Hearing the laughter from her squad mate, Fuu immediately sat up and conjured a small rock out of her magic. "Shut up!" she'd yell, attempting to chuck the rock at Valo's forehead before facing away from him with a pout. She was so confident about that plan of hers! If she had managed to get a little higher, the earth mage would've been able to grab onto Ardere's feet and cling to it all the way to the other side, but unfortunately she misjudged it, and was now getting flown across like some loser.
"Huh?" The teen would notice an owl made of silver flying across as well. Squinting her eyes, the earth mage couldn't tell who it was at first, but as it got closer, her curious expression faltered with an annoyed click of her teeth. "You've got to be kidding me..." It was the first time she noticed that Charles was here and with that her mood got even more sour. Her eyes then shifted from the owl to what appeared to be an....angel!? Not quite...
Fuu's pale eyes fell upon what appeared to be a "guy" flying with ash constructed wings. The teen couldn't take her eyes off of this person. To her, "he" looked so majestic...and easy on the eyes. A hint of red illuminated on the girl's cheeks. She looked longingly in the ash mage's direction, her legs crossed as she placed her hands dreamily on each side of her face. It wasn't until the golem she had ridden on with Valo stopped at the other side that Fuu would snap back to normal. Blinking a few times, the girl quickly looked around as Valo thanked the copy mage and quickly hopped off of the golem, trying to play it off as if she were standing there with those two the whole time with her arms crossed. "Well, I'm not thanking you. If it weren't for your dumb golem, I would've been cruising across Captain Ardere's back!" she claimed, pointing accusingly at the woman.
As she turned her back in another huff, Fuu took notice of Valo making his way over to that ash mage. Not wanting to be around the green haired lady any longer....or more like wanting to get a closer look at the "guy" Fuu made her way over as well with her arms still crossed, and head risen slightly in an attempt to keep up her prideful demeanor, despite her racing heart proving otherwise.
"Yeah yeah, you did okay I guess. Better than that guy at least....which isn't saying much." Fuu claimed, pointing over at Charles. "I'm Fuu Wilhelm." she added, pointing at herself with her thumb and a smug grin. "Don't have to tell me yours since I'll probably not remember it...Unless you um...want to. In which case, I won't stop ya...or whatever." Her face lit up a bit again as she rambled a little, that cocky demeanor of hers briefly faltering until Ardere started to speak up again.
The fire mage commended everyone on passing the first test before giving a brief history of that broken bridge. Apparently there are flame giants here? That caused Fuu's eyes to light up a little as she once again faced the Captain's direction.
For the next test, the man wanted the group to climb up....a freaking mountain. The girl turned to look up at the behemoth of a mountain, her mouth slightly open in shock. Even she found this to be a bit much...until Ardere mentioned something about a prize. "Wha-" Watching as the fire mage flew up, Fuu's mind started to race on all the potential prizes...all of them being rather Ardere related to put simply. With that, Fuu's shocked expression formed into a challenging grin, that fire of hers returning once more!
While Valo started to talk about working together or something, Fuu already started to walk up to the mountain, and wiped some sweat off of her forehead. "This is gonna be a cakewalk." Fuu claimed, but the moment she touched the mountain side, she winced and hopped back, flailing her hand in pain! Obviously the mountain was hot which put a damper on the dwarf's plan on trying to climb it. Blowing her now red palm, Fuu walked back to the others as Charles was pitching his own idea. She didn't catch much of what he was saying because she was preoccupied with her hand, but the moment Charles called Fuu's name, she jerked her head towards him with a bit of a scowl. "Bite me, loser!" Fuu snapped, assuming that the bull knight was trying to insult her. She'd then calm down some as he continued to speak, raising an eyebrow.
She looked over at the mountain again quietly. What Charles came up with...wasn't a bad idea, or at least the parts she heard. Cracking her neck, Fuu walked back over to the mountain side and brushed a strand of hair that was over her face to the side. The earth mage's grimoire started to glow again as mana from the earth around her started to flow to the dwarf, melding with her own mana to make a light brown aura. "Will of Stone." The aura then flared up some more as the book changed pages. "Gaia's Emergence..." As the aura continued to flow, two stones that were rectangular in shape started to float around girl.
With her hands balled into fists, Fuu started to punch at the side of the mountain with both hands until it made sizeable holes, big enough for one to grip on with their hands. Fuu then kicked at the lower part until it yielded the same result. "It actually worked..." Fuu muttered in surprise.
Her plan was to keep making similar holes like this, using them as footholds to easily climb up and if the others wanted to, they could follow her right up. Hopefully there would be some surface on the side of the mountain along the way...
Description: With her grimoire flipped to the right page, Fuu begins to draw on the mana of the earth around her, merging it with her own mana to strengthen her body to be as tough as stone itself. With this active, Fuu is able to ignore the damage of a single spell or attack of Junior or lower rank per post as well as ignoring the extra effects of damaging spells in general (courtesy of her Tenacious Body perk) once every five posts. If the attacker has +20 power to Fuu's durability then it will only half the spell's rank in damage, but if they have +30 then she will not be able to ignore the spell at all. (Tenacious Body will remain in effect however.)
With her grimoire flipped to the right page, a light brown aura surrounds herself, boosting her physical strength while conjuring a piece of stone (can create an additional piece per ten control gained), no bigger than Fuu's head and roughly rectangular in shape. The stone floats idly around Fuu for the duration of the spell, but can be used as a projectile, sending it flying with a gesture of her hand until it reaches its maximum range or comes into physical contact with something/someone with enough force to deal blunt damage and knock them back two meters (an additional five meters per ten power gained) before breaking apart. If the target's face is unprotected and struck by this spell, it will break apart and blind the target(s) for one post.

Ardere would commend them all for making it across, while the others would make comments to each other. Their next task was to climb to the top of the mountain shown to them. A brief glance would show it to really be a volcano, which made this quite dangerous without the need for monsters to be attacking them at inopportune times, but it was not as tall as it could have been. The chance of a prize for the one who performed the best on this part was nice, but she was so outclassed that Elliot just planned to survive rather than come out on top to get something she might not even have a use for. A surprise gift was just that, something that could possibly be really good for the one receiving it but also a high chance of being useless.
Some would talk to her after the next part of their training was given to them, which came as a surprise when she was one of the few that were not wearing the mantle of a Magic Knight. One would offer to help her if she asked for it, which she would most definitely not if at all possible. "Thanks, I'll keep that in mind, Valo. You can call me Elliot." Another would begin to make plans using what they knew about everyone else, which made sense but left a couple out if they went as planned.
There was one more that would approach Elliot to speak to her, before the speech Ard had given, though it gave off really mixed signals that confused her for a moment. Compliments, with insults, a name given and told that she didn't have to give her own. Elliot would blush a bit as well as she did a quick look over of the girl. She was short, but pretty, and seemed strong enough to handle herself. "It's...uh...nice to meet you Fuu, I'm Elliot Woodcock. I'm hoping to be better overall with training from Ardere, so next time you might be able to...er...compare me to someone better the same way next time." That was all she had gotten to say in response before she ran off to start working on her own plan for climbing the mountain.
With no transportation spells or golem creation being recommended, as they had been tasked with climbing the mountain and not just getting over it any way possible, Elliot was left with two choices. Follow the others footsteps, or climb on her own nearby to help where needed. Not wanting to get in the way, the girl would simply start climbing as one normally would; carefully searching for holds to grab onto before moving up to the next spot. It would be a bit slow, but it was physical and meant she could pull it off if she was careful. She was also close enough to be able to call for help or come to the aid of another that needed it, as well as use the others spells and tricks to her advantage if she needed to eventually even if the female did not want to.

[attr="class","ardereescroll"]Ardere hovered high in the sky above the group, watching them as they attempted to complete his daunting task. The Captain could not help but smile a bit, as it reminded him of when he was a young knight. The training expeditions he had been dragged into were insane, but they paid off in the end. He hoped he could inspire the same strength in these young mages that had been brought out by his mentor. They seemed to be quite a capable bunch, but he was curious as to how they would finish the day out. He was even more curious how they would react when he showed them what was waiting at the top of the mountain. Hovering far out of reach, he kept an eye on them. [break][break] Clutching his heart, he felt Salamander's warmth deep inside him. Soon, old buddy. The dragon was bellowing deep inside his soul, blazing like a sun. He was just waiting to come out--he could sense strength too. Fuu was an intriguing one after all, but she reminded him all too much of some Lions he used to know. Charles and Azure were fairly interesting, as they both were pretty capable in the Magic Knight Exams or had proven themselves capable here. The copy mage's intentions of acquiring a spell from him were amusing, and perhaps he would indulge her soon. Elliot was a bit on the fence, but even then he could tell the guy had potential. The entire group was frazzled from his arduous challenges, but none had broken yet. He did not imagine they would any time soon. [break][break] Looking back at the top of the volcano, he exhaled heavily. The air here was heavy and hot, simmering within his lungs. It was nothing compared to the air in the Mirage Desert, but it was certainly comparable. The group of mages had the fortunate advantage of mana skin, but even then it was a powerful place. Focus on one thing; the top. Nothing else matters right now. Zone it all out and focus on your goal. That's the only way to get anything done after all. Nodding to them, he twirled with his dragon wings towards a higher spot on the mountain. Here he would await their arrival, but their journey was far from over. Lurking in the shadows were a group of four elemental beasts about 7 feet tal, oozing lava with horns protruding from their heads. They began to toss volcanic rocks the size of a carriage at each of the mages. Their size and power was scary, but he had faith the mages could handle it. [break][break] Elementals:
Post by Valo Stark✾ on Aug 2, 2020 22:08:48 GMT -5
Valo wasn't sure if he just missed it, or he just didn't consider it not being able to just fly up there would defeat the actual task of climbing up the mountain. He flicked his own forehead being frustrated with himself, "Duh...Valo" he muttered to himself quietly. Valo did lend an ear to Charle's plan, he was willing to listen to any plan anyone came up with. Usually tasks like this called for teamwork rather than trying to do it solo, Valo may have seemed like that type to try and tackle everything on his own. But this actually wasn't his approach to a lot of things, he learned about the value of teamwork at a young age while he was part of a gang. They usually worked together to break some laws, but it was much easier to break laws together.
The plan that Charles came up with was solid, and if no one had a better one that would be the plan to follow. Valo had no issues with it, he looked over to his rowdy squad mate Fuu who could never just sit still not even for a minute. But he would have the earth mages back no matter what, the little dwarf grew on him in a odd way. He started to see her as a younger sibling to keep a watchful eye over, just in case they got into to much trouble. With the plan in tact Fuu started to make holes on her way up for others to use to climb as well, Valo started to use them climbing up just behind Fuu. "Woooaaahhhh Fuu look at you! Making good use of that earth magic!" Valo shouted upward toward Fuu in a teasing manner. He looked to his left and saw Eliot not to far away, climbing on their own a slight worried expression was on Valo's face. It seemed they wanted to try climbing up on their own, but the question was why? Maybe they needed to prove something to themselves, maybe they didn't like magic knights. Never the less they were a civilian, and not that Valo looked on down on them he would keep an eye for them just in case.
Sweat started to drip down from Valo's forehead and other places, even with less layers and mana skin the heat of this place and the mountain was intense. While it was uncomfortable Valo started to take it in, and accepting it. He was a fire mage himself after all, could he really call himself one if he couldn't handle a little heat. A small grin appeared on his face at this thought, some heat wasn't going to stop him from scaling this mountain and completing every task in front of him. But the challenge was just starting it seemed, as volcanic like elemental beasts started to appear from the shadows. They were tall and pretty intimidating beasts, they honestly reminded Valo of his own golems that he used in battle. But these creatures looked powerful, to strong to fight against at the moment while they were climbing a steaming hot mountain. "Look out guys! Incoming!!" Valo would shout loudly to the rest of the group, hoping to get most of their attention.
For now trying to fight them wasn't really a good idea, luckily there was still a lot of distance between them. The molten lava attacks that were being thrown wouldn't land on their mark entirely. "We can't really fight them like this! I'll use a distraction and we should keep climbing up! I can distract three of them! Hopefully someone else can focus on the other!" Valo stated as his grimoire floated to his side glowing a bright red and orange hue. "Hi no Tori!" he said with intent three flames started to morph into his always reliable fire hawk golems. Three large birds made of pure flames flapped their blazing wings ready to be of use, using his mana tether. He sent one of his golems to one elemental creature, at his limit he could only make three. He commanded these golems to keep a safe distance away from the elemental beings and their attacks, but being within range to distract them. Hopefully his plan would stop their movement and focus on the group entirely, giving them enough time to climb up the mountain.
Name of Spell: 火の鳥 (Hi no tori / FireBird) Spell Element: Fire Spell Rank: Junior Mana Cost: 10 | 5 Type of Golem: Balanced Applicable Perks: Puppet Master Description: The Hi ni tori are airborne golems made of pure fire. Reaching about 2 meters in size, they are simple in their usage. Using it's sharp beak and claws to scratch and slash. Also using it's wings to attack as well causing some decent damage. Hi no tori's can be used for transportation following the transportation guidelines for Junior ranked golem spells. They can carry one person at a time and fly at speeds of 5 m/s. They take simple commands from their caster using a mana connection and verbal orders.
Fuu continued to scale the mountain, using her enhanced strength to create holes that will make it easier for her and those who choose to follow to climb it. A satisfied yet challenging grin was on her face as she continued to look up. She was honestly no expecting this to work, believing that her earth spells weren't quite up to the challenge yet, but the dwarf was now glad that she tried it...even if it was part of Charles' idea.
"Heh, of course! You're in the presence of greatness after all!" Fuu replied in her usual prideful manner, not fully realizing that she was being teased. Giving Fuu praise tends to inflate her already humongous ego. At this point, one could question if there is a limit to this teen's ego...all evidence currently pointing to no. She wasn't doing all of this to prove she's better than everyone however...even if she is acting that way. She wishes to impress everyone here, especially Captain Ardere, Valo...and apparently the ash mage who she found herself looking over at again.
Fuu wasn't concerned about the ash guy seemingly going off on his own. It instead made him look more manly, and strong in her eyes, even if he was moving at a slower pace. How easily the young noble could find herself attracted to strength was ridiculous, and almost hilarious...but it made sense since she's always trying to push herself to be strong either through training, putting herself in dangerous positions, or trying to pick fights with the strongest people in the room. The dwarf was distracted to the point of deactivating her Will of Stone spell which she honestly didn't need at this moment, but not distracted enough to keep her from climbing. Valo's sudden warning did bring her fully back to reality however...
"Eh?" Fuu looked down at Valo before looking up...just as a freaking volcanic rock was tossed her way! "Waahh!!" Fuu immediately stopped, and pushed herself closer to the wall, enough for the incoming projectile to miss her. She then looked down at where it was falling to before looking up at the source, an angry expression on her face that quickly turned to one of awe. "That's...so coollll!" Fuu claimed as she stared at the fire elemental. "Why can't you make anything like that, Valo?" the dwarf asked, a sign of disappointment in her tone.
Then the girl noticed that there were more than just one of those things up there, causing her expression to quickly falter. "Ah..."
As another molten rock came tumbling down, Fuu lifted one of her arms forward, and sent one of the rocks that were floating around her upwards at it! Upon impact, the rock from Fuu's spell was able to shatter the incoming rock into a bunch of fiery pieces. These elementals may be powerful, but the rocks they through weren't...most likely picking them up from the surface of the mountain.
"When I get up there, I'm kicking all your asses!!" Fuu flailed her arm just as she noticed three flaming birds making their way up to at least three of those creatures. The dwarf looked down at Valo and gave him a thumbs up before continuing the climb, making a path for the fire mage and whoever else decided to follow!

Sweat dripped from Elliot's forehead and into her eyes, the girl squinting to see past it as she focused completely on each and every foot- and hand-hold she reached for as she climbed up the behemoth of a task. The others would continue to use their magic, spells they had learned that helped, but Elliot had none of her own to help with it nor did she want to look weak and ask for the help from others for as long as was necessary to prove the point to herself and everyone else. Her arms felt the pain as she lifted her own weight with each step up the cliffside she took, her body grateful when a not so steep part revealed itself and she was able to simply walk a bit before resuming pure climbing.
After a while the sound of rocks hitting rock would startle her, nearly making her lose her grip and causing her heart to skip a beat as she frantically ensured her limb placement. Ardere would continue to tell them to focus on the getting to the top even as what appeared to be some lava elementals lobbed rocks at them to try and knock them down. Having no way to deal with them from where she was, Elliot chose to move where she was climbing over enough to be out of the path of rocks as they had landed thus far. Others would send out elementals of their own to distract them, which meant Elliot was able to continue her painstaking climb with almost no reason to slow down or stop now. She might not be the first, or second, one to reach the top; but she WOULD reach the top!

[attr="class","glentext"] It seemed like everyone agreed with the plan. Even someone as stubborn as Fuu managed to realize that his plan was solid and the best thing they had to work at the moment. It seemed like his initial idea for Fuu to use her Earth Magic to make small holes on the mountain in order to make the climbing easier work. Right now he was using everything at his disposal and with the very little information he had about the surrounding individuals. Who were mostly people he didn't meet before and magical abilities were unknown to him. [break][break] Charles kept sweating every passing moment. The heat was the most annoying he has ever experienced, this feeling made him want to get this over with as soon as possible. The possibility of a place to drink on top and relax for a moment crossed his mind which surprisingly enough motivated the lazy Black Bull to stop being lazy for this moment and get this done as soon as possible. The silver mage began to climb the mountain with the rest of the group. Making sure to keep a good pace while being careful, if he rushed too much there was a possibility he will commit a mistake and fall. A moment later he heard someone mention something that got his attention. His eyes turned to the direction were heard the sound of something approaching. He saw huge monsters made out of lava that were at least 7 foot tall which was quite intimidating. Those were one of the monsters the Crimson King said they will be encounter during their time here. It was about time they showed up, they were surely intimating and they were different from the other type of mana beasts he encountered in other locations. [break][break] The elementals were walking towards them which was problematic. Charles wasn't in a good position to properly attack those elementals and trying to fight them will be counter-productive, but he could buy times for him and the others to climb up to the point the elementals were no longer able to reach them. Valo created three golems to distract at least three out of the four elementals that were coming after them. The silver mage held one of his hands out and stopped climbing. He created a silver sword in one of them and did the same with the other hand. Making sure not to use the lightning properties to his magic. This disabled the AoE effect from the sword which could've destabilized the integrity of the mountain. He grabbed one of the swords to prevent himself from falling. His grimoire floated beside him as he pointed towards the other elemental that wasn't being distracted by Valo's golems. "Silver Magic: Silver String Binding" He said as he pointed towards the legs of one of the elementals below him. A silver string emerged from his hand and moved towards one of the elementals in an attempt to restrain the elemental and debuff its speed to buy more time. After releasing his spell Charles resumed climbing the mountain using the two swords as pikes to make the climbing easier. [break]

Azure had hung behind a bit letting the other mages go first while she sat atop her watery golem, the other golems dispelling after the other mages got off of them. Now she did not let them go first out of being nice or what have you, mostly did it out of letting the other mages deal with any problems with the climb first so she can cruise and keep cruising. So after a decent wait she had her golem start to ascend into the air and up the mountain of fire.
For the first bit it was well warm, though that might be an understatement, the copy mage glad she stayed on the watery golem as it was doing well to help her keep cool in the heat of this ‘climb’ Having a personal taxi is a wonderful thing.
Ahead of her she could see the other mages now as she was catching up, but more than that she saw four large fuck off elementals of fire throwing giant fucking rocks, yeah that was a problem but one she could handle. Looking to show off a bit she would have her golem pick up the pace some rather than taking it like a leisure stroll as she stood up on its back her grimoire glowing with a mist of water, “Aphrodite.” as she spoke one hand she would pull the mist into a solid mass and shape out a bow, its string hard to spot but there. Then she would pull back the string, to those without much sensory awareness it would look like nothing was on the strings, for others it would show a pair of watery arrows.
She would take a moment to make sure she was in range enough before firing off the arrows, no sound and no visual as the pair of arrows would home in on where she had aimed, not right at the elementals of flame, instead she aimed at the ground between the group of four elements where they would then explode in a seventy meter radius of water needles, to top it off all those hit by this, if they survived, would be blinded. Azure hoped for sure this would show off her strength on how above the other mages she was, as well as maybe impress the Crimson Lion Captain enough that he would hand over his spells.

When the string is pulled back, an arrow made of water appears and can be shot by Artemis. Through ammo rules, Artemis is able to create more than one arrow at a time per draw and shoot. The Bow itself can be used in a physical fight, though its main use is for ranged combat. The arrows can either pierce an enemy, or it it hits solid materials like ground or walls, it bursts into sharp water needles that hits in an AOE manner. At first hit, opponents are blinded by the water that hits their eyes. The blind effect only happens once per opponent. The arrows, as well, are coated with an illusion, making them very hard to see, hear, and detect with mana, and finally are able to home in on their intended target because of the user's Sensory. Those hit by the spell will also have their sensory debuffed, following on debuff rules.[break]

[attr="class","ardereescroll"]Ardere could not help but chuckle. The mages climbing below him truly showed resilience and strength in their actions. He had to admit he was fairly surprised at how vigorous their will was, but of course this was a good thing. The Captain did not drag them all the way out here for just a party--this was training. So far the group was trying their best, but that Azure girl sure was testing the limits of what he pushed them through. Charles and Fuu certainly were giving it their all as well. While Elliot and Valo might not be as outwardly intense as some of the others, they had not given up and that alone was noteworthy. Perhaps he had picked the right group after all. [break][break] With one fell swoop, Azure along with the help of her comrades decimated the lava elementals. Impress, but not surprised. She was the higher rank of the group, and apparently really wanted to copy one of his spells. When I said focus, this was not what I expected. This is better. A devilish smirk plastered across his draconic maw like an amused dragon, he flapped above them before landing back at the top of the mountain. There he lied in wait for their final test. Cracking his knuckles, he tossed his Crimson Lion cloak off the top of the mountain. Once he had taken all of his dreams and poured them into his strength. He had done that here, in this hellish landscape of destruction and blaze. This is where the mages below now took everything in them to make it to the top, but what lay in wait for them at the top was a monster unlike anything they had ever faced before; Ardere. [break][break] Feet firmly planted into the ground, he began to power up. Flames blazing around him like a wildfire consuming the woodlands, he inhaled sharply. The Crimson Lion's eyes shimmered gold for a moment as he exhaled hot steam into the air. The other mages would arrive any time now. They were close to the peak, and so their biggest challenge awaited them. Standing there adorning dragon wings and scaled spikes across his form, Ardere turned to face them as they would likely arrive one by one. But he waited until they all arrived, and would intervene if any of the others needed help still. Welcome to the last test. I hope you'll give me all you've got. You all have grit, and even a Lion like me can see that. So show me a good time, won't you? He requested, sharp teeth exposed. His eyes were intense, filled with strength and determination. Of course he wouldn't go too hard on them, but that didn't mean they couldn't have a bit of fun. If you can land a hit on me Azure, I'll throw in an extra spell for you. A chuckle emitted from his lips as the ground beneath them began to rumble, red lightning crackling across the sky as plumes of lava burst through the mountains around them. This was the Volcano Grand Magic Zone after all. [break][break] OOC: You will have arrived at the top by now, to face your final challenge; Ardere.

Valo's plan proved to be successful, his golems were able to draw out some of the fire away from him and the others. With that opening it allowed the others to attack and restrain some of them. Valo couldn't help but smirk at his squad mate Fuu own pride and cockiness, the more he got to know her the more he realized they were very similar. Fuu was younger and more childlike, but they both had a strong sense of self pride. Valo wasn't going to try to take that away from her, but he would continue to tease her though it gave him a good laugh. "Yeah yeah just keep making the holes! And I can make cooler things then that!" Valo replied to her comment about how he couldn't make things like the fire elementals that were attacking them.
"My golems are unique and artistic! These things theres no...no sense of vision!" Valo said aloud, looking at the fire elementals. Valo was a rather artistic fellow at times, especially when it came to his golems and other spells. He took pride in everyone of them, since they came from him and his own mana they were his prized possessions. And someone claiming a typical fire elemental weren't as cool as his own golems!? He wouldn't hear it, not at all. But his focus turned to something else that caught his eye, the other member of their little group. The member of golden dawn started to make her move, she was still using her golems to 'climb' up the mountain. This kind of annoyed Valo, if he were allowed he would have done the same thing. "Hey riding golems?? I thought we couldn't...It doesn't matter hurry up Fuu!" Valo said with some more focus and sense of urgency in his voice. He wasn't one to complain about rules or things like that, he just liked to compete and win and now he could do that. Valo kept his eyes open though to avoid any of the elementals rock throwing tactics.
Bu he mostly kept his eyes on the Golden Dawn mage, from what he could gather about her she was strong and this intrigued Valo. He watched her activate another spell, it was hard to make out but when she said the words and did the same movements he knew exactly what spell that was. It was a spell that belonged to his Vice Captain Artemis, an exact replica of that spell. "Thats...interesting!" Valo said to himself, a grin appearing on his face. The golden dawn mage was looking more and more interesting by the second. "I wonder what it would be like to fight her..." he said now reaching close to the top of the mountain.
But now Valo had to focus on other things, he didn't reach the very top just yet but he was nearly there. But he could easily see a burst of intense flames coming from the top and that could only be one person capable of such a feat, Ardere Kasai was waiting for them at the top. He waited for everyone to arrive, Valo would arrive right after Fuu did. But the look on his face was that of pure excitement, they would now be facing Ardere the captain of the Crimson Lions.
Valo pounded his right first into his left palm, a burst of small fire would flare for just a second. His three firebird golems were still active, as they flew in just behind him staying afloat in the air. "Fuu we must be the luckiest squad in Clover!! First we fought Lydia and now we spar with Ardere Kasai. Let's apply what we learned then here though yeah?" He said to his squad mate holding out his fist for a fist bump.
Valo's eyes focused on the crimson lions captain now, a grin on his face. "Captain Kasai!! You should be stronger than your vice captain Lydia Ravencrest right??!" Valo asked the captain while stretching out his arms, "She owes me a one on one fight someday, this'll be good practice. I plan to beat her when that day comes." Valo said now feeling pumped about taking on Ardere, the Captain was a pure fire mage just like Valo perhaps the young knight could learn something new about their shared element. Valo would turn to face the rest of the group though real quick, he lowered his tone just a little. "We should make a plan of attack, at least focus on our strengths. Fuu and me are more physical attackers I can add additional support with my golems. What about you guys??" Valo wanted to get a clear idea of what these other guys could do before just rushing in facing a Captain of a squad. If they could use their strengths, and work together it would prove extremely beneficial.

Fuu couldn't help but snicker at the response Valo gave her. She wasn't much of an art person or whatever, but she could understand that the fire mage is passionate about his golems. She never really thought much of golems until recently coming across mages that use them. She prefers to handle things herself without help, but the earth mage will be lying if she said they didn't look cool. Plus the idea of having mindless servants to do her bidding didn't sound all that bad, but that was probably her noble blood talking....
"Bah, I can make dirt angels that look way more "artistic" than those...things." she claimed, gesturing at the golems. The girl then heard her squad mate complain a bit about something and turned her head to see what he was fussing about. Fuu's brows furrowed as she watched that Golden Dawn chick fly up with that water golem of hers. "Of course a Golden Lamer would think they're above the rules." Fuu claimed before closing her eyes, making a sort of pouting expression. "Tch who does this lady think she is, me?" The dwarf then angrily looked down at Valo as he tried rushing her. "Oi! I could kick you right off of this mountain ya know!" Despite that, she picked up the pace. They did need to hurry up and get to the top after all.
Just like Valo, Fuu found herself looking back at the copy mage as well. She conjured up yet another water spell, but just like with the golems, Fuu was unaware of the spell's origins which was her Vice Captain. As Azure ended those elementals with her magic, Fuu rolled her eyes before looking back up. "Yeah, yeah. I could've done that too, but whatever..." the heiress mumbled to herself. She then smirked at the compliments Valo was throwing out, and started to snicker again. "Geez, someone's thirsty." the earth mage then looked back down at Valo as they neared the type. "Why stop at fighting? Maybe she'll give you a smoochy smooch too if you let her touch your book." Fuu added in a mocking tone before giving the fire mage a teasing grin.
They were now nearing the top, and Fuu found her attention being brought back up as she saw bursts of flames and lava! It all looked really cool to someone like her...especially since it meant that she was getting close to a certain someone up there.
Finally making it to the top, Fuu slowly pulled herself up, her sweat filled face peeking up before revealing the rest of her body. With her feet now on the surface, the earth mage deactivated her spell and the aura around her vanished. The girl used quite a bit of mana, but she felt like it was worth it...before she heard what the Captain had to say next. "You want us to...what now?" The dwarf's breathing was a little heavy. She was taken off guard by this, and was now mentally cursing herself for using up some of her mana. "Shit..." she mumbled, but then the girl perked up a little as she heard Ardere speaking to Azure, putting another one of his spells on the table! "Wh-what!? Screw that!" The girl yelled out before pointing accusingly at the captain, going from fangirling back to her usual cocky demeanor.
"I better get something damn good for when I land a hit on you!" she then crossed her arms in a huff as Valo started to speak, causing her cockiness to falter a bit at the mention of...Lydia. "Err...yeah..." The earth mage looked down at one of her legs, specifically the one that Vice Captain broke. It was fine now, fixed up by the glass mage's healing spell...but the memories were still there. It was the first time Fuu had ever broken something major, surprising because of how reckless she is. "....lucky." The girl took a deep breathe and shook her head as Valo spoke to the Lion Captain.
No...she wasn't going to let that moment continue to get to her...not now of all times. She had her chance to impress Lydia and blew it, but now it felt like she had a second chance by battling Ardere.
Fuu then looked over to Ardere. A look of uncertainty was on her face at first, but it shifted to sheer determination. She clenched her fists, but then she looked up at Valo as he turned to the others, wanting to come up with some sort of plan. The dwarf would rather just outright attack Ardere right now, but she wanted to replenish some of her mana...Plus, it might not completely suck to actually try...teamwork. Grrr, just don't suggest anything stupid, or else Ardere won't be your only problem." Fuu claimed before shifting her glare to the silver mage. "Looking at you, Charles."

[attr="class","glentext"] It seemed like their attack was successful in managing to defeat some of the elementals they encountered with a solid tactic they managed to defeat them without a lot of difficulties. The path to the top was clear so they weren't any major pain in the asses in the way, just some climbing that needed to be done. While Valo and Fuu were arguing on the way up which left the Black Bull unamused, they were two Green Mantis so maybe that's how they got along. Anyway, it's not like he cared. [break][break] Eventually, Charles arrived at the top where Captain Ardere was waiting for them. His face was visibly sweaty, due to the tough task of having to climb and the added heat of the place they were at. This was a major pain in the ass for the silver mage. All he could hope is that whatever reward was waiting for them was worth the time and effort. Ardere seemed to be impressed by their performance previously. "Last test, huh?" He previously thought that climbing all the way to the top, but it seemed like their last test was about to begin soon. His eyes widened as the Crimson King said they were going to have to try and land a hit on him. Sure trying to land a hit on someone usually sounded easy, but it was Ardere, landing a shot on him, especially at their current level will be complicated and a small plan would be required to leave someone like him in the open to properly deliver a hit. Though he could definitely come up with something if the others wanted to cooperate. The Black Bull didn't expect Fuu to do that, though. [break][break] Valo suggested a plan of attack, which Charles agreed. It's not like they can deliver a hit on someone like Ardere without any proper planning. One could say it was very pathetic making a plan in an attempt to just lay a hit on one person, but it showed how big was the gap between Ardere and the rest of the group. "You can use your golems as a way to limit his movement if there's anything that's going to make it difficult to us it's his speed. If we limit the places where he is able to move the higher the chance of us delivering a hit on him. I can back you up from behind, we need to force him into an opening and strike him with all we got at that instant." His place was basic, but right now they were a lot of variables. Even though Ardere's magic was well-known his spells and what type of moves he would use against their encounter were hard to predict. It was clear he was going to hold back, but he will still prove to be a challenge for them. "I'll try to limit the places he goes to as well..." He said as his grimoire came alight, the silver mage created a silver construct. Being in the air gave him a better look at the place, so it was something he had to use to his advantage. The young magic knight got on top of the silver owl and waited for anyone to make their move first. Charles didn't care about what Fuu told him, but he might as well use her own arrogance and stubbornness to his own advantage. "You can go ahead and fight him first if you want. I will not interrupt." Likely if she went first she could leave an opening to hit Ardere, even though he knew it was easier said than done. [break]
