[attr="class","silasreescroll"] Leonard walked through the streets of the festival, safe behind the mask of his mouse costume. He looked around, watching other people do things and have fun and all that. Most of them didn't wear a costume per se like he did, but the garbs they wore were certainly cool looking. He would take the time to explore, still unsure what to do. Well, since he went to the trouble of putting on such a suit he could do with some tried and true trick or treat, to start at least. [break][break]
Though...he didn't really know to go about it. Was it fine to just bother people at that time? He never was one for politics and etiquettes but he didn't really...meddle much with people. Let alone disturb someone in their home for something silly. He did guess ther were expecting it, so there was no harm in trying. [break][break]

[attr="class","haniaimage"]❝I hear a song of woe shadowing our past in sorrow.❞
[attr="class","haniascroll"]Hania had started walking around the festival grounds, every now and then stopping as excitable children crossed his path going from one activity to another. He couldn't understand the need to rush around during such festivities, but then, he guessed this was in part for the children. They wouldn't be able to take part in things such as the zombie hunt or the locked in activity and so they had things like trick or treating to do. He had to admit, he had never been trick or treating as he was always studying, training, weakened or had to deal with balls and other social gatherings. He guessed that he could let go just this once if the chance came just to experience it once. It was still an odd feeling to go begging from door to door for treats when he could just buy them at a store.
It did make him wonder however why he never did this in the year that he was alone on the streets, surely during that time people would have taken pity on him, they would have believed that he was just dressed like an orphan or street urchin but many knew him by sight and they had always walked past him when he asked for aid previously so he doubted they would help him on that one night. He continued walking down some of the streets for the festival and noticed he was getting more away from the games and more towards the area set up for things like trick or treating. He had no idea why he had gone so far out and so had turned around and was about to walk back towards where he had come from only to bump into a person. "I do apologise, I am a little out of sorts it would seem" he said to the other.
Making sure to stabilize the other if they almost fell he then looked to the other only to see a giant mouse head looking back at him. 'It takes all sorts I guess.' he thought to himself "That is quite an interesting costume you have there." he commented taking note of the neet tailoring on the suit meaning whoever was indeed inside had to be from a wealthy family. He personally couldn't image anyone he personally knew wearing such a costume but he would have to give credit for thinking out the box and coming as an animal someone may see in a fairytale book. "Are you alright?" he eventually asked realizing that he hadn't checked on the other after their collision and so needed to rectify that. "Is there any activity you are about to do? Perhaps we can do it together." he wasn't the most social but he thought given the atmosphere and some of the tasks perhaps it would be better to try to put his more social foot forward, after all, he was representing his family and squad.
Rank & Element: Junior ¦ Light Class & Type: Relic ¦ Accessory (bracelet) Magic Specializations: Physical Reinforcement ¦ Healing Appearance & Lore: A simple bracelet made out of reinforced glass with an opalite charm dangling from it almost like a pendulum, that gives off a dull light during the day and a bright light during the night preventing any natural shadow from forming.
There is nothing of major historical importance or deep story into where this item came from. The white-haired heir of the Ravencrest family has suffered from terrible day and night terrors since he was young and still does to this day. When asked what is wrong he brushes it off telling people not to worry it was a condition he had. He will never go into the terrible things he sees, in fact, he personally wishes he could forget he quickly realized that his perfect memory was a double edge sword and at times he truly wished he didn't have it.
His elder sister Lydia was the first to realize that it happened more when he was in an emotional state or surrounded by darkness. She also realized that he refused to sleep unless every light source he could find was active or he would sleep outside under the sun during the day, this wasn't optimal as he was to be trained to take over the family if anything were to happen to Lydia. Still, there wasn't much anyone could think to do to help him as he refused to open up but even if they could that came with a different set of hurdles they had to get over. Hania earlier in his life wouldn't take things from people due to his treatment before being adopted.
It took a while but Lydia finally found a way to help her younger brother, she had a crystal made with light inside and told him to use it when he sleeps. She said it was hers and she just wanted to see if it would help. He was reluctant but she said it only had to be a few days so he accepted. Throughout those few days, he slept somewhat peacefully so it was clear that it helped but not enough, she could only guess that the light wasn't strong enough. She realized this would be fine for a normal child afraid of the dark but it was clear to the pink-haired woman that this wasn't a normal situation.
She personally designed what she believed would help him the most, she chose the materials, their appearance even the opalite that dangles from it. As the bracelet was being made she slowly started to imbue her own element into the glass beads and the opalite as the former was created and the latter was shaped. It took close to a year to complete but Lydia seen it as something that should be done slow and steady, this was to make sure that it was done right the first time and that no matter what it would be near indestructible for whatever he may face in life.
On what is now classed as Hania's eighth birthday after a certain incident happened, she gave him a box, within it laid the bracelet. He was told to keep it with him always as she would be there to keep the darkness at bay and watching over him so he could be at peace while he rested. From that moment he has always kept it with him even if he hasn't always worn it.

[attr="class","silasreescroll"] Leonard was slowly easing into his current perky persona, finally getting comfortable enough with his new body of sorts to play around a little bit more and collect some candy that while he wouldn't really eat he would sneak into the bags of younger kids that flocked to him due to his cool costume. He was a noble, so he didn't need to take free stuff. If he wanted sweets he could buy them. [break][break]
The mouse moved around, hopping and skipping absentmindedly, which was probably not the best thing to do in crowded spaces. At least he wasn't alone in doing so. He felt something soft bump into him the moment he turned a corner, only to stumble backwards and be caught by a blue haired guy in a jet black outfit. Leonard took no time in recognizing the guy as Hania Ravencrest, while the archmage didn't know who he was due to the mask he was wearing. Perhaps there was no need for introductions either, seeing as Hania quickly asked if there was something he was doing and if they could do it together. [break][break]
"No trouble, I didn't get hurt or anything. I wasn't really doing much either, mostly just...running around. Is there something you wanna do that I can help you with, perhaps?"
Frankie at some point had stopped in order to go through his checklist of activities. He had done some trick-or-treating, made an attempt at the fancy dress competition, and had even done a bit of carving. In fact he had just been leaving that area when a thought occurred to him. Besides some very passing remarks during his trick-or-treating and competition he hadn't really interacted with anyone during the Spirit Festival. Honestly, that wasn't all that big of a deal for him. It wasn't uncommon for the mad mage to lock himself away in his laboratory for weeks on end surviving on designed rations or specialized pills to meet full nutritional requirements without the muss and fuss of cooking. Still, he was pretty sure the Captain was expecting him to make more of an effort. He was a Green Mantis over all and there was a whole sense of pride where this Festival was concerned. Normally one of the Squad might have a little leeway where misbehavior was concerned, but on tonight of all nights his hypothesis was that would not be acceptable. He was going to need to make some sort of effort so that if he reported later he would not find himself in serious trouble.
He was going to need some people he could socialize with. People who would not be immediately turned off by his peculiarities as he has so often in the past been told by others. Stein immediately began scanning the crowd, looking for an opportunity to join a group. From experience he knew trying to implant himself in an already established group would have greater difficulty. Much like pack like animals outsiders would be mistrusted at the bare minimum and might even be warned off. The act might not be driven by the fear of taking over the pack like it would with animals, but there still would be some instinct involved that drove them to their suspicions. No, he needed a small number of people who looked more awkward then comfortable. An additional body in that situation might even be a welcome relief. A way to break whatever tension had been created by the two strangers.
His gaze danced over a number of people until it settled on two individuals. One was dressed in a rather ornate outfit, the product of wealth perhaps? The other had a comical mouse like costume that likely made children delight at the sight of it. They hadn't been speaking for long and what little snippets he could just make out of the conversation it looked as if both were not overly familiar with each other. Frankie smiled triumphantly as he realized this was his chance to insert himself. He took a moment to ensure his costume was not rumpled from walking through the crowds. The small stain from pumpkin carving was still there much to his regret, but there wasn't a whole lot he could do about that now. He could only hope that it would either go unnoticed or uncared about. Having finished checking his clothing and not wanting to hesitate any longer and miss his chance he made his way over to the pair.
As he neared them he took a second to cough aloud in an effort to get both of their attention. "I apologize, I don't mean to intrude. I've read that such Festivals are better served when done so in a group. I couldn't help, but overhear some of the conversation and thought a third might be welcome?" Frankie's smile was wide, but not quiet disarming as he strummed his long fingers against each other as he spoke. "I'm Frankie by the way, a Green Mantis helping with the Festival tonight. Given the purpose of the costumes and such no need to divulge anything else about yourselves if you don't want to. As far as activities to do I've heard small talk from passersby that the mansion or the high-end building is more fun if you go with a few people together. I don't know much else about what's involved in it, people seemed tight lip about it all. Only that the fun would be ruined if you knew too much. If both of you are talented in combat I also heard a report that there were sightings of something that might be dangerous on the outskirts. Though, I'm sure that the Captain will dispatch someone to deal with that soon enough if we go elsewhere." When meeting new people it was always best to come bearing gifts and what was a better gift then knowledge. His duties as a Green Mantis had given him some small bits of information on some of the festivities. Perhaps the two would be more welcoming of him now that he had offered up context to help them decide what to do for the night?
If the pair decided they wanted to do something completely different Frankie wasn't quite sure what he would do at that point. He suppose he could just go along with it. If they went to the competition it would be a chance to redeem himself for his earlier failure. Perhaps after being told the error of their ways the judges corrected their criteria. He could never truly say no to more opportunities to collect candy and if they went pumpkin carving he supposed it would be a great chance to see their own artistic talents and how much of a threat they posed to his own chances of winning. He supposed he would be fine with doing just about anything if it meant going along with the group. Now he would just need to wait and see if they would accept him and where ultimately they would all decide to go. The ball was proverbially in their court.
