In this world, Magic is Everything. All people, all races, are granted with the power to perform mystical and magical feats via grimories, mystical tomes granted to each and every child on their 15th birthday. Those blessed by the mana can have their names written down in legend.

[break] The noble region is where the rich and powerful are known to reside and so is the safest place in the entire kingdom, especially with the squads of the Golden Dawn and Crimson Lion having their headquarters within the Royal Capital. With nobility there comes hunting, some see this as a sport while others only partake when there is a reason for it. Every year around yuletide the mana beasts that keep the herds to a healthy level go into hibernation and so the wildlife within the royal forest swells to the point that there wouldn't be enough food for the entire herd and so they become sickly and pass due to starvation. [break][break] It is due to this that the Crimson Lions came up with an annual hunt where they welcome everyone to take part. This hunt wasn't to completely erase herds but to reduce the numbers of overpopulated ones so that they could survive the winter. A map was given to everyone who wished to take part in this part of the festivities so they would know where they could hunt. On this map, there were pictures of the overpopulated animals and where they were located, when the numbers were reduced to a healthy number then the animal would vanish from that section of the map. Anyone known to hunt a healthy herd would be subjugated to a trip to Balgon prison and a heavy fine. [break][break] Once the hunt was finished then they would be taken to the largest square in the Royal Capital where a grand feast would be held. Even if you didn't take part in the hunt you were welcome to take part in the festivities to have your fill and make merry with those around. Anything that would be left would be sent to the church to help those in need and the hides and other materials would be offered to those who hunted first before other crafters. The other crafters would have to pay for the hides and other materials but at a reduced cost with all proceeds again going to the church to help those in need. Anything that couldn't be used would be returned to the earth to help the forest with nourishment so that the wildlife could continue on. [break][break] [break][break] We have suffered much in these perilous times. Lost many of those we love. But now is a time to be joyous and forget your woes, if only for a moment. Ardere paused as he addressed the looming crowd of warriors and knights who gathered for this fortuitous hunt and feast. The Hunt is a longstanding tradition that dates back long before the Clover Kingdom stood tall in this world. So take pride in that. We protect the lives of the people who live here, but the ecosystem is equally important. Without the animals that provide us food and materials, we would be lost. There is a give and take between humans and the animal kingdom. Take too much and there will be a steep punishment. But I have faith in you all. So enjoy yourselves. Then come back and take part in our feast. I wish you the best of luck. 'Tis the season to be grateful for what we have and what we will accomplish. The Crimson Lion Captain coughed for a moment as he bled through his bandages. None would be able to see it as his uniform covered said wrappings, but he could certainly feel the pain. While he was no hunter, he understood the importance of these annual celebrations. Even he wished he could forget his pain occasionally. So he wished them all luck, for tonight was a good night. Leonora folded her arms standing at the gathering place of the hunt. She was actually interested in an event for once. They were hunting for the sake of keeping a stable population while creatures like the Mana beasts were hibernating. Plus she got to just enjoy herself in one of her favorite past times of hunting and doing as she wished. She just wished she didn't have to get dressed up for the winter. Sure she has her magic and the natural warmth nearly all vermillion have. However, she felt it was only proper to get dressed for the season and the occasion. She had on a fur lined cloak under her mantle along with a deep purple shirt and black pants with some brown fur lined snow boots and black gloves. Her red hair was tied back in a ponytail as her eyes glowed dimely in eagerness to get going into the hunt [break][break]
Ozma stretched his limbs a bit as he approached the gathering place for the hunt that his squad was hosting, the man was his normal western clothing that he was garbed in when he was out and about along with his crimson lion mantle around his shoulders and his Jian at his side, while he was normally not one for hunting since he grew up as a noble the paint mage did know what to do if he absolutely had to hunt in order to survive as it had been a part of training, glancing around he saw multiple people had gathered including many from his own squad, his partner in crime Iris was perched on his shoulder as usual her colorful wings displaying cooler colors due to the time of the year but she seemed to have a content look on her face as they had stopped and waited for Ardere to give his speech, 'so think the feast will be any good this year ozma' Iris asked thru the link while Ozma glanced at her and shrugged slightly. 'it all depends on how many participate and what all is caught I must admit I have missed the taste of wild game it is good when done right' he replied back
glancing around while ard gave his speech Ozma noticed one of the new recruits in crimson lions a young red haired woman and if he was correct she was a member of the Vermillion family but since all he had to go on was rumors he wasnt completely sure, still the man wasnt to worried he was sure he would end up interacting with her soon enough even if it was tough due to him being mute so for now he would just relax and enjoy the meet up before they went out to hunt.
[attr="class","posiescroll"] It was a crazy time for Taiyo. He had to part ways with Amaya in order for them both to grow up. He could see that he was holding her back and maybe she was holding him back too. There was another reason as well, one he didn’t like to talk about. It was great that they both decided that the major details about it were kept between only them. Certain people would know they weren’t together anymore but to others it would be only merely a rumor. Leona knew some of it but not everything. What Taiyo told her was to make sure that she understood that they didn’t end on horrible terms but more friendly ones. [break][break] Seeing that he no longer had the comfort of hanging out with his best friend, he had to keep busy. With the Crimson Lions hosting an event, Taiyo knew he was going to participate in it. He was excited all about it. Leona was going as well. It was a hunt and feast after all. Taiyo was excited to be a part of the hunt. He would get to put his energy into something productive. [break][break] On the day of the feast, Taiyo showed up ready to go hunting with his sister and anyone else who wanted to hunt with his group. The first thing was his captain, Captain Ardere Kasai of the Crimson Lions, remarks. The man spoke of the hardships they would have endured and the people they would have lost. With that stated, he then asked everyone gathered to forget about their troubles even if it was momentarily as it was a time to enjoy and be joyful. After a pause, Ard spoke again. He started speaking of the hunt being a tradition that went back before Clover was standing tall. They were a part of the long legacy of the ancestors who first did the hunt. The man spoke of the duty of the magic knights, protecting the lives of the people who resided in the Clover Kingdom, and he went a step further to speak of the ecosystem as it was just as important as everyone else. He continued on the ecosystem, speaking about the animals and how they provided food and without them, the people would be lost. The true reason for the hunt was known to those there. It was to keep the numbers of the animal kingdom regulated to prevent overpopulation. This was why it was important to not only have the hunt but to also have systems in place to prevent overzealous people from going overboard. With all of that said, the captain spoke of the feast that came after the hunt before wishing everyone good luck. [break][break] After giving his closing statement, Taiyo turned his attention to those around him. First, Leona stood right by his side in as much clothes as he had on; very little to be precise. Well, she was technically still wearing more than her brother since she wore her usual get up. She didn’t have to worry much about the cold for three reasons. Reason one: She was a fire mage. Reason Two: She was a Vermillion. And Reason Three: Her brother, Taiyo, was going to be close the entire time. Aside from Leona, their cousin, Leonora, was there as well. She was clothed differently from the siblings. While they dressed rather light, she was covered with warmer clothes that contained fur. Both Taiyo and Leona could tell by her stance that she was eager to get into the hunt. [break][break] There was someone else Taiyo recognized. It was Ozma Yuiee. He had met Ozma back on the Yuiee estate when the Crimson Lions held their training there. Well, it was possible that he knew the other man before that but it was when they were formally acquainted. From what Taiyo remembered, Ozma was mute and had a spirit that said what he wanted. Looks like Ozma and his spirit are in attendance. Haven’t seen them around very recently. Maybe I should go over and say hi sometime. [break][break] Taiyo noticed how many Crimson Lions showed up which brought a smile to his face. There were probably many others from the other squads as well but he recognized that those he saw in Crimson Lion mantles were great in number. It could also be due to the fact that they were hosting the event. Having made up his mind, he decided to approach Ozma. He walked briskly over to the mute male. ”Hey Ozma; Iris. It’s nice to see you again. How have you been?” [break][break] While Taiyo was speaking with Ozma, Leona walked up to Leonora and stood in front of her. “Those eyes look hungry for the hunt. If I didn’t know any better, I’d call you a lioness ready to pounce. Well, I guess you’re a bird ready to swoop down and get her worms.”

Emily didn’t see an issue with attending the event held by the Crimson Lions. After all, why wouldn’t she support the squad that she had been a part of for basically the entirety of her journey as a Magic Knight. The world had been turned on its head, and reality shattered, but even so, the love that she had for the memories of her time in the squad never vanished from her mind. Thankfully, for all the loss she was forced to endure, she was glad that the Captain managed to stay alive. He was a resilient man. The woman had respected him ever since she first joined the squad all those years ago. Everything about him had been astonishing to watch. His strength, his passion, and just his leadership in general. It made her realize just how lucky she had been to be on his squad, and even serve as his Vice Captain for some time. [break][break] However, old memories aside, today the group had been gathered for a more festive goal. It was a hunt. They were going to be doing their part to maintain balance within the ecosystem by hunting some of the world’s beasts. The hunt would then be followed by a giant feast. It was a festival… an overall great time. At first, the redhead had been rather adverse to the thought of attending, but the way she saw it, she wanted to experience just a bit of nostalgia before plunging herself straight into danger once more. The Daemon were no ordinary threat, and in the event that something were to happen to her, she wanted to be able to say that she had found happiness at least once ever since the Shattering. [break][break] Aside from trying to make a memory, she was still curious in seeing the younger generation of mages. Back when she was younger, she hadn’t realized that her mentors had been observing her and her generation, silently judging and evaluating, hoping that they would grow up to be able to take care of the kingdom the same way they had done during their time. Now that she found herself in the same position, she understood their curiosity all too well. What were the younger mages like? What did the future of the Clover Kingdom look like? There was only one way for her to know. [break][break] Making her way into the group, Emily’s attention was drawn towards a familiar loudmouth. “Worms? I’d hope not. If you aren’t going after a beast that’s worth it, then it isn’t much of a hunt at all.” she chimed in, replying to the girl. Well aware of the fact that she was probably just speaking metaphorically, the woman thought it would be fun to poke at her upon entry.

"I would swoop and get worms but I think you already took all the worms in this morning's meal." She teased lightly "I enjoy hunting when it is permitted and with friendly competition that benefits all of clover. How can I not grow excited and allow my inner animal out." She said with a smile. Just like Leona to tease her to being more bird like thanks to her feather magic. She learned to play into her feather and accepting the persona she seemed to gain from it. She dealt with Leona for ages as a child so the banter of bird verses the Lioness. She smiled turning towards Emily as she nodded. "very much so, I am eager for much bigger prey to sink my talons into so the younger ones of clover can grow to the greatest generation we will leave behind when it is our time to leave this plain." She commented with a acknowledgement.
Another year of not doing anything had passed. She was content with being lazy and out of mind with most of the world but her inner self was not happy with not achieving much of anything in the 19 years of being alive. It was about time to turn up the heat in her heart and lit a grand blaze amongst the ashes of her former self as she was determined to make waves and become something this year. "Are you both planning on joining as a team with me...It would certainly make the hunt easier with more eyes." She asked to Leona and Emily. She looked over her shoulder at Taiyo and Ozma. She has seen the Yuiee around the base but interacting with him was always hard for her to want to. He was mute and had a spirit to assist him in speech. She wasn't one who had to deal with such an odd situation for interacting. [break][break]
