Name: Trolls Not Bad
Description: Trolls are interesting mana beasts. They’re larger than humans and generally have a magical affinity related to the earth, but they really aren’t very intelligent. They’re sentient but only speak in short words and sentences not longer than 5 words. SO PLEASE GET MY BROTHER OUT OF THE POT! He was reckless in exploring the cave, I know, but his curiosity got the better of him. Bring him home to me!
-Barrack, Local Chef
Minimum Number of Players: 1
Minimum Word Count: 2000 per person
Location: Common Region
NPC Information:
A pair of Rock Trolls has settled in a small cave of a hill in the common region and captured a curious human who entered their premises. They’re large ugly giant-like mana beasts, but they are intelligent in their own way. They do not attack if not provoked.
If the players try communicating with them, they will try to explain that “Dis human steal.” When referring to the man in the pot. THE POT IS NOT LIT, THE MAN IS STILL ALIVE IN THERE. Then they’ll say “He food.” As they attempt to explain their version of the situation.
Enemies: Rock Trolls
Rock trolls move at 20 m/s and have giant clubs that deal intermediate damage. They can also pick up large rocks and chuck them at their opponents, which deal senior damage. Rock trolls have senior health.

Tap... Tap... Tap... The sound of a pen as the piece of paper in front of the Azure Deer Knight was blank. Whenever an Azure Deer finishes up one of their cases they have to give a report for the squad leadership to read. Naxel has done many of these since he started within the investigation part of his squad. Reports were always a breeze to him, whether it was a case or mission report. The one he was trying to right at this very moment was a case report that he had finished up the day before. Most of that working had him dealing with a guy who would rob elderly people in their homes. What was weird about it was that he always relieved himself within those elderly peoples houses. Each place he went too would always have the same smell to them as he memorized what this smell was. Whenever the Noble, and his group, was able to find him the guy would always go in his hand to throw it at them. How this man wound up being in the Major case files was a complete mystery to the Nobleman. He figures that it happened to be a bad mix up whenever the files were being brought over. That typically happens when stuff comes from the local townships to the Magic Knights. It was always aggravate the young man whenever he received a file from them. Nothing was every right, pages were missing, and handwritings were worse than a toddlers. These people must think that the magic knights were a bunch of people who dealt with petty crap twenty four-seven. One day they will not think that for very long. Anyway, Naxel felt like this process should have a break for now. He would leave this for now, do something else for a bit, and then come back to have some muse to finish it.[break][break]
Whenever that thought had crossed his mind he decided to leave his office for the ground floor. A quick snack sounded like a good idea at the moment. It had been a little while since he had eaten anything. So, he went down to the dining area to get him an early afternoon snack of an apple. Always such a great snack to have at any part of the day. Juicy, firm, and easier to bite into than what most people thought. Afterwards, Naxel had walked down to the Grand Entrance, so he could head into the missions office. The idea of doing a mission had really been his whole goal for coming down to the ground floor in the first place anyway. When he walked inside he happened to see his ole buddy that he still can not ever remember the name of. “What’s up boss man. Got anything interesting for me to get out of reports with?” Saying with a humorous tone before taking a bite of his apple with a smirk on his face. The Missions officer turned his head towards the Noble with a half smile on his face. He would then pick up a file off of his desk to see what he had. “Well, we got a report of some guy making his way into a Trolls cave...” Trying to tell the Noble before being cut off by said person. “I’ll take it. Trolls are... trolls. Shouldn’t be hard to deal with.” The Missions officer rolled his eyes with his half smile on his face as he place the folder on the table. “Fine. But just because you are a Senior Knight now doesn’t mean you can go solo with it. Take a partner with you. Maybe a newer member, so you can actually teach someone something.” Naxel heard this and felt slightly offended by the mans words. “Ugh! I am... always helping people my good sir.” Responding back with an even more of a humorous tone to his voice. He then turned his head over to one of the mission knights that were in the room. “Head to get Junior Knight Joseph for me, please.” Asking the knight before they headed out on his request.[break][break]

There was always a tune to hear and stories being told. Within this wonderful world everyone had a complex story interwoven with others, each one starting and ending at different points. The learn and understand any of it was quite a thing, right? Or maybe the young man was just too easily impressed with what could be found. Joseph wasn't sure what he had been expecting when joining the magic knights, but certainly different. There had been no expectation that it would be fun, nor thoughts of free time even existing. Expectations hadn't shimmered quite as brightly, but he was still young! The terrifying things were for the stronger and more experienced within the ranks. The peachy haired man would charge towards whatever the future held. The paperwork could be a bit boring, but at least there were valid reasons for it. Maybe it would be less boring after enough time and practice? But somehow that seemed like wishful thinking. Nobody seemed all that excited about doing paperwork. Did that mean it would get more dull? That didn't sound all that pleasing, but whatever happens would be worth being able to continue doing this job. It would be wonderful if anyone was aided by his efforts. It sounded like investigators got more paperwork, so maybe that wouldn't be the pink eyed persons fate.
He was one of those who did reconnaissance. Would this play a large role in his life in the long run outside of the amount of paperwork? It sounded that way? But everything was still far too new for assumptions. Was there any important reasons why this path was picked? It sounded nicer to help in a way that didn't involve him getting too much spotlight. No spotlight at all would be preferable. How did his mother do it? She had a deep vermillion orange red hair that shimmered a gold hue and large deep red eyes with thick lashes. The hair from her head had been so long that it supposedly rolled past the feet. The skin was so pale and warm that it tanned easily. After making enough, she would carry a sun umbrella with her to keep the complexion as fair as possible. Had such a person ever existed, or were the words written of her in books mere exaggerations? It had been easy to dismiss such fanciful sounding descriptions, but sometimes something would happen as a reminder that the woman had existed. Her frame had been a delicate one that moved as if stepping through flames. The other day he had heard someone speak of her. It wasn't a conversation Cobborn had been connected to in any way outside of the mention of a certain person. That fan though? Unlikely they knew she had a family, let alone a son.
It lingered on the mind without any permission. The operatic singer that had been as popular as any great diva that dared walk the stage, if not more so. She had been well known enough that it was some of her more wealthy fans that aided in her medical treatment. No doctor could figure out a cure, though a few had tried their hardest. What had she left behind? A husband that went mad and a meek child that held not a single memory of her inside. If one existed, it was locked and entangled with things shoved back into the hidden recesses of their mind. She likely wanted for him what everyone from his fathers side had, to be a pacifist that steeped themselves within the world of music. That would be so suffocating for him though. He couldn't just ignore the world after hearing it, right? Her world had been about music from her heart, right? Maybe these were all big assumptions of her wants, but what else was he to do? Family never spoke of her and the fans she had? Didn't know anything outside of her stage name and work. The day had been a bit of a blur so far. Had he even slept last night?
It must have happened, for the body lacked weariness. His clothes and hair all looked normal, so Joseph had done that as well. What had he done today so far? His mind begun to sharpen a bit more, but by then? He had already walked towards the missions office with a set of papers. It was strange to bring the mind back to awareness in such a scene. He could hear others in the office already, likely individuals that were far more impressive than the quiet peach of a person. What wasn't expected was for someone leaving the office to give him a message. A mission? That was certainly one way to reel his mind from the cloudy murkiness of the mind. Now there was no way to avoid going in now, even with people there. At least it seemed like he probably wouldn't be interrupting anything? There was a brief worry about the state of the paperwork in his arms. Flipping through it a little gave a needed visual insurance. From what he could see, every paper was done properly and ready to turn in. Cobborn couldn't even remember doing the paperwork, most of this day had been an automated blur. At the least, entering the office didn't feel as awkward as it would have before receiving the message.
Should he hand the papers in first, or say hello? Greet before it becomes weird! "Uh, hi." His soft sing song voice spoke out as their feet brought them closer towards the desk. Joseph handed them in before focusing more on Naxel, giving a bit of a smile. "The job sounds a bit strange, but I hope it can be accomplished without any violence. It doesn't sound like there's any bad people involved, probably just some misunderstandings."
The conversations between the Noble and Missions officer were always interesting whenever they had to wait on something. Thankfully it didn’t take as much time as he thought for his requested partner to arrive in the officer. Naxel turned his head over towards the door whenever he heard it open. Joseph began to speak with his soft voice that made the Senior Deer chuckle a little. His partner went on to speak about the mission with what seemed to be like half given information. A confused look appeared on his face before he turned over towards the Missions officer. The man always had his signature look on no matter what the situation was. This made the Senior Deer break out into a bigger laugh right before turning back to Joseph. “Don’t worry my friend. Missions are unpredictable no matter what they intel. Some of them will be peaceful easy missions while some require more forceful way of doing things.” FInishing up his words and then walking over towards Joseph. “But, I will try my best to make sure things don’t get too out of hand.” Winking his eye and sticking his tongue out a little. When he finished up what he had to say to his partner he would look back at the Missions officer one more time. “Alright, we are headed out. Please let the Captain know we are headed out, in case she looks for me.” Looking at the man before receiving a nod in agreement. The man knew how everything worked so well that it was almost as if he never has to say anything. It was a blessing to have such a good relationship with someone who could help you out as much as this guy would. Nonetheless, Naxel placed his hand on Joseph’s shoulder before heading out the door. He would then head up stairs to where the Bases Portal was located. Once he approached the portal it would be set for a location that was near the cave. The Noble would turn his head towards Joseph before entering the portal.[break][break]
When Naxel made it to the other side he looked out to see the beautiful view that the common region had to offer. Trees were everywhere while the grass was swaying as the wind blew. Living in a tree base was an amazing opportunity for anyone to have, but seeing the nature untouched by man was better. This brought a smile to his face just like every other time he has the opportunity to view the beauty of the Kingdom. While he waited for his partner to join him gave the opportunity for him to review the file a little more. From what he can tell was that the cave they are needing to head for is not far from their location. The area that the portal placed them was within a short walking distance from where hey had to go. That was a good starting sign for them. The rest of the file details that the man had entered a cave of trolls. Their brother wants him to be saved, and not dead. Naxel hasn’t really experienced any sort of trolls before, but he has read about them some when growing up. His mother didn’t think it was a have to know kind of information. Yet, she still taught him enough about them for him to know that they aren’t the smartest things in the world. So communicating with them might be a difficult procedure to do. Hopefully it wont come down to any violence to where they would have to be taken down. Naxel hoped this as he awaited his partner to make his way through the portal.[break][break]

"Don't need a reason to seek strength."
Missions can be unpredictable.
This thought was heavy on Valo's mind as he flew through the common region, he was riding on top of his dragon golem Masshiro. Now that he's been on a few crazy adventures, missions and dungeon runs he knew first hand how unpredictable missions can be. Of course one could make plans, strategy and things alike. But Valo was more the type to rely on a instinct. When the unpredictable happens react in kind, don't overreact and don't under react. But react with your best judgement for the best possible outcome.
Valo had his silver staff resting on his shoulder as his golem sped forward to the sighting of trolls, a pair of rock trolls apparently captured a human who misstepped into territory that he shouldn't have. Now it was up to some magic knights to try and free him before it's to late. Upon reading the description of this mission, Valo's initial reaction was to go in non violently. He had experience with this kind of stuff, overstepping on someone's else territory always ended up being bigger than it actually was back home. But most times these kind of things can be talked out and explained for misunderstandings. Considering the situation the same logic could hopefully be applied. Though this would be the first time Valo interacted with large rock trolls, he heard of them and knew they were pretty rare beings now. But he's yet to actually see one up close.
Getting closer to the destination Valo had his dragon golem go lower and lower to the ground, just so he could see what was happening around the area. The trolls were reported to be in some kind of cave, that looked to be a good few meters away. But something odd caught his attention first, he noticed a portal being made and a magic knight from Azure Deer coming out of it. Valo now standing on top of his golem, his long Green Mantis cloak on making it clear what squad he came from. His cloak was long reaching just about below his knees. His pants and boots black in color, a little dirty from constant adventure and missions. Valo didn't rest much especially in these times, he always worked hard but now even harder. He would take his rest when Kikka was free, right now he had to get stronger and stronger.
This Azure Deer knight had light peach orange colored hair, he looked around Valo's age. It was then that Valo remembered he was to meet another person for this mission, he assumed this may be that person.
Still standing on top of his golem, he had peer in closer to the orange hair colored mage. "Name's Valo you here to help with the trolls?" the fire mage asked suddenly his face focused as he looked this new knight up and down making sure he wasn't a threat.

“I'm not sure there is a such thing as predictable, even music already written changes with every play.” Even if it was solo music rather than a group, it was still a person playing it. They would play each note slightly differently, if there weren't any mess ups. Predictable would be nice, but it wouldn't be realistic. Joseph hadn't been given much time to read up on the mission before he left to get where the bases portal was located. Well, first they went to grab their gear he had been given after Raque, but after that it was to the portal. The mission assignment had been a bit rushed, but that didn't mean the young man wanted to rush in unprepared either. Joseph wasn't a master of anything yet, but the equipment at the least gave the option of fighting if it was needed. Where the gate had taken the young man seemed to look nice, though Cobborn was trying his best to not be distracted. It used to be easier to get lost in the sounds, but something about Raque made focusing on tasks much easier, though it had also added fear the young man couldn't recall ever feeling before as well. How that worked was a question for another day, if at all. Of course being ready didn't necessary mean nothing could throw him off guard. Nobody could every be truly prepared for any unexpected turn of events. It is when you feel the most sure that you can that life shakes things up more.
Getting warped to the area and seeing a magic knight there was expected, but it wasn't the person Joseph had been so sure would be there. Their pale pink eyes widened a bit before starting to look around a bit. Naxel wasn't anywhere in sight. Feeling jumbled didn't change that the young man was now on a mission that still had to be done. Time couldn't be wasted on feeling and looking confused, in which he certainly was looking and feeling at a bit of a loss. “Yeah, I was sent with my senior, but I guess the bases gate sent him somewhere else by accident? I'm Joseph, a junior from azure deer.” Their own eyes looked at this very unexpected individual. That mantle, Valo was a green mantis then? Would everything be okay without Blake there? Somehow this reminded him of Raque. The brunette wasn't there when he most expected them to be. Maybe it was the golem that the other was riding on, but the yellow eyed individual didn't even have a remotely similar to the senior azure deer. Naxel had a friendly and calm feel, where this person looked in full action and ready for a fight. Then again, it could just be because it's in the middle of a mission, or at the start of one. You probably shouldn't look friendly when going to save someone from trolls.
But there was a want inside to look for a peaceful solution, if it was possible. “If the person is uninjured, could we try to talk to the trolls first? If possible it would be good if we could complete the mission without anyone getting hurt. It was likely my senior you were told to expect, not me so you don't need to listen to me.” It wasn't as if Cobborn didn't know this was strange or unreasonable. The real help likely would have been his senior azure deer, but that person wasn't here. Was the person they were coming for okay so far? ~Don't panic, focus. Use Reverberation to create a temporary map of the area, that will show where everyone is and likely say if the person is physically alright.~ He signed these words with busy hands as words to himself. The orange haired person expected most people to not understand sign language, so was very used to speaking to themselves in it. ~Reverberation~ The map started to form after the word had been silently signed out, most details being in coal. For those with magic, there were tiny diamonds above the figures that represented the amount of mana that individual had. From that map a quiet musical tune played, each part of it playing its own sound that played part in it.
It was more than a little nerve wrecking to suddenly be in this situation, but Joseph still willing to follow the directions in which the temporary map that floated near him gave. Well, so long as the praying mantis member was fine with that. Actually, using the spell made it even more clear that Valo was stronger than him, as if that hadn't already been assumed as it was.

"Don't need a reason to seek strength."
There were times when Valo could come off a lot more intimidating than he actually wanted to. Usually unaware of his overall demeanor and how someone might see it and react to it. He was used to stating things bluntly, with a chest held high and his eyes looking directly at who he was speaking to. This time it was this magic knight he had not seen before, Valo didn't see many different magic knights. He was used to working with people he was already comfortable with, or alone. So this was a surprise to the fire mage. Valo raised an eyebrow when the knight from Azure Deer answered him.
He was sent here with someone else, who was somehow sent somewhere else via portal space magic. This all sounded new to Valo, a magic squad base had portals for teleportation? He had yet to use one at the three Green Mantis base now did he know if they actually had one to begin with. He was used to traveling via, broom but mostly by golem. "Gates?...I guess those can be rather tricky. I don't use them often." Valo replied, but he really meant he hadn't used them at all but this young man didn't need to know that.
Valo continued to look the young Azure Deer knight up and down, getting a good look at him. He didn't seem threatening on the surface, his aura gave off something more gentle and caring. So his next few words didn't surprise him to much, he wanted to take a non violent approach when dealing with the trolls. Based of the description of the mission it could be done, and there was a chance it didn't need to result to a big fight.
One could say Valo was more...violent than others, not in a bad way, but he did like have a nice fight. Believing most things could be solved with a strong and fast fist. But growing up a leader of a gang in Kikka, there were times when fists didn't solve every problem. Sometimes things just needed to be talked out. So he honestly had no problem taking a non violent approach for this mission. Though in the back of his mind fighting a troll would be pretty awesome.
"Mmmm yeah we can do that. No problem with me." Valo replied then taking a second to pause. He pointed at the orange hair colored knights Azure Deer mantle. "You are a knight right? No reason I shouldn't listen to ya if you got some solid ideas." Valo continued as he watched him start to use his magic. A sensory map like spell, Valo biggest weakness was sensory he was often surprised on how use full it could be.
Valo looked at this map made of carbon matter and studied it for a second before asking him another question. "A map. Solid idea." Valo said hearing the musical tunes coming from the spell. He twirled his staff and it landed on his right shoulder, standing on top of his golem. "Lets go talk to some trolls then." He said gesturing his hand for the Azure Deer knight, his golem was big enough to carry more than one person.

Were they tricky to use? It was so easy to use that Joseph had it figured out on the first try. He had to correct it, even if it make Naxels disappearance more strange. “Actually it's amazingly easy to use, especially for those experienced with tracking. Just keep the image of where you want to go in your head, walk in and you're there. I only needed information from the mission paper files to imagine this area. I just don't know if the gates themselves can mess up every now and then. I'm just hoping my senior didn't loose his mind in Raque and go missing.” Why bring up that city when it was after everything? Why think it's that? Cobborn couldn't forget the look he had on his face while attacking those gutted corpses while trying to get the enemy. They had all been fresh looking with expressions stuck in eternal fear, only stopping once Naxels attacks had struck the fleshy husks that had once been people. The look in the brunettes eyes had been like one whos mind had temporarily gone to another world. Until that point? The other man had seemed like a senior with little flaws, if any. That expression hadn't lasted for long, so much happened after. Nobody else had voiced concern over Naxel, but they were also busy with things more pressing. More civilians would have died if things had paused for the senior back then.
If he didn't say anything now though, then there would be no way for Valo to know why the peachy haired man had even suggested such a thing. He took Valos offer, climbing onto the construct next to the higher ranked green mantis. “Sorry, there was just a few moments where his mind had seemed gone during the attack on Raque. I'll add his disappearance on the report after this mission is finished.” What else could they do? There was a mission to accomplish and stalling to find someone who should know how to use a gate decently by now wasn't part of it. What is done with that information wasn't up to him. ~There's a person whos life is in danger, that's the number one priority.~ This was signed firmly with Josephs hands, making sure to remind himself what the most important task was. The person in danger wasn't a magic knight and could be injured at any moment. Every moment wasted on thinking on other matters was a moment closer to loosing the window for a possible peaceful resolution to this, if it existed. “Sorry for getting distracted.” His map was still fully functioning and on display, moving along with the pink eyed person. “Thank you for listening. I hope the idea pans out.” With that, his concerns for a certain fellow azure deer had been temporarily buried.
The mind was now totally focused on the mission at hand. The young adult had no idea what to say or do when they got there, but he would find out after that happened. The map could say the location and that they were alive and such, but it couldn't tell them if anything is being said or done. There had been too many dead bodies already, he didn't want to add another one if it could be helped. It wasn't something Cobborn was completely against though. Since the beginning he had told himself that this was something he had to do if it came down to it. He joining the magic knights knowing he would one day have to attack and even kill.

"Don't need a reason to seek strength."
Spatial Portals?
The fire mage made a mental note of these portals, he had never used one before. But it seemed this magic knight was used to using them all the time. Was it Green Mantis? Did they lack the funding for such things? Maybe it was there lazy captain that was in charge? Perhaps a bit of everything all together. Nevertheless perhaps some spatial portals could be used at the Green Mantis base.
"Your senior should be fine. If he's a senior rank knight, he can take care of himself." Valo replied to Joseph his words were tough but he meant well. Valo believed in strength and endearment of character, if Joseph's senior was good enough to become a senior rank knight he should be able to handle himself if he got a little lost. "If all he did was get lost, finding his way back should be easy." he added. Valo looked at Joseph as he hopped on his golem, it was clear his mind was still on his lost senior. There was more to this story than just him getting lost though, apparently they both were at Raque during the daemon attack. Valo knew what it was like to have a senior mage that you believed in just go up and missing. Artemis hadn't returned since they got back from Kikka, and it looked like she wasn't coming back anytime soon.
"...Focus on the mission. The civilian comes first." Valo said his outside demeanor was hard and focused, but on the inside he knew how Joseph felt. But emotionally Valo was not in a good place to help him, at least not much right now. But the Green Mantis knight didn't even have to say that, Joseph's task was already on the mission. His map was still active so finding the location was pretty easy, Valo didn't have spells like this. He found them quite interesting, all his spells were only good for a fight but not much outside of that.
Eventually they arrived at the location of the small cave, Valo hopped off his white dragon golem. He twirled his staff and rested it on his shoulder. "If I'm reading your map correctly, the captured man is still alive. So with that being said no violence right?" he said this while walking into the cave catching the eye of the two large rock trolls. Behind them was a large pot with the captured human inside it, he looked scared out of his mind. Much to scared to move.
"Ah! One no...one two human more!" "More human?" "Human steal!" Human Bad!"
"Woah woah guys. We come in peace." Valo said with hands up in the air.
"Peace? Peace!? We break you in peace!" one of them shouted starting to get angry. "Yea we break you in peace!"
"No no no no. We are no threat. No trouble with us."
"No...trouble. No break in peace." the rock troll asked not as hostile but now rubbing the top of his head. "No trouble. No threat."
Valo looked towards Joseph. "So any bright ideas on how to get him out of the pot?"

He knew that Valo was trying to help stave off the concern for Naxel, but it wasn't a fire that would be extinguished so fast. Even if the flames were put out, the cinders remaining from that issue would remain. The embers would remain low in wait for a chance for the fears to catch the fires up all over again. The mission as well as the citizen whoms safety relied on them completing it was top priority. Even after the mission, the best that could be done would be putting the disappearance included the mission report. That would be needed anyway, since it was originally handed to Naxel and Joseph had happened to be tugged along. That's what the newer magic knights like himself were supposed to do, tag along with higher ups to learn or start easier missions on their own that they could handle. If Valo wasn't here, the peach haired young adult wasn't sure what he would be doing. If things go south in talking then he wouldn't be able to defend himself. If the person refuses to come along then Cobborn would be in a potentially violent situation without any experience in hand to hand combat, nor was he someone with restraint spells. “Thank you for giving my plan a try.” Even if Valo wasn't the best speaker himself, the green mantis was still trying.
This azure deer was also going to do his best. Thankfully he had a lot of experience with a limited vocabulary. “He mean good, we good. Did human in pot steal?” Why call the person a man when he wasn't sure if they knew what that was in human terms? “Steal! Human steal, no give! Human bad! We cook!” How many times did that person steal to get the trolls so upset and defensive? “We take human, punish human. No stealing again. We bring food after.” Joseph was hoping that this trade suggestion would work. It seemed things didn't go as planned though. The rock trolls took the man out of the pot, tossing him towards the magic knights. He didn't exactly look injured, but certainly very scared. There was likely a big chance they would try to get away after they got far enough from the trolls. “No food, take bad. No steal!” In the end the creatures still seemed very upset, but just wanted the entire thing over one way or another. He really wasn't expecting them to not even want food handed to them. Maybe they just wanted to be left alone.

Valo Stark
"Don't need a reason to seek strength."
Valo stood by as he watched Joseph go to work, by speaking to the trolls. From what it seemed Joseph was more of a civil speaker than Vao was. This mission took a level of precise talking rather than fighting, getting into a good ol battle was much more of Valo's cup of tea. Though at the moment he had no intention of fighting with the trolls, he could imagine a spar would probably be pretty fun. Trolls were known for their massive frames and exceptional power to back it up, fighting against opponents like that could be quite the challenge.
From what it seemed like Joseph was making quite the difference, he offered to take the idiot human and we punish him. He also offered to return with food for the trolls, Valo placed his hand on his chin and nodded. Not a bad negotiation tactic to try, it would solve the overall problem and leave the trolls happy as well. But the trolls had a different thing in mind, it seemed they just wanted to be done with all this drama. The picked up the young man in the pot and tossed it towards the two magic knights. Claiming they could take him back, and there was no need to come back with food. They just didn't want him back stealing again, which was more than fair.
Valo walked over the young man with a grin on his face, he picked him up rather roughly and gave him a mean look in the face. The poor guy still looked terrified which made sense, since he was just a few minutes away from being eaten alive and Valo's antics were not helping him feel any better. The fire mage then addressed the trolls. "Fair. Fair. Trade. We make sure he never steal again. This we promise." he said slowly and carefully so the trolls do not mix up his words again.
"Fair. Human no steal, we no eat human! You keep promise! We keep promise!" the troll responded back to Valo with a head nod, a nod the fire mage did as well for a mutual understanding. Valo started to push the man out the cave still giving him some intimidating eyes. "You almost got eaten alive there bud, well maybe not eaten alive they were gonna cook you first. So burned alive then eaten, that doesn't sound like fun does it?"
"Nnnn-no-no. No."
"Right so next time don't be stupid and try to steal from trolls, cause next time they will keep you and eat you. And I'll make sure it happens that way." Valo didn't mean it, but it was a scare tactic if the guy already wasn't scared enough as is. "Go take a seat on the dragon, and we'll get going in a few."
If Joseph was exiting the cave behind him, the fire mage would look in his direction and nod with a grin on his face. "Well that was easy, not gonna lie if not for you I probably would have ended up fighting those trolls. But with you being here we definitely took the better approach. Mission is just about completed once we drop this guy off at his brothers, which I can do easily." he said to the Azure Deer Magic Knight.

Most of the mission was over now, wasn't? Watching Valos with the person they had come to save was a bit of a relief. It was amazing watching Valo handle the individual with the right threats. There was a relief that went through the azure deer, like a bit of weight had lifted. That was likely temporary, but it was still a nice feeling. It was easy to walk out of the cave, hands still hovering around the tracking spell. Almost everything was finished here, but it was good to hold just in case it was needed. The walk towards the caves exit had been peaceful, one quiet step after the other. Being quiet didn't matter much in this situation though, did it? Maybe he needed to find a way to get clothes that would blend in better with nature. Being able to dress and blend in different groups of people was one thing he had the skill for, but dressing for hiding in the wilderness was not something he had become masterful at yet. Even that low skill level still trumped their non existent combative abilities. Seeing Valos smile at the caves exit was nice. There were many things to worry about, but at least the mission was successful. Everyone was safe, which was the best outcome. In this case fear would be the perfect medicine to keep the civilian out of trouble. If they had been there too late then there wouldn't have been anyone to safe left, then there wouldn't be a such thing as a peaceful resolution.
Pink eyes watched Valo a bit even after the civilian had went to the golem. He hadn't expected the verbal comment, one that put the peaceful resolution squarely on Joseph. That wasn't entirely true though. It was true that he covered most of the conversation of the trolls, but that was all he did. But still, it would be rude to at least not accept some of the praise. “Thank you. I've always found it important to try to understand others, my efforts towards this is the only reason why I was so good at understanding their basic speak. I have no experience scaring someone into their senses or fighting. Making sure the civilian saved never does that again is just as important as retrieving him in the long run. A repeat offense at this point might put even more people in danger.” Cobborn didn't see any one part more important than the other. How well could they save the person if they couldn't get him to realize they can't do it again after all? “Mind if I tag along until things are fully completed? Otherwise the report on the mission after everything is done wont feel whole.” He knew that most of the work was over, all they needed to do now was have him finish being returned than write reports. Cobborn wanted to do more, but those things were unrelated to the mission. All he could do was hope that the report of Naxel missing after going to through the warp for the mission might lead to something.
