[break] Welcome all, as you've heard from his highness prince Cedric each squad is working together for the betterment of the kingdom during this festive time. I can't say that myself and my squad are happy to share the limelight, however, there is a continual argument between myself and captain Blake over which of our squads is going to be the one who holds the Yuletime ball. For the last two years, it has been the Golden Dawn who has done so and after last year I wasn't having it again, especially since they showed no class and held it inside their squad headquarters. This year, we decided we would work together to make something truly unique and magical. We have exotic foods and drinks from across the world as well as some from the four kingdoms for those who are feeling like they want to be adventurous but perhaps safe at the same time. [break][break] We do have music of course from various musicians some from the Far East for those who may be homesick, and, of course, people can dance and sing the night away. We do have a multitude of things to entertain from dancers to fortune tellers. So please leave your troubles behind even if it is only for this night and enjoy us as we leave the past behind and look into a brighter future together. [newclass=.gentext]width:500px;padding:50px;margin:auto;text-align:justify;border:solid 5px #141414;font-family:montserrat;background-color:#121212[/newclass] [newclass=.gentext b]color:#b9bdbd;text-shadow:1px 1px 1px #141414;[/newclass]
For as much as he had enjoyed the option of being paid every month for primarily doing exactly what he wanted to do and little to nothing else, there were times like these when the ‘badge’ came with some responsibilities. Responsibilities that meant doing the thing he didn’t exactly plan on doing over doing the things he had more or less set his sights on. Being a member of the Silver Eagles meant that he had essentially taken a seat among members of some of the most elite families within the land of Clover, which more or less showed itself in a plethora of ways. On one hand, you had the people who didn’t seem to think much of him for being a commoner and lacking any form of blue blood that he was aware of. Whereas on the other hand, you had people who praised him for his qualities and capabilities as a knight.
Today was one of those days where those that truly wanted to could step to the plate and proclaim that they were of the Silver Eagles or the Golden Dawn, after which the real snobs could go about further comparing themselves to one another. Wealth, status, station, all of it would undoubtedly come up, though Gawain would have no part in it. As per his choice of clothing, he had left his coat, scarf and gloves by the door, leaving him with a pair of black boots, black pants and a grey overcoat. He wasn’t brandishing any squad colors or symbols as he believed today was not the time for such things. That was not to say that he wasn’t up for a bit of banter or pride in his squad, he just knew that this was more than likely not the place where his day would end. He had been looking forward quite a bit to the snowball contest and the hunt, as well as the resulting feast taking place afterwards.
As for the room itself, the decorations were about what you’d expect from such a large gathering. Several smaller pine trees decorated with ornaments containing gold, silver and gemstones were stationed around the outline of the room. Their positioning had been done so in a way that allowed the two factions in charge of this ball to shine, with one tree being dressed in silver, the second in gold, to then rinse and repeat. Along the back of the room were two large and long banners, one for the golden dawn and one for the silver eagles, which just further proved that there was a good deal of vanity involved in this whole undertaking. Honestly, Gawain didn’t mind that. He was all for a bit of faction pride, as pride was the kind of thing that fueled a rivalry among squads. And a rivalry among squads was the only thing that kept pushing people to keep doing better. To keep being better.
Along one of the sides, there was a large banquet table filled out with a plethora of food from various regions of the world, including the four kingdoms on their end of the continent. There were constantly waiters walking back and forth to make sure everything was in order, as well as making sure the food they had put out on display wasn’t spoiled or ran out. Having a direct line to the kitchen that was kept purposefully free of all guests and visitors so they could keep the table filled and bountiful, Gawain already knew exactly where he would be spending most of his time here. Looking out across the table, he was making mental tabs on what he would be snatching up first, as this was as good a time for trying something new as it was for absolutely loading up his gut with snacks. If all went well, he’d more than likely end up combining the two, only to be rolled out of here like a bowling ball by one of the waiters.
The center of the room had been reserved for those who wished to dance, this being one of those things the ashen haired youth would try to avoid if he could. It wasn’t so much that he had two left or right feet, but rather the notion that he would prefer not to be put in the spotlight over such a thing. Beneath the two massive Golden Dawn and Silver Eagle banners was a big band, complete with almost every kind of instrument Gawain could remember by name and more. Playing a lot of merry tunes which he assumed could be danced to rather easily, it was along the outer edges of the dancing scene that people could just stand around, talk and make banter, or stuff their face with pudding or other hearty snacks.

Sumire had been busy the entire day fulfilling her orders as quickly as possible. She never cut corners on them or her duties. Atleast that was until her mother had set her own plans in motion clearing sumire's calendar to allow sumire some free time for the events of the yule season.
Soon finding herself free and getting ready with ease even with the excitement of the house especially upon her family members receiving the gifts sent by Enlil. She love the excitement and attention just like any other girl, however, it seemed new items and gifts from possibly suitors was an entire family affair and even with her protests. Her mother and sisters ensured they were in each and every part of getting ready for the Gala. She twirled around in the blue hanfu Enlil, soon sitting still for hours ensuring her hair and makeup was proper and fit for the occasion. allowing her mother to tend to that task as she knew clover and its customs. She allowed her sisters to assist with putting on the accessories Enlil had made for her of blue jade.
Once she was outside climbing into the carriage with shi she double checked herself and the small item she held in her hands. It wasn't anything expensive or special but it was made by her hand and something she knew he would appreciate regardless of the wealth. Sure it wasn't hard to spend money on a gift but inquiries into things she wanted tend to lead to questions and she didn't need her family getting curious and gum up the future she hoped was within her grasp. Sumire sighed before letting out coughed waving her hand infront of her face " I think they went too much on the powder." She spoke hearing a laugh from shi
"I think they did just fine ensuring all your gifts are complimented and in the front of any who sees them." replied the sellsword. "You sure I look fine?" she asked feeling the carriage move. The trip wasn't too long and sumire was much to eager and worried of her looks and nerves to notice anything but the stop of her carriage infront of the royal place.
Shi climbed out first assisting sumire down. "You look beautiful Sumire and will make all the girls and guys envious." Spoke the Sellsword with a smile as she looked around at the carriages and the nobles, spotting the one she was hoping to be here " Seems Lord Enlil is already here." She spoke as sumire opened her fan calming her nerves as she double checked herself " Are you sure I look fine shi!" She asked again.
"I promise Lady Sumire, you look beautiful, he really has such a eye for colors." Spoke Shi walking into the gala beside Sumire. She was just there as an escort. Last thing Shi would ever do was leave sumire's side till she was sure she was with the one she had been eager to see all night. "Such a grand occasion. I would hate to see the bill for this gala or the stresses of making such an occasion for an entire kingdom." Spoke Shi as She and sumire walked into the Gala.
Sumire felt so small but amazed at the sight infront of her. She really was in the foreign place from the dresses, to the decorations, to the dresses, to the food, did she forget about the dresses? She kept her excitement calm and collected behind her starry blue fan. "Do you see him Shi?" asked Sumire gently keeping ahold of Shi's sleeve to ensure they didn't get separated as they moved away from the main entrance to keep out of the way of the other nobles.
"That I do." said Shi gently looking over the crowd below the grand staircase. making note of the two squads hosting "both flaunting feathers...much too gody for my taste" teased shi softly "Shi be nice." she whispered holding back a light chuckle "I am. This is my first ball ever but even it is not tickling my interest." spoke shi softly attempting to focus sumire's attention from the nerves and anxieties of this ball
Enlil usually had a maid or a butler by his side but for this evening he had dismissed them to do as they wished, he was in one of the most protected places within the kingdom. He slowly walked down the hallway towards the main hall where this magnificent gala was to be held. He did stop to speak to people as they waved to him to get his attention. For the most part, it was idle chit chat but there was a few talks of business that he quickly but politely shut down as this wasn't the time nor the place for such things. They took it well and stated they would make an appointment via the usual channels so for him the matter was settled all he had to do was show up and play nice for a few hours. This was just the normal day for him so it wasn't as if he was a fish out of water.
As he got closer the music within the hall got louder, upon entering he was flagged down by members of his circle and headed towards them. It wasn't as if he could ignore them, it was like a cardinal sin inside their circle and you were more or less given the cold shoulder until ample penance had been paid. Luckily, he had never done this but the last girl that had was now somewhere in the eighth tier as she hadn't made good with the circle within an allowed time frame and was essentially exiled from the butterfly circle. After that, he had watched her attempt to gain favour with other circles but none would entertain her, it was like she was a disease and they were afraid to catch it.
He wanted to help her in her plight but he also knew that not only did each socialite tier have rules but so did every circle and to go against that would just be asking to be next. He did manage to circumvent the rules by speaking to his parents, his mother managed to get the girl into one of the more popular circles in the eighth tier. It was the only kindness that he could give her without putting his standing in jeopardy, he did send her a gift every social season but it wasn't the same as what he did for his circle but it was unique to her showing that she was still special even in the darkness where she had fallen socially. It wasn't something his circle was currently aware of as he had his mother give it to her but knew eventually one day that it would and he would have to explain and was prepared for it.
He moved over and spoke to the women in his circle gushing over how the shoes were perfect but being given a light scolding for making them think he outsourced them. He gave a light chuckle asking why he would want to ruin a surprise and that he would make up the time lost not attending their social gatherings but he was happy to hear that was forgiven thanks to the beautiful social season gift. He spent some time speaking about their dresses and his clothing and that Amaya had yet to show herself making jokes that she likely forgot how to get out of her wardrobe again. After spending a good forty-five minutes he noticed that Sumire had arrived and excused himself stating that the lady he was to escort had arrived. With a polite wave, he moved to where Sumire and Shi awaited.
Approaching he would bow traditionally to Sumire and then to Shi "I do apologise that I wasn't outside awaiting your carriage but I dismissed my servants so they could enjoy themselves and so it wouldn't do for me to be outside." he explained quietly. He had made sure that he had a pendant, charm, necklace and ring that was made from the same blue jade but easily seen that it would compliment hers, he had even worn a flowing hanfu that would match her clothing. "Thank you for escorting her here lady Shi, I ask that you entrust her to me until it is time to leave." he said respectfully. "Lady Honoka, you look..." he paused for a second "The goddess of beauty weeps as she's met her match." he said with a tender tone as he moved to her side "I hope all my gifts found you well not just the hanfu." he said with a smile as he escorted her deeper into the gala.
Word Count: 767 Total Word Count: 1,409 Coming From: Yul Festival
Merely looking around as the first of the guests were starting to wander on in, he saw how some of the other silver eagles and golden dawn members were starting to greet people. As they spoke with one another, seemingly knowing one another quite well, he couldn’t figure out whether they were all just pretending for the sake of keeping up appearances and making small talk or whether or not they truly knew one another. Within these circles, the boy imagined most of them had some level of understanding of who each person here was, as the gala was usually not attended by the poor folk from the far north. Both because they didn’t have the kind of clothing most of people wandered around in here, and because the journey this far south during the cold dark months was too perilous to brave for something as silly as a ball.
Hell, even Gawain didn’t really want to be here as much as he wanted to be at the hunting party or the snowball fight. Truth be told, there were a plethora of places he would sooner be than here. Maybe it was because he was only fifteen years old and would prefer to do something busy and active, or maybe it was just his personality that kept him from truly enjoying what these kinds of things were truly about. But the one thing he could appreciate about his place was the music that was being played by the orchestra, as well as the large amount of food to choose from. Believing that enough time had gone by and that the point had been reached where he could safely be the first to get some food. He knew how much the squad focused on certain forms of correctness, as became apparent when he wasn’t even allowed to show his butt as a means of antagonizing people.
Reaching for something that seemed like some kind of small fruit donuts with weird lines of sauce sprinkled over them, he took a bite, finding that the sprinkled sauce was on the spicy side of things. Inside, where he thought he was going to find something fruity, he instead encountered something that was quite chewy, almost having a rubbery consistency.
“Excuse me, what’s this?”
“That would be the Takoyaki. Fried octopus.”
Looking at the man in disbelief, he wondered what kind of weird guy thought it was a good idea to put octopus inside of some kind of dough ball sprinkled with a spicy sauce. However, for as weird as it might have appeared and sounded, it was actually quite tasty. Picking up a plate and taking various other foods, the boy couldn’t help but ask what they were, just in case the guy who came up with the octopus balls had any even more outlandish ideas, meaning something vile ended up in his mouth by accident. Though his plate was filled up mostly with these ‘takoyaki’ octopus balls, he also had a bunch of skewers which had similarly outlandish names. One was called ‘yakitori’, though it just sounded like someone trying to make chicken skewers sound fancy by sprinkling on some herbs and spices. The other was called ‘kushiyaki’, which seemed like a similar attempt at making a beef skewer sound fancy.
Regardless, he was chomping down fairly hard on these new kinds of food, food which he had never seen nor heard of before, but found to be well to his liking. All of his snacking seemed to have caught the attention of a rather large, heavy man with a large belly that had been eyeing the food for some time now as well. Approaching him, it seemed that there might have been a bit of a misunderstanding there at first.
“Excuse me young man, I’m not sure if staff is meant to be eating out here. There’s probably a special room for you in the back for that kind of thing. But while you’re here, mind telling me what it is you’re eating?”
Looking over his shoulder as he looked the man in the eyes, or at least attempted to look in the eyes as his seemed to be locked on Gawain’s food, the boy wondered why the man thought he was working here. Maybe it was because of his attire being rather down to earth, rather than wearing something that was at ‘out there’ as what most of the others were wearing. However, seeing as this was a gala that had been hosted by his own squad, Gawain couldn’t exactly tell the man to take some skewers and shove them up his own butt. No, this situation asked for him to be more delicate and politically correct.
“Oh, I hadn’t figured you were speaking to me good sir. I’m not part of the waiting staff. The name’s Gawain, 5th grade Senior knight of the silver eagles, soon to be vice captain. But to answer your question, these are called ‘takoyaki’, octopus. A recommendation for all those with… adventurous tastes.”

Sumire looked around speaking quietly with Shi, attempting to keep herself distracted from some of the attar of this gala. Were some of the seamstress not caring anymore about the garments they put their customers in? From colors not complimenting the wear's own skin tone, to the cuts for each gown. There were some that were perfect and fitting, but alot of them were, interesting.
Shi silently nudged getting Sumire's attention to the figure moving towards them as she brightened up instantly at the sight of Enlil as she closed her fan. "It is quiet alright Enlil. We wouldnt hope for you to wait outside when you have others here, such as your circle that also wishes your attention."She spoke sweetly.
She let out a light chuckle as she moved to his side.
"Why of course, you are much more capable then most of clover in what i have observed, plus it is only fitting she is escorted by someone who knows this occasion as if it was second nature. Have fun you two, I will be outside waiting."Spoke shi bowing back as she twisted on her heels heading out to relax and wait.
Sumire smiled watching shi leave as she turned her attention to Enlil as she spun once allowing her hanfu to flow like water " I love it really. Everything you gotten me compliments it and myself perfectly. You must have requested this from the Yuiee." She stated happily as she felt her face grow red from his compliment. Sumire was never one for smooth talkers, they were always bad news and most likely searching for something else. However, she didn't mind it with Enlil because she knew what he said was genuine, something he wouldn't just say to anyone anywhere anytime. When he said it, he meant it. "Y-You look stunning as well"She managed to get out controlling her stuttering as she nodded " I have everything on that you have sent to me. It would be quite rude of me not to accept each and every gift you have taken time and effort in ensuring was made for me." She spoke gently as she walked along side him deeper into the gala
“O-o-octopus? You mean those nasty slimy things with the bulbous heads that they fish up from the sea? Oh my, what do those taste like?”
Looking at the large man as he started cramping together in disgust, Gawain noticed some courageous hints of interest. Taking one of the Takoyaki balls and taking a bite, he again tasted the savory flavor of the dough ball itself, the spicy flavor of the sauce and the chewiness of the octopus ‘meat’ inside. By now, he had eaten several of them already and had gotten more or less used to the strange combination of flavors, textures and ingredients. In truth, Gawain didn’t know a whole lot about an octopus, knowing what little he did because he had been living by the sea for most of his life, either along the coastline of eastern Clover or the port on Skjaergard. And since most of those didn’t exactly fish for octopi, he only really remembered one of them escaping from a net once and that it had a bunch of limbs and a big head.
“It’s hard to say. The dough ball itself is savory, the sauce has a slightly spicy flavor to it while the octopus is a bit chewy, but has a fairly savory taste as well. I’m hardly a food critic, though I would recommend you have a taste, sir.”
Normally, the boy wasn’t one for honorifics and such, believing that as far as the world was concerned, he was really just an orphan boy that had gotten lucky to be taken in by the silver eagles to begin with. But Gawain saw things differently. For all of the skill he possessed and the stellar growth he had shown both by rising up through the ranks of the magic knights, mastered much of what his grimoire had to offer while also pushing his very young body to the limits of what it was capable of and beyond. The way he saw it, there were no others of his age that could do what he had done, just like how the vast majority of magic knights that were a lot older than he was that could reach his level. And he was going to keep rising and climbing until he could claim the seat of vice captain, a position where he could firmly place his buttocks and show to the world that he had amounted to something.
It was one of the main reasons why he had been refraining from showing his ass as a means of taunting people, why he had tried to be a bit more respectful when attending parties such as these, and why he had focused so hard on earning gold stars for the squad. In the latter sense, he honestly felt like he was the only one that was actually carrying his weight, knowing there to be people who have practically started renting soil so they could stick their feet into the ground and start laying out roots. That was his way of saying that it seemed like they had decided to become part of the furniture, but never gave enough of a shit to actually do anything useful. It was something he had been trying his darndest to break and change for any others that might join the squad, and why he wanted to become vice captain. It was perhaps the fastest way to get to a position of note from which he could start kicking the good for nothings and the lazies into shape.
But for now, he was stuck talking to rich people who seemed to not know a whole lot about things but seemed too stuck in their ways to try anything else, yet wouldn’t mind watching somebody else sticking that same food down their traps. Gawain didn’t mind that though, he had eaten in front of a crowd before, and he’d do it again if it meant he could keep shoving food into his mouth while maintaining some surface level conversations about said food.
What was the holidays without a little fun hm? Jirou smirked to himself as he made his way into the maid area of the yule festival. He wore exotic fur clothing, made from mana beast and silk material. The coat was a soft and luxurious eastern style outfit, florished with pure white albino peacock feathers. Underneath the pure white coat that was kept magically clean, he wore a bright and festive red outfit underneath. Dressed and decorated with golden fish and coins embroided into the outfit giving a soft jingling sound. The shoes he wore were fish shaped, and were red and gold as well, the tails spiralling out into a high pointed back that had strings of small coins attached to them. He was a walking symbol of fortune, good luck, and prosperity. The fan he held in his hand was magically enchanted to blow a soothing warm wind when he needed it, so he could keep himself from being cold in the face. It wasn’t much stronger then a gentle wind. The back of his coat was also covered in peacock and fishscale designs, with the end of his coat touching the ground being a mix of peacock feather and jingling coins. Despite all the coins, youd have to be actively listening for them to hear them given the enchantments. He was specific in wanting it to be almost quiet, until someone wanted to rest their eyes upon him. [break][break] Resting over his waist atttached to the sash was a small lotus shaped hand warmer, the cloth enchanted to help keep his hands warms when he placed them inside. Around his eyes and face was the most delicate and gentle facial makeup, it was applied with such skill it was clear whoever had done it was a master in makeup and dressing themselves up. He would make his way forward, the long tail of his coat leaving not a single footprint as he moved forward through the snow. He would enter the Regal Gala. As he did, he knew his servents would be in the back areas preparing the traditional desserts f his homeland, as well as being open to cook any dish requested of them by those attending. This hadnt been cheap, it had been nearly 6 months of saving his stipends but it was all well worth it. It wasn’t much, but he would give each person he met tonight a red evelope filled with 888 yul, a lucky number twice over, as the 8 itself was lucky, but repeated thrice made it much more lucky. The blessings from the envelope would be small, but he knew it would bring good fortune to those he gave them too. He would smile as he looked down from the entry into the ballroom. The stairs went down, letting him see all the people in the room. He smirked a bit, as he was politely introduced as was Noble fasion when someone of Proper Blood arrived. He would wave it off, acting humble. He would make his way into the ballroom and make his way first to the tree that was so brightly decorated in colors and baubles. He would place a red envelope with a prayer inside it onto the branched of the tree and would smile softly. [break][break] He would then begin to make his way through the ballroom, before noticing a rather rude exchange. Hed watch as the larger man handled it with care. He could tell the man was stunned by the larger mans politeness and he chuckled. He heard the man say his name and he chuckled. “My goodness, how to call creatures who gave their life for a wonderful meal nasty and slimy.” he said and smiled. “a pleasure to meet you Gawain, the stories do not do well to show your size. I am Jirou Yuiee, junior 5th class of the Golden Dawn.” hed say with a polite and sincere bow, the man would then be quickly escorted from the pair by a waiter who was dressed in eastern clothing, distracted with sweet treats and nice words to smooth over his exit. He would remove from his sleeve one of the red envelopes. “A gift, from one culture to another.” he would say showing it was a proper gift and not meant to be insulting in any way shape or form.

Enlil bowed to Shi once more "Thank you for entrusting her to me" he said calmly in a respectful tone "Although, why wait outside? It is cold, please you should remain inside and enjoy the festivities and food." he said with a smile, he didn't understand why a person would want to pass up good music and wonderful food for shivering in the cold and people watching when the latter could be done in the warmth. "I was born in Clover Lady Shi, all I've known is my social circle since I was very, very little" he said thoughtfully. Now that he stopped to think about it he had the same seven friends since he was essentially an infant, this wasn't including the girl that had been thrown out when his group was seven or eight years old. He wondered if he spoke to his circle if they would lift the stain so Jessica could finally start rising through the ranks.
He already knew that was going to be an uphill struggle but tonight wasn't the time to think about such things. "Between you, myself and the four walls Lady Shi I would leave my circle if I could, but, perception is a thing that my father takes seriously." he said his voice whispering so only she could hear. He didn't even want to imagine what would happen if that one sentence got back to his circle, he would have some serious explaining to do. He honestly felt trapped but he was ever the dutiful son, however, there were times his efforts never felt good enough to his family but that was the reason he kept trying to hone his skills as a geomancer and jeweller. "I paid heavily for our outfits to be made by the imperial seamstresses, our jewellery I made myself." he admitted to her.
"I honestly didn't know if I would have managed it as well..." he motioned over to his circle who were still marvelling over their gemstone shoes. "One single flaw and I'd have to start over." he explained to her even from where she stood she would be able to see the amount of detail that the shoes had and how they matched the dress perfectly. "It's a shame they'll never be worn after tonight." he said with a sigh "It's seen as a cardinal sin to wear an outfit twice in my circle; the chances of them getting another outfit to go with those shoes is slim." he admitted but he knew given how they were gushing about these one of a kind shoes that only they could wear they may get some more use on special occasions.
"I would have made you a new hairpin but I'm sure you prefer the hairpin I gave already given its meaning." he said noticing the conversation going on between a silver eagle member and a noble about a type of food from his homeland. It was then something else caught his eye and made him sigh "I see they the imperial peacock has arrived." he sighed, he knew his circle could be a little showy given what was expected of them but Jirou took it to an entirely different level. "It is hard to believe that he and Princess Hinota are related. He's like a peacock flashing his feathers for a mate whereas she is more demure and simple." he said shaking his head leading her away from the crowds but closer to the musicians believing she may enjoy watching "Is there anything I can get you to drink or eat Lady Honoka?" he would ask with a handsome smile. "By the way when you blush it adds to your radiance." he would whisper into her ear.

Ryoshi stepped into the gala and took a long around, he was garbed in his usual attire though with his coat fastened he didn't look out of place as his coat while strong enough for battle was made from high grade material and was a pristine while color with black accents in places, though the coat came to mid shin his boots were visable though he was sure not many would be looking that low and even then it could just be assumed he had come from the hunting event he had heard of, The rogue has also slicked his hair back some so that way he didnt look as he ususally did and instead looked more neat as opposed to his his hair was usually wild. As he glanced around the room he saw many nobles chatting and gallivanting about, while he didnt know much about the social circles in clover he knew that he could at least pick up some good information while he was here.
He moved over to where the food was at before taking a glass of red wine and taking a sip and instantly he could taste the darker notes of black currant and black cherry an finish that was slightly smoky which was very pleasant change of pace to the fruit notes, taking another sip he enjoyed the acidity and the complex flavor of the wine as he spotted the young noble he had encountered on his travels thru the region though at the moment he seemed to be enjoying his time in the spotlight and giving away money so Ryoshi would leave him be as he didnt want to draw to much attention to quickly he figured it was better to ease himself into the event first then he could reach out and make some small talk, turned he moved over to where the band was playing and he would take a stand nearby and listen as he relaxed but kept his attention on what was going on around him, out of the corner of his eye Ryoshi spotted a couple near the musicians as well but the aura uses made sure he was far enough away he didnt seem like he was intruding or eavesdropping and instead was just enjoying the music.

Shi turned listening to him as she chuckled listening to him "Oh I prefer the cold and its truth more then the false smiles of presentation shown within these societies we all cling to." She Spoke turning back towards them as she nodded tilting her head placing a finger to her lips in an assumed ponder even though it meant something different. "I remember life within the nobility of hers and my own homeland, though I will say I did not care for such things myself. Too false."She said looking around as she brought out a steel grey and blue fan with markings of a breeze with multiple white spider lilies bringing it up as she moved past him stopping to return a whisper of knowledge of her own. "though from one veteran to another. Your circle will likely last for another 2-5 years. Soon all will grow and have duties of their own to lead to future generations. You have a heavy future to bear infront of you, I am eager to see if you can handle both hers and your own when your futures truly become one in the same." She spoke ensuring for his ears alone as she moved past them closing the fan as she waved behind her.
Sumire watched the interaction between them both with a smile. She was sure it wasn't anything too bad as she looked at the scene around them before noting Enlil's words to her. "I thought it was yuiee made. the stitching and feeling of such material reminds me of Hania's own from the interesting encounters of tending to a dungeon with him and two other magic knights. It is much better then any fabric we have whether made or bought. The material feels so nice to the skin, but you really don't have to spend so much on me."She said gently
"I also think your creations are absolutely gorgeous. It is a shame they take such creations for granted to only be worn once "She replied looking over to his circle. She had gotten along well with the ones she meet when she was invited to join them. It was quiet odd to see him being the only male amongst all the females in his circle. Any could be perfect to the imagination to his liking but instead she was the honored one to have his eyes. In her opinion, while it is a honor to make anything for the highest of the circles, for such things made of gems and the time it takes, she felt they could actually care for the shoes to wear them more then once. Though on a merchant standing, such one of a kind items can be sold for such a fortune and any merchant worth their salt would wish for such a gemsmith to contract and make things with.
She allowed her train of thought to return back to the conversation as her eyes soften as she closed them shaking her head "No, this one is more then enough, there is no amount of hairpins that could ever touch how much I cherish the one you gave me. Whether I wear it or not, it is always with me or near me, I just feel better with it you know." She said gently.
Her eyes followed his as she sighed gently behind her fan. "As much respect as I have for Princess Hinota, Jirou is the most oddest of the three. I even enjoy my conversations with Prince Ozma. For being twins, those two are on vastly different showings of their wants."She spoke softly watching jirou closely. She didn't trust him, not as far as she could push him anyways. His show of wealth just spoke volumes of him making up for something or try to ensure all was ensnared into whatever he didn't want them to see.
She had heard stories of showing such massive wealth would soon allow a darker secret to come to light either within that time or further into the future. "I worry for any that catch his eye." She spoke softly losing her track of mind to another thought of the tea party she spent with Jirou. She was thankful for Junjie to have been there or who knows what could have became of their time together.
She moved alongside Enlil turning her attention away from Jirou as she looked towards the musicians they walked towards. She watched and took in every movement and detail of their instruments in thought as her bright sapphire-like eyes moved towards him listening to his question. She looked up in thought closing her fan, resting it against her chin. "um...hm. I am unsure what they have here, how about you surprise me, your the expert of such things within these festivities." She said with a smile as she felt her cheek grow even redder from the whisper.
"Oh now someone is enjoying their beautiful vocabulary." She spoke with a soft laugh. " I can wait here for you to return if that helps." She added gently looking around making note of all the movement from the food table to the dance floor to those who also rather stand near the musicians.
Truth be told, Gawain had expected a lot of kooky things on an evening such as this one, and for good reason. Whenever something was hosted by the two magic knight squads that arguably held the richest among nobles within their ranks, such things were to be expected. But the attire of the man that entered into the room shortly after the ashen haired boy worked down the last of his Takoyaki seemed excessive. Rather, it seemed beyond excessive. He had heard of the term ‘peacocking’ before, though he hadn’t imagined that actual parts of the peacock bird would be incorporated. From the look of things, it seemed as though the man wanted to get involved in the conversation about foreign cuisine, or so he thought. Before long, the man Gawain had been speaking to more or less got brushed aside and taken away by a bunch of aides, which seemed highly unorthodox.
Regardless, the boy didn’t mind very much as it would at the very much allow him to eat without any overly invested spectators. But when the guy introduced himself, Gawain wasn’t sure whether a joke was made about his height or if it was meant as a way of saying his track record exceeded his size. It didn’t matter. Choosing to take it as the latter, he kept his thoughts on the conversation while he took his first ever bite from a Yakitori skewer, which was very much to his liking. Claiming to be a junior knight belonging to the Golden Dawn, he wasn’t something Gawain had ever seen before. Which in a way made sense, as he really only knew of the people he had ever been on a mission with, or kept tabs on due to their reputation of being a powerful mage. In those regards, the boy was quite simplistic in nature, and for good reason.
He was young, only fifteen years of age. In his care, a four-leaf grimoire with one of the most powerful types of magic known to man. His past, one rife with struggle and tragedy of the harshest kind, but also a clear path towards redemption. He sought to prove himself, to compare himself to anyone and everyone with some merit to their name, to see whether he could compete our outpace them and climb that much higher on the food chain of power. To him, last names and houses mattered little, as he could barely remember most of them. To him, political power meant nothing. Someone could hold enough money to buy a castle, but if he struck them hard enough, they’d still die. It was why nobility and the like held no real value in his opinion. But, unlike Griswold who had been very vocal about how nobles ruined this country with their greed, Gawain couldn’t give a rats ass about such things. He didn’t hate them. He just paid them little to no mind.
“Greetings Jirou. I’d introduce myself, but it seems you already did that for me, and arguably better than I could have done it myself!”
Being handed a little red envelope, the boy looked it over for a moment before putting it into the pocket of his overcoat. Even though he had practically been raised amidst fishermen and raiding barbarians, he knew that opening such gifts in front of people could be considered disrespectful. That, and given how he had spent most of his time here eating, he didn’t want to run the risk of dirtying whatever was inside with any stains. From the sound of things, the gift was something that held some cultural significance that was to be exchanged with those of another culture. In that sense, he wondered what culture this was about, as he quite honestly didn’t have a clue.
“Thank you, it is much appreciated, though I didn’t bring any gifts of my own. I was under the impression people just came here to chat, dance, eat and be merry.”
Enlil looked at Shi as she spoke, he could understand that like kind of surrounding wasn't for everyone, especially as it was just a sea of masks hiding true intentions and feelings. It was something that he knew all too well between traditions and his social standing. He had remained quiet when she had stated about her own and Sumire's homeland but he had found it insulting as though he had been born inside Clover he had spent time in his family's homeland so he understood his roots. They shared a homeland but to him, it seemed as if Shi didn't believe this to be the case and saw him as Clovian. He shook his head as she spoke about his circle dissolving in two to five years 'She doesn't understand. It's like in the imperial court. you remain close to those you trust and can rely on, it doesn't just dissolve because you get older.' he thought to himself
As they parted ways he quirked an eyebrow and tilted his head as Sumire spoke about Hania's clothing "How would you know what the head of the Ravencrest's clothing feels like?" he would ask, there wasn't any hint of accusation or jealousy in his voice, he was genuinely confused and curious on the matter besides if rumours were anything to go buy he was more interested in reading than attempting to court anyone. There had been plenty of families that had sent daughters and sons under the guise of alliances, trade etc to attempt to catch his eye but all he had been was a gracious host and shown not a hint of interest in being anything more than that. He had met the ice mage quite a few times and from what he saw he kept the world at arm's length.
"A goddess of fabric, tailoring and beauty such as yourself deserves nothing but the best and so the best was sent." he said with a handsome smile. "Besides Lady Honoka, as quickly as currency leaves it can be regained, this is not the case with treasured memories, they will remain locked within a heart forever and seeing your smile is a new treasure I will enjoy throughout this lifetime and every lifetime thereafter." he said looking away his cheeks pinking a little. He looked back at her and shook his head "I still have much improvement to make. I am thankful for the compliment on my work though." his voice was humble as he spoke about his skills as he didn't see them as anything special. "It is just how things are inside my circle, but the shoes might be worn more than just this time I don't know." he said honestly.
"At first they gave me hell over my family heirlooms thinking they were just regular accessories I kept wearing over and over again but when they understood they stopped speaking on it." he said with a shrug. "I see you are wearing it this evening and it makes my heart flutter so." he confessed his cheeks flushing a bit more. It vanished as they continued the conversation on the imperial children "If you do not trust prince Jirou then I implore you not to trust prince Ozma, they are twins and it means whatever sickness is in the blood of one will be in the blood of the other." he whispered so only she could hear, the last thing either of them needed was these kinds of words getting back to their families or the imperial family. He didn't want to think how much hassle that could and would cause them.
He listened to her as he also turned his attention to Jirou "As much as I fear for them if it was a choice between another and you he can take the other." he said simply his tone though still calm showed he would do his best to protect her from danger. He knew how that may sound given he was a socialite who had never seen a battlefield nor had ever been in a true fight but he would hold to his word regardless of those facts. He stopped at the musicians and bit his lip thinking about everything that had been said about Jirou "Lady Honoka, how about we go to one of the other events, this way you will not need to worry about interacting with the flamboyant peacock." he suggested to her, he knew that they couldn't hide from the imperials forever but for this night they could do so without worry if they so pleased.

Sumire listened as she smiled "Oh that is simple. I have allowed my curiosity to focus into the world of the dungeons within clover. I meet Lord Kenja Ravencrest of the golden dawn and Asahi of the black bulls in two different ones. One was amazing and so interesting and the other was interesting and had the cutest food like hamsters. However that second dungeon, their actions really did tarnish the already view on the magic knights within his kingdom. Hania read our three reports and had requested that I join him and the two previous mentioned magic knights in an attempt to help remedy my view upon the actions of his cousin. For the most part of that dungeon I remained next to him in safety as he both fought and taught the younger two magic knights.
Oh you should have seen it. It was absolutely amazing to see the differences in strategies, magics, and handlings. He really has earned his rank as vice captain and all the respect everyone has given him." She spoke happily getting lost in the excitement of the memory. "Though you can tell he is a very very busy man but how he manages to handle everything is amazing as most would have likely broke down." She stated happily.
she could feel her cheek grow a bit hotter with color flushing through them of his compliments and flattery. Anyone else she would just push their flattery aside as most don't care about her other then their own wants. for sumire it was just simple, if she doesn't have a hint of liking one beyond a client or friend, flattery will fall on deaf ears. "now you are much to sweet of giving me such praise Enlil. Wealth can come and go but I do agree, the memories and feelings within those I have with you are much more worth and brighter then any material object" she said gently.
"while you might have much room for improvement. I still think they are beautifully done with a lot of personality and care even most masters will never be able to put into each item." She spoke gently " I am sure the girls will find another special occasion to show the beauty of your work. I know I have upon receiving this item from you. I can't seem to get myself to leave my room or straight my own day without knowing it is in it's place. It just feels comforting and right." She said gently resting her hand gently on her check with a smile as she nodded in acknowledgement of his warning to not trust Ozma. She couldn't blame him, such knowledge is something that can be assumed of any bloodline. Twins are often said to being two halves of one whole. Her gut regardless didn't trust anyone whole heartedly as not everyone is as pure as they can seem since all beings has a darkness inside. For some it is near non existent. others it has been trained to move in the shadows of a bright smile. To some, it has learned how to fool everyone.
She snapped her train of thought back to his request of them both moving to another of the festivities so they wouldn't have to allow their company to be bothered. She thought it over as she couldn't find a reason not to. Sure to any it can be seen as rude. However, she was here as his +1. It would be rude not to give him all her time and attention as such time and attention has always been so limited and held back by formalities and unwanted ears.
"Alright, I don't mind, where would you like to go first?" She asked sweetly
The gift had been given, and taken. As The man smiled who he had though was Gawain confirmed that he was indeed in fact, Gawain. He received a mental message from one of his servents in the kitchen. The food of their homeland was finished, and ready to be taken out upon his signal. Jirou would gently move from his side a paper fan that he opened and with a quick flick and a movement hed see the head servent for his section of the food nod and move to the kitchen to have the food brought out. For anyone watching, two large lines of servents, all dressed in the finest silks and culinary aprons made their way out of the kitchen and would make their way to each guest. Each servent carried one plate in each hand, with 2 Delicious choices of filled Bao buns. One was filled with barbiqued meat, that was taken from the finest cows he could source from the clover region, the other was filled with a delicious red bean paste and Ube jam. Hed smile, as with another signal to the servent approching him and Gawain, the servent would remove the red envelop from the platter for Gawain, as he had already received his gift, the other platters would have the envelopes there and would allow only one for each person to be taken. [break][break] Jirou would smile and with the same fan hed wave away Gawains concerns about not having a gift to return the holiday spirit. “Nonsense. There is no worry. I do not give these gifts in the hope of doing anything but furthering the holiday spirit.” he smiled and would put the fan away finally. For anyone who looked closely at the envelop the Imperial Seal, the same seal as the Yuiee family. Jirou would smile happily knowing he would have made his ancestors proud of him.
