[attr=id,pryHEAD] Backstory
[break]
Spring and summer have come and gone, the weather has started to be come cooler and the evenings come a lot quicker than they once did. Just looking around the normal lush area of Hage village and surrounding areas it is easy to see that winter is quickly approaching as farmers have started to bring in the harvest, trees once green leaves have started to turn red and amber. Before the first leaves fall a tradition from long ago has to take place. The spirit festival. No one is quite sure on how, when or why this tradition started, depending on who you ask will really depend on the answer you get and if you ask more than one person you could gain contradicting stories leaving a person to make up their own mind. [break][break] The most common reasoning was that due to the veil of the living and the dead being so thin things that shouldn't be in the world seemed to have been able to cross over. They envied what they couldn't have or no longer possessed and so started causing trouble for those around them. The Captain of the Green Mantis wanted to protect the people of their home from the mischief and threats of these beings and so held a festival filled with food, music and games one year. In this festival everyone was told to dress in costumes so no one would know living from spirit and that they could play harmless tricks, play games, dance, sing, eat and be merry. Children and teens could even go gathering treats from stalls and houses if they so desired. There was worry about cost but the captain said that he would cover everything and not to worry. [break][break] The first festival was hit and miss but as the years went on it seemed to get better, those who went a little too far were warned and those who did go too far got arrested. Yes, it was a festival and yes the Green Mantis were also there to enjoy themselves but they understood they also had a duty to the people of Hage and so were aware of things going on around them. Now, it is a tradition the Green Mantis have and something that the people do in the hopes to spend time with their loved ones, whether they are alive or dead.

[attr=id,pryHEAD] Barron's Greeting
[break]
A maniacal laughter emitted from the devilish grin that Hannibal Barron was now sporting. [break][break] "The veil between the spirit world and our world is so thin. You can smell the death on the air. Hmm. There is a serenity in death, isn't there? [break][break] We've held this tradition for years now and it has been a smashing success! Haha! [break][break] Welcome everyone, to our Spirit Festival. Once again we gather here when our two worlds are one. I have protected this town for so long now. I am counting on all of you to do your best out there. Enjoy yourselves. I'm especially expecting big things from my squad. You better show out today! [break][break] Citizens of Clover, enjoy this festival. Dance with the dead in the glorious moonlight. Knights, you know your duty. [break][break] I expect nothing less than perfection this year and I am sure you will deliver. So good luck to you all. Perhaps you will find yourself reunited with a loved one. Over the years I have seen many of my friends. Whether that is the spirit world or my own brain I'll never know! Haha! [break][break] Now go friends! Go with the wind! There be spirits out here after all. Let them guide you.

[attr="class","julienglass2scroll"] Sol grinned a bit under the guise of his outfit as he heard his captain announce the start of the spirit festival something once again he always looked forward to every year, while the mans katana was not found he still has his grimoire on him but it was hidden under his outfit, unlike his normal outfit which was influenced by his adoptive family the Mantis had instead gone for a more ominous and sinister look for this festival given the time of year. The man was clad in black pants that went into his boots which had intricate and almost jagged designs on them above that he had on what was almost a combination of a gown and jacket as the fabric in the front came down to mid thigh on him but the outer layers wrapped around and still blocked the remainder of his pants from being seen. Along the coat and gown there were intricate patterns inlaid into it with a lighter shade of black resembling a very dark grey and around the front of the outfit and the shoulders and back were markings but in vivid purple. [break][break] On the decay mages shoulders were ornaments that were jagged but intricate amd his sleeves were long nearly overshadowing his hands and had the same dark grey inlays in them but the mans hands were not uncovered instead they were covered in black gloves and over that were ornate and wicked looking claws meant for looks and not function , Sols head was completely covered as a hood was up and hid both his face and his hair and to finish the look a blood red crimson half mask was on his face blocking his eyes and seemed to come down and cover his cheeks with two slim silver crescents on it one bigger then the other one. All in all Sol looked very sinister but he was making sure to keep his eyes on any potential threats since his squad was hosting but also in charge of security for this event as well. The Man mused for a moment if anyone even recognize him given his elaborate costume but then again that was the fun if he could give someone a spook, glancing around slowly Sol looked for anyone that seemed familier but since the event had just started he hadnt spotted anyone yet. [break][break]
[break][break] An ornate katana with a twenty-four-inch (60 cm) blade. the sheath is made of what seems to be made of marble which has been carefully carved into and engraved with what looks like ruby, the base of the sheath has a gold kojiri. Just above the midway point, there seems to be a piece of onyx that has been set around the sheath, the top and bottom of the onyx seems to have the same white marble though it has been fashioned to look almost like fur or feathers. Connected to the onyx there seems to be additional ruby fastenings with ruby chains connecting one part to the next, near the top there is a ruby set in gold that leads off to three carmine red tassels. The handguard seems to be made out of gold leading into the hilt a hilt that is just under half the size of the blade that covered in lackered red marble before being surrounded in black ribbon with gold helm and small ruby beads at each crossing pattern of the ribbon. [break][break] The corrupting shadow was made using an unknown method outside of a certain noble family within Clover. This family has been shunned by many other noble houses because of their appearances and they macabre magic that they are born with so choose to remain in the forsaken region instead of the noble. Not a lot is known about this secretive family, it's hierarchy or its family mechanics and they aim to keep it that way, it allows them to continue doing what they are without too many questions being asked. One thing people will notice of this family is that when they pass their trial of adulthood they start wielding a weapon of some sort and how the dynamics of the family will change to that person. "This will be so exciting" Spoke a young snow haired vixen from a carriage with a light laugh of excitement. She has always loved the Spirit festival. Amaya had decided to spend the entirety of the day with her vermillion boyfriend. Most of the time that is what she tends to do when her squad or family did not need her attention. She isn't one about venturing out much since the last time she did, planning on not allowing her curiosity to land her in scolding water once again. "I always loved the spirit festival." She added to her companions.
[break][break]
For as long as she could remember, Amaya has always loved the spirit festival that was thrown this time every year. it was special to her and something even her parents had once enjoyed. even in recent years it seem to be even more important to her for her own personal reasons. She has always believed in ghosts and spirits of thoes that passed on before herself. her own natural senesitivty to such things always seemed amplified during this time of the year, so one could say she felt connected to the event in more ways then those that could be seen by normal eyes. Sure Amaya was excited but then again she was also nervous of the fact she choose a costume that was very out of her normal attire and why not? She got to choose something that wasn't too crazy for the festivity. Today the young Ravencrest had her hair pulled into a high ponytail towards the back of her head with lines of jewels weaved through the hair on her scalp. a light purple veil rested over the lower half of her face along with a see through light purple shawl resting around the crocks of her elbows. A one shoulder mid driff lined her chest , covering what was needed but kept her shoulders, stomach and back expressed. two loose sleeves rested at mid triceps, being left open and allowed free range with the soft purple and white material., jewels lined along its edges. a flowing skirt with a slit down the front right leg was wrapped and layered around her tiny hip line, allowing her natural tone curves to show freely. the skirt reached to her ankles, the purple and white ascetic of the various layers of the skirt flowed freely around her form.
[break][break]
Amaya had decided to get herself dressed at the vermillion estate since she was already there with Taiyo to began with. After all, they were a couple, they were always seen together before becoming an official couple, they might as well continue. the two were seemingly destined to be together forever, not even this event was going to break that. One thing Amaya always tended to worry was crowds but even tonight she was determined to keep that worry out of her mind. Nothing was going to ruin the fun she was determined to have at the festival.
[break][break]
She snapped out of her thought process feeling the carriage come to a halt as she gathered all her skirt layers close to her body while climbing out of the carriage, readjusting them to ensure all was proper and covered as she looked towards the carriage. "Come on Taiyo! The night is young and I want to get started with all its festivities." She stated excitedly resting her manicured fingers around her hips leaning back on her left hip in impatience for her party to join her. She wasn't a royal ravencrest tonight, Tonight she was a simple snow white belly dancer.
The nights were drawing colder by the day, she didn't mind this much due to the nature of her magic. In honesty, it felt like a weight had been finally lifted from her chest and that for the first time in months she could breathe. She had heard some of the people within the Yuiee estate and even in her own squad when she was permitted to go there speak of the spirit festival that the Green Mantis squad held each year. As it was the first time she had experienced the fall away from home she wanted to attend the festival to understand how people celebrated the harvest in Clover. She had every assumption that there would be eyes on her and for her not to do anything stupid. She was hoping to gain aid, there were a few things flawed within that notion and they all stemmed from her upbringing.
She had no idea that dressing up was something that she was meant to do at these kinds of things, even if she had she was taking it as a chance to dress in her 'normal' clothing and not the flowing hanfus' and kimonos she was being forced to wear by her captor. The clothing was a simple white kimono with gold and red maple leaves on the sleeves and crimson hakama. She wasn't looking to stand out in any way but when she arrived she realized she stood out more for the lack of dressing up. 'Well this isn't good' she thought to herself. Still, she would enjoy her freedom and perhaps find things to add to what she was wearing to make a makeshift costume. It was as she was walking around Barron caught the attention of the crowd and made his speech.
"Reunited with a loved one?" she whispered to herself as she looked to the moon, she thought back and still couldn't remember her father. She had been told that he had perished in the line of duty and that he was a well-known defence mage. This was one of the main reasons when she was offered a position in the squad she had accepted, it was odd but she thought she could perhaps grow closer to her father by walking in his footsteps. She had only taken part in the magic knight exams so she could see her brother in something other than a picture. Even in all of her time within Clover she had yet to speak a single word to her brother, but then, it was hard when Jirou currently kept her on a short leash and the collar tighter still. She had to wonder how no one had noticed what he was doing.
The man who he saw as a father had taught him well it seemed as if he could hide his true self behind a mask, she knew it would eventually slip it was just a matter of when. With the estate set out as it was and the parents doing their duties as knights it may explain why they may have been in the dark. She bit her lip for a moment as she knew Jirou was jealous when it came to Ozma and his position in the family, a position he believed was his. Then there was the fact that he believed that his younger sister had forgotten her place because of who she fell in love with and so he wanted to correct her behaviour. Even if she couldn't protect herself from such a fate, perhaps she could protect someone else.
She knew that the man that she had fallen in love with was of the Green Mantis and so if she could find him she would be able to give a warning so he might be able to protect her better. These were things she would do if the opportunity showed themselves, for now she would wander around and see what this festival had to offer and perhaps have some fun before having to return to her awful reality.
While Fenix was far from a fan of the spooky and scary, he’d been convinced to attend the spirit festival by none other than his one real friend, Haru. He’d spent more than a month designing and sewing his outfit for the event, determined to put in at least a little effort. Haru, similarly, had put it plenty of effort, but he didn’t let his friend see what was planning. He’d said something about meeting Fenix at the festival himself, and now the teen was left to wander around looking for his friend.
Nobody else was even remotely familiar to him in this area, and the redhead found himself increasingly nervous as he avoided any particularly large crowds. Why had he agreed to be dragged into this? He couldn’t handle places this crowded with ease. Sighing, the teen found a wall to lean against for a moment, eyes continuing to search the crowd. Still nothing particularly familiar to him, and definitely not many places within the festival’s bounds that seemed to have few people within. Just how many people of the kingdom had shown up? He spotted everything from magic knights to regular civilians like himself, and everyone was mingling and enjoying the festivities. Seriously, where was the older boy?

Taiyo Vermillion - My Burning Passion is to be the Best!
This will be so exciting. Those were the words of Amaya Ravencrest, Taiyo’s Ravencrest girlfriend. That title, though still new, was well earned. Heck, he went through hell just to get friend status. Did he regret it? No, not one bit. It was worth it and he would do it all again if he had to. Earning that friendship was an accomplishment that he treasured. She understood him and he understood her and that was why they got along so well. Though it took them a while to realize their feelings for each other, when they did, nothing else in that moment mattered. She was now his girlfriend, his Amaya and he wasn’t going to share her with anyone.
Amaya and Taiyo had spent the entire day together before it was time to get going to the spirit festival. When it came time to dress, Taiyo assigned the best of his servants that assisted with clothing to her to help her get ready and to provide her with all her needs. Meanwhile, Taiyo threw on what he had planned to wear. Though he was showing a lot more skin than usual, he was comfortable with it. The real question was if Amaya would be okay with it. After looking at the whole outfit in the mirror, he grinned. He was ready all he needed was his woman at his side. When she was escorted back to where he was and he saw what she was wearing he was in awe. She was the most gorgeous person he had ever seen and this outlined that more. ”You look radiant! You should wear things like this more often at least when it’s just you and me.” He already knew his girlfriend wasn’t a crowd person and that she probably wouldn’t ever wear anything like this again unless it was behind closed doors and he was the only one present. He stepped forward and took her hand and kissed it. ”Ready to get going, milady?” When it came to status, Taiyo didn’t really use it with Amaya. They were simply Taiyo and Amaya. That was it but when it comes to an event like this, he was going to pull out all the stops for her. Taiyo wasn’t one to travel in a carriage but since they were journeying to Hage, he figured it was best. He would have wanted to fly there on a broom but he had to consider Amaya and what would be best for her.
While in the carriage, Taiyo felt uncomfortable since this wasn’t his usual mode of transportation. Even so, he focused on the person beside him, his girlfriend. He couldn’t take his eyes off of her. How could he? Her costume was quite mesmerizing. ”Did I mention that I like what I see? I’m sure everyone will like seeing you in your outfit!” He grinned as he looked at her. ”Not sure I will like that they would be looking at you but I can’t really stop them from looking.” As the carriage took them across the land, Amaya expressed that it was going to be exciting to which her Vermillion boyfriend nodded. ”Yes it will. I wonder who else is going to turn up. Still a bummer that Leona is not going to be able to go this year. Well, no point in thinking about that now. Today is a day for happiness!” He looked out the window and then turned his attention back to her when she said she always loved coming to the spirit festival. ”Yeah, it’s a good event.” Although he said it was supposed to be a day of happiness, he suddenly remembered Cyra and frowned. He missed the Sun Bird but she was gone without a trace. He looked down at the floor of the carriage and left his gaze there.
When the carriage came to a stop and Amaya stepped out, she called for him to get out, noting that the night was young. ”I’m coming, I’m coming.” He stepped out of the carriage and gave her a big grin. ”That seriously looks good on you. Before we head off…” He grabbed her hand and pulled her into him, using one arm to support her back as he leaned down and kissed her. After breaking the kiss, he smirked. ”Much better! Now, milady, where to?” Standing tall and holding his girlfriend’s hand, he would allow her to lead the way. After all, this was a date, right? WC: 763 TWC:

It was autumn, the time of the year where pumpkins and certain strains of apples were ripe for the picking. The ones that were ripe earlier in the year at this point had likely been made into ciders or sauce. This event was certainly at the right time of year, autumn had been accociated with death and monsters for a long time. Having a celebration like this was a good way to lighten spirits. These were thoughts a bit removed from the barons greeting. Maybe there was a thought of it all being superstition and fun, but another part just didn't like the idea of seeing certain dead. Once someone had fallen, they should remain among the dead. There were a few plants that symbolized the dead or death in some way or another, but as far as the young man was aware, pumpkins were not among those plants. It was a fruit of celebration, change, humble beginnings, and autumn. Than again, all plants were innocent to the connotations placed on them, for the most part. There were still valid reasons to avoid or be careful around dangerous plants. Also, plants tended to get certain meanings stuck to them for reasons, even if it doesn't always relate to purely information on a plants properties. It could relate to its colors, the time or season it blooms, the environment it grows in, the scent, or many of the other details.
But these were all details he didn't fully understand, only acknowledge that it existed. People were complicated, as were their relationships with plants and the parts they played in day to day life. Joseph wasn't the type to research mythology and symbolism, so most of the finer details were lost on the golden dawn member. It was the sort of thing that would be interesting to learn, but he was unlikely to personally seek the answers for himself. Wearing costumes were a good way to practice being 'in character' in case stealth is ever needed for a mission in some way. Still, the young man hadn't expected the one he would be wearing to such an event would be so revealing. If Rizpaw hadn't poked and prodded so much verbally, it probably would have been enough to get him to avoid going out all together. Apparently Joseph could handle an island of corpses, swimming through vomit filled water that was infested with deamon minions, and going through Kikka while it was still under lock, but showing off some skin on the wrists and chest was pushing the limits? It was probably good to ask the estate for help with the costume. Despite the embarrassment, the design and colors suited him quite well. His thick curly long hair was tied in a loose ponytail with a brown and deep orange hair tie.
A white coat with gold trimming hung over one shoulder, the fur on the collar resting against his left shoulder. One of is arms had golden colored jewelry on it, the white dress shirt being partially open. His deathly pale pink eyes briefly looked down at the partially exposed chest. It was hard to not let it get to him, face already a bit flushed with embarrassment. The brown vest complimented the bright warm colors of his pale hair and eyes, but it certainly had an adventurous design to its shape. Maybe the earthly colors of the clothing was to make him feel more comfortable? But the jacket was only white and warm coloration. Its underside even had a pattern on it of deep orange and gold in an intricate designs. Nothing looked gaudy, but it was far more lavish looking than he ever expected. Joseph was really hoping this was all costume jewelry, but he had a deep sinking feeling that it wasn't. The dream, tan, and brown colors on the boots had a design to them that looked eager for travel. Would nobles in other countries really dress this way? Well, honestly he could easily imagine it as a truth. This was a good costume, a noble from another country. Their eyes glanced over towards the deer shaped spirit, the tiny deer being perfectly calm as she walked next to the Ravencrests side.
~Well we came for fun, so I'm going to have fun Rizpaw.~ The young man started feeling a bit more calm and confident with the self assurance, their steps continuing towards their current destination goal.

Ryoshi walked into the ground of the spirit festival with a yawn as he stretched a bit, he hadn’t had much time to get changed before coming for this even so the rouge was in his usual attire of white pants and combat boots along with his white coat which during this time of year he had buttoned so he he looked like a traveling noble except for the twin swords on his back which normally never left his side, as he glanced around he noticed quite a few magic knights up and about but then that was no surprise given that if he had heard right the green mantis squad was running the event as well as dealing with security The Aura mage would make sure to keep a low profile as he had heard that there quite a few dangerous mages in this area one was an aura mage like himself and the other was a mage that seemed to use blood and decay both were mages that Ryoshi had no intention of tangling with.
Glancing around Ryoshi wondered if perhaps he might find something or someone useful nearby since quite a crowd had gathered, ‘always so many people at these events and yet the knights cant sniff out a single rogue, still it wont do to get arrogant I don’t intend to get caught but on the same token with so many potential new magic knights it might be worthwhile to find one to turn into a sleeper agent’ he thought to himself as he gained a small smile that looked harmless but hid the true malice the white haired rogue held as he kept glancing around and looking for who would make a good target and who was off limits since he didn’t want to bite off more then he could chew.

Sirius Hasapis - Respect yourself enough to know you deserve better
An enormous number of people have been anticipating this celebration. Sirius included, who appeared to have slept in and missed a significant portion of it. Fortunately, he notices how late he already is when he wakes up and jumps in surprise. It saved him a lot of time to get ready because he had already picked up his clothes. He was dressed in a long-sleeved, fitted black shirt. The dark tint merely draws attention to the eerie white mantle he was wearing on top of everything when worn with his black slacks. He completed his outfit with a pair of sandals because he has always valued comfort over style. “Boo!” He yelled out to his reflection in the mirror as he was rehearsing before choosing his best pitch.
"All set, let's go!" he exclaimed with eagerness just before departing for the festival or whatever was left of it. As soon he arrived his eyes were immediately drawn to the hues, which created a lovely image of joy and pleasure. As he slowly walks amidst the mob, the scene left him speechless. The fact that there were still so many individuals in the area interested him greatly. However, he now finds himself in the middle of the crowd and a little bit bewildered after having been aimlessly roaming.
Even though he is smaller than most people, he can still jump far enough to see everything. In order to finally grasp his location, he jumped as many times as necessary, once, twice, and even three times. After eventually creating a mental map of the area, he made the decision to move toward the region with the greatest concentration of pumpkins. Despite never having carved anything in his life, perhaps he would attempt to create something interesting. Sirius, as stubborn as he is, marched through the big crowd, getting lost a few occasions.
He couldn't help but feel a little homesick as he was moving. As he finally gets there, though, he is shocked by the nostalgia that overtakes him when he sees a mother and a child working together to carve a pumpkin. His expression went dejected, so he made the decision to attempt something completely different. He then stood up and attempted to push back into the mob, but for some reason additional people had congregated there, making it impossible for him to do so. He was forced to move forward and try his hand at pumpkin carving as a result.
As he approached, he saw many of the competitors entering and leaving with completely distinctively carved pumpkins. He yelled out dramatically, "Zero chance!" and kept thinking of reasons to turn around. Instead, he used self-motivation to force himself to try it out. He sighs fatigued from overthinking, "Oh-right. Why am I making such a huge deal out of this. It's only a pumpkin; use the knife to puncture its tough flesh and carve a distinctive design into it.”
A few people panicked when they overheard the young knight talking about knives and flesh and moved away from Sirius. Of course, he was unaware of it. He self-motivated, "Right, Time to kill it!" while the others merely fled from him in confusion. He genuinely expressed concern for the people who ran, saying, "Wah... I wonder if they are okay." After much deliberation, he was finally ready to carve himself a pumpkin and have some fun in the process. Though he expected this attempt to fail, he was determined to keep trying until he succeeded. "I've got this..." He began to repeat to himself in hushed tones. Besides, he was ascertained not to pass up this opportunity.
Ozma moved towards the area in the forsaken region with a rather pensive look on his face, he had just been getting ready to go to hage to enjoy the festivity of the spirit festival when he had recalled how he was still struggling to find where Hinota had gone. He had yet to find her and every day that passed without her raised his anxiety more and more and while he hid it rather well if it wasnt stopped eventually someone was going to know, he was garbed in a very elegant and intricate suit that was black with accents of gold and red on it with boots that matched and a white cravat near his neck. Over his uper body was a coat that went down to almost his ankles with the same red and gold accents across the dark material though near the shoulders there was fur and gold spiked paldrons, a black and red cape seemed to flow and shift behind him as he walked as well. What finished it was the grimoire at his side along with his Jian which he was never without.
Glancing around the Lion saw the normal members of green mantis running security like usual for the event while also seeing a few faces he had never seen before, oddly enough there was also no sign of any crimson lions here besides him but that didnt surprise him since they were always rather busy guarding the prison or running patrols around the royal capital.Ozma honestly believed that the fact that the golden dawn and crimson lions were stationed there was the reason why most didnt cause trouble, turning after the captain had made his speech Ozma decided to see what there was to do.

Leonora Sighed landing on the Festival grounds. She have arrived late but then again it was better then not showing up. She originally had no intention of even participating in the spirit festival. the whole getting together and creating memories thing wasn't for her. She wasn't a people person. These events required being around and acknowledging people;. However, she was only here because her younger brother kea asked her to join him.
When it came to family she could be as bright and excited as most, however if there was one person she wasn't going to refuse in the world was her oddball brother Kea. "Why did I agree to be here." She grumbled to herself pulling off a put together outfit that actually fit her better then she expected. She chose a old magenta dress she wore ages ago, finding it still fit her before just going to town cutting it up to be shorter till it was to an okay length before finding a belt she felt went wit the dress. She adjusted the large feather lined cloak over her shoulder, adjusting the hood with the fake ears she had managed to put together without much effort. To tie it all together she found a old Bird skull from Leona's various piles of bones and what not from her hunts. "Now where is my brother...Probably wandered off before me."She grumbled in thought with a sigh.
