[attr="class","julienglass2scroll"] The air in the Shadow Mana Zone was thick with negative emotions as darkness cloaked and swirled all around the area, it was a place that few would dare to enter unless there was a specific reason to be in there as beasts and other dark forces lurked behind every tree and over every hill seeking to pull those who dare step foot into the everlasting darkness never to return.”I never thought I would dare step back into here again but this is something that is necessary to grow stronger” Sol muttered to himself as he stepped thru the entrance into the mana zone with some trepidation in his form, however the moment he entered it was a bizarre feeling for him as he could feel the negative emotions swelling around him he could feel rage sorrow and regret bombarding him as well as bloodlust and malice but that wasent was had him feeling weird. The cause of his odd feeling was that despite the negativity in the air he felt strength flowing thru his form as if the darker mana and emotions were feeding his own power. [break][break] “I wonder if perhaps my new found magic is more attuned to this then my last one if that is the case then remaining in here for an extended period might be better for me then I thought” he muttered to himself again as he took a deep breath and focused around him noting that it was still extremely dark but he was finding himself more at ease then the previous months but that could most likely be attributed to the new strength that was flowing thru his body, for months the mantis had been dealing with a skittishness around the dark and in shadowy places due to his trauma from Kikka and being in almost sensory depriving dark with mana beasts just out of his line of sight. It had deeply effected the Shinryu more mentally and emotionally then Physically as he had walked out relatively unscathed but he knew that none had left Kikka without scars be they mental or physical. It was the main cause for Sol to be out here in a place that would cause him immense stress since it simulated that day rather effectively. [break][break] He was garbed in his usual attire since his appearance change which consisted of a long sleeved black chinese shirt with green markings around the sleeves and black pants with a pair of geta on his feet, on his shoulders was his usual green mantis mantle showing which squad he belonged to and the final piece of his outfit was his katana on his hip which he was never without and always took great care of. As he got farther in land he moved to a small bolder he set down after he focused and sensed no danger around him. He settled himself down into a cross legged position and he set his katana across his lap as he closed his eyes and focused on himself and the world around him, while his eyes were closed the blood mage was focusing his hearing and other senses to compensate for it as he thought back to his trauma in Kikka. He had been one of the weakest mages to enter and reclaim the town but it spoke volumes about his courage something that had no doubt had a hand in giving him the chance to joining the Royal Knights which was a high honor itself, while Ardere had pretty much stolen his decisive victory something that still left a foul taste in his mouth he had been picked to stop one of the deamons along with others in the elite group of knights. [break][break] He then went further into what had transpired while he meditated in the shadows. That was another thing that he remembered vividly the shadows and the condescending voice of Sven who had taunted all of them with various jabs all infuriating to hear but what still got Sol the most was that Sven had jabbed him on his weakness and his powerlessness in the situation he had been in. The jabs still dug into the decay mage for the longest time and he had gained a focus for strength from that day that still resonated with him greatly. He craved strength in all forms not just physical or magical but the brains and drive as well even still though he would not break the laws or go against his morals to gain strength as the Sol felt it wasnt right, however as twisted as it was Sol was somewhat grateful to the deamon in a way as it had shown him his own weakpoints and now he was improving on them rapidly even the squad he had joined the green mantis's were eager to see him grow and improve. [break][break] he also recalled the hassle he had gone thru with Lydia after the battle had finished, she seemed to have taken offense when he protested her endangering them all and his comments about how the town would be after this. This seemed to have angered the lion and she had dragged him back to the crimson lion base for questioning on his loyalty which was a complete waste of time, he had complied with all of their questioned and had answered honestly and proved that his loyalty towards the kingdom was still firm and not long after he had been released to which the blood mage still held a nasty grudge against the vice captain for causing so much issue. “That lioness is too thick skulled to listen to reason but I do have to give her some credit for saving me from the red haired idiot Echo” he muttered to himself with his eyes still closed. [break][break] It was another thing that had happened in the recent months, he had gone thru the exams to become a magic knight and had landed in the same squad as his friend Valo but it hadn't gone so smoothly as he had gone into the sparring matches against an arrogant and cocky youth named Echo Jeager, the man had been a jerk right from the start from boasting how he would win to insulting and throwing jab after jab at him, it was sickening to think about but apparently even the captains watching had been disgusted by his actions especially when it had come to his attempted to take out the decay mages eye with his blade. Thankfully for Sol the crowd had Lydia and Valo in it who jumped into action and had protected him from being maimed, it hadn't deflated Echos arrogance however as he had the nerve to mention he should be declared the winner just for being stronger. [break][break] Stronger bah Sol knew that the man thought with every muscle but the most important since while he was not a direct fighter the blood mage knew how to support his comrades but the red haired monkey had no respect for that apparently and even the Procter for the exams did as she had with no hesitation disqualified him form the exams before the light mage threw a fit as he walked out of the arena. That led him to the here and now, since he was now part of the royal knights he knew he needed to be stronger so now he was here training to strengthen his body and mana. The last time he had been out here it had been a disaster as the training at Zaven Blakes home had gone off the rails extremely fast. He had over estimated himself and had knocked out the blood mage in one go but even after that they had been ambushed by the enemies yet somehow spared in what seemed to be pity. The mere thought of that made the decay mage seethe. [break][break] He had nothing against other races of beings daemons were included in that as he had hoped that Ito and Lilltu had rested in peace after the events of Kikka but what the two who attacked had done was something that Sol had no respect for and it fueled the malice inside him even further.it was something that he noticed his decay magic seemed to almost feed off of when he made his curses, sure it was said that decay magic made some of the worst curses imaginable but it also came down to the intent and malice behind them which was a key part.'hopefully I can get some more knowledge on this new magic the longer I am out here since it seems that this magic is being amplified by this aura, so far I havent run into any wild beasts but no doubt that will change ill just need to be aware while I am focusing on tapping into this magic more' he thought to himself as he sat still and focused on the welling power inside him and his katana humming with strength as well. [break][break]
[break][break] An ornate katana with a twenty-four-inch (60 cm) blade. the sheath is made of what seems to be made of marble which has been carefully carved into and engraved with what looks like ruby, the base of the sheath has a gold kojiri. Just above the midway point, there seems to be a piece of onyx that has been set around the sheath, the top and bottom of the onyx seems to have the same white marble though it has been fashioned to look almost like fur or feathers. Connected to the onyx there seems to be additional ruby fastenings with ruby chains connecting one part to the next, near the top there is a ruby set in gold that leads off to three carmine red tassels. The handguard seems to be made out of gold leading into the hilt a hilt that is just under half the size of the blade that covered in lackered red marble before being surrounded in black ribbon with gold helm and small ruby beads at each crossing pattern of the ribbon. [break][break] The corrupting shadow was made using an unknown method outside of a certain noble family within Clover. This family has been shunned by many other noble houses because of their appearances and they macabre magic that they are born with so choose to remain in the forsaken region instead of the noble. Not a lot is known about this secretive family, it's hierarchy or its family mechanics and they aim to keep it that way, it allows them to continue doing what they are without too many questions being asked. One thing people will notice of this family is that when they pass their trial of adulthood they start wielding a weapon of some sort and how the dynamics of the family will change to that person. Jin Zhongli
Aeila and Jin had been partnered now a few months, while there was still allot to learn about her. He had grown pretty accustomed to mannerisms, what she liked and didn't like. He was getting the signs of what buttons not to push, and so on. At times it could be a little difficult, but it was worth it as Aeila was slowly discovering things about herself at least hopefully. More and more of her character would start to formulate inch by inch. It was a welcoming sight, for him.
In a lot of ways Aeila was another one of Jin's siblings, another sister to add to his family. Of course she wasn't a Zhongli, she had her own name. But Jin was starting to see her as such, and their bond getting closer and closer the more he tried to teach her about reading, and writing and speaking. It was as if he was responsible for all her lessons in terms of education, which he didn't do much back at home. Cause his life lessons with his younger siblings always involved silly but at the same time dangerous adventures, that would make their mother pretty annoyed. But with Aeila he took a more mature approach, more like his older brother Kiro whom was great at teaching and training kids despite his outside cold demeanor. Kiro always talked about patience and understanding, which Jin used for Aeila. His older sister Varia always talked about warmth and encouragement, which he struggled with in a teaching sense but he tried his best.
It wasn't as if he didn't want to show warmth or encouragement, is was the fact he usually lacked the words and actions needed for it. The Zhongli oddly enough had a very well blended mix of cold heartedness to anyone outside their family, to loving and caring to anyone in it. This is where Jin struggled, not that he didn't care for Aeila. But because this was the first time someone who started out as complete stranger, had become nearly as close as family for him. Also with her struggles and her difficult past, he didn't have the words to try and fix all the wounds.
But today's venture wasn't about book study, or writing exercises. Today was finally the day the took the sentient lantern up on it's offer and pay a visit to the Shadow Magic Zone. The lantern constantly spoke of the two gaining more power for themselves within the Shadow Magic Zone with it's influence. This was one of the reasons Jin got his hands on such an item, but more importantly he wanted it cause it could talk. As silly as it sounded.
The two rogues would making their way to the Shadow Magic Zone now. This would provide a great deal of training for them both, as the lantern constantly said they were barely scratching the surface of they could really do with their respective elements. Jin holding Void and Aeila holding Wraith. The two elements did have a more darker vibe and tone to them, so it made sense that their elements would grow in strength in the Shadow Mana Zone. But what Mriggan promised was special unique ability was for them to get stronger by training within the Zone, but it always left out the details as to how.
"You two have finally taken me up on my offer a higher strength awaits you here, once training is complete." Mriggan said with a joyful glee in it's voice. The lantern was being held in Jin's left hand, as he walked beside Aeila letting the energies of the mana zone pour into him. The white haired rogue took a deep breath in with his nose, and let it out. He was definitely stronger inside here, he could tell that much. "Mmm. So you say." Jin replied back to the lantern.
Looking over to Aeila being curious on her thoughts. "Aeila how are you feeling?" he asked her.

Aelia wasn't sure how much time had gone by since she had been taken from her home by the deceiving male who later abandoned her as he himself had gained the freedom he so badly wanted. She understood now that she was nothing more than a pawn in that scheme, that he didn't care what happened to her after he left, nor that she would be hunted and punished for leaving her 'room' without permission or a true caretaker. She could try and explain that she thought she was being obedient but she was quite sure that would fall on deaf ears and would only brandish harsher punishments for her. There would be a pelethra of reasons given on why she should have known she wasn't to go but in honesty she knew that was a lie as she was taught to obey without question and that is exactly what she had done.
On those first few days they had run across a white haired male she know knew as Jin and though they had been with each other for quite some time she was still cautious on her actions. He had been kind to her and was helping her to understand that how she had been raised was similar to his own but was very wrong in comparison. So far, he hadn't seemed to want to use her for anything nor had he hurt her in any way even on the rare occassion she was what would normally be seen as defiant at home. He was starting to get her use to making some small decisions so she was getting use to her new life little by little instead of being pushed into the deep end and being told to sink or swim, in honesty, even those minor decisions overwhelmed her at times.
One of the first decisions he had her make was what she would like to eat and has found that she enjoys fruit pancakes with apple or orange juice although she doesn't like toppings because they're to sweet for her. He wanted her to exist without her veil and so hid it from her, she did her best not to complain even when the light was hurting her eyes to the point she was in agonising pain but when it got far to much she begged for it back promising she'd behave. It took until the night they met Echo for him to fully understand just how sensitive her eyes were to light. She has been doing her best to not rely on her veil as much so attempts to sleep during the day when she can and travel in the evening when the light doesn't hurt as much.
She knows this isn't always possible given her job but it's been helping her quite a bit nonetheless. Their time together has been less than smooth but she has done her best not to make to many waves but it has been quite hard for her to adapt. During that time they had learned more about each other, their personalities, their likes and dislikes, mannerisms. She even found out Jin came from a large family but he didn't go into any other details. She could understand that as though they were almost like family it still didn't make them as such. She also knew that in their line of work that the more people knew about you the weaker you became and if they ever felt slighted or were paid enough they could give such information to people the person didn't want. She wouldn't ever do that to him, but, she knew he likely didn't realize it.
She walked by Jin's side silently thinking to herself the many things that she had learned while trying to drown out the fear she had that her brother had found her. She knew he would want to punish her and then drag her home to continue said punishment, she would have shuddered at the though but she had taught herself to go against such instincts when she was younger because it only seemed like it infuriated her father and made things so much worse. She worried that she would bring trouble to Jin so part of her was wondering if she should go back against what she said while travelling to the royal capital the evening they became members of Eclipse Raven. It weighed heavily on her shoulders, she knew that he would just shrug it off due to his personality but he didn't know her brother like she did.
She held her grimoire to her chest like she always did, she knew that Jin would prefer she put it in as satchel or in a place that it wouldn't be so obvious but she flat out refused. It was something she even refused to do when she was at home regardless of punishment, it was the first present she ever asked for that wasn't a question answered. Her father kept to his word like he had done ever year before and since and granted her birthday wish, she was thankful for it and knew that now it was one less thing she would be punished for. As a middle ground she listened to what Fredrick had said and just asked her to turn the front cover to her chest, he explained it much like you would to a five year old child and told her this way her family were closer to her heart.
It had made her smile and she liked the thought that they would be closer to her, so since that day the front cover had always faced her chest. In her left hand was her red spiderlily. It hadn't glowed in a while so she was wondering if death was taking a vacation or somthing, she question it to much as she knew that sometimes if she wanted new members of her family she would have to create them herself. Still, she was careful on who she chose and was never sloppy when she did on the rare occasion decide to take such a route. Around her eyes was the blindfold that had been given to her by Jin after the last time he put his foot in his mouth after talking about Fredrick in a negetive way.
She wasn't aggressive about a lot due to fear, the one thing that she seemed to get hostile about was her wraiths. It was obvious she cared about them by her interactions with them, suprisingly they weren't like most wraiths they kept their personalities and instincts completly intact. The reason behind this was completly unknown to everyone but her, when she invited them in and they had accepted, the prayer she said at the end was her sealing that bond she now held with them. She was feeding her own life into her wraiths so they could remain who they were in life.
It was the reason she appeared so frail even after her living situation had improved greatly while living with Jin, she wasn't concerned about it herself as it made her happy in the long run. It was only when the daemon in the lantern spoke Aelia came out of her thoughts her eyes turning towards it for a brief moment from under her blindfold but she said not a word continuing to walk forward to the destination they had been heading towards. "It try kill us." she said in a hushed tone, she had no idea why she uttered those words, it was almost like she could feel the hostilty of the shadowlands around them. It wouldn't be the first or last time something or someone had tried but they were still breathing so it just made them far superior predators than prey.
She stopped clutching her grimoire tighter briefly the energies were almost speaking to her, whispering things though she couldn't make out the words as it was in a language she didn't seem to understand but it was clear it was for her regardless. "Fine." she said not to sure what he was expecting her to say, she knew the last thing she should say to anyone was that she was hearing voices. She doubted that would go down to well, their was a surge in her mana she could tell that but she didn't want to mention that either in case it meant there was something wrong with her mana and he turned on her or got upset. She would have asked him why they were here but the lantern had kept going on about this infernal place so she guessed it was only a matter of time that they ended up here to made the damned thing finally shut up.

[attr="class","julienglass2scroll"] It had only been a little bit since the albino mage had started his meditation before he suddenly heard movement and touched his hand to the handle of his katana before he opened his eyes to be greeted with darkness once again but as the mantis rose up and he sheathed his katana he didnt feel fear grip him as he focused more on his hearing since his sensory was less then steller, as he moved forward he could only wonder what might be moving around in the shadows as he headed in the direction away from his current point, he moved from his location in case said noise was something intent on causing him harm. While the knight was more then ready to battle at some point here in the mana zone he was still focused on his training and getting his mindset calm since he was still getting used to such a place due to the lingering effects Kikka had on him. [break][break] As he moved away he found he was still on a semblence of road before he heard more noise and this time it was a voice asking someone how they were feeling he thought a name was said but couldnt make it out. Sol blinked before he would head in the direction of the voice his guard up incase it was the mana zone messing with his hearing but if it was a group that had wandered in by accident then he would gladly offer his help to get them out of the area, as he got closer he kept his hand near his katana but not in a way that would seem threatening as he was able to barely make out two humans figures before him which was almost impossible given the level of darkness which made the mantis strain his eyes. He decided to let his presence be known and he spoke softly so he didnt startle them as he moved closer so he could be seen better in the intense dark atmosphere. [break][break] “it seems I'm not the only one that ventured out here today though to come into such an area must mean you two are not faint hearted.” he said his tone was soft yet polite as he would turn his gaze between the two, looking at the male he could see well enough even in the darkness to tell the man had white hair same shade as his own and eyes the opposite color of his own, unlike Sol who's ruby slitted eyes almost seemed to glow like a flame in the shadows the others mans were a cool blue color, he seemed to also be dressed in black same as him too though a different style the the knight wore but that most likely was just a difference in culture. Turning his gaze to the woman beside him and noticed that her eyes were covered by a blindfold so he couldnt see her eye color much and her complexion was very close to his own but with the intense darkness he couldn't tell for sure.”ah I should introduce myself I'm Sol from Green Mantis a pleasure to meet you both” he said being polite though it was clear from his demeanor that he was on guard though it was not because of them it was the area they were in that had the mage on alert. [break][break] While he waited for them to respond the decay mage could only wonder what had brought them into the mana zone, it was not a common place to go and for the sheer level of danger that existed here to just come in for the fun of it seemed like a foolish and quick way to end up dead. The Mantis glanced between the two very subtly and he got the feeling that they were not here without any ryhme or reason they must have come here for a specific task and as long as it was nothing involving breaking the law the Knight had no problem helping them with a task within reason.

Jin Zhongli
The first thing Aeila said was quite interesting, just a simple sentence of 'It try kill us'. She was referring to the lantern of course, Jin unhooked it from his belt and held it up to his face. "Are you trying to kill us, Mriggan?" he asked it in a more cold tone, one he only used when he was being serious. This thought had yet to really settle in his mind, the lantern was always weird of course and spoke allot. But he never thought it was seeking to kill either of them, but he could be wrong. It was a malevolent spirit inside the lantern, that always spoke about the dark energies within the shadow magic zone.
"Kill you? Master I could never fathom the thought of it. I only desire to see you both at the highest of your potentials. That is all I desire." The lantern replied to the question, but it's tone was giving off a sense of doubt. As if it was hiding something. Jin looked at it a but longer, before bucking it back to his belt. "Mmmhhhmmm. I hope for your sake that is the truth."
Aeila's response as per usual was very simple, he didn't expect more than a one word answer at best. But even the times when she did suddenly burst out a few full blown sentences didn't surprise him as much anymore. He only asked how she was doing every now and then to make sure she wasn't to troubled. But at the same time getting her to speak honestly was like trying to make a five your old boy understand the importance of bathing everyday, almost impossible. But her silence was part of her charm, her 'fine' was good enough for him to keep moving. She still kept allot of her thoughts to herself, he had to respect that.
But before he could respond to her someone had entered his range of sensory, and was coming closer to them. So this person wasn't trying to hide themselves and once they were close enough and started to speak. The man was very pale, and had matching color hair with red eyes. His hand was slightly over his sword though, not in threatening way but in a prepared sense just in case he needed to draw it. It was respectable, it showed that this person was not an idiot. "It is true you won't find many feint hearts way out here, only the determined or the unwise." Jin said with a cheery tone.
"Sol from the Green Mantis! Aaahhh a magic knight! A pleasure indeed. You're famous! I've heard of a Sol that is apart of Green Mantis. The Ill-fated Omen if I remember correctly! Your pictures that are up around town are different though, your hair is longer." Jin said rubbing his chin looking at Sol, obviously other things were different but he believed it was only worth bringing up his hair. Jin was not expecting this, but it didn't have to be a bad thing. Jin himself had no personal issues or problems with magic knights, considering his line of work. Even though if one knew what he did for his life they would probably want to lock him up for a long time. It wasn't personal, it was their job to protect the innocent and defend Clover. Just like the other factions in the world, he had no issues with it.
"My name is Jacob, and this is Alana. And we've come here for training!" Jin said with some oomph in his voice as he said he gently tapped Aeila's shoulder. "What brings you here? Magic knight business I bet! Someone in need of saving! Or a mystery to be solved!?"
"His element I can feel it from here, it is dark in nature as well. Very interesting~"

Aelia turned her head toward Jin as he picked up her words, of course, he thought she was talking about the lantern but then it was easy to believe that she was given all she said was 'it' was trying to kill them. She did believe that the malevolent being inside the lantern was up to something given how often it spoke of this place. It whispered about power, strength and recognition, if it was someone like Echo then this lantern would have been happy long ago but she and Jin were a different breed of rogue. They knew that power and strength would only get them so far and that recognition would only make them very dead real quick. They were the types that used the correct tool for the job. Jin's magic was more versatile than her own, she on the other hand had to rely on the strengths of those she took with her.
In honesty, she was talking about the grand mana zone trying to kill them. She was unsettled being in such a place, especially with the whispers aimed directly at her. It was like things were trying to communicate with her but it was the same kind of static that she got when her 'momma' tried to talk to her. "Liar." she whispered hearing the lantern's words. She didn't trust the thing, it may have been interesting and may indeed get them stronger but that didn't matter if they both ended up dead now did it. It seemed as if Jin didn't believe the lantern either, but then, it didn't sound like the lantern actually fully believed its own words. Her thoughts wandered back to the night they had become members of Eclipse Raven, the night she was found by her elder brother Ryoshi.
He said that they would need to have a talk soon, she would be lying if she wasn't shaken from that single sentence as she knew exactly what it meant. It wasn't going to be a talk in any way, shape or form it was going to be a single demand and if she denied it, it would be punished at that moment before being dragged home to be punished and re-educated. She was thankful that Jin had been there or she would have been taken home at that time. She was confused why he said that they would both be waiting for that talk, she knew her brother wouldn't try anything while he didn't hold the upper hand. He was patient and would wait until she was on her own before doing anything. She didn't look over her shoulder, there was no point it was going to happen sooner or later she just had to wait.
She knew she didn't say much and the little she did say was broken, it often didn't really mean much to anyone but such habits were instilled within her thanks to her upbringing. She was trying to get better but she still didn't speak unless she believed it was important enough. The problem was she never believed anything she thought was important enough due to being conditioned that way. Jin had managed to get her to open up a little but it was still less painful to have your teeth pulled than to get her to talk. Though she wasn't as gifted in sensory she did have heightened senses so heard the others approach even with the whispers bothering her, her head turning towards the man. Soon enough he spoke to them about how they mustn't be faint of heart to be wandering around in a place like this.
It was then he introduced himself by his name and squad. They both knew who he was, in their line of work it was smart to keep an ear open to the information on the street because it helped you stay alive that much longer. She remained completely silent allowing Jin to take over this part as speaking wasn't her forte when dealing with others she didn't know, then again, it wasn't really her forte when dealing with Jin and they had been living together for months by this stage. He seemed almost excited, almost as if meeting some big celebrity. Had the pair been known this unexpected encounter may have been problematic but they had remained under the radar they were nothing more than civilians to the outside world. She didn't hold any ill feelings towards anyone and she knew that Jin didn't either.
At the end of the day, each person had their own job to do. Theirs just went against the grain of the law and his went with it preventing people like them from doing things that may upset what could be seen as a fragile balance. It was then he heard Jin introducing them with fake names, with the tap on her shoulder. This wasn't at all rare in their line of work as they needed to keep such information hidden for their own safety and those they death with or loved, it was sloppy not to regardless. She moved her empty hand to wave at Sol shyly before getting closer to Jin. She wasn't actually shy around new people but given that she was being silent she thought acting in such a manner would explain why she didn't. After all, shy people were often introverts that preferred staying within the safety of their social bubbles.
Her head turned towards the lantern as it spoke, she was wondering if there was a way to mute it because she was close to breaking it. It talked too much in her opinion and sooner or later it was bound to get them into a situation that was going to cause them all sorts of issues. She put her fingers to her lips as if instructing it to remain quiet, she doubted it would listen to her, it rarely did until she got Fredrick involved who normally scolded her before taking the lantern and placing it in a closet as if putting a child into a timeout. It was interesting the first time Jin found it in the closet as he was confused about the whole situation when Fredrick explained the situation after the lantern complained he laughed saying that he got what he deserved and not to upset her or it would happen again. It had happened several times since that day.

[attr="class","julienglass2scroll"] Sol blinked as the man greeted him first and in a rather cheery tone one he wasn't expecting but he then explained that the faint hearted wouldn't be found here just the determined or the unwise which made the decay mage chuckle a bit.”indeed and you two don't seem unwise in the slightest a good sign” he said his hand still near his katana but his demeanor and posture relaxed a bit, as he introduced himself it seemed that he was becoming more famous then he thought as it seemed the strangers had even heard of his new title the Ill-Fated Omen. The title was one that he enjoyed though it held dual meaning for him since while he could considered a omen of misfortune on the battlefield it also brought up that his fate from birth had been less then stellar and he was actively trying to change it for the better as well, when it was brought up that his hair was longer the Mantis had to resist chuckling as that was the least obvious of the changes that had happened but he appreciated the avoidance of his skin color. [break][break] “indeed I had a magical awakening of sorts recently and in response almost overnight my hair and skin turned this color and it grew out it was quite a shock to be sure though I suppose now it matches your own” he said a small smile and chuckle at the end as he joked a bit,he didn't have an issue with his appearance since he had gained his new magic but that was greatly attributed to his new squad, they had welcomed him with open arms and didn't judge him on his appearance or his magic just on his desire to get stronger and protect the realm which he put great effort into every day with his training and his missions. As the white haired stranger introduced himself as Jacob and the young lady as Alana before explaining that they were here for training, as the girl named Alana waved shyly at him Sol gave her a gentle smile and waved back. As he was asked why he was here and Jacob asked him if it was perhaps a someone needing to be saved or perhaps a mystery in need of solving which made the Red eyed Mage shake his head slightly. [break][break] “Actually Jacob I am here for the exact reason you two are to train though for me its more Mental and magical training” he said before he glanced around at the shadows.”I'm sure you know of the events that happened in Kikka I was one that was part of the reclamation of it, while we succeeded it wasnt without problems the townsfolk seem to hate us even though we succeeded in the mission and we all walked away with scars some physical and some like myself mental.” he explained before he went on.”I'm here to get rid of some of that trauma that the engulfing shadows cause me and to hone this new magic I obtained perhaps I could join you two in training if that's alright given how dangerous this place is it might be better to stay in a group” he suggested , if they were intent on training then it would help to have more in the group since it meant they could practice their skills without the risk of over extending themselves and a renegade beast taking them out. It was then that he heard a voice that came from the lantern and he blinked a bit in surprise. [break][break] “Interesting trinket you have Jacob im guessing a spirit inside it? Though for the things statement it is true the reason im out here training is the element I need to work on is Decay magic something im still trying to get a decent grasp on and lessen the drain on my own mana reserves.” he questioned then explained before he went on.”my other magic is easier to handle but it seems that Decay is an element that is a bit more... taxing on ones system though its power is undeniable” he added. It was true he needed to get a handle on that aspect of his magic or it would be a a handicap that would harm him more then help. It was something that the mantis hoped that by training in the mana zone that he would gain a far better grasp and perhaps greater control. Though the lantern itself made the albino wary since it was able to pick up his element so quickly and it set him on edge but for now he would deal with it and hopefully move forward with training with the two before him since he knew the longer they were out here then needed the more risk they put themselves in something he didnt want to do anymore then was necessary . Jin Zhongli
Once Jin introduced himself and Aeila, she kept her to normal quit and reserved self giving Sol a simple cute wave. Usually when it came to meeting new folk and the duo were together, most of the talking was left to him. Which he didn't at all Jin was pretty good with conversing with nearly anyone, and with Aeila's broken speech pattern she never wanted to say to much. The good thing was Sol seemed like a decent fellow at least upon first introductions. He took pride in himself from what Jin gathered, but while also remaining humble and relaxed.
The lantern Mriggan did speak though, and of course it was about Sol. The lantern was starting to become more and more of a nuisance, just because it wouldn't keep quiet. And obviously once someone sees and hears and talking glowing green lantern with a malevolent looking face inside, they will undoubtedly have questions. Right now Jin felt like tossing the lantern in it's time out closet himself.
But there was something Sol had said that caught Jin's interest. He mentioned having a magical awakening of sorts, and it changed his appearance. From what Jin could tell at least from the photos around town, that the physical change was drastic. He's only heard of magical awakenings a few times from some of his older siblings, they are said to be extremely rare but potent. "A magical awakening, interesting. I've heard of things similar before. The world we live in, never ceases to amaze me. Among all the possibilities, there are still things yet to be discovered." Jin replied to the magic knight and he truly meant that in much more ways than one.
To Jin's surprise Sol was actually here to train just like them, as he stated it was more mental and magical training. The mental aspect as he stated was to recover from what transpired in Kikka. Jin heard about Kikka quite a bit, it was quite the ordeal for allot of people. Civilians and Magic Knights. A town swallowed by darkness for months, the people surviving on nothing but their own wills. It was a tragic event that still lingers. Luckily enough none of his own family members happened to be in Kikka at the time.
Despite being cold hearted at times cause that is what his profession asks of him, Jin isn't a maniacal or ruthless person. He has stolen many things, kidnapped many people and has taken many lives along with much much more. And he has done it all in the most efficient of ways, cause thats how he was raised along with his other siblings. But his family as a whole, the Zhongli don't take satisfaction in such tragic events like what happened in Kikka. Such tragedy benefits no one, not the Magic Knights, not the Church, and not the Rogues factions especially the main fallen families. They do not seek for the world to burn or be destroyed, if anything they want it to flourish but for it flourish in their favor. So when such tragic events like that happen, it effects even them albeit at a distance.
But Jin could empathize with Sol's mental struggles, but he couldn't have a complete understanding cause he wasn't there. "Kikka was a tragedy. Your efforts in reclaiming it, are very much appreciated. As just someone whom heard what happened from a distance, many lives were lost during that time. I do hope your mind will be at ease." Jin said to the magic knight with a nod in a much more serious tone than before.
After that he turned his head towards Aeila. "What do you think about the Ill Fated-Omen joining us for training today? He makes a good point, it might prove to be beneficial!" he asked with a smile. Training with a magic knight could be...tricky, Jin wasn't a fan of showcasing his magical element to anyone he didn't have to. Same for Aeila's element, only because they were both so rare. Meeting another mage that had either wraith or void was like one in a million. But overtime while being away from his family, he was starting to realize that sometimes it was just unavoidable. But he could also deny the request, As Sol continued Jin's eyebrow raised. He mentioned real quick what element he was practicing being out here, the lantern was right. It was decay magic.
The same magical element of his mother, the one that made his spine twitch just hearing it. His mother used her element when she felt punishment was necessary for her children. She isn't a malicious person nor does she take pleasure in punishing her children, but because of their profession they needed to be extremely efficient. So at times punishments had to be harsh, and thats when her decay magic came in. Jin had spent many days in Lěnggōng back home, mostly because of his rebellious attitude. He constantly got into with his mother which nine times out of ten, led to him spending time receiving the ends of her element. He didn't fear it as much anymore like he did when he was a child, but it still made slightly uncomfortable. "You said decay magic?...On second thought Sol I think we-"
"IT IS SET!" Mriggan shouted suddenly interrupting Jin before he could finish his sentence. A vast release of green mist released from the lantern spreading far out into the Grand Magic Zone. It was obvious the malevolent lantern had activated some kind of stored up ability. "Hahahahaahaaa."
"Mriggan what did you do?" Jin asked the lantern his voice more angrier than usual, but there was also a hint of concern in it.
"Master I promised I could make you both stronger, and start to realize the true potential of the elements you both posses. Even the one that holds decay! I do not lie! What I provide is opportunity! The opportunity to test yourselves and truly push past limits! So far i've witnessed you and her always be so careful in your decisions! Outwitting and outsmarting your foes! It is admirable! But what happens when you cannot plan for whats ahead!" Mriggan said with a maniacal laughter.
Right after that about forty meters away, a pair of purple red eyes could be seen from within the shadows. Creeping closer and closer until it's full image could be seen. It looked like some kind of mutated large black owl, it's feathers made of shadow. It was just one, but from how it looked it was strong. It was probably eight feet tall, and it's wingspan easily doubled that.
"Mriggan...stop this or I will break you myself." Jin said to it his eyes never leaving the placement of the large owl beast.
"Master it cannot be stopped, and the shadows cannot be broken." its tone was allot more sinister.
Aelia remained still and quiet as the two men talked, she could still hear the whispers though they still weren't clear. In honesty, she was unsettled in the area, it was almost peaceful yet hostile at the same time and to her, that was never a good sign. Under her blindfold, her eyes were moving around as if trying to get a feel for the area and where the whispers were coming from. Given how the others were conversing she was quite sure they couldn't hear them so it made her wonder why this place was trying to communicate with her or all people. Her attention once again switched to the albino male in front of them as he stated that they didn't seem to be unwise, she was trying to comprehend how he could get a sense of that in less than a moment from their initial meeting.
She knew of the 'ill-fated omen' as people in their line of work needed to know who it was best to be cautious of or avoid if possible. Unlike a lot of people who walked the same path as herself and Jin, they had managed to keep below the radar but that almost went out the window when they did their initiation for Eclipse Raven. He explained vaguely about his difference in appearance, that didn't really concern them but it was important information to store away for later she expected. Mid conversation she tugged on Jin's sleeve to get his attention before tapping her blindfold to know if it was safe enough to take it off yet. It appeared to be made from lace allowing her to see right through it, the magical properties took away the searing light that hurt her eyes so much but it also meant she never knew when it was safe to take it off.
She wasn't surprised to hear about such a place being used for training, after all, that's why they had come here... well that and to get the infernal lantern to shut up for a time. She was still trapped at home during the time Kikka had fallen under daemonic control, her father in that time hadn't used her at all deeming it unsafe. Not because he actually cared about her but because he could lose his prized tool. She didn't really know much about Kikka's history but she was told that bad things had happened there and the people of the town still felt the pain and anger from it. She was now starting to wonder if she should look into it more so she could understand her new world, but this made her think a bit.
It was only there briefly but Jin knew her mannerisms and could pick up on her micro-expressions so would have picked up on the face she made when she was focused on something. She knew given present company he couldn't ask her what was on her mind and even if he did, he'd know he wouldn't get an answer until they were alone. Sol then asked if he could join them for training, she didn't like the thought of it, it was too risky to do so but at the same time to deny a highly decorated magic knight may raise a few red flags so it would be risky either way in her mind and there was no lesser of two evils there. The thing that worked to their benefit, however, was that they weren't known so the risk was reduced to next to nothing, the issue was their magics were rare and that posed a way for them to be identified easily.
It was then Jin turned his attention to her and listened to the question he hoped he wasn't going to ask of her, she looked down and shifted uneasily. To Sol given how shy she had been would likely put it down to her not liking to be around people, she didn't know, Jin on the other hand likely would have picked up on her trying to signal that she really didn't want to for several reasons. void was easy enough to hide given there were other elements such as shadow and dark that kind of acted or looked similar to it, wraith wasn't as lucky. She eventually gave a small nod, but subtly touched her grimoire shaking her head just as subtly for Jin to pick up showing she was refusing to use her magic with Sol around.
She knew this put her at a severe disadvantage but at the same time, she was taught to protect herself and the best interests of her family which now included Jin in her mind. It sounded as if Jin himself was about to back out of the agreement of training but before he could that infernal lantern cut in breaking everyone's train of thought. She looked at the green mist that it had let out her eyes darting around the grand manazone like she was trying to pinpoint something. She knew something bad was coming, she knew the malicious spirit within the lantern was up to something given all his poking and pushing, this just proved it. She went towards the lantern mid-speech and flicked it showing her annoyance with it. This was the last thing they needed right now, she was going to make sure the damned thing was gonna get more than a timeout after this.
She turned hearing the screech and narrowed her eyes back at the lantern before looking at Jin, she didn't want to use her magic, she couldn't not with Sol around and she herself had no physical weapon as she had yet to go to the market to get one. It was something that she was planning to do with Fredrick in the next few days as there had been whispers of the black market gaining a new shipment recently. She wanted to break it but it just let whatever the hell was inside it out and that would cause more issues than it was currently worth. This was something she and Jin would have to talk about in the future because not only did this thing blabber too much it had put them in a situation that should have been avoidable and she wasn't having this be a common occurrence.

[attr="class","julienglass2scroll"] Sol nodded at the words Jacob had said about his awakening and knew that there were some truth to them, who knew what else could awaken in him now that this had happened if this was a start who was to say there wasn't any more changes that would happen further down the line that could be in store for the Blood mage be it for Good or for ill, Sol also noticed that the one called Alana was choosing to remain silent and kept to themselves but he didn't mind since he knew some people were not fans of interacting with others . Jacob would then go on to state that what happened in Kikka was a tragedy and that the efforts that Sol and the others had taken to reclaim it were very much appreciated, he also stated that he hoped his mind would be at ease which made Sol shake his head Somberly.”honestly I don't think my mind will be at ease from the events of that day completely for a long time Jacob I honestly wonder if we knights got lucky that day given that the daemons were toying with us, what makes it worse is that like I said the towns folk became very distrusting towards the magic knights you should have heard the words whispered at the last exams held there” he said his tone showing that it saddened him how the events had played out. [break][break] “so many of them looked at hopefully knights with scorn and for those like myself who had been there like the second coming of the devil like I would bring the darkness back” he explained as he took a breath before going on.”the only thing we can hope is that with time the wounds from that day will heal little by little” he explained before Jacob would then ask his partner if it was ok for the blood mage to join them and after a few moments Alana nodded showing she was ok though from her interactions with the man Sol could sense there was more to it then expected but he didn't push. Once his element was revealed it seemed that the one called Jacob became a bit more hesitant to let them join before the lantern on his side suddenly called out that something was set before unleashing an eerie green mist with a wicked laugh and instantly Sol went on edge.”Jacob whatever that thing did it most likely is less then pleasant and depending on what it did I might suggest destroying it” he said showing he wasn't wary of them but the item itself since it was clear that the void mage hadn't known about the ability and was in fact angry it decided to trigger it on its own. [break][break] The Decay mages eyes were darting all around as the area trying to see whatever he could so they wouldn't be caught off guard as the lantern Mriggan went on to state that it would make all three of them stronger but what it would offer them to gain that was an opportunity to test and push past their current limits, it explained that they normally were careful looking to outwit and outsmart their foes but what would they do when they couldn't do either of those things, Sol wanted to raise an eyebrow but given he just met these two he wouldn't judge them since for all he knew the item was lieing to get a rise out of all of them.”you rely on your strength and the strength of others use what you can” he stated as he flicked open his blade a bit in case he needs to slash at something quickly. As he did he heard Jacob tell the lantern that if it did not stop whatever it was doing then he would break the item himself as a set of red eyes appeared nearby as a owl like creature appeared before them with a screech.” I was afraid of this seems the things drawing things to us and in a area like this that is the last thing we want” he muttered grimly as he cracked his knuckles on his left hand to trigger one of his spells. [break][break] The Lantern would sinisterly say that there was no way to stop what had been put into motion and the shadows couldnt be stopped which made the albino want to scowl in annoyance.as he heard the words a mass of reddish black mana to appear before him right as the Owl shadow beast suddenly lunged forward.'attack and knock it back' he commanded thru the mana tether as his beast suddenly shot out from the mana with a wordless roar its form while dark from the environment was clearly from the Mantis's decay spells. The creatures fur was patchy and spots were clearly rotting away as its ribs were shown and its claws burnt gouges into the ground from the caustic fluid coming from them as well as the deadly saliva it had dripping from its fangs, what made it seem even more deadly though was the tail of the beast which while barbed with serrations along it making it a deadly blunt weapon was also tipped with a razor sharp stinger that was also dripping deadly fluid. The beast shot forward intent on doing its creators bidding and as the owl beast would approach the manticore would shoot forward with its claws outwards intent on knocking the beast in the chest and sending it toppling backwards but it wasent done with just that as the beasts tail shot forward too and was aimed right at the owls large eye intent on gouging it out and injecting a deadly payload into it was well, meanwhile Sols Grimoire had opened beside him staying close in case he needed to grab it but he already could feel the mana drain from such a spell and he grimaced a bit from the strain the spell was putting on him. Jin Zhongli
It wasn't often Jin got very angry, or even frustrated. At most he would only allow himself to get annoyed with certain things and certain people. When he was younger his older brother Kiro taught him, and enforced in him the importance of controlling said anger. A heavy release of air came from his nose, both hands clenching the lantern gripping it hard. He was trying to break it, but the lantern wouldn't even form a crack. Jin's strength was nothing to scuff at, he kept applying pressure but instead of the lantern breaking it simply vanished from his hands in a puff of green smoke!
And appeared again on top of nearby house, laughing in it's same maniacal laughter. Jin had missed his opportunity to crush the lantern to pieces he was seconds away, from just attacking it with one of his spells. But with Sol around he was reluctant to use his magic, it was such a limiting factor especially at the worst of times. Aelia herself was restraining herself from summoning her wraiths, following Jin's words without question.
As the beastly looking owl ran into attack Sol was first to take action, summoning a golem spell and attacking it with a decay spell. A shiver ran down Jin's back seeing the decay spell. It wasn't so much how the decay spell looked, Jin had seen plenty of disgusting things in his life. It was more the memories that it brought up, when he was being punished for his actions by his mother. But he couldn't let himself get sidetracked right now because of his past.
"Oooohhh of course the magic knight is the first to take action! Have some more yes!?" Mriggan continued bringing two more shadowed owl beasts into the mix.
With their speed and ferocity Aelia would have little ways to defend herself here. Jin looked at one of the beasts running towards them, and simply bent his middle finger down on his right hand and holding it with his thumb. He was activating one his void spells.
Vreal
'Split the convergence, creating divergence'.
A thin void rift was created directly in front of the beast while it ran, and moved quickly splitting the beast in half. As the rift literally erased whatever it came in contact with a closer looked at the shadow beast would find no blood or inside guts. Just a beast split down the middle in a matter of seconds. The rift itself was still active and stayed in place for now. Jin felt comfortable using his magic in front of Sol, mostly because he needed to. But also because he was willing to take the chance that this won't come back and bite him.
The rogue looked towards Aelia and nodded. "Let them aid you." he said the words to her, indicting she should feel free to use her magic as well.
Jin looked back up at the lantern and created another rift right above it to split it in half, but the lantern teleported once more avoiding the attack.
"Master! Please trust that I have your best interest in mind! This is not an act of betrayal, but an act of necessity! I do this not because I want to see all of you die! But because I want to see all of you grow! You as well decay mage, I see the toll your magic takes on your body and mana! This is no good!! How will you be a strong decay mage if you don't have the reserves to use it! You all have so much growing to do!! And I will make sure you all...grooooowwww."
As the lantern spoke, another larger shadow started to form revealing a hulk like beast with white horns and large horns. Releasing a shriek that can be be heard miles away. It then started to immediately run towards sol's decay golem, aiming to smash it with it's large arms!
The young raven-haired necromancer remained still and quiet as Sol spoke to Jin, she didn't understand why someone would feel anxiety or fear within the darkness. She found it soothing surrounded by it, it was the light that she feared as it not only hurt her eyes but had the power to show what was hidden. She could understand being looked at differently for things that were outside of your power, she had faced that her entire life but to her, that was normal. Thanks to Jin however she was starting to realize what her family had done to her was far from acceptable and had helped her transition from how she was to what she was slowly blooming to become. By this point, it would have become more and more apparent that the treatment she garnered in early life would permanently have stunted her growth but she celebrated every small change and victory as an accomplishment.
Her eyes then turned to the lantern for a moment as she heard it laugh at what had happened, she was really starting to hate the thing the more often she was around it. It was always causing her problems, she had wanted to leave it in the closet when they came here as she knew that it was up to no good and this just proved it. Even as she was attacked all she did was dodge it, the owlbear was aiming to hit her, she had no intention of hitting them for doing what was natural to them. More than that she was quite sure they weren't thinking straight. Jin had made quick work of their enemies, she could tell where he was comfortable using his magic in here he wasn't too happy about it, still, it would be easy to cover up.
Hearing him say to let them help her she shook her head, she was flat out refusing to use her magic here and now. It wasn't often she stood her ground, in fact, in the time they had been living together this would have only been the second or third time she had ever done such a thing. She knew that her wraiths could help her but they weren't like golem magic who were seen as hollow puppets. No, here wraiths looked as they did when they were alive and she even made sure to have their personalities and such intact, this meant they could talk and make other sounds which golems couldn't. She watched as Jin tried to destroy the lantern but to no avail, what made it worse was the damned thing was trying to make excuses for trying to kill them which wasn't working.
She brought her blindfold up for the first time since arriving, her indigo eyes looking over the initial area, her eyes clearly having no issue in the dark. She looked at the lantern with a scornful expression that the daemon inside would know only one of his kind to wear and only under one circumstance, her eyes went back to the mana beast as she placed her grimoire on the ground with her faintly glowing red spider lily. Standing she moved her hands out towards the mana beast almost as if she had intended to embrace it "Return home to the graveyard, your mother is missing you." she spoke, her voice soothing almost caring towards the mana beast. It instantly stopped in its tracks and looked at her almost confused by the words. She felt dizzy speaking them but the whispers had stopped for now at least.
The mana beast walked towards her as she moved her hand to her head falling to her knees, the shadowed beast seemed almost to take a protective stance to protect her as if by instinct. Her eyes went to the beast and then to Jin, she didn't know what was going on and it showed on her face, she was hoping that Jin would have some sort of explanation of how this was happening. Ordinarily, she would have worried about the lantern but Fredrick had made it abundantly clear what would happen to it if he breathed a word to anyone about her magic or even mentioned it around people who weren't in her very limited family group. For now, she remained where she was but would step in if anyone attempted to hurt the mana beast in front of her and sh didn't care who it was either.
[attr="class","julienglass2scroll"] Sol bit back a growl as he saw Jin trying to break the lanturn and for all the effort he was putting in the damn thing didnt even crack it merely warped away from them and onto a nearby house while gleefully telling them to have some more while commenting that he was the first to strike,”Jacob I think we need to break that thing as soon as possible it really likes the sound of its own voice” he commented as he saw the owl beast lunge at him again and he quickly ordered his golem to jump backwards narrowly dodging the swipe of the shadowy claws before its stinger lashed forward once more and impaled the creatures other eyes as it let out a piercing shriek and then fell over. While he got a chance to breath he didn't get much time as another owl beast started to approach again, Sol quickly snapped the fingers on his right hand causing droplets of blood to hit the ground as he grabbed his manticores tail and was shot into the air. As he was descended the beast would find tendrils of blood erupting from the ground and wrapping around the beasts limbs the serrations biting into them and causing pain while slowing them down while the mantis came down and unsheathed his blade while impaling the beast in the neck once before pulling out his blade and stabbing into its body. [break][break] The beast however didnt like that and suddenly bucked sending Sol backwards with his blade but he managed to right himself as he took no damage from the sudden movement and he flicked his blade to get rid of any shadowy blood. Already the Mantis could feel the strain on his body from the heavy use of mana and if he didnt cancel out his golem soon he would be at the mercy of the beasts around them until he recovered somewhat,' this is not a good situation that blasted item is creating more and more of those beasts and I dont think it really intends to strengthen us since this is more like a death sentence' he thought, a glance at Jacob revealed what looked like void magic if Sol had read correctly which was a very rare magic but not one that was inherently bad. The red eyed mage knew that magic wasnt truly evil it was the user that determined that and so far the white haired man using void had not shown Sol any reason to be distrusting or concerned. [break][break] As the lanturn suddenly decided to summon another breast this time even bigger Sol saw it heading for his manticore and he started to send a command for it to move before the young mage Alana suddenly put her book down and stepped in front of the beast ready to embrace it or so it would would seem,”Alana move” he called out trying to avoid her taking a fatal hit but then something happened that shook the decay mage to his core, she lifted up her blindfold revealing indigo eyes and she spoke words that Sol had only ever heard once before and instantly the beast calmed while Sols eyes went wide in confusion and terror. The albino felt his body start to shake violently as chills went thru his body and he started to find it hard to breath.”H..how do you know those words those words were only ever spoken once before and that was in Kikka but you werent there y..you couldnt have heard them” the Mantis uttered his tone showing fear and extreme confusion as he took a few steps back now clearly freaked out. [break][break] While he was struggling to breath correctly and control the tremors wracking his body Sols eyes never left where Aelia was.”theres no way you could known that phrase only my team heard it to save us from beasts in Kikka and the one who told us was... Lilitu” he said the last part with fear clearly in his voice as instantly the trauma from Kikka rushed over him all over again as he struggled to keep his mind focused and not risk passing out from struggling to breath correctly, Sols eyes were focused on Aelia at the moment and while it was clear he was greatly freaked out he was still not showing any hostility to the wraith mage at current.'how on earth does she know those words it makes no sense only those in kikka knew those words and even fewer knew what they would do yet it seems like it just calmed that beast down so it begs the question how does she know' he thought to himself as he every so slowly got his breathing back under control. [break][break] It did nothing to remove the fear or confusion in his eyes though as he could only wonder one thing and that was how this stranger knew such secret information, he made a mental note to ask at some point and only gently since pushing would only make hims seem like the bad guy but he would no doubt ask a few questions just to give him some piece of mind, for now he just needed to get himself back under control and quickly before the lantern decided to throw anymore curve balls at them since so far it wanted to strengthen them but killing them seemed far more likely given the situation and location they were in.'at least at this time that big one doesnt seem to be a threat and hopefully if the situation doesnt turn sour we can keep it that way it might even become an ally for a time' he thought to himself. Sols ruby eyes peered thru the darkness trying to spot where on earth the infernal item had gone since if he had his way he would be destroying it the first chance he got and would apologize to Jacob later if need be since it did happen to belong to him. Jin Zhongli
As if things weren't weird already, in a matter of seconds it would only get more and more strange. Jin expected Aelia to use her magic to defend herself she wasn't shy about using it before. But this time she did something he did not really predict, she took off her blindfold and was able to tame the mana beast. As far as he knew Aelia's ability was able to bring life back into the dead, thus creating wraiths at her own command. Of course there was other details that went into this, but that was a basic definition of it. What she was doing now made no sense to Jin, he was just as confused as she was.
The lantern was also confused, but not so much taken aback by it. Still on top of the house watching as things played out. A interesting hum left it. "Hmmmmmmm. Interesting...very interesting indeed. Not what I expected but, my only expectations are to bring out your inner potentials. Master I shall return for now...gather and prepare yourselves." Mriggan said with a wide a grin on it's demonic skull like face. The next moment it vanished in a poof of green smoke avoiding another one of Jin's void rifts that he created. "Mriggan! Stop this!"
Jin cursed to himself, he now wanted to destroy the lantern and that was twice now he failed to do so. He did not like failing, and he did not like being caught off guard. This venture into the shadow lands was not suppose to be like this at all, but Jin was far to experienced to lose himself in anger and let it cloud his mind. For right now they didn't have to deal with any threats of mana bests, so it was best to gather themselves.
Jin looked towards Sol whom seemed to be going through a form of panic attack, addressing Aelia's use of words and how she shouldn't know them. Jin himself was confused by this from what he could tell by Sol's response. Aelia words were the same that the Green Mantis magic knight heard in his time at Kikka. Strange, very strange. Jin approached his partners side and held up his hand hoping Sol would relax. "Who is Lilitu? We don't know who this person is? At least I don't. Please just relax and calm down." Jin said to the magic knight. He wanted to avoid a physical confrontation with the magic knight if possible. "It seems things have calmed down now. My...talking lantern for the time being is gone. Let's just pause and regroup ourselves, yes?" Jin spoke to Sol
He then turned his head to Aelia and used his left hand to point at the large shadow mana beast now in her control. "I can tell you are also confused, but it can't hurt us right now right?" he asked to make sure she had a good handle of the beast. If not he was going to destroy it, no matter how angry it made her.

Aelia remained quiet on the ground, her hands going towards her grimoire and her red spider lily, she had never managed to have sway as she had managed only a few seconds before and it scared her. She knew that she could force her wraiths to go against their natures but never had, she didn't view them as soulless or puppets, they were as free as they were in life albeit bound to her while she still drew breath. As of yet, she had never found one of her wraiths that wouldn't do as she wanted and that included Fredrick though he would complain about it. When she inquired about it through the bond she had with them they told her it was because of how they were treated by her. This made her feel as if her bond with them were that much more special and wanted to make sure never to tarnish it.
Picking up her belongings she made her way to her feet but saw how Sol was reacting, she took a few steps back as she knew that a scared animal could and would lash out. Her movements put the mana beast on edge and it let out an ear-piercing screech as if to ward Sol off. She moved onto her tiptoes trying to pet its head but was getting frustrated she couldn't reach but smiled as it lowered its head so she could pet it. She had no idea who Lilitu was, she had spent the majority of her life isolated from people and never really left the village she called home unless he father permitted it. Her eyes went to Jin as if begging him to help her, she only had a few sentences she could speak fluently and that was because she was taught to parrot them.
This situation was well out of her comfort zone as she was always told not to interact with people if she couldn't be fluent. It was why she played mute the majority of the time. Hearing Jin's words about pausing and regrouping thanks to the lantern giving them some breathing room, for now, seemed like a wise choice as none of them knew how long it would be before the next wave of combatants would be drawn to them from that infernal lamp. It was then she was asked about the mana beast her eyes going to it. She could already tell this thing wasn't alive, her eyes moved towards Jin and nodded to his question showing that the mana beast was indeed not a threat at that moment. She just waited, for now, to see what would happen next and in which direction they would be heading too. Hopefully, the lamp wouldn't cause any more issues but she wasn't about to hold her breath.
