[attr="class","polarPOSTIT"] Yugo listened quietly as Joseph spoke about his birth and how his mother acted. He didn’t understand why a woman or a man would act such a way to their child. He had mentioned earlier that all she needed to do was not use her voice but… he also understood how unfair that was. Ho could he not? He had often wished hed never been born so his parents could be happier. But even then… it didn’t sit right with yugo to hear that she couldn’t even do that for her child. Perhaps it was best she wasn’t in his life. She would have only hurt him more no doubt. But…ah how could yugo even say somehing like that to him? He would hear his request to go and find the music and hed nod. “Of course I… ill find as much of it as I can.” hed smile and lift josephs hand to his lips and kiss it softly before making his way upstairs to the attic. [break][break] As he began tp search the chest, he would smile seeing many of the music players still were there. Good, he thought to himself. Hed search through listening to a few as he tried to find the very first one he ever heard. The one from her debut opera, even then she was a proud person. He loved the confidenc in her voice. It did hurt a bit learning that she was such a terrible parent. How could she treat herself and joseph like they were expendable lives, and yet…. wasn’t he willing to sacrifice himself? Would he himself have happily died for others? That was the differene though…she died for herself and not for others sake. He would find the song and smile gently as he stood and looked at it lovingly. [break][break] he would begin to make his way toward joseph, walking by each portriat and painting that was still there, as the edges of each burned away as if the past was turning to dust. By the time he got to the middle of the hallway, he was left with no pictures around him. Just empty frames designed to hold pictures and portaits that do not exist. Yet even as he walked, he could feel something swelling in him. Some seed had sprouted, and he felt the tears come back to his face. He wasn’t yet near the kitchen and hed smiled tears falling on the floor as he silently cried tears of happiness. He wasn’t alone anymore. Even if it was only for as long as joseph loved yugo, even if it was only for this day he felt present, and here for once. No longer half stuck in the past, he now had both feet firmly planted in the present. [break][break] Hed look bac behind him. And he smiled softly as he thought to himself. “Mother…Father….I wont ever stop working to prevent what happened to you happening to other people. I wont ever stop that quest that dreamed so long of.” hed wipe the tears from his face and look toward where joseph was waiting. “watch, as your child who once could not walk on his own, stride full strength into the world beyond this house. I shall make you both…no…ill make myself proud, one step at a time.” hed finish his thoughts right as he got to the kitchen and he smiled, no traces of tears left. “I found it.” hed smilee setting it on the kitchen island, it was small, and shapped like a seashell. “This was the recording of her first ever performance. Before she became a proper opera singer. It was old when my mother found it, and we played through it often. So I cant make any promises it wont break soon, or if it will even play after so long. “ it was from the very start of her career. Or at the very least so close it might as well have been. When joseph was ready hed play the recording. And joseph would be able to hear his mothers voice, a bit staticy, but it was her. Nearly 19 years old, and already having more talent then most others.

Joseph didn't know what as going on in Yugos head, but he certainly would have been unhappy if he had known. There was no pity in his heart for a woman who from beginning to end showed only care for what she wanted and felt. A charmer and beauty that had many men at her beck and call, despite being married herself. “One song is fine, I just-” The touch and kiss had been unexpected, but Cobborn didn't move from the action. With the other gone from the room, he went back to watching the soup. Soon their long and slender fingers moved to turn the head off, quickly grabbing bowls and silverware after. As soon as the soup was served into both bowls it left the pot empty of everything but the filth left over from its use. There was no reason to wonder why she was a selfish mother for him, it was just a fact of the past for the man. It would be nice if he could leave things in the past, but it seemed to keep reaching for him. As Yugo hadn't returned yet, the man started using the sink to wash it. The best time to wash something was right after its use. The longer you wait, the harder it can get to wash. This obviously means it barely took any time at all to wash the pan, now it just needed to dry off. Looking at the two bowls, it really was barely a full meal. This should be the last day that happens.
The idea of Yugo getting sick because they didn't clean up well enough or eat often enough was both nonsensical and a very real possibility. Such a thing was easy to avoid by keeping things clean. If you can't keep things clean, than hire people to do so. ~There's so much dust and this really is barely a complete meal.~ The peachy pale pink eyed person couldn't even taste food the majority of the time, but somehow was better at eating. It had to be common knowledge at this point that keeping things clean was an importance of health. The tall man looked over as soon as Yugo returned. “The soup is finished. Lets move to a good spot to eat and have it there.” The small shell shaped magic item was a curious thing. Hearing it was her first performance, he was sure it was something else. “It was her first performance as the prima donna with the stage name Burning Crimson, but nobody starts as the prima donna. She was probably quite very young, but you don't need to have a grimiore yet to grow into a master of music. She practiced ever since she could first understand singing, because she has always done what she wanted to. I was to be the thing perfect to replace her after she passes, as if my own life didn't belong to myself.” He didn't mean to sound bitter, but it was hard not to.
Yalin had been a woman who thought she was better than everyone, or better than most. Her ego was almost a feat in itself. “I'm not surprised she sounds confident. I believe her first performance as a prima donna was around thirteen or fourteen years old. I'll listen to it after we sit down to eat.” There was no rush, dead people don't run or walk off with their recordings. He did want to hear her, but he wasn't going to treat a magical item recording of her voice from years before he had even been born as something that might vanish if action wasn't taken fast enough. There was a need to hear her voice, but it didn't mean he would treat it as something special. Honestly, it was likely very expensive, something that had belonged to Yugos mother, but the only reason he would never think or destroying it was because it didn't belong to Joseph. He wasn't a child. “Now, lets go try the nettle soup you made. Remember, you need to hire someone to clean things up and you need to buy more food to cook with. Tomorrow.”

[attr="class","polarPOSTIT"] As yugo saw joseph with the bowls, hed smile as he spoke and hed nod, gently helping tot ake his own bowl and guide Joseph toward where they could eat. It was a beautiful location just outside of the kitchen, it was the only place that looked like it got used. He was usually here looking out intot he garden hed grown up in. “Perhaps your right. Like I said, my mother found it when it was already considered old by music standards and ill be honest ive never had a good ear for telling voices apart at different ages.” he smiled softly. “But I do know that this soup smells delicious.” once they got to the table, hed set his down and quickly pull josephs chair out so that he could sit, there were two chairs, and the table was high enough a wheel chair would have fit perfectly where the third seat would go. Hed looked shocked as joseph spoke of her age. “thirteen or fourteen and already a prima donna?” he said and it was clear he was impressed, but he also cleared his throat. [break][break] “Forgive me, I know she is a sore subject. Buti am glad I am getting to share this experience and this meal with you, even if it is little more then just something to hold out bellies till I get proper food and staff back in the house.” hed smile pushing the seat in once joseph had sat and hed make his way to his chair and sit before hed smile and taste the food. His eyes opened wide and hed laugh a bit. “This is amazing! How did you make this taste so good with such few ingrediants?” hed take another bite and hed smile softly. “This soup… it’s the first food in a long while ive been able to enjoy. Everything tasted so bland since my parents left, but ever since I met you joseph… thank you. For bringing me back from my depression if only for a little while. You’ve given me a hope and stength I didn’t realize I still had back to me.”

It was nice to sit at a table with Yugo and to finally have a meal. The flavor was lost on the young man, but the warmth and texture was pleasing. It was normal for flavor to not come forth, which was a reason why Joseph typically only cared about the nutrients in a meal. He was a few spoonfuls into the meal before placing the spoon down. Considering how easy it was to tell this spot of the house was used, it was even more obvious that everything needed to be thoroughly cleaned. “Magic devices are expensive to a normal person, ones with sound are more so due to the sound magic required to craft it. It is also considered a luxury item. Countless were made to my mothers music because of how intense her fans became. That is to say, your mother was lucky to find it being sold if it was old by that point, rather than horded in someones collection already.” He was not deluded enough to think that such items were a simple thing to come by. It was either found by luck, or the person in question had been very good at finding items. It mattered very little to him, since both people were dead. Their peachy pink pale eyes looked towards the garden outside. It hadn't sunk in just how late it had gotten until spotting the intense colors of the sunset in its later form draped outside.
“My mother picked the stage name Burning Crimson because she saw herself as a beautiful sunset, to burn bright and beautiful for a short time before the darkness takes her. She took that identity when she became a prima donna. I'm pretty sure she married my father specifically for his masterful skill at composing music, which she used. She had me to be the sunrise after her sunset ended. I think she saw everyone existing for her pleasures.” He wasn't going to say it nicely, or pretend she seemed like a good person. It had been a long day and his mind was feeling heavy with exhaustion. After that he had more of his serving of the soup. It was good for the digestion to not eat too fast, so there was no need to rush things. Everything was enjoyable at the moment that didn't revolve around her. Sometimes however an infection needed to be soaked in warm water, lanced, and cleaned out than bandaged back up. Hearing her voice would be easing the mind, to put something behind the full grown woman. “Anything can be flavorful when cooked properly, it doesn't require a lot of ingredients. Fresh herbs and vegetables do help. You will be able to make something better than this when I'm done teaching you the basics.” Cobborn fully intended to get Yugo to be a confident cook.
Part of being an adult was learning how to cook for yourself. Even a noble needs to do so if they are away and on the job as a magic knight. He wouldn't just blindly take a full compliment without taking advantage of it. He knew his cooking was good so long as it didn't veer that far off from, a recipe. “Yugo if you didn't have hope yet, then I fully intended to beat it into you. You are going to be amazing. The first steps to do that is to follow the basics of self care. Wash yourself every day, hire someone or someones to clean this place, eat meals regularly and every day. Learning to cook inures you can eat no matter where your job takes you. You have the strength and will, you just need more experience.” He had been depressed before. Maybe the young man was looking at it wrong, but to him this was the best way to show their faith in the other. It wasn't words of maybes or hope or faith, but something as solid as the bowls and spoons being used. Talking of food, Joseph had finished the rest of his own serving up. As soon as the other finished, it would be time to hear her. No more excuses.

[attr="class","polarPOSTIT"] Yugo listened as he explained the rarity of such an item and he nodded. “I have several, but those were procured by my father through business trades and dealings that I was not aware of until much later. These items… they are something I cherish every day and keep safe in a chest no one can normally see but me.” hed smile softly as he saw him look outside and hed also look outside. Hed lsiten as he spoke on his mother and her stage name. He lost his smile softly but didn’t look mad or sad as he addressed her in less then kind tonage. But he could understand why. It was probably how he felt about zaven, maybe. Or how he could end up feeling abut zaven. Hed finish eating as he was speaking about his mother and would let him finish speaking about what was to come next and how Yugo would need to take better care of himself. [break][break] He couldn’t help but blush as he mentioned bathing, did he smell? Had he not been washing well enough? That made his skin itch and his mind race to how he would need to wash even better now, while they hadnt seen yugos bathroom it was the one imaculate place he had in the house, given that when he did visit home he spent much of his free time bathing, and enjoying the warmth and closed nature of a hot steaming bath. It was one of the luxuries he enjoyed most as a child, because in the bath water he could move easier. The tub was more like a minature swimming pool, but even then it was clear to see it was a place Yugo enjoyed being in. Hed nod gnrly at his words. “Yes, your right. Its been too long since I have taken proper care of my home,a dn it is even worse that I have not learned to cook beyond a very basic level. I shall make sure to fix these errors.” hed say making it clear he had every intention to do jsut that. [break][break] Hed look at Joseph and a soft smile would fill his face. “You are… so kind Joseph. Despite everything you have gone through you havnt let the world ruin you. I feared that once, about myself. That I would become bitter and hateful if I couldn’t become strong enough to live up to what I thought my parents would want me to be. But then learning that zaven is my birth father… that he and my mother and father shared such a love, that I was made as a culmination of that love it made me realize I was being to ahrsh on myself. I still have a lot to grow with, and to understand.” hed say softly. “For all her evils too… I think somewhere deep down your mother loved you. Loved you enough to at least be your birth mother, to have given you a chance at life, even if she had plans for it. Because without her I would not have met you, and that would have taken much joy from the world. And all the people you’ve saved too… they would all be dead without you.” hed sigh softly. “I cant speak if she truly cherished you, or if she only had you for convience like you think…but I simply cant imagine a mother who would carry their child for 9 months and not… at least feel something. I hope that gives you a level of comfort,” [break][break] “When your ready…we can listen to the music.”

It was normal to hear that songs sung by 'The Burning Crimson' was cherished by someone. This exact love from so many fans was what made the many items crafted for fans of the music, or of her beauty was so painfully hard to find. If any small object ended up in an item shop as something old and owned by previous people, it would be gone far before anyone who heard of it being there could check to see if such rumors were true. Joseph had never thought about the power that gave his mother over many people and how that might affect ones personality, but the young man didn't like to think of the number of people who lusted after her. Those who would do almost anything to hear her voice were only slightly less creepy. Yugo was a pretty normal fan. “Business trades would make it easier to sample items before it vanishes into a market of people hungry for her music.” The more fanatic fans of hers was a reason why he braided his hair and tried to be very careful about standing out. If the wrong people knew who his mother was, the young man felt it would cause him problems.
How many people would seek him out specifically as the closest thing to his mother left? Yugos next comment was a bit surprising, making it very good that the golden dawn member wasn't downing the soup quite yet. “Someone can be bitter and jaded while holding compassion. I use my past experiences and education to try to help myself understand everything and make the world better. Things wont get better for people throwing a tantrum because the world doesn't feel fair.” He didn't like the concept that a person could be ruined, or rather the man found it a very harmful belief. His peachy pink eyes looked towards his empty bowl, before glancing at the magical item. Without warning, he reached over and activated it. Even at that young age, it was clearly a thoroughly trained voice full of all the confidence in the world. It was a familiar voice though, even if he hadn't known who it belonged to. How many bars or taverns had at least one song of hers on a magical device to play at their facilities?
How often had he heard her voice during holidays? Rather than thinking of how beautiful her voice is.. ~How often did I really hear her voice without knowing it was her?~ For some reason, he filled with negative emotions as the song continued to play. Still, he was grateful. It felt like pressure from a looming old mystery had vanished, releasing everything that had been hidden. There were other mysteries concerning her, but this was a satisfying one to close up. The stiffness and frown was replaced by more softened posture and a bit of a smile. He could move on from it now. “Thank you Yugo. I feel a lot better after knowing how she sounded, though now I feel very exhausted. I think I need to go rest now.” That's what happens after such a day. When you can let go of stressing, all the exhaustion can hit like one layer after the other. It was okay to let go now. Everything that had been emotionally and mentally exhausting was over hours ago, but it now felt like it was.
The calming ride over hadn't knocked his mind out of the anxiety completely, nor the cooking, talking, or photos. Beautiful scenery, words, and emotions. Sometimes it was hard to figure out how to get such an emotion to end after awhile. That was the bad side of having too much experience too early in life. There were many ways one could cope with it. One of these ways was anxiety activating easier and easier over time. This made it easier to stay alert longer, but harder to relax or rest. Anxiety could cause one to end up with a lot of sleeping issues. Thankfully the young man didn't have any sleeping issues, just the tired it could cause after his mind finally fully uncoils. Getting it to unwind could be hard to figure out as well, but at least someone can still sleep while hyper on paranoia.
