"I…" she started, shaking her head a few times after the white haired man had spoken. She wasn't sure how she was supposed to respond, so instead she chose silence and let her eyes refocus on Sumira once she had addressed her. She stayed quiet for a moment, her eyes locked back on her own arrangement before a soft sigh escaped the girl after Jevi and the girl with the weird had taken their leave. With less people around, her confidence seemed to jump a little, the girl opting to look directly at Sumire for a change instead of generally darting and avoiding looking in one place for too long. Sumire was a musician, that alone made her feel a lot more comfortable around her.
"My mother was a traveling entertainer. I grew up on the road learning how to sing and dance from her in order to get by. She prided herself on her own music so she tried to teach me as much as she could… even taught me the lute. I get excited by music easily as a result." she said, her voice getting softer as the other two arrived once again. Eventually she would speak up to apologize for her own silence, the girl not expecting anyone to speak up on the matter. When someone did she looked back up from her arrangement, having just trimmed a flower and stared at him for a few seconds.
It was fascinating how a good performance stuck with a person for years? Was it fascinating? How was that fascinating when music was supposed to effectively speak to one's soul in ways that magic could not. No, that statement didn't make sense to her, music was supposed to leave an impact. Performance in general was supposed to leave an impact, leave a lasting impression on people and hopefully give them something to look forward to in the future. The idea that it was fascinating to someone that it would do what a performance was always intended to do… Why would one question that?
There was also the fact he was being nice to her. He had said Suru right? She recognized the name, just as she had made herself aware of all the noble families so she knew who to avoid. She trusted men very little, but noble men even less. Aura knew she had the looks, but she also knew why some would chase her harder. She had a rare rank grimoire, especially for a commoner. They just wanted her magic in hopes that their child would inherit the magic as well and bring pride to the family. She simply shook her head in response, finally knowing what she wanted to say as she continued to trim out her arrangement, being on the tail end having worked on it the whole time. "It's not fascinating… It's by design. If your performance isn't remembered for a time to come what is the point in doing so? No, the goal is always to have an impact on a person's life, no matter how big or small. It's not fascinating, it's ultimately the purpose of a performance." She doubted he would understand though, she grew up a much different life, one that the would never understand It was impossible for him to ever experience what she had, a noble's life would always be a sheltered life in comparison to her life of pain and suffering over the past four years.

It was a nice time at the flower arrangement area of the festival. The people were nice and Sumire was especially helpful in both encouraging him to try something new as well as guiding him through it so he wouldn’t make a fool of himself. The other blonde girl Aura seemed very excited to talk about music, yet cut herself short and Jevi tried to let her know that it was okay to say more. However, she didn’t really answer and instead shook her head before staying quiet. There was a slight frown on Jevi’s face as he didn’t understand what kept Aura from continuing her passionate speech. She seemed fine talking to Sumire, but when it came to him she shut down. Was he the problem? He didn’t know the girl, nor had he said anything offensive to her to his knowledge. Whatever the case, prying to get more information wouldn’t be helpful and so the young elf decided it was better to give Aura some space.
[break][break]
When it came to Synthia, Jevi decided to ask her if she had found any flower she liked. As it turned out, she had and it was the first thing that came to her mind for a centerpiece. It was a peach blossom, and Synthia immediately got defensive about not choosing it because it was cute, but because her family owned a peach orchard. A slight grin played on Jevi’s lips, and while his eyes were focused on his own flower arrangement his tone of voice was clearly a teasing one. “Well have I ever, the tough, strong Synthia thinks a pink peach blossom is cute? Who would have thought you’d be so girly~?” Since he’d known the witch for a while, he knew exactly how to push her buttons as he laughed lightheartedly before shaking his head. “You can find things cute without it taking away any of your strength, you know?” Jevi gave Synthia a wink before he focused back on his flower arrangement following Sumire’s instructions.
[break][break]
In the meantime he also spoke to Kingsley as he revealed to be a tailor. He made mention of having picked up on somethings from his family and how he had more magic in his pinkie finger than they did in their entire bodies. A slight frown clouded Jevi’s expression as he thought back to his own family. How he was the only one with true potential and had been forced into the expectation that he’d lead the Suru family to greater heights. All so his father could feel more important than he truly was. In the end they were all the same, but that idea never clicked for his father. The white lily which was the centerpiece of his flower arrangement was for his mother as she was far more like Jevi when it came to their ideals, but was forced to remain silent by his father. “I’m in a similar position.” The young elf forced a smile, hiding his sadness and frustration with practiced ease as he began to finish up his flower arrangement. “How’s this, Sumire?” The white lily was surrounded by blue periwinkles and greenery, sticking out above the rest in the vase.
[break][break]
Aura ended up talking some more about plays and performances and Jevi commented that he found it fascinating that these works of art had such a lasting impression. Synthia joined in, saying that martial arts were just as much a performance seemingly believing he thought otherwise. Jevi quizzically tilted his head and blinked, slightly confused by the premature outburst. “I never said they weren’t? Martial arts can be quite captivating.” As for Aura though, she didn’t seem to agree with him. It wasn’t fascinating to her, because a play, performance or song was made with the intention of sticking with you. They were merely doing what they were supposed to do and fulfilling their purpose.
[break][break]
Jevi listened attentively, giving the girl a nod in acknowledgement as his expression once more faded into a melancholic one, the sadness behind his slight smile seeping through. “You’re right, though just because something is given a goal or purpose doesn’t mean it will be able to see it through. When that happens, it ends up being a disappointment to the creator…I imagine anyway, I’m not a performer after all.” Jevi focused back on his flower arrangement, turning quiet. The young elf knew all too well what it was like to end up being a disappointment for not following the goal that was set for him. Hopefully the Crimson Lion squad wouldn’t end up like that. He wanted to make them proud. He wanted to make the kingdom proud. But most of all, he wanted to be able to look at himself and feel like he had done the right thing in defying his father’s wishes. As he thought about these things, his flower arrangement got its final touches as he finished it up.

Synthia probably shouldn't have commented about the fact she found a color cute, because afterwards she heard nothing but teasing from Jevi, which while it was expected, in a situation like this, just made her even more embarrassed. Synthia's blush simply turned into a crimson red instead of a light red as she waved her hands, and quickly hid her face under her hat as her face pouted a little more. Sure it was true what Jevi said, but that still didn't stop her face from blushing in embarrassment as she pulled her hat over her eyes.
"S-Shut up, it's not that simple."
Of course Jevi knew exactly what buttons to push to rile Synthia's nerves, and of course, it was all in good jest here. Sure, but... well, just a small part of her wanted to punch that stupid smile off his face, though thinking about it, maybe it would've been in bad taste around the other Magic Knights, so she just went back to focusing on what she was making in terms of flower arrangements. Though her ears couldn't help but perk up with the conversation that he was having with the other Blonde Haired Girl.
Her ears also leaned towards Kingsley as he made an offhanded comment about amateurs making masterpieces, at which she chuckled a little bit, nodding as she finished weaving a few stems together to make a sort of bracer for the pot. His comments were a bit funny, as she tilted her head to listen to what more he had to say on the matter, as her eyes went back to her pot.
"Eh, I wouldn't go so far to say anyone can make a Masterpiece, but hey you can sure make whatever you have in mind look good if that's what you're looking for. Long as it looks good and matches what you're looking for, I'd say it's good enough!"
She brushed some stray petals from the table as she listened to Aura's comments about a performance. She pondered the choice in words about impact, big and small, as she finished with putting the Vase around her specified flower chioces, and sighed. She rolled her eyes at Jevi's words, shrugging as she put another flower into the vase.
"Yeah, I know, I know, just saying Snowy."
She nodded her head at Jevi's words, and held her head in reminiscence. Such a performance that resonated and made someone remember. She had intimate experience with that, didn't she? She still remembered clearly that day she discovered her passion for maritial arts, and she adored every second she got to prove it. Both were right in some regards, and it was interesting to hear what they had to say, but her mind droned a bit as her brain struggled to keep up with what was being reflected across each side. She held her head in thought, before shaking it and chuckling to herself, clearly having a good time still.
"Well, you two are certainly getting along, heh."
She stretched her arms as she considered the Vase she had arranged, a wreath of flowers adorning the lip of the pot as the flower perked and pruned around the edges, providing a nice contrast and yet cute and comforting feeling to it. It was something that Synthia liked as she grinned and leaned back, happy with how it was coming along so far.
"Haaaah, man that was nice. Though, won't deny all that is making me itch for some action..."

Sumire smiled looking at Kingsley's arrangement as she tilted her head in thought as she could tell he loved the color pink. Such an odd man to have such a love for a vibrant female like color. It was then he spoke his last name " Hm Farebrothers huh? I personally never needed to interact with the Farebrothers but I know my family, The Honoka, Has done some trading and business. I am Sumire Honoka, Eldest Daughter of the Honoka family and a seamstress of White Lotus imports and bouquet." She said with a smile "I would suggest cutting down on the amounts of flowers that are shades of pinks, I would also play on greens along with some pastel oranges, golds, and whites in my opinion if I was to make it" She said giving her insight of the arrangement.
[break][break]
She watched Jevi and Synthia leave as she turned towards aura listening to her story as she smiled nodding " That is very understandable. I always loved the arts even though I come from a family of seamstresses. regardless if i have song or sound magic, I will always sing and dance, play the flute or whatever I please when I feel the need." She said with a smile before watching Synthia and Jevi turned.
"Excellently done Synthia, it is simple but beautiful, just like the small witch that made it. as for you Jevi, I think it is nice for a first timer, cutting some of these a tiny bit smaller would help adjust the height, but over all well done." She spoke listening to aura and Jevi " While opinions are known of the stage, in my belief, as long as there is a bright smile somewhere within that crowd, then the performance is a good one in my book."She said lifting her arrangement from the table, moving to one of the display stands for others to view before cleaning her area with ease.
She smiled to the group as she put one hand over her other bowing " Thankyou all so much for the wonderful time today. I have enjoyed each and every interaction with you all. If anyone wishes to join or find me. I planned on watching the Manabeast that tend to be brought to these festivities every year to be petted."She spoke inviting whoever wished to remain with her for the festival as she turned to take her leave.
A first this item may seem like a simple thin, yet large golden ring that could be used as a bracelet, that is until each of the other pieces are connected. The first seems to be an elaborate hair comb whose teeth are made to sit inside the ring, this part of the hairpin is adorned with carefully crafted butterflies and flowers made of several different colours of jade. The flowers have small pearls in the centre while each of the butterfly's antennae is made from gold with a small piece of mother of pearl at the top. At the base of the comb section of the hairpin, there are three golden chains which start with three pearls, then three small gold charms, three more pearls, three small golden balls, and two butterflies on the outer chain while the centre is split into three additional chains. The centre has mother of pearl beads. Each of the five chains has a small carved pearl flower. To make sure the ring and comb stay in place the last piece of this elaborate hairpin is the pin itself which is made from gold that has a pearl at the top with two splintering golden chains that have the same small carved pearl flowers.[break]
History:[break]
The history of this hairpin has been a long one, in fact, it has been around for so long and had so many owners that the adornments and chains had once been broken, chipped or lost. The origins of the hairpin weren't anything significant, a man met a woman, the man fell in love with that woman and wanted to show his devotion to her and so made a token of his love. It was something that was given to the firstborn son of the Yinsil family at their coming of age so they may give it to their betrothed when he felt the pang of love for her. By the time it had gotten to Enlil, it was nothing more than a husk of its former self and so through painstaking love and attention to detail he removed each of the old adornments making them into new pieces of jewellery for his mother and sisters before crafting brand new ones for the woman that would one day be his wife. It had taken him years to get the hairpin in such a state that he found it aesthetically pleasing to look at and that his future wife would feel honoured to wear it to show their bond of love.

Aura listened to how Jevi responded to her small instance of snapping on him. She stayed silent, a small frown crossing her features as he spoke. "If even one person remembers that's all we need. It's not like commoners are generally remembered unless we make a name for ourselves as Magic Knights or manage to somehow become a big merchant family." She looked off to the side, grumbling a few inaudible words. It really was unfair that her mother was going to be forgotten one day just because of what she was born as. The idea that no one would have remembered her performances rubbed her the very wrong way.
With that said she placed the final piece gently into her bouquet, a smile gracing her features instead as she observed the organized arrangement. It was all she needed to give her mother something more, a different kind of send off outside of her own wallowing. It had been years, she needed to move on but never forget and this was one of the ways she was doing so. She placed her hands on her hip, very happy with how she had finished the arrangement. She looked towards Sumire as she spoke up, saying she was going to continue on to another event. Aura paused in thought for a moment, looking down at her bouquet before moving to catch up with the blue eyed girl.
"I'll join you. I've always enjoyed being around a fellow performer." She offered the girl a soft smile. She was always a lot more open with other performers, be they nobles or a commoner like herself.

As Jevi teased Synthia a little bit, he couldn’t help but chuckle when she told him to shut up as it wasn’t that simple. He shook his head as she blushed and pulled her hat over her face to hide it from him. To comfort her some more, he reached out his hand and patted her on her back as he spoke in a soft tone laced with gentle care. “It is, though. Accept your wants and needs, you’ll be better for it.” That was a lesson Jevi had learned after leaving his family behind and traveling on his own. He might not have had the luxury he was used to for the past couple years, but he was so much happier following his own path and accepting himself for who he was, rather than trying to be who his father wanted him to be. That whole ‘better-than-thou’ attitude simply didn’t work for him, and he wanted to be of use to the world around him as to not waste the gift of life and his magic. If only Synthia could start accepting who she was too instead of putting up this façade of being strong and tough.
[break][break]
While Jevi finished up his flower arrangement, he responded to Kingsley about having more magic than his family as he was in a similar position. As for Sumire, he asked her for her opinion when he finally was done with arranging the flowers how he wanted them to. She gave him some advice, telling him it would have been better if he had made sure the height of the flowers were more equal. Jevi smiled, looking at his flower arrangement. “I actually did that on purpose, because this white lily is the most important, so I wanted it to stick out literally and figuratively.” It represented his mother, after all, the only family member he dearly missed. Every day he hoped she was doing alright. One day he would return home with his head held high, but for now he’d focus on the nearby future as a magic knight. He had to improve, and he had to do so quickly in order to make up for the years he had missed compared to others who joined when they were younger.
[break][break]
From there a conversation about the arts commenced as Aura revealed she was a performer. Jevi tried to make her feel more at ease with the group as a whole, speaking up about how it was incredible that performances could have such lasting impressions on people. Synthia agreed at first, trying to tell him that martial arts were also a performance to which Jevi agreed. The witch used his nickname again, having gotten defensive for no reason, before Jevi focused back on Aura’s words. To her it was by design that performances were memorable, so it wasn’t fascinating at all. While Jevi understood and agreed that this is what they were set out to do, they still needed to succeed in order to reach that goal. When they didn’t, much like he himself, the creator would only feel disappointment. Obviously Jevi hid the true meaning behind his words, not wanting to divulge such personal information to anyone. Only Synthia knew he had left his family behind, and she knew the bare basics at that.
[break][break]
It seemed like Jevi had hit a sensitive string with Aura so-to-speak, as she told him with a frown that only one person had to remember for it to be a success. She made a mention of how commoners weren’t remembered unless they made a name for themselves as magic knights or somehow became a big merchant family, which was a sad reality. Even as a noble, Jevi didn’t like it any more than Aura did, but in this instance things did start to click for the elf who was quite socially proficient. Aura was on edge around him due to his noble background. Still, she had spoken back to him and given her opinion, which meant somewhere deep down she could tell he wasn’t like some of the other nobles who placed too much importance in their bloodlines. Even Sumire joined in by saying only one smile was needed for a performance to be a success, and Jevi nodded to both the blondes in agreement. “You are both correct. My apologies for speaking out of turn.” It was not his place as a noble and non-performer to pretend like he knew anything about the scene other than watching the shows they put on, so he’d let it rest there.
[break][break]
Sumire offered for them all to join her to another part of the flower fete now that all of their flower arrangements had been finished up. Jevi wondered if he should join, seeing Aura was eager to stick with Sumire. Was it really okay for him to tag along when he made Aura feel so uncomfortable? He didn’t want to ruin this festival for her, though he had also enjoyed the company of Sumire. The young elf turned to Synthia before making a decision. “What do you think? Are we going to tag along and see the mana beasts?” If Synthia wanted to stick to this group, he’d join them all and thank Sumire for the offer. If things would turn out to be unbearable for Aura he could always leave them to their own devices.
[attr="class","Syn1image"]❝With a Singular Strike~❞
[attr="class","Syn1scroll"]
Synthia pouted even more when Jevi put his hand over her back, though this time much more of a playful pout as she lightly punched Jevi's shoulder, a soft smile entering her lips as she heard him talk about being more true to herself. She already was though, she just hated showing her softer sides when it came down to it. Things were just so boring when she was girly and cutesy, she wanted to just fight. If things were boring all the time, what would she be left with? Maybe it was a facade, maybe it wasn't but she just let him talk it out, as she chuckled at his words.
"Enough with the sappy stuff Snowy, you know I'll be fine, I always am."
She was still as boisterous as ever, and nothing was going to stop her. But enough of that as the others as well as Synthia finally finished up their arrangements, fixing things up and making them ready for display and such... And with that, it seemed that things had come to the point that they were ready to move on, though Synthia couldn't help but be happy with her current arrangement. It looked nice enough.
There were compliments all across as Sumire, Jevi, and Aura all talked more about Performances and such... It seemed Jevi had struck a nerve with the other girl, as he quickly started apologizing and such when he realized that, yes, as the two blonde haired girls departed and started heading their ways. Jevi, soon after followed, asking Synthia if they were going to join, and having nothing else that came to mind, no real goal in mind for that day except just enjoying the festivities, Synthia shrugged, before getting up and stretching, following after Jevi with a puff of her chest as she let out an exhale.
"Yeah, yeah, don't get so impatient Snowy, I'll come with. Not like I've got anywhere else to be."
She leaned over on his shoulder, and punched it again, grinning all the way.
"Besides, from what I'm hearing, I need to stick around so you don't dig yourself a deeper hole ya dork."
She would wave, following after Sumire and Aura as she ran after them, giggling just a bit.

Kingsley Farebrother
He who fears not the blade he wields has no right to wield that blade.
Consumed by thought about the freshly cut flowers, Kingsley leaned in close and began examining the textures and specific attributes each flower had, forming a mind map about their final location in an interweaving pattern. Though it was most decidedly not cloth work, the Farebrother family's tailoring techniques imparted on him still helped in the decision making, remembering specific guidelines for filling a blank space yet not making it too crowded either. As he began to work, he saw the other mages too, each showing their full personality even just from the little mannerisms they performed while arranging. Wordlessly, they showed much of their selves to one another, strengthened by the conversations that drifted from casual to heavy.
The experienced flower arranger had heard Kingsley's name, and though her regal bearing rarely shifted, she had expressed what Kingsley had come to understand was recognition on her face. The Purple Orca listened to her give her full name and family company, and began to sift through memories of logos and ledgers, settling on a large white lotus motif that matched her description. The White Lotus company had major import contracts across the nation of Clover, enshrining their claims of nobility from foreign lands through economic contributions. Certainly a far cry from the struggling Farebrother shop, who had already peaked and now squatted in the Common Realm, unable to afford the rent of their Capital City shop.
Kingsley couldn't help but feel a twinge of envy at her family's success, and filed the humbling experience away for self-loathing later. Sumire was kind despite her background, so it wouldn't be right to lash out at her, intentionally or otherwise. Sincere advice was all she offered, not judgement or sabotage. Shades of pink were drowning his arrangement, and resulted in unwanted blending of the flower's textures. Substituting them for their green and orange counterparts allowed for greater contrast, enrichening the experience of the beholder.
Each person at the table took advantage of the knowledgeable resources sitting next to them, improving their arrangements in subtle ways. Transferring the bouquets to the completion area, the group began to talk of the other festival attractions. It seemed the others had a serious interest in witnessing the Mana Beasts, but Kingsley began to remember the smell of the Mana Beast studio and shook his head in response. "Actually guys I'm feeling quite peckish. I believe I overheard someone saying something about 'all you can eat'?" The Purple Orca's eyes scanned the perimeter of the festival, attempting to locate the food area. Normally he would rely on smell, but the overpowering aroma of the flora drowned out any other scents. Kingsley waved at the other mages, wishing them well until he sees them again.
Kingsley had a great time with his new friends, but was in the mood for some good food. The thought of 'all you can eat' has overtaken him. Moving to: Fare Weather Foods
