[attr="class","forresttabsscroll"] Well, at least everyone else was having fun. He couldn’t think about much else regarding the family dynamics of the Ravencrests, even when the apparent emotional investment of the Vice-Captain to her other family member resulted in such violence followed by such a public display of affection. [break][break] Maybe that was just how all Ravencrests were with each other? Well, he couldn’t really think that he would enjoy being part of that family. [break][break] It did make him think, he spent more of his time with the Crimson Lions than his own true family. Did that make the squad a kind of family on its own? Maybe that wasn’t so hard to believe. Ardere was still enjoying the portrait, and it seemed like the young Viera was honing her skills as such. He could be happy, being surrounded by relatively happy individuals. [break][break] So he kept a nice smile, partially because the small monologue from the younger silver-haired Ravencrest was almost quite amusing, the fuss about his apparent attire not being fit for a portrait. Forrest himself was dressed in a more regular, casual attire, a long sleeve shirt was good enough for the chillier weather. Stump floated behind the group, finding itself rather done with posing because staying still in one place wasn’t quite entertaining. [break][break] Instead, it did find itself in the presence of not one, but two other spirits. One, of course, being Salamander, of which it had known previously from other interactions with the Captain of the Crimson Lion, but then there was the other Spirit that belonged to the ice user of the Ravecrests. [break][break] “Chiri!” Floating around, Stump pulled at the tail of Salamander, wishing to cash playfully annoy the other elemental creature. [break][break] When it was time for dinner, Ardere led the way. Forrest followed after, casually claiming a seat beside the Captain. He took another moment to scold the wood wisp, a gentle, but stern kind of glare like a mother disciplining her children. [break][break] “It’s a wonderful setup.” Forrest said, glancing over to Ardere for a short moment. While he was a vegetarian, he could at least enjoy the delicious smells and the spread set up for them. He went to grab a bottle of sake, pouring himself a small shot to begin the night. [break][break] “To us, the Crimson Lions.” Forrest said, raising his drink for toast once the others would gather as well.

[attr="class","florencetext"] Lydia would listen while her younger brother spoke while putting a hand on the side of his neck. You know I'm not mad you left and of course I know you tried to ignore it. I raised you myself I know you better than anyone else. As Haina pulled back Lydia would take note about how the lions now had three spirits with her younger brother being the newest of the lions to get one. The glass mage herself could never get a partnership with a spirit even if she wanted after all it was commonly known those with two elements were unable to form a bound with a spirit not that it bothered Lydia that much. She wasn't surprised when Hania tried to use the excuse of being dirty to get out of the squad painting and would just let out a sigh. No I don't agree with you but I'm not going to force you to take part in the painting. As for the new clothing matter I had a feeling you'd be showing up so I brought you some clothing you can change into they're in my bag down the hall. [break][break] Lydia's gaze would switch to Ard for a moment as the younger Ravencrest informed them he had something he needed to tell them later. If it was about what she thought it was then it was a matter they'd have to deal with soon. Tell us about it when everyone else passes out. Lydia would then follow Ardere to spot they were suppose to have dinner. The different smells of meat hit her noise as they entered the room meat which her younger brother of course wouldn't eat but hey at least there was vegetables he could eat. She could also hear the whispers of the other guest not that she could blame them after all there was a fair amount of lions here at the moment. Before taking her own seat Lydia would walk over to the bar where the various alcohols and grabbed a whole bottle of wine while placing down some Yul to pay for the whole bottle. She would then take her seat at the other end of the table from Ard so that Clive could sit next to him. She would pour a glass of the wine taking a sip before speaking to the captain. So captain do we order the food ourselves or did you already buy everything on the menu?

Ozma mearly stood there while the portrait was being done as he listened to the conversation between Lydia and Hania which made him raise an eyebrow but not much more, it seemed to him that all noble familys had issues but it was making him wonder if the issues that he was having with his sister Hinota were not as uncommon as he thought, he stretched after a moment as he thought back to the issue he had with his sister and the Golden Dawn captain who had caused so many issues in his family. His eyes darkend a bit at the thought before he lightly shook his head knowing it wouldn’t do to get angry or spiteful here when they were trying to unwind and relax. As they all started to move towards the tables Ozma sat a bit away from the captain and vice captain as he looked around thru the alcohols that they had to choose from and felt a bit lost.
The younger mage didn’t drink that much but he tried a few here and there as he spotted a bottle that he wanted in Forrests hands. Glancing around he saw another bottle and he poured himself a small drink as well and took a sip enjoying the clean flavor and slight burn from the alcohol. Hearing his fellow mage offer a toast the mute mage raised his glass in a toast. Though he couldn’t speak the smell of cooking meats and veggies was making him rather hungry and he wondered they same thing as Lydia that would they need to order themselves or would they just have everything served to them. Glancing back at viera he wondered how the portrait would turn out since she said she didn’t need them to stay still, when she was done he would offer his opinion since he dabbled in painting often so he had a good amount of skill when it came to art.
Post by Taiyō Vermillion on Mar 3, 2021 15:27:36 GMT -5
It was finally the day he looked forward to; The day he, Taiyō Vermillion, would become an official magic knight and a member of The Crimson Lion Kings Magic Knight Squad. He was being brought into the squad by the captain himself, Captain Ardere Kasai. It was such an honor to be given the opportunity and Taiyō was grateful for it. As he got ready, he thought back to when he first met the captain.
Flashback 1 - Many Years Prior A young Taiyō ran around the estate, grinning from ear to ear. While in his youthful bliss, he ran into a man wearing a magic knight mantle. he fell over and looked up at him, wondering why he was there. He was probably there to see his dad, well that's what Taiyō thought anyway. "I'm sorry Mister. I didn't see you." He hopped back to his feet to take off running again but was grabbed by the back of his tunic and raised into the air like a lion's cub. "Dad! Put me down!"
"Hey, you remember my son right, Ard?" Igneus Vermillion, head of House Vermillion asked. At this time, he was merely just another member in the house. "Taiyō, this is Ardere Kasai and he is a member of Crimson Lions. Well, he's their Vice Captain actually. He's a good friend of mine and Silas."
As his father lowered him to the floor, he bowed in a respectful manner. "Nice to meet you, Sir Ardere sir!"
"You don't have to call me sir, kid." Ardere looked down at the boy. "I have been keep tabs on your progress actually and I hear you're really strong with you magic already. It's kinda expected since you are a member of House Vermillion after all. Tell you what, kid, get stronger and join the magic knights and then you and I can have a fight."
"You want to fight me? That sounds like a huge honor!" Taiyō jumped up and smirked. "I will get stronger and when I receive my grimoire, I'll take you on." He dashed off. "I'm off to training Dad, Mr. Ardere sir!"
As he left, he could hear the laughter coming from his father and the Vice Captain.
Present Day Taiyō slowly grabbed his scarf and looked at it. It was knitted specially for him from his mother during the winter season many years ago after he was told that the former Vice Captain was now the captain of the squad. He never forgot about the declaration of a good fight presented to him from the man he admired.
FlashBack 2 - 3 Years Prior The newly appointed captain of The Crimson Lions was sitting at the table eating with Igneus and Taiyō's mother Aiko Vermillion. He was telling them about his promotion and what that meant for the magic squad. With that going on, Taiyō walked into the room covered in snow with two servants behind him panting. They had caught him at last as he was out on one of his adventurous expeditions. Even though he knew he was in big trouble, he grinned like a proud kid. "I guess they caught me." As he looked at the extra member sitting at the table, he realized who it was. "Sir Ardere Sir! It's been awhile!"
"Sure it has." The man chuckled. "Your parents tell me that you can't keep out of trouble. Always sneaking off, looking for adventure. Not caring about the dangers."
"Well, I love a good adventure." He smiled. "So what brings you by?"
"I'm here telling your father about my promotion to captain."
"Congratulations! Don't worry, Captain! I'll be strong enough to fight you once I get my Grimoire. Count on it!" Taiyō raised a fist out to Ardere with determination and a look of sincerity and seriousness. "My Burning Passion is to be The Best!"
"In that case, I have a preposition. When you receive your grimoire, I'll bring you into Crimson Lions. No Magic Knights exam needed since you're House Vermillion. What do you say?"
"Yes sir!" He saluted the captain. "I vow on this day to work even harder so I would make you and dad proud! I won't let this opportunity go to waste."
"Good."
"Now that's out of the way, why don't you go get cleaned up and come to eat dinner at the table?" Aiko smiled at the boy. She had a special gift for him in the form of a knitted scarf she made while he was out. She knew he couldn't sit still for very long, so she made up her mind to give him a scarf to keep him warm. "And just for today, no lecture from your father."
"Be glad your mother begged that I spare you on punishment for today as it is a special day."
Present Day He was ready to go meet the members of the Crimson Lions. He wrapped the scarf around his neck and ran down the stairs. He didn't have the mantle yet but he was getting it today and that had him pumped. "Mother! Father! I'm off to see the Lions!" He ran out of the mansion before he could get a response from his parents. "LUCIA, I NEED YOU TO TRANSPORT ME SOMEWHERE!"
"There is no need to yell, Sir Taiyō. I am here to transport you." She smiled at the young mage. "Where to?"
"Sosshi!"
"As you command." She opened the portal for the young mage as he darted through the portal.
After arriving, he ran to the location where The Crimson Lions were having their social. He knew most of the squad didn't know he would be joining so he wanted to make a grand entrance. He ran into the room with a grin on his face. "Hey everyone, I'm Tai-" He was interrupted when he tripped and collided into something, or more someone. He rubbed the back of his head as he winced hoping the other person was okay. When he opened his eyes and saw who he knocked into, he internally screamed. It was Lydia Ravencrest and that meant death. "SORRY MA'AM!" He bowed apologetically numerous times, hoping that she would forgive him.

[attr="class","ardereescroll"]Taking a sip from the whiskey had acquired, there was a smooth burn down his throat. Ardere was able to taste the individual ingredients, being a connoisseur of whiskey in general--especially bourbon. The true pleasure came from spending quality time with those he cared for. Long had they fought and scrambled for peace, but tonight if even just for a moment; they had it. Together as Lions and Magic Knights, their conviction was magnified. The Captain raised a glass to toast alongside his friends--the night had truly begun. [break][break] I've had them bring in samples from across the menu, but if you want anything for yourself you are more than welcome to order it. Enjoy yourselves. Eat til you fuckin' throw up. Giving a wink to the group, Ardere chuckled to himself. He hoped they did not actually vomit here, but he did truly mean for them to indulge themselves. Tasting a few different food items, they served mostly food similar to his homeland but that did not exclude steak. A juicy rare steak placed upon his plate and a glass of whiskey on the rocks--a perfect setup. [break][break] The group had grown a bit rowdy, but the Captain knew this was far from their limit. He only hoped they didn't rack up a damage bill to rival the food and board. After we get some food in our stomachs, I say we hit the springs. The water here does wonders on your muscles. I sure as hell need it. Feeling that sting in his tendons, he was not old yet but the battles and beatings he'd taken over the years often made him feel so. His body had been put through more than any man's should have. He was a weapon forged in war, one the Clover Kingdom could not do without now. They had lost enough. Taiyo! Welcome! While the Vermillion's entrance was lively, he did not expect any less from one of his House or a Lion. Though he'd likely regret bumping into Lydia. Ardere could only pray she didn't break anything. [break][break] In their private booth, the Lions drank and ate to their heart's content. The restaurant itself was beyond lively as the entire inn shook with their presence. They brought an intensity and attitude that few squads brought to a place. He was proud to be their Captain and he could only do his best to show them his appreciation. One day only memories of days like these would remain, and Ardere aimed to cherish every moment of them.

Hania had been thankful that his sister had the foresight to bring a set of clothing with her for him, not that he would have minded if he had to go to a shop nearby to get some if needed. The thing was his family wore nothing but the best and they were always tailored so getting something store-bought was a little below what he used to but if needs must he would have. Luckily it would seem as if he wouldn't really need to go and do that. He placed his hand to his chest and bowed to Lydia slightly before leaving the room and heading towards his sister's room with the aid of a receptionist telling him which room he was looking for. He thought over the last few weeks looking to Amostia for a bit as he landed on his shoulder "I'm unsure of what to do." he informed the spirit.
It wasn't normal for the white-haired teen to be in such a situation but here he was at a crossroads and he was unsure if he should be going left or right. He was always sure of his next step but things had been changing and quickly, he had no idea why but it wasn't a good thing as far as he was concerned. At that moment he just wanted to leave and go home but given that he had made his presence known which means he was there for the long haul. 'If you don't want to be here then you should go home' The spirit sent to him, Hania's eyes turned towards Asmostia "And if I did, where exactly where is home these days Amostia?" he asked the spirit who cocked his head a little looking at the youth he had found himself bound with 'That would be your decision.' he said simply.
"As useful as always." he sighed putting his hand on the handle of the door of his sister's room and walked in to find the clothing she brought for him. He looked around carefully but soon he came across a clothing bag hanging near the closet. Unzipping it what was waiting for him wasn't exactly what he was expecting. He was thinking about just going to a clothing shop nearby as they would likely have his clothing style but he knew if he didn't wear this he would insult his sister. She would have made sure to have spent no expense on this outfit. Still, it took him out of what he normally liked to wear "I'm sure the slap was just a precursor to this." he was now sure that the true punishment was what was hung in front of him.
Still, he moved into the bathroom and undressed quickly to take a shower, his hand going over the black mark on his left side. It had been stinging since he found that place and he knew he would need to let Lydia know about that alone. Once he had finished washing he dried himself placing the dirty towel in a washing basket the same with his clothing knowing that it would be picked up by housekeeping to be washed and returned. When done he got dressed. What was awaiting him was a set of black dress trousers, a black silk shirt, a white silk waistcoat with black hem, white socks and black shoes. He felt so awkward in such clothing, he placed his mantle back on and headed back downstairs tying his hair back with the black silk cord that was in the front left pocket.
"Seems Lydia has thought of everything." he said with a sigh, he could hear Amostia laughing in the back of his head "I swear, I'm going to melt you over a fire." he almost hissed but he managed to keep his calm knowing that walls had ears. The gift that had been made for him was wonderful for the style it was in but he felt so restricted within it. He was use to things that had flowing fabric, it gave him a sense of freedom, could be used as a distraction in battle and made him feel like he was being true to who he truly was. He knew people felt the same way about other things, some may even feel the same way about clothing it was just nice to know that he wasn't alone in feeling like something mattered that might not make sense to other people.
When he got to the dining room he covered his nose with his left hand as his right went to his head as he got a small trigger, just what he needed given he was on the edge of a full-blown coma thanks to 'that' place. He brought them down in disbelief as he witnessed the perfect storm happen. A spatial mage had opened a portal, a teenager a few years younger than himself came running through the portal like a hyperactive chipmunk and tripped over his own feet. If that wasn't bad enough he slid down the table towards his sister, knocking her off her chair and onto the floor, but it got even worse as he noticed on the floor a cracked wine glass. There was no wine on the floor, however, it seemed like his sister was wearing it. "I hope he has his affairs in order." he sighed.
He quickly grabbed a few clean fabric napkins from the table along the way "Are you alright Lyd?" he asked helping his sister up Amostia jumping off his shoulder onto the table as Hania helped dry off.
Ozma savored the clean and sweet flavor of the alcohol he had gotten and as he smelled the food that was presented to him and the mute mage quickly started to sample what was in front of him, instantly he was moving his utensils trying some of the vegetables they were presented. He found that despite how they were cooked with different seasonings and some with sauces the original flavor of the vegetables were still shining thru and were cooked perfectly. Ozma quickly cleaned his plate before he would aim to try other dishes. Seeing a portal open and a young man emerge with the mantel of the squad on his shoulders the Yuiee male blinked before he saw the newcomer make a very fatal mistake which was accidently slamming into the vice captain Lydia and spilling her wine. Instantly Ozma sucked in a tense breath knowing how his vice captain was with her alcohol and this newbie and most likely gained a death sentence.
Quickly pulled out his brush the mage started to flick it in the air to make a message towards the newcomer “you might want to run if they cant calm her down shes rather particular about her wine” he mentioned as he took a sip of his own alcohol before he would get up and grab another wine glass before he would grab the bottle she had poured from and got Lydia another glass to replace the one that was broken and currently covering her. “ here Miss Lydia its not much but I hope this helps” he offered as he wrote the words in the air. He knew that most likely her temper would flare but Ozma couldn’t blame her since Taiyo had rushed without even giving a thought to what might happen so now whatever would happen would be on his head.’please don’t let there be a bloodbath here im certain these dishes wont taste good with blood as an extra ingredient’ he thought to himself as he took his seat again and took a drink of his sake.
[attr="class","florencetext"] Lydia listened as the captain spoke about how he was having samples of all the food being brought out to them and he wanted them to eat till they got sick. While she was glad samples were being brought out she by no means planned on eating until she got sick. Sure the glass mage could eat more than she normally did as one day wouldn't really mess with her diet she however wasn't the type to force herself to eat until she got sick. Lydia would scan over the food set out for them while the captain spoke about the hot springs. It made sense that most of the food was from where Ard was originally from given the type of inn this was. However she would simply start off with a steak. So captain is the hot springs mixed gender or split? While the vice captain herself didn't care she figured others might after all if it was mixed genders she would simply just wear a swimsuit. [break][break] Perhaps she could even talk her younger brother into getting in the water as well but she wouldn't hold her breath. The glass mage was getting ready to take another drink of her wine as the new lion showed up. Lydia had of course already known about her because of Ard. Even with his yelling she didn't bother to look at him as she was use to most of the lions be loud. However it seems perhaps she should have as a few moments later she would be caught off guard by him crashing into her knocking her out of the chair and spilling her wine onto her new outfit. He would of course yell that he was sorry but the damage was already done. Hania was quick to help her dry off and ask if she was okay but the stain of the wine was already there. Ozma would then bring her another glass of wine. I'm fine Hania however my outfit doesn't seem to be. She would then take the glass of wine from Ozma thanking him before setting it on the table. [break][break] The head of the Ravencrest family would then turn her focus to Taiyo to say she was a little annoyed would be an understatement. She would then give the young mage a fake smile as she used intimidating aura on only him as she spoke. It's fine but I recommended not running inside it would be shame if you or someone else got hurt because of it.

[attr="class","silasreescroll"]Taiyo couldn’t believe it. Out of all the people he could bump into or knock over, why did it have to be her? Lydia Ravencrest. She was the most terrifying person Taiyo had heard of, by reputation of course. She was crazy fast and could wipe out an entire army before they would even know what was happening. Not only that but he spilt wine over her dress. By the looks of it, it was very expensive and probably new. He couldn’t afford to replace that.
[break][break]
The captain greeted him but that was it. Captain Ardere didn’t really move. Would he allow the young Vermillion to die so early in his career as a magic knight? Technically, he wasn’t even a magic knight yet since he didn’t have a mantle. What would they even tell his parents or close family? He could imagine it now.
[break][break]
Imagination
[break][break]
Lydia marched up to the House Vermilion estate with a dead Taiyo in her left hand, dragging him as she moved towards the mansion. After knocking, she would wait on the door to be opened. “Ah, Mrs. Vermilion.” She would throw the corpse to his mother’s feet. “Your son is dead.”
[break][break]
”What do you mean my son is dead?!” To say she was angry would be an understatement. Her child was lying at her feet, dead. ”How could this happen.”
[break][break]
Lydia looked down at her coldly and folded her arms. “Sorry to inform you, your son was being a hyperactive idiot and clearly wasn’t taught not to run in doors. It resulted in me having to be the one to execute him for what he did. Do you see a problem?”
[break][break]
”No ma’am. Carry on.” Obviously she would find a problem with it but this was Lydia Ravencrest. You don’t challenge or rival her. It was a literal death sentence. All she could do was give an innocent smile before closing the door.
[break][break]
Reality
[break][break]
Taiyo watched another member of the squad rush to Lydia’s side, asking if she was alright. He was referring to her as Lyd which meant that they were close. He would never dare attempt to call her that since that was probably a death sentence. Then there was another squad member, giving her more wine to replace the spilt one. She took it and put it on the table while assuring the first squad member who seemed to be named Hania that she was alright while her outfit was not. That statement alone sent chills down Taiyo’s spine. He was still bowing to her in an apologetic state, apologizing to her.
[break][break]
When she turned her attention to him, he started to back away slowly. Her gaze added to the fake smile and the aura was enough to spook the life out of Taiyo. Her words of advice were unexpected… It's fine but I recommend not running inside. It would be a shame if you or someone else got hurt because of it. Even so, it was too much for the boy. He passed out.
[break][break]
After 2 minutes, the boy sat up, hyperventilating. He was breathing unsteadily until he caught himself. What happened?
