It was around noon. Charles had finally arrived at the Royal Capital, a new and unusual place for him. He has never come to the Royal Capital before so this was his first time placing his feet on the place where the higher class of the Clover Kingdom lived. The place was different compared to the Common and Forsaken Region. Everything around him was different, the type of people that roamed around the streets, the buildings around them. This was the place the Wizard King and King called home. He kept looking around the buildings as he walked the streets of the Royal Capital making his way to the Grand Magic Archives, this attitude wasn't usual of Charles, but you could say that's what happens when someone who has lived in the Commoner Region and spent the time as a Magic Knight in the Forsaken Region comes to a place like the Royal Capital.
A moment later Charles snaps out of his own inner thoughts and stops. He was now at the entrance of the Grand Magic Archives. It's very strange for someone like Charles to come all the way to the Royal Capital, no? After all, it was quite a trip to come all the way from the Forsaken Region to the Royal Capital. To his own surprise, Charles had finally found a mission that gathered his interest. He heard that one of Clover Kingdom's most famous archaeologists was looking for a group of researchers and protectors to come with her and assist her in her journey to find a lost temple at the Forsaken Region. This was enough to grab Charles's attention, a search for a lost temple, what kind of strange artifacts could be found in there? How was the location the temple lost? Was it lost through time? That raised him some questions, which increased his interest.
Charles entered the Grand Magic Archives, originally Charles was going to come here with Captain Watanabe, but something came up for him and he was unable to come with him. Instead, he asked the Captain of the Golden Dawn, Zaven Blake to accompany Charles. Captain Watanabe told Charles to make his way to the Royal Capital, Captain Zaven will meet him there. This obviously surprised Charles, doing a mission with the Captain of the Golden Dawn was probably one of the last things he expected to happen in his life so this took him by surprise. It seemed like both of them had some sort of history together and Captain Zaven owed Captain Watanabe a favor. So this was the main reason on why he was coming to assist him.
As he arrives inside the Grand Magic Archives, a huge library filled with hundreds if not thousands of books was in front of him. He looked around trying to find the Captain, which should be easy to distinguish with the type of clothing the Golden Dawn members wear, especially the Captain, he wouldn't be hard to spot. He took a moment to look around for the Captain but was unable to find him. He decided to go ahead and look for the books he has to read in order to be part of the exploration, it made sense for him to read something like, what's the point on going to something you have no idea about? He walked around several sections of the massive library looking with books related to snake temples in ancient jungles. He took several books with those titles and piled them of course, Charles wasn't going to read all of this. He was going to read long enough for him to get an understanding of such a topic, after all, reading a ton of books wasn't the type of thing he will do. Making his way to a nearby table, he placed the books and took a seat, taking one of them and beginning to read as he waited for the arrival of the Captain of the Golden Dawn, the Golden Dawn Headquarters were located at the Royal Capital so it shouldn't take for him to come, he maybe got stuck in business related to his squad.
Charles remained focused on reading the book, the book must be at least a little interesting in order for him to focus on reading it. Some time passed without him realizing it.
[attr="class","zavenreescroll"] “I owe you a fucking favor for what Malcolm…” That was the reaction Zaven had to Malcolm’s request of him. Apparently one of his squad members, a young Junior knight named Charles Constantine was taking on a mission that required a lot of exploration and knowledge...The Black Bull captain sat back in Zaven’s office chair as he looked around, the Golden Dawn captain sure had a nice place to work around in...last time he was here it was to try out one of his new drinks, the bastard had a taste for booze that was for sure. Regardless, Malcolm did not want to take the mission, he had other important matters to attend to so he reached out to his friend Zaven Blake...a captain should be more than enough help for the job anyway. [break][break]
Malcolm tossed Zaven a couple of papers onto his desk, apparently, this was how Zaven would owe him a favor. On the papers there was information on both his mother and father who were missing since before the shattering. Zaven eagerly took the papers and combed through the information with an almost fanatical intent. After a moment Zaven straightened out and just looked at Malcolm and gave a simple nod and held out his hand for a parting handshake. Malcolm stood up and shook Zaven’s hand before flashing a smile to the golden boy. “The kid is a bookworm I think...don’t rough him up too bad or I am sending you a bill.” Malcolm said before leaving the Golden Dawn headquarters. Truth be told, he was on a bit of a personal mission himself. There was a rumor that one of his old mercenary buddies had gotten into some trouble recently and he wanted to sort it out before something bad happened. [break][break]
Zaven left a few minutes later after storing away the papers that Malcolm delivered. “That man...I hate making new friends…” He said with a sigh before grabbing his captain’s mantle and heading to the grand archive where this kid was supposed to be waiting. [break][break]
About an hour later Zaven arrived at the grand archive. He was widely known there and he requested to not be bothered unless it was urgent. The place was massive, with an earthy scent that reminded him of his early years being locked away and learning about the world through books. He thought it was going to take him a long time to find the Black Bull kid, but just as their squad name suggests and the inherent outlook on the squad...he stood out. Zaven made his way over to the table where the kid was reading through a book. He would wait until it looked like Charles was engrossed in the book or dozing off before leaning down and putting his face over the boy’s shoulder. ”So why are we investigating some snake temple books?” Zaven asked as he waited for the surprise to wear off before introducing himself. ”Zaven Blake, the Shadow of Dawn. I assume you must be Mr. Constantine? Malcolm told me you would be here waiting for me. I hope I did not keep you waiting long.” He said with a charming smile before awaiting the introductions from the kid. Once it was done he would take a seat across from the Black Bull. ”What is the mission this time?” He asked bluntly before waiting for an answer.

Charles kept reading one of the books he had found, it was somewhat interesting for him. Compared to the other things he has done so far as a Magic Knight this was probably the most interesting thing he has done. He wasn't the type of person to constantly read books, though the book had some interesting parts, he wasn't going to read all of the books, he had some interest, but it wasn't enough for him to read more than 3 books over the same subject, it was likely he will get bored.
A few minutes later Charles felt something on his shoulder immediately turning to see the face of the Golden Dawn Captain right beside him. "What the.." This surprised him, he wasn't expecting the Captain to show up like that, maybe he got too focused on the book that he didn't even notice his arrival until now. "Yeah, I'm Charles, no need to call me Mr. Constantine. Nice to meet you, Captain Blake, I knew your name already, but it isn't usual for someone like me to meet a Captain that isn't the one from my squad. No, it's fine. I just spent some of this time reading the books here. He scratched his hair and sighed. "Well you know, Ilhiana Vones? Apparently she got the permission of the Wizard King to investigate a temple located in the jungle at the Forsaken Region, she's looking for some researchers and protectors that have knowledge in the topic. I decided to give it a shot and try to take part in the expedition otherwise, Captain Watanabe will probably yell at me again for slacking off. He said he was going to help me out, but apparently, something came up, and now you're here." He said respectfully and didn't mind the presence of the Golden Dawn Captain at all, it just seemed strange since he hasn't interacted or talked to him before. Charles looked at Zaven and raised an eyebrow. "Do you a particular interest in this stuff or did he do something to make you come with me." He asked curiously turning his attention to the book in front of him and turning the page. "I find this interesting, but I'm not reading all of these books. I'll rather do something else aside from that." A small hint of his laziness, but it wasn't much. He's sure anyone else will do the same thing unless they're super into that which wasn't his case. He went back into reading the book afterward he didn't know if the Captain will join him or not, barely knowing him it was hard to predict what he will do next. Considering he was a Captain it was likely he will be able to make in as a protector, he was a Magic Knight Captain, not only that but the Captain of one of the most squads in the Magic Knights.
[attr="class","zavenreescroll"] Listening to the boy speak, it was a moment that Zaven did not have a lot, but he was happy he took the favor. It seemed that the youth in this boy gave him enough of a voice to speak earnestly to answer the captain’s questions and to explain exactly what the situation was. So it was a mission where they would have to go investigating old temples and ruins supposedly. It would be beneficial for the two of them to at least be in the know about what they might be looking for. With a sigh he would pick up one of the old books and begin reading through it, still listening to the kid talk as he mentioned that Zaven would probably be going just because of the security he could provide. [break][break]
“I know of the name, I have reports on their findings around the kingdom...it seems that they go through some dangerous areas quite often, and as for your captain...He means well and this will be beneficial for you as well in the long run. Malcolm tends to be a bit lax when it comes to training so consider this a form of training you up to par so you can be of more service to your magic knight squad.” Zaven would say as he flipped through the pages detailing some findings in the forsaken region, some of the things he had even personally investigated when he was younger. Charles then asked if he really owed the captain a favor, or if he just had an interest in these sorts of things. Zaven was not one to divulge information to people he did not know so he just gave the kid a grin. ”Let’s just say it was a bit of both and leave it at that.” He said as he closed the first book and set it aside before grabbing another and giving it a quick scan before setting it aside. He would do this with about four more books before finally looking at the kid. ”You do know that half of these books are for tourists looking to find fame and fortune right? These books are all rubbish. How about we just go to this person and get the show on the road. The book you are reading now, bring it with us and continue reading. I am sure the answer for what we need is there.” Zaven finally said as he saw the title of the book that Charles was reading, “A history of ancient Clover”,that series was deeply engrossed in history and archeology and Zaven himself had been in that book series once for his findings on an old temple deep inside the wildlands. [break][break]
It only took about ten minutes of walking, making sure the Black Bull did not wander off, but he would answer any question that was asked as they walked...the office of the researcher was located at the top of the archives. Zaven gave a couple of light taps on the office door.

Charles looked at the Captain Zaven as he answered, well he felt somewhat glad that the Captain was willing to answer to his 'stupid' questions. It seemed like the Captain was normal compared to the likes of Captain Watanabe. "My growth? Well, I guess you could say that. If I'm honest one of the reasons I'm doing this mission its because I'll probably get yelled by the Captain for slacking off too much. So I took the mission that took my interest." He stopped a moment and he wasn't wrong, this was to help on his growth, this will allow him to learn something from the mission, probably discover something that has never been discovered before. Especially with a Captain on his side, maybe he could get see a Captain in action from a closer perspective and analyze his combat ability, between other things. That's one of the best things this lazy bastard called Charles was able to do.
"You aren't wrong. It's not every day you get the chance to work beside a Captain anyway." He nodded, he wasn't really expecting the Captain to say everything he has in mind to a guy he just met. Charles went back into reading the book related to the topic of the mission he was about to go. He later turned to the Captain. "Yeah, I know that. I'm just reading it to have some basic knowledge about the topic and not seem like a total idiot. Reading all of this will be a waste of time." Charles smirked at the Captain, finally someone who shared the same thoughts he did. After all, he wasn't planning on reading all of that, basic knowledge was enough. It's a temple that was lost, so it's likely that the people going there don't know one hundred percent what's going to happen, so what was the point on reading thousands of books over that. "I couldn't agree with you more." He stood up from the chair he was sitting at and stretched his arms. "Let's go then." The young magic knight followed the Golden Dawn Captain towards their next destination once done. He was expecting the Golden Dawn Captain to be some sort of bookworm, but he was glad he wasn't.
