjoyed this feeling though and wouldn't mind hanging out with the both of them at once. The last time the three were together, it was under dangerous circumstances. Hans thought it would be nice if they could just hang around perhaps at some bar one day, and enjoy a nice cold one. It would be the first time Hans has done something like that since his late mentor. The dark mage may not believe it, but he is truly a..."bro" at heart, at least around Valo and Charles.
Hans' attention was back on Verena now as she mentioned two things that got the man's attention. Her birthday approaching, and the Ryuutei. "Oh, you've been there as well?" the dark mage asked, a little curious. Hans still remembers when he first traveled there with Satori. It all started because the dark mage was led to believe that people were being kidnapped from his "hometown" of Aries Garse, but it was just folks, wanting to seek a better life in Satori's land. Hans was skeptical at first, but after being given the tour of that place, Hans knew well that they would be in good hands. The dark mage hasn't seen Satori since. Perhaps he will stop by there again one day.
"My birthday is approaching too." Hans added, but he didn't seem all too interested in it. He didn't hate his birthday especially since he had some good memories with his mother and even his mentor after her on those days...after abandoning the Diamond Kingdom. But ever since they died, Hans had never celebrated his birthday, all part of him fully closing himself off, and focusing on his mercenary work instead. Even now that he is opening himself up to others again, Hans still didn't seem to care much about his birthday approaching.
Verena then asked the couple a question that luckily threw Hans out of his minor birthday issues. "I...suppose you can say that." Hans said before looking at Suna. He was still confident that the sound mage was only doing this because she thought the man was working too much which....may or may not be true. He then slyly closed his eyes before saying, "Hopefully, she won't rope us into another fishing contest..." muttering, but was purposely loud enough so that both women and Charles could still hear him, a small jab at what happened the last time the two were in Raque.
The dark mage then opened his eyes as he heard another familiar voice and looked over to see not only Lydia but the Blue Rose captain, Alyssa who he remembers briefly meeting at the spirit ball, dancing with Valo. "Hey you two." Hans said, giving them a light nod. Lydia was currently Hans' Royal Knight captain, but he was already acquainted with her prior to this, being that she is his fiancee's mentor which has led the trio into a few dungeon runs together.
Hans was about to say more to the two women, but then the dark mage heard some children laughing followed by a "Watch out!" The dark mage turned around to see a beach ball heading his way! The man was able to catch the ball, however, and one of the children playing shyly walked up to the group. Without the child needing to ask, Hans smiled lightly and handed him the ball back. The kid grinned happily and ran off back with the other children that he was playing with! Hans watched this for a little, but then his brows furrowed a bit as he watched one of the kids approach their parents. It wasn't the child Hans was focusing on, nor the parents...but the beach equipment that the family had. A cooler, umbrella, beach blankets...sunscreen.
"Give me a break..." Hans muttered to himself.
It was then, the man realized what he had forgotten....
Hans forgot to bring the freaking beach equipment he bought for himself and Suna with them! They were probably still in front of Suna's home he bet...As he thought of this, Hans pinched the bridge of his nose and closed his eyes, resisting every urge to let out a sigh. "Uh...." Hans was then looking around to see if he can find something to fix his...blunder. He then noticed some vendors, and with that, a bit of hope...but he needed to play it off as if everything is fine. "Err I'll be right...uh...back, Suna..." Hans claimed with a hint of sheepishness in his tone, before giving the blue-haired elf a peck on the cheek, speed walking off in the direction of the vendors, not daring to look back...

With the way things have been going lately, every day consisted of some kind of test or preparation for future events. Whether is completing his missions as a magic knight, and now a royal knight. Going through dungeon after dungeon, and even training for the upcoming fight against the Daemons. Now even his social life was a test, Valo had very little time to socialize and enjoy his days off. Which normally didn't bother him none, he normally liked to be worked extremely hard. He believed with enough perseverance there was no task he could not accomplish especially when it came to his tasks as a knight. But now he found his toughest struggles were not that of Daemon's, but of love and the Yuiee royal family. He found himself challenged in new ways, challenges he couldn't just punch in the face and be rid of the problem. And because of it, now he often did not know what to do.
[break][break]
Valo often didn't speak on the struggles he had going on in his head, he was stubborn this way sometimes. It's not that he was completely reluctant to do so, it's just that he would prefer to struggle with them for a bit to long before seeking some outside advice and guidance. Even with the wraiths with him to guide him, he blocked off certain thoughts from them. He knew for the most part where Kiyoshi, Anata and even Charlotte came from with their words of encouragement. Especially when it came from Hinota, he didn't want his choices so laid out for him. He wanted to make them all on his own, was he making the right choice? And for whom? Was this the best choice for Hinota? Was this the best choice for him? What about her family? Was he going to ignore the evils they committed? Was it his place to bring them to justice? Way to many of these thoughts lingered in his mind.
[break][break]
But today was a rare day, all because for maybe just a few hours he didn't have to think about all that. Today was just going to be used as a day for relaxation. There was a 'Beach Day' planned by some of the high noble families, it was a public event for all to come and enjoy themselves. And that's what Valo planned to do. He wasn't going to stress out the unknowns he was aiming to simply enjoy himself. Agneya who was resting ontop of his head was looking forward to going to the beach, the duo was riding on top of one of his dragon golems.
[break][break]
Valo was dressed in something really simply, some short green swimming trunks. That was all. Valo wasn't the type to be nervous or embarrassed about whatever he decided to wear. If he could walk around with nothing on, he probably would. He viewed his body as a sacred temple and there was nothing wrong with showing it off every once and a while. Flying in from the skies Valo would get a birds eye view of all his friends and allies that he knew, and it was much to many for individual hellos. So instead he decided it was best to say hi to everyone at the same time. "HELLO EVERYONE!!" the fire mage shouted from up above, with a simple wave. From what he could see there was Hans, Suna, Verena, Lydia, Alyssa, Taiyo, Waylynn, Charles, Gris and of course Hinota with Luli was nearby.
[break][break]
He had his dragon golem fly over to the flower mage first to say his hellos. "Hi Hino and Luli!" he said with a bright smile on his face, Agneya followed up "Sorry we're late!"

[attr="class","tamaflowersscroll"] Hinota stood oddly it had been the first time she visited the beach and it seemed as if she may have came overdressed by the standards of others that were there. This was far underdressed than what she was used to, in honesty she was feeling super self-conscious about the entire thing. She didn't even want to imagine what would be said if her family saw her in such a way, that was an issue for another time. It would stand to reason that Ozma be the one who attends on behalf of their family but she had been invited by Valo, he said it would be a fun day out to forget all the darkness to come and the troubles that could possibly come up as they tried to gain permission for their betrothal. She knew her world wasn't his and so was thankful that he was so understanding, even if he may believe it stupid though she didn't know one way or another. [break][break] She allowed her right hand to remain at her side but her left moved up as she held onto her sleeve, it was a coping mechanism she had, had from when she was very little. Normally it was just holding onto the cuffs of her sleeves but her anxiety had skyrocketed. 'Perhaps this was too much for me to do...' she thought to herself, it wasn't that she couldn't be in a room or place with a lot of people it was more she wasn't used to being in a place with scantily clad people. She just shook her head a little to get the doubt away and held her sleeve a little tighter 'No. He's trying his best for me so I can work through this for him.' she could hear the chuckling in the back of her mind. [break][break] 'Go to sleep.' she demanded as her eyes closed, they only opened as she heard a familiar voice "O... oh... hello Lord Vermillion." she said her hands going to her left side as she bowed at the knees as she normally did when off duty. She seemed almost startled that he came up to her, seeing how he was dressed she couldn't help but turn her back to him. It wasn't that she was trying to insult him but she came from an overly conservative family where she even had to hide her face frame men. She had never seen a male as uncovered as Taiyo currently was. She had only seen three men without shirts on before, and she had, had the same reaction to each of them. "I... I'm not meaning to be rude, I swear but..." she paused for a long moment. [break][break] "I... I'm not used to seeing other's forms so sparse from being covered, especially males." she said honestly her voice showing both shame and embarrassment as she confessed this to him. "I... I'm sure my normal clothing told you this." she said hoping that he would be understanding on the matter "I am trying my best though." she continued biting her bottom lip as she looked to the sand. Normally she would have run for the high hills but she was trying to adapt, she would need to... right? This was normal for the world beyond the mist of her families estate, wasn't it? Valo was doing his best to adapt for her and so she would do the same. "I just arrived not so long ago with my handmaiden Luli so I haven't really tried to enjoy anything." she said honestly "I am enjoying the warmth though." This was the truth. [break][break] "I have been stressing over things out of my control as foolish as that may seem." her voice was small when she spoke "I was requested to join the royal knights as well by the Wizard King." it was a huge honour of course but it wasn't one her family was overly happy about even if they wouldn't voice it. "My boyfriend is seeking my father's approval for betrothal and I'm waiting for him for our first date." She knew it was a strange thing to have a date when there was also a betrothal but they came from different worlds so they, themselves were trying to find a balance they were both happy with. It was a slow process but they were learning more about each other and that was helping. He guessed Anata and Kiyoshi were helping him understand her a bit more too though. [break][break] "I heard you visited my families estate, I hoped you enjoyed yourself Lord Vermilion." It was unusual for people outside of the estate to go through the mist and those within it rarely left. It wasn't that they were being held against their will, it was just the world outside scared them. It was their choice, the estate was self-sustaining so there was no real need for them to leave if they didn't want to. Hearing a very familiar voice from above she looked up and smiled waved, at current, she wasn't overly embarrassed as she hadn't seen how Valo was dressed. She expected him to be wearing swimming shorts like the others around and a t-shirt, that was going to be shattered very quickly. Seeing the dragon moving to her she smiled her eyes went wide seeing Valo shirtless she grabbed her sleeves and brought up her hands up to cover her face, her face going so red the sun would be jealous. [break][break] "Va... Valo... you're shirtless" she stammered, this was the first time ever seen him in such a manner. She wanted to run so badly but she told herself earlier that she would remain, that she would try for him and she would. Luli brought up her hand and chuckled seeing just how bashful her lady was "My lady isn't used to seeing the male form, having lived on the estate I am sure you understand that." she said to Valo as she moved forward and brought down Hinota's hands "If he is to be your groom you should get used to seeing it. This is his world, not ours and this is just normal." It was a slow process but Luli was helping her cope with things she would otherwise struggle with. "I'm sorry Valo... it's just..." her voice was clearly embarrassed "But, I'm going to get used to such things." she said her voice was gentle but it showed determination although her cheeks were still red.

Kikka is a town known to be the defensive foot-hold for the Clover Kingdom, it is the town that sits in the grey area of what could be considered the noble region and the common region. It is due to this that there is a diverse range of people and backgrounds that called this place home. [break][break] A young fire mage found himself getting into trouble when he decided to steal some vegetables from a garden of jewellers. The mother of the family was the one that caught him and even told the boy and his mother that they just needed to ask due to them having more than enough. It was the beginning of a new bond between the family and the fire mage. [break][break] Over time the boy grew and where he was wanting to learn the next flashy fire move from the former purple orca. She would tell him that he needed to learn how to walk before he tried to run or those he cared about would get burned by those same flames that treasured so much. Of course, being young he didn't understand what she was getting at. [break][break] The woman's husband attempted to teach the street smart and somewhat rough male his craft. He, of course, got bored real quickly because crafting jewellery was a slow process that often was very detail orientated. Still, the man tried. On the day the fire mage was scheduled to leave Kikka for the exams the man called the young mage into his workshop. [break][break] He was just finishing up a double ring set and told him to put every wish and promise he could into a single flame and release it onto the ring. Somewhat sceptical the fire mage did what he was asked and thought it was for some sort of trinket for the woman that had helped him grow. The man placed the ring into a box and handed it to the budding mage. [break][break] "Valo, we see you as our son and we are proud to see the man you've grown into. You've helped create something that is unique and special, keep it with you and give it to someone that you believe deserves what you put into it." [break][break] The now young man gave bravado with his normal attitude but took the ring. He held onto it for three years until something terrible happened. The family that he had loved so much was taken from him. The one that had seen him at his most vulnerable and had helped him through the grief was a young woman. A woman who themselves couldn't fight due to their beliefs. [break][break] He remembered the ring from all those years ago and offered it to her, telling her if she was ever in danger just to call him and he'd come running.

[attr="class","glentext"] It seemed like at almost the same time, Suna and Hans showed up to where Verena was. Charles didn't know that the two were familiar with her at all. But it seemed like they knew her for a while now, maybe even longer than he did? Regardless of that, it was good to see them once again. The last he saw Suna was when he had arrived back to the Kingdom and then Hans just a few weeks later to do a mission alongside him for old times sake. "Yo Hans and Suna, been a while, huh?" The silver mage noticed that his hand-formed into a fist and wanted to give him a fist bump. Naturally, he accepted and formed his hand into a fist, bumping the dark mage's fist. Although, it was unusual for him to do such things, as he was fully aware of the type of man he was. It was a nice thing, a sign of friendship and the hardships they had endured together. He didn't mind at all and in fact, appreciated it. The conversation followed with Verena admitting that hadn't come to the beach for years, for whatever reason, but it wasn't that surprising to him given how reserved she was. The main thing that surprised him was her choice of swimsuit for the beach. "It's never too late to go to the beach." [break][break] It seemed they had a few things to catch up on. It was true that Hans and Suna were getting married, they probably wanted to take a break from all the preparations that related to the wedding. He had never organized a wedding and probably never will, but he could only imagine it was a pain in the ass to deal with. Although, if anything it would be better to do a honeymoon, they were probably saving that for when the daemons were completely wiped out. Then the two could take a well-deserved vacation after everything was sorted out. The dark mage was probably too busy training as a Royal Knight to take such a long vacation and planning the wedding. "A honeymoon for you two would be perfect once the daemons are gone." He said, once the threat was gone they could relax and spend some time together to make up for the lost time. While it wasn't seen, it was obvious that Suna would be concerned about Hans when the time came. The daemons were strong, and Asmodeus, the foe his team was going up against wasn't someone that had to be taken lightly. Although, that pretty much applied to all three archdaemons. [break][break] Not long after they were all talking, he sensed someone else approaching them. It was the former Vice-Captain of the Crimson Lions and current Royal Knight Captain, Lydia Ravencrest. Of course, who didn't know about her? Even though Charles had never met her personally, he was fully aware of her. She was one of the strongest mages in the Kingdom. He was lazy, not ignorant or stupid. "Aye, that's me... Nice to finally get to meet you." He nodded in acknowledgment. It seemed like she was aware of who he was, but that wasn't a big deal. After that, he took a brief look around the place, they were plenty of things he could. Like swimming, maybe he could take a nap and then do something else? "Just curious, but what do you guys plan on doing?" The silver mage asked, out of curiosity. Before he considered to went off to take a nap, he wanted to know what the rest were up to. Of course, he was referring to everyone that was close to him and he knew. [break]
Vile's mind was amidst a dark and horrible dream. In that dream he relived the horros of his own hypocrisies. He reached out towards someone just outside a reach. It was a lady of somewhat average beauty though she was covered in blood. It took a moment for Vile to realise that rather than reaching for her he had actually stabbed her hand instead. He was surrounded by many different people all with wounds of varying magnitude. They were closing in around him and attempting to reach out with the woman from before swallowed up and into the crowd. He noticed moments later that a pool of blood began to spill out from the direction of where she once stood. There was a strange cacophony of strange but wholly human voices emanating from the people despite their deformities and lack of mouth movement. It would only be when they finally reached him that he would awake.
[break][break]
Vile awoke with his hand outstretched in from of him like he had been reaching out during the dream. Despite its vivid and distinct nature he had no recollection of it. The vagabond yawned and stretched out his entire frame realising immediately that due to the position of the sun, he had slept until early in to the afternoon. With his stretch complete Vile rose to his feet and swung his arms to either side of himself while keeping his feet firmly in place, this allowed him to stretch out his back muscles. He wondered where the commotion was coming from. He left the safety of the shade projected by the tree he slept under and headed towards the sounds. In just under a minute of walking he became fully aware that this was some sort of party.
[break][break]
The vagabond reached out of his cloak parting and pulled up the collar part. He felt like retreating from the entire social area but knew it was simply a good opportunity. He started his way down the hill towards the giant party no more enthusiastic than he was to wake up. His steps were slow and deliberate as every part of his being screamed to leave the area immediately. Rather than the fight or flight response it was just an extraordinary apprehension from having to deal with the average person's moronic behaviour. Vile sighed as he made it to the parting of grass to stand. With one final look back he stepped onto the sand to stride within the party's outskirts, slightly hunched, clearly disinterested with the event itself.
[break][break]
It was obvious everyone was enjoying themselves at this party... That was until Vile's stench would waft their way. His unwashed and dishevelled demeanour would leave many families, in particular the parents of parents would be especially way of children playing around or running past him. His menacing or otherwise repugnant aura was something always apparent due to his lack of commitment to social norms. If people wanted to be offended by his mere presence, that was entirely on them rather than any fault of his own. To judge another is a fundamental misstep of how to live a true and good life in his eyes. For this reason he would regularly flash a look of dissatisfaction and hostility to anyone looking at him in an even remotely distasteful manner. He walked through the crowd heading directly for the ocean itself, he was going to look for jelly fish to put back into the water in the off chance anyone might harm the beached beauties.
[break][break]
The vagabond paced up and down the water’s edge for around ten minutes until he was satisfied. Vile was happy to see that no jellyfish had beached recently and even more relieved to feel the waves and wet sand crashed beneath his feet. With each push and pull of the water’s movement he felt relief. The water was where he wished he could live, away from humans. He stared with a sense of yearning, wishing the world was as simple for humans as it was for the fish. Kill or be killed is the cleanest way of life, to cling to morality or a sense of purpose other than living was simply a carefully constructed deception of one’s instincts. Vile shook his head to move the thoughts out of his mind, dissatisfied he was dwelling on negatives rather than just living his own life. To rectify this issue he headed slightly away from the largest crowds and prepared for his own burial. Perhaps laying his head in the sand might bare a more fruitful experience?

It seemed as if everything was going as intended, more and more people were showing up to the beach but then it was hard to believe that they wouldn't, after all, it was a beautifully warm day so a perfect time for a dip in the cool ocean waters. She couldn't help but notice the man tending to his weapon and found it rather odd, her eyes going to Lydia before back to the man in question so they both could take note to keep an eye on him as there was no need for blades at a beach party. "He's going to ruin that weapon doing that here." she said with a hint of frustration "The salt in the air is going to damage it I fear." she never really did understand what when through people's heads when it came to weapons and how to tend to them.
The best she could guesses she could come up with was he couldn't afford to have someone tend to the blades care, but then, she knew most sword owners tended to want to care for their weapons themselves but that left the only other option. That this person was a new sword owner, that he really didn't know that being close to an ocean while doing maintenance on a weapon would only make it more brittle in the long run. It wasn't her job to give advice to people, she had a week off and she was going to enjoy every second of it with Lydia until something else pretty much forced them back into work mode. No one would want to feel the woman's wrath if their time together was ruined, she came off as dainty and placid off the clock but she was every bit the aggressor when annoyed.
It wasn't too long before the heir to the Vermilion walked over to talk a little, she chuckled and blushed a little as he took her hand and kissed it gently "You are so formal at the beach, I don't understand it." she said shaking her head "There's no need to be so formal here Taiyo." she said with amusement, she knew that the youth couldn't really read social cue's yet but it was something she was more than willing to help him learn while Lydia helped him with the combat orientated things. "It is a pleasure to meet you Lucia I hope you enjoy your time at the beach." she said with a warm smile as she held onto Lydia's arm daintily placing her head on her shoulder quite happily. Her eyes went to Lydia after a moment as Taiyo seemed to move on to speak to his cousin.
She looked at the group of four that Lydia was speaking of, she knew some things of them through reputation but not a lot more than that. "I've briefly met Hans and Suna at the Yule ball while I was dancing with Valo and I only know the other two really by the reports from Kikka." she said honestly, she knew Hans had been there too but she wanted to concentrate on the fact they had met even if it was for a short time. "Perhaps that would be for the best." she said with a nod as she allowed herself to be escorted by the pink-haired mage. Along their walk to the others, she did notice the floral mage who seemed more than a little out of her comfort zone "That girl looks petrified to be here." She said with a concerned tone but she knew the kind of family she came from and why being there would make her feel such a way.
She looked up hearing a more than familiar voice, that of Valo Stark. She chuckled and waved to him before pointing to herself than him before her lips indicating she wanted to talk to him but then put her finger over her lips to say she wanted it done quietly. She hoped he would understand and agree so they could have the conversation before everything started to kick off. When he ended up with the flower mage she looked so bashful she couldn't help but nudge Lydia "It's kind of sweet don't you think?" she would ask leaning in to kiss her cheek "How we use to be with each other when we were younger and more naive." she teased, she remembered all those embarrassing moments that lead them to their current relationship, in honesty, she wouldn't have given the up for anything.
Alyssa smiled as the silver mage spoke to Lydia as the pair approached "I intend to make rather large waves to allow people to surf if they so desire. I may as well put my magic to a fun use for a change." she chuckled, it was going to be terrible... funny... but terrible. The thing is she was sure everyone was going to enjoy themselves and that's really all that mattered to her and the others hosting this event if she guessed at the end of the day. "Lydia." she whispered subtly pointing out a person who seemed to stick out like a sore thumb, it was then the smell of rancid garbage afflicted her nose causing her to almost gag as she brought up her hand "Oh my what is that horrible stench." she wasn't meaning to be rude but it was beyond foul especially within this heat.
[attr="class","zavenreescroll"] The last time he went to the beach, it was with the Golden Dawn squad and he invited his best friend, a brother...Silas Vermillion to the whole ordeal and they surfed, while Zaven was alright at it, Silas excelled at it, and now since his death he had not given it a single thought to go back. That was until the word got out about three families sponsoring a little summer festival and people were encouraged to go to the beach. Even members of the Golden Dawn left to do this, and even still were members of the Blake family and estate workers that wanted holiday. Zaven gave in and finally with a chuckle he decided he was going to take a walk at the beach...remember some good times he had there. [break][break]
The Shadow of Dawn had grabbed a few things, and having left his grimoire back at the base for once he felt the need to step away from it all. So after finding some sunglasses and some comfortable shorts and a button up, the Golden Dawn captain looked like a regular old tourist now before stepping out and grabbing a broom to head out to the beach. Arriving sometime in the early afternoon he was met with the high sun, the rays of sunlight warmed his skin and Hraban was enjoying the warming rays as well. For once the Shadow of Dawn had decided to throw caution to the wind and just take a relaxing stroll down his own memory lane. If he met anyone he knew while out and about he would of course be happy to greet them, but this outing was for him and he was keeping it that way. ”Ok Hraban, first things first...time to find somewhere that sells shaved ice...I have a mean sweet tooth, and if I remember correctly Silas used to enjoy the damned things...though I don’t remember the flavors.” He gave a soft chuckle as he remembered flying all the way to the family estate to call him out for that specific outing.
"I don't think it's too much...It looks good on you."
Suna bit down on her lower lip, clear blue eyes cast down in bashfulness at Hans' words. "I'm glad you like it..." His compliment was small and simple, but still so sweet. Books may use a thousand words to describe this feeling she has, but it only took one split second look from her beloved to spell it all out for her. In his eyes, she could see new worlds that only they could share, places only they could discover about each other.
"There is nothing else I'd rather be doing than spending time with my lovely...fiancee out here in the sun."
Fiancee.
Ah, yes.
The term was still somewhat surreal to her, but the reality of it was slowly sinking in.
"What should we do first?"
"Hmm..." She looked around at their surroundings. She could see people playing beach games, buying ice cream and other cool treats, hot beauties sunning themselves or resting in the shades...wait, was that...
At first, she doubted that it was actually her, but Hans confirmed it for her.
"Verena!" She called out, waving excitedly above her head. Unlike Charles, whom she spied a moment later, the elf did not withhold her surprised look and tone. Her friend's attire was something unexpected and something that simply cannot go without a mention. If she thought what she was wearing was something revealing, that was nothing in comparison to what her dear friend had donned on. The summoner even had on a pair of sunglasses, which had thrown Suna off, and she had to take a double take at the gorgeous model in front of her.
"Goodness, Verena..." her eyes flicked up and down the tall girl's figure, which was beautifully up on display. She went in for a side hug and spoke in a low whisper only meant for the other female, "Such assets and you've been hiding it all this time?" She gave her friend a small nudge. "Such a shame it's hidden all the time...though I understand why we do it." She gave a light laugh. "You can seduce any of the guys here with just a hair flip...just don't do it to Hans, okay?" It was half in jest and half in truth—she did not yet know how possessive she could be of her man. Jealousy has not completely reared its ugly head yet, though there have already been enough instances that has made the elf extremely...testy.
"Is this a date of a sort before the wedding?"
"I...suppose you can say that."
"Just a little break from all the planning and such."
Her answer and Hans' answer were obviously different, and she gave him a pointed look. "A date sounds so official and formal though, no?" But regardless, as long as they had fun, he could call it whatever he wanted. Suna shrugged, letting it go, and turned back to her friend.
"So, what's the occasion here, hmmm?" She pulled back slightly and studied her friend again briefly, taking her in. "Are you...wait, don't tell me..." Her eyebrow shot up and off her head. Her eyes now scanned all around them, as if searching for something...or someone. "Who is it, hmm? Who are you trying to impress?" This was all said in a low tone, so the two male mages would not have heard it...hopefully. She had a million questions, but this would not be a good time to interrogate her friend. "Lucky guy, whoever he is. Are you free tomorrow? We need to talk." She shook a finger at the other woman in mock severity, but then laughed and hugged her again.
"And hey Charles," She said, after jumping into conclusions on Verena's case and finally properly greeting the silver mage. "How is your training coming along? I hope all has been going well!" She remembered the last time they met, when the young man just came back from his personal training away from the kingdom.
"Hopefully, she won't rope us into another fishing contest..."
"Hey!" She gave Hans a little shove on his arm and gave him a mock frown. "I most definitely did not ask to fight krakkens! It was supposed to be just a nice little boat ride!" Of course, this was all said in lighthearted fun. The sea adventure they had the last time they were in Raque was completely unplanned, but it had also been quite a learning experience of which she was grateful for.
"A honeymoon for you two would be perfect once the daemons are gone."
This was from Charles. It was a perfectly factual statement, so why did it make her blush like a little schoolgirl? Perhaps she really was still riding high on the wings of love. Or perhaps it was just the mention of a honeymoon. "Hans said he wanted to be in charge of the honeymoon, that he's going to surprise me, so I have no idea what's cooking in that brain of his." Well, perhaps she has an inkling. Heavens know what actually goes on when the couple is alone. But now was obviously not the time for any of that.
Then they were joined by another group of people, some of whom she recognized, and some whom she did not. "Lydia! I didn't know you were coming!" The first thing Suna noticed was the scar on her mentor's side. Her eyes widened. Was that new? It looked new. She looked at the glass mage, eyes silently asking what happened. But she could ask about the details another time, as this was not a proper time to be asking about scars and injuries and such. Then Lydia was introducing the beautiful woman next to her, whom Suna smiled in greeting. Ah yes, they had been introduced at the ball, albeit briefly. She also dipped her head briefly at the others whom she was not familiar with.
The blue-haired elf had also spied the pretty mage Hinota, who did not seem alone, as indicated by her companion and the tell-tale shout from the fire mage Valo. Of course the latter would be late and so loud about it, too. She smiled softly as she watched the two interact with each other. They were too far for any of their conversation to be picked up, but from the looks of it, the elf was glad to see that he might have just found that special somebody in his life.
But it was during this time that they were momentarily distracted by an incoming beach ball, and then Hans pecked her on the cheek and muttered something about being right back. "Hans?" No explanations. Strange. Suna turned back to the group around her and shrugged her shoulders helplessly. "Apologies, but I'll also be right back. Maybe he forgot something important." And with that, she bowed slightly to those in the group and turned to find Hans.
He had vanished. Was it towards the vendors? She turned towards that direction, but there were too many people. Then she spied a figure (Griswold) watching from a sand dune. It looked like he was watching over everyone. Could he have possibly seen where the dark mage has gone? It would not hurt to ask.
"Hello," she approached the stranger, a little shy. "Apologies for bothering you, but did you see a man rushing by just now? Someone wearing blue trunks and scars all around his body?" Then she saw him. "There he is! Sorry to disturb you, sir!" And rushed down before she could lose sight of him again.
"Hans! What are you doing?" Then she saw what he was about to buy and placed a gentle hand on his arm to dissuade him. "Ah, we don't need to get all that to have fun. Just being able to spend time with you is enough." She beamed up at him. "But I won't mind getting something to eat, though...that shaved ice over there looks nice and cold. Shall we?" Assuming the mercenary would follow, the duo would go over to that stand and order one with mangoes and other tropical fruits.
While they were sitting at a nearby spot, Suna was also watching the people coming in and out, and her eyes fell on a dark-haired man (Zaven Blake✧). "Hey, isn't that the Golden Dawn captain over there?" She nudged the mercenary and motioned towards the said person. "Wow, it seems like everyone is here today, even all the squad leaders. Looks like they are all enjoying their day off..."
As for whatever Hans decided to lead her to do, Suna would follow accordingly. As long as she could be around him, that was enough to make her day. Her heart was full, and she had no regrets coming out today. To have a beautiful day filled with sunshine and friends and her love—what more could one ask for?

[attr="class","bsbody"]“This will be THE day.” Alva was walking carelessly though the streets checking out every shop he passed. Earlier today he was notified that there would be some sort of gathering on a beach and normally this wouldn’t interest him that much. However, the mention of possible surfing made him excited that he would even go out of his comfort zone and be shirtless in front of a bunch of people. First things first, Alva didn’t have anything to swim in, he left his only swimming shorts back at his parent´s place. This gave him excuse to buy some new things which he always liked. The goal was simple, getting blue swimming shorts and heading straight to the beach. [break][break] If it only were that simple, one hour later Alva found himself sitting on some bench in a part of the town he didn’t even know. Next to him were couple of shopping bags, however he looked a little desperate and he was slurping some sort of frozen flavored ice from a cup. “Well I forgot to buy the shorts, but I certainly do have a lot of other stuff.” It was probably the ice causing him brain freeze, as he started pulling out all the things he just got. Why would he buy these weird bracelets he didn’t even like? It wasn’t that hard to convince Alva to buy anything and therefore the good willed boy was often just a target for merchants to convince him to get things he doesn’t really need. “No time for regrets, let´s get those shorts and head to the beach, I wonder who else will be there!” It was funny and suspicious how fast could his mood be lifted up, as he stood up and headed towards some shop where they sold a wide variety of swimming accessories. The choosing process was really simple, as he picked the first blue swimming shorts he saw and directly went to pay for them. “Thank you good sir and have a nice day!” He shouted as he was already running away from the shop headed towards the beach. In the middle of this run, Alva suddenly stopped in a sudden realization that something was missing. “Oh, all those bags with things I bought…” He started thinking, with his finger on his lips, debating whether to return and find the missing bags or no. “Oh well, I hope someone will find them useful!” His excitement for the beach was bigger than the need to retrieve things he didn’t really want. [break][break] Once arriving to the wonderful beach, Alva found himself a place to change his clothes and came out with his sky-blue shorts. It was obvious that he wasn’t feeling very conscious about his body as he tried to position his hands so that his chest wouldn’t be very visible. He was very slim with no visible muscles and that was probably bothering him, but at the same time his skin was so pale that the light swim shorts, his skin and his hair were almost matching in color making him look like a skinny-fat ghost. Once he got used to being exposed more than usual, young mage took a closer look on the situation that was happening on a beach. There were a lot of people, not all of them he knew, but he saw a group of people where Lydia from his squad was along with the captain of Blue Roses. That seemed like a right direction to go. Once he approached them, waved his hand and with a great smile on his face continued. “Hello everyone, what a wonderful day to be on beach!” His excitement was a little over the top, he started to scan the people and then he continued. “You all look great, but I heard there was some surfing involved?” He sounded really curious, that he even forgot to introduce himself given the fact that he was unknown to some of the people and also ignored the uncanny smell that was comming from god knows where.
[attr="class","bsbody"]TLDR: After arrival on the beach headed towards to group where Alyssa and Lydia were. Interacted in the last paragraph.

[attr="class","julienglass2scroll"] Sol walked onto the beach and blinked at the harshness of the sun, he was in a pair of Geta Sandals with no socks and a pair of red swim trunks with a very light red kimono shirt on.” its been a while since I have been to the beach” he mutterd to himself as he walked out and thru the sand towards where the group was gathering. Finding a good spot he took off his geta and glanced around, he saw quite a few knights here along with a few familer faces. He decided to approach and visit with them for a while since he planned on going to the ball at the royal palace later on but for now this was just a time for him to unwind and relax. While he spotted Verena and Griswold the latter much to his annoyance he also saw Hinota and Valo and he smiled softly as he walked over to them.”Valo you seem to be enjoying the summer heat, im still a bit stunned we are doing this considering what is coming in the future” he said being a bit serious near the end but then he gained a small smile. [break][break] “at least we get to enjoy moments like this before the battles to come its a bit comforting I suppose” he added before he bowed a bit to Hinota.”Hinota San you look lovely today I hope the suns not to much for you” he said to her glancing up at the sky after he spoke, he knew that for those with fair skin the sun could give a wicked sunburn and he hoped that neither himself nor anyone here ended up with one. He could only wonder how the future would be if things went south but he quickly shook his head of such thoughts since it wasnt the time or the place to think such things. [break][break]

COMBAT SUMMARY
[BREAK]
[attr="class","julienglass2scroll2"] MANA: 16 mana used [break][break] TL;DR
For all that it was worth, his recon of the area had been completed, though it provided him with little to no new leads, none worth chasing at least. Though crowded at this point in time, he could imagine what the place looked like once the sun had gone down and all of the beachgoers had ventured back into town. At a time like that, this place was as good a location as any from which to go about kidnapping people and dragging them along the sand. Due to the tides coming in and heading out from time to time, come morning, all signs of struggle would have long since been devoured by the ocean waters, leaving the sands of the beach as a blank canvas in their wake. The fact that this happen was known to all that had ever been to a beach before, so the only thing he really managed to learn from that was that the culprits were from a place that had a beach too.
The first thing this brought up in his head was the idea that the people doing this might be pirates, picking up some drunk stragglers in the middle of the night to be sold elsewhere in the world. While it sounded barbaric, there were plenty of countries of various sizes where owning slaves was still supposedly a common practice. That said, his knowledge did not stretch far enough outside the borders of clover to know which those might be. Truth be told, he didn’t even know there were so many foreign countries to begin with when Hania swung several of them in his direction during their last actual conversation. So to think that there were places that would pay quite well to have some foreign slaves wasn’t too out there. With the festivities in town, it wasn’t all that strange for people to be stumbling about in an intoxicated state, or for unsupervised children to be running around and getting themselves into trouble.
And at the end of the day, all it took for something truly bad to happen was for someone to be in the right place at the wrong time, or at the wrong place at the right time, however one might wish to word it. Now, the reality was that Griswold knew very well that there wasn’t going to be anything he would find here that would really be of any aid to his cause, though coming to a place like this to just clear his head, take in some ocean air and watch how a bunch of people from very different walks of life came together to enjoy their time here did give him some additional insights that he wouldn’t have gotten by just sticking around in Hapshass. Being “disturbed” only once during his time on the beach by a lady who wished to know where someone was, Griswold could have actually helped with that, as he had been scouting the place out long enough to know where everyone was and who they were conversing with.
But seeing as how she had already managed to locate her query on her own, Griswold just nodded at her as she went on her way to speak to the man. But judging by how only one person had actually bothered to talk to him, he imagined most of the people here knew that he was not actually here to have fun, which was probably why he was not wearing any clothes fit for a visit to the beach. Even those that actually knew him to some degree knew better than to come up to him for a conversation, and that much was something he could appreciate. For whatever it was worth, these people were all in the middle of some kind of vacation, one he did not wish to disturb, even though he did not actually have that luxury himself. He had far greater things to prepare for that were looming on the horizon, which was why he wished to make sure these missing people were accounted for before the moment came where he wouldn’t be able to handle it himself.
To say that he did not trust anyone else to see to it was somewhat mean, though it summarized what his intentions quite well. After all, if others could take care of the issue, why were people still going missing with all of these magic knights around. Rising to his feet, he had seen enough to know where to start looking for the missing people of Hapshass, even though he was somewhat disappointed at the lack of any physical evidence being around to help him out. Even though he had already established why, it still bugged him. Putting his shirt back on before grabbing the handle of his blade and tugging it out of the sand, it was time for him to head back out and wait for the day to come to an end. It was going to be impossible for him to go searching for any leads or aiming to catch somebody in the act on a crowded beach, as no actual attempts at kidnapping would happen in broad daylight.
Taking his blade with him and venturing away from the beach, he began playing the waiting game, hoping that whatever he sought would present itself sooner rather than later. But judging by his kind of luck, he was likely going to have to linger for quite some time before coming across anything worth investigating.

Charles chimed when she had admitted it was her first time coming to the beach. "Aha... yes, I suppose so..." she said, nervously wrapping one arm around the other. "It's still strange though-"[break][break]
"Verena!"[break][break]
The heiress to the Reinsberg name recognized that voice. She'd recognize it anywhere. Of course, it was Suna. She had already seen her. And though it was beyond embarrassing for anyone to see her that she recognized in this state, if she had to pick, it was at least nice that her friend was here. Though, she supposed that was just as embarrassing...[break][break]
Suna's teasing, to the Summoner at least, was relentless. Her cheeks immediately lit up in embarrassment, immediately moving to cover herself up. Her head turned away. "T-That's because of one of Satori's clansmen... I didn't have time to buy a swimsuit. I couldn't find one that I felt comfortable in, so shopping on my own was a fruitless endeavor... and I was sent this... Lydia's my Captain as far as the Royal Knights are concerned, so I thought I should show up here in a timely manner..." she confessed.[break][break]
Verena weakly protested Suna's claims. "Ah, no, no! I wouldn't ever! You two are too cute together. I'm very happy for you. Both of you..." she said, her tone very hushed.[break][break]
Noticeably, however, she didn't even disagree with Suna's teasing words. Though one could simply chalk that up to her slight panic with Suna's joke about Hans, for one whose self-esteem was normally as low as Verena's, it was strange that she didn't try to downplay it.[break][break]
Suna's teasing didn't end there, however. She seemed to think there was some sort of person she was trying to impress. "E-Eh? No, it's nothing like that. It's just my bad luck from not being able to decide in time..." she said, her flushed cheeks keeping that same level of red as she stared at the ground.[break][break]
"but uhm, unfortunately, no. I'm to report to Carrion after the festivities today for more training. Due to... reasons, I'm unfortunately lacking in some other areas of practical training, so I'm having to play catchup. I'm glad we got to run into one another though," she said, trying to flash a smile towards Suna while trying to ensure nothing else was being flashed.[break][break]
Verena nodded her head to the Dark mage, though sharing some surprise that Hans had actually met Satori before. "Mhm. Before the Royal Knight exams, Satori was training me. I consider him a dear friend and a mentor," she explained. "He's a very wise man despite appearances. It's a shame my family detests him. They'd learn much from him..."[break][break]
It was sad. Her family's only real strength was their academic skillset and connections. They weren't accomplished researchers or geniuses in any field. But the Reinsberg could at least boast that they were very quick learners, not that it mattered much when they chose not to learn the things that mattered most in these tumultuous times.[break][break]
Hans mentioned his birthday was coming up as well, causing her some surprise. It was a very happy coincidence in her eyes. Maybe she could help throw him a celebration. She would prefer not to celebrate her own birthday. Even with this potion, it was still just a reminder that she was another year closer to death. It was an uncomfortable thing to think about, so she dropped it.[break][break]
Lydia showed up, and all four seemed to immediately stand to attention. However, Verena instinctively conjured up a golem to hide behind. "U-Uhm... it's nice to see you, Captain. " she said as she looked towards Lydia from behind her golem. "I apologize. I know it's not the most appropriate... I couldn't decide on a swimsuit myself, so one was given to me while I was in Ryuutei. I didn't realize its proportions weren't... right.. till it was too late."[break][break]
Suna and Hans went running off, causing Verena to frown. She was glad they were happy. But she wished she could have spent just a bit more time with them...

[attr="class","silasreescroll"]Taiyo stood by Alyssa as she told him that he didn’t need to be so formal. This made Lucia chuckle and shake her head. She taught the boy most of what he knew about politics but she could see that she still had a lot to teach him. He was still learning and it was commendable that he would devote so much time and energy in learning all that he could about nobles and how to greet them. That was what impressed the Spatial mage. Even so, he needed to learn when and where these things would come into play. Oh, I.. I didn’t know that I didn’t have to be so formal. He blushed slightly out of embarrassment but even so he put a bright smile on his face. When Alyssa addressed Lucia, she smiled as well. “Thank you. It’s a pleasure to officially meet you. Hopefully we will meet again if I ever escort Taiyo somewhere that you are.” Taiyo grinned a bit. I hope you enjoy the rest of the time spent here Alyssa. After being excused and walking around, Taiyo thought about the nice relaxing breeze that welcomed him and Lucia. Something that seemed so insignificant yet if it weren’t there people would be miserable due to how humid and hot and sweaty they’d be. What an amazing thing. As he looked up in the sky, he noticed the clouds moving rather slowly, it was bright out and there was no sign of rain anywhere, the sun showering him which made him smile. While others may not like the heat, he surely did and that was what was so great for him.

After approaching Hinota and greeting her, she addressed him as Lord Vermillion, something she had stated that she would continue to do as it made her more comfortable than being informal with him. It was how she was and Taiyo had to accept that. It was still a bit weird for him since they were the same age and both Magic Knights together. Even so, he smiled. She bowed at him slightly, which made his eyebrows rise in confusion. He was just told that he didn’t need to be so formal at such an event yet Hinota was being just as formal as he was. There is no need to be so formal with me, Hinota. I’m pretty sure even with me saying this you will still address me as Lord even though I’d prefer otherwise. That much is fine but you surely don’t need to bow. We are equals. We are both Magic Knights defending the Kingdom of Clover. So please, no more bowing. He folded his arms and looked at her as she turned her back to him. Was she embarrassed or something? She started stammering as she spoke about her not insulting him by turning away. He didn’t think as much due to how she acted around him the few times they interacted. She gave her reason and Taiyo understood it by how she was dressed.

As the conversation went on, he nodded. She had stated that she had not long arrived with her handmaiden Luli, which she didn’t enjoy much but the warmth was nice. He paid attention to her as she spoke about her stressing over things out of her control, which was understandable. Taiyo could relate to that in some instances. I understand that notion of stressing over things out of our control. Even so, we have to try our best to let things run its course. When she mentioned the fact the Wizard King had requested her to become a Royal Knight. He was working hard each day but he wasn’t at the level to be a Royal Knight. Who knew what the future held. If he kept growing, maybe he too could become one as well. Congratulations. I hope that the experience protecting the Kingdom on that level is great. While you guys are out there, I will do my best to keep the Kingdom safe from the Magic Knight side of things. When she spoke of her boyfriend and the first date, the Vermillion cub smiled. He didn’t know much about relationships since he’d never been in any but he found it cute that her boyfriend was seeking her father’s approval before taking her out on their first date and preparing for betrothal. I’m guessing that your boyfriend is Valo.
[break][break]
She changed the topic to her estate, having heard that Taiyo visited it. I did. The squad and I did. I had a great training session there. Wait, Ozma lives there, are you family to Ozma? He wondered since he didn’t have any knowledge about that. It would be crazy cool if they were related closely. She didn’t exactly look similar but sometimes looks could be deceiving. Either way, he listened to her response. Breaking him slightly away from his focus was Valo who came over and greeted her and Luli. He was on a dragon golem which was in all accounts as cool. His fire spirit apologized to her for being late. Akira chuckled and waved. Hey Valo, nice to see you again. Hope you’ve been keeping well. After a little while, Lucia returned to Taiyo. Hinota, Valo, Luli, Valo and … uh… Agneya, was it? Anyway, this is Lucia Mavis. She works for my family and is my friend. Lucia waved as she smiled. ”Nice to meet you guys.”
[break][break]
After chatting with Hinota and Valo, Taiyo and Lucia excused themselves to meet up with Alva who had appeared while Taiyo was chatting. He walked right up to the explosive water mage and grinned. Alva Vermillion, always a pleasure to see you around. Looks like you made it after all and what’s this about surfing? Lucia stood behind Taiyo and politely waved at Alva. ”Good to see you again, Sir Vermillion.” As a member of the Vermillion family which Lucia served, she referred to them formally unless she was told otherwise like when Taiyo told her to call him by his first name. Either way, she was always happy to be around House Vermillion which was one of the reasons she chose to stay in their service instead of becoming a Magic Knight. It also meant that she could personally tend to Taiyo and help him get to the place he needed to be.

After a great day at the beach, it was time to head home. Lucia opened a portal back to the Vermillion Estate where she and Taiyo stepped through. They bid each other farewell and spent the rest of the evening relaxing. Taiyo thought of the enjoyable experience of being in the sun at the beach. It was a rare experience for the young Crimson Lion Vermillion cub and that made it special. He was also glad that he could share the experience with his close friend, Lucia. Even though she was technically his servant, he viewed her as family and enjoyed taking her to these events. Maybe it was Hania changing his mindset on how he should view things that made him make the move to stop treating the people serving him like they were just that. Maybe it was the way he felt about thinking of everyone as equal. Regardless of what it was, this was who he was becoming and he liked that. He still had a long way to go when it came to understanding people but that was what life was all about. Maybe he’d eventually understand enough to form his own relationship like Hinota did. Maybe he’d find love somewhere out there in the stars. Time would tell.
