Valo Stark
"Don't need a reason to seek strength."
Valo held the child carefully and firmly as he followed his Vice captains path towards the hospital. In his mind he was getting desperate he didn't want to see these innocent children lose their lives not like this. These children he had seen a few times running around without much of a care in the world, but now he could only imagine the fear and pain these kids were in. Valo thought to himself whoever did this, did all this put these children in harms way would pay. There will be no mercy, no holding back he would kill them or die trying to.
As the group made it closer to the hospital it was almost as if Valo wished this Daemon's presence into existence, but that didn't stop his utter shock at seeing the being responsible for all this appear in front of the hospital. It took just about everything in Valo's being to stop himself from charging straight for this Daemon and potentially ending this thing right here and right now. His eyes focused on the Daemon as he spoke, his deep breaths getting heavier and heavier as he tried to contain himself. If it wasn't for the rest of Kikka's lives at stake, he would have done it by now not caring how powerful this Daemon was or claimed to be.
The Daemon spoke of war and the casualties of the innocent and defenseless he acted as if he cared about them, but Valo saw it as nothing but a mock. This cruel creature would mock the lives of children who were on the verge of death. Valo gritted his teeth his nose flaring up, and his brows furrowed his hands shaking from pure adrenaline.
The Daemon continued to state how it and nor anything under its command has harmed anyone in this city so far, he was mocking again this time towards Han and Charles. Valo still enraged by their actions knew what they had done wasn't intentional, it was a mistake a dire one but a mistake nonetheless. He had no sympathy towards them but that didn't mean he was ok with this daemon mocking them either. Valo took a deep breath to calm himself down, form making a drastic mistake.
Valo listened intently as the Daemon spoke of his deal, it focus was clearly on Artemis. It made sense Artemis was the biggest threat here, not only was she really powerful but she probably the best sensor in all of clover. Even with all these tricks this Daemon used, it wouldn't take long for Artemis to figure them out and put an end to them. It was a tough decision to make but he knew his Vice Captain well enough, she was going to make the sacrifice. Artemis could be cold, and very serious but at her core her values were always about what was just and what was right.
Valo watched as Charles took hold of the map Artemis had and took off running after the other child they needed to find, Valo was caught in between he knew it was probably best to follow Charles and now Genesis. But he didn't want to leave his vice captain alone with this Daemon, it didn't sit right with him. But he knew Artemis would tell him to go, there were more pressing matter at hand. The child in his arms was still alive, he held the child tightly before gently placing them on the ground. It was time to make tough decisions, he looked towards Artemis he knew his vice captain would be fine. He quickly looked towards the swordsman who stated he was going to stay. "I trust you to watch over the children, and have my captain's back." Valo said to him before taking off after Charles and Genesis.
His spell still active allowing him to catch up with the other two, he made his decision. The one he thought was the best one, this could be another trap or another illusion, or both. Only time will tell as they headed over to find the child.

The reaction from many of the people were surprising. So many of them reacted extremely to what was going on, and as some of them picked up the severely wounded children to try and take them to a hospital. That would be risky, as they still could not see much at all and were wholly relying on sensory to get around while being put up against illusions. For all they knew there could even be traps laid out for them, and there was no way they would know until they ran into one of them. Soon another would appear, who would reveal themselves as the daemon at the root of all of what was going on here, and offer a deal that required some kind of Sacrifice from Artemis. It would allow them to save the current batch of children, but with an unknown cost.
Elliot would have never taken such a deal. This was a daemon, they couldn't really be trusted with anything they said, promised, or did. It seemed cold, and probably was, but she would not voice her opinion as she simply kept herself ready for anything that might happen. Sword at the ready and golems tri-pointed around her far enough to not be hit by area of effects that might come her way. Would Artemis take the horrid deal? How bad would it be if she did take it? It was about time for her to answer so Elliot guessed she would find out soon enough.

“Daemon…” Artemis whispered as the creature appeared before her and the group. She had been tracking both the child that had been kidnapped, as well as the hospital, using her spell. It had been going well, especially with the pace that they were going, as well as navigating the streets more than half blind. For Artemis, it did not matter, after all, her sensory skills made sure that she knew every nook and cranny of the streets ahead, and the surroundings. There was also her Ki sensing, with it actively perceiving every single life force around the area.[break][break]
Yet, this Daemon eluded that until the last second.[break][break]
Artemis would listen to his spiel, but was not unmoving. She quickly passed her Captain’s Map backwards towards the group, giving them a small signal to follow the small dot which had been the supposed child that had been kidnapped. The Magic Knights within the group would know what to do. Valo and the Black Bulls Magic Knight will need to put aside their differences and work together. A life was at stake, after all, and they are duty-bound to the Clover Kingdom’s safety.[break][break]
A sacrifice.[break][break]
Artemis held the gaze of the Daemon. He was less passionate about bloodshed than Nebuchadnezzar, that was at least something she found herself thankful for. But, this was an action befitting of a Daemon that wanted to play the long game. The destruction, true, was not of the Daemon’s design. All it did was turn day into an eternal night, as well as seemingly ordering the citizens to hide away. [break][break]
“You might not have harmed the citizens directly, but you aided in it.” Artemis leveled with the Daemon. “You do not get to wash your hands of that fact.” An illusion, or was it a transformation? It had caused the citizens of the Clover Kingdom to act accordingly, defending themselves from the terror. Yet, the terror was not what it had seemed to be. While both the swordsman and the Black Bulls Magic Knight had indeed caused damage, they did so under the impression that they were doing their civic duty. Their sins were only their eagerness to help, nothing more. [break][break]
She would pause now. Looking into the eyes of the Daemon, Artemis knew that she needed to make the sacrifice. Who was she to put herself above these children? She was a Magic Knight, the Vice Captain of the Green Mantis Squad. Her duty, above all else, is the protection and preservation of the Clover Kingdom and its citizens. Her self-preservation instincts would be squashed down. It was no question that she would sacrifice herself. But at what cost?[break][break]
“A sacrifice.” She echoed. “You give me a choice when you know there is no other choice for a person of my stature.” Artemis cursed the Daemon internally, shaking her head as she stood her ground. [break][break]
“The safety and recovery of these children, and the continuation of the citizens’ staying safe indoors.” She would start once more, her aura now flaring as she leveled with the Daemon. She was not playing around. “If you uphold that, then we have a bargain.” Artemis needed to make sure that the children were both safe and would recover. She also needed to make sure that the citizens would all stay inside their homes, away from any type of combat situation. To sacrifice herself, the Queen on the chessboard, she needed to make sure that there was some sort of insurance for the rest of the people. She will make do. [break][break]
No matter what happens, Artemis knew she will be strong enough to pull through.[break][break]
After all, even a Pawn can become a Queen with the right circumstance.
Artemis still has Moonsong, The Captain's Map (with the other group, still within range) and War-maiden: Lady Sif. Her base speed is 100m/s. Artemis is currently utilizing her Intimidating Aura perk. She has accepted the bargain with the condition of the safety and recovery of the children, as well as the continuing non-interference of the citizens under the control of the Daemon.
Name of Spell: Moonsong[break] Elemental Type: Water[break] Rank & Spell Type: Grand | Attack Creation & Physical Reinforcement[break] Range & Speed: 150 meters | 85 m/s | 115 m AOE[break] Mana Cost: 50 | 25[break] Stats Effected: +30 m/s, Blinds[break] Applicable Perks: Area of Triumph, Quick Shot, Full Blitz, Apex Predator[break] Description: A manifestation of a stronger mana, the bow is made to be the successor in power and speed of Aphrodite. The bow itself is made with water, though its wings are as sharp as a sword's blade. The bow is used in long ranged combat, the wings of the bow, however, can be used as pseudo blades. A manifestation of Artemis' mana, the string only shows when she makes a "pull-back" motion of drawing and aiming. This makes the bow into a pseudo double-bladed short spear when needed for close quarter combat. The bow itself can shoot more than one arrow, following ammo rules. The arrows can either pierce through enemies, or be used as an AOE attack by letting it burst in a shower of sharp dagger like water droplets, causing Grand level damage. At first hit, opponents are blinded by the water that hits their eyes. The blind effect only happens once per opponent. The bow also increases the speed of the user.[break]
Name of Spell: The Captain's Map[break] Elemental Type: Water[break] Rank & Spell Type: Senior | Sensory[break] Range & Speed: 75m + (Artemis' Sensory x 2)[break] Mana Cost: 30 | 15[break] Stats Effected: -9 Sensory[break] Applicable Perks: Area of Triumph[break] Description: A water made map is created in front of Artemis, which becomes a three dimensional representation of the surrounding keeping in mind the range of the spell. Mana signatures are all located in the three dimensional map, while those hiding their presence using an illusion would follow the Tracking mechanics of Sensory vs Control of the one hiding. While the map itself is a representation of the surroundings, the true nature of the spell are the minuscule droplets of water that appears all around the area of effect. The droplets of water debuffs those caught in the area of effect, lowering their sensory stat, while it bypasses allies through ammo rules.[break][break]
Name of Spell: War-maiden: Lady Sif[break] Elemental Type: Water[break] Rank & Spell Type: Grand | Physical Reinforcement & Transformation[break] Range & Speed: Self | 40 m/s[break] Mana Cost: 50 | 25[break] Stats Effected: +30 m/s[break] Applicable Perks: Full Blitz, Predator's Mutation[break] Description: Calling upon the mythological war-maidens, Artemis conjures water and surrounds her whole body, transforming her into the visage of an mythological warrior. Her whole appearance changes, hair turning into fully blonde, her clothes replaced by warrior-garb made of silk and iron, with the most prominent feature of the transformation being the two feather wings on her back. This transformation allows Artemis flight, and the combination of both Physical Reinforcement to the Transformation allows her to move at a faster speed than normal. Her flight speed is at-rank 40 m/s following Transformation rules. Growing 35 inches in size, Artemis is able to carry at maximum 5 people on her wings and back, though why she would do that, she did not know. The spell allows Artemis to weave in and out of combat, unhindered by ground speed. [break]
Sven remained still, his blood-red eyes keeping contact with Artemis although he was acutely aware of the movements of the others around her. It was clear they hadn't expected to see him there, in fact, he would go so far as they didn't expect to see him so soon and without his guards. He knew full well that, that couldn't happen as they were going around Kikka setting all sorts of delightful traps for their lord's toys and any citizen stupid enough not listen to the orders that were given to them. He could tell by the clenching of jaws, the gritting of teeth and other minor movements that they had made. His eyes soon went to Valo and studied him before he ran off "He comes from this town, interesting..." he said almost as if thinking out loud, he had been listening through the shadows to the people of the town believing that since he had returned that he would be able to bring back the light after vanquishing the darkness forever, well, if that is what they thought they were in for a rude awakening as far as the Daemon was concerned this town was his and it would remain in the darkness until time itself stopped but even then everything would plummet into an eternal darkness, not just a single town that thought alone was a glorious one for him.
He watched from the corner of his eye as the children were laid on the ground one by one from those who had taken them, in the hopes that something would come of this and they would gain aid, of course, this would be granted if his price was met. He couldn't help but turn his attention as he heard a sound coming from the direction of the red-headed woman, it was then he saw what had happened and chuckled lightly "Seems your passenger gets airsick, it doesn't help that when he did that it intensified the pain to the point he blacked out." he said watching as she moved to put the child with the others, while this had happened he took note that the map spell that the green mantis vice-captain had been using to get not only here but track the child that was currently hidden but on a timer for some sort of event that remained a mystery to the group. He smiled as he saw Charles running away with it quickly as he knew time was of the essence, quickly followed by the red-haired woman and finally by the other green mantis while the vice-captain herself had Hans and the ever quiet Elliot remain with her. He couldn't really tell if it was plain stupidity, curiosity or if they really thought they stood a chance none the less he said nothing on the matter as they were ants in comparison to the likes of himself and the one he was making a bargain with and they all knew it.
"It seems like your group has split into two, interesting choice but I can not say I didn't see it coming." he said with a sigh as if he was disappointed in the actions they had taken. It was true that this was a giant game to him but still he wanted some kind of surprise now and then and he smiled as one seemed to be granted. "Ah! Excellent!" he seemed excited all of a sudden as if he was all of a sudden re-energised for his game "I honestly expected you to decline and let these children die over making a deal with the likes of me if only the others of your kind knew... I wonder what they would be thinking." he said grinning like a Cheshire cat "But... back to business, a deal is a deal." he said moving his hand as a shadow bracelet with glowing red runes appeared on Artemis's left wrist "For the rest of our game, your senses will become dull, however, I did promise something you were lacking in return and I will not harm a citizen while they remain inside their homes. Like I said before I have yet to harm anyone in this town unlike your colleagues." with his final word a shadow portal would open and a blonde-haired woman wearing a blue roses magic knight mantle would drop to the floor "I believe this is an adequate exchange." his eyes went back to the hospital "You may come to collect the children and treat them within the hospital, it will remain a safe zone until they are healed as I am a daemon of my word." He said watching as several nurses and doctors came with gurneys and stretchers to collect the children delicately placing them on the stretchers and gurneys before just as quickly returning back inside and locking the doors.
"With that our business is concluded, I hope we see each other again soon, by the way miss vice-captain I know I am to blame for this, I never deemed to try to say otherwise it would be a lie after all and again I am a daemon of honour even if it is a twisted sense of honour to you. I don't mind my hand being wet with blood, it's in my nature, after all, remember that." he said with a smirk, his hand going to his chest as he gained a bow before fading back into the shadows leaving Artemis, Hans and Elliot with the newly acquired Seren.
Story:
The group has decided to separate so they can cover everything that is required of them given they seemed to be on a timer with no time to spare. Three decided to see the forbidden deal through while three tracked the missing child down, both groups completely unaware of what the other group was going through.
Artemis, Hans, Elliot, Seren:
The deal was struck and the children are not only safe but the hospital is now a guaranteed safe zone until they are completely healed, though it would be quicker to heal with magic the hospital themselves are going to use as little as possible in the hopes it can get as many people in as possible and keep themselves safe. Artemis now has a thin black bracelet with red runes on it that can not be removed. This will half Artemis's Sensory by half and knock her ki down by one tier, however, in return, he has delivered another magic knight in the form of the Blue Roses mage Seren who is known for both healing as well as attack if not being a bit flighty when it comes to her sagely wisdom. It is unknown at that moment whether the deal is a blessing or a curse in disguise.
Charles, Valo, Genesis:
After the map was given to Charles the trio have run and flown following the water map, it leads them to the middle of a graveyard where there is a giant black mausoleum closed to the world outside as if is hiding something. From the outside even with your limited sight you can see a strange blue ethereal light coming from within it, inside the light there is a child seemingly in a tranced state holding a small toy within arms "Help me, it hurts... I don't like this game anymore..." the child sobs "I didn't want to win... mommy and da... daddy..." she continues "Don't save me... I'm doomed to this existence but... but..." the child goes quiet as if silenced by an unknown force just continuing to sob from inside what seems to be a prison to them. There is no apparent entrance or exit to this tomb.
OOC:
Every time a question is asked the child will scream out and a black mark will appear on their skin, you get to choose the child gender amongst you.
Artemis's Ki and Sensory will only be decreased within the event and will return back to normal when it comes to its conclusion. This also goes for anyone else's stats/abilities/perks/spells etc that are affected during the event.
At current basic eye sight is reduced by 75% hearing is reduced by 50%

[attr="class","glentext"] Charles made his way towards the direction where said child was located. Thanks to the map given by Artemis it made things much easier even for someone with poor sensory like him. As he was making his way there he heard steps from behind him. The Black Bull looked for a moment just to see Genesis and Valo following behind him. That meant Hans and the other guy remained with the Vice-Captain in order to take care of the children. The silver mage only hoped that whatever deal they were planning to do it went well, the Daemon couldn't be trusted, but if they made a fair deal the least he wishes for is that he kept his word. If those children were saved he will at least feel a little more at ease with himself, but the image of him doing that? That will probably never go away... [break][break] Eventually arriving at the location where the map pointed. The map leads him to a graveyard that was not too far from the hospital. From the outside even with his limited vision and poor sensory. The young magic knight was able to notice a strange blue light coming from the giant dark mausoleum. Charles started to slowly walk towards said mausoleum taking a look at his surroundings with his already little vision he had. There was a possibility it was a trap, so he couldn't just lower his guard. As he got closer the mausoleum the voice of a little girl could be heard. The silver mage looked just to see a little girl in trance holding a toy with her arms while talking to herself. He paid attention closely to what she said as he slowly walked towards her. The silver mage then realized that there was no way in or out. He still remained with his guard up, but the girl didn't seem to be lying. It did felt like a real person or he thinks if the Daemon was strong enough to defeat all of them without any problems then why do all of this. It was obvious he was doing it for his own enjoyment and that could probably explain the reason why he seemed so eager for them to find that girl. [break][break] The girl suddenly goes quiet before she even finished her sentence. Charles couldn't stop being wary of his surroundings, not after what he just experienced. The Black Bull looked back at Genesis and Valo who he assumed were behind him. "That's the child, but I think something is off... Establish a perimeter. I'm pretty sure the Daemon expected us to come here..." He said to the two of them. The Daemon didn't seem like will make things easy for them and since they were separated from the rest of the group it was hard to tell what happened. He recalled the Daemon mentioning he brought a servant with him, but they haven't encountered that servant yet. Chances were that the servant was around the area waiting for an opening to ambush them, kill the child or maybe even push them to do the same thing he had to do after being tricked into attacking a bunch of children? Charles shook his head, overthinking wouldn't lead him anywhere, but remembering those things in the back of his head for future reference could prove useful. Right now he didn't have much of an option. The same thing applied to the others that came with him. "Hey, are you alright?" The black bull crouched to try and meet the eyes of the girl in front of him. He spoke in a laid-back and friendly tone. Things haven't been going well for him lately, trying to at least act like his usual self might make things a little better or so he thought. A few seconds after asking the child a question he expected some sort of reply or reaction, which the child did, but not in the form he expected. The girl screamed as a black mark formed on her skin. [break][break] Charles took a step back from the child, not out of fear, but at this point, he didn't even trust himself to properly deal with this not after what happened. The Black Bull didn't disregard the black marking, though. It looked like a curse, was the child cursed? She seemed to be in pain. He began to recall what the Daemon said. They only had a certain amount of time, this only reassured him that the child was cursed and every second they had counted. "I think this child has been cursed by the Daemon... This means we only have a certain amount of time until she succumbs to the curse and probably dies..." He said the two mages that were with him, but why was the child in this place? Why was she cursed? Did she know something? Surely the child seemed like she saw something the rest of them didn't see, but what it was? The clock was ticking and Charles to put the pieces together if he wanted to achieve something on this psychological war. "This child is cursed and her time is probably limited by the marking on her skin. She probably knows something we don't know about..." The young magic knight looked back at the two mages again. He needed help to crack this down if they figured something out they could maybe even save her from the curse. [break]

Genesis Fantôme
La Poste
As Genesis was running and following the Magic Knight with the map, her mind was busy at work. Tidbits of ideas whirled around in her mind. Fragments of information and possible strategy formations slipped in and out. However, she had not yet settled on a satisfactory layout of plan A. For once, there was not even a plan B or C. She groaned in frustration. Thankfully, there were no walls nearby, otherwise, they would have been broken by her head banging. Be still, Gen. She must not let anger overtake her. She must continue to keep a cool head and quick mind. There must be some loopholes to be discovered, some sort of strategy that can turn this shady situation back to their advantage. But what?
Upon entering the graveyard, the red-haired woman was struck at how eerie the place was. Not because it was a graveyard, but because there was something…different about it. It was almost like the place was tainted. She wrinkled her nose. Even the air smelled wrong. She would not be surprised if the daemon had specially marked this place out for them with his signature illusion or something similar. There must have also been a reason why he allowed them to find the child’s location, despite his hiding the latter’s mana signature. Could it be a trap? Very likely. But there had been no other choice. They will play by his rules—at least for now.
Upon hearing footsteps from behind her, she glanced back to see the Green Mantis. It seemed like he had also decided to come. It was a small thing, but having someone she knew was a relief. Small, but a relief nonetheless. Turning back forward, she could now see an unearthly blue light coming from a particularly large tomb. It was right in the middle of the cemetery, and that light was extremely suspicious, especially when her sight was cut down drastically. It was as if that devil was luring them towards that dark yet lit mausoleum.
The shadow mage hung back, trying to quickly get an idea of their surroundings. Amidst all the crowded crypts and tombstones, this particular one was built at a distance from the others. Strange. Definitely not normal. She wanted to shout and warn the knight with the map, but he was already going towards the tomb. Rushing over, she stopped when she saw it was semi-translucent. Immediately she averted her gaze, turning her back to the structure. It was not because she was afraid to look—she was concerned that she would triggered something if she also drew near it, and thought it best to watch the perimeters instead. Who knew what kind of trap was in there, what kind of trigger they had set off upon their arrival?
“Help me, it hurts... I don't like this game anymore…” A child-like sob.
Genesis frowned. They had found the child, but something was awry. By the sound of the voice, it sounded like a little girl. But at the same time, it did not sound like the child’s own words. Was she under the influence of something? Or someone?
“I didn't want to win... mommy and da... daddy...don't save me... I'm doomed to this existence but... but…”
The words were suddenly cut off, like they were suppressed. But Genesis had heard enough. Hurt. Game. Win. Doomed. She had caught on to those words, and now pondered over them. The little girl was giving them some clues, they just needed to piece them together. Then she heard the Black Bulls knight speak, confirming her suspicions about the child and her strange behavior. He also seemed to be thinking along similar lines, suspecting that the daemon had something in store for them here after they find the child.
“I’ll keep watch.” She volunteered. She recalled that the monster had mentioned something about his servant. Though he had a twisted code of honor, she would guess that his minions were not under the same law. After all, that is what minions are for, to do all the dirty work while their master goes about freely and free from blame.
Genesis extended out her ki sensory around them. At her current rank, she would only be able to track objects within a 20 meter radius, provided that those individuals were moving at 25 m/s or lower. It would also allow her to see through any junior tier illusion or invisibility, within 15 meters of her position, and see through a junior transformation spell if she was 2 meters of the user. It was not much, and her speed and spell usage would be severely handicapped, but it would do for now. Hopefully it would be enough to at least give them a warning before one of the servants appeared. Time was ticking by, and they would have to move quickly and wisely.
“Perhaps we should bring her back to the group,” she suggested, “I’m sure they will have an idea of what to do ne—” She was cut off by a scream. “What happened?” She called back over her shoulder. Her tone was clipped and tense, and so was her entire body. She got her answer, yet something to add to her arsenal against the enemy.
“Cursed. Of course he did.” What else could they have expected from this demon from hell? The knight also mentioned marking...there must have been some physical manifestation of the curse. Genesis scoffed. What a twisted sense of generosity, giving them a palpable reminder of the countdown clock. Heck, she would not be surprised if the little girl has been cursed to be a living time bomb.
Hurt. Game. Win. Doomed. Those were the words the little girl had mentioned before. The young woman bit down on her bottom lip. “The little girl is ‘hurt’...” She muttered to herself, trying to work it out verbally. “The daemon or one of his servants must have tricked her into playing this ‘game,’ but now she is regretting it and doesn’t care about ‘winning,’ because she now realizes that she is ‘doomed’ and doesn’t want her parents to also be involved or share the same fate…”
The answer felt so close, yet so far...

Artemis would listen to the Daemon’s spiel. Truly, all she wanted now was to shoot an arrow through this creature’s throat, ending its miserable existence. Her blood was pumping at a higher than normal rate, and she knew that her adrenaline was going to start kicking in soon. This was the rush of battle, the anticipation of a fight. She immediately squashed it, however. Now was not the time to act. Artemis knew that she needed to be smart about this. After all, a deal was a deal, and this Daemon still had its minion running about, just as he had told them. There were just too many unaccounted variables, and Artemis was not one to jump into a situation where she was blind.[break][break]
And then, the deal was done.[break][break]
A bracelet. And her senses dulled. Artemis made no movements as the Daemon gave her an item that took away a portion of her own naturally sensory. She felt herself going hazy. She felt herself sapped and weak. Yet, she did not show it outwardly. No. She would not give this Daemon the satisfaction of seeing her react to this supposed price for the children’s safety and health. [break][break]
It was then that the other gift was delivered. A portal was opened, and out came a Blue Rose Magic Knight. She did not know this one personally, nor did she trust her. Whatever trick this Daemon was playing, it could be doing it now. It was able to illusion the children to look like mana beasts, after all. How can they be certain that this Blue Rose Magic Knight was not just an illusioned companion of the Daemon. Trusting blindly got people killed, and truly, now that her sensory skills were seemingly dulled, she knew that she could not trust her ability to see through illusions anymore, at least not as much as she used to. A Daemon’s trick. [break][break]
As the Daemon bid its farewell, Artemis spoke up. “Our business is not concluded.” She started, her eyes burning with fury and her body tensed as though ready to pounce. “Because before the day is out, I will be taking your head as the price for subjecting this town to your madness. It will hang as a trophy for all of Clover to see.” Artemis would then watch the Daemon disappear. She had finally seen her opponent, a bastard spawn of corruption. The stakes were now raised, and she knew that in order to protect the town of Kikka, as well as to contain this Daemon, they all needed to act fast. There was no time to spare.[break][break]
With the children being taken in by the doctors and nurses with gurneys and stretchers, Artemis would then turn her attention to the Blue Rose Magic Knight. She looked at the woman up and down, before locking eyes with her. “Your duty as a Magic Knight binds you. I have taken command of Kikka’s defense as Vice Captain of the Green Mantis, and the highest ranking member of the Magic Knights present.” She would then turn to the others that had stayed with her. Brave. Yet, Artemis was unsure if they had a death wish of sorts. To have seen a Daemon. To have felt its presence, corrupt and vile, they must already know just how unmatched they were. “I do not hold you to this. You have the chance now to leave, stay indoors and away from this fight. I will not stop you if you so choose to fight for this town. But I must warn you that the dangers we face are real and true. This is no game.”[break][break]
Wasting little time, she motioned for the Blue Rose Magic Knight to follow her. She would not speak. Her mind was going a mile a minute as she tried to piece together the information that the Daemon had divulged, willingly or not. The thing was treating this as some sort of a game. A puzzle. The intricacies of the plan meant that Artemis needed to play in order to win. The battlefield, as it was right now, was controlled by the Daemon. To be able to wrest control, Artemis knew that they needed to take out some of the key players. One of them would be the supposed servant, an extension of the Daemon itself.[break][break]
Artemis led the way to the graveyard, the place where she had been able to pinpoint the location of the child. She remembered her map’s location, and was able to trace her mana towards her spell. They were not far, after all, and their trek only took a few minutes as Artemis continued to float in her angelic form. While her senses were now dulled, she still used whatever was left to navigate through the streets safely, though their pace was now slower. Without the map doing its work, she needed to be a bit more careful.[break][break]
The bracelet weighed on her, though she kept it out of her mind. This was her burden to bear. A reminder of what she had sacrificed for the future of the Clover Kingdom: its children.[break][break]
It was then that Artemis felt something from the bracelet itself. As they neared what seemed to be a dark mausoleum, Artemis’ own senses found it to be a spell of some sort. Though, for some unknown reason, she was also getting some form of information through the bracelet itself. They got closer, and Artemis realized just what was happening.[break][break]
“Step back! That whole structure is a trap!” She would call out to the group that had been there, around the place. Artemis quickly made her way towards the structure, observing it as she traced the bracelet that was now on her wrist. “This whole structure, if tampered, will most likely set off a chain reaction, one of which might cause destruction that we cannot afford to happen.” Artemis would then peer towards the child that seemed to be inside. The bracelet kept feeding her information, and while she wholly did not trust this item, she knew that it was better than nothing. Especially since it was warning for caution.[break][break]
“The child is not cursed.” Artemis announced, before turning her attention back at the gathered group. “We first need to find a way to disarm this trap.” While she was concerned for the child’s safety, she also knew that the trap might be the killer, instead of what seemed to afflict the young girl.
[break][break] NOTE: Information has been given through DMs.[break][break]
Artemis still has Moonsong, The Captain's Map (with the other group, still within range) and War-maiden: Lady Sif. Her base speed is 100m/s. Artemis is able to sense the trap laid out when she approached the mausoleum.
[break]
“When you spend so long trapped in darkness, you find that the darkness begins to stare back.”
"Yeah." Hans gave the male mantis knight a nod as he went off after the others. The merc did not know that guy nor the woman he claims to be his captain, but he could tell how determined he was to stop all of this, and that he cared for his superior. Not being a magic knight himself, Hans does not fully understand what it means to be one, but he does understand the desire to protect those he cares for, and with that, he could come to respect the brown haired male.
With that, Hans turned his attention back to the blonde woman and the daemon. As the powerful magic knight spoke to the monster, there was this pressure that she started to exert, one that was very hard for the merc to ignore. He could already feel how powerful she is, but the way she spoke to the daemon, her hatred, her disdain towards it, Hans could feel every bit of it spilling out of her mouth, enough for him to feel more intimidated by her than the creature itself. She was definitely not someone to be messed around with...yet she still had to succumb to this deal as other's lives were at stake. If Hans were in her place which after all that has happened he honestly felt like he should've been, the man would've done the same as well.
Hans focused more on the daemon as he started to speak. How excited it got from the woman agreeing annoyed the dark mage. He hated how this monster was getting what he wanted and wished he could just take him down right there on the spot. Suddenly, some sinister looking bracelet appeared on the woman's wrist. Hans eyed it, narrowing his eyes as he wondered what it did, but he didn't have to wait too long as the daemon started talking about it. So he was aiming to weaken her senses then...It made sense, given how strong she is. The daemon could probably tell that this woman had the potential to see past most if not all of its illusions, and it seems like she's the only one out of the group capable of doing so...or she was at least. This was definitely going to be a big hindrance not just on her, but the others as well.
Then, the creature brought up something about giving the others something they were lacking...and with that a portal opened.
In response, Hans took another step back and grit his teeth. He wanted to draw his sword badly, not knowing what will happen, but his hands were currently full with the two children he was holding. Was the daemon only tricking them and about to attack!? No...it instead sent something...or someone to be more exact.
Another woman had came out of the portal, surprisingly bearing a magic knight mantle. Hans gasped lightly as he wasn't expecting this. Did...the daemon really just bring in extra help for the mages? No...this could be another trap, an illusion of sorts, but before Hans could think more of this, doctors and nurses came pouring out of the hospital to gather the children, one of them coming over to gather the ones Hans was holding as well. The merc was taken a bit off guard by this at first, but nodded at them as they grabbed the children, but they didn't respond in return nor did they give Hans any acknowledgement. It was most likely because of the daemon's orders earlier...or perhaps they were aware that the merc was responsible for this? No...they couldn't....
It didn't matter now. The doctors were all back in with the children, hopefully safe.
After the daemon and blonde mage exchanged one more set of words, the creature left, fading into the shadows. Hans balled up his fists, glaring in the direction of where that monster once stood. Hans had never been this furious...and helpless towards anyone since his father. Again, after speaking to the newcomer, the woman brought up how Hans and the ash aren't duty bound like the magic knights and gave them a chance to find somewhere to hide.
Upon acquiring his grimoire, a lot of people have told Hans that this meant he was naturally powerful...lucky just like the extra clover on his book, but the merc was smarter than that. He knew that regardless of the grimoire, true strength wouldn't be achieved unless one properly works for it. But in this instance, the man honestly wished that those rumors were true, that he could just easily wipe that monster from existence. Hans does not owe this kingdom, or any kingdom for that matter anything, but after what this daemon has done, and what it made Hans do...it was about time the merc did something good for once...or at least try.
"I'm aware that I'm not duty bound, but..." the merc drew his sword, a faint dark aura surrounding both him and his weapon, a different kind of darkness from the one engulfing the town."...I want to make up...for what I've done."
With that, Han's cautiously followed the transformed magic knight through the darkness while giving the newcomer a suspicious glance. He still didn't trust this...
Making it to the graveyard, Hans immediately halted in his tracks as the blonde yelled out, warning the others of a trap. She wasn't as loud as she probably should've been due to the daemon screwing with everyone's senses, but it was loud enough to be heard, and for Hans to be on alert. "How do you..." Hans was curious as to how she knew this, but stopped himself. Maybe her sensory wasn't that dampened by that bracelet. But even without sensory, it should be obvious that the daemon would rig this place.
Hans kept on his guard, trying his best to stay alert with a firm grip on his sword.

Artemis, the one currently with angelic wings and blonde hair, would take the deal that the daemon was offering. It was dumb to take, but it was not her place to tell a Magic Knight what to do when she could simply pull rank on a commoner telling her what to do. The daemon would explain that the deal would force a bracelet onto her wrist that basically cursed her senses. How bad was not mentioned, so Elliot would have to ask once the Daemon left them to continue on with everything going on. With the hospital set as a safe zone, for the healing of the children, the people here might look down on those that had hurt them a bit less. Surely they would understand they were dealing with a tricky daemon that was using illusions, right? Or was fear too great of a power right now, and the Daemon simply had full control of them because of it?
On top of all of this the monster would summon another person to help them, as odd of a thing as it seemed, that seemed to be from the Blue Roses Magic Knight Squad. Another person to help, or maybe they were a hindrance for all they knew. Another trick, or trap, for them to fall for by relying on someone they thought was an ally. Of course this could all be a bit too much overthinking, or was it? Elliot would keep her eyes on her until it was made clear that she was, in fact, someone here to truly help them. Artemis would soon turn to the group that had stayed to watch, plus the newly summoned one, and give a small speech. Elliot knew this was bad, that was no news to her, and it was most certainly something that could get any of them killed should they make a mistake. Ever curious, she would still speak her question before they started off. "How bad is the sense loss? I can use my golems to scout ahead if bad enough, or can keep them ready to attack anything that surprises us because of it."
With that said she would simply wait for a response, if one was given, while also following along to the graveyard. She was wary, making sure not to fall behind while also keeping an eye on the Blue Rose Knight, and due to her low sensory and cut senses from the daemon's magic she was startled by the fact that the whole structure in question was a trap. Without Artemis being there she would have likely stepped in without thinking about it. "I'm not learned in traps, and all I have at my disposal is the golems and a defensive usage from my sword. Let me know if they can come in handy, and how, and I'll do my best to be of use." She might not be good on her own, rather she was quite weak and generally of low use here, but she could at least try to lower the threat of death for all of them if someone guided her.

Valo Stark
"Don't need a reason to seek strength."
Valo followed close behind Genesis and Charles, anger surrounded his thoughts heavily. He was slowly coming to terms that his town was now a ruin, innocent lives of children were hurt or probably worse. He had hoped that whatever deal this Daemon made with Artemis he kept his word and allowed the nurses to help the children. It still didn't feel right leaving them like that, every fiber in his being was telling him not to leave. But Valo started to learn it's best not to listen to his pure instinct and rather think things through especially when innocent lives were on the line. If not for that nothing would have stopped him from attacking that Daemon, no matter how powerful he was.
He looked at the two he was running with, Genesis and Charles if it came down to it he trusted them both. Genesis was going to do the right thing even if she was a magic knight or not, he knew that. Charles was a magic knight, he didn't know a lot about him but he knew the Black Bulls knight was just and he was going to aim to correct his mistakes from earlier. Now Valo just hoped they would make it to this child in time, another innocent child put in harms way all for this madness.
Eventually they made it they were in a graveyard, their sight and hearing still cut in half and then some. But despite that a blue light could be seen, from a dark mausoleum like structure. Overall this place and the atmosphere didn't seem to welcoming at all, Valo had his guard up entirely but he wasn't sure for what though. He couldn't tell what was an illusion and what was not, this daemon liked to play tricks and rely on illusions. Who was know or tell what was real and what was not, if they got attacked by more beasts who would know if they were just children being used again. These thoughts weighed heavily on Valo's mind, he took a deep breath in and let it out to calm himself.
A voice of a small little girl could be heard coming from the dark structure, Valo's eyes widened not again he thought. Not again would he bare witness to another child of Kikka being hurt. Valo ignored Charles comment to set a perimeter he didn't care for it, was it wise no but Valo was to swept up in his own emotions. Valo stepped closer the structure he was careful not to touch it, he learned in a dungeon once the negatives of touching something he didn't fully understand. Charles asked the young girl a question first, a simple one in a sweet and honest tone. But his question was only met with a harmful cry of pain and a black mark appearing on the little girls skin. Valo stood back in utter shock, another one in pain both his hands balled up into fists and he blew hot smoke out of his nose his anger getting to him again. "These Games!! Illusions curses! On children!" Valo shouted his eyes still looking at the girl inside, he wanted to help her but he didn't know how.
Charles spoke again now backing up, he had come to the same conclusion but he added that she will most likely die. That did not sit well with the Green Mantis knight. "No one dies, especially a child!! That's why we are here to prevent that from happening!" he shouted at the Black Bulls knight. This was some sort of puzzle or riddle they had to figure out, Genesis started to put some of the young girls words together trying to make something out of it. "She doesn't want to 'win' anymore...and her parents..." Valo's words were interrupted with the arrival of his Vice Captain, and the others from earlier joining them again. It seemed like everything went well for the most part, they all looked unharmed at least on the surface.
Valo noticed the new bracelet Artemis had on her wrist as she traced it when she spoke. Valo stepped back from the structure as instructed but the look of confusion was still on his face, she had new information that one wouldn't know with just her sensory skills. She spoke and said the child is not cursed but the structure itself was the trap and a dire one at that. "I'm glad you are safe, all of you." Valo said looking at the returning group. But he looked back towards Artemis, and most of his gaze went towards her bracelet. He wanted to ask how his Vice Captain knew this, but he trusted her and wanted to believe her so he asked a different one. "What do you have in mind?"

"Nihaha~<3 ~ Oh hay guys~! ~Funny running into people here~ I thought it was all demons or something~? Very odd~ Niho~ Like I can't see much of anything~ that IS very odd isn't it~ ooorrr do I need witch glasses~ niho?"
A witch was thrown and skidded on her rump (Ow!) and seemed to comically bounce twice to the other party's side. Were this a video game, a little theme tune would play along with the message SEREN HAS JOINED appearing overhead across the sky.
"Nihaha~ soooo funny story~ apparently there is a demon named Seren-A, which to the very clever among you might be making you ask if -I- am in fact Seren-B~ but nih-no~! I am 100% just Seren~! Of The Witches Forest~! A great sage and honest to goodness witch of fine standing~! AND~~~~~! Not a demon one bit~!!! Niho~!!! That detail is very very important~!!!!!!"
The witch prattled as if giving a lesson in some grand lecture hall.
"Nihaha~ Sooo~ there I was having a witch nap when I apparently got a message that sounded something like ummm~~~"
Seren deepened her voice into her best impression of a dark overlord...
"SEREN(A) ----The 'A' is important guys~! Niho~!---- LET US DISCUSS THE PLAN~ or something~~~ I was half asleep so I'm not really sure niho~! But anyway~ still groggy~ I went to investigate and after a bit of flying I found this demoney guy~ and needless to say~ we were both very very surprised~ or at least~ I think we were niho~ The magic of true names is very very tricky~! Niho~! So even a demon might make mistakes~~~"
Seren sighed as she held up her hands in a grandiose shrug.
"Nihaha~ so he likes toys or something so I explained that I was a limited edition witch sage and recent scion of dragons~ and that's why I think he thought I was worth half of your sensory~!"
Seren winked while holding up a V with her fingers and giving Artemis a “tee hee~<3”
“Though a sage’s insight and seeing through illusions are not quite the same thing~ Niho~ so you were PROBABLY totally robbed~~~ EVEN SO~ I am very very happy to be rescued~! Niho~ so thank you~!”
Seren nodded with her hands on her hips.
“Now~ First order of business did any of you lose a bird~ niho~?”
Reaching into her hat Seren produced a bird that someone not present may or may not have recognized, no worse for wear.
“Nihaha~ guess not~! Back you go birdy friend~ Noooow then~ fill me in guys~ what’s making it so dark~? Is it Augustus~? Is he playing tricks~ He usually doesn't play tricks though~? Niho~?”
Seren cupped her hand as she shouted.
“AUGUSTUSSS COME OUT~ YOU ARE MAKING IT VERY VERY HARD TO SEE AND WE HAVE A LOT OF WORK TO DO NIHO~!”
She then tipped over a box and peeked under it.
“Not here niho~”
She nodded crossing her arms as if she were deep in thought.
“It isn’t Augustus is it… niho~”
She asked the party. It probably wasn’t.
...It was around then that Artemis addressed her.
“Niha… haaaaaaaah… (the witch sighs)~ I figured it would be something like that~ what a pain~ niho~ but it is what it is~ Being a Vice Captain sure sounds rough~ but worry not~! Seren of The Blue Roses and Great Sage of The Witches Forest who has never once felt bound by duty is at your general service~! Because after all~ helping others is the right thing to do~! Lead the way niho~!”
Following behind her, or eating her dust depending on just how fast Artemis was moving, Seren continued to find her bearings.
“Hmmmm~ you said that this was not a game back there right Vice Captain Ar-Ar~? ~Because I am wise I know that people who say things like that are typically people who don’t like the game they are playing~ niho~ Are you sure that this isn’t just a game you do not like very much~? This could actually be a very very serious game~ niho~ like how an unfunny joke is still a joke even if no one likes it and goes on to say ‘that is not a joke’ or ‘that wasn’t funny’ ~niho~ It’s all a question of mindset and compatibility with one’s opponent~ niho~”
Arriving, Seren let her eyes run across the whole of the ominous looking building. The witch's eyebrow raised when Artemis seemed to get all the answers from the weird bracelet she was wearing.
“Nihaha~ case in point this is probably a very very not funny joke~ at least~ to us~”
Seren squinted at the structure as she sat side-saddle on one of her brooms with an already tired look. Never the less, Seren kept calm as she glanced over at Artemis. The witch knew she was apparently supposed to be her prize after all, so Seren figured she should at least try to stay near her, as much as it was possible anyway, between their two respective movement speeds and Artemis' considerable angry mama bear energy.
“Uhmmm~ sooo~ Ar-Ar~ when you say chain reaction do you mean the structure will collapse or explode niho~ if your pretty bracelet that I am very jealous of has that kind of detail in it~ then that would be very very useful for us to know right now ~niho~”

Combat Summery:
1) Cast Apropos: Broom, “Hollow Furnace” creating a total of 3 broom golems. Seren is riding one of them.
As she surveyed the area, Artemis found herself contemplating on their new situation. She glanced at the small group that had grown by one member recently. A witch from the Blue Roses. She had met the Vice Captain, a rather comical person, during the Magic Knights Exam. This woman reminded her of Flora, at least in her verbal mannerisms. [break][break]
It was then that she found herself tracing the bracelet on her wrist. She had been trying to ignore its existence, a reminder of her pact with the Daemon. Yet, it seemed to be helping her, while at the same time hindering her own sensory skills. She had tried to expand her mana around the general area once more, and one more afterwards, trying to see the limits where she had been restricted.[break][break]
“Half…” She whispered to herself. The range of her sensory skills had been cut in half. This had been almost the same range that she had before climbing the ranks of the Magic Knights. She felt debilitated, and constrained. Yet, she did not show any of the anger and ire that she was harbouring. No. Now was not the time to show anything but strength. That was what this Daemon wanted, after all, for all of them to crumble piece by piece. Artemis would not allow that, starting with herself. She knew the duties of a Magic Knights, and she would renege on them. Especially now. This Daemon had not only threatened the people of Kikka, citizens of the Clover Kingdom, but it had also made an enemy out of her. It has become much more personal now.[break][break]
“Quiet.” Artemis ordered. The chattering between some of the group would distract her, as she tried to use whatever is left of her sensory to uncover this trap that the bracelet had warned her about. It was here. She knew it was here. The mana surrounding the whole structure made it quite blatant that this was a spell. Either the caster was very close, or it was being fed mana from somewhere. Trap magic of Daemons might be different from a regular trap magic, yet she knew that the mana needed a source no matter what, and the trap would be activated through a specific means. Either it was through touch, or through breaking through the structure, she did not know. However, all of those were feasible, and therefore caution was needed. They cannot err. [break][break]
“What is this…” She held out her hand, hovering over the mausoleum that was made with some sort of dark element. From what she could see, it was made of “Shadow element.” The blocks of the mausoleum were moving as well, though she was not sure why. From what she could observe, however, they free floated, though created a very sturdy structure nonetheless. It was an interesting piece of magic, and she would have been glad to study it if not for the fact that there was a child that needed their help.[break][break]
“Wait, there is more.” Artemis traced a finger, still hovering, at what seemed to be lines covering the blocks of shadow. Clarity. The bracelet was once again aiding her, pointing her to the right direction as it gave her the ability to see the structure for it was intended to be. The lines that she traced would now be visible, at least to her. They were deep purple, almost black, and was found all over the mausoleum. The blocks were interconnected with them, like veins that gave life to a being. She followed these lines, and found herself staring at the ground. The lines extended out from the mausoleum itself, running through the immediate grounds of the graveyard itself. Their vision was cut, yet Artemis could only assume that these lines extended past their vision limit. [break][break]
“This structure is riddled with lines, interconnecting, and running through the grounds of this graveyard.” She would turn towards the group, at least those nearby. “We will need to make sure that nothing else is here that is just like this structure. Or at least, secure the perimeter as best as we can.” Artemis would nod, hoping that this would be enough to get the group into motion. They might choose to stay, instead of setting up a proper perimeter.[break][break]
She would then turn to the child, her eyes observing what seemed to be black marks on her skin. “You will be alright, little one.” Artemis assured the child, though right now, she was skeptical of everything around her. This Daemon played tricks on the mind, and she was not one to fall for them easily. [break][break]
Caution, after all, is not cowardly; nor is carelessness bravery.

Artemis still has Moonsong, The Captain's Map (with the other group, still within range) and War-maiden: Lady Sif. Her base speed is 100m/s. Artemis is able to see the structure of the mausoleum, made of the Shadow element blocks, with lines that extend outward onto the grounds of the graveyard.
[break]

Genesis stiffened. With the limited range that her ki was giving her, she had picked up a couple mana signatures. No, more than a couple. She was about to shout out a warning to her two companions, but then it hit her as familiar mana traces. Familiar as in she had been in their presence before.
“The others are here.” She called out, referring to the group that had stayed with the vice captain. Her companions probably had better sensory abilities than she did, even with her ki, so it was likely that the Magic Knights had already been alerted of the group’s arrival. Still, she said she would keep watch and report as needed, and she had done that.
Actually, not all of them were familiar. There was an additional person in the group. Genesis raised an eyebrow. What had happened back at the hospital? They had arrived here not too long after the trio arrived. Were they able to bargain for the children’s treatments that quickly? Perhaps the daemon was not so bad after all...although that did not excuse his devilish and immoral actions. The perfect example was standing right behind her. Up until now, the red-haired woman had not laid eyes on the said person. However, since the rest of the group was here and nothing had been tripped yet, she figured it should be safe enough to at least look.
Genesis turned around...and immediately wished she did not.
An innocent-looking girl stood in the middle of the tomb, abnormally still as if in the trance. The dark mausoleum itself seemed to shift, allowing the outsiders to see the captive trapped inside. It was worst than she thought, and that scene with the girl holding her toy would forever be engraved in her mind.
“Step back! That whole structure is a trap!”
It was the vice captain. Genesis immediately stepped back a few steps, then frowned. Again, the question of what happened back at the hospital resurfaced. What exactly happened? The water mage’s presence felt…different. She did not know what, but it was not the same as the full power she had sensed back there. As she watched the other woman advance towards them, the bracelet caught her eye. She had so many questions, about the daemon at the hospital, about the new addition in the group, about the bracelet, about how she knew it was a trap…but she held her tongue. She would get her answers soon enough.
She heard the Green Mantis knight ask a question, but her eyes were focused on the seemingly-shifting mass before her. It was much like her own shadow element, with no true form besides what its user shapes and commands. It was evasive, yet solid. Semi-transparent, but very real and deadly. What an irony, that the little girl seemed to be trapped in both light and darkness. There must be some deeper meaning here.
The redhead glanced back over at the leader. She was close enough to pick up her words, and nodded. “I can go.” She had already offered to watch the perimeters when Charles asked, and she would not mind continuing to do so. It will also give her an opportunity to get familiar with the area. First rule of thumb: situational awareness. Know your surroundings, be familiar with the playing grounds.
One more glance at the group, and Genesis started to walk away with the intent of securing their positions. Whether someone else would follow her was up to them. She would not go too far, though. The shadow mage was careful to avoid the tombstones and other stone markers that were laid out all over the place. It was more out of respect for the dead rather than caution of tripping a trap or something, though the latter was also possible. She noted the basic layout pattern of the graves, trying to memorize certain spots. It may come in handy, or it may not. No matter, she would do her part in her own strange way.
It was curious, actually, how they have not met up with any of the daemon’s minions so far. However, she would keep an eye out for it. There was no telling what was out there, what unseen predator was there prowling in the dark. She kept her ki active, though it hampered her speed. However, sensing an upcoming enemy would be more beneficial than blindly stepping in the arms of death. So far, nothing had caught her attention as out of the ordinary...
Notes & Stuff
Summary: Sensed Artemis' group with ki, offered to secure perimeters and left group to scout out the area
- Used ki sensory (tier one), -1.5 m/s (currently 3.5 m/s rip lol) - OOC regen, +10 mana
“When you spend so long trapped in darkness, you find that the darkness begins to stare back.”
This newcomer, Seren she calls herself...is really chatty. Hans was still suspicious about this 'prize' but right now her constant babbling was making it hard for him to focus. "...Do you have an off switch?" the merc muttered as he pinched the bridge of his nose and sighed. Being pretty quiet and reversed himself, Hans finds it difficult to be around talkative folks, but there are times where he secretly welcomes it since it's a nice change of pace from his constant brooding and such. Unfortunately, this wasn't one of those days.
"Hm?" The odd witch did bring up a name that Hans was familiar with.
Augustus.
That one mage who works for the Church of Clover, and a man who commands the darkness just like himself. Hans had the pleasure of working with him during a mission, but unfortunately he had never came across him again. As far as the merc knows, there is no one else with that element besides the both of them. It was at that moment Hans didn't feel truly alone, and it would be nice to cross paths with the noble priest again....especially since Hans might need someone to confess his sins to after all of this.
It was nice to see, or at least see to his best of his abilities that the others at the graveyard are alright. Of course there were other matters to attend to, so catching up was currently out of the option. Seems that Seren was able to indirectly answer Hans' earlier question about the blonde's sudden knowledge of this trap. "The bracelet?" he muttered again, looking in the vice captain's direction. His eyes squinted at the device. It was suppose to be hindering the woman...yet it's assisting her as well? The hell is that daemon playing at?
Hans listened to the vice captain carefully before turning to face where she was looking. Some interconnecting trap, one hard to see without good sensory or ki. Hans was close enough to get some traces of it as well now that he was focusing, but not to the same degree as the blonde mage most likely. The merc glared at the structure. One wrong move, and it could potentially lead to dire consequences for everyone here, but most importantly to Hans at least, the child. The man looked at the little girl. She seemed to be very afraid and in pain. An apologetic look riddled the guy's face. He had nothing to do with this one, but still Hans couldn't help but feel guilty.
All Hans could do now was follow the vice captain's instructions as if he were one of her knights.
"I'll come with." Hans claimed as he looked in the shadow mage's direction. If he allowed her to follow, Hans would go with the redhead, making sure he doesn't disturb anything. Other than Charles, the shadow mage was the only other person Hans knew here...despite never learning her name.
Hans would keep a bit of a distance from her, but remain close enough so that they could still see each other. Hans stopped walking and started to scan the area to the best of his abilities, using his sensory as well with his sword and grimoire drawn at the ready.

The child screamed in reaction something the silver mage wasn't expecting. Though it seemed like Valo, the Green Mantis was more emotionally and shocking than him. If he remembered correctly it was previously mentioned this was his hometown so both the reaction of Valo punching him and right now made sense to him. "...I know, but any unnecessary or impulsive movements could result in her being killed..." Charles replied with a nod and acknowledged the fact that they were hear to save her, but he didn't want to end up committing the mistake from earlier, he was hesitant about his decisions. Especially since they were playing the child called a game. Which bothered him even more. [break][break] As kept his distance about the structure trying to think of a way on how to deal with the issue at hand. He couldn't help but worry about the rest and wonder how the deal went. His question will then be answered by the arrival of Vice-Captain Artemis with the rest of the group to the area. She came back faster than he thought if she was ever going to come back in the first place. Daemons couldn't really be trusted, but they were pushed to the edge with not a lot of options. By the looks of the Artemis and the rest of the group that came behind her everything went well. Calling out the group that the structure was most likely a trap and that there was a possibility it could explode. The Black Bull took a few steps back for safety. He believed the structure was some sort of prison while the charge was cursed, but she mentioned that the child wasn't cursed and that black mark was a result of the trap. "...A trap?" Then if it was a trap with the possibility of the structure said to detonate could the cooldown of the detonation be those markings of the child? The Daemon did say that they only had a certain amount of time, but it seemed like the Vice-Captain of the Green Mantis knew what she was talking about somehow. The best course of action was listening to her, she was a higher ranking Magic Knight after all. [break][break] It didn't take long for Charles to notice the other Magic Knight, Seren who was wearing the mantle of the Blue Roses. Unlike him or the rest of the group, she seemed to be quite talkative. She hasn't got to experience what the rest of the had experienced already, mainly Charles and Hans who almost killed some children by accident. If she had witnessed that it was very likely her entire stance and attitude about the entire situation will be different, anyway it's not like he could really blame her. It was nice to get some assistance nonetheless, often having more people could help out with their unique magical abilities to help along the way. [break][break] Artemis began to explain that the entire structure is riddled with lines interconnecting. She seemed to know what exactly was going on. The only thing that came to his mind was that bracelet that Seren previously talked about. He didn't recall seeing her with that bracelet before, so perhaps she got it for the Daemon, but why will he give her something that will help them out, it was likely she had to pay for something of equal value for something like that. Charles did what Artemis ordered and began to look around the area. There was nothing better to do, might as well try to be useful at least just a bit. [break][break]
