Recently, people having been hearing strange music coming from the cliffs near Hapshass's shoreline, which has drawn in those that were either really drunk or really curious. It goes without saying that none of these people have made it back, leaving the civilians to wonder as to what might have happened, in turn leading relatives and friends to go out and search for them. When they also did not return, those that remained asked for help in figuring out what has happened and then dealing with this problem.

[attr="class","ardereescroll"]Hot breath exited the Crimson Lion Captain's maw as he listened to the rolling wind along the trees. It had been a bit since last he traversed the Common Region and under happier circumstances. Today he was not alone however, being in the company of a Crimson Lion; Hania Ravencrest. Lydia had left to further her own Magic Knight career--something Ardere did not resent but he did miss his old friend. Here at the top of the mountain he had no aspirations beyond defending the legacy he had spent so long building. Was that sad? To have no aspirations or dreams? He did not know for himself but he did know Hania's journey had only just begun. The road of a Magic Knight was a long and perilous one, but gods-willing it was not lonely. [break][break] Hapshass. It was not an extraordinary town guarded by massive walls, but it was an important port town in Clover. The forest surrounding it was quite expansive and flourishing with life. He only wished everywhere in Clover was like this, but truth be told Death loomed on the ever growing horizon. There was a destiny Ardere felt like he was unable to escape, shadows trailing not so far behind. Nonetheless, he had taken on this mission to spend some time with Hania. The young Ravencrest was a valued member of his Squad after all. It was important the two actually got to know one another a bit better. Well we're here. Breathing in some of the clean air here, he turned to face his companion. We could head straight off to the cliffs, but I think we should talk to the villagers personally first. Wouldn't you agree? [break][break] As Ardere awaited a response from the Lion, he observed the far off coast down to the cliffs of which he spoke. There was something off about them. He could not place this eerie feeling, but he had no doubt they would soon discern its source. After all, missions rarely stayed boring for long. The two would inevitably head down towards the town, assuming Hania did not protest to this course of action. They simply needed to get some first hand accounts of what was going on in the town. A hand written account was fine and dandy but actually talking to the people affected by it was far more valuable to them. They needed to act quickly but not so brashly. Ardere himself had a habit of doing this in his younger years, but age and experience (don't forget trauma) aided in this. He had a calmness about him that reflected his Father in some ways. If only he had accomplished this on his own..

[attr="class","haniaimage"]❝I hear a song of woe shadowing our past in sorrow.❞
[attr="class","haniascroll"]His sister had left the Crimson Lions and had transferred to the Azure Deer to advance her career within the magic knights, it wasn't something he had ever imagined happening as she had always been devoted to the lions but here they were. The vice-captain seat for now laid empty and he had been watching the morale of the rest of the squad as he was sure Ardere had been too. He had no real ambition to hold a position and even now he had no real want to take on his sister's former role, there was no denying it however the morale of the squad and dare he imagine it the captain had significantly lowered. It wasn't as if he could blame them in all honesty, he too was finding her absence strange but he was able to mask things a lot more than others as he remained as neutral as ever.
He was still young compared to the mountain of a man standing beside him who had seen the very worst and best of mankind, he wondered had he ever faltered and thought of walking away from it. He could imagine he had at least once, it would be only natural, Hania himself had had those thoughts a few times since the end of the diamond war but that was more of a 'him' thing. The flashes, terrors and memories that didn't seem quite his all made him think he should walk away for everyone's good. He hadn't though. He was dealing with his issues quietly and that's all that mattered at the end of the day, it had been noted in his record by Lydia never to send him to Kikka as he had always ended up in a comatose state for some unknown reason.
He was surprised he was still a magic knight with that knowledge being on file, then again he wasn't the only Crimson Lion and he worked efficiently other than that one caveat. He had spoken to Lydia about some of the things that he saw giving details of Kikka when the daemons were in control of it that he shouldn't have had any way of knowing. He had then been instructed never to speak of anything to do with it again or anything from his flashes. It wasn't like he was an open book about such things, it had taken years for him to open up about his flashes in general to his sister let alone the more recent ones. He took a deep breath as he pushed all those thoughts out of his mind, for now, there were more important things to worry about like the three daemon royals going to be attacking.
He had been in Hapshass not too long ago and wondered if he could get some more of that cake he had before he left after this task, but that would depend on how irritated he would feel afterwards. Most would see the town as run of the mill, nothing overly exciting but to him, it was more a diamond in the rough and people needed to look at it from a different angle. He looked to the taller male as he spoke and nodded "I do agree. They would know more information than we do." he said walking towards the town, he knew that something was awaiting at the cliff that wouldn't be overly welcoming but that would have to wait, he wasn't about to walk into something if he didn't have as much information as possible, it made little sense to him in all honesty.

Rank & Element: Junior ¦ Light Class & Type: Relic ¦ Accessory (bracelet) Magic Specializations: Physical Reinforcement ¦ Healing Appearance & Lore: A simple bracelet made out of reinforced glass with an opalite charm dangling from it almost like a pendulum, that gives off a dull light during the day and a bright light during the night preventing any natural shadow from forming.
There is nothing of major historical importance or deep story into where this item came from. The white-haired heir of the Ravencrest family has suffered from terrible day and night terrors since he was young and still does to this day. When asked what is wrong he brushes it off telling people not to worry it was a condition he had. He will never go into the terrible things he sees, in fact, he personally wishes he could forget he quickly realized that his perfect memory was a double edge sword and at times he truly wished he didn't have it.
His elder sister Lydia was the first to realize that it happened more when he was in an emotional state or surrounded by darkness. She also realized that he refused to sleep unless every light source he could find was active or he would sleep outside under the sun during the day, this wasn't optimal as he was to be trained to take over the family if anything were to happen to Lydia. Still, there wasn't much anyone could think to do to help him as he refused to open up but even if they could that came with a different set of hurdles they had to get over. Hania earlier in his life wouldn't take things from people due to his treatment before being adopted.
It took a while but Lydia finally found a way to help her younger brother, she had a crystal made with light inside and told him to use it when he sleeps. She said it was hers and she just wanted to see if it would help. He was reluctant but she said it only had to be a few days so he accepted. Throughout those few days, he slept somewhat peacefully so it was clear that it helped but not enough, she could only guess that the light wasn't strong enough. She realized this would be fine for a normal child afraid of the dark but it was clear to the pink-haired woman that this wasn't a normal situation.
She personally designed what she believed would help him the most, she chose the materials, their appearance even the opalite that dangles from it. As the bracelet was being made she slowly started to imbue her own element into the glass beads and the opalite as the former was created and the latter was shaped. It took close to a year to complete but Lydia seen it as something that should be done slow and steady, this was to make sure that it was done right the first time and that no matter what it would be near indestructible for whatever he may face in life.
On what is now classed as Hania's eighth birthday after a certain incident happened, she gave him a box, within it laid the bracelet. He was told to keep it with him always as she would be there to keep the darkness at bay and watching over him so he could be at peace while he rested. From that moment he has always kept it with him even if he hasn't always worn it.

[attr="class","ardereescroll"]Just entering the town, Ardere could tell that the vibe was off. The eerie feeling he had before began to grow. His ears twitched as his eyes trailed to the coastline. For a moment he thought he heard...music? That was odd. Nonetheless he began to knock on doors and talk to people. We should probably split up and reconvene back near the shore, alright? He said to Hania. The two had made this adventure down to Hapshass together after all, but they would find more information split up. When it came time to engaging the culprit of these disappearances, then they would join forces. Nonetheless, he did want to make an effort in getting to know the Ravencrest better if possible. [break][break] Going door to door he talked to several citizens, but the answers were all the same. Drunkards and and overly curious people had been drawn to the shoreline by some strange music and then they never returned. No other odd appearances had been made in town, no newcomers either. Every time Ardere thought about that music he heard, there was a tingling on the back of his neck. It was almost as if something was attempting to draw him down there as well. Whatever magic was at work here was not to be trifled with. The citizens were clearly frightened. They would not even dare go near the shore now. It was starting to affect the trading business here. Something had to be done. [break][break] They all walked into the sea and never came back. The music chimed and called their names, now they are lost to us. Never to return. An old man was sobbing. Ardere placed a hand on his shoulder to console him. It was not just adults, but overly curious children who had wandered off into the night. The more he talked to the citizens of this good town, the more anger began to stir inside him. Even Salamander had begun to rumble within him like a volcano ready to erupt. After hours of wandering and talking, he found himself sitting on a bench at the edge of town waiting to Hania to arrive. Over and over I keep going over it but I never find anything new. Just loss here. I think our only hope is to wait for the music to call us as well and let it take us to where we need to go. He waited for the Ravencrest to arrive. There was a piercing ringing in his ear, prompting him to grab it and groan in pain. Then there was serenity. A beautiful piano tune resounded in his ears and in his mind. It was one of the most beautiful songs he had heard in a while, but he knew it was a Siren's tune. They were left with no choice but to follow it. The people here were in danger the longer they waited around. I can hear it calling me..I suppose I should answer, shouldn't I?
