It had been a while since Echo was last at the Yuuie estate, a few weeks to be exact. He had felt bad that the last time he was here he had left in the wee hours of the morning, and did not get a chance to say goodbye to Hinota or Junjie. However a lot had happened since he was last here and he was plenty happy to get to share his experiences with Hinota. However this time would be a bit different as this gathering was going to be a more family oriented ones this time Echo had brung his father and elder brother along. Due to recent events the Jaegar family had grown to have a much stronger bond so they were getting along much much better. Even though Echo wanted this gathering to be family oriented he had 2 other reasons for his father and brother coming along. The first of those reasons was that Echo wanted to have his father talk to Hinota’s father, with the possibility that the two could come to an agreement for the noble children to be wed. The other reason was that Echo had somehow gotten himself obligated to participate in the magic knight exams, and his father and brother were coming along to spectate the spectacle.
Johnathan had sent notice well in advance to the Yuuie estate that he along with his two sons would be traveling there to have a meeting, however he left the details of said meeting vague so the family would most likely believe it to be all business. The trio of Jaegars would be posted outside of their estate waiting for the Yuiee to send their spatial mage to take them to the edge of the estate, where they would then have someone escort them through the fog around the property. Johnathan would look to Echo before saying “Echo, tell me how exactly it is you managed to get into a street fight? You know such a thing cost us quite a hefty fine, and not only that but now you must participate in these horrid magic knight exams.” Echo would laugh before saying “Its actually a lot easier than you think father, but joining those damn exams wasn’t a part of my plan either.” Echo would then reach into his jacket inside pocket pulling out a cigarette lighting it with his magic, before he would take a nice long drag.
As Echo pulled on his cigarette his elder brother Tristan Julian Jaegar the fourth would begin to speak saying “Both of you should have a better outlook on these exams and the magic knights as a whole. Maybe you will get accepted into my squad little brother, and then we can go on missions and build the brotherly bond we should have had all these years." Echo would laugh sarcastically before saying “Yeah not a chance you nerd. And just because im being forced to participate doesn’t mean I have to join anybody’s squad. I rather swallow rocks and dirt before I do that.” The only black haired male of the group would sigh before pushing his glasses up and saying “I suppose I can’t expect you two brutes to feel any differently, I am one of the few Jaegars who are magic knights at current.” What he said was very true as Julian was one of 2 Jaegars who were magic knights, and he was in the Azure Deer squad.
Just as he finished talking Johnathan would feel a flow of strange flow of mana, most likely from a portal about to form. Johnathan would take notice before the portal had even appeared saying “Well I guess our ride is here.” And not long after Echo and Julian would sense it as well, causing the youngest of the Jaegars present to toss his cigarette to the ground and stomp it beneath his foot. Echo would say to himself “No need to carry this with me Hinota said she hates the smell of these things, but it helps relieve the stress sadly.” Before too long the portal would actually appear and the group would see a silhouette of someone beginning to come through it.

Several weeks had passed since the red-headed hunter had been on the Yuiee estate grounds, he had left in the early hours of the morning being escorted to the edge of the mist by Hinota's maid Luli. From then things had been uneventful, the doll-like mage still wanted out of the estate but currently was being forbidden. They were afraid that she would have signed up to become a royal knight and they were right to be concerned as she would have done exactly that, it hadn't made much difference however as she had been conscripted to the royal knights by the wizard king himself. This didn't truly sit well with her family but at the end of the day, there wasn't much they could do. Loyalty, obedience, duty and discipline were qualities that the family followed and so would follow the order given to them in regards to Hinota.
The doll-like mage had been away from the estate training with those she would have to be fighting with in regards to the daemon threat when the letter asking for an audience with her father was received. When her father had seen the seal he was confused as to why another noble house, especially this noble house would be reaching out to his own. Outside of their duties as magic knights, the Yuiee family kept to themselves within their estate, their own culture and Clover were like oil and water so the family had opted to stay true to their roots. Nonetheless, the audience was granted and so a letter of what time suited the head of the Yuiee was given and a time, he was careful to make sure that it wouldn't interfere with the normal hunts the other may have been planning to go on in that time frame.
He then sent a letter to Hinota instructing her she must be home the night before, needless to say, the doll-like mage was less than happy about it but knew she had to comply. She informed her captain and Valo that a family matter had come up and needed to be addressed but would return as quickly as she could. She was scared of her family and what they would do to her if she ignored that she was told to go home, and she was still quite family orientated. Luli and Junjie had gotten the carriage ready and in the middle of the night, they had travelled back to the Yuiee estate. Due to just how much of a toll the training was taking on her with what time it was, she slept the entire journey home, not wanting to wake her Junjie had picked her up gently and walked through the mist with Luli by his side on guard.
She had awoken in her palace with Luli waking her to eat "Where are we?" she asked still tired so unsure of what was really going on "The palace of serenity princess." the woman commented without thinking anything of it "W-we're home? How did I get to bed? Who changed me?" she seemed frantic and as she became very alert very quickly "Yes princess we're home. Junjie carried you, I was with him the entire time so you were never alone and when he left I bathed and dressed you for bed." she said trying to settle the flower mage, it did help but not by much. "We should get you prepared for the day, it would seem there is a meeting between your father and the boy who stayed a few weeks ago father." she informed her lady.
This put a puzzled look on her face before she shook her head "No. Most definitely not. I won't go" she said pulling the blankets back over her head, this puzzled the maid to no end as she had only ever seen her act like this when she was younger and scared. "Are you alright princess?" she would ask unsure of what to do. "No. That man is a monster. I would rather go fight the daemons and I don't really want to be doing that either." she said curling, Luli didn't want to call her lady a primadonna as she knew it would be unlike her but still, she did think she may be over-exaggerating just a bit "Princess I'm sure he's not that bad." she said trying to get information on the situation so she could pass it to her brother. She looked out from under her blanket.
"He sent his nephew across the kitchen for speaking out. He almost killed his own son. Called their female friend a whore. had them kneeling like servants. They were forced to say in a guest house. Oh, and the first four were done right in front of me, he also only spared me his ire because I was a guest but apparently if I upset him again even I wouldn't be spared." she was clearly uncomfortable in this meeting, Luli bit her lip "Please bathe princess, I will go inform Junjie." she said rushing off to inform her brother who was just as troubled as his sister. After bathing, Luli helped her dress, while doing her hair and makeup. "You'll need to wear a veil today princess." she was informed, the doll-like mage hated the things but knew they were required when meeting others, especially males.
Today she was dressed in a royal blue silk hanfu with embroidered cranes, flowers and stars in silver thread, a transparent black silk was placed as a second layer making it seem more regal, the normal silk cords and ties were placed to keep the dress section in place and dangled elegantly, over that she wore a highly embroidered sky blue semi-transparent robe embroidered with flowers. wore pink jade earrings, blue jade bracelet, her hair was done up simply with three hairpins, on each side were pink flowers with blue butterflies while the one in the middle was a simple white jade. she adorned her sky blue veil and picked up a silk fan that had sparrows embroidered into it. Standing she slipped into her royal blue slippers and walked towards the meeting area with Junjie. Luli had been sent to fetch their guests.
When the families spatial mage opened a portal Luli walked forward through it and bowed the same way Hinota had. "I am Luli the personal maid to the princess Hinota, I have been sent to escort you through the mists and estate to my lord. Please follow me." she said politely bowing before heading back through the portal and walking them to their destination. "My lord, your guests have arrived." she said after bowing, Hinota had entered the room only a few moments before and gripped her sleeve but remained quiet. As the three men entered Hinota would bow in her normal method and her father would bow slightly in respect to his guests.
"Please come, sit." he had one of the rooms converted to a more western-style knowing not everyone would be willing to bend from their preferred ways and he wasn't wishing to upset the tranquillity of his home over a table and some chairs. "Would you prefer western tea and snacks or like to try what is traditional to my homeland?" he would ask the three men. It would have been the first time Johnathan would have seen Hinota dressed appropriately for her station and the first time Echo would have seen what she meant about being separated from everyone as her face was covered by her veil. It may have made her more alluring in some people's eyes but there was a sadness and fear within her glistening forest green eyes.

Moments after the portal opened in front of the three Jaegars, a unfamiliar face would emerge through it. Once through the portal the unfamiliar woman would introduce herself as the personal maid to Hinota, which would prompt Echo to smile before saying “Oh so you’re the sister of Junjie. I was wondering when I would get the chance to meet you. I had heard some great things about you… well I guess great isn’t the right word more like nice things.” Julian would then smack Echo on the back of the head saying “No need to put your foot in your mouth brother. Come on you two brutes let us go.” Julian would be the first to walk through the portal, with Johnathan saying “Yes lets go Echo.” He would then grab Echo by the collar of his jacket before throwing him through the portal and then walking in behind him.
Once on the other side of the portal they would be in the fog on the edge of the Yuuie estate. The three males would follow the woman Luli until they had made it to the part of the estate where the meeting would be taking place. Once they had arrived the group would be greeted by Hinota and her father. Hinota would simply bow as she normally would, followed by her father doing the same only ever so slightly. The Jaegar men would each perform a bow in a similar manner trying to respect the Yuuie family’s culture. After his bow Echo would wave to Hinota saying “Hello there Hinota how’s it going? Havent seen you since I had to come save you and your little brother in the dungeon. How is the guy anyway? Why isn’t he here for this get together of families? I even dragged my nerd of a brother along so they could be all buddy buddy.”
As Echo spoke his older brother would push up his glasses before speaking saying “Yes im sorry I know I was not part of the original guest list but we have somewhere to go as a family when we leave so I figured I would just tag along. I do apologize for any inconvenience and hope you will forgive me.” Echo would laugh while patting Julian on the back saying “Look at you brother always being a nice guy. Im sure the Yuuies don’t mind you being here. This is a family event after all.” After the introductions were done Hinota’s father would ask if the group wanted western style tea and snacks or something from their homeland to which Johnathan would step up and respond to.
He would approach the father of Hinota, while extending his hand to shake saying “Something from your homeland is fine. I am Tristan Johnathan Jaegar the third by the way. I like to properly greet anyone I may be doing potential business with.” Johnathan would then wait for the male to reply. As Johnathan had took note of all the mana signatures present he would sense a familiar mana, however when he would glance at its source through his corner of his eye he could not recognize the woman. He would then place his gaze back on Hinota’s father before saying “Is that your daughter Hinota? The mana feels familiar but when I last met her she was dressed, in a less than favorable way to how she is now. I mean no disrespect sir, I just want clarification.” Meanwhile Echo and Julian had decided to make themselves comfortable and sit down.
After hearing his father’s words Echo would look to his fellow red head saying “Come come now father. Yes that’s her were you not paying attention she is a princess. Not that it matter but come on and sit your butt down next to me and Julian.” Johnathan would then clear his throat before saying “Right my apologies.” Before sitting down next to his sons. Once seated Johnathan would try to begin making the meeting start off by saying “We are both very important people and time is of the utmost value so I will get straight to the point. I understand from my son and nephew that your culture handles marriages almost like a business arrangement. I have a dream that House Jaegar and House Yuuie can grow to higher positions within the kingdom and so I have come here to ask you… What must we do to have your daughter Hinota and my son Echo be wed together?”
Upon hearing his father’s words Julian would stand up in shock before glaring at his father and Echo. He would then pull off his glasses saying “Father! This is what we came here for?!?! I thought this was to be a true business meeting?” Johnathan’s mana would flare up a bit as he glared at Julian, which would scare him and cause him to take back to his seat. He would look at his son with a gentler look as the mana would die down before saying “This is real business you fool! How do you think the royals became who they are and have held such magical power generation after generation? The crossing of noble families brings forth higher magical power in their offspring, or that’s how it normally works.”

The woman looked to Echo for a moment as she spoke of how she must be Junjie's sister after she told him that she was Hinota's maid "Yes, that's right." she would say however was caught off guard about the rest of the conversation before she could say anything it would seem as if his elder brother would slap him at the back of the head which made the woman pause for a moment. Just by these interactions, she didn't see anything of the day going well. "I thank you for your kind compliments my lord, however, you shouldn't be saying things to a woman it could be taken wrongly, besides, I am merely a maid and not worth a second thought of your time." she said her voice was submissive, what one would expect of a maid of her homeland. She couldn't afford to cause insult to guests so was very careful.
She watched as the father then grabbed Echo by the back of his coat and all but threw him through the portal before walking through after the trio of men where she helped them through the mist. She didn't think Hinota was lying but at the same time, she had thought perhaps she was overplaying it, but seeing that alone made her anxious about what this meeting might be about. All she could do now was keep watch until she could speak to her brother and let him know what she had witnessed first-hand, it was unlikely he would like it either. Soon enough everyone would be in the grand hall of the star palace and respects would be given and returned. Echo was the first to speak and spoke to Hinota first which made her hands go to her face as she shook her head.
She looked to her father for a moment who was looking less than content but understood different cultures, had they been at the Jaegar household then this wouldn't have annoyed him as much as it did currently. "Is your son always so disrespectful to their host, father and siblings?" he would ask Johnathan. Hinota brought down her hands from her face "Father's speak first as the strength behind their houses, especially if the houses haven't formally met Lord Jaegar." she informed him her voice mild, almost timid to speak standing next to her own father. "Everything is carefully navigated so proper respect is given and received from all parties." she continued explaining so he could understand why her father had made such a comment, her culture was like walking around in a field filled with landmines and she was quite sure he was likely going to step on each one.
She was surprised that he hadn't asked Zeus about his culture because it would have made slipups like these avoidable. It was then her father stepped in "Ozma is the eldest of my children, my heir in fact as tradition goes. My daughter is my youngest." he corrected the red-headed youth. His first impressions were not all that high of the men that stood in front of him but he spoke not a word about it. Hinota's father looked at the other son of the Jaegar who again had spoken before his father but at least he had shown enough respect to apologise for what could have been seen as inconveniencing him and his family "You have nothing to worry about, it isn't uncommon for son's to accompany their father's on things." the man explained showing no disrespect to Julian "Thank you for the concern, however, it is appreciated." he finished off.
It was then that Echo once again butted in making the elder Yuiee close his eyes for a moment, he was getting frustrated as though he knew things wouldn't always go as planned he at least expected to be respected in his own home. It was when he felt movement towards him he opened his hand and saw the other extend his hand, he normally didn't do such a thing but the man had been respectful enough to at least greet the way that was customary for his culture so he would reciprocate the gesture and extend his own hand. "I am Ichirou Kazuhiko Yuiee. I can understand the sentiment even if our cultures do not do things the same way. It is a pleasure to formally meet you, how would you prefer to be addressed?" he would ask his voice respectful as he spoke. Hearing the answer to his earlier question, he would look to Luli who bowed and went to deal with the unspoken order.
"Yes, this is my delicate petal Hinota." he said, Hinota bowed once again as she normally did "I must apologise for how she was dressed when she entered your home..." he said his voice calm but stern making Hinota grip the sleeves of her hanfu knowing she was being scolded "It is unbecoming of someone of her station and an insult to her host to turn up dressed as if she was a servant." his voice showed he was displeased making her look down ashamed but she didn't speak a word, anything she truly wanted to say would just get her into more trouble "Please forgive my transgression to your home my lord, it was not my intention to insult you or your family with my senseless actions." she said her voice still timid.
"No respect was given and so none was taken, my daughter was the one who created the confusion and so the disrespect was given to you and for that, I do sincerely apologise." he said watching what happened next and releasing an exasperated sigh as Echo once again spoke. Hinota took her seat which she was helped with by Junji, it felt so odd sitting on a chair in her own home but knew it was to make their guests more comfortable. This however was just after her father sat, it was then that the conversation got serious. He listened to everything that the elder Jaegar had to say, it was true as the heads of their families were busy men "Arranged marriages are indeed how we do things, the young can not be trusted to know what is best for them and their family line." he said to Johnathan, something he was sure the elder Jaegar would be able to understand.
It was then that Johnathan would drop the bomb that had brought her back home from important training that she needed to be doing, away from Valo and Agneya but most importantly just tore her heart out. Her eyes became glassy but she held back the tears as it would be unbecoming for her to cry right now. The father and daughter could only watch what happened next "I was not expecting a proposal for betrothal, I must admit." Ichirou said before moving into the folds of his hanfu and bringing out a letter "I received this not too long ago from someone concerned, they warned me against allowing union with your family." he said showing a letter with a broken silvery-blue seal on it "I must admit, I was sceptical about this person's claims until I seen everything that had happened here and for now I do not believe that there can be a union if I am perfectly honest with you." his voice was respectful on the matter.

Right after introductions were done Echo would have immediately made a bad impression on Hinota’s father as the man would ask Johnathan if Echo was always so disrespectful to people. The comment would make Echo fall to the floor out of sadness and disappointment. He would then get on the floor on his knees before bowing as he sobbed a bit in a almost comedic fashion saying “Please forgive me sir! I really didn’t mean to disrespect you! Its just I… I like your daughter a lot! And I don’t know much about your culture but maybe you could teach me so that I not ever disrespect you again!”
Johnathan would then look to Echo with a menacing glance, which would prompt him to get up and sit back down next to Julian. Hinota would then inform Echo of the order of speaking in situations like this, however Echo thought he had already caused enough trouble so he had decided not to speak until spoken to. Echo was not like his father or brother, while they were business men who could seemingly navigate through a multitude of situations. Echo found himself being more of he outward and say and do what comes to mind type which would often get him into trouble, however he never bothered to change because the people he truly cared about never seemed to mind. And just as Echo had come to the conclusion to not speak anymore he would realize he messed up again by calling Ozma, Hinota’s little brother when he was in fact older.
“I apologize it must have slipped my mind… or maybe it never came up. I don’t know I just apologize… I’ll be shutting up now.” Julian would look to Echo as he pushed up his glasses and said “Yes brother that may be the wisest choice I’ve ever seen you make in life.” Shortly after this the head of house Yuuie would forgive Julian for any inconvenience the male thought he was causing by coming without announcement, stating it was common for sons to accompany their father on business. It was then the man would tell Johnathan his name saying it was a pleasure to formally meet him, before the two would shake hands.
Ichirou would then confirm to Johnathan that the girl he saw was indeed Hinota. He would then apologize for how Hinota may have been dressed within his home, but Johnathan would let off a gentle smile before saying “I don’t mind it at all. People wear whatever they want in life, and my home is no different. I wish for people to come as they are. As the head of a family dedicated to charity I see no problem with it at all, no apologies are needed.” That was when Johnathan would go on to drop the bomb that he had came here holding. Ichirou would say that he was not expecting for Johnathan to ask for Echo and Hinota would be wed, saying that he was a bit surprised. Even with this shock the man may have agreed to it but he would then drop a bomb of his own.
Ichirou would pull out a envelop from the inside of his hanfu, which had a wax seal with a familiar design and color. Upon seeing the seal the look on Echo’s and Johnathan’s face would instantly change. The head of the Yuuie house would say that he had received the letter not too long ago from a concerned person saying that Ichirou shouldn’t allow a union between the two households. The man said he was skeptical about the letter and its contents, but after how the meeting had gone so far he did not believe the he would allow such a marriage. Echo would jump up in anger but not at the man’s choice, but at the fact Velondra had actually went through with her threat. He slammed his hand on the table in front of him as he jumped up saying “Sir I mean no disrespect to you or your house, but this is total bull! That letter came from my god sister and she clearly has a vendetta against our family… more specifically my father!”
Johnathan’s mana would flare up again as he would say “Echo calm yourself and lower your voice! We are indoors and in the home of another noble so you shall show respect!” Sensing the mana of his father getting dark and sinister he would sit back down but would leave his angry look on his face. Julian stayed sitting looking clueless as to what was going on, as he truly didn’t know what was going on. Johnathan would then calm himself before addressing the other head of house saying “I apologize again for me and my son’s outburst. However this time he has full reason to be upset, and he is completely right this problem has presented itself due to me and my past actions… I really wish I could have changed things but it seems I have plagued my family unintentionally…” Julian would look to his father saying “Father what is the meaning of this? I recognize the wax on the letter but why is it of importance here in this instance? It appears to have the same color as letters that have come to the estate in the past.” Johnathan would let out a sigh before saying “Yes it is the same wax, and it came from my god daughter... you and Echo's god sister.” He would then look to Ichirou and say “Lord Yuuie, I ask that please ignore that letter, as the sender is nothing more than a person who wishes to see my family fall into the darkness… as my son said he really likes your daughter so I see this as more than a business arrangement. It is also a matter of the heart, and I take matters of the heart far more serious than any business arrangement!"

Ichirou went silent watching what happened, he had to wonder if every noble family was so over the top as the red-headed youth all but fell out of his chair to the floor bowing and crying in a very melodramatic fashion. He apologised for his actions and even commented on how he liked the flower mage a lot and that he would be willing to learn the culture. Ichirou looked to Hinota from a sideways glance "And this is why we kept you on the estate and behind curtains." he said sternly making her bite her bottom lip lightly as she nodded her head a little "Yes father, I know you wish the best for me." she said not wanting to fight him or give him her true thoughts on the way she had been brought up, it would just create more issues. She would just remain a dutiful daughter and play her part.
Hinota moved uncomfortably seeing the glance that Johnathan gave Echo and looked over at Junjie for a moment, the man remained still and quiet, he was aware of what was going on but he kept to his position. "In fairness Lord Jaegar, only my age was known to you and as you said I look far older than my age." she didn't seem all that happy when she got to the last part of that comment. "Seems your son has a lot to learn in regards to women." Ichirou said to Johnathan with a small smile "No woman wants to be told they look older than what they are, they prefer to be flattered and admired for their beauty, grace and youth." he informed the young hunter "My daughter's own beauty and elegance makes flowers pale in comparison do you not think?" he would ask the young man.
"F... father... p... please stop it." there was a blush on her cheeks as she heard the genuine love in his voice as he spoke about her in such a way. It had been the first time that Hinota had spoken out when not reacting to a question or explaining something, he just chucked at the reaction. It was normal for her to be bashful and she had done nothing to disrespect him or the men on the other side of the cherrywood table. All it had proven was his point to Echo. He then listened again as the two son's talked "I see, I am not the only father with children that have sibling rivalries." he commented to the elder Jaegar seeing he had his hands full with the pair. It was then the conversation changed to how Hinota was dressed once more, she was trying to change herself but it had caused issues.
"Yes, people should come how they are but she decided to go as a maid something she is not." she could hear the scolding once more as if he was trying to remind her of her station, she knew fully well what her station was but, the world outside the mist was different from her home. Everyone else was able to change how they looked as they went to do their duties or even for social reasons in the rest of Clover but she was expected to remain that picture-perfect doll that she had been raised to be. She realized that was why she never felt normal because she was being kept in a box and not allowed to come out of it, when outside with Valo and even Echo to an extent she felt like she could breathe, she felt... normal.
Both Hinota and Ichirou noticed the instant change within Johnathan and Echo when they saw the letter that Ichirou was holding within his hand. The moment that Echo stood up and slammed his hands on the table in anger it caused Hinota to flinch and pull back, her sakura blossoms moving to guard her and her father much like they had done for Zeus when she visited the Jaegar estate. Junjie's blade was already drawn and pointed at Echo's throat without a second's hesitation, he said not a word and by the estates standards had done nothing wrong. He was a bodyguard and Echo's outburst had frightened the one he was tasked to protect. "Hinota, calm yourself. You are safe, I know you were startled and got afraid my lotus but everything is fine." he said moving to hug his shook daughter, this was one of the reasons he believed she should have never become a knight, she was fragile and needed to be taken care of.
Soon enough the petals dropped and what would be seen was Ichirou hugging his daughter comforting her as she had been clearly shaken by the sudden outburst. "I care nothing of your families inner squabbling that is between you and your family, you have disturbed the tranquillity of my home and frightened my daughter with your actions." he said his voice calm but cold, clearly he had, had enough of this. "I am sorry you have wasted your time but I can no permit a union of our houses, your son is far too volatile and I worry for my daughter's safety due to it." he said calmly as he stood "Junjie, stand down there is no need for action to be taken due to a young noble losing their temper like a child." he said taking his seat once more.
As ordered the silent man had sheathed his sword and took position behind Hinota's chair. "I think we are done here Johnathan unless there is another matter of business you wish to discuss?" it was clear as crystal that there was no way a betrothal would be accepted on the side of the Yuiee. "I do not care if it is a matter of the heart for him and that you take such matters far more serious than business, there are rules and traditions that are followed within my family and it is clear that she requires someone within our culture to be her husband." he said making Hinota looking down, she knew her father's mind had been made up and the chances of ever-changing it would be beyond slim, she just wanted to go drown herself in one of the ponds at that moment.
"My father knows what is best for me and like a dutiful daughter I will do as expected of me." she whispered but she felt her heartbreaking as tears rolled down her cheeks knowing her fate was all but sealed now.

When Echo had stood up in anger he was melted with Junjie’s sword to his throat yet again. Although he had learned his lesson from Hinota last time so he would not move to catch the blade, even though with his magic and skillset he could have easily done so. He would still do as his father had wanted by returning to his sit and remained quiet. The atmosphere of the room would clearly change, and everyone could see it. After returning to his seat Echo would look to Junjie and say “Aye man come on and cut that out please! It was really hard for me to not grab it again out of sure instinct. See I do remember some things…”
The teen would then turn to see that he had startled Hinota and that was why Junjie had reacted the way he did. The boy seemed shocked at his own actions and would look at Hinota saying “Hinota! Im so sorry! Please tell me you are okay… I didn’t.. I didn’t mean to scare you. It was completely an accident, I just lost my temper for a bit.” The red head male would then shed a tear as he truly felt bad about what he had done.
Ichirou was surely at the end of his rope by this point, as he had outright said he said he cared nothing of the problems their family faced. He would then go on to say the group had disturbed the peace of his home, and that Echo was too volatile for him and Hinota to be wed. He cared greatly about the safety of his daughter, and that is what Echo would grab a hold of as it was one thing they had in common. The teen would stand up once more clenching his fist in front of him, with a face full of sadness as if he was holding back a mountain full of tears.
Julian would look at Echo while pushing his glasses up on his face before saying “Echo are you ok?” Echo would then release his fist before closing it once again only even harder. He would move from where he stood, getting closer to Ichirou before he would sit on the ground in front of him on his knees yet again. As he sat the tears would begin to run down his face, he would then begin to speak saying “Lord Yuuie, I understand you don’t know me. I also understand you care about your daughter’s safety. But one thing you should know is that I care about Hino a lot! Probably more than anyone I ever have in my life. From the very moment I met her she has showed me nothing but kindness and compassion. She protected me when I couldn’t even protect myself…”
His speech would be interrupted by the overwhelming flow of tears coming from his eyes. He would then regain enough composure to try and finish talking saying “I did the same for her! I risked my life and I would do it again and again for her. She is my shield protecting me from the harm of the world, and I am her sword slaying any evil that wishes to cause her harm. And sir I mean no disrespect but I know for a fact that Hinota hates the way you are treating her. She wants to stop being bound by the chains of this estate… she wants to go out and live life like she was normal!” Johnathan would snarl before saying “Echo that is enough! You dare disrespect this man in his home! How could you do such a thing?”
The red head teen would turn on ever so slightly to look at his father from the corner of his eye before saying “No father this needs to be said! I don’t care what any of you wish to do to me for saying it, I will gladly accept any punishment you or Lord Yuuie wish to give me father. But one punishment I will not accept is being kept from this one person I love and care for so dearly. Hinota is beautiful, delicate, and caring! And I will do whatever I must to be by her side!” Johnathan would stand up and walk over to Echo before looking down on his son who was still on his knees crying before he would speak saying “You are my son correct? You are the heir to house Jaegar correct? Then why do you bow, begging, and crying. Stand up and speak what it is you want into existence! If you want this girl as much as you say you do begging and crying will not help you achieve that.”
Julian too would stand up reinforcing what their father had said by saying “Yes Echo I have never seen you like this… but if Hinota is that important to you than she holds equal importance to me too!” After hearing words of encouragement from his father and brother Echo would turn to face lord Yuuie again before he would wipe his tears and completely regain his composure. Once he was ready he would then speak to the man saying “Please Lord Yuuie, if this is your delicate flower… let me be the one to care for her and make sure she grows. I promise you I will protect her always, and if I fail I will commit the act of seppuku to atone for my failure. I am sure a man of your cultural background know what that is…”

Junjie remained silent as he was spoken to, right now he was nothing more than a statue only moving to make sure his lord and lady were safe. Known only to the head of the house was that his family were trained in the shadow arts as well as more honourable so they could be a sword, shield or dagger depending on what was called for at the time. He was surprised that two of his family had been chosen to look after the youngest instead of them looking after the heir as was normal, but as Hinota grew he started to understand why. The girl held no wish to hurt and so that gave her a huge weakness as she would always want to help those in need even if it put her in danger, which had become more apparent since becoming a magic knight.
He had gained thirty strokes of a cane for failing to do his duty that day, his sister two had received punishment but it was healed afterwards unlike his own. A reminder that failure would not be excused when it came to the young princess of the family. His father still hadn't forgiven them for their failure and both had been ordered not to speak of their punishment to her, the agreed knowing that she would feel guilty and do her best to help only getting herself into more trouble. It was why one of them was now constantly with her and if she left the estate they both escorted her. This way nothing untoward could happen, they both knew that she didn't like it but if anything happened to her they would be at fault and she too would be punished. This was something no one wanted at the end of the day.
Hinota looked up when she was spoken to by Echo and nodded a little "I... I can handle things suddenly happening when away from my families estate and adapt accordingly but in my own home, where everything is peaceful and tranquil... I... I don't handle it well. I become startled and scared." she explained "I... I'm sorry for disrupting things, it... it wasn't my intention. I don't handle aggression well," she whispered as she stood and bowed to the three men low but she didn't kowtow, she believed she had done wrong but it was a reaction to what had been done before it. Still, she believed that she needed to apologise, once done she sat down on her chair once more going silent as the men spoke of things that at the end of the day she had absolutely no say in. She may not like it but it was just the way of things.
He listened to the young man's passionate words "Please call my daughter by her full given name." he requested, his eyes going back to the letter that he had brought forward when this whole thing started. "I can see you care for her, however, you are not ready to be a husband especially to someone like her." he said sighing a little as his eyes closed thinking "Those are qualities that many young women have even within your culture, perhaps you would be better off with one of them." he said opening his eyes and looking to Echo once more who had done something that took everyone off guard by the looks of it, he kowtowed to Hinota's father. "For someone who seems to know very little of our culture you know the etiquette for when an insult is given or worshipping is to happen." he said seemingly confused.
"My daughter is a pacifist and would rather be harmed herself than allow harm to come to another." he said he was frustrated by that fact, but, he also knew that given how she was raised and by her own forming traits she really was just a pure soul wanting harmony in the world. Hinota's eyes went wide as she covered her mouth as she let out a small gasp at what Echo had said, his words were, of course, true but she had never voiced them to anyone but Valo "My father knows what's best for me Lord Jaegar and does what is best for me to grow into a respectable woman and dutiful wife." she said softly, she may not agree with her family or father on things but she did believe they were doing what they believed best for her and for that she should be thankful.
Ichirou's eyes narrowed "Do not dare speak of things you know nothing of and do not understand." his voice was cold towards the young hunter "Perhaps I gave you too much credit when I spoke of your etiquette." he said showing he was growing increasingly irritated. "You will accept any punishment your father and I will give you..." she said only pausing for a brief second "Then you will not see my daughter after this day." with that he stood "Junjie, please take them to the palace of the sun, if they do not wish to go there, escort them off the estate." he said bowing to the three men, Hinota stood and bowed in her usual manner "My lord kowtowing was the proper response, the thing that bit him was the insult given while doing it. It meant that his action wasn't genuine." she said before bowing again and moving to follow her father out of the room.
It was then Ichirou stopped and turned to look at Johnathan, "Had your other son been the one that you had offered for this union, I would have accepted, he seems to have his head on straight and is respectful to the chain of command. You did well raising him and should be proud of the man he has become." he said before bowing once more and turning to leave. Once Ichirou and Hinota had left the room Junjie looked at the three "I'm surprised my lord didn't ask me to escort you off the premises right away but gave you a choice. So, which are you choosing my lords?" he would ask the trio waiting for an answer. Echo would know due to their last interaction that due to the structure within the estate the three were higher than himself so would do as requested so longs it didn't countermand any order he had been given or was on the estate

It comes a time in a person’s life where they are tested… they will have their will test, their mind tested, and above all else they will have their heart tested. For Echo today was the day his heart would be tested, and not only his heart but also his mind. He had said everything that he could given the situation at hand, not only that but it would seem he also talked himself straight to his own demise. One could see it on his face that his words were all true, and his feelings were all real yet he would still be met with a negative response. All the crying and begging he had done had been for nothing, all for him just to hear the very words he never wanted to hear.
After Echo had told the head of the Yuuie household how he knew his daughter wanted a different life, the man in question would assign to him the punishment of never seeing Hinota from this day forward. Echo would look at the man as he got up from his seat and began to walk out of the room, with his face holding a look of shock and utter confusion. He was surprised the man would so quickly jump to this course of action. He would begin to cry once more saying “Lord You… Lord Yuuie please… don’t take away the first person to bring me true happiness. Is my life and my word as a man not enough?”
As the man left he would address Johnathan one last time before he would exit the room saying that, maybe if Johnathan had offered Julian to wed Hinota then he might have agreed on the deal seeing as Julian was clearly the better raised out of the two males. Johnathan would smile before slightly bowing to the man out of respect before saying “I appreciate the sentiment, however I believe your daughter is only 16 if I remember correctly. Julian is almost a whole decade older so I do not believe that would have worked… But thank you for your time Ichirou, maybe next time we can have a true meeting for business. My family does have a variety of services you and your people may have need of.”
When Echo heard what Hinota’s father had said to his own father, the very blood in his veins began to boil from anger. He hated that it seemed like very few accepted him, and almost everyone like Julian. The feeling he had gotten from that situation was similar to the feeling he had always gotten from his father in the past. It would appear this was just how the cookie would crumble, and something Echo would have to endure his whole life. He would look to Hinota before she could make her exit saying “Hinota.. please say something. I don’t want this to be the last time I see you.” The tears had begun to flow just as heavy as they once did before he would continue on. “I… know it hasn’t been long since that day… but we got to know each other little by little with each time after that. You felt comfortable enough to show me home, your identity, and your true feelings… I just don’t wanna stop getting to know you yet…”
He would then begin to cry more and more until his tears brought him to a helpless position on the floor. After Hinota and Ichirou would walk out Junjie would look to the three Jaegars needing them to make a choice, a choice the he was surprised the three would even be getting. The choice they needed to make was if they wish to go to the palace of the sun or to be escorted off the estate grounds. Echo wasn’t ready to leave with such a wild outcome as the result and so he would take to his feet wiping his tears before saying to Junjie “Take me to where it is your master requested we go, I will not leave the estate with such a sorry outcome.” Julian would push his glasses up on his face before saying to Echo “Brother I think its best if we all just leave… Maybe Lord Yuuie is right you can find another girl to be your wife someday.” Echo would then charge at his brother before grabbing him by the shirt collar and saying “YOU LEAVE THEN NERD! I will not accept this outcome! Yes that is the difference between you and I brother you so easily bend to the will of others and accept any outcome that is given to you and work around it. I am strong and determined and will push forward until I gain the required results. That is why the mana choose me to posses a 4 leaf grimoire and you got nothing but a 3 leaf. The world knows who is truly strong and you show it everyday that you are weak and spineless. You wouldn’t even be deserving of the love of Hinota, be damned what her father said.”
Echo would release the male while also pushing him a few meters back before looking to his father and saying “What will you do father will you stay here with me? Or will you and this nerd head to the exam grounds without me?” Johnathan would look to Echo and smile before saying “No we are all staying, Julian that means you too and I don’t want to hear a word out of you about it.” The second eldest Jaegar would sigh before saying “Yes father of course, not a single word shall be spoken against it.”

Valo Stark
"Don't need a reason to seek strength."
Valo didn't plan on sleeping tonight, not in the least bit. He had way to much on his mind, this time away was supposed to be for training against the upcoming threat of the Daemon's. But right now his focus was on someone else, Hinota. The fire mage was more than happy he got see the flower mage again, but he also concerned for her. For her safety, for her time and most importantly for her happiness. It was clear as day things had changed for Hinota in the time she was away. She did not seem as happy as she once did before, something was effecting her. And Valo was going to figure out what it was.
"I've been told I have to return home for a few days due to a family matter, I'll return no later than a week. Train hard okay?"
Was the last thing she told him earlier in the night, she was gripping her sleeves as she always did when she was nervous or sad. Valo also knew that when she was away, she was locked away in her estate and not allowed to come out. All these things and details were running through Valo's mind, as he sat in a chair pondering. Before suddenly standing up and looking out the window, watching Hinota and her two servants get into a carriage. "Agneya, were leaving." he said simply waking up the fire spirit. "Leaving?...Leaving where? what are you talking about?" Valo opened the large window to his room in the Blake Estate quietly, it reminded him of the times he sneaked out of the house to get into some trouble. And as if on perfect queue, Charlotte let her thoughts be known.
Valorisse are you sure this is the wisest idea? I know you care for her, but following her especially now. It is risky.
I am sure. I have to figure out what's going on with her. There is nothing more important than that right now. Training can wait a few days.
Oh the young and the in love...
We're going on another trip?
Yes, love.
Brother...
...
Agneya now on his shoulder looked out towards the carriage. "If it's for Hino. We must go. No questions asked. Let's go!" the fire spirit nearly shouted now fully awake. Valo placed his index finger over his lips looking at the young spirit, then whispered. "We gotta do this one quietly Agneya. No loud noises, and no shouting. If they spot us were probably not going to be taken to her estate, and that's where we need to go." Agneya nodded in unison with Valo and hopped on his shoulder, right before he jumped out the window and landed on the ground below quietly right behind some large bushes and trees. Valo crouched low on the ground peeking through a tiny hole in the bushes to get a look at the carriage taking off. "Now how are we going to do this, we need to follow them but also not be seen." Right after his relic necklace started to glow a dim light, and Charlotte was summoned to his side. "I want you to know Valorisse, that I do not approve of this. But...I will help you." she said a kind smile.
Valo looked up at her with a wide grin on his face, that Agneya nearly copied. "Because of some of the training and bonding we've been doing as of late, some of my old spells have been returning. And I believe I have the perfect one for this instance. Summon a golem for us to ride please Valorisse." Without question the fire mage summoned Mashiro his white long dragon golem, beside them with a snap of her fingers she rendered herself invisible and pressed her delicate fingers to Valo's forehead then Agneya's forehead and lastly his golem. Making all of them invisible to the eye. "I believe this should help us quite a bit." she said with a smile. Mienai Nokoribi
Soon after the trio of Charlotte, Agneya and Valo were riding on top of his golem in the air close to the clouds, keeping a birds eye view on the carriage that Hinota was in. They had stopped at an upcoming portal though made by a spatial mage, Valo was tapping his chin and then whispered. "We need to go in...and fast." Valo said commanding his golem via mana tether to fly through the portal right before it closes while still invisible and it not making a sound do to Charlotte's spell, and what he saw on the other end of the portal amazed him!
Valo's face was in complete shock and awe as they fly through the portal into the Yuiee estate. This place wasn't just some other noble estate he had seen, this was a place of royalty and absolute beauty.
So this is Hino's home...I don't...belong here...
Hush
Master Valorisse...every step you take and move you make from here on out must be thoughtful. Think before you act. Your...tact for recklessness will not get you anywhere here.
It's so beautiful here! I wanna see up close!
In time young one...maybe...perhaps if everything goes smoothly.
Valo took a deep breath and looked down seeing the large group of people, that Hinota was with. There was allot of commotion and talk happening, and right now was the best time to just listen. He commanded his golem to stay afloat and follow the large group. Hinota was dressed in a beautiful dress as always, but she was wearing a royal blue veil over her face, which was odd he had never seen her wear that before. Her two servants Junjie and Luli were at her side as always, Valo had just recently met them, he had a feeling they didn't take well to him. But perhaps that could change. He also saw what he thought was Hinota's father, a tall man about 6'5 with a build of one that knows battle. Long black hair tied with a silver circlet with ruby in the center. His outfit was very foreign to Valo, but his style of dress nearly identical to that of Hinota, Anata and Kiyoshi. There was of course other servants around them in a similar manner of wardrobe.
There was another group with them though, one that stood a little bit. From there words they were here for some kind of business meeting. It was three men, an older one with long red hair and a tattoo across his face. The other one had black hair and glasses and looked to be in his mid twenties maybe. And the last one caught Valo's attention most of all, he was around Valo's age and carried a smug face with him. Out of three he was the youngest and it seemed his main interest in being there was for Hinota. Which made Valo's eyes pop and then narrow in a focus. He nearly fell off his golem but caught himself just in time.
Kiyoshi! Anata! Is that what you guys were talking about?! This arranged marriage stuff?! Hinota is getting married to someone!?
...Yes...It seems like some kind of arrangement is being talked about. But this...situation is odd.
Usually this isn't done in such a manner Master Valorisse. I do not know what to think of those three. Now is the time to listen. She may be getting married to someone else.
That won't happen.
Valo, Charlotte and Agneya continued to float above on their golem, being unheard and unseen. But their ears were alert as they continued to listen on the conversation that was happening. It seemed the much older more mature looking red haired individual was Jonathan and he was the father to the younger men with him, and the youngest one was interested in marrying Hinota. When that was said aloud Valo clenched his fist tightly. As did Agneya. Think before you act.
Valo took a breath and continued to stay put, the conversation continued about business and marriage. There was a lot of information to be gathered as the two parties spoke. The visiting family were straight to the point, they wanted this Echo Jaeger to marry Hinota. But her father wasn't being so easily persuaded by his words. A letter was mentioned informing them that this Jaeger family was not to be trusted or worked with. But there was allot of pleading to not listen to the letter as it was nonsense so they claimed, but it was something to keep a mental note of. Valo and Agneya's faces went from still, to shock, to disappointment, to pleased as conversations continued. There was allot of bowing and apologizing, for apparently a lack of respect coming from the visiting family.
All the bowing again. What's with all that stuff? I could never.
You will learn to do so, if you hope to stand a chance in this world. If you hope to have her hand...
As the conversation continued it seemed this Echo person liked to shout and have outburst when things didn't go his way. He claimed to have a love for Hinota, and a wanting to protect her and be with her. So much so tears were falling down his face, as he was pouring his heart out for her. He was saying allot of words that could have meant a whole lot, but in Valo's opinion this Echo wasn't speaking from his truth. There was something off about it, a hint of selfishness hung to every word he muttered. His outburst made Hinota startled and scared, Valo was getting angry but he calmed himself quickly.
Good you are learning.
He doesn't understand her.
He will not get far with these outbursts, he's already dug himself into a hole much to deep to get out of now. You will not make the same mistakes, at least I hope you won't.
Have some faith in me.
...
After that Echo had yet another outburst, even Valo rolled his eyes. The fire mage knew even he could be a little reckless sometimes, especially with his mouth. But there was a time and place for it, and this place and this situation wasn't the place to just outburst into anger and emotions. But this Echo person just wasn't understand it, he thought relentless crying and shouting would get him somewhere. He thought trying to push his will and wants onto others would work in his favor, and try to force them into listening and doing what he wants them to. This was not the way to do things. His brother and Father had to come to his defense time and time again throughout the discussion. Eventually Hinota and her father have had enough and decided it was time to leave, something that Valo's mind at ease for now. But Echo would refuse to let things end like this, Valo rolled his eyes yet again.
Get a clue man.
Echo continued to go on and on about his word as a man and Hinota being the first one to bring him true happiness. In Valo's mind his words meant very little, if he spoke the truth he would have conducted himself in a better manner. Valo crossed his arms and continued to watch, with Charlotte giggling at him. "Why are you laughing?" he mouthed to her. "Oh it's nothing." They both just watched. Echo continued his rant of course now verbally attacking his own brother, claiming that is why he was chosen by the mana and born with a powerful grimoire and his brother was not. This statement made Valo pissed and confused. Did this Echo really think that highly of himself because of his grimoire, every word he uttered was self centered, rude, disrespectful and to shout at his own brother and try and belittle him. This young man had no business being around Hinota. He clearly did not understand how the world worked, including mana. Echo sounded just like Valo's father, putting someone down just because of the status of a grimoire. And not really looking at the depth of a person, that is what made someone strong not the leafs on a clover.
Suddenly though Junjie and Luli had their eyes straight looking at Valo, Charlotte, Agneya and his golem. Junjie's fingers pointing for them to leave very quickly but also pointing at the front entrance. Valo looked confused at their gestures, as did Agneya.
They telling us to leave and arrive at the front entrance, it is time to make our appearance Master Valorisse.
Get ready, follow my lead and may yet make it out here with her hand. You will bow as we do.
Without wasting another beat Valo had his golem fly out the window unseen and unheard and circle back to the front large door, Charlotte ending her spell now with them visible and looking as if they came through the portal. Kiyoshi and Anata suddenly were summoned through Valo's relic and landed on the ground of the entrance. Luli stood up and announced a visitor.
"Lords it seems we have another visiting party."
Kiyoshi and Anata approached first with the two twins bowing in unison, following the proper traditions. Charlotte had followed next right after, having no issues with learning new traditions and culture. Valo hesitated for a second looking at Hinota directly in the eyes, and then bowed as Kiyoshi and Anata did. Though his bow was not perfect and needed some work, his effort was there. As it would continue to be for Hinota Yuiee.

The tension had become high within the room, it was making the doll-like mage uncomfortable, she wished she could have been absolutely anywhere else but in that room currently. Everything had happened so suddenly from the moment the letter had been brought out by her father to counter the request for her to be betrothed. She had no idea about the letter but then it wasn't like she was told too much about anything. She was just expected to smile, look pretty and do as she was told, sometimes she hated being born not only the youngest but as a girl, she was loved by her parents but also seen as lower than her brothers such was tradition. It was during the time he kowtowed that Echo really upset her father by telling him how she thought, she couldn't remember telling him such things but she had a lot going on at current so she may have forgotten.
Punishment had been given from her father's side for the insult before giving them an option of staying in one of the palaces or leaving the estate, either way, Junjie would escort them. After this Hinota and her father would stand, her heart went out to Echo and his plight but due to traditions she had no say over who she would end up with. Her world wasn't as free as his where he could allow his heart to decide although she wished it was with every fibre of her being. As far as her father was concerned Echo was disrespectful, ill-mannered, volatile, unstable emotionally and lacked any form of self-awareness. He didn't trust him with the thing he treasured the most and didn't want him to throw away his life when he believed he'd inevitably fail to live up to expectations.
"It is far from enough." he said simply as he started to head towards the exit of the room, Hinota stopped by the door as it was opened for her hearing his voice "Our worlds are different, you have seen this first hand when I brought you here originally..." she said softly looking to the ground "If this is what you had wanted you should have researched the culture and family you were wanting to marry into so you could understand how to react and not cause offence." she said turning to look at him "The culture I'm born in are wary of outsiders, to begin with, it is why my father would have been very sceptical about that letter and listened to everything, but, from the moment you arrived you disrespected your brother, your father and insulted your host." she said biting her bottom lip "You must have noticed the difference when I spoke to your father at your home and how you have acted here." she said quietly.
"I took blame when I should have, I was the reason we were inside the kitchen because I wanted to cook some snacks. I didn't understand so I carefully questioned, even though it angered your father. I tried to barter for your safety by offering to cook for your father, I protected sir Jaegar from gaining too much harm through my magic and when I felt like I had outstayed my welcome thanks to everything that happened including your female friend accusing me of things and saying I would be a better match for sir Jaegar I left. You were a gentleman and though still injured you escorted me home, I was thankful that you did because it meant for that one evening you would be out of a hostile enviroment and away from the man that almost killed you." she gripped her sleeves.
Junjie looked back at her "It was all done in front of me Junjie not behind closed doors." she said his head nodding showing he understood. "You left while I was sleeping, I was hurt that not even a note had been left but I do understand family commitments. I should be training with others to help defend the kingdom against daemonic royalty but I was told I had to return here and didn't know why until this morning when this meeting happened." she knew just how that would sound for a pacifist to be on a battlefield but it wouldn't be the first time nor would it be the last time most likely. She looked to Johnathan and bowed in her normal style "I mean no disrespect to you my lord, but, you truly scare me more than any daemon could..." she paused
"Because you could be so callous and malicious to your own family in front of a guest to your home and even threatening that guest that if they upset you further even they wouldn't be saved your ire." she let go of her sleeves "If all that is saving me from that anger and rage is being an outsider, then I shall remain that way... I'm sorry..." with that she bowed to the three once more and turned to leave the room, she was well aware that Junjie had heard everything but he would do his duties without his own emotions getting in the way. "If you remain, take the time within the palace of the sun to meditate and reflect all three of you my father is willing to flex but he will not bow to another's demands. He is set in his ways and will not stray from generations of tradition." she said calmly
"He also wouldn't expect your family to do the same." she said as her final words as she was about to leave with her father, it was then Luli appeared with snacks and announced that additional guests had arrived. This caught both Hinota and her father off guard "Show them in." Ichirou instructed Luli bowed stepping aside allowing Valo, Anata and Kiyoshi in. Hinota's eyes went wide just by seeing Valo there but she took a step back almost behind Junjie seeing the twins, she remembered them and just how dangerous they had been. The three bowed Hinota and Anata bowing the exact same way as did the men though the actions between the genders were different. "I must apologise for our sudden appearance at your home, I know it is quite disrespectful but my sister Fumiko and I are homesick. I do, however, would wish some of your time to speak when it is most convenient for you. My name is Kiyoshi and this person with us is our younger brother Valoriss, though, he prefers his childhood nickname when spoken to" Kiyoshi would say his words respectful.
"I see. He dresses more western than I would expect from one of the royal branch." Ichirou said his tone careful as he spoke to Kiyoshi, "Ah, yes. Teen rebellion and wishing to experience new things while outside of the palace. I'm sure as a father you can understand this yourself." he said with a light laugh "Indeed." he laughed himself "I must tend to matters within the estate so I will not be free for a few hours until then my daughter will be happy to serve as your hostess. At the evening meal, I am sure the three families can meet if my other guests have decided to stay. We can have our actual meeting in the morning if that suits you." he said to Kiyoshi who bowed once more "That is perfectly fine with me, may the winds of fortune follow." he said bowing in return with it all said and done it Left the three Jaegar, Hinota, Luli, Junjie, Valo and his party.
Hinota ran over to Valo and had to physically prevent herself from hugging him "What on earth are you doing here Valo?" she asked somewhere between surprised and scolding "Please, could you escort us to a place where he might change into something more befitting a prince?" Kiyoshi said respectfully "Y... yes, of course." her mind was absolutely racing not knowing what on earth was going on. She bowed to the three Jaegar. Junjie would remain where he was but Luli would follow silently as they left. Junjie looked to the three "It seems things are going to get interesting here on out, if you will follow me I will take you to the palace of the sun." he said moving towards another door in the room only taking pause if they didn't follow him.

After Echo had almost begged Hinota to say something she would turn around and speak to him, and in short she would basically say the same thing that she had been saying all along. How the world she comes from and the world Echo came from was different, and how she didn’t have the ability to make such choices for herself. Hearing her words would make Echo’s tears start to fade away… it was the power that her voice held to Echo, it was soothing and calming in a way. She made it clear to him that her father was not willing to break generations worth of traditions just to satisfy his demands.
Echo would then go on to belittle his brother for having a lesser grimoire than him and being a weakling, and just as he finished doing that he would hear the voice of Luli the woman who brought him and his family here. She would tell Ichirou who had not made it far that he had other guest which would make Echo think to himself *More guests? Did he just brush us off intentionally so he could attend a different meeting? Or is this something random?* After he had this thought his mind would snap back to reality when he heard Ichirou telling Luli to show them inside. Echo, Johnathan, and Julian were all skilled sensory mages so how this went unnoticed by them could only be explained by the fact they had their mind elsewhere.
As whoever the new guest were entered the mana in the air became thicker than frozen oatmeal, meaning that whoever these people were they had immense power. The three Jaegars would all look at each other with a face of slight confusion, with Echo letting off a small grin as he thought to himself *Who the hell are these people?!?! The mana in the air just skyrocketed! I can’t even imagine who these people might be. One or more of them have to be at least the level of a magic knight captain!* The boy would then turn to his father and brother saying “So im not the only one who senses this right?” Julian would push his glasses up on his face before scoffing at Echo.
“Well brother I guess you staying around the estate and not actually doing anything but wasting your magical talent you have never felt an overflow of mana like this. However I will say that the combined might of these people’s mana is quite interesting to say the least.” Julian would say before Johnathan would follow up behind him saying “Yes, very interesting indeed it is Julian. I believe one of them may even be stronger than me… not physically anyway, I mean magically.” The fact Johnathan had said he believed one of the new guest to be more magically powerful than him had Echo kinda shook to say the least. He would look at his father with wide eyes saying “You just casually say something like that? You the mighty Apex Hunter are actually admitting someone is a stronger mage than you?”
Johnathan would laugh before saying “Calm yourself boy. It does not take a lot for someone to be a stronger mage than me. My magic is suited for physical enhancements and such not outright magical fighting… You are almost on my level magically, and Julian has surpassed me. I Feel no shame admitting I am a brute.” After a few moments of the Jaegars having this conversation the new comers voice could be heard, prompting Echo to come to the door of the room trying to see who these people were. Upon looking through the door he would see a two men and two women, who he had never seen before chatting it up with Hinota and her father. After a moment or two Julian would walk over and look at them along side Echo and would say “Hmm, that’s one of those degenerates from the Green Mantis squad. Ive never met him personally or anything but this one in particular is well known. I believe is name is Halo… no that’s not right maybe its Kalo? Yeah I don’t remember… I just know he’s a big deal being regarded as one of the strongest fire mages in the Magic Knights.”
Echo would scoff before saying “Another loser ass magic knight… It already broke my heart to find out Hinota was one of them… but I guess we shall just have to deal with it.” Ichirou would then move to leave, and Hinota would stay talking to the male from the green mantis squad. This is when Echo would move over to join in with the current convo. Echo would walk up and smile before saying “Well well we have a new comer to the party. I oh so hope you will be joining us all. Oh where are my manners my name is Echo Jaegar, and according to my nerd of a big brother you are some big shot from the Green Mantis squad.” Echo would extend his hand to shake with the man before looking at the 3 people traveling with him and saying “My apologies to you lot. I like to address the head of the snake first, when I feel people with so much power.” Just after this initial first exchange Junjie would ask the Jaegars to follow him so that they could be taken to the palace of the sun. Echo would sigh before saying “Well that’s my cue to go. I’ll see you 4 later.” His last statement aimed at the 4 new comers.

Valo Stark
"Don't need a reason to seek strength."
There were things Valo knew about this place that was hard to ignore, yes it did look beautiful and breath taking. But some of the things Hinota told him sounded horrific, and now he was in the epicenter of it. Valo wasn't the type of person to let his anger blind him completely, even with his temper. But he was holding back an immense amount of furry just being here. If it wasn't for the support of Kiyoshi, Anata and Charlotte he wasn't sure he would came here in such a calm fashion.
His bow didn't last long, as he quickly lifted his body and got a good look at Hinota's father. His right hand gripping into a fist, but Kiyoshi's words of keeping calm before he acted played over and over again his mind. Valo's eyes were piercing looking at Hinota's father, so far he acted like a normal and nice man. Him and Kiyoshi chatted for a bit, securing their place here at least for the time being. He commented on Valo's outfit causing the fire mage to raise an eyebrow, he didn't dress like everyone else here. He didn't see it as a big deal, but he assumed if he was going to be apart of this culture for now, he could look the part.
So judgmental...
This is a different culture Valorisse, a different standard almost.
Does he get judged on his actions?
Remember to breathe and remember why we are here.
Hinota was infront of Valo and a smile was on his face, she was the reason they were there. She had to stop herself from hugging him, as he did the same. He remembered that rule so far. She asked him what he was doing there, and he smirk was on his face. "I am here to see a princess." he replied softly and slyly. His voice coming down to a whisper. "Also to make sure you are ok. You tried to run off on me again, couldn't let that happen twice." he said with a smile. But he then noticed her reaction to seeing Kiyoshi and Anata, and he nearly tried to stop himself from smacking his forehead. He hadn't seen her since he unlocked the powers within his relic, Last Wishes. Of course she was scared. "You have no reason to fear them at all. Once we speak I will explain everything." Valloooo!!! I wanna see tooooo!
Oh sorry Nanami!
The necklace around his neck had a dim light shine, and Nanami the young girl was summoned as well. Running straight to her mother's arms after kicking Valo in the shin of course for taking so long. The fire mage made a silly face at her, rubbing his leg. The little girl looked around her eyes filled with wonder, and then she looked at Hinota. "I remember you! You have to remember me!" she said out loud with a smile. Valo and Charlotte smiled, but the fire mage's attention was drawn elsewhere with some nearby words hitting his ears.
Without wasting a moment the fire mage walked over to the three that also came to visit the estate. The fire mage was prideful and competitive it was in his DNA, and with everything he had been through in his life he didn't take well to being disrespected. His father called him worthless the day he was born, he worked hard to obtain the strength and respect he had now. And he wasn't going to let anyone disrespect him or his family. One of the comments was on his squad Green Mantis that Nanami heard and it made her instantly pout and sad. "That's not true about Green Mantis! They are the squad that gives you a second chance! And it's the best squad!"
His eyes were intense when he looked at all three of the Jaeger family members, then his eyes focused on the oldest one first. "I promise you I'm stronger in every way imaginable. Any time you wanna test that fact let me know. I'll be waiting. Poser." He replied to the Jaeger whom claimed to be stronger than him physically. The list of mages in the world that had more physical strength than Valo was very short, he doubted this poser was on that list.
His head then turned to the Jaeger member with dark hair, whom before his recent comments didn't think he was to bad. He honestly felt bad for the guy, but that was over and done with now. He stepped closer to him, making sure he was face to face. "You don't have to know my name, honestly I could care less. But the little girl over there her name is Nanami and if you ever call me or my squad degenerates or make Nanami sad again, Im going to break every bone in your body. Then maybe someone here will be kind enough to heal you, and then i'm going to do it again. And so on and so forth till it's time for you to leave, and then I guess I will really be a degenerate then huh?"
His eyes then darted to the Echo, the youngest one whom proceeded to go on and on. "Shut up and wipe your face. Your eyes and nose are dry and crusty from all that yelling and crying you were doing earlier. You look disgusting." Valo didn't reach to shake his hand at all, he just looked him up and down. "You call me a loser again, what I said to your nerd over there goes for you as well. Watch your mouth." Valo started to walk back to his group towards the end of his last sentence, but was loud enough for all three of them to hear it.
Valo for a moment had to revert back to his rude, trouble making side he left in the past back in Kikka when his mother and Charlotte had to ground him time and time again for getting into to much trouble. He never took well to being disrespected no matter who it was, and he was always going to speak on his mind no matter what. If the Jaeger family wanted to continue this game of disrespect, Valo would have no issue putting them in their place. "Man I forgot how ignorant some nobles can be." he said mostly to himself. Over the course of his magic knight career, he met some genuine and honest noble families Hinota being the main one. But this was a nice reminder that some nobles truly were delusional.
Charlotte and Nanami were smiling at him. "Normally I would have scolded you, but that was very much needed. Also you held back your temper, normally your fists start flying after the words are said." the motherly mage said to him holding her daughter in her arms. Nanami wiped her cute little eyes. "Some people just don't understand Green Mantis." Valo looked at her and nodded with a smirk. "They don't." He then turned to Hinota with a slight nervous look on his face. "Sorry about that Hino. I don't mean to disrespect your home. But it was needed. But please lead the way."

Hinota listened quietly to the men of the Jaegar family her eyes closing as she balled her fists, she was sick and tired of this all. This was her home and they were disrespecting other guests. She couldn't care less what they thought about them so longs they didn't vocalize it. Her eyes opened and instantly narrowed at Julian as she insulted Valo's name but also the squad that he was in, she walked over to the taller male almost as if she was floating on the floor only to stop a single step in front of him. "His name is Valo and if you show disrespect to him again I will personally ruin your life." her forest green eyes showed flecks of royal purple "You call his squad degenerates but you know nothing of them; I on the other hand do because I spent time getting to know them" she almost hissed at him.
"Many of them were street kids or done wrong so their families could survive. Sure, some have done some terrible things but they now put their lives on the line as much as you or I do to atone for those sins. There are even those free of troubled pasts and just fit best within that squad, ever think of that genius?" she said calmly but clearly irritated that someone was jumping to conclusions on something they had know knowledge of "I don't remember you coming to Raque's aid when Serena attacked, I don't remember your name in the reports when it came to Kikka's original attack or even coming forward to help liberate it. Valo was there when it was originally attacked and came back to liberate it." she shook her head for a moment "For someone apparently smart you really don't know when it is best to cut your losses and move on." she said her voice showing she was anything but pleased about this blatant disrespect "I was at Raque when it was attacked, I helped liberate and sent aid to the survivors afterwards." tears started to fall lightly.
"You have no idea how you sound in your arrogance, we serve the same kingdom regardless of our background or squad." she shook her head. Junjie moved over to her and helped her step back a few paces "Princess you're too close to this man, I understand you are upset but please." he said respectfully, he had been quite careful not to touch her but merely guided her to a reasonable distance. It would seem as if while she was talking to Julian, Echo had decided to go talk to Valo and the others that came with him. She was paying attention to what had been said thus far, she was starting to walk over to try and deescalate the situation only to hear a slapping noise and Anata had moved quickly and slapped Echo hard enough to leave a delicate red handprint on his right cheek.
It caused Hinota to stop in her tracks in utter surprise her hands going to her mouth and the two servants to go on alert. Hinota waved her hand to show it was fine. "Lord Jaegar, calling someone a snake in this culture is a serious insult and accusation to one's honor." she informed him bitting her bottom lip briefly, using an open hand as she moved to his side she would indicate to Kiyoshi "This is crowned prince Kiyoshi, the one that slapped you due to insult..." she moved her hand towards Anata "is crowned princess Fumiko." she said respectfully before moving her hand to Charlotte that was now holding Nanami "This is lady Charlotte and her daughter Nanami." she said introducing them in turn "Please do not insult my guests again by calling them snakes or I will ask you to leave and never to contact me again." she said quietly
"My father believed he may have been hasty in what he said and that is why he gave you an option but I will not allow insult to be given..." she looked at everyone "By either side going forward." she said her tone firm on the matter, she could understand that both sides were frustrated on the whole situation as both Echo had shown and Valo most definitely had shown "We'll start with a clean slate." she instructed just wanting to keep harmony within her home "I understand." "I apologise for my actions." the twin wraiths spoke. She looked to Nanami when she was asked if she remembered her and nodded "Of course I do, I sang you a lullaby that Luli's mother sang to me when I was younger." she said with a warm smile, she knew it wouldn't be seen due to her veil but it would show in her eyes.
"Valo I wasn't running away, I told you where I was going." she'd say almost like she was scolding him though it was playful "Although, I wasn't exactly expecting a request for betrothal nor was my father by the sounds of it." she said troubled now hugging onto the fire spirit and looking to the ring she was wearing. It was clear she was troubled by it as if her father was to agree to the arrangement it would be set in stone for her. "A second family wishes your hand?" Kiyoshi asked making her look up "This is yet another reason we are here. I wish for my younger brother to be your husband, unfortunately, he looks like he is ready for a streetfight and not for meeting his potential bride I do apologise on his behalf on his appearance and attitude." he said bowing Anata following suit.
Hinota would bow the same way Anata had "In honesty, I am still wondering who he really is because I know Valo wouldn't bow. He doesn't see the point in it." Hino said Kiyoshi chuckled "Young men and women often go against their own morals acting in ways they normally wouldn't when they are in love. I truly believe he wouldn't have if it was for anyone but you." the male continued, her eyes looking towards Valo softly before sighing "We'll meet in the pavilion of harmony in an hour, that should allow us all to calm and get changed into more appropriate clothing for the estate." Of course, she wouldn't force Julian, Johnathan or Echo to change but the offer would still be there "I think I have a beautiful hanfu that would suit you Nanami if you want to try." she said with a giggle with that she would bow to the lord Jaegar's and escort Valo and the others out.
~~~~~
"Valo, I'd have only been gone a week. I told you this." she whispered as she walked towards the palace of prosperity, there were many gardens, pavilions along the way and ponds filled with all sorts of fish and lotus. It truly was beautiful, there was no discourse amongst the people who served and they were clearly well looked after all wearing silk, happy and healthy. The moment they got into the palace she turned to look at him, she wanted to hug him again but knew Luli would stop them from doing so giving the surroundings. "Luli could you go fetch the box for Valo and one of my hanfu for Nanami" she looked to Charlotte "If you would like one also it can be arranged Charlotte." she said with a smile. With Nanami she knew she wouldn't be overstepping as all little girls liked to dress up but Charlotte was an elegant woman and may not have wanted to.
~~~~~
Junjie bowed to Hinota and the others that left before looking at the three men who he was tasked to care for, they had decided that they were going to stay previously but with the turn of events, he was no longer certain. "Are you still wishing to stay?" he asked the three men. Given the display previously now there was another potential suiter within the estate it would be safe to assume that they would be remaining and so he escorted the three men towards the palace of the sun "This was the princess's palace when she was younger." he commented taking the required path needed before they would be able to enter the palace. The walk would have taken around fifteen minutes where they got to see some of the gardens, pavilions and how the culture was. As they entered he would turn and bow to the three "Is there anything that you would like?" he would ask them, he wasn't a maid but he could send one of them to fetch what was wanted.

Things had begun to take quite the turn, and not in a good way. Echo was clearly already shocked by the fact that Velondra had held her word by trying her best to deter his plans of marrying Hinota, but these new comers to the estate had also seemingly begun to put a stop to his plans. He was telling Julian only moments ago that he was determined to find the end results he wanted no matter the situation, however it seemed as if now he was ready to give up on his plan, at least for the time being.
Julian had tried to identify one of the new comers as a member of the Green Mantis squad of magic knights, calling the squad a group of degenerates and failing to remember the man’s exact name in the process. This was clearly the start of a massive fuck up that would steer Echo’s opinion on the events at hand more and more. Just after Julian had said this him and Echo would be approached by a small child, this child however was no normal child at least if the magical energy coming from her was felt and understood correctly. Echo couldn’t explain what exactly was going on with the girl but he knew it wasn’t normal in the slightest. The girl had overheard what Julian said about the green mantis squad and reacted very poorly saying that green mantis was the best squad, and the squad that gives you second chances.
Before either of the Jaegar sons could react or not react to the young girl the magic knight would then approach their father, ready to fire back at comments that he had overheard somehow. The knight had told Johnatha that he was in fact stronger and he would prove it whenever the man was ready. He even called him a poser to add more insult to injury, however Johnathan wasn’t the least bit concerned with what the much younger male said. He would simply do his best to defuse the situation seeing as how he was technically in the wrong by saying “You might be right young man… These old bones aren’t much built for battle anymore. I remember when I was your age, they called me the Apex Hunter… these days im far from the apex of anything substantial.” He would finish his statement with a small laugh while making eye contact with the man.
Julian didn’t like how things were starting to turn out and he thought even his father was feeling the same way. Echo on the other hand was intrigued to say the least. He wanted to say more but he wished to wait to see how the remainder of events played out, and it wouldn’t take long for the magic knight to set his sharp tongue against Julian. He seemed very angry that someone didn’t know his name, however Echo simply laughed under his breathe. The man would say that he didn’t care if Julian knew his name or not, but would then go on to say that if he made the little girl sad again then he would break every bone in the Jaegar’s body. Echo would yet again laugh as Julian would do nothing but push his glasses up on his face. Echo would look to Julian saying “You hear that nerd? He’s gonna break every bone in your body… that sounds painful you might wanna use some of those rocks of your’s to block him…”
The magic knight had gone down the line dishing out replies to all the ‘disrespect’ he had felt since he had arrived, so it was without question that the next target would be who most would see as the main culprit. Once he had gotten to Echo he would be very ruthless in his remarks saying that his face and eyes were still dry and crusty from all the crying he had done earlier. He would also tell him that he too would get the same thing as Julian if he didn’t learn to watch his mouth, and of course he would also forgo shaking hands with the red head. Echo would laugh almost in a sinister way at this point as he could no longer hope to contain himself. Julian and his father would both look at him before Johnathan would walk up and grab him by the back of his jacket collar saying “Boy I told you about acting in such a way in the homes of others! If you can not learn to behave yourself we shall be leaving.” Johnathan under normal circumstances would let Echo fight this man or whatever it was he wanted but he was not wanting to do such a thing in other people’s home.
Echo would scoff as his father grabbed him up saying “Im the one acting wild? No you two are acting like scared little girls! Am I the only one in this family who has any backbone? You two just let this speck on the wall insult us like we are the trash laying on the cobblestone!” Johnathan would simply look at him giving him a stern yet fierce look before looking to Hinota and then Junjie saying “Pardon us, I am afraid we shall have to take our leave. We and our comments have clearly begun to disturb the peace of the home, and I wish not to disturb it further…” Echo would laugh again saying “Got damn it old man you ruin all the fun! If he thinks he’s so tough this would have been perfect training for me before we get to the exams.”
Julian would then activate a spell which would place restraints around Echo’s mouth and hands. He would then walk over to his father and Echo before saying “Sorry kiddo, but its better if you learn to shut up sometimes.” Aiming his words at Echo who could no longer reply, instead his words were nothing more than simple mumbles and sounds. Julian would then look to everyone else present before saying “As my father said we apologize for such disrespect while visiting another’s home. Best believe Echo will be properly punished for his actions when we return home.” Johnathan would then begin to push Echo to walk forward and live, making his way around the new guest, and Julian would follow closely behind. Once outside Luli would show up to escort them off the property, and from there the group of Jaegars would head to Kikka to await for the exams to start.
As they made their way off the estate grounds Julian would remove the bind from across Echo’s mouth saying to him “Now explain yourself! You need to act more accordingly to your station and title little brother. You seen me and father said nothing but allowed the young man to say what he wanted, we were in the wrong while in the home of another! You need to learn to respect such things.” Echo would scoff as he was still being pushed forward to walk saying “Fuck all that shit you talking about! I will never sit back idly while someone talks down to either of you even if you two both are allowing it. And I wanted one of those chumps to back up all the talk their boss had. But you two always saving people yet again…” Johnathan would chime in shortly swing “Either your sensory skill is worse than I thought or it would be correct for us to say we saved you…” The group would then continue on silently for the rest of their trip, allowing Echo to further think on his bad choices.
