Mr Jeremiah Jenkins, the owner of the Rusty Knife Tavern in Aries Garse needs help. Being one of the most popular taverns in town, he tends to a lot of patrons. Under normal circumstances, he had his employees run a great tavern. But the Temporal affects have caused issues with his memories and he is asking for help for a few shifts at least. He is one of just several cases in Aries Garse alone, but helping him would be a great service to Jeremiah himself and the town.

Name of NPC: Jeremiah Jenkins [break]Additional Information: A tall dark haired man in his 30s with a generally cheery disposition. The Temporal affects have caused him to forget how to tend to his duties as a business owner and Barkeep. He can perform simple tasks like pouring ale but is unfamiliar with proper cleaning procedures or making any complicated orders when it comes to drinks and food. He will periodically be caught in his own memories, feeling like he is a teenager again. At one point in time he was in love with a beautiful woman, but she passed away. He will often ask where she is and must be comforted in these times.
[attr="class","posiescroll"] The experiences Taiyo faced over the past couple of months were hard but he was back to being in a good place; well a better place than he was before. He came to accept that Amaya and him weren’t meant to belong but he was angry with her. It wasn’t because she went off and got into a relationship with Sol. Far from it. He wanted her to be happy even if that happiness wasn’t with him. What he was so angry about was her disregard for him. He wished she showed him that she valued their friendship instead of just saying it. Not once did she check on him or even inquired if he was processing the pain well. That was why when she came to his estate to return the necklace he gave her such a hard time. If she wasn’t going to fight for their friendship and simply slam the label of that same friendship on their relationship then he couldn’t trust her. Didn’t mean he stopped caring for her but he wanted his friend back; the one who seemed to care about him. Maybe he was blowing things out of proportion but he was a stubborn fool. It was probably one of his greatest flaws. Having such an immovable stance was important as a nobleman, especially one who was an heir and future head of house. It was what others would depend on if someone else was trying to get them to give up on their beliefs. A strong leader who would be unmoving. Even so, there was a downside to that. He had to learn when it was necessary to be unmoving and when it was time to be open to a different idea. While that may seem hard to do, it wasn’t impossible and that would be what he would be aiming to do. [break][break] With his healing, though not complete, he was putting effort into helping out the civilians of The Clover Kingdom. After all, he was still a Magic Knight and it was his duty to protect his people. That said, there were missions that civilians could do and while no stars were rewarded for those kinds of jobs, he still believed that those jobs were just as important as his job as a Magic Knight. Helping others in any capacity was always a great thing. Knowing that he wanted to help out a few civilians, he looked for what they could be advertising for help. Finding a man’s plea for help with a few shifts at a tavern in Aries Garse, Taiyo decided he would definitely help out. How hard could it be helping serve others food and ale? It couldn’t be that hard, right? Whether it was or not, Taiyo was going to find out. [break][break] Taiyo got dressed for the day which was becoming more difficult for him since his clothes were in need of being changed out. With the intense training he was putting himself through, his body was getting bigger and that meant that his clothes were getting tighter. At this point, his shirt was so skin tight that his muscles were creasing the fabric and his abs were imprinting. There wasn’t much he could do about that at the moment. He would have to get a fitting done later for new clothes to be made for him. Without much else to do, he put his magic knight mantle on and walked out of his room. ”Let’s get going, Cyra.” Before he could take another step, he was stopped by Lucia clearing her throat. For a while, whenever he left the estate either Lucia, Leona or Leonora accompanied him to make sure things didn’t go to hell. Taiyo turned to her and gave her a soft smile. ”Hey Lucia. No need to worry too much about me. I’m heading to Aries Garse to help out at a tavern. I will be fine. To besides, I have Cyra with me.” The blonde shook her head and sighed. ”Alright. Please keep your temper contained. Tavern work will not be the easiest thing. Make sure to be patient and if someone says something that annoys you, smile and ignore them.” Taiyo nodded. ”You got it.” [break][break] Lucia decided to portal Taiyo to Aries Garse before letting him be on his way. Once there, Taiyo found the tavern and the man in charge, Jeremiah Jenkins. He was a tall dark haired man who looked as if he was in his 30s. Taiyo approached the man with a gentle smile. ”Mr. Jeremiah Jenkins, Taiyo Vermillion reporting for duty. Happy to help you out with a few shifts.” The greeting seemed to have thrown the man off. He didn’t expect a Magic Knight, much less a noble, to volunteer to help out at his tavern. “Lord Vermillion, such a pleasure! Happy to have you help out at the… uh… what was its name now? I seem to have forgotten… Sorry, that has been happening quite a bit. YES! The Rusty Knife Tavern!” Taiyo had heard of those people who were suffering severe memory loss and gaps at times due to some temporal problem. It was heartbreaking to see innocent people suffer in any capacity. He looked at the Tavern and got ready to go inside to get started on the helping out.

Post by Sumire Honoka on Feb 10, 2023 23:17:36 GMT -5
Today's style of dress was a simple button-up white long-sleeve with gold buttons moving down the middle and holding the cuffs at the end of her sleeves close. Sumire smiled, standing in front of a full-length body mirror, fixing her blonde veil of golden hair, pulling it back with each brush of her comb before allowing it to flow back down freely, deciding to allow it down and free before taking a cherry red ribbon, tying her hair back loosely at the base of her neck. She pushed her bangs loosely behind her left ear as her Bright Sapphire eyes watched her reflection.
Gently she creased down her form, wearing a long, flowing blue skirt that fit at her natural waist and clung to her hips before allowing the rest of her dress to flow around her. Her fair skin glistened in the sunlight, as flawless as the freshly laid sun of a distant shore, untouched and pure. She leaned forward, taking her time to examine her lightly makeup-covered face. She wasn't one to cake makeup on like a lot of the other nobles; however, she knew the little bit she used to even out her skin tone, along with bringing out her eyes and her lips, was more than enough to get the attention she wanted to feel good. She was a lesser noble, after all. She was taught when she was younger that sometimes you must make the first step of looking available but never being available. She learned that she should always test the interest of others and look beyond the intent they put forward to find if the gem is pure in intention or flawed. She winked at her reflection as she straightened up. "Alright, let's go." She said to herself with a smile. Turning on her heels, she moved over to her bedside table, lifting her grimoire with a smile before placing it in an over-the-shoulder messenger bag. This bag was special to her, as it was the first one she ever made with her own two hands. It often held whatever she needed or wanted to carry on any specific day. Even with how much it was used, the fabrics still looked new.
All ready to go, Sumire walked to the door and opened it. She stepped to the side, watching her three siblings crash to the floor. She wasn’t surprised one bit as this was almost an everyday occurrence. “What is it that I can help you three with today?” Her voice was calm as she watched them stand up, dusting off their clothes.
The first to speak was Yuri Honoka, Sumire’s sister who was two years her junior. “Well, can we go with you today?” She pleaded, using her emerald eyes to try to help sway her sister’s choice. As a fifteen year old with her own grimoire, Yuri was more than capable of taking care of herself. The problem was, she needed to get her priorities in order. She dreamed of eventually being a magic knight and that should be her main focus instead of trying to get out of her responsibilities. On top of that, she had her political studies to tend to. “No, Yuri. You know mother’s rules. Besides, if you want to be a competent magic knight then you need to focus on your training, Missy.” Yuri pouted before whining. “Training is so repetitive and boring. I’d rather get out there and see some of the knights I’d be working with.” Sumire knew what her sister really meant. “Yuri, being a magic knight is a big responsibility. It’s not simply for you to use that to check out eye candy. You’re putting the citizen’s trust and safety on your shoulders. If that’s not what you want then you should give up on being a magic knight and continue working with the family business like I do.”
Even with Sumire shutting down Yuri, her brothers wanted to give it a shot. “What about us? Can we come with? Can we? Can we?” The twin boys repeatedly ask if they could go with her but Sumire wasn’t having any of it. They were 7 years old and would easily get lost while she was out tending to her errands. Aside from that, she was in no mood to babysit them when after a few minutes they would resort to complaining about everything. “No, Tsubaki, Ajisai; you two can’t come with me. Also, you both have studies to do. Don’t think you’re getting out of that.” They both grumbled in disappointment.
Sumire folded her arms and looked down at the three of them. “I have to go or else I will be late so please just go do what you’re supposed to do so mom doesn’t get angry later, okay?” She spoke, corralling her siblings and marching them out of her room before closing the door behind her. Sumire led them to the dining room, allowing the servants to tend to them as she walked out of the house, hearing their complaints after she walked through the door. She shook her head before looking around with a smile. "Alright, I am off for my first shift." She spoke to herself, retrieving a broom before heading off into the sky.
Sumire was excited about the opportunity to work at a tavern. Sure, she was a lesser noble, which meant having standards, but she always believed some of the most exciting people could be found in taverns. She knew her place, and that was ensuring her family's wealth and well-being remained tied and true through the various generations. Knowledge was power, and she may want to open one later in life or expand her family's multiple avenues of wealth. Plus, this allowed her to escape her siblings' annoying complaints about their studies. Each had their own wants that their mother ensured to be filled as each would have a part to play in furthering their family. Such was the way of the world.
She wasn't a prodigy at anything but she wasn’t a forgettable face in the crowd either. No, she was a Honoka. She was Sumire Honoka, and she aspired for great things in the future and had the drive to further herself without being tied down to one set path. Her fate was hers and hers alone. No one else held a say in any matter.
Soon she saw the tavern coming into view as she lowered herself to the ground before hopping off her broom, double checking her dress. She didn’t mind carriages or riding any other kind of transport. However, there was just something about flying that made it so much more worth fixing up once landed. “Good Day Mr. Jenkins.” She spoke seeing the older man with a tall flame haired man. Adjusted the broom with one hand as she walked towards them with a smile.
“Sophia my dear girl ! It has been too long how is the family?” He asked as Sumire let out a light laugh “Oh Sophia is my mother’s name, It's me, her eldest Sumire.” She replied gently letting out a laugh out of the older man of embarrassment “Sorry about that Sumire, you look so much like her when she was your age. Here to help out today as well?” He asked. Sumire nodded “Yep. After all, what better way to occupy myself in-between travels than hear all sorts of stories of all who will visit.” She spoke before turning to the other man. She looked him up and down quickly. He wasn’t too bad looking in the slightest, tall muscles clearly lining his clothing. His tan skin glistening in the sun along with her red hair radiating its own glow within the light. She however was very disappointed in the tailoring of his clothing. Maybe when he was much smaller the clothing might have seemed better suited. That still didn’t excuse the fact he had a magic knight mantle, meaning he clearly had money from the various paychecks all magic knights must get every month. If this is true then why hasn’t he fired the tailor who thought allowing such an injustice to be done to his clothing. This wasn’t going to stand as she was going to ensure he knew her opinion.
“You do know your clothing is very ill fitting of a noble such as yourself let alone a magic knight. You are more likely to blind someone with a sudden shedding of your clothing in a battle with the littlest of movements. How you managed to not rip those clothing is a miracle in itself.” She spoke in observation. If there was one thing she was good at it was her observation skills and stating her mind, regardless if anyone cared to take anything she told them seriously or not.

[attr="class","posiescroll"] While Taiyo introduced himself to Jerimiah, the tavern owner, he smiled at the man. The man seemed to be forgetting about the name of the tavern which was understandable due to the circumstances surrounding his condition. It was a condition that many residents of Aries Garse shared. A temporal sickness that affected the memories of people, young and old alike. It was sad that they had to go through such things. It made Taiyo think about his own memories and how much of a treasure they were to him. He didn’t want to lose any of his memories, even the hurtful ones. They were there for him to learn from them and become better; even the memory of Amaya breaking his heart. Not even the memory of her visiting his estate to return the necklace he wouldn’t want to give up. While both memories hurt him a great deal, they were there to remind him that the world wasn’t always sunshine and roses but also filled with a dark equivalent that caused hurt to everyone. His smile gradually transitioned into a small frown. If he and Amaya were still friends, she’d probably be laughing and making jokes about something. The thing was, he accepted that what happened did happen but that didn’t mean he had fully healed from the experience. There was so much behind each smile he had. Sure, he had processed some of the things he had buried but there was still so much he had to conquer. [break][break] The young magic knight and the tavern owner was joined by a young lady with blonde hair. From the way she was dressed, she seemed to be of a noble family. He was mesmerized by how gorgeous she was. Her blonde hair flowed with the breeze and the sun shone on her face showing no imperfections. Her clothing fit her perfectly, showcasing her curves. He was stunned by her beauty but he made sure not to show it on the outside. Was it possible to say that he never really looked at anyone outside of Amaya as attractive while he was into her? Hmmm, possibly. Maybe, he just never noticed others who were attractive but now that he wasn’t tied down and had freed up his mind from that, he was seeing the attraction. [break][break] When she got off her broom and spoke to Jerimiah, she spoke to the tavern owner, greeting him. He returned his greeting, calling her Sophia and asking how her family was doing. The young woman responded by telling the owner of the tavern that Sophia was her mom and she was Sumire, Sophia’s eldest child. Jerimiah apologized for his mistake, remarking that Sophia looked just as Sumire did when they were the same age. He then asked if she was there to help out which she confirmed that she was. It was comforting to Taiyo, knowing that he would be not alone in helping out the tavern. There was something about seeing people step up to help others. A small smile appeared on Taiyo’s face as he watched the interaction between the tavern owner and the young woman revealed as Sumire. [break][break] She turned her attention to him and he could see her looking him up and down even though it was a quick scan. When she spoke, she went straight for his clothing. She called the clothes he wore as ill fitting for him as a nobleman and a magic knight. She kept hitting at his clothes before giving him a chance to respond. He looked down at her and smiled. ”You have a sharp tongue, you know that? Shouldn’t the first thing you do is introduce yourself when speaking to a stranger?” He asked with a calm voice. He wasn’t offended by her speech about his clothing. It wasn’t that long ago that his clothes were well fitting but since he put in tons of hours training himself and his body, he got bigger and now his usual clothes didn’t fit. Sumire was right about to think about how ill fitting they were for a noble. ”I am Taiyo Vermillion. Nice to meet you.” He walked over and extended his hand to her to show he was genuinely happy to meet her. ”About the clothing, I do need to get some new clothes made but I haven’t had the time to get my measurements taken recently. You seem to know or have a passion for clothing. Would it be safe to assume that you either sell clothes or make them? Or could it be that you are a fashion expert for someone?” He was intrigued. [break][break] [break] After their outside interaction, Jerimiah led the two helpers inside and introduced them to the bartender. ”This is…. What’s your name again?” He asked, looking at the bartender who shook his head while chuckling.
“My name is Gilbert Nairn. Thanks for stepping up and helping ole Jerry out. Man, this temporal memory thing has been really bugging me lately. It sucks that so many are suffering but even so, we still have to do our best. So, that said, you both will be working shifts today as servers. Drinks will come from this side of the tavern and the food on the other side. My wife Dory handles the cooking. Here, take these aprons and when it’s time to get to work, take orders and serve the customers well. Any problems, feel free to let us know. Also, if Jerimiah starts reminiscing about his wife, do your best to comfort him. That’s all!” The man said before handing over the aprons.

Sumire watched between them with a soft smile on her ruby red lips. Her sapphire eyes gauged them to see who was going to speak first as it seemed it would be the unfamiliar red haired fellow. IN her books, Someone with such bright hair probably belong to the vermillion. She tilted her head listening to him state the fact that in normal customs she should have introduced herself first before allowing her sharp tongue. He further went to show exactly what he meant by moving closer to her before extending his hand out introducing himself as Taiyo vermillion.
Seems her assumptions were right. Though she couldn't find herself impressed by the introduction, thanks to his clothing literally mocking her in very which way. She closed her eyes while taking a deep calming breath before she curtsied out of respect before extending her hand allowing it to grip his softly in a quick handshake "Sumire Honoka. It is a pleasure to meet such a noble with a lot to be said about amongst the various chatters. Though I am sure you have heard all the gossip there is. My assumption stands that their chit chat is not my cup of tea, nor will rumors make up my mind about you. My tongue is sharp as words tends to win more battles then any blade ever could endure without shattering. "She spoke in confidence and understanding of her own tongue and the sense of her acknowledgement.
She smirked before nodding before flipping her hair back with her left hand as her right moved to rest on her hip "Of course I know of fashion and the likes. I am Sumire Honoka. My mother's side of the family are seamstresses while my father's side is of a long line of merchants with influence primarily in the east. I am a Lesser Noble here and a main Noble in the east. I have taken up the task of following in my mother's path of being a seamstress instead of becoming a magic knight like my sister." She spoke. She didn't care if he didn't like her harshness, however she wanted to ensure he knew who she was and where she stood within the lines of society. She wasn't there to become friends or chit chat of senseless things. she was here to help out with some simple tasks at a tavern. Sure she was a lesser noble here in clover. However, she worked with people of all walks of life. How hard was it to do some simple chores and talk with the various patrons of the tavern?
She followed both Taiyo and the tavern owner inside. The tavern wasn't anything marvelous nor was it a place one might find the worst of the worst laying low and making plans within the shadows. No, it had a feel of home, a feel of love and care for everything and one within it. Sumire moved silently behind them towards the bartender as she listened. It was a harsh reality of what magic could do to this world of theirs. This area held an effect of a slight loss of memory for some and a massive amount for others. Even if one had left the reign. Sumire was sure the effects would not lessen from those who were in it's grasp. Such a sad fate but a interesting phenomena.
She accepted the apron, putting it over her head, before freeing her hair from its grasp. She then tied the loose strings in a big bow behind her back. "Never was one for aprons but such work can stain one's clothing I suppose." She commented with a smile spinning around, ensuring it still had some flow to it and not be too restricting. "Perfect." She commented to herself
[attr="class","posiescroll"] After speaking to the lovely lady about the way she should converse with a stranger, Taiyo walked over to her and introduced himself. She then introduced herself as Sumire Honoka. She brought up the fact that he was quite famous among gossipers at the moment. It was to be expected considering he failed at dating a Royal. He heard the way people spoke about him and even about Amaya and Sol. Most of the things said were negative which was to be expected. People tend to take more interest in the negative things in the world than the positive things. That wasn’t to say that people didn’t say good things or empathetic things when it came to his situation. The bad for him consisted of how he let someone so valuable slip through the cracks. On the flip side, when it came to the positives, people were talking about how he didn’t deserve the treatment he got. He was very much ready for the people to leave him alone and stop gossiping about him now. Sumire stated that she wasn’t going to let the gossip build her perception of him which made him smile. She wasn’t like so many people who would write him off based on what others were saying about him. That gave him a chance to make a good first impression, well aside from his clothes. To say that he was a bit uncomfortable in them would be an understatement but nevertheless, he wasn’t going to let that show. He had other important things to deal with. ”Thank you. Some people would write me off based on the gossip around. It’s kind of refreshing to hear you say that.” She then commented on the statement he made about her having a sharp tongue. Her words about the topic were interesting. She believed that words could win more battles than weapons without the risk of ever being broken. If only it was that simple. While she did have a point, it wasn’t as easy as it sounded. If every conflict could be resolved with words the world would be a better place however this wasn’t reality. [break][break] The topic moved to her passion for fashion. He asked her if it was safe to assume that she sold clothes or made them. Or maybe she was a fashion expert for someone else. She smirked and nodded before she started to brag about her family. The level of pride she had in her family was admirable. It brought a smile to his face as he held his family in the same regard. She spoke of following in her mother’s footsteps in being a seamstress. She also mentioned that her sister was a magic knight. ”That’s admirable. I’m sure you’re making your family proud. On another note, you said your sister was a magic knight? What squad is she in and what is her name?” [break][break] Once they were inside and spoken to by Gilbert the Bartender, Taiyo took the apron. He wasn’t going to protest as it wouldn’t make a difference. There was a reason they were being given the aprons and it would be to keep their clothes safe, as Sumire correctly pointed out. Taiyo quickly threw the apron on and reached back, tying it. Once he was finished, he looked towards Sumire to see if she was ready but she wasn’t ready yet. She had to pull her hair through before she finished tying her apron. When she spun around, Taiyo smiled. ”Cheerfulness is always a good thing. Ready to do this thing?” [break][break] When the shift began, Taiyo walked out with a notepad and took down the orders of a few patrons who wanted food. At first, others were shocked to see the heir of the Vermillion working in the tavern but they quickly caught their composure and placed their orders. Once he had the food orders, he went over to where Dory was and told her what was requested. While waiting for the food, Jerimiah approached Taiyo. ”Have you seen Marianna anywhere?” Taiyo looked to Gilbert for some help with this person’s identity. Was it the woman of Jerimiah’s dreams? Gilbert gave Taiyo a look that told him Marianna was Jerimiah’s wife who had passed which meant that Gilbert was reliving a time loop in a sense. ”Mr. Jenkins, I… Marianna isn’t currently with us.” Taiyo felt really bad for him. The man was confused by what Taiyo could mean. ”Where did she go? I want to ask her a question. It’s really important.” Taiyo gave Jerimiah a soft look. ”I’m sorry, Mr. Jenkins. Marianna isn’t here but I’m sure she’s always with you.” He wasn’t doing so good with comforting Mr. Jenkins. How could he be when he wasn’t great with being empathetic? He could only hope that Jerimiah would not worsen from this interaction. ”I’m going to be right back.” The food orders were done and so Taiyo walked over to the tables and served those he had gotten the orders from. Once that was done, he walked over to Sumire. ”Hey, Sumire. Can you help me console Jerimiah?” He asked her in a whisper. ”I’m not doing a good job with it.”

Sumire smiled, ensuring her apron was tied and straight, forming to her waist as well as ensuring it covered most of her clothing. She saw how the servants have made their apron’s work and she even had helped make some of the newer aprons and outfits for the servants, especially those who serve for her. She made them special outfits because they were special to her and were dear to her.
She accepted the notepad and pencil as she moved from table to table assisting with the order taking, moving back to Dory, ensuring all the orders were in order and given properly in the format the cook had wished as well as accepting the various plates, following every indicated direction to their proper tables. She never had to balance so many different plates, but she was confident in her work. And boy did it show.
She weaved and turned around the patrons and tables, giving the proper tables their various plates of food. Getting compliments and thank yous from various ones of her movements “It is just like threading a needle. You have to move and twist the thread and see the goal. Be stern but gentle in your movements. Never settle for one way, try various ones as you might never know which the thread will accept into the needle.” she encouraged heading back to the server station to grab some more food before she heard Taiyo call out to her. She listened to him speak of needing help consoling Mr. Jenkins, as it seemed it wasn’t his area of expertise. She wiped her hands on her apron as she nodded in accepting the task. “You just need to be gently firm and connect with him. His memory isn't always there at times right? So you need to help connect the dots in a warm comforting manner, much like you might with elderly grandparents. My grandmother sometimes get lost in her thoughts and sometimes can forget who we are or who my grandfather is” She explained resting a hand on his shoulder “think of him as family, after all the magic knights protect those who can’t protect themselves, such as a father protects his wife and children.” She noted moving around him as she moved towards Mr. Jenkins.
The old man looked towards her as she smiled. “Ah Sumire Have you seen Marianna? I really need to speak with her about something.” He spoke, reaching out his hands as Sumire took a hold of them gently into her own “Mr. Jenkins.. Marianna is no longer with us in anything but spirit. She had been gone for some time now. ” She asked gently, getting him to look towards her in thought. “Marianna is gone? But here in spirit and She isn't coming back is she?” He asked to free one of his hands, allowing it to rest on his head in confusion. Sumire closed her eyes as she shook her head in agreement “Sadly, your right she isn't coming back but she has always been here in spirit and in your memories.” She replied. It broke her heart having to confront him like this. This was a harsh punishment for anyone and one she would never wish on her worst enemy as no one deserved to be tortured like this.
He looked around confused but slowly coming around. “I remember all the sights and sounds of music and songs we used to sing here together upon first opening the Tavern..” He said gently rubbing his eyes.
“Do you mind if I sing a song? It isn't good but it is something I am feeling with my heart of the love and care, you and your wife held and still hold for this place.” She asked.
“Be my guest. I would love to hear what you got.” He said, distracted by Sumire’s question as she smiled, happy to be bringing him back to reality. She let go of his hands having him take a seat. “Now before I do, I want you to close your eyes and just listen to the words of this song.” She spoke to him before turning to everyone else as she moved to the front of the tavern “That includes everyone else. I have a song I would like to sing of a silent melody of this tavern, of the love and warmth I feel being here with you all for the small time I have been here today. ”She called out getting the tavern calmed down to a silent still as after a few moments she saw the patrons and staff humbling her request.
Sumire would be lying if she didn’t say she had the biggest stage fright when it came to her magic and why wouldn’t she? Her singing was something tied with her magic and for the most part she has always hummed to herself when in her work. Singing in public was never her thing but here she was, feeling that maybe allowing her feelings of the tavern and what she saw to come out. She closed her eyes as she mustered the courage to remember the words she had wished for. Sure there was no music with her song and that was fine by her. Instruments weren't her strong suit nor did she ever have time mastering one. But it was now or never.
She took a deep calming breath before opening her lips, allowing her song to be heard.
She poured her heart into the song and allowed the feelings of the tavern around her and the melody of all around her to be felt within the song, holding each word like a gentle blanket, wrapping all who heard in a blanket of comfort and fond memories of warmth and happiness.
Once her song had ended she opened her eyes looking around at the silent tavern as she noticed something odd, the smiles on some of the patron’s faces while those like Mr. Jenkin’s had tears of happiness streaming down their face in acknowledgement of the words. Her face quickly became red upon the realization she actually sang in front of a crowd. She allowed her secret passion out and everyone was watching her as she quickly waved before dismissing herself quickly over to the server station hiding behind it as she calmed herself down.
Soon after Mr. Jenkin came over wiping his face. “Sumire…Thankyou for that and reminding me and those of this tavern, of their fondest memories, truly it was beautiful.” He mentioned.
“G-Good. I am happy I was a-a-a-able to help.” She managed to get out from her hiding place working on calming her nerves.

[attr="class","posiescroll"] Taiyo was not doing well in comforting Jerimiah, so he decided to ask Sumire for help. He wasn’t the best at helping others process emotional stuff. The last time he tried to say something to encourage someone, she got pissed and threatened to strike him. He was not cut out for comforting others, but that didn’t mean he wouldn’t do his best. Seeing that he was failing, he had decided that maybe he wasn’t the best person for that role, but perhaps the beautiful noblewoman he was working with would be able to help. She told him he needed to be gentle yet firm and connect with the person he was trying to comfort. She brought up that his memory wasn’t all there, so it was for them to help him connect the dots so he would remember, but they had to do it in a warm, comforting way, much like with elderly grandparents. She then related the experience to one of hers with her grandmother, who sometimes had trouble remembering who she was. He felt Sumire’s hand on his shoulder as she advised him. She had him view his duty as a magic knight, like a father protecting his family. She was so calm and relaxed that Taiyo couldn’t help but smile lightly. Her words hit him and gave him inspiration. There was something about the way she said it that resonated deeply with him. She had immediately become someone he wanted to be around. The mere fact that she cared about others was astonishing and very attractive. [break][break] Taiyo watched her move over to where Jerimiah was. He heard the question he was practically asked by the man being asked to Sumire. He turned to face them to see how Sumire would respond. She gently told him that she was gone but was there in spirit. She had been gone for some time which was the point in memories that he was missing. When she relayed that information to him, he questioned it, asking if she was truly gone and not coming back. It was a difficult conversation, yet Sumire stood firm in informing him of reality. She didn’t run away from the conversation as he did. He heard Jerimiah speak of the memories of him and his wife at the time they opened the tavern. Taiyo could only imagine the joy that filled the tavern during those days. Having that sense of happiness in doing something with the people you loved had to be the most satisfying experience, right? [break][break] Sumire had requested permission to sing, which Jerimiah granted her. She then asked that everyone close their eyes and listen to her voice. Taiyo did just that. He closed his eyes and waited for her to sing her song. He was astonished by her angelic voice. He was not expecting her to have such an impact on him. The melody and the words touched his heart and soul. He felt at peace at that moment. [break][break] When the song ended, he opened his eyes and smiled softly at her. It was the most beautiful thing he had ever heard. That soft smile grew more prominent and evolved into his signature grin, something he hadn’t done in a long while. He saw how red she got when she realized what she had done. She then ran off, going behind the server station. Taiyo let her have the moment she needed to gather herself. He used that time to get the patrons their orders. After Sumire returned from her hiding place, Taiyo walked up to her. ” That song was absolutely beautiful. I needed to hear that. You know, even the strongest warriors have moments where they need to feel at peace, and that song did just that for me. Thank you, Sumire.” [break][break] After speaking to Sumire, Taiyo got back to work. Eventually, their shifts came to an end. "Thank you, both of you.” With a grin, Taiyo placed his hand behind his head. ”You’re welcome. Happy to help!” He removed his apron and returned it to Gilbert. ”There you are.” The man folded his arms after accepting the apron. ”Thanks, kid. You did well. Hopefully, this would be enough for us.” [break][break] Once he was out of the tavern, he looked at Sumire. ” Hey, can I get a fitting done and clothes made for my size?” Of course, he had people to do this as a main noble, but he wanted to see Sumire again, and what better way to do that than having her do something she enjoyed? It would also let her show her work off, and he’d be able to advertise for her. Should her work be much better than the seamstresses who worked for his family, then she would be where his money would go. That was if she was up for the task. ”Also, you never answered my question about your sister being a magic knight, the squad she was in, or even her name.”

Sumire quickly got herself calmed back down coming out from behind the server station as she coughed lightly calming herself once again while straightening herself up to standards once again. She smiled looking towards Taiyo as she nodded calming down the red in her face "It was nothing. It was just what I could feel being here. This place has so much love and life and hasn't fallen to the waste side of life. You can tell from every little hole and stain that is never fully able to be restored to its former glory. The Bartender and his wife Dory holds their place dear, they continue to come here day in and day out working along side Mr. Jenkin's and his memories of this place with his wife." She said looking around the tavern.
She finished out the rest of her shift, undoing her apron, folding it neatly before handing it to Gilbert "No thank you for allowing us to assist you all, I learned a lot and enjoyed myself." She said with a smile waving as she left after Taiyo, retrieving her broom and satchel from their resting spots before hearing Taiyo speak to her about his clothing. "Hm? Well I can't mend them here as any supplies I have on me will only patch up small things. You need a complete overhaul for your outfit. My family owns a boutique along with a store front for other goods as well." She spoke lifting the opening of the satchel bringing out a card after a few seconds, scribbling something on it before holding it out to him "Its a place called the White lotus. I am free later today If you wish for a fitting, I got some things I need to bring from home but if you wish to, I can take your measurements and design an outfit for you but it will take a few days to the end of the week before your outfit will be ready to be hem and tailored to fit." She spoke Looking him up and down, taking in notable mental notes of possible touch ups and styles along with any preferences just based off his appearance.
As much as she wanted to have the rest of the day off, she figured since he was asking for a possible fitting then that meant today. Not only would today be fine but maybe she could avoid her siblings and her parent's requests of knowing how today went. Allowing her broom to lift her flats off the ground she looked over to him "Oh! You mean my little sister Yuri, She isn't a magic knight yet as mother feels she needs much more training before taking on a task. She wants to go Crimson Lions if at all possible. Though I think by the way she acts and holds herself, she will probably be accepted into the Silver Eagles if not the green mantis." She stated in thought placing her index on her chin as she looked up in thought. She looked back towards him while shrugging as she waved. "Don't keep me waiting long, Taiyo Vermillion." She called out to him as she allowed her broom to lift up before taking off towards the Capital, having things to do and grab for her possible new client.

Once they both were out of the tavern, Taiyo asked Sumire if he could get a fitting done. He didn’t expect her to let him come in that same very day. She provides him information on the establishment her family ran. It was called ‘The White Lotus’ which was a pretty cool name. He was handed a card from her with writing on it. It was probably the directions or where the place was located. Or maybe, just maybe, it was their official business card. He grinned as she told him that she would be able to make him a new outfit but it would take time. He wasn’t in much of a rush. He wanted a whole new look anyway. Maybe it was to signify that he was changing from his usual ways. Maybe it was just to feel like he was different from the kid he once was. Whatever the reason, he owed no one any explanation. [break][break] The conversation shifted to speaking about Sumire’s sister, Yuri, and her magic knight aspirations. The way Sumire worded it earlier, Taiyo assumed that the girl was already a magic knight, however that wasn’t quite the case. Their mother believed the girl needed more training before she took the exam. That was understandable. Unlike him and others that had connections, most people had to take the Magic Knight Exams. Not being prepared for that could be detrimental especially if luck wasn’t on your side. Turned out that Yuri wanted to be a Crimson Lion. Even so, Sumire didn’t think that the Crimson Lions was a good fit for her and she would be more comfortable in squads like the Silver Eagles or the Green Mantis. ”Interesting. Well, once she works hard and is prepared we will see which squads would have her join their ranks. Regardless of the squad, once she does her duty to the best of her ability everything will be alright.” [break][break] Sumire told Taiyo not to keep her waiting long as she waved at him and took off. He nodded and waved back at her. As he walked back to his estate, he thought of the experience he had helping out at the tavern. There was so much pain and suffering among the innocent civilians of Clover and that bothered him. The magic knights were doing their duty but they needed to do more to protect their people. He had much to think about when it came to that. When he arrived, Lucia and Leona confronted him, wanting to know how it went. Of course, they did. He could understand why though as it was the first time he had been out and about Clover by himself. [break] Thread Exit
