[attr="class","zavenreescroll"] Zaven had come to Hage this year more as an envoy of his people than to revel in the enjoyment himself. Since the incident in his own home and the Golden Dawn feeling less and less like home the Shadow of Dawn focused more on strengthening himself and seeing to those in his Royal Knight squad were keeping themselves focused. They did not trust him after their last training...and quite frankly Zaven did his best in everything he did. Calculated risks were taken...he told them he was only going to hold back as to not kill them...he needed them to fight and learn with the intention of killing...nobody was going to make it through the final act of this war with the Archdaemons without a fucking wound. The daemons only made it worse and he honestly was happy that they made it through the whole ordeal...albeit a bit unhappy that the whole thing turned out to be a wake up call for them all instead of the initial training. The fact that nobody seemed to understand what he was going for in the first place...was a fucking mess that had him doubting them...he might just leave them there and take on whatever daemon came knocking himself...a noble sacrifice. Hraban picked up on this and was about to say something when he was reminded of the incident and then the follow up news...the spirit remained silent. [break][break]
His horrible mood was only accented by the fact that his many eyes and ears gave him news about someone he had his eye on. Now he had become more reclusive...an odd feeling for the once rebellious Shadow mage...jealousy was something he honestly never felt before, so he shut it down with the remainder of his other emotions. He quickly shook those feelings once more as one of Zaven’s generals...The Ravencrest woman took the lead as she led children and many others into Hage, for the first time he saw smiles on these peoples faces and he was reminded of why he made Regnum Umbra. [break][break]
For them [break][break]
He put on that trademark smile of his as he made his way around town, the invitation was received well and he wanted to see what the village could offer that would be at least a welcome distraction from his everyday life.
NOVA SILVA - Behold the Glory of House Silva Nova wasn’t too keen on going to things like the Spirit Festival since he’d have to bear with seeing the obnoxious Vermillions or even the unbearable Ravencrest family members at these kinds of events. He would rather stay at home with the other Silvas in their Town of Silva. He was surely annoyed already. He wanted to avoid as many peasants and commoners as possible and going to such an event was going to make that extremely hard. The only possible good thing that could come out of such an event was for him to find a noble who understood the way life truly worked, preferably a noble woman. If she was beautiful and knew her place, that would be very appealing to the noble male. As a magic knight, his duty was to his kingdom first and foremost and also to his family. Even so, he wanted for himself a woman of nobility who was strong and powerful. With that kind of companion, he would be able to possibly marry someone who would not dishonor the name of the Silva but build it up even more than it already was.
“Sir Nova, your clothes for the Spirit Festival have been laid out on your bed like you asked.” A servant girl that served the Silva family reported to him. He looked at her with cold eyes. ”We are not on a first name basis. You will refer to me as Sir Silva. Now get out of my way before I have to make you.” The girl bowed and hurriedly left his quarters. With a heavy sigh, Nova looked over at his neatly placed clothes. ”At least she’s not totally incompetant. These are wearable.” Nova slowly changed into his clothes. He looked into the mirror, finding little fault with his garments. He was ready to go meet some noble woman who would help him have a relaxing time at the Spirit Festival instead of a stressful time. As he walked out of the room, he came face to face with a servant who bowed as he walked past her. “Sir Silva, shall I get a spatial mage for you?” Nova kept on walking away. ”I’m no infant that can’t control their mana. I will fly there on a broom. Now stop annoying me.” Walking to the door, Nova grabbed a broom and mounted it. When he took off, he breathed in the fresh air.
While flying to Hage village Nova had enough time to think of what he truly wanted in life. He was going to take over the Silver Eagles and wed a beautiful strong noblewoman. He was going to become even stronger than Nicodemus and take over the family if need be. He would rather just take over the squad though since he would be able to avoid the politics and focus on making the squad stronger and pure. After all, to him, the Silver Eagles was the strongest squad around. They were the squad that held the one true royal bloodline, The Silva Family. All the other families were mere pretenders. There was no family as elite as The Silvas no matter what others thought. They were simply misinformed.
When he landed, he looked around to see how the place was decorated. There were activities which could be quite interesting. He not only looked around to make sure that he wasn’t touched by those under him but also to see what interesting events were going on. The quickest way for him to find a noblewoman befitting his high standards, his best bet would be to go to the Fancy Dress Competition. At least, there would be beautiful women there if nothing else. The chances of him finding a beautiful woman who was also noble and strong was pretty high considering. That said, he decided that would be the first place he’d go. The second place he would go would be pumpkin carving. He was creative enough to craft something that would make his mother proud. He wanted to at least showcase his undeniable skill in creating something that people should admire. After the pumpkin carving would be doing the Zombie hunt. It would be a good way to stretch his legs and show off the amazing power of House Silva. After all, this was the perfect place to show everyone just how powerful and talented House Silva truly was. Last on his list was the locked in segment. That intrigued him. He didn’t know why but being in a mansion with others while a noble couple told you the rules and the inability to use magic inside was somewhat exciting. A very unlikely activity he would do would be trick or treating. If he did in fact find a noble to his liking and she wanted to trick or treat, he would do so with her. The mere fact that he was a Silva meant that they would give him their finest candy lest he make them pay afterwards. He deserved great things for his greatness after all.
Something that Nova wasn’t exactly interested in was the Murder Mystery. After all, when it came to those kinds of activities, he could always predict the person who was branded the murderer too easily. People were given roles and some people cracked under pressure just from the fact that they couldn’t see themselves being able to play that role. It was pathetic. Then there were those who committed to the role but in doing so they revealed themselves as such, whether intentionally or unintentionally. Regardless, he wasn’t too interested but it didn’t mean that he wouldn’t attempt. Maybe this year they had better people participating but he would never know unless he gave it a try. It was all dependent on what happened before.
With his mind made up, Nova slowly walked around, avoiding commoners and peasants until he got by the Fancy Dress Competition area. ”Here we are. Time to try to enjoy this stupid event. Now let’s see what fancy noble strong women are participating. It would be a bonus if she were a Magic Knight as well.”

Iris was happy with herself Leona and Taiyo decided to take her out as a welcome to Clover present. She was bubbly and interested in all that was available within eyesight; Hage Village was much like where she grew up, the place even had that familiar scent of farmland and well...it was easy to fall in love with places like these. The decorations and even the places put up for gatherings were unlike anything she had seen before, Taiyo bought her some popped corn and Leona some freshly baked pot potatoes. Since arriving in Clover she had experienced the rest of her family firsthand...the good and the bad, while also starting her training properly and delving into the boundless amounts of books that the Vermillion family could get a hold of. ” L-Leona Senpai do these places have any games? I am eager to try them all out…” She said as she blushed, partially because she was embarrassed, but also because there were many eyes on her and she did not know what to do at the current time.

” What a...particularly festive atmosphere…” the Known Rogue, Jorah Von Shurke strolled through the small village of Hage, now transformed into this grand spectacle put on by the Green Mantis magic knight squad. He wore a mask; the visage of a wolf. Carved from the skull of a dire wolf, his jaws remained closed and he was able to look through the eyes as if he really were some predator. He imitated various people, acting as a simple member of the traveling band of entertainers. Other times, just traveling through the area and enjoying some time off with the Yul he was earning...of course keeping an eye on who was around him at all times in case there was any...interesting magic. The magical predator that was the imitation mage, stalked the festival like the very animal he was wearing the mask of. In a set of black and white costume clothes, complete with suspenders. His grimoire was of course on his person, but tightly bound and not showing the four leaves that would surely attract him more attention than he would have wanted.
The Festival of Spirits was upon the Clover Kingdom. The time when the veil of reality and unreality may mingle, allowing the monsters and the dead to cross over into our own world. Yugo had always been fascinated with the holiday. He had always been to weak to partack in the traditions, Howeve his mother would tell him the stories. Like that of the Bloodcount Strahd von Zarovich, a vampire who walked between worlds and only visited ours on the last night of the Festival, to greet and mingle with those who he might feed upon. She told him of the headless knight who roamed the land and took the head of those who it came across throughout the land as it road a flaming skeletal stallion. The scariest story for him however, was the story of the Daemons invading long ago, a great and terrible war that was caused by the Daemons trying to invade the human world and the horrors they brought with them. His favorite part was when the humans beat them back into the space between worlds, and sealed them away.
The young Silver Eagle smiled as he remembered the memory of his childhood. It was so nice to have those little moments he could look down upon and remember fondly the things he could no longer have. He had made the travel to hage and even as he stood in the mirror of his rented Apartment examining his outfit, he couldn’t help but fix his costume and fidget with the layers. He had never been strong enough to go and experience a night of spirits before, and he wanted this one to be perfect. His sword and crossbow were hidden with magic in small rings he had loaned from a jeweler for the night, so as not to ruin his outfit with their obvious clashing designs. His nails were slightly longer then normal, having been grown out for this event. It had taken much practise to learn how to use his hands efficiently with the longer and sharped nails then he was used to, but he had learned quickly.
“Mother…I wonder, Can you see me on this night when humanity and the veil are as close as possible? Are you out there somewhere watching me as we speak?” He smiled softly touching the stone neckless he had gotten from his father, it had once been a gift he didn’t know the truth of, until only a short time ago he had been blind to the fact that he was Captain Zavens Child. He had been blind to alot of the world before he had taken his first steps out into the world at large. But now he could only smile in a happiness he never thought hed experience as he turned to leave, as he spoke one last time to his mothers spirit. “One life…One choice, One moment can decide so many things. I don’t want to miss anymore of life so long as I live. Thank you, Mother… for giving birth to this fragile hearted boy.

[attr="class","silasreescroll"] So, it was that time of year again. The sound of fireworks lights up the mood just as bright as they bring an explosion of color in the mostly cloudless night sky. The whole town is buzzing with excitement. People from all over have reunited to partake in the festivities. [break][break]
Small stalls are around every street, every corner and every plaza. The nice smell of local delicaties is enough to get someone's stomach grumbling, while the sound of music echoes all around. It is during times like these that the city truly comes alive. Residents and turists take their time to explore and celebrate the shifting of seasons while celebrating the history of their long lasting traditions, from inception to the present day, as one. [break][break]
Food and drinks come in no short supply during these times, but that is just a minute fraction of what the festival has to offer. For those willing to partake in it and truly grasp the holiday spirit, this event is the time to let go of one's day to day problems and instead view the world in a slightly different way. From a simple mask to full on complete costumes, the main attraction of this annual festival is of course the various costumed participants circling the streets. [break][break]
For the young, running around all dressed up might be the right opportunity to snatch a treat or two from the hands of generous donors while the old find more intrigue in showing off their craftmanship to the world if they happened to work to craft them. Chaotic fun for anyone willing enough to indulge in some lighthearted debacles. [break][break]
Leonard of course, was there. He couldn't miss it for anything in the world. He wasn't sure if anyone he knew would be around, he hadn't really asked anyone about it nor he really cared about being with family. And of course, he wasn't denying himself the opportunity to dress up with something cool. [break][break]
The full body costume was very well tailored, as he would expect from the clan that was all about clothes. He didn't really care what kind of animal they'd drop on him but a mouse? Sure it looked kinda cute and it wasn't like people other than sensors or other sages would be able to guess who was going to be inside but still... they could have given him a fiercer animal to dress up as. Leo began taking off his outfit one by one, stripping down to his smallclothes. From there, he would grab the undersuit he was supposed to wear before the costume and proptly stuffed himself inside it. Then it came time to start wearing the actual mouse outfit. He would turn the cloth to the back and pull it open, shoving his leg inside the costume's own. He would wiggle his toes into place and take note on how the elastic fabric really didn't give much wiggle room as it clung to him really tightly. As he pushed his other leg into the costume and made sure to adjust the paw over his foot he was beginning to think the thing was probably too tight for him to wear. [break][break]
Rolling his eyes at how showy this thing was going to be about his body, he quickly pulled the thing up to his waist and settled the tail behind him into place. The suit was indeed tight, but the fabric was elastic enough to stretch around his form and keep him in without feeling suffocating. He just wasn't used to skin tight clothing. The Vermillion covered his chest and worked in getting his arms inside the suit's sleeves next.
[break][break]
One final sigh after a big breath and the redhead stuffed his face into the mouse mask, fumbling around to close up the suit behind him and adjust his snout so that the mask was properly aligned with his head. From that point on, Leo stopped being himself as he exited his inn room as a mouse. [break][break]
So there he was walking around the streets, catching the occasional glimpse of other people. After a while, he would stop by a stand to get something to eat. He was getting hungry. [break][break]

[attr="class","alvanewtext] Azure Deer´s headquarters were rather busy this morning; as young Alva was running around like a headless chicken constantly looking for something. It was time to go to the Spirit Festival, a yearly event that took place in a village in the Forsaken region. Young mage was always excited for some social events, but from what he heard this one was a little different than most of them, it was full of games and activities which made him just more excited about his participation. This would also be the first time he didn’t go with his parents, as he was an official magic knight now. Instead, he had invited Lydia Ravencrest, as he felt like two of them could have some fun together, and he wanted to show her how he had improved with his skills from their last training. This also meant that Alva would have to dress up and be representative, as the light mage was very influential in the Clover Kingdom, and he didn’t want to embarrass her. [break] That´s why he was running around the base, looking for things he misplaced when preparing. He planned this outfit with his mother, and even though it was expensive, Alva really liked it. If it only wasn’t so complicated to put on. Asking several servants around the base to help him with the fitting, he finally managed to put it on, a white shirt with golden lining, made of the finest cotton together with trousers that had leather details attached to their sides. It was different than what Alva would normally wear, but he liked it. The highlight of his outfit was however a cape with a dark blue hue with a slow gradient making it lighter at the end. It made him feel like some kind of superhero and he was all in for that. He also made sure to pack another costume, that he could eventually need for a dress-up competition. Feeling really confident, he walked around his room a little to get used to these uncomfortable shoes, before putting up his newest acquisition – a necklace with a gem of a blood-red color. [break] Alva managed to buy that off one vendor, and he loved it. Not only it contrasted with his clothes, but it was also a magical accessory that improved his sensory capabilities as well and offered him means to heal himself during battle. He planned on wearing it all the time, but usually, he would hide it under his shirt. This time, he was proudly wearing it on a visible spot. It seemed like he had everything prepared, and while being a little stressed about all his messy preparations, it was time to pick up Lydia. He often wondered if she was having a hard time with the preparations as well because he couldn’t hear any sound from her room. And two of them had rooms next to each other. [break] With a little hesitation, Alva would walk out of his room only to make a few steps to stop in front of the doors of the light mage. Knocking politely a few times, he then shouted. “Lydia! It´s time to go and have fun!” He knew that he didn’t have to shout, as she would hear him anyway, but he was already very excited to go and have some fun. Once the mage came out of her room, he would just blush a little and quickly look down on the ground. “You look beautiful! But it is weird not seeing you in your fighting clothes!” With this, he would march towards the spatial doors in their base, so two of them could be transported to Hage within a matter of seconds. [break] When Alva stepped out from the portal, a different setting took place, and initially, he was overwhelmed by everything that was going on. There were more people than he would expect, and way more magic knights as well. Alva quickly started looking around, trying to absorb this atmosphere, it was unique. Spooky but fun, he loved it. He quickly looked at Lydia, his eyes glowing. “Green Mantis did an excellent job with the decoration! Where do we go first?” He asked, as he slowly started walking towards whatever caught his attention first. It was time to enjoy the festivities.

Jin Zhongli
There was a Spirit Festival going on in Hage, it was a yearly tradition apparently. Something like this was for sure going to bring in lots of people from all over Clover to one place they may not visit to often. Hage was always special in that regard so Jin saw it as a decent location for such moody and spiritual festives. And he needed no convincing to go as well, though it may not have been the best of ideas. This is one the reasons he left his home and his mother and the rest of his brothers and sisters. So he can freely partake in things like this without worrying about mother's approval. He wanted the freedom to make his own choices and simply do what he wanted to do. Jin casually walked into the home him and Aeila were staying at and noticed she wasn't there. He saw Fredrick's note about the Spirit Festival and raised an eyebrow, he didn't expect her to go given her personality. But he assumed this was Fredrick's doing as out of the two he was much more outgoing then she was.
Luckily enough Jin didn't have to go out of his way to find something to wear, as he was already carrying his outfit. Though he was a rogue and a trained assassin, along many other things. Jin liked to have his fun whether that was games, jokes, pranks, parties, festivities and many other things. Now he knew there was a time and place for such things, and it never interfered with his work. But if the time was right to have some fun he wouldn't hesitate. So this Spirit Festival was a good time and good place, so why not have some fun.
His outfit was much more mature and classy looking than anything he would normally wear. It was a long coat with a vest and suit underneath, a top hat to match. But his favorite accessory was the walking cane it came with, fully adding and completing the look. He put the whole outfit on and adjusted his gloves before grabbing his walking cane and heading towards the door with a grin on his face. But just before he left he grabbed an odd looking lantern he walked in with. The lantern was gave off a very eerie sense of dread, but thats what the white haired rogue liked about it. But every time he got close to it, thats what he liked the most. A ghostly looking face would appear in the lantern looking straight back at him as if it was staring into his soul. "I wield knowledge and power. I am a blessing. You will learn to cherish my existence White haired one." the voice spoke to Jin with a deep and calm tone. Jin simply grinned and held the lantern closer to his face. "I'm sure, i'm sure. You also weren't cheap, so hopefully you are more of a blessing than a curse. And the name is Jin." he replied walking outside. "I care not for names.""That's actually a good thing." Jin clipped the lantern to his belt and made his way to Hage.
Arriving at the entrance of the festival grounds the Barron's speech was over, but Jin cared very little for it. Though some words did stick with him. He did wonder if this thinner veil would have some kind of uncanny effect of some people. Aeila of course in mind, as her element quite literally dealt with the afterlife. "Lantern what do you know of this veil between the spirits and living?" Jin asked. "I do not hold such knowledge, as no one truly does. Even the ones that claim to. The spirits, the dead even the living are not easily understood." the lantern replied. Jin paused for a moment looking around for Aeila and Fredrick and spotted them eventually. "Your not sounding so knowledgeable.""..."
"You two!" Jin said getting both their attention, the white haired rogue did a polite bow taking off his top hat and putting back on. Once he was back up he looked at Aeila and noticed she was wearing such a different looking outfit. "Well you certainly look dressed for the occasion. Wonderful as always. You look like royalty!" Jin than gave Fredrick an eye, knowing her wardrobe was mostly his doing as it always was. But her outfit did look really nice, perhaps it was a way to boost her confidence and self esteem. It was a good decision. Jin was growing to rely on Fredrick for these tasks, as he was not always around to see to it. And Fredrick was doing a much better job at it as well.
But before he forgot, Jin unclipped the lantern at his side and showed it to both of them with a grin on his face. "Look what I found." he said holding it to their faces. It may have seemed strange Jin was this excited about something that was so creepy and eerie, but he liked what he liked. "I wield knowledge and power. I am a blessing. You will learn to cherish my existence Raven haired one." the creepy flame looking skull face said to Aeila. Jin pulled it back and looked at the lantern. "Are you broken? You said the same thing to me already." he asked it with a comical frown. "Will I be serving both of you?" the lantern asked. "Yes and him...but not so much him. Just sometimes him." Jin replied pointing to Fredrick. The face in the lantern then turned towards Fredrick. "I wield knowledge and power-" Jin stopped it before it could finish by clipping it back to his belt. "Ok enough of you. What do you want to do first?" Jin asked looking at Aeila.

A cool breeze blew through the streets of Hage town, rustling the trees and causing any dead leaves to fall gently to the floor joining the small piles that littered the streets. Fall had finally arrived in the Clover Kingdom and with it came the gusts of cold wind signaling that winter was beginning to approach the region. Victoria didn't care much for Fall or Winter, due in part to her connection to plants though mainly because it used to signal the decline in ships and travelers arriving at Rague's port. For a social butterfly like her, it meant that she would be spending a majority of her time indoors studying or anything else that caught her fancy at the time. Of course, there was a silver lining with the arrival of winter; in that, it left her with numerous fresh corpses for her to experiment with. That always ended up being a highlight even if her parents didn't appreciate her bringing them home. But so long as she didn't bring any attention to herself or cause a scandal then they didn't much care and it had been drilled far too deeply into her brain for Victoria to ever be that sloppy.
It had been a few weeks since she had joined the Blue Rose squad and she was no closer to understanding her magic. When it first manifested, Victoria and her parents had been surprised given the fact that. Her family was mainly nature magic users and she was the first to develop Wraith magic. She had spent months combing through her family's library for anything that could give her a hint towards an explanation only to fail. She had hoped that shed"I don't think I've ever been this far away from the capital before. And with good reason too."[/color] she thought as she looked around at the broken buildings from the inside of the carriage. Given the amount of distance Raque was from here, there was no way that Victoria was going to be arriving by foot so it was natural that she would rent a carriage to arrive. Especially seeing as Hage, and the forsaken realm as a whole were still rebuilding from the war, making the roadways dangerous. With the various supplies that were arriving to try to help rebuild the town, numerous gangs and bandits had taken to lurking on the roadways, attacking any of the suppliers. The Green Mantis squad had been working overtime to crack down on these attacks so it so Victoria didn't have any concerns about someone attempting to attack her carriage but it was still something to be on the lookout for.
When she had first heard about the Spirit Festival, Victoria had found herself somewhat intrigued by the history that she had dug up about it. Given the presence of the demon skull on the outskirts of this part of the country, she wasn't surprised to hear that there had been countless restless spirits in the past that needed quelling. She made sure to plan a visit to the library while she was in the city, feeling that she might end up finding some information regarding soul magic. She was sure that she would end up finding something or perhaps even finding another person with a magic talent similar to her's. A small part of her actually wondered if she would end up running into one of the spirits that were said to frequent the festival or if she would be able to recognize one if she did. She would like to believe that she would, but it was entirely possible that she wouldn't since as far as she knew, she had never run into an actual ghost; the spirits companions that she had seen, not counting in her opinion.
As she was thinking about what she could end up discovering, the carriage finished pulling up into the city, arriving around a block down from the entrance of the Spirit Fetival grounds. Stepping out, Victoria gave a nod to the driver as he helped her out before walking forward into the crowd. She noted that there was quite a few members from various magic knight squads that she was aware of, mainly those who were of noble births. Not surprising to see so many as this was a popular event though she was surprised at the amount of big names here; there were even some royals knights as well. Some folks were also dressed in costumes as well, including one girl in a witch's costumes, someone who was dressed as an oni, and a few masks that she couldn't place at the moment. She herself had chosen to wear a traditional shrine maiden outfit, finding it to be both appropriate for the type of event as well as somewhat funny those there wasn't anyone who'd really get the joke.
A maniacal laughter drew Victoria's attention towards the stage where a man was standing in front of a microphone. She supposed that this was the Baron and made sure to listen to his words as he began to speak. It wasn't much of anything new that she didn't already know so she simply moved forward to get a brochure for the games. She already had plans to join the Pretty Dress competition but it would probably be some time before that event was ready so she'd have to kill some time the momewhere else. The only other events that looked the least bit interesting to her aside from that was Murder Mystery, Pumpkin Carving as well as Locked In. She would possibly end up going to observe the zombie hunt but she had no interest in actually taking part in it since she didn't feel like running around the woods fighting in her current outfit. Ultimately, she decided that she would do the murder mystery first, noting a small crowd gathering around the mansion. This should end up proving to be a great way to test her metal as well as seeing just how good her people reading skills really were.
Circe Vitalis approached the festival warily; she had heard plenty about it on the streets along the way here, many nearby towns bustling in excitement for the upcoming activities. Circe didn't really have many celebrations and was keen on seeing what the rest of the world was up to in that regard. People were throwing around phrases of groups that she didn't quite understand, like Green Mantis which had to be some sort of important group. The decorations and activities were abundant, keeping her golden eyes busy as she scanned the place thoroughly. Circe must have walked around the entire festival a half dozen times and still felt uneasy without being able to keep track of everything. There was no time for patience and observation and this festival was busier than a grassy field in the Spring. She took a deep breath and let it out, trying to relax. She really should try to join in on a few activities, try to understand the dynamics of this society she had lived isolated from. Just as she uncoiled her arms from a foreboding cross over her chest, a small hand tugged on her cloak and her whole body become as stiff as a board once more. Her golden eyes sought out the disturbance like a predator, becoming more gentle when she saw what it was.
A girl of maybe twelve with blonde braids all over her head and a rainbow of colors upon her face was grinning up at her. "Your costume is so beautiful! What is all over your cloak? What are you dressing up as?" Circe blinked for a moment in confusion, replying softly, "I am a Witch from the Woods. I made this cloak myself with hundreds of feathers from the crows and ravens that live there." The child swayed in place, her face filling with admiration. Circe couldn't understand it- did these people not make their own clothing? She realized the use of feathers was a little ostentatious but she had seen the people here in all sorts of luxurious garb and doubted that she stood out. And costumes? Did this mean the way these people were adorned today was unusual, special for the occasion? That explained a lot and she felt a smile coming over her lips, realizing how foolish it was to have believed it was normal. "Well, its beautiful. Prettier than all the others here. I wish I could look like that!" The little girl gushed with a rosy tinge to her face. Circe's smile twisted to the side and she drew off her hood. Her dark hair was coiled at the back of her head and her dark make up gave her a fierce and elegant appearance. "You should be just as you are: it is beautiful. I like your face paint. I would like to try that, I think. Can you show me?"
The little girl proceeded to show Circe where a small stand of artists stood painting the faces of children. Circe asked for something in the spirit of the festival. The artist looked at the tall dark haired woman with her enormous crow-feather cloak and gave a nervous nod. The artist had given her the same rainbow face paint as the little girl who had taken her to the stand in the first place. Circe checked it in the mirror and shrugged, "It feels strange, but if it is how the people here celebrate the spirits, then I shall wear it with pride for tonight." Circe left the little girl and the art stand and let out another deep sigh. She spoke to herself quietly as she drew her hood back up, only her rainbow face visible among the darkness of her attire. "Time for a real activity. If I can stand the strangeness of these people for one night, maybe I can learn something." A challenge of being locked inside a building was the nearest and so it was there that she strode.

[attr="class","temppost"] Knock, knock, knock, the sound of a soft thumping came from the mahogany door to the large older man's left. His large frame steeled breathing gently within his large bed and feathered pillows. He sat his large body up, draping his legs over the side of his bed, Magnus let out a small yawn and a large stretch of his arms. Scars littered his body, and his body was stiffer than usual. Considering all the running around he was doing recently he didn't find that surprising in the slightest, in fact, he had already accounted for such. After all, hospitality and physical care were some of his specialties. Taking a moment to roll his shoulders, stiffing his back as he did to loosen up the feel in them, he made his way over the door. Magnus was nearly as tall as the door frame, which was saying something considering all of the door frames within the Aurelius estate had been made larger simply to accommodate him and other potentially large individuals. However, there was no denying that with Magnus standing at seven feet two inches tall that he was the main reason the door sizes had been adjusted to nearly 8 feet tall. He opened his mahogany door, the scent of cinnamon floating to his nostrils. He was treated to the sight of a young girl. "Good Morning, Mr. Magnus" Margaret, and Elaine both spoke in unison. The two girls were looking up at him, blond hair and emerald eyes glancing up at his. He met them both with a gentle smile. "Good morning my dears, but I've told you, Margaret Aurelius, you may simply call me Magnus." The girl's emerald eyes twinkled, she blushed and gave a court nod. Elaine smiled even wider, her eyes twinkled with excitement, it was clear the young girl was proud of her older sister for officially being adopted into the family as a full member. She had recently passed her full exams and trials to do so but insisted on staying near Magnus's side for the time being. He agreed especially considering he didn't want to move Margaret away from her younger sibling so soon, especially after the incident with her recently having been kidnapped in that damned dungeon. The very thought of it still made him angry, but he was glad to have the young girl back.
He stepped to the side letting Elaine inside, after all, it was her job to make the bed, fix the room, and the likes. Although Magnus usually got up early enough to do so himself before the young girl had a chance too. However, today he decided to sleep in a little while longer, of course, the girls knew this beforehand as to not interrupt his beauty sleep. He made his way down the hall, his light blue nightgown hanging loosely around his body, only firm in places where it mattered to keep the clothes from falling off. He made his way to the bathroom, making sure to take a long bath that had already been prepared by the girls beforehand. The water's temperature was nearly scalding hot but had been left to cool down for some time now. The bathwater had a mix of honey, rose petals, some salts, and chamomile mixed into it, along with many other herbs, the bath was soothing and he took the time to soak and relax. Letting the steam loosen his hair and beard, dipping his body beneath the large built-in tub. To many, his bathroom looked similar to that of a Japanese sauna, and it was something he had come across in his travels when younger, and ever since had one in every one of the properties he's owned.
He soaked meditating on his thoughts before getting out and drying off. He made sure to apply the magical makeup to his body to hide his scars, like always leaving only one to freely show, the scar of his eye that represented one of his greatest shames. He stared at himself in the mirror, not allowing himself to forget that day. He took a deep breath and made his way to his area with his suit already finally pressed and hanging, he grabbed them and meticulously began to get dressed. However, unlike his usual suits, this one was more ornate and decorative. After all, it was a costume, he decided to go as a cavalry horse rider, although it could still be seen as something a noble would wear on an average day it was much more ornate, a bit more costume-like. It was something he had drawn long ago and he liked it so much he decided to have it made into an actual outfit to wear for an event such as what was going on today. The Spirit Festival, he had never been to one even in all his years although he had heard rumors about such an event before during his travels. It was because of this that he greatly wanted to participate this year. The outfit was carefully chosen and made with the best materials he could find. It was adorned with gold, blue, and whites. On his head rested a golden crown ornate in design, from then on his he wore a blue and white shirt, with a small pattern going across the right and left sides, downward, leading into white and blue leather pants of the same design. He wore white leather gloves, and atop the outfit he wore a brown leather Calvary shirt, it was regal and draped with a blue and gold cloak. A white ascot tie was draped across his neck and tucked within the shirt folded collar as the final layer. He had a pair of blue, gold, and white boots on. His grimoire and magical paint brush set on his waist.
He made his way out toward the stable for the final piece of his outfit. An actual all-white horse, with a saddle the same style as his costume. The horse was an eggshell white, its hair smooth and its fur brushed with special scents and spices that wouldn't damage its fur. He stroked its mane and the horse neighed, it reared up before he calmed it. "I know boy, I know, its nice to see you too." He said with a smile, he hadn't ridden this horse in a long time, and at the moment it was on loan as his estate had yet to have a stable in which to hold animals on his property. Nonetheless, this horse was one he had used before in the past and decided to use yet again. He made his way out and about in the early morning, making his way to the town where the event was held. He listened to the Baron speak and once he was done Magnus decided to make his way to the next location, he wanted to enjoy some games, and he also had work to do for the family. His only regret was that he had yet to have the Aurelius family themselves host something for this spirited festival, he was sure if he needed to he could have them pull something together, to do at least a few of these games. But he decided to see how others had begun to do so first to get a feel for it. With his mind made up, he decided to make his way to the first game...
Summary: Magnus gets dressed as a Calvary Horse Rider, he has a eggshell white horse decorated to match that he's riding on. He makes his way to the first game.

The paintbrushes are ornate in design, with swirls of small patterns and silver in color. They have purple bristles that fade into white at their tips. Nothing is too special about these paintbrushes on their own except they are sturdy and have no need for a palette as they are capable of producing any color of paint on their own with a small infusion of mana. These paintbrushes were a gift to Magnus from his mother when he was younger and as such he cherishes them dearly but also uses them for his magic. However, as they are a magical set, they all share the same durability, thus if his weapon was to break even if it was just one paint brush due to an attack capable of destroying a junior rank weapon all of them would break. Outside of the fact that they can release paint, these weapons are nothing more than blunt objects. As such they cannot be used to stab or pierce without the usage of a spell or its ability. A few months had gone by since the white-haired female joined the Green Mantis and got a shock that changed her and another member's lives forever. They had found out that not only were they related by blood but they were in fact twins, she hadn't been back to ask her father for an explanation for the lies told throughout her life; she knew there would be no use in that as her father though could be a kind man could also be vindictive and cruel though he wore the mask of a gentleman regardless of the situation when in the public eye. She got off lighter than most but just because they were father and daughter didn't make her immune from his ire if she angered him and she knew her decision to join a mid to lower tier magic knight squad would have done just that as she had been given a vote by more renowned squads.
Still, this is where she felt like she needed to be even if she hadn't understood it at first, but, after meeting her twin brother Valo she believed some higher power out there thought it was about time the two met. Their introduction to each other hadn't been the smoothest as she had been raised with her father with wealth where he had been raised by their mother wondering at times where their next meal would be coming from. It was insane for her to think that though they were twins they had lived far different lives and wondered if each parent didn't what the other child. Her father had told her she was an only child and that though he loved her mother she died in childbirth with her, then again that story had changed several times over the years, this was the one he used the most.
So she wondered if her mother only wanted Valo and not her, she knew some families preferred one gender over the other or only wanted a single child. Then again, it could have been that her father didn't want Valo and because their mother fought for him he got rid of them both. There were just too many questions and she was quite sure any answers she and he got would just lead them to more questions but they needed to know these kinds of things right? Over the passing months, she had seen Valo very little, it was to be expected he had been summoned for training and bonding with others as he has been chosen to be a magic knight. She was happy for him but at the same time it left her feeling hollow but she chalked that up to finally finding him and then him taking off again.
Still, when the spirit festival the Green Mantis were known to traditionally host came up he came back and the squad worked together to get everything prepared. She actually learned how to make the spooky candy that was going to be given out during the trick or treat part which was fun. She also helped with decorating the grounds to make it look more spooky and run down which though went against her want for pretty things it turned out she done quite well with it. Soon enough the night in question came and her captain addressed those taking part and it got her wondering about things, she hadn't known Barron all that long but he always seemed to have an insight that others could only hope to gain a glimpse at. It was creepy in her opinion and wonder if it was because he wasn't all there up top.
She herself was dressed up in a tailored black suit with silver trim, white ruffle shirt, black gloves, black arm guards with a silver cross and a sapphire in the centre, silver star earrings with blue tassels coming from them, her hair was up in a matching ribbon. To look at her you'd think she was a very feminine male but she honestly didn't care what others thought of her, she would just deal with them at a later point as she didn't want to start an issue at something her squad was hosting. There were optics to worry about and the one thing her father had shown her is how to hide the monster underneath a mask and strike when every other person had forgotten the slight.
Kelorian wasn't the most festive fellow, sadly. However, he hadn't the slightest idea where oh where to start on his redemption tour and hadn't made many acquaintances since he'd made his mind up to do so. What better place to start than a festival? Not just any sort of festival one with mystical potential thinning the line between the dead and the living and hosted by a magic knights squad no less. It had potential at least for him to meet the other would be protectors of the realm; get his name out there if nothing else.
He'd never been to Hage village before, it had a homey feel to it. One he could see himself retiring in one day albeit if the green mantis don't come around too often that is. His black hues would catch the flow of the red-ish leaves dancing by with the winds. Surely the autumn had to be here, these winds were getting bold against his melanin sparking goosebumps on his otherwise smooth skin. He should have dressed more appropriately for the weather, but live and you and learn. Though he had at minimum followed the instructions given on apparel to at least not stick out among the living and dead and warn a horned masked, with a menacing smile on its face and even a furry wig draping down to its shoulders. He felt silly, maybe even a bit coy this was not his style in the slightest but at least the rest of the world wouldn't see him brood he supposed.
For this to be such moment of protection for the village of Hage, the people were taking it lightly. Granted he'd heard that this wasn't the first event of its kind, and a tradition of generations with no concrete origin of its beginnings, it had basically turned into a cultural gathering that even the average citizen was accustomed to. Now there, Kelorian could agree was one way to reign in the fear of the average folk; turn it into not so much a joke but well...a festival. He could see the appeal, food, games, music, bring life to what could bring tragedy.
Even the Barron brought hope, for as sinister his appearance and calm to the hearts of the people with his speech. 'So this is what it means to calm hearts and minds?' Kelorian took note, the man may not have had the most cheeky looking smile or dazzling eyes but he knew how to quell fear and lift spirits; a lesson worth taking in from a seasoned hero. Kelorian would walk from the gathering and idly scope around then, watching the citizens play and 'dance with the dead' as Barron called it. He himself did find himself to be a bit hungry so he would go and indulge in the festival food with the little scraps of money that he had while figuring out what it was he should do with his time here in Hage village and what treats he could pull for himself.

Talk of a Spirit Festival had made its way to Jiro which he was more than interested in checking out. The red-haired Zhongli currently had no...jobs that he needed to fulfill so what better way to kill some time than to attend this thing.
Of course, he was going to have to be on his best behavior.
Having acquired enough yul from previous jobs, Jiro was able to take a carriage ride from an inn he was staying at in Aries Garse all the way to Hage. The ride itself was pretty uneventful which wasn't surprising since both Jiro and the carriage drive were keeping to themselves. Jiro's mind was mostly wandering on what he'll probably do once he reaches there. Perhaps he'll set up a little art stand and paint some folks. His mind usually goes to art-related being that it is sort of a passion of his...plus it tends to bring in the ladies so that's a bonus. Jiro rested the side of his head against one of his fists as he looked out of the carriage window a smirked a little as he continued to think about this, forming a little grin that almost comes off as sharp.
Little did the rogue know that he wasn't the only Zhongli attending these festivities...
After some time, the carriage finally showed up onto the scene of the festival, and the moment it stopped, Jiro opened the door and stepped out. The decay-wielding rogue was of course no stranger to dressing for occasions...considering he has made a living out of it one could say, so the man had something to wear for today. Jiro's attire for today consisted of a traditional black kimono with white crane designs. They weren't phoenixes which is this man's preferred type of bird, but it still didn't look half bad on him. He also had on fitting black sandals and a fox mask resting on the side of his face. Then to finish it off was a paper fan in his hand which he used to fan himself for a bit before closing it. Jiro felt good about what he was wearing, leaving no doubt in his mind.
"Thank you for the ride, my good sir." Jiro said to the driver before giving him the peace sign as he rode off. With a satisfied sigh, Jiro was about to look around to see what he could do before hearing the voice of the Green Mantis Captain, Barron Castle. Catching his interest, Jiro made his way to where a lot of other folks were to listen in on the captain.
"The veil between the spirit world and our world is so thin. You can smell the death on the air. Hmm. There is a serenity in death, isn't there? "
The first words that the Magic Knight captain uttered which was what really caught Jiro's attention. The smell of flesh...decaying flesh, things that Jiro has become familiar with. Jiro views hexes and curses, especially his own as art just as much as he does with painting or drawing. Spells that slowly wear and break down their victims... it makes their deaths feel a little less...serene as that captain put it, but it is still a true work of art in this fallen Vermillion's eyes. Thinking about this made Jiro smile a little, but now wasn't the time to be...experimenting with his magic.
As Barron's greeting wrapped up, folks started to disperse, but Jiro lingered there for a bit, stuffing one of his hands casually into his pocket. "Alright, what to do, what to do?" he muttered to himself while looking around, a bit of a carefree expression on his face. He decided not to go with his painting stand idea, but it didn't mean he couldn't express his artistic side still! Something about pumpkin carving caught the rogue's mind, but as he was making his way there...something or rather...someone caught his attention. He noticed someone in a top hat and cane. Although those didn't look familiar, the white hair did. "Huh?" Jiro raised an eyebrow. Could that be...? Of course, this male wasn't alone. There was a woman and another male with him as well. His attention then went back to the white-haired male and a sly grin formed on his face.
Looks like pumpkin carving was going to have to wait.

Although Frankie had been living in Hage all his life this was going to be the first time in all of that time that he was ever going to be going to the Spirit Festival. Typically, the veil thinning between the living and the dead would have excited and fascinated the mad mage. He would have even come every year to study the phenomenon and maybe see if it could be manipulated in some fashion. For science! However, for understandable reasons it has become more of a tourist attraction than anything else. People travel from all over to enjoy the festivities and in most cases there is rarely a sign of the afterlife that isn't immediately quashed in some fashion by the Green Mantis Knights on duty that night. In fact it was the role of said Knights which finally had him participating in the Festival this year. As he himself was now officially a Green Mantis and although it was expected that even they enjoy the festivities somewhat, their very presence was mandatory to ensure the safety of all those currently at the Festival. So, Frankie was provided very little choice in the matter.
Still, if he had to be here he might as well make the best of it. If he got lucky maybe he would find some horrible tear in the veil and as a Green Mantis it would only be right and proper for him to study... stop it. Per the rules of this whole thing he had even come dressed in his costume of choice. He had spent the last few nights crafting it and he was quiet proud of the outfit. He felt confident that not only would it secure him just as much candy if not more so then any of the children running around, but it would even be a fair contender in the fancy dress competition he heard was supposed to be going on tonight. He'd have to see about attending to both of those things to truly get his Yul worth out of the materials and labor involved.
Stein was thinking about all of these things even as he was wondering around the area and hearing his Captain far off in the distance giving a rousing speech and welcome to those who had come out tonight. The fledgling mage had yet to have any real opportunity to interact with his Captain, but that was probably for the best. All the talk of performing one's duty perfectly reminded him that if the rumors were true it would not do well to get on the Captain's bad side. The Green Mantis were always quiet infamous for how rough they could be on both their own people and any who crossed them. Although it was likely inevitable that Frankie would eventually find himself punished for one thing or another he wasn't exactly in any rush to end up on the Captain's naughty list just yet. True to the Captain's decree he would try to be on his best behavior. At the very least he would do well to be better than any other Green Mantis he might run into tonight. After all, one didn't need to be the very best model of a Magic Knight, they just needed to make sure they weren't the worst example of one.
With everyone in costume it was hard to figure out who was even a Magic Knight, let alone someone who was part of the Green Mantis. In some cases you could just almost tell by the way people held themselves, but it was always possible that they were just very on guard Citizens or perhaps even, dare he think it, a Rogue. However, if it was the last nothing he could do about it besides wait and see what came of it. If such figures had mingled in there would be no point trying to sniff them out until it was clear they were up to something nefarious. After all this was the sort of Festival were all were supposed to be welcome. Chances were if he went around interrogating people the Captain would have his hide for ruining peoples' fun. Nope, if they weren't going to act as a threat to anyone in the Forsaken Region it honestly just wasn't worth the hassle.
Frankie quickly shook his head back and forth, having realized that he had become lost in a rather depressing chain of thought. It was supposed to be the Spirit Festival after all! He had already decided he would enjoy it and that was exactly what he was planning on doing. From a quick look around there were a ton of games and festivities he could partake in. There were the two he had already planned on doing, costumes and fancy outfits. However, there were also a handful of other things he could get up to. Pumpkin carving, murder mystery, and there was even a very ostentatious mansion that all were welcome to. The mad mage still wasn't quite sure how they had erected the thing so quickly. He was hoping some kind of magic rather than boring old manual labor. He made a note to himself to check out that place, but not right away. He needed to have priorities and those priorities were for candy and competition. It wouldn't do to have some sort of accident that caused his outfit to be ruined before he could partake in the very things he had made it for. No, he put both the pumpkin carving and the mansion high on his to do list, but not at the top. He would come back for both when he wasn't quite so worried that he might make a mess and ruin all his good work.
With a whistle on his lips and a pep in his step he began to meander towards the area where the fancy dress competition were to be held. He was looking forward to showing off his outfit were a number of eyes could see.
