The leylines have been powered since ancient times with the energy of the world so the Prince of Pain, Malacoda has decided to show his face at the Volcano Grand Magic Zone and cause the volcanoes around the area to erupt in one singular great eruption at the sound of his trumpet. He believes that burning the old world away will allow his father an easier time conquering this world for his domain. The leylines in the area light up an eerie blue as the energy of the world begins to be expended at an exponential rate.

[attr="class","zavenreescroll"] “This should be fine right, I don’t know of too many villages in the area that offer a full shower, but a hot spring in the middle of the forsaken region forest...what could possibly go wrong.”. He said to himself as he woke up next to Rosalia, they were on the back of Typhon, Zaven sustained the spell the entire night, and it was like sleeping on a cloud. He remembered everything that happened, it was not like they had any alcohol with them anyway, but he was not going to think about that too much, the previous day of acting and fighting was over, and their goal was in sight, he was tormented when he did sleep by the first daemon they fought...Fezzek was a fucking sick bastard, and what he did to those women was unforgivable...He swore revenge and the last bastard actually expressed genuine fear when it realized that it was going to die...It actually made him smile at the thought of that. The sun peeked through the canopy and would alert Zaven to the fact that they needed to move and even though he was laying next to a beauty...he could not forget that they had a job to do so he would slip away from the Black Bull Vice Captain and he would reach his right arm out towards her, hoping this would be enough to rouse Rosalia from her sleep as he got up and pulled on a shirt and threw his jacket back over his body...he looked like one of those cultivators from the mountains that you read about in stories. There was a piece of paper in his pocket where Hraban was found originally, the slip of paper had an interesting feel to it, and when he used his mana to activate it he found that Elanor must have prepared his weapon for him, the double bladed axe that seemed to be teeming with mana that was considerably different to his. He smiled and strapped the harness and blade to his back...he looked like a real monster hunter with this particular getup. He would look up at Typhon to see if Rosalia had indeed woken up. ”Good morning Rosalia, we have a ride ahead of us once again...we will stop soon once we get past the Forsaken Region forest and try to see if a village will spare some food, but I do have some basic rations left from our last stop.” He said with a soft smile before going back to her on the top of Typhon. When she was ready he would sit down and commence to give Typhon commands to fly towards the Volcano Grand Magic Zone. [break][break]
The flight to the volcano grand magic zone was a long one...especially from where they were at in the forsaken region. Zaven used Typhon for their ride as usual and he was quiet for the most part...he would answer whatever questions asked of him, but he would just think about the task at hand, the last two daemons had to know that they were coming...and the general presence of the daemon aura tainted the region and it made Zaven angry, but the darkness inside of him was starting to well up inside of him and he was wanting to release it, but he could not do so again front of a woman that meant so much to him, he was thinking back to last time that happened anyway. Then the Forgotten Tower that the darkness first took hold of him...this was all becoming a big joke the universe was playing on him and he was not liking it.
A smile played upon the red-head’s lips for most of the evening. Going around the Forsaken Region, murdering small hordes of daemons in the name of Clover and the Wizard King proved to be trouble, but the company of the black-haired male next to her was a solace in the dark lonely nights. If you asked her, Rosalia would definitely tell you that Zaven Blake knew how to entertain. Not only was the man gorgeous, with those azure eyes, perfect smile, short black hair, but he was also kind and sweet. And then there were his clean abs and back muscles and warmth…hot springs were everything an ice-user like Rosalia could want. Well, alongside the sex. Their evening had been enjoyable in any case. There were few people that she got along with better than the Captain of the Golden Dawn. [break][break] She felt the warmth besides her move away and groaned, displeased. She’d decided to go bed only in lingerie, considering how fatigue had taken her the night prior. A gentle touch on her shoulder made her stir. The witch cracked a crimson eye open and sighed unhappily, covering her eyes with her forearm. Fuck. A part of her wanted to sleep in so bad. To pull him back to her, kiss him and tell him to forget about the world for another fifteen minutes. But that responsibility and workaholism scraped at the back of her mind instantly and she sighed. [break][break] “I miss my bed.” She murmured before looking at Zaven and chuckling. She sat up and ran a hand through her long crimson hair. Yesterday’s hot springs were a nice place for both of them to shower, relax and renew. It did good for her physical and mental health. [break][break] “Morning cutie." She’d lean over and kiss him gently on the lips when he came over to her. His talk about food surprised her, because the ex-model already ate yesterday morning. Rosalia’d gone and finished missions before just on two apples, but she knew that this response wouldn’t really make the male smile. “I uh…could go for the rations. I’m not really picky.” The Vice-Captain muttered. Ah…the beauty and her unhealthy eating habits. If anyone actually tracked how much she ate, they’d probably be quite worried. To be fair, since joining the Bulls she has, for the most part, started eating at least one consistent meal daily. “Once we’re actually done with this bullshit I could take you to my favourite restaurant in Kikka. I worked there for two years and the chef and his wife were the ones letting me rent the cabin there.” The beauty giggled, clearly disregarding the possibility of Kikka not being saved. She trusted Artemis and Charles to get through. The restaurant in question, called Le Fromage, the place that got into Aristocracy Magazine through having the best Bluemint Cheesecake ever. The recipe, which Rosalia had personally had several times as she secretly had a sweet tooth, was created with a little bit of Food Magic and had the ability to ease the tension in its tasters. It was amazing at relaxing her, and giving her a good nap in between part-time jobs. [break][break] She waited for the man to take the rations out of somewhere for their quick meal, and glanced about at the surrounding territory they were flying over. The aura of the entire kingdom invoked terror. The witch could imagine all of the children joining their parents in bed out of fear. A sigh left her lips as she finally decided to dress more appropriately, pulling her black leather combat outfit on and stretching gently. [break][break] The witch then reached into her small backpack and pulled out a very particular glove that pulsed in of her hand the moment she touched it. She could tell that some parts of it were made out of bone, and her fingers ran over it gently. A reward she’d gotten from Atlantis. One she’d never used. The top part of a skull with eye sockets was forged on and the beauty found herself throwing it on for today’s fight. Surely it wouldn’t hinder her. [break][break] “I got it from Atlantis, but I’ve never really used it before.” Rosa explained to Zaven, if he showed any curiosity in it. [break][break] “It’s about time too…” She heard a smooth voice quip, causing the beauty to jump and glance around before her eyes drew back down to the claw-like relic. Wha-? The mage opened her lips for a second before moving her hand around, feeling the way the weapon seemed to fit her perfectly. [break][break] “It uh…also may talk?” Her hues stared at it in disbelief, waiting for it to confirm or deny her question, but she didn’t receive a response. It made her ruby eyes narrow at the weapon. What the fuck was this thing? She could feel a set of eyes boring into her, but she couldn’t place where from. It was confusing, and rather intimidating. Rosalia was used to being watched, but when she couldn’t see who was watching her…that was a different story. [break][break]
[attr="class","zavenreescroll"] She missed her bed? Zaven smiled as he knew the feeling, but while they were out and about doing these missions it was a moot point to try and look for a bed in the middle of all this just to rest...however, he would not lie and say that a bed would not feel better than sleeping on a shadow golem because well...sleeping on a golem is not the most comforting thing in the world. When she came up and called him cute before giving him a kiss he just smiled after returning the kiss. Her quick answer to just accepting the rations did not bother me as he made sure to give her a good portion of the rations before taking a bite of his own himself. The next thing she spoke after she was dressed was tof a restaurant in Kikka that she had the pleasure of working at while she was still living there. He of course trusted Artemis as well so he did not think anything of it when she asked him to accompany her when all this bullshit was over, instead he just gave a happy smile and a nod. ”I think that would be a lovely way to put an end to this series of missions myself. Besides Kikka is not that horrible of a place, the Purple Orca’s can be ok if they are not just trying to make an ass out of themselves at a bar.” He said as he remembered their little get together with Lydia in the Royal Capital. ”Still though, that was a fun night if I am going to be honest, even if I had to endure the constant challenges from Lydia...I heard she stays at the Black Bulls base often...is she trying to sneak a peek at out in the shower, or challenging Malcolm all the time?” He laughed before watching her take out a gauntlet...the aura around it made him shudder a little as he was reminded of the darkness that held his family hostage for quite a time while he was growing up. She told him of the origin of the weapon and after a moment she looked to be quite shocked when it came to the glove as she stared at it intently. Her next words caused him to cock an eyebrow, she said the damned thing spoke to her...that was impossible though, in all the time he had worked as a Magic Knight, assassin, or even with the Gaslight Order he had never heard of such a damn thing. Of course when she said that it spoke he looked at it and decided to test the theory. ”So if you can talk, by chance do you know what the two of us did last night?” He tempted the damn thing, because he really was curious, but when things like this happened, it was usually a two way street, not something others could get in with. [break][break]
Regardless of if the damned item answered or not, Zaven would fly through the air as he finished his ration serving and sat next to Rosalia as Hraban landed at the man’s shoulder. Zaven gave the little raven shadow spirit a piece of the rations and watched as the spirit materialized before the pair and just sat there like a little kid eating happily and humming to itself. Eventually Hraban would look over to Rosalia and smile ”I think...y-you’re b-beautiful...can I sit in your lap?” Hraban blatantly asked as Zaven looked at the spirit. ”You...are a little shit you know that Hraban?” He said, that sentence made him sound a lot like Malcolm and Zaven just gave a sigh as he would look out over the horizon, the feeling of the energy from the leylines were growing stronger and he was not confused, he knew exactly where they were and he felt the disturbance in the natural mana that permeated the air. Rosalia...we are about to enter a dangerous circumstance, I don’t know how much you can sense...but this next threat does not feel like anything we have faced yet, I am not asking you to stay behind me like someone I need to protect, but if I tell you to get away from a fight we are in, I need to know you will listen to me, so tell me in earnest if you can obey my request...if you cannot I just need to know as well, I am not pulling you off of this mission either way.” He said as he did not look at her, he was too busy scanning the sky for threats...he did not know if this next daemon would have any flying threats to dispatch...he fucking hated flying creatures...probably more than spiders or snakes...he fucking hated them.
Rosalia smiled brightly when Zaven agreed to come with her to celebrate their (hopefully) successful set of missions. She giggled when the Blake spoke of their recent bar encounter in the capital. It was true that the Purple Orca Knights there…were a bit too cocky for her liking, and had Zaven not been around, she’d probably have not minded the attention. But…he was, and the pair always seemed to have the habit to fall into one another’s bed when they were around each other. It was weird. Best friends. Lovers. Shared trust and common understanding. Plus, the fact that they both found one another hella attractive helped. [break][break] The topic of Lydia popped up and Rosalia fell quiet. The pink-haired Crimson Lion and her… “I don’t know, to be honest. We…got into a little bit of a fight when we were assigned to Atlantis together.” A sigh left her pretty lips as she looked down ate her rations. They were dry meats of some kind that she didn’t question the flavour of. She’d had to survive on much worse the first year after she ran away from her brothers. “Our views on our vows as Knights…I try to find the option where less people end up dead, while she has no issues cutting her losses for the greater good.” Rosa explained as she met the Blake’s gaze carefully. For once, she didn’t sound certain. She had been questioning her perception of her vows since then. “W-what do you think?” Her voice was soft, almost childlike as she looked at one of her best friends nervously. Had she been wrong this whole time? What would Malcolm say? [break][break] The witch took in a deep breath. “I …honestly don’t know what her relationship is with Malcolm. I’m not really sure why she stops by. We’re definitely not friendly right now…” She revealed, using her Captain’s name casually with Zaven without realizing. They were best friends, and she was best friends with both of them…she just found it to be a shame that they never managed to hang out together. Just the three of them sounded like a blast. She took another bite out of the dry food rations and sighed. Lydia was a topic for another time. [break][break] When Zaven tested the claw she’d equipped herself with, there was a brief silence. Before a chuckle ran through her head. “This partner of yours is quite bold, isn’t he?” The question made her cheeks turn pink. She met Zaven’s eyes briefly before glancing back down at the claw. “He’s not my…He’s one of my best friends.” This was voiced from Rosalia as she looked at Zaven. For a second the question of putting a tag on their relationship ran through her head. [break][break] Her ruby eyes roamed over the face of the Shadow of Dawn briefly. [break][break] “Well considering the way that you two gave it your all thrice yesterday...the sounds you made, the way you touched…” [break][break] Her eyes went wide and her cheeks turned pink as the details flooded her mind. This thing knew everything. EVERYTHING! Her head snapped down at the claw before the ice witch bit her bottom lip and looked back at Zaven. [break][break] “It knows…it knows and in great detail.” She exhaled. Her eyes wandered away from him as her pulse was positively jumping. What the fuck was this thing and how long had it been watching her for? Since Atlantis? That would mean… [break][break] Hraban appeared in her line of sight, distracting her from the disturbing realization that ran through her head. It nommed some of the rations that Zaven gave it before turning to look at her and adorably asking her if it could sit in her lap. [break][break] “Why of course!” She responded as she helped moved the spirit into her lap, letting it nestle however it wanted. A laugh left her lips at the Blake’s comment and she leaned back as she grinned wolfishly at him. “Why…if you wanted to sit in my lap, you could’ve just asked Zaven?” The witch winked before leaning back and laughing. The pair were adorable together. [break][break] The topic of conversation soon changed drastically, and the Vice-captain of the Black Bulls let out a heavy sigh. The Shadow of Dawn…she knew what he had meant. He’d see the annoyance on her face. It was plain as day. She pulled her knees close to her chest and looked away from him, not saying anything at first. [break][break] “I can obey it…but if you die because I left I’ll never forgive myself.” She murmured after a short while, not wanting to look at him at all. They were at war, after all. A warm shiver ran down her spine as her ruby hues widened at the sight that was not too far off of her. Were those… [break][break] Volcanoes? [break][break] “Woah…” The inner nerd inside of her couldn’t contain herself. This had to be it! The Volcano Grand Magic Zone! A place she’d never been at before! It was where the Crimson Lions did their infamous training. “It’s so cool!” Her ruby hues scanned the area as the heat hit her. The beauty didn’t mind the warmth however. It served to get her closer to the normal human body temperature and nothing more. [break][break] That’s when she spotted a large spire of black smoke shoot up from one of the larger volcanoes further ahead. “Zaven, look!” She pointed it out. Was there something moving as well?
[attr="class","zavenreescroll"] Hearing that the piece of equipment knew exactly what they did made Zaven chuckle, the Shadow of Dawn did not press further as he knew it was probably unwise to do so. Then she spoke to Hraban concerning what the spirit asked for, before sitting with her and being quiet as Zaven was about to ask about Malcolm and even about Lydia, but in the end he decided to remain quiet as the ruby eyed beauty looked out and noticed the volcanoes her excitement could be felt as Zaven just watched her and Hraban hopped off to look around as well. He remembered the first time he had to come to this place, it was to actually cart around a dragon egg...then the most recent time he went into a dungeon that popped up around here...he honestly wondered if it still existed, but for now there were bigger fish to fry. Her honesty was appreciated when he brought into question the orders that he may indeed have to issue, but he did not say anything further because he understood her conviction and loyalty as his friend. Once they entered the grand mana zone, the air became heavy and he had to use his mana skin to cool himself off as if he was under the shade of a big oak tree. ”Be sure to acclimate to the climate here, our mana skin should keep us cool enough, but the one thing that I find odd about all of this is the fact that there are no mana beasts at all, nothing on the ground, nothing in the sky, even the volcanoes are silent...which is something that is highly suspect here. I assume our daemon target is going to be at Mount Sunderstone. The mana there is flowing in instead of out like what a volcano does when it is constantly erupting like it is here.” He said as he flew over one Volcano, a place known across Clover as a place where blacksmiths come to get dragon stones, a material known for its hardness, and malleability with iron due to a core component...quicklime. The volcano was dormant, and a glance inside did not even show a cap...just darkness as far as the eye could reach...and his eyes were some of the best in the kingdom. [break][break]
”The energy is being siphoned…” He said as he looked forward and began to notice little cracks, fissures in the earth that were not there before...or at one time they were concealed by lava...the issue was not that they were there...lava rivers were common , but as he swept down low he saw that the old lava rivers were bone dry, the energy also felt weak near those fissures, the thermal energy was still high in the area, but the source of that energy was gathering unlike anything that may have seen before. ”Rosalia, we may be working on a time schedule unlike any we have fac…” He was about to finish when he heard it, the sounding of a trumpet, then another, then another...seven times the trumpets sounded...it was like a biblical prophecy coming true. ”We have found our army…” He said as he had Typhon fly up high once more and survey as they reached the summit of Mount Sunderstone. Below them at the base was a being whose visage was like a seraphim, a high ranking angel to a benevolent god, the issue was the twisted body and the trumpets it sounded were like the horns of demonic species that did not inhabit this realm. The creatures that gathered below the great being were twisted beings that looked like they were calling out to their master or vying for its attention...they were covered in lesions and blood pustules that reminded Zaven of a plague stricken place he had once visited. Then the creature pointed at Zaven and Rosalia and no mouths moved but the voice could be heard very clearly inside of their heads. ”THESE HEATHENS FURTHER DESECRATE THE ALTAR OF OUR ONE TRUE LORD AND SAVIOR!!! THIS IS AN AFFRONT TO ALL THAT IS RIGHTEOUS AND HOLY, THEY SEEK TO PUT OUT THE FLAMES OF OUR SAVIOR AND SEEK TO DESTROY ME AS THEY HAVE MY BROTHERS AND SISTER!!! WHOEVER BRINGS THEIR HEADS TO ME WILL REIGN OVER A PRINCIPALITY AT THE THRONE OF ASMODEUS!!!” The commands were given as the Needy hands all began to climb over each other, soon they began to melt into one another’s bodies until eight beings total stood at the base of the mountain and began to hurl giant balls of molten rock at the pair riding on the back of the shadow golem. Malacoda watched as a sinister laugh could be felt, shaking the mountain. [break][break]
Rosalia didn’t mind the sudden hot air, the sudden dryness and heaviness that would make most people sweat. She and Zaven were anything but regular people. Somehow, she found that the friends she kept hanging around with never were. They were spellcasters powerful enough to care for themselves and to depend on no-one but themselves if it came down to survival. She liked this. The beauty wished to be like them someday. Like Zaven, Like Malcolm and Lydia… They were gods amongst humans when it came down to their abilities as wizards. It put a smile on her lips. They were an inspiration to her in that sense, they made the nerd inside of her squeal with excitement when she learned a new spell. And it wasn’t even that she was fangirling. There was just brilliance in the Captains and Vice-Captain…even if she didn’t get along well with the latter. [break][break] The beauty turned back to look at the Blake and gave him a grin when he told her to acclimate to the change in the heat and air pressure. “You shouldn’t worry about my ability to take heat, the most that this does is actually bring my body up to the natural human temperature…probably.” She really did feel surprisingly fine. Well, she wanted to strip and go do this in underpants, but it probably wasn’t the smartest thing…The witch paused as the thought swirled in her head. But why not?
[break][break] “Mount…Sunderstone?” Her voice filled with awe. That sounded like the coolest name ever! She wanted to go there now and explore around. Damn daemons. Zaven’s intellect and ability to feel mana flow made Rosa purse her lips and nod. He was stating things she hadn’t paid attention to…but things that made a lot of sense to notice. “That is indeed…quite curious. " They smaller volcanoes were still billowing out some small amounts of smoke but no lava…The one they flew over was instead a different story. The inside seemed surprisingly dark. “That’s weird…” She expected to see searing hot lava. Like Vulkan’s magic.
[break][break] As the pair flew down, it became obvious that her partner had come here many times before. Or at least enough to clearly point out that something was very very wrong. Then came the sound of some powerful music instrument, like a brass, that made Zaven move Typhon back around to look for the source.
[break][break] Rosalia’s ruby eyes widened. An army of some of the most horrid creatures revealed themselves. Mutated humans, or perhaps daemons? She didn’t want to think of the first, no, her mana instead took over her body as she reached for her grimoire, cooling the air around them to a nice fall breeze with some ease as she shook her head. “And here I just wanted to enjoy the pretty red mountains.” She joked half-heartedly, letting Zaven control Typhon well enough to dodge most of the lava boulders. This looked very dangerous.
[break][break] “Alright, we can do this. We’ve done hot and heavy enough times to know it by heart by now.” She gave Zaven a smile before murmuring a quick “Arboreal Wings.” A pair of long black wings sprang from her back, and she gave the Blake a pair as well, if he so wished to move around.
[break][break] The ice witch then jumped down off of Typhon with no fear, a grin on her lips. Rosalia could be a madwoman sometimes, but this w as what she lived for. This is what she dedicated her life to- her Kingdom and its residents. Her job was to neutralize the threat, even at the cost of her own life. And she would do her best.
[break][break] The brilliant dark wings, like black diamonds in the light of day, did a few flaps as she giggled in the air. The problem was that there were still giant molten boulders chucked around. And enemies that wanted both her and Zaven dead. Typhon too, probably. Poor Typhon.
[break][break] “Sheer Cold,” Rosalia chose her spell, letting her mana spread from around her, once she was way further down than her partner, before releasing the AOE spell, impacting three of the large molten boulders. Her eyes widened when her ice melted away, before her gaze narrowed and she utilized her “Frostbite” spell, summoning two whips. She used them to smack the three boulders impacted earlier by her Sheer Cold spell, accidentally cracking two of them in two…but the magic seemed to have been enough, as gravity gripped them and had them fall on top of two of the ugly Needy daemons under them, knocking them out.
[break][break] “These things are tougher than they look.”

[attr="class","zavenreescroll"] Those words about her body temperature felt flirty and somewhat lighthearted so he decided to fire back with something equally as flirtatious as her that sly smile of his whenever he got this way. ”You know...I think I am going to have to agree with you,” He said before pulling her close, still feeling the cool sensation her body gave off as she did not immediately warm up like he did. ”You are still quite cool indeed, perhaps I can wear you like a backpack to keep my body temperature regulated whileI fight, you could even function like an icy turret, blast all the daemons back like the beautiful badass that you are.” Then he let her go as he made the curious findings of Mt. Sunderstone and all the other issues with the volcanic region. The mana fluctuations were driving him crazy...how deeply ingrained with the magical energy of the world were these leylines imbued with. Their little flyover to see the horde that awaited them though, brought Rosalia a new quip in which she could not help but fire off as she claimed she just wanted to enjoy the pretty red mountains and Zaven even laughed in the face of all the danger below them. ”You know...for a moment I ALMOST believe you...but then again I know that when it comes to magic, you have a cute side of you that just wants to explore.” He says as he grins when she makes another scandalous remark before casting a spell which gave him wings, an icy breath was released from his mouth as he waited and saw Rosalia jumped off the dragon golem and went down to go fight. Zaven’s grimoire flew open as he decided to unleash hell upon his enemy now as the gloves were now off. ”Shadow Golem...TALOS RISE!” [break][break]
He said as he watched the giant golem appear and underneath his feet were the armies of the daemon. Zaven charged forward on the back of Typhon as he was going to attack the big bad fucker himself. Then he could feel that the creatures were fighting back past his Golem, a feeling that made him rethink what the fuck was going on with this entire situation. ”ROSALIA! STAY HIGH DO NOT GET DOWN TO THEIR LEVEL!” He said as the area began to shake violently, apparently this was a precursor to what was lying ahead after the fall of this daemon. Typhon attacked the daemon while Talos bent down and pummeled the ground back as he was on a hunt to exterminate all that was not an ally of the master. Like a scene from Gullivers Travels, Talos had creatures climbing up his body, the little bastards were like ants that did not know when to quit. The shadow golem made no complaints as Typhon smacked into the daemon and flew into the side of the mountain, attempting to crush it. A bellowing trumpet sounded and the side of the mountain exploded and lava shot out all over the face of Typhon...this was something that Zaven was not prepared for as Hraban even looked on with wonder and even a bit of fear as he did not know what the outcome was going to be.
Rosalia liked that smile. She enjoyed getting such reactions out of the Blake. There was always Lust with them. It was near impossible to miss unless they were deliberately hiding it. But Zaven was never a man who did. Add to that they they’re best friends and care for one another strongly…and well… when he pulled her close she couldn’t resist but wrap her arms around him and give him one hell of a deep kiss. A little moan left her lips before she grinned at his suggestion.

“Backpack huh? Not the sexiest thing but It might do.” Rosalia enjoyed the warmth he radiated, and if she could keep him like that, body to hers for hours…boy would she. Her smile was large at his jokes and his choice of words when describing her. “Please, I’m nowhere near as much of a badass as you darling.” She wanted to plant another kiss on him, but they had to get to work. [break][break]
After she engaged in combat and dealt blows to two of the daemons with their own firey balls of doom (heh), Zaven’s voice reached her, one telling her to remain high in the air. It made her question why, but she’d do as he asked. He could probably see something she couldn’t. Like quicksand or something. The ice witch flew down, barely within range of her spells as she smacked two daemons once with her two active whips. She had to be fucking careful. There was no telling how much she could dodge from such a closer position. And furthermore these things looked like they needed more work done on them in order to be felled. Not to mention the big bad boss himself. [break][break]
She watched as a giant mass accumulated close to her and flew away from it as fast as she could while her ally, ironically, dived straight in. [break][break]
“BE CAREFUL!” the Vice-Captain of the Black Bulls. shouted, both to Zaven and his golems, who she always treated like people…because she was silly. The witch barely dodged another molten boulder as she turned around and smacked the daemon that threw it, felling that one. Her ruby eyes danced around, looking for the other she’d scared barely moments ago as she lifted up higher in the air. She could hear something akin to gurgling noises calling her a “fly” or a “pest.” An entertaining but accurate concept. Her method wasn’t exactly guerrilla tactics, but it was as close as it could get. [break][break]
“Be careful or else…I’ll get very angry at you!” The witch added. She wanted him to stay safe. He had a tendency of throwing himself into unfortunate situations and all she could do was try to stop him. But now she had a lot of problems of her own. [break][break]
How many of these assholes remained? Five, and one of them was already damaged. Rosalia inhaled gently and exhaled strongly. She could do this. This was all training. [break][break]
She barely dodged this boulder. [break][break]
Yeah she needed to get rid of these things fast. This was going to end up bad for her if she didn’t. [break][break]
“Winter’s Kiss.” She hissed and exhaled a powerful breath of black ice shards, sweeping it through three of the enemies, knocking the other damaged daemon out. These fucking bastards needed all of her attention. What a pain. Rosalia would rather be with Zaven right now. But…Patience was a virtue, at least so she’d read in the books. [break][break]

Description: A set of two large wings appear on Rosalia’s back, along with the backs of up to 3 other of her allies of her choice. These appendages are made out of beautifully crystalized black ice sheets, that extend outwards but remain connected, almost as if feathers made out of snowflakes. They sparkle beautifully in the sunlight and almost look demonic as sunset hits the horizon and beyond that into the time of Night. [break]
[attr="class","zavenreescroll"] Zaven rode the back of his faithful golem, Talos like a mighty general. As the golem was struck by smaller foes, the Shadow of Dawn looked up to see Typhon continuing its assault against the daemon. The two struck each other, with the shadow dragon biting into one of the daemon’s wings while being simultaneously stabbed with the staff that the fallen angel daemon was wielding. It was a brutal spectacle to watch, but below them on the ground as Talos just continued to rampage he knew the battle would be a quick one. As such he looked back towards Rosalia and watched her dodge a boulder by a slim margin. It made him grit his teeth like mad at the image, but he trusted the Vice Captain of the Black Bulls...he had to, there was no turning away from this battle, his senses were heightened as he lured the daemon towards the volcano for the inevitable final blow that would soon be delivered. He pushed forth his mana as he wanted to make a statement in this fight, he knew that there was at least one more goddamn daemon after this one so he roared out and waited for the mana beasts to emerge and start to fight back against the horde, a provocation from the captain of the Golden Dawn, upsetting the natural order with the daemon, and the surging of mana...the place became a chaotic battleground for any to see. [break][break]
”Rosalia, This fight will soon come to an end, if you can make it to the shoulder of Talos soon, it would be beneficial to escape once the time comes… He said aloud, but the volcano under Typhon began to stir finally, the crust of the earth began to shake, and the Golden Dawn captain was smiling as it could almost been told that Talos himself was smiling as well. This fight would go down in history, but sadly there was nobody there besides the two magic knights to comment on the entire thing. [break][break]
As smoke and light amounts of ash began to fill the air, Zaven held up his mana to ensure Talos and Typhon remained strong. The aerial combat between the dragon golem and the daemon had begun to affect the area as it would unleash soundwaves that caused the volcano to crack and magma to begin leaking along the backside of the great tower of destruction. Typhon smacked the daemon into the ground over and over as they continued...this bloody battle would soon be drawing to a close.
She was running out of mana, and it was going fast…Fights with enemies this string, that could take multiple hits and could vanquish her in one or two were not ideal. Rosalia had to get back home safely though, this was a representation of the Bulls, and perfection was always the most important thing, even in front of Zaven Blake. The man was a perfect Captain and a great man, ever if he didn’t see it. He would mention her in his reports, it was inevitable, so she had to do well. [break][break] Yet these daemons, these hulking monstrosities of molten lava were throwing her off. Fire was really not her thing, it was in fact what made her element weaker. While she was always attracted to heat, it could always burn if she got too close, and burns didn’t look pretty on a model’s perfect face. She had to remain pretty, she had to move forwards and crush her enemies to dust. But she’d gotten so close she could feel the heat seep into her naturally icy body. She was sweating, she was slowed and her mana was running out. She needed to finish this fast. [break][break] Zaven was fighting the big bad daemon off in the end, the least she could do was take care of these remaining daemons while somehow still getting back to Typhon. The black shadow dragon was a constant reminder of the protection she had and of Azisorius and his son. The Storm Dragons were what humbled her, after all, what taught her how to perfect being calm in dangerous situations and to concentrate on what’s important. They were harsh teachers but fair ones as well. [break][break] Maybe once she was done with this, she would go see them again…In the cold comfort of the Storm Jarl’s Mountain tops where the blizzards were constant and lighting was blue. [break][break] A little smile crossed her lips. It wasn’t home, per say, but it was a fond memory. And a memory she wanted to make a reality once more, just like vanquishing the enemies of the Clover Kingdom. She just needed to relax, not let the heat get to her…and…[break][break] “Sheer Cold.” The Beauty hissed under her lips. Her grimoire shone and flipped back a couple of pages as she brought back her favourite AOE damage spell. A coolness spread in the air as she dropped it upon the three damaged enemies and the one that had managed to evade all her attacks until now. She was having a hard time breathing. The AOE spell took down all but the last one and she felt a cold shiver run down her spine. Fuck. Her mana supplies were running out. [break][break] Wincing, the beauty turned towards the gorgeous Blake as she flew up into the air, away from the last enemy. She was swallowing her pride here. [break][break] “Zaven, I need help with the last one!” She shouted. Her pale skin was white, her hair was singed here and there and her breathing was heavy. She was alive and well but fuck, that shit underneath them was getting ready to throw more magma boulders at them and she didn’t have much strength to stop it. [break][break] She would give him an apologetic look as she sat upon Typhon and promptly began creating and melting ice between her lips. Her body was overheated. She loved warmth, heat, fire…but fucking lava was a bit much for a woman whose magic cave from glaciers and blizzards. The witch promptly dispelled all of her spells because she needed to recover. [break][break]
Hopefully her choice of taking a break on the battlefield wouldn't be costly. She trusted Typhon's endurance after all, and Zaven's experience in navigating battle.

Description: A zone of ice-cold energy spreads from the air and ground around Rosalia outwards, covering a 40 meter cubed radius and dealing senior damage to all enemies within her range, knocking them back 8 meters. Allies (including the caster) gain a shield blocking senior rank damage that appears as an invisible shell of icy black mana. This AOE can be maintained for its affected area, repeatedly dealing damage to Rosalia's enemies if they don't move outside of its range.

[attr="class","zavenreescroll"] Seeing Talos and Typhon pushing back the creatures brought a smile to the Shadow of Dawn’s face. As the mana in the area began to swell and expand he could also feel the force of fire being fought against by Rosalia’s own attacks. The daemon finally pushed past Typhon and charged Zaven just as Rosalia had called out for his help. ”As much as I would love to finish this fight myself, it will be a small victory if I continue to put my friend’s life at risk.” He felt his mana flare up before finally pulling his grimoire out and summoning the will to fight he gave the orders mentally to Talos and Typhon...they were to trap the daemon and throw themselves in to the volcano to finish this fight once and for all, meanwhile...Zaven ran down the arm of his giant golem friend before taking a leap from his hand over in Rosalia’s direction. Shadow’s fall...Fissure Blades!” He pulled five small rods from his jacket and selected the trajectories of his targets before throwing the blades with his mana. The blades sailed through the air as they would strike their targets one at a time, and by the time Zaven landed next to her, he threw his arm out before her and his grimoire glowed once again. “RISE! SHIRYU, DEVOUR MY FOES!” He said as the greedy shadow dragon shot out of his grimoire and coiled around his arms before Zaven launched it at the last of their foes. Zaven wasted not a moment as the dragon exploded on the ground with them just outside of its attack radius he watched as the shadow dragon came up and devoured the last of their foes. [break][break]
Finally the one that they had come here to kill was being herded towards the volcano, and with a great final ram, Typhon rushed the daemon, pushing it into Talos who held both creatures against its body. The daemon tried desperately to free itself, but to no avail, Talos then climbed up the mountain with great speed, almost unnaturally so before Zaven turned to Rosalia. ”We are going to need to take cover...NOW!” He warned just as Talos threw itself into the volcano, a great rush of magical energy was released as a magical seal that was draining the leyline of its mana was now free. Mana and natural energy rose up all around them, enough to cause the grand magic zone to shoot anger out upon the land.
The air was hot to breathe in, and all the Black Bull could do to calm herself was close her eyes and take it in deeply. She let a bit of her Ice mana seep into the air and cool it so it could at least relax her better. The ice witch couldn’t remember the last time that she felt as drained as she did now. Perhaps it had been too much for her? Finally she’d taken a bite that was impossible for her to swallow. Thankfully Typhon was comfortable enough. His surface, for a shadow dragon, was scaly but relatively smooth. And not ridiculously hot to the touch. These moments of reprieve were what the beauty needed. Rosalia was angry at herself, angry for her inability to do her job perfectly, take out all of the enemies without taking a hit…she’d gotten tired. Her mana had been a limitation. Damn. Something she would work on when she got back home at the Black Bulls Base. There was always more she could do. Every day. Perhaps she could adopt Malcolm’s program of three hours of training every morning and then five-to-seven hours of paperwork depending on the load. [break][break] Her ruby eyes opened and quickly found the man she fought besides. He was once again using magic she’d never seen from him. Growing stronger… developing.
[break][break] Zaven’s display of Magic always put Rosalia in awe at his sheer abilities. Being so close to him, spending time in his arms, talking with him all the time when at missions…being friends tended to pull her away from the reality of the situation. He was a Captain, one of the strongest men in the whole Kingdom, and she was far underneath. This situation was one of those that always managed to bring those intricate details forwards.
[break][break] Watching the practical god of shadows of Clover in action was mesmerising. His manipulation of Golems was inspiring, and also horrifying. She couldn’t quite believe that she would ever be able to meet such a level of expertise with magic. But the beauty knew it was just hard work. Zaven was a noble, so they naturally had more talent than she did, and he’d gotten an earlier start on practicing magic too…but she would learn too. He’d always been a good friend in aiding her do so. And some part of her believed that Zaven had worked really hard to get to utilize such a high level of magic as well.
[break][break] Someday soon…hopefully…Rosalia would be able to spar with her old friend on equal grounds. Maybe with Malcolm too, and if her relationship with Lydia ever got better…she would be able to practice with her too.
[break][break] He moved over to her and she watched as Talos grappled both of the last two enemies. Everyone seemed to have been exhausted after this battle, and as the shadow Golem tumbled into the dangerous lava with the daemons in its bulky arms. Her eyes widened as she watched the lava suddenly begin bubbling and fumes start expanding into the air with rapid pace. Zaven was right. This place was going to blow and they needed to take cover. Get as far from it as they could. The ducked down behind Typhon, pulling the Blake down with her into her arms.
The Giant Dragon flew fast, fast enough to move them far away from the eruption of the original crater and the cracking of the land underneath the pair. It was a horrifying sight to turn back and watch. Typhon maneuvered around the giant falling magma drops that came from the eruption. And Rosalia screamed a bit when the deafening sound of the explosion echoed through the air. Horrifying. Her least favourite place to visit, ever.
[break][break] Then…there was silence. Hot air, the sound of flapping giant wings and breathing.
[break][break] “You know…I think this might be one of the most terrifying things I’ve ever done…” After Atlantis that was. It had shown her that she had a lot to work on. When the pair were far enough away from the zone, the beauty would let go of Zaven, not realizing how hard she’d been holding onto him. She’d been scared. Of failing. Of making one single mistake that could’ve led to her remains consumed in fire. Good lord. What kind of a Vice Captain was she?
[break][break] “Sorry, I didn’t mean to hold onto you so strongly.” She loosened her arms from around the Blake and gave him a very tired smile. “I think I could use a nap…and a bath…and a hairdresser.” It wasn’t even a joke…she was exhausted. Her hair was singed black in several places and if anyone from the industry saw her in such a dishevelled condition they’d say she looked ghastly. At least she hoped she hadn’t been a total failure in his eyes.
[attr="class","zavenreescroll"] As they retreated the Volcano blew its top, the explosion was so great it honestly blew Zaven’s golem, Typhon several meters away and Zaven had to grab hold tight, almost becoming like one with the shadow mana, rooting himself to the golem and feeling Rosalia hold on to him tightly as he gripped her shoulder while the dragon Golem tumbled. Finally though...the tumbling stopped and everything became normal as Zaven sighed when Rosalia spoke. ”It is fine Rosalia...Let me take you to some of my friends in the capital...the least I can do for you since you came out all this way to help me.” He said as he seemed to forget that there was one such daemon left...and it would escape to fight another day now that its brothers and sister had perished. [break][break]
After thinking about a little more he chuckled as he added it all together. ”I would not dare to make you go somewhere if you did not feel comfortable but it will probably be a night’s ride to the capital, if you wish to rest on Typhon, I will give you my jacket to keep warm, and once we arrive I am sure that my good friend Mario would be more than happy to dress your hair...the man has cut my hair since I was a boy.” Zaven of course was trying to be happy about everything, he had not forgotten about the one daemon left, but they needed to regroup...and the immediate leyline threat was now diminished...
Being held by Zaven was always comforting, even in situations such as volcanic eruptions and massive explosions. There was just something about his warmth and scent that reminded her of late nights spend together, morning showers and breakfast in bed. There was also the fact that he made her hairs stand on end when he fought. He was powerful, intimidating, wild. Sometimes he even lost himself in his own elemental power…but he was controlled now, protecting her. It felt as though the world was spinning for a bit, and the beauty just closed her eyes. [break][break] “You owe me nothing…” The beauty stepped back for a second and looked up at the taller male. He looked just as tired as she was. “I was a disgrace today. I need to get better.” She mumbled as she clenched her jaw. She was displeased with her own performance. The damage she dealt to those molten monstrosities was a joke. When she got back home…Rosalia would have to train. [break][break] “The capital…sounds nice. I could use a bath…and a bed…and a lot of water and tea. And you…I could use more of you.” [break][break]Somehow she found it in herself teasing him. Being with Zaven would calm the beauty for the time being. They tended to find distraction in one another naturally. “Sorry, I’m just…I guess it’s my coping mechanism to make light of every situation.” He was the first person she explained this too. [break][break] When he suggested resting on Typhon overnight and giving her his jacket, a cute pout would come over her lips. How she had the energy to act adorable was beyond her knowledge. “I’m only sleeping on Typhon if you’re resting with me too, you know that right?” Rosalia asked boldly, tapping her foot and crossing her arms over her chest. Her hair was burned on the edges, her face had black smears here and there, and yet somehow she managed to pull of the “burned and tired” look and still be attractive. [break][break] As they got further away from the fields of Lava, a sudden wave of exhaustion creeped up on the beauty as she sat down and pulled out an apple from the small sack she always travelled with. Rosa quickly made a sharp knife out of ice and split it into two, handing one to Zaven before she practically devoured the other piece. It was gone in under thirty seconds, and…the woman also seemed to eat the core as well. The fight had really drained her. [break][break] “Eat it, we need to retain our sugar. Our bodies are probably spent on carbs after that...and while I never carry cake around an apple will suffice for now. I have a few oranges, several pieces of candy and chocolate that need to cool off again after those extreme temperatures.” The beauty admitted, not really realizing that she’d basically told Zaven she’d been fully okay in barely consuming anything over the last week of their time together on missions. Now for one it was because as a model she was used to eating nothing for days at a time (and only Malcolm and Zaven had noticed enough and pushed her to eat more) and for two, even if she did eat for missions, she preferred something small so she didn’t vomit (a habit developed after her first dungeon with Sabrina and Vulkan years ago.) [break][break] “I’d love to have your Mario do my hair. One of my old bosses and current friendly…uh friend is also called Mario. He was the man who made all of my sexy swimsuits for the magazine covers.” The beauty mused, throwing the little wooden bit of the apple off of Typhon. Mmm the upcoming fashion season…she was invited to participate again. [break][break] Her ruby eyes found his azure ones as she gave him a soft smile. “Are you okay?” She asked him gently, patting the spot next to her. A part of her wanted to kiss him badly, but Rosa assumed that she looked like a scarecrow right now…so she’d hold back for now on her need for comfort and familiarity. [break][break]
