[nospaces] Pangu watched as the minotaur described and then showed off the capabilities of his weapon. It made him glad that the fight stopped when it had or else the group would have been made into a paste. He doubted that anything would be able to survive a direct hit from it if what had occurred before was an accident like Vael said. [break][break] “Alignment is subjective. While you may serve a master and you owe your allegiance to him you are neutral to us if what you say about your weapon is true. You haven't made any attempts to help or hinder us in any significant way. You've merely laid out the rules and given us a chance to amend our mistakes. Like a referee.” Pangu chuckled to himself at the thought of the large beast in a black and white striped jersey. [break][break] Pangu just sat quietly as Hinota went through her speech. She said many moving words and made grand gestures. It's too bad that it ultimately amounted to little more than Seren's apology. Although it was nice to hear her say she was sorry for her words, they still stung. He could understand the struggle of adjusting to a different culture, however. He was sure his family encountered the same difficulties when they first came to this land. [break][break] Pangu himself felt it to some extent as well since he had to learn the customs of both Clover and Wuxia. What may be acceptable in public may not be in front of his extended family and doing the wrong thing may insult others. Who would have thought that he'd find some sort of kinship with the boisterous witch? [break][break] As the dwarf watched the doors open for the group Pangu wondered if Seren realized the full extent of the bargain she struck with Vael and his master. He wondered if he did. In any case, they wouldn't get their answers for some time now and there were more pressing matters at hand. [break][break] Pangu bowed and thanked Vael for his time before moving towards the doors near the front of the group. [break][break] WC: 351 | TWC: 6748 [break][break]

Hinota listened to the guardian when he said that many within the desert didn't really get sick or thirsty, she had to take such a thing as a pinch of salt, she understood that those within the temple likely didn't due to the blessings of the god they served but normal citizens of the desert wouldn't have such protections so it wasn't a full truth in her mind but she remained quiet on the matter as she didn't want to insult him any further than her words may have already done. She looked to the guardian as he took some of the rock candy and pickle juice from Seren to try, she was curious about how he would take such flavours and after a few moments, it would seem as if her queries would be answered.
"The flavour is lemon, pronounced leh muhn." she helped him with the pronunciation, she wasn't trying to be disrespectful but did notice that he was having some difficulty either with remembering what the flavour was called or the pronunciation "Normally it is quite sour when you have the fruit right from the tree, but with a good amount of sugar to counter the tartness you get the sweetness you are currently tasting, you can even make a drink with it." she said her gaze once more turning to Seren "Perhaps on your next visit here you should bring some lemonade for the guardian to try." she said with a weak smile.
Her attention was once again switched to the guardian as he spoke to Pangu about what his weapon was and how it worked, she found it fascinating as she had no idea that such things were possible but then again why would she. She blinked silently as he said it wasn't his intention to hurt anyone within the group but merely intimidate, to be honest, she was quite sure just the sight of him would be enough to do that. Not that he was anything horrible to behold but his sheer size would be enough for anyone to back off, well that was until she remembered how Seren, Pangu and Saki had all reacted towards what had happened but then again at that point he was seen as a threat to their survival so she guessed their reaction was warranted in that instance. She watched as the guardian showed that his weapon seemed to have a mind of its own if it wasn't handled correctly, she was pretty sure her father thought the same of her mother so that brought a smile to her as she did miss her parents but since the aftermath of her joining her squad she hadn't really had interactions with them and for good reason, she was actually scared of her parents but still held onto the good memories while trying to forget that one horrible one but whenever she got to close to home she would shake and change her mind to enter the family estate once more.
"Head of the council?" this seemed to confuse the doll-like mage but she wouldn't hang on it too much as she saw the smirk on his face in regards to what she had said. It was true she was still very young and didn't have as much experience or understanding of someone who may have been around for hundreds of years, but, she had made her own observations from what she had seen daily and from what she had read in books; it was why she had said there were rarities to those who didn't seem to want to change or evolve. She understood that she may have stepped out of line with her words and would do better to grow from the experience as to not make unfounded assumptions upon people.
She looked to Seren as she had was spoken to and shook her head "It's not brave Seren..." she whispered to the other "Material objects mean little to me if I can help another or even save a life, giving something up after all items can be replaced life can not." her voice not getting any louder, she knew the truth of the terrible things she could do but refused that part of her, she didn't ever want to get to that potential. Hurting, suffering, pain, death... no, she never wanted to do any of that she was happy on the path of a pacifist and she would remain that way for as long as she could. "Seren, I can understand your plight in a way. Where I was raised in the Clover Kingdom my entire life I was raised with the values and traditions of my father's homeland which is across the seas, trying to blend the two doesn't work well at the times so it can be very much trial and error due to it." she knew it wasn't the exact same thing but she could empathise on some level with the witch.
"My captain is a fair man and though I am aware my actions here today will be met with punishment, it will be nothing compared to the guilt I will keep for the rest of my life." she said sadly knowing it was the truth of the matter, it was more than just a mantle or a gift to her but there was little she could do now to change things. It was at that point the petals vanished and the strawberry scent faded with them though the dull coffee smell would still be in the air as she knew she needed a little longer to heal the damage to her mana shield.
As the obsidian doors opened and the guardian said that his master would see them now she bowed to him for a long moment before standing up and looking around "Where's Saki?" she couldn't help but ask noticing the green mantis mage has seemingly gone quiet since the guardian's surprise intimidation attack on the group. As the others moved into the next room she would follow cautiously moving forward as she had no idea what they should expect as they continued.

Saki grunted painfully as the Minotaur's bovine hoof struck true, the blow thankfully lessened to nothing by way of her magic. Still, the force that stuck her carried her a fair distance, forcing Saki into a roll when she landed so as to not do anymore damage. She growled, ready to attack once more only to read the room a little differently than before. It didn't appear like she was doing much damage to the beast, considering it still stood strong and totally unfazed - no, perhaps simply annoyed by - her attack. What's more is that it took to seemingly scolding the party.
That irritated her more than the nonchalance it had when it was struck in the back by her boot. That damned thing struck first, what with it's goddamned entrance. Before she could open her mouth to state that fact, one of her comrades spoke up about it first, causing her to curse internally. What's worse was that it seemed oddly apologetic. It was as if it apparently didn't know its own strength and didn't get out much. That...was irritating. Was it some kind of hikkomori minotaur? The thought was laughable but the power behind his attack wasn't. A short conversation later between Seren and the Minotaur eventually appeased the beast, Saki herself leaning against one of the support pillars in silence while it went on.
It really was a hikkomori monster. It didn't even know what a lemon was- though that little fact might've been because lemons didn't grow within the desert. Did lemons grow in the desert? Might be a question for a later time. Apparently Seren had finally managed to appease the 'master' of the temple, which Saki was beginning to wonder if the asshole was really dead. How recent was this thing? Was there magic that could help you live a long time? That might be something to try and achieve, if so.
Eventually, the black obsidian doors on the other side of the room began to slowly pull open, the hikkomori minotaur motioning them to enter. As the group began to travel through the doorway, she took the time to throw up a peace sign. "I'd say sorry about the kick, but it clearly didn't phase you much." Was as far as an apology as she gave.
Vael was amused at the change of attitude he received from the witch. So they both liked explosions, huh? How quaint. She was also clearly very ready to serve his Master without actually meeting him, and thus…he would remain silent for the time being. This could go incredibly interesting. He nodded silently when Seren said she would return with something else interesting for him to sample. Perhaps she was better than her initial impression. [break][break] The blond boy without a mantle was interesting in his philosophical way of thinking. He could think of a very particular member of the council that would like him, and a very particular one that wouldn’t at all. [break][break] “I cannot argue with the manner of perspective that you’ve applied, weird one. It isn’t incorrect.” [break][break] The Minotaur would watch the other interactions go by silently, but give his full attention to Hinota when she tried to teach him of the proper pronounciation of lemon. She would succeed for the most part, and even give him some lore of the curious sour substance. [break][break] When the doors started opening, and the Green Mantis gave a quick apology to Duke Vael, making him chuckle and wave it off. “You’ve done nothing wrong, don’t worry.” The Duke motioned for the party to enter the next chamber, before vanishing back into the ceiling with a quiet jump as they proceeded. His mind was still on lemons. Interesting flavor. Much sour. A lot of wow for the bovine. [break][break] A wave of heat swept over the party…dry heat that made talking hard. It felt as if they had sand in the back of their throats. If they tried to without drinking water, they’d choke a little and cough first. A red glow comes from behind the two doors as a huge chamber of stone and magma reveals itself before them, a room so swelteringly hot that no human is capable of standing it for too long. The ground is carved with vague ancient runes, larger than a person each. It almost seems that they glisten as the party walks over them. [break][break] The heavy metal doors slam shut behind the party, locking them inside of this cavern of molten rock that seems to flood one side of the room from the side of a giant carved statue of a dragon’s head. Huge curved spikes of stone jut up from the ground, left and right of the party in pairs. One can count about four pairs from where the group has entered the room, to the last two being partially submerged in the lava in the other side of the room. [break][break]
[break][break]
The room is deathly silent. The only sound is the faint moving of hot magma in the room. Then a magical presence seems to flare up on top of one of the curved spies of stone. The another…and another…about seem different magical signatures and essences grace the party’s sensory and ki. The lava and magma moving about do not seem to be able to light up more than the bare outline of whoever is on the peaks of these weird spikes. Most of them look Human, one of these signatures belongs clearly to, who you now know to be, Duke Vael. At the very end of the hall, inside of a pool of magma sits a giant, almost black creature who is watching the party as they enter. The silence is absolute, as the party of adventurers can feel the gazes of all of members of this room upon their bodies, judging them. [break][break] “Son…I’m glad to see you’ve made it home.” A powerful voice rang over the chamber, shaking the ground beneath everyone’s feet in its strength. The figures on the spikes seemed unbothered by it. [break][break] “Thanks, it was more trouble than it was worth, frankly.” A pair of footsteps hung through the air as Toby stepped forwards, sighing loudly as he proceeded away from the party, towards the other end of the chamber. His pale human skin darkened and bubbled before breaking apart into crimson red scales. His glasses melted over his skin and blended into it before turning into a long set of horns. His small chin elongated into a long stood a large red maw, with teeth about the size of a land shark each. A pair of large leathery red wings spread out from the back as young Toby, was no more. “I don’t know why humans and witches fascinate you, they’re quite weak and boring in reality.” A loud voice rumbled through the air as a large red dragon now stood in the place of the young boy, turning to look at the adventurers scornfully. His golden eyes glistened with something akin to distaste. [break][break]
[break][break]
“Look at them, weak little creatures, they’re useless without their magic. They can’t even fly!” The voice spread through the room like the sound of thunder, making most members of the party jump without realizing. It was sudden. Uncalled for. Terrifying. [break][break] “I beg to differ, the adaptability of such creatures is what makes them strong, Beliath, you shouldn’t underestimate the small ones.” The larger dragon at the end of the room seemed to dip his head low to the party in a sign of greetings. He was very much unlike the red one standing closer to you (the one Toby turned into, called Beliath). [break][break] “Mages of Clover…I, Tchazzar, The Jaws of Fire, Lord of this Temple and King of the Desert and Ruler of the Court of Flames, thank you for accompanying my son in this adventure. You’ve given me a lot of insight into the mind of the modern wizard of the world through him…however I do not believe I quite know what the full Capabilities of human wizard have reached over the past centuries…” [break][break] The ancient dragon’s red eyes glanced between his son and the party. He was silent for a second, before Beliath let out loud growl. [break][break] “Fight me you measley wretches. Let me prove to my father exactly how weak and unworthy your kind is!” [break][break]

A mode of transport as well as a last line of defense in emergencies.
Striking or ramming with this golem will attempt a knock-back effect of 4 (+ 5 for every 10 power) meters the golem possesses.

Name of Spell: Fairy Compact Elemental Type: Ethereal (Oddity- Explosion) Rank & Spell Type: Intermediate & Healing + Attack Range & Speed: Aoe- 40m Cast Range, 1m diameter orbit ring, 40m range & 1m diameter Counter Beam, 25 m/s Mana Cost: 20, 10 (sustained) Stats Effected: Power Buff (+4) Applicable Perks: Quickshot, Area of Triumph, Archangel's Blessing, Elemental Oddity- Explosion Description:
Grimoire flashing with a mysterious glow, Seren emits a sparkling ring of ether inscribed with rotating alien 'fairy runes' flowing in opposite directions. The inner half rotates left, and the outer half rotates right. While the ring orbits its target, these runes will provide a number of effects.
This spell provides Seren (and only Seren) with a Junior rank buff to Power (+4).
Targets enveloped by the spell will heal one intermediate health level per post. This spell is also capable of potentially cleansing debuffs based off of Seren's control. If applied for three posts, this spell can grow back small digits on a person.
This spell also provides an "interception fire" effect. When those enveloped by these runes are attacked, the spell will provide an interception counter in the form of an ethereal spiral of runes capable of clashing with incoming damage. If the originator of the attack is in range and the clash succeeds per normal attack rules, then the attack may carry on and potentially deal up to intermediate rank damage to the attacker. This spell may only make 1 + 1 Counterattack for every 30 control Seren possesses.
As an Ethereal Spell, each target affected will lose 5 mana which will be granted to the caster. Each target may only be affected by this spell's drain once per round. (In the case of this spell, this effect is optional)
Ethereal Spells have the unique power to bypass any objects or structures in their path, though the spell drops a tier in overall power and strength. This can be thwarted by spells whose power or durability stat (depending on the spell in its path) is +5 than the user of this magic’s power stat. These spells cannot bypass structures or creations that are of higher rank than the spell itself.
Seren may create 1 additional Fairy Compact for every 30 control she possesses.
Seren may also sculpt the counter attack to avoid affecting 1 + 1 additional targets for every 30 control she possesses. This will cause the spell to lose 20 Power.

Name of Spell: Ether Spark Elemental Type: Ethereal (Oddity- Explosion) Rank & Spell Type: Intermediate, Attack Range & Speed: 70m, 25 m/s Mana Cost: 20, 10 (sustained) Stats Effected: n/a Applicable Perks: Quickshot, Skilled Sniper (x3) Description:
Grimoire flashing with a mysterious glow, Seren brings forth a dazzling spark of Ether which she can fire at a target. The spark, upon acceleration, will form a soda can thick streak of energy before breaking into nothingness on impact. Sustaining this spell produces additional Ether Sparks per round. To reaffect a target, Seren must fire at it again.
Targets struck by the spell will suffer intermediate rank damage.
As an Ethereal Spell, each target hit will lose 5 mana which will be granted to the caster. Each target may only be affected by this spell's drain once per round.
Ethereal Spells have the unique power to bypass any objects or structures in their path, though the spell drops a tier in overall power and strength. This can be thwarted by spells whose power or durability stat (depending on the spell in its path) is +5 than the user of this magic’s power stat. “Nihaha~ so I was right~ you did have a hidden history~ niho~ but the dragon thing~~~ ah~~~ I wasn’t expecting that very much~ niho~ you... you... got me there...~”
Seren’s eyes wandered all the way up the great length of the dragon formerly known as Toby. Between that and the papa dragon voice, Seren couldn’t help but make a face. This dragon seemed to be rearing for a fight. Maybe it was even already coming at them from its position next to them...
“Uhmo~ *cough*~ ah dry throat~ niho *cough*”
Speaking in this room was hard on account of the heat, so taking a large swig of pickle juice, Seren created some distance from herself and dragon Toby and did her best to speak up.
“Uhm~ Lord Tchazzar~ is this really okay~ Niho~?”
She asked the dragon ruler while pointing at his son.
“Niho~~It goes without saying but I for one am an advocate for peace~”
Taking another deep swig to clear her throat, Seren turned to Beliath.
“~And what makes you covet strength so much~ Niho~ there’s far more valuable things than that~ Niho~ if anything~ the presence of the weak is a good sign of a healthy kingdom~ niho~ because all things being equal~ where the weak are permitted there is a sign of peaceful nation~ strength without purpose is just wasted purpose~ niho~ it’d be better to cultivate wisdom~ maybe to write something or till the soil~”
Seren tilted her head.
“Also~ Witches and magic are one in the same~ of course I am close to it~ you lost me on that point as well~ Niho~ ~What’s wrong with magic~? Or am I wrong about something~?”
Seren sighed as her grimoire opened.
“Either way~ Niho~ Just as I endeavored to protect you~ I will not allow you to harm my friends~ this I swear on the pride of my culture~”
Seren’s hand flourished.
“Ether Cannon Magic~ Fairy’s Compact~ and Ether Spark~ as well~ Niho~”
Combat Summery: 1) Move away and to the left of Beliath. 2) Fairy Compact placed on Saki and Pangu. 3) Ether Spark prepped to fire based on Beliath's actions.

[nospaces] Pangu chuckled as he listened to the porcelain mage attempt to teach the large gatekeeper how to correctly pronounce the word lemon, as well as the other interactions. Under other circumstances, he could see having a prolonged conversation with Vael. It's too bad that they were here on a job. Perhaps another time. [break][break] Pangu said goodbye to Vael before entering the next room with the rest of the party. What happened next was a sequence of events that only the most paranoid or delusional of people would have been able to predict. The dwarf wouldn't have believed it if he hadn't seen it happen before his very eyes. Who would have thought that one day he'd live to see an actual dragon? [break][break] However, the sight before him was bittersweet once he came upon the realization that the being he once knew as Toby had betrayed the trust of the party. To him, it seemed as if the group was nothing more than a game for the father and to the son, they were nothing more than an escort quest. Pangu grit his teeth to prevent himself from saying anything out of turn. They'd made it this far and he'd be damned if the reason they failed was because of him opening his mouth. [break][break] Seeing as how the younger of the dragons had challenged the group and Seren began to prepare for battle Pangu assumed it best he did the same. Even if a fight didn't break out right off it was better to be safe than sorry. If Beliath thought he was just going to lie down and die after being so blatantly disrespected he had another thing coming. [break][break] Besides the words required to cast his Sun Wukong Spell Pangu said nothing. On the off chance that a fight didn't occur, he didn't want to risk offending the dragons in some way with his words. [break][break] WC: 315 | TWC: 7063 [break][break]

Stepping into the next room, Saki was immediately blasted with a wave of heat. It reminded her of that goddamned desert outside, with the heat even more direct. As she took another swig of her drink, holding it in her mouth to liquefy the dryness, Saki briefly made a mental note to invest in clothing made specifically to counter environmental conditions via magic, because she'd be damned if she wasn't going to avoid this kind of thing in the future. Saki noticed the room itself to be massive, blinking a couple of times to re-hydrate her eyes from staring at the magma, eying down the aesthetics. It was all black obsidian and fire. This guy, whoever he was, had to be evil.
If he wasn't, he was leaning way too hard into the whole 'fire' theme. It was likely the former, however, what with the dumb puzzles that had to be solved. The guy had to be some kind of evil overlord. Or a noble. Not that the two weren't the same thing.
At least this one had a little bit of presentation going on, Saki admitted.
She'd almost missed the whole oppressive magical power surrounding her and the party while she was staring at the statues, jumping almost out of her boots at the booming voice that greeted what she assumed was the party; shifting her weight into a more stabilizing stance as the earth shook around her. Spirits above and below, what was this guy? A fuckin' dragon? What was with the whole booming voice shtick? Was she right on the money with the whole evil overlord thing?
An answer was given mere seconds later, when that little brat of all things, stepped forward and greeted this evil overlord dude like a son. She watched as the human skin the kid was wearing morphed into a darker black...then scales as his shaped shifted and grew in mass... all the way into the form of a full on dragon. Saki stared at the scene with rapt attention, on the dividing line between being fucking pissed - she could have fought those scary monster bastards just fine with a fuckin' dragon on her side - and being awestruck. It was an honest to god dragon. She marveled at the sight. It was massive. It was a real fuckin' dragon.
She didn't even notice its scorn, but when it decided to charge, shaking her out of her reverie, a new kind of excitement bubbled up inside of her. We're the gods listening to her pleas? This was amazing! Not only was she able to see a real, honest to the gods dragon...
She'd be able to kick it's fuckin' ass, too.
"Alright! This is what I'm fuckin' talking about!" Saki shouted with excitement, Lightning blazing to life around her with an intensity, pulling out all of the stops for a fight like this. Blitz Drive. She needed to be faster, and lightning crackled around her legs. Strike Impulse. She needed to hit hard, so lightning crackled around her hands and feet. Flow Defense. She needed to take a hit, so glowing blue lines of energy coursed through her body, making her eyes glow from a dull brown to a glowing, electric blue.
"Let's fucking go!" Saki roared, charging down the giant beast herself. She was vaguely aware of some of her allies moves, in that Pangu only decided to guard and Seren popped a few spells of her own - one of which she was feeling the effects of right at the moment - but where Seren went left, Saki went right, rushing in with a low stance and looking to rumble up close with the giant beast with an attack of her own.
Name of Spell: Blitz Drive Elemental Type: Lightning Rank & Spell Type: Intermediate / Physical Reinforcement Range & Speed: Self | N/A Mana Cost: 20 / 10 Stats Effected: Reaction Time / Speed Applicable Perks: Full Blitz Description: Saki's body crackles with energy, glowing a slight blue as mana lines appear around her body. This spell speeds up her speed and reflexes, allowing her to dodge and outmaneuver some spells and close the gap between her and her opponents. This buff increases her speed and reaction time by 10 m/s, allowing her to close the distance fairly easily, as well as dodge some of the more agile spells.
Name of Spell: Strike Impulse II Elemental Type: Lightning Rank & Spell Type: Intermediate / Physical Reinforcement Range & Speed: Self | N/A Mana Cost: 20 / 10 Stats Effected: Strength Applicable Perks: N/a Description: Lightning pulses through Saki's legs and arms as errant sparks fly off of her body. This spell increases the strength of her physical damage to Intermediate Rank, dealing that rank of damage every time she lands a blow. This follows the normal spell and PR rules and can stack with Strength perks by 1.5 times. Damage dealt this way causes dark bruises and a painful shock when struck.
Name of Spell: Flow Defense II Elemental Type: Lightning Rank & Spell Type: Intermediate / Physical Reinforcement Range & Speed: Self | N/A Mana Cost: 20 / 10 Stats Effected: Endurance Applicable Perks: Close Combat Expert Description: Crackling energy courses beneath Saki's skin, covering her in odd glowing blue lines that glow brighter when struck; a hum of energy being heard when the spell is activated. This spell doesn't do much beyond increasing her physical endurance, allowing her to shrug off a single rank of Intermediate Ranked damage per post that this spell is activated, so long as her Durability holds up against her opponent's Power stat.
Combat Summary:
- Popped Saki's 3 Int Spells - Went Right towards Dragon - Intermediate Kick to the largest part she can strike.

The doll-like mage smiled as she seemed to help the guardian with his pronunciation and give him a bit of knowledge on the fruit, it actually made her feel better about being on this adventure. She, of course, had met some interesting people; some she would want to spend more time with others but she knew everyone had their unique personalities and they likely had similar thoughts about the entire situation and who they ended up meeting along the way. She thought about everything that had passed from the moment she reached the agreed meeting point till when they met the guardian, she was still unsure about her continued path as a magic knight believing that her brother and family were right. That she should just settle down and be married given how her emotions fluctuated even with her captain's help she worried about what would happen if she saw something being killed. She was scared of that raw, dormant power that almost bubbled to the top when the land sharks were killed. The nightmare-inducing howls of those monsters that were down the other path they had almost taken due to Saki's want to fight and Seren's need to fulfil a mission no one else knew of.
Then there was the trial of humility that caught Pangu off guard and the trial of sacrifice that had ended with failure because an offering wasn't deemed worthy enough to the master of the temple so got blasted back by the guardian as he and his Morningstar landed hero style. She really wasn't having a good time of things and something told her it was only going to go from bad to worse though tried to put that down more on paranoia of how everything had been going thus far. She looked over the rest of the team lowering the spell she had been using to repair her mana shield knowing it was recharged, the smell of coffee disappearing almost instantly. She could only imagine how bad that would have been when the sweltering heat hit the group as the obsidian door opened fully. As she was hit with the wave of heat her eyes closed as to protect them from going dry though the same couldn't be said for her mouth and throat. Taking out a bamboo flask she took a few swigs of water and held out others for Pangu and Toby as it seemed as if Saki and Seren had themselves covered in that aspect. She was now having to wonder if she was inside a desert still or a volcano though she would rather neither as it was going to be hell for her hair and skin.
When the entire group had entered the antechamber of the temple the large obsidian doors seem to slam shut preventing escape, the loud noise did make the doll-like mage jump and turn her head to look at how their only way of exiting had been closed and none of them would be able to shift them physically; she was unsure about their magical strength being able to do anything if they needed to escape. It was then she started to look round the room for any other ways that could be potential exits, she would likely be able to use her miasma as a way to find secret doors but this chamber was huge and that could take time they might not really have to waste. It was then that things seemed to take a turn none of the group would have been able to foresee coming, the master of the temple spoke directly to Toby calling him son. She was hit with a mix of feelings chief amongst them was betrayal, more so as how when he transformed he belittled the group. He looked to Seren for a moment and thought about the brief interaction when she had called herself his big sister, her feeling there was correct they didn't know about him or his family and this proved it but the disdain he seemed to have then came into clearer focus now. He hated their races.
She didn't care much in regards to his transformation, the culture of her family revered dragons as sacred beings that were wise but what she saw was one that wanted them here for his amusement and an antsy teen that hated what their father saw in their kind and pretty much wanted to obliterate them off the face of the planet. She had tried to support him in regards to their apparent dying business, their resentment towards their father, shared the same broom and even tried to protect the person that saw her and the others on this journey as less than the sand within the desert they had crossed to get here. If this was what she was what her family wanted her to worship she wanted nothing to do with it. Up until that point, she had remained quiet deep within her thoughts as she had no idea what to do and it was the same even now as she believed he had a bond with at least one or two of the group.
Her eyes looked between the two for a moment and seen how Pangu and Seren were getting ready for the worst but having seen them along the journey they would rather not fight where possible. Seren even said she would rather a peaceful solution, which seemed to go against what Saki was thinking as she activated three spells in quick succession and aimed for the dragon that was once their guide Toby. She wanted none of this violence, she was a pacifist... a healer... she knew death was part of life and things got injured along the way but she wasn't going to be part of the problem.
"I refuse to take part in the mindless act of violence because you have a distaste for me or the others that you travelled here with merely due to what fate or the gods had us born as nor to prove a point because you have daddy issues." She finally said looking directly into the eyes Beliath's molten gold ones she closed her eyes sighing "Everything I said to you along the way was sincere and even now is." her voice sounded hurt at the fact her trust had been betrayed "You've seen my magic, I have no attack magic and the one time it manifested scared me... I don't want to be part of the circle of violence... it's not in my heart or spirit to harm things." her tone showed that she didn't want to fight, she wanted a peaceful solution but hearing Saki's movements her eyes opened wide
"You gods damn blood-thirsty idiot!" she called out watching as the mage from the green mantis was the only one who actively attacked where everyone else was against it, to her this put the other three in a situation where they would need to back her up or she was going to die, it also gave strength to what Beliath had said about their weakness.
"Hate and pain begets more hatred and pain... a never-ending cycle..." she whispered to herself sadly a few tears falling only to dry quickly as they left her eyes due to the immense heat around them.

- Thought over the journey the good and bad things - Realised she likes some group members more than others - Deactivated brief reprieve - Looked over the room briefly when the doors closed behind them as to perhaps find another way out if needed - Felt betrayed by the revelation of Toby's true self and the distaste he held for anything, not like him - Put earlier conversations into clearer context - Took note that though ready for battle Pangu and Seren didn't make a move to instigate it - Refused herself to take part due to how she was sighting that the once Toby had seen her magic and knew it done no damage - Made it clear she didn't want to be used as a pawn due to daddy issues and her words to the then Toby then and even now held true and were sincere - Called out Saki for being the only one who openly attacked and thus putting the rest of the group in a bad spot
Tchazzar’s booming laugh filled the room and shook the whole temple, almost knocking the party off of their feet when Seren asked if it was okay for them to fight his son. Beliath’s scowl deepened as the annoying blond witch continued talking. Frankly he was barely resisting smacking her straight across the face with his giant spiky red tail, but she’d sword herself to his father, so he had to resist doing that. [break][break]
“It would seem that my new witch soldier understands more about ruling an empire than you do, Beliath, have I truly stooped so low as a father?” Tchazzar memed on his son unabashedly, even giving the Blue Rose a large toothy grin, earning a low growl from his son. The older dragon then responded to Seren’s question, retailing a more serious stance before laying down fully within the lava of his room. “But you must understand, child, that there is always a purpose behind the strength of this court. Everything that is written within the harsh and unforgiving land can be gone the day after. The desert is a dangerous place. It can swallow armies, empires and bury even the strongest emotions and wizards without a trace.” [break][break]
Saki’s excitement didn’t faze Beliath, who shared her desperate need for a fight. He’d have to keep to his father’s plan this whole time, when he’d just been itching to devour those stupid land sharks and mutts from earlier. He’d actually surprised himself in not snapping at his ex-party members, especially at Seren, who was growing to become even more of a pain in the ass than what he’d expected. This was who was going to be serving them from the new generation? Someone please, fucking bury me alive in sand. The sarcasm was about as hot as the skin of the dragon itself. [break][break]
Hinota’s refusal to fight didn’t matter to Beliath, who was ready to sweep the floor with all of the adventurers that had walked in with him, but it did matter to Tchazzar, who found himself surprisingly annoyed at this development. This noble didn’t want to oblige to his request. He wanted the knowledge to see how wizards had developed in combat, but this one didn’t want to provide. She believed her own words. “Child, if you cannot deal with pain and hate then fight the way you know, with your healing and defensive magic. There is no right or wrong way to fight. Do it as you believe, but if you sit this out, you deny me the knowledge I wished to gather.” The elder dragon explained to the young mage, it was his second and last attempt to have her join in. [break][break]
Once his father’s words were uttered, Beliath would unfurl his black wings as he took damage from both Seren and Saki. His hot skin would burn Saki back upon impact for junior damage, and a sweep of hot air would spread over the room as the black wings on Beliath’s back swept through the room, his mana making it hard to breathe and attacking the adventurers head on. The mana beast would then use one of his large paws to swipe at Saki for intermediate damage. [break][break]

Quirk: FIRE FIRE FIRE! Upon unfurling his wings, the Incarnation of Power will make the heat in the room skyrocket even further, as his hot mana would attack the adventurers each round, dealing junior ticking fire damage.

You all start taking junior damage the moment you enter your round. Saki takes junior rank fire damage from landing her hit on Beliath.[break][break]

Hinota remained still listening to what was said to the others, she was so over this place and regretted the very moment she had agreed to come on this damned job. She tried to calm her mind so she could sort through the information being told to the others, she was just beyond irritated that it was taking her longer than it normally would. She could understand what the elder dragon was trying to get at or at least she thought she did at least in regards to strength within the court and the way the unforgiving land acted. She hated to admit the fact he had a point as royals and nobles worked the same way within reason, she hated that structure as well in all honesty as it meant there were political marriages and the likes to raise standings and then there was also influence and such that also looked at it was so complicated at times it made her head spin.
She closed her eyes as she tried to push things out of her mind that didn't pertain to the current situation 'Not even those who deem themselves strong are able to survive alone if they think they can then they will perish. There's a strength in structure and a strength in numbers.' she tried to concentrate on these words alone, words her mother told her when she was younger when she had been pushed by another noble 'In the harshest and most unforgiving situations you need to trust on those around you to protect you as they will do the same to you, I know you don't want to fight but one day you'll be put in a situation you won't be able to avoid it if you take the same path as your mother, myself and your brother... think carefully my precious lotus on the path you will choose in the future.' were words she remembered her father speaking to her during the shattering when she said she wanted to become a knight and help the kingdom.
Her eyes eventually opened her eyes a darker forest green than normal as she was spoken to and she looked to the elder dragon "I do this and survive, I get to take my mantle back this isn't up for debate..." she said unusually calmly given what was going on to the dragon who lay down within the lava. "You asked for an offering before you would even see us and I gave one of the two things I cherish the most, now here you are trying to take the second as I am now backed against a wall for your wish of knowledge." it was as simple as that to the young doll-like mage, he was forcing her to fight when she already said she wanted nothing to do with the fight or the cycle of pain, anguish, misery, hurt or death in honesty she felt little more than a pathetic excuse for a bandaid given the situation and if it was always going to be like this she would have rather have had her captain kill her when they were training for her sin against him and the kingdom. "You are taking away my free will in this instant as I am being forced to fight, so my choice not to is being removed and it is more than a fair trade for what I had offered previously." with that she moved onto her broom and headed as quickly as she possibly could to Seren.
"Seren, hop on..." she instructed with a warm smile acting as if the previous conversation with the elder dragon didn't happen, from the corner of her eye she saw Saki hit Beliath and winced with the temperature having risen the moment that the younger dragon had unfurled his wings making the area unbearable even with the clothing she was wearing. "Pangu might need your brooms in place of his staff, it will burn if he tries to use it against our current opponent." she explained why she was making her request of the other before taking off.
Whether Seren got on the broom or not her eyes gained a brown circle around the edge of her normal forest green eyes, the area around her would start to smell subtly of coffee touching her own wrist and her other hand on Seren's leaving a mark on both of them, she hoped this would at least help them not be to affected by the heat being caused by Beliath. She trusted that Seren's spell would keep the other safe so she could concentrate on what she might be needed to do next.
"Seren, do you have a way to contact the others without our enemy hearing?" she would ask the other with hopes but had a feeling she knew the answer which made the spell she wanted to use dangerous as she had yet to perfect it and thus would affect her allies to and right now fuck ups wouldn't and couldn't be tolerated given the enemy. She then had to wonder if the air was so dry over there if she would be able to use the spell anyway but it meant getting to close for comfort and again given Saki and Pangu were more melee fighters it could still affect them, why couldn't she have been born a water or wind mage.
Her eyes lightened a bit watered covered cloth would keep the miasma getting to them but it would dry to easily so there would be no way it wouldn't dissipate before she could cast the spell and end it, there had to be a way though she just needed to find it. "If you need me to take over the mundane healing Seren so you can concentrate on other things let me know, okay?" she let the other know though she had no idea if her petal dance would even work with how hot it was in here currently but if needed she sure as hell would make it work, she might not have wanted to be involved in the fight but she sure as hell wasn't about to be the weak link in the chain that was going to make them fail or perish, she wanted her mantle back after all.

Name of Spell: Brief Reprieve Elemental Type: Miasma Rank & Spell Type: Junior ¦ Healing Range & Speed: 25 meters ¦ 0 m/s Mana Cost: 10 ¦ 5 Stats Effected: n/a Applicable Perks: Elemental Oddity ¦ Archangel's Blessing Description: Hinota's eyes get a brown ring around her normal deep emerald eyes the air around her starts to smell subtly of coffee soon afterwards, unlike the unseen servant where she doesn't need to move this time she needs to touch the ones she want to be affected by the spell leaving a mark. This is to make sure this spell only reacts to the one(s) that she touches, to everyone else they wouldn't smell anything abnormal. Those with the mark find themselves slowly revitalised through the healing aspect of the spell which attempts to remove curses, hexes, poisons and venoms, if allies get close to someone with a mark they to get a faint mark allowing them to gain the benefits of the spell by using the ammo rules. This spell remains active until Hinota herself stops it or runs out of mana.
- Listened quietly to everything and realised that he had a point as court for nobles and royals are pretty much the same - Remembered advice given to her by her parents noted in italics father in red and mother in blue - Agrees to enter the battle but if she survives she will be taking her mantle on the way out since she is being forced to go against her wishes and so her freewill/choice being removed for her is a fair trade for the mantle. - Moves to Seren asking them to hop on her broom - Suggests that Seren give one of her broom Golems to Pangu because the contact will likely damage their own staff - Uses Brief Reprieve on herself and Seren before flying off with or without Seren on the broom - Asked Seren if she had a way to contact the others without others knowing - Wished she was born a water or wind mage - Hates the fact she was pushed into this situation but refuses to be the reason why they fail or die especially since she wanted her mantle back - Let Seren know if she was needed to take over the basic healing of the others due to heat she would do, though she has no idea if her petal dance spell will work
Name of Golem: Apropos: Broom, “Hollow Furnace” Spell Element: Ethereal (Oddity- Explosion) Spell Rank: Intermediate Mana Cost: 20, 10 (sustained) Type of Golem: Balanced Range and Speed: 40 meters, 20 m/s, 2 people 15 m/s (as transport) Health of Golem : Senior Applicable Perks: Lightfooted Golem Description:
Grimoire flashing with a mysterious glow, Seren conjures forth an odd broom-like golem composed of ethereal energy. Capable of emitting explosive thrusts to propel itself, Seren enjoys riding this broom around, zipping this way and that, while leaving trails of aurora in the sky. A mode of transport as well as a last line of defense in emergencies.
Striking or ramming with this golem will attempt a knock-back effect of 4 (+ 5 for every 10 power) meters the golem possesses.
Seren may create 1 additional golem for every 20 control she possesses. These additional golems will typically follow the original like train cars but may serve additional functions as needed

These spells cannot bypass structures or creations that are of higher rank than the spell itself.
Seren may create 1 additional Ether Spark for every 20 control she possesses.

“Humu Humu~ so this is a place of strength~ I look forward to learning much indeed niho~ well then~ time to get explodey~!”
Right then, Seren was buffeted by a load of hot air. No, not Beliath-----but rather the superheated air he generated.
“Nihaha~ow~! That’s hot~!”
The witch shielded herself with her arm as she felt her mana skin sizzle.
“Nihaha~ So that’s the way it’s gonna be huh~? Nihoooo~ you could’ve gone a little easy on me ya know~ as thanks for shielding you with my body from that awesome explody mace~”
Coughing, Seren did that thing japanese manga men do with their nose and thumb. Then, reaching into her pack she removed her pickle juice and slid the rest of across the floor, away from her, and hopefully out of burn’s reach. She sacrificed many goodies on this long journey but some yet remained. Precious provisions that, were she the king, would’ve allowed a party of good natured people immediate entrance to her chambers. Perhaps it would be a good idea for Tchazzar to refrain from assigning her any posts in the Chambers of Worthiness Department. The pickle juice, of course, was poured over her head making her hair sopping wet. Wow, much fresh.
Nihaha~ Now~~~~ how does that dragon slayer guy from the Crimson Lions always do this~ what was his nammmeee~ Niho~~~~ Mr. Ardere~? Isn’t he always talking about punching dragons and things~ niho~? ~He makes it seem pretty easy so maybe it isn’t so tough~ maybe if you know the method~ hmmmm~ If he was here I could just ask him~ Maybe something like this~? Niho~
Seren began shadow boxing om Beliath’s direction while trying to get a feel for things. Really she looked like a cat pawing at some yarn. Her concentration was broken when Hinota approached
Niho~ I am worthy~? Nihaha~ I am worthy~!
“Nihaha~ You’re really taking charge Hinny~ I like it~ don’t gotta ask me twice~ hopping on Niho~”
And so, Seren hopped on Hinota’s broom and sat in reverse to her, back to back, so she could play gunner.
“Nihaaaay~ Pangu~ hay hay~ heeeeere~ use this~! Niho~! But make sure to keep the thruster side away from you and point it at Toby~ since we don’t have to protect him anymore~! The rest should be easy because we have such similar fighting styles~! Niho~!"
Seren seemed to not be budging on that fighting style thing. “Tossing” or maybe “guiding” one of her brooms to Pangu, it was assumed he’d grab it. If not it’d probably just hover around him and be very annoying and maybe block a spell or something.
Receiving Hinota's healing spell, Seren held out a thumbs up so it could be seen from behind her. In her other hand was her other broom, which she held like a staff to try and deflect any more incoming fire.Three dimensional combat is quite nice, Seren knew this from experience, but it also deprived them of precious cover.
“Well I can whisper~ niho~ but if you’re talking magic~ no~ Niho~ I think an ethereal explosion communication spell would probably wind up an attack spell~ like ouch~ niho~”
Seren began thinking. A rarity, or perhaps not.
“What kind of spell is it~ Niho~ I might be able to deflect its trajectory away from them~ it’s a question of compatibility and your tricky tricky spell’s nature~”
Seren mused.
“Nihaha~ I don’t think you want to hear the word ‘strength’ right now~ but sometimes two explosions make a right~ or something~ sage’s potential insight~”
Changing topics, Seren gave her rough measure on the healing demands of the battle.
“Nihaha~ my healing’s like very big drops in a bucket and I don’t have a lot of control over it~ but it’s definitely not enough~ if this dragon were a great big and annoying flood then I’d be a leaky dam~ Niho~ so I’ll be counting on your expertise to plug the holes that I’m sure to leaky leak~ Niho~ I think at last right now~ that kind of teamwork from us is what they need~”
Annnnd charged up~ Niho~
“Ok opening fire niho~ Ether Cannon Magic~! Ether Spark~!”
Greenish blue energy erupted from the back of Hinota’s broom as Seren opened fire with a pair of streaks of pure ethereal energy. She aimed for each of Beliath’s wings, maybe to keep him from flying or something. Or maybe because she was subconsciously just a little annoyed about being so thoroughly scorched.
Maybe if I shoot him enough I'll sap his mana and make him sleepy~ that would be nice~ Niho~ though because I am wise I doubt it~
Combat Summery: 1) Healed by Hinota, Health should be full again. 2) Hopped on Hinota's Broom 3) Using one broom golem to sheield herself and Hinota, the other is given to Pangu. 4) Fairy Compact maintained on Saki and Pangu. 5) Ether Spark fired at each of Beliath's wings (2 shots).

[nospaces] When the dragon's laugh shook the room Pangu nearly toppled over. The fact he was able to gather such power in just his voice was unreal. If his son held even a fraction of his power then the group was in greater danger than he initially thought. This line of thinking was proven right not too long after when Beliath unfurled his wings. The hot air in the room that the room exuded grew even stronger to the point of almost being suffocating. [break][break] Pangu silently thanked his lucky stars that he had at least one competent healer on his side. Without Seren, and to some extent Hinota as well, the party would likely take a lot of damage throughout the fight. It was likely they still would, since they were fighting a dragon after all, but at least the damage over time caused by their environment would be negated. If he'd kept his eye instead of offering it to Vael he wouldn't need to worry about such things. Unfortunately, he wasn't afforded that luxury at the moment. [break][break] While Pangu was hanging back and assessing the situation Saki once again ran in like the bloodthirsty beast she was. Even after only talking with the dragons for a short time the dwarf was able to come to a single conclusion: the scaled beings were much smarter than the girl he'd found himself aligned with. At least he was able to see that striking Beliath caused damage to the attacker. The dwarf quickly deduced that if he attempted to damage the dragon his staff was liable to burst into flames right then and there. It was astounding it hadn't already. [break][break] It seemed that Hinota noticed this as well and called out to Seren to lend Pangu one of her brooms for combat. He had to admit that it was a smart idea and he was slightly disappointed he hadn't thought of it himself. Using Seren's brooms to attack would reduce the risk to himself and his items while also providing him an almost unlimited supply of weapons. Assuming that the witch continued to create them for him at least. [break][break] When Seren sent one of her brooms towards Pangu he dropped his staff to the ground and kicked it back towards the door. It wouldn't do to have it in harm's way or Spirits forbid someone to trip over it amid combat. He then grabbed the improved weapon without any hesitation. For a moment he wondered which end was the 'thruster', but he quickly remembered how she'd used them in combat before. She was correct in saying that their styles were similar. At least the one that he'd shown her. [break][break] He dashed his way towards Beliath with the broom in hand. It wasn't until now that he realized how dangerous the warm winds in the room were. The dwarf could feel himself moving at a much slower pace than normal which worried him a great deal. He had others to protect him, but being vulnerable like this was foreign to him. [break][break] Putting his worries to the back of his mind Pangu continued to trudge forward towards his foe. Upon coming close he'd swing the broom at the dragon's leg that wasn't being used to attack Saki. He hoped to sweep Beliath's legs out from under him and send his front half toppling to the ground while he only had one paw to stabilize himself. Whether or not this would work remained to be seen, but if it hit at the very least he'd cause damage. [break][break] WC: 591 | TWC: 7654 [break][break]

If she was being totally honest with herself, she wasn't really listening to the giant daddy dragon's talk with the rest of her party. She was hyper focused on the fight in front of her, only being aware enough of her surroundings because knowing what went on around you paid in a fight. When the dragon in front of her unfurled it's wings, casting a blast of burning wind around her, causing the air to become heavy and oppressive with heat. It was the sort of thing to irritate, even more so when she felt the stinging pain of the fiery skin of the beast, but thankfully her mana acted as a barrier due to her reinforcement spell, negating what little damage there was.
"Heh, that the best you got, you giant lizard? Warming my toes?" Saki laughed, landing back on the ground in a roll and immediately rushing forward for another attack, this time going for a kick to the massive barrel of the dragon. It was then Saki noticed she was a little slower than normal, but that didn't mean much for somebody who doubled her speed- she was running as fast as she normally would without her magic. Saki presumed that it also meant her spells were also a little slower than normal...but it didn't really matter then since her spells were almost all immediate range melee spells. It was also kind of difficult to see what kind of damage she was doing to the thing...if she was doing any real damage at all.
Saki couldn't see any bruises on the dragon due to the dark coloration of the scales, which was assuming you could bruise scales. It didn't seem all that hurt by the twin attacks that was sent after it, barely shifting to unfurl its wings. So what was the plan then, given that it seemed this heat would likely weigh down on the group if the fight continued. Was this a timed thing, beat down the baby dragon until it stopped moving? Or was it yet another of those shitty tests the daddy dragon liked making?
Saki hoped it wasn't the latter. She liked fighting and didn't like tests that cucked her out of fighting- it was kind of the whole reason she was here. It'd be kind of a bummer if the fun stopped here, even if she vaguely understood that this fight might actually be a lethal one of she wasn't careful. It'd be fine, though. Saki was a woman who loved fighting, but she wasn't stupid or suicidal. This seemed like an excellent 'final test' for this dungeon if she ever saw one. Nothing like those creepy ass monsters in the canyon, which would have likely ended in her death.
Thankfully, it seemed she could put down some hurt on the dragon given that her reinforcement spell protected her from its fire effects, but she wasn't sure it could reliably hold up against the oppressive heat.
- Sustaining Saki's 3 Int Spells - Intermediate Kick to the largest part she can strike. - Went ahead and assumed her PR Defense Spell proc's against this fire effect. At least, the fire effect on the dragon, if not the air.
The Jaws of Fire would raise an eyebrow as the intelligent girl suddenly turned insolent. Perhaps he had misjudged her. He was giving her a choice. If she did not wish to provide him with her magical talents, then she wouldn’t have to. Not only did she decide to, however, do so, but she also decided she would be receiving her offering back. It made the eldest dragon lord of the deserts annoyed… [break][break] “I don’t know what illusionary world you live in, noble, but I had very well given you a choice. Do not be as impudent as to think that what may be fair trade to you may not be so for my court and I…” The dangerous dragon’s voice rumbled through the air while his son fought. [break][break] Only one of Seren’s Ether Spark attacks would land upon Beliath, as he moved his second firey wing out and blew it back towards the Hinota and Seren broom pair. The dragon prince was not pleased at the display of magic so far, although the elements displayed were interesting. The close combat fighting displayed by Pangu interested the dragon, as he couldn’t as much sweep a single foot out from under him as much as wack him in one of his legs for intermediate damage. The broom would get hit with the Unmeasurable degrees Quirk, taking the full intermediate damage from it and turning to ash. Beliath’s burning eyes would stare down at Pangu, whom he would attempt to slap away with one of his paws for intermediate damage. Saki’s attack would also land, but the girl would suffer the intermediate burn effects of the Unmeasurable degrees Quirk just as well. [break][break] “Perhaps you’re not as horribly fragile as you seem…Come on now mages, do your worst.” Beliath taunted, spreading his large red wings in the heated hall of the fortress. The attacks had landed, and there was some chipping of scales where they had. [break][break]

[break][break]
You all start taking junior damage the moment you enter your round. Saki takes junior rank fire damage from landing her hit on Beliath.[break][break]
This Round: Beliath turned one of Seren's Ether Spark attacks against her and Hinota through his wings. A mode of transport as well as a last line of defense in emergencies.
Striking or ramming with this golem will attempt a knock-back effect of 4 (+ 5 for every 10 power) meters the golem possesses.

Name of Spell: Ether Stream Elemental Type: Ethereal (Oddity- Explosion) Rank & Spell Type: Intermediate, Attack Range & Speed: Aoe- 40m Range, 5m diameter Beam, 25 m/s Mana Cost: 20, 10 (sustained) Stats Effected: n/a Applicable Perks: Area of Triumph, Quickshot, Damage Awareness Description:
Grimoire flashing with a mysterious glow, Seren brings forth an orb of Ether which she can fire at a target. The orb, upon acceleration, will become a piercing beam of energy before ending in a flash of nothingness. Sustaining this spell produces additional Ether Streams per round. To reaffect a target, Seren must fire at it again. While the spell is being fired, Seren may choose to sweep the beam up to 180 degrees in front of her to affect a larger area.
These spells cannot bypass structures or creations that are of higher rank than the spell itself.
Seren may create 1 additional Ether Blast for every 20 control she possesses.
Seren may also sculpt the spell to avoid affecting 1 + 1 additional targets for every 20 control she possesses. This will cause the spell to lose 20 Power.

*** Themesong time, death or die. (9'.')9 (9'.')-o =3 (9'.')9 (9'.')-o=3 (9'.')9 (9'.')-o=3
Seeing one of her ethersparks return in her direction, Seren used the remaining durability of her broom golem to bat it away. They both disappeared in a bright volatile flash of otherworldly energy.
“Nihaha~ Hinny it looks like your battlefield sense was right on the money~ this doesn’t seem like a fight we can afford to drag out without reason~”
Seren nodded twice as she reevaluated the situation.
“Niho~ Hinny~ Can I burden you with all the healing for a bit after all~? ~I’m about to attempt what is called a pro witchy move~ Hopefully it’ll break Bel-Bel’s momentum just a bit~”
Seren took a deep breath… gulping just a bit...
“HAAAAY~~PANGUUUUU~! I’LL REPLACE YOUR BROOM IN JUST A SECOND SO DOOOMIE A FAVOR AND SURPASS YOUR LIMITS FOR A BIT~ KAY~? ~~~ NIHO~!”
Righty~o~
Rising, Seren brought herself to stand and balance on the end of Hinota’s broom as she once again cast the spell to manifest her own pair of broom golems. She took one in each hand, and leapt as high as her legs could take her…
“Okay Hinny~ I’m dropping Fairy’s Compact~ I’m counting on you to buy us a little more time~!”
...and dropped her healing spell surrounding Pangu and Saki so she could better focus on offense.
---The brooms in either hand flared as Seren leapt carrying her higher and higher and even higher still. She felt her pair of hollow furnace model brooms sputter as they worked, seemingly from the mana pressure of the great dragon Beliath halving their speed, but with the pair of them, they persisted as best they could as Seren continued to climb in preparation for a great big dive.
Reaching the peak of her arc, Seren felt her brooms sputter one last time as they began to stall. Finding her momentum, Seren pulled herself into a great cartwheeling spin as revolutions of ethereal light formed arms around her, like a blurring pinwheel, as she began to descend.
Seren was slowed, yes, but now her inhibited thrusters had gravity on their side as she pushed for maximum velocity in her descent towards the dragon Beliath.
“This is the maneuver which won me the silver ribbon at Witch Arts Refine~! ~~~Duke Veil~! I hope you can see this~! Niho~! ~~~~For this is my very own fine path in the art of explosions~~~~!”
She was simultaneously like a ninja star, a meteor, and a ferris wheel as she made contact with all the fervor of the beginning of the very universe.
“NIHO~! The spoke of the wheel of law bids thee turn~! Become as a fleeting monolith to the flare of mine own soul~!
Broom arts~! Secret Technique~!
~~~~~Aquila Acus: BIGGGGGG BANNNNNNG~~~~~!”
The bands of ethereal energy expanded like the arms of a galaxy as she swung her revolving body. Holding fast in either arm were her trusty brooms wreathed in one Etherspark and Etherstream each to envelope and enhance the impact.
---And so, the witch made contact. And who am I to say what could have happened after that.
Combat Summery: 1) Seren sacrifices remaining broom golem to deflect ether spark coming at her. 2) Fairy Compact maintenance ceased. 3) Seren leapt from Hinota's broom and did a divebomb maneuver using two intermediate damaging spells (Ether Spark and Ether Stream) and her resummoned broomgolems as a massive all out combo attack at Beliath in point blank range. Her allies shouldn't be in range of her aoe, but she can sculpt the spell to avoid them if need be.
