In what had felt as though it were a strange twist of fates, young Thaddeus Wilhelm had found himself within the Castle Town of Kikka. The town itself had been rather nice overall, considering the fact that it had bordered the Noble Region and had been close enough to see the Royal Palace, but Thaddeus hadn't come here for sightseeing. No, he had been on his way to the town of Nairn. Nairn had been the location that he had been assigned to as a Deacon and would likely become the central hub of most of his life moving forward. It was a place that was going to hold great importance for him, all things considered. Even with that being said though, the walk itself to Nairn had been taking quite a bit of time! If he had been capable of acquiring a carriage of sorts or even some kind of mule perhaps, this trip would have been so much easier. Unfortunately Thaddeus didn't have this insight when he had completed his training and as such, he was going to have to get over it.
It wasn't until Thaddeus had reached the outskirts of Kikka that he had managed to have some reason to stop his little trek. As he had been passing through the final dredges of the outskirts, Thaddeus had come upon what appeared to be a struggling old man! The man had seemed to be struggling to make it back home, due to some back issues, and hadn't really appeared to be in the best shape. It was likely due to his old age that he had been struggling so much but it had also been possible that this man had hurt himself in his youth. Regardless of the reason that this gentleman had been struggling, Thaddeus couldn't simply stand by and watch the old man struggle. That is why he had decided to go out of his way to escort the old man back home and to safety.
As the duo had traversed back to the old mans lodging, the elderly gentleman would explain the reasons as to why he had been out and about earlier. Apparently this old man had been some kind of broom-maker? It was an interesting craft to say in the least, and one that Thaddeus had known quite a bit about. Having been a dwarf himself, crafting was simply apart of his arsenal as well. To see a fellow craftsman struggling to gather the precious materials needed for their trade had left a bad taste in Thaddeus' mouth. Much like before, Thaddeus had decided to go ahead and assist the old man in whatever efforts he had been trying to put forth. From the sounds of it, Thaddeus was going to need to locate and gather four pieces of magically blessed wood. This shouldn't be too hard, all things considered, but one never knows what they might come upon within the forest. As long as he had played it safe though and had made sure to make good use of his spells, things would likely pan out just fine though. At least, that's what he had hoped to be the case.

Once the broom-maker had explained to him the type of wood that he was going to need to search for, and the physical characteristics of said magically blessed wood, Thaddeus would head on out to the forested area surrounding Kikka. This task wasn't going to be the easiest task in the world but with enough time and patience, Thaddeus was sure that he would overcome it. For now he was just going to need to focus on tracking down a particular type of wood. This task would have been much easier if he had access to the creation of scout golems but his magic hadn't progressed that far as of yet. That being said, he was going to have to go about it the normal and almost exhaustive way.
Over the course of the next couple of hours, Thaddeus would find himself meandering about throughout the forested area, his eyes peeled for any tree that had contained the magically blessed wood that he had been searching for. One of the characteristics of said trees was that there would be a soft glow of mana emitting from the trees themselves. The simplest way to go about finding such a tree would have been for him to use some kind of sensory magic, but alas, he hadn't had access to any such magics at this time. With that being the case, he was going to need to search for other characteristics of such trees. The wood itself would likely have stood out due to its thicker than average nature, and of course the leaves that would encompass such trees would have been thick with foliage. The telltale signs weren't that hard to find but how had he intended to go about discovering them? Well, it's quite simple really.
Rather than struggle to push on throughout the entirety of the forested area, Thaddeus had decided that his best bet would be to gain a better vantage point. Without the help of a scout golem, he was going to need to rely on his own eyes to find what he had needed. This is why Thaddeus had begun to climb up to the top of the tallest trees that he could find. Every now and then he had almost slipped and put an end to his journey, but with his Wilhelm tenacity, the young Deacon had managed to continue on until he had found his way to the top of one of the highest trees around. Once he had found his way to the top, Thaddeus had a much easier time pinpointing the directions of the magically blessed trees that he had been searching for.
After having made his way back down from the top of said tree, Thaddeus had followed the directions that he had believed the wood to be located at. It had taken about another fifteen minutes of so but he had eventually made his way to the proper location. What had stood before him had been an immaculate beauty of a tree whose wood had been gorged with mana. This very tree would have to suffice for the purposes intended.
Not quite sure as to how else to really go about obtaining the wood from this tree in a respectable manner, Thaddeus would take a moment to ponder the best way to go about it. If he had some sort of axe or clearcutting materials than it would have been a breeze but he didn't quite have access to those kinds of things at the moment. If only he had asked the broom-maker for some tools when he had been back with them earlier. Not having many other options, Thaddeus had decided to go about casting a spell and just taking most of the tree back with him.
A short prayer had been given to the tree and to the gnome as he had prepared to take the tree back with him. He didn't wish to respect the land any further than he had been about to, so this had felt as though it were something that he should do. Once that had been completed, Thaddeus would raise his right hand in a dramatic fashion while saying the words, "Oread!" and would allow for his mana to flow forth from his hand and into the ground. He would than clutch his right hand whilst placing his thumb above the ring finger. Upon taking such actions, the carbon matter that had surrounded the outer layer of the ring would begin to crack and his mana would begin to flow through the ring as well. Suddenly ten golems made from carbon matter would rip through the ground surrounding the mana engorged tree. Thaddeus would dictate for them to work together to haul the tree out of the ground itself.
Although it had taken the combined strength of all ten carbon matter golems, the tree and its roots had come clean out of the ground. The sight itself was... horrid. Thaddeus had immediately wished that he had other ways to try and take the required bits of the tree with him but he just hadn't had the insight of how to go about doing so without further harming the tree. At least with this he would be able to move the tree closer to the broom-maker.
With the tree now in tow, Thaddeus would begin to make his way back towards the broom-makers home. Each time that his spells had begun to come undone, he would recast them and allow for the golems to keep the tree as safe as they could. Eventually they would find themselves outside of the broom-makers home. The look on the old mans face had shown how amazed, yet worried, the elderly gentleman had been about the fact that Thaddeus had brought back an entire tree. It wasn't quite the way that either of them had planned for this event to go but... it was too late to go back and change things now. That said, Thaddeus would order his golems to place the tree into the ground outside of the broom-makers home and would than allow for them to dissolve back into their basic element. Thaddeus would than work together with the old man to remove the required pieces of wood. After all had been said and done, the old man would thank Thaddeus and provide him with a broom as a reward. Thaddeus had tried to say that he hadn't needed a reward but the old man wouldn't take no for an answer. Accepting the reward that had been bestowed upon him, Thaddeus would uncomfortably head back on his way. In the future he would be better prepared for these kinds of situations.. He couldn't disrespect the land any further.
