The elders of the seabed village all clapped at the group's performances...it seemed as though The group walked about the village, the many people crowded them looking excited and while some indulged the citizens of the seabed...others did not, a huge let down for a few of citizens that flocked to the group. Elder Hach would soon run them off as the party would begin asking questions; the first one coming from the one wearing a very drab looking green color. Her question was of the place that they found. The rumor was that they discovered Atlantis had indeed been thrown into the wind. With a sigh Hach held up a hand as if to signal for the party to stop, he turned to Artemis with a smile. ”Atlantis is not a myth to us...our people have known it sits below us for generations…but with no way to get to it, even our own attempts at trying to dig we found absolutely nothing...the stories told above the water are only speculations, fantasies derived from story. Nothing more...” He answered Artemis before continuing to walk. The Crimson Lion woman spoke next, asking about monsters that lurk in the depths. It was a general question, but Elder Hatch fielded the question again as he continued to walk. ”The creatures that roam the depths around here range from typical sea life...to twisted mana beasts that some might consider abominations. We have grown to respect them, but as to what has been already told to you by your two employers here...we don’t know what is in the depression...just that it is dangerous enough that Dio lost an entire party of you magic knights just in the entrance…” The Elder spoke as he gave a subtle warning with his words. Hach was Aris’s liaison here in the deep and he also was the reason that the Magic Knights were allowed to enter...after all The seabed stood to be the one taking the most risk here.
A low rumble moved underneath the group's feet. Plates shifting? Something approaching?
The one dressed in the dress, with the black cloak was the next, though she was rather more inquisitive of their culture and he curiosity honestly piqued Hatch’s interests. ”That is actually a wonderful question, our magic is different from those of the surface as most of us utilize water types of magic, and our grimoires have no cover like yours...as for the guardians, that is the name of our defensive forces that are trained inside the Water Temple. They are experts of various liquid magical elements and a few even washed up here from places unknown and with no memory so they serve as protectors for us. If you would like to know more...once this whole ordeal is done you are welcome to come back and learn from us for an extended period of time.” Hatch said as he offered the black cloaked female, she was so far the only one to inquire about the seabed village itself and its people. Finally the last one wearing the golden robe asked about Diamond’s occupation in the area and at the depression inside the temple. Hatch was about to answer when Dio interrupted. ” The Diamond occupation was a pain for all of the villagers here...They would rather not speak of it...however, the depression seems to have caused tremors to begin to course through the area. IF we can stop this, then we might be able to have these people return to a normal life without the issues they currently face.”. Dio cuts to the chase as the Elder and Aria would go their way once they reached the temple.
”Let us get a move on...the longer we spend here, the less time we have to explore The possible site of Atlantis.”. Dio would say as he would lead the group down into the Water Temple. The place was gorgeous, different paths and areas that simulated environments that were usually not native to the seabed were found here, wandering mana beasts seemed to pay the group no mind...in fact they actively steered away as you all would round certain paths with Dio in the lead...then after about five minutes the group arrives to the depression. Dio would grab a torch from the floor before striking it on the ground causing sparks and a flame to rise up. The dark path downward lied ahead. Dio would lead them through the passage.
The group would arrive to the landing platform, a great open area in front of them...something that shouldn’t exist here. The sky above was just rock, yet there were thousands of glowing crystals on buildings and outcroppings of the cave. Below them a great chasm that seemed to have no end. Various waterfalls around the chasm added to the majestic scenery. It was scary, yet beautiful.
Dio would chuckle a bit, and the group would not know it, but the door behind them would vanish as the orichalculm passageway would be gone...no evidence of it ever being there. Dio would turn to keep up his act, going to the place where the door was and finding that it was gone...no indentation...no creases...nothing. He would position himself back on the landing, against the edge of the great chasm. He would laugh for a moment that would also simultaneously sound like sobbing...as creepy as it is, what should really alarm the group is the dark aura now emitting from Dio’s body.
A sense of dread would spread suddenly from Dio as the epicenter (players can attack Dio here if they wish, but when they do they will suffer a spell rebound of equal power.) Dio will begin speaking in a two toned voice as if he had never met the players before.
well it has been a long time since such a great source of mana has appeared before me...good...good, since I am about to turn you all into the last bit of energy I need to revive myself...it would be a waste to let you go without knowing what your being sacrificed for. I’ll allow you each one question.” the being that was now Dio said as he would begin to float, moving over the chasm.
Once the players have all asked, tired to fight, or even try to escape...they will be answered and then the landing platform they all stand on will be dropped into the chasm...causing a fade to black for all characters in the adventure...you are not dead...yet.
The word count for this should be around 1,500 words or less.
[attr="class","florencetext"] Lydia would look towards the elder as he seemed to be the one answering the questions for now. The glass mage however didn't know much about Atlantis so she really wasn't able to follow what he was saying the whole time. It did make sense that the people of the water temple would know more about the lost city than anyone else after all they lived under the sea and if the man was telling the truth the lost city was underneath them. As her question started to get answered she would turn to look at Dio it was clear to her that no normal mana beast could have taken out all of the magic knights unless they were new knights who didn't have much combat training. The fact that Dio was the only one who survived and still kept quite about it made the vice captain trust him even less. As the rest of the questions got answered they would have some useful information for the mages. However it seemed Dio was in a hurry to get moving so she would follow the man as he lead them down deeper. [break][break] As they reached the a landing platform Lydia would look around the room it seemed that it wasn't natural and perhaps it wasn't however her focus would turn back behind were the came from were she noticed Dio now was. The door seemed to have vanished however that didn't seem to be the only problem the four magic knights had on there hands. As she picked up the dark aura seemed to be coming from Dio. The glass mage would step forwards towards the man putting herself in front of Artemis and the rest of the group. She would then open her grimoire. Light Magic: Balmung As the light sword appeared in her hand she would just wait as she didn't plan on attacking just yet it was more in case the man attacked them. After the others reacted and the man answered the questions asked if they asked any if he chose to answer them. Lydia would feel the platform fall from underneath them her vision going black as they fell.

[attr=class, cyrustext]Cyrus listened with great interest as the elder happily answered all of their questions whilst they made their way to the temple, all up until it came time for his own question. At that point Dio cut the man off, choosing to answer it himself. While the response he provided seemed logical enough, Cyrus couldn't help but find the cutoff strange. After all, wouldn't the elder be the best person to answer such a question? Maybe he just wanted to get their mission over and done with, but still something seemed... off, to the sap wizard. Ever since the report about how he was the only survivor of their group despite facing some sort of beast or monster. As Aria and the elder left, Cyrus cast a glance at the rest of the party. While he didn't know her very well, he felt as though Lydia at least seemed to also be wary of the man. A look at his partner confirmed she was uneasy as well, but they continued to follow.
It was not much longer before the party found themselves in the temple, and immediately alarm bells seemed to be ringing in his head the instant the door appeared to have vanished. A dark aura began to surround their guide, who seemed to begin speaking with two voices at once. He spoke, the being's words confirming his suspicions that they had been lured into a trap but also offering them each a chance to answer a single question.
The Crimson Lion mage deigned not to ask hers, instead brandishing a sword made from her light magic. Cyrus had a similar reaction, immediately casting a defensive ward around the party. "Syrup Shroud!" He called out, a mass of sap reaching out to each of his allies before fading into an amber aura around them. He kept his attention on the figure before them. "What about the elder and Aria? Are they both in on this?!" He asked, weary of such a possibility. If so, them being trapped in here was even worse; the citizens could be in more danger.
Before he could do anything else however, the floor suddenly fell out from under them and the party fell to the depths below. Hama, still floating above the chasm, stared down. "Cyrus!" She called out, worried for her friend. She spared less than a moment to glare at the figure and curse before chasing after the others. "You shitty rotten bastard, don't think this is over just yet!" She warned him as she flew down, disappearing into the darkness.

[attr="class, cyrusstats] Combat Notes Cyrus cast Syrup Shroud on himself and the others. Unfortunately it does not allow them to fly.
Description: By casting this spell, Cyrus summons a mass of sap that quickly takes on the shape of a castle wall before hardening into a shifting amber-colored aura around Cyrus or his allies, defending them from enemy attacks. On casting, this spell will provide Cyrus with a +9 Durability buff. This defense can fully restore its lost health so long as it is not entirely destroyed, up to three times per casting. Sufficient Control will also allow him to create multiple barriers for different targets.
Artemis would look around the area they had been traversing. The wonders of this place never ceased to amaze her, and with each and every step, she found herself feeling more at home than when she traveled back to Hapshass, the Somerset Family seat of power. There was something about his place that called to her mana, most likely the latent water magic that surrounded the place. She could feel it dancing around, and her magic would sing in turn. Though, for the most part, her face was a flat affect as was her demeanour. No matter how excited, nor how high her emotions were, she never let up the single emotional stance she always held during specific missions like these: apathy. [break][break]
And then, everything started to go south for the group. [break][break]
Artemis saw Lydia already summoning some sort of weapon. Cyrus as well had casted some sort of defensive spell, while their other companion, Rosalia, might have been getting ready to do something herself. She was tempted to do so as well, though she knew that it would be best to stay calm. Dio seemed to change, his once personality has now turned one hundred and eighty degrees. There was an edge to his voice, something that told Artemis that this was not a man they wanted to fight haphazardly. They needed to tread carefully, and it seems as though the man himself was not in a hurry to engage them in battle. [break][break]
“Since you’re allowing us one question each, then here’s mine.” Artemis would start, though her hand was already hovering over the satchel that held her grimoire, ready for a fight if need be. “Who are you?” She would ask. Maybe if they can get a sense of who they were fighting, then they might be able to find an advantage over their opponent. [break][break]
What happened after, however, Artemis could not remember.
Rosalia’s eyes would widen at the offer bestowed upon her by the elder of this unknown civilization. Her hues would scan over the man’s face before glancing around the place as her inner nerd danced in its secret nerd closet. She had the permission to, at some point come back and stay for a while to study the underwater temple and its culture. [break][break] “I-I that would be an honor. Perhaps…when the exploration of Atlantis is over, and if I can manage to find a month or so to spare from Magic Knight work. I’ll send a message in advance to you, if that will suffice?” The beauty lost her composure for a bit when her thoughts jumped back to a very specific male who had particular concerns about Rosalia’s coming on this expedition. She’d rather go home directly after this mission was over than stay and worry him further. Perhaps in the future… She bowed to the Elder when he left them.
[break][break] As Dio led the group through the passage, the red-haired woman eyes everything warily, and then lets out an audible gasp at the underground city that reveals itself before them. Woah. She didn’t seem to have proper sense of the situation when she heard Dio’s creepy chuckle and turned to face him. Of course this was a fucking trap. The beauty’s lips parted when he stated that they were all allowed a question. The only entrance into the place…it was gone…
[break][break] Her mana flared up as her gaze turned icy. Rosalia didn’t like this at all. The woman glanced over at her allies before pursing her lips, trying to ignore the nerves and fear that was eating at her heels. They were fucked, and not in the good way.
[break][break] “What really…is this place?” She’d hiss out, keeping a hand on her grimoire. At least he wasn’t hot. The witch would wait for his answer, preparing for anything, but not able to react in time for the sudden destruction of the platform…and she blacked out.

Dio looked at the two of them...they looked ready to fight and he smiled as the landing platform began to give way. He noticed the Red cloaked female step forward and cast a spell. “funny...The one you call Dio tried that as well...perhaps you would be a better...younger vessel…” He said as the Golden cloaked one spoke next. ”The Elders...those fools don’t even know that I have been under their feet this entire time...Dio was merely a pawn...he gave himself up the first time he was here and when I planted the info in his head...gold...glory...conquest. Greedy humans are always the same…” He spoke in that same two toned voice to the male as Dio flashed that creepy smile, his eyes totally black now. The second person, the green cloaked one asked who he was. ”I am nothing...the darkness that infects the very existence of the human mind...I am the plagues that kill your crops, the murderer’s that kill your children...I am the one that will bleed your mana dry...my name is not needed in your human language...may you find it in the afterlife” Finally the last female in the black cloak spoke...She asked what this place was as Dio just laughed maniacly. "This place is your tomb...looks like your promise to come back will be kept after all seeing as you won’t be leaving…”He spoke before holding up a hand…
”Ta-Ta!” The possessed Dio would say before his eyes would turn back to normal...the man he once was saw the Magic Knights falling into the chasm as he screamed out in agony and despair…
Hama was left for a moment before Dio was taken possession of again, pointing at the fairy looking creature he would just say ”Snap!” And Hama would not only black out, but whenever the party wakes up next...she will be gone from the plane of existence...and Cyrus will be unable to summon her for 3 posts.
The party wakes up, being dragged by eight of the Atlantean guardians by way of a small raft. Their hands are bound and their grimoires are currently not within their reach. The players may attempt to talk to the creatures, but these creatures do not speak the common language of humans, any elf in the party will be able to recognize their language and if they speak to the guardians , they will respond in kind until they reach a base camp.
The party can choose to attack the guardians here, or leave them be. The guardians are normal in size with Grand Rank Health, movement speed of 25 meters per second, and Grand power and will attack with their orichalculm weapons if provoked.
I will be watching for Meta gaming in this encounter as it is optional in nature...if the players attack the combat will happen...if they do not then the players will have to meet the word count
The word count for this should be around 1,500 words or less.

[attr="class","florencetext"] As Dio looked at the glass mage and spoke to her she'd just give me a cold look before speaking. I think I'll pass I'm not into being enslaved. Luckily it seemed the elder and the others weren't in on the plan. At least if the thing talking through Dio could be believed that is which wasn't something she was one hundred percent counting on at the moment. The vice captain wasn't sure what it meant by the last part but it clearly wasn't something good. As Lydia woke back up she was still alive at least she assumed this wasn't the after life. However she could tell her hands were bound tightly at that which meant she wouldn't be able to break out of them. Things got worse however once she realized that she didn't have her grimoire as well. [break][break] She would look around at what seemed to be like mana beast yet they also looked humanoid. She would quickly count eight of them and they all had weapons which meant fighting without magic was out of the question given the fact the creatures not only had weapons but the four magic knights hands were bound. She also took into account that Cyrus and Rosa might to be great in a fist fight. The pink haired mage would look for Artemis and once she found her Lydia would make her way over to the women grabbing her partners hands before meeting her gaze. You aren't hurt are you? Once the water mage answered the question the vice captain would turn to face the other two and give her plan to see what the others wanted to do. I'm not going to lie things aren't looking great of us we have no idea where we are I don't have my grimoire so I assume that means the rest of you don't either. However it doesn't seem like the creatures are hostile as they didn't kill us while we're knocked out. So I'd guess they are most likely taking us back to where they live. [break][break] What they do after that I don't know maybe they plan to kill us then or perhaps they'll help us. Either way we should be ready for a fight. If it comes down to it try and get your grimoires as soon as the fighting breaks out. We can't take all eight of them out without magic when they have weapons. Of course if anyone else has another idea I'm open to suggestions.

[attr=class, cyrustext]The mysterious force possessing Dio (or was it perhaps impersonating him, Cyrus wondered in the back of his mind) seemed amused by he and Lydia's preparations to fight against it. The words directed at the Crimson Lion mage made the sap wizard's skin crawl, while the answer to his own question sent his thoughts into a furious frenzy. He claimed that the Elders had no clue as to his presence, or even existence, but could that be true? He had no reason to believe that this... thing was telling the truth, but the possibility of it was at least something of a distant comfort. As the party fell down the pit towards whatever fate awaited them below, Cyrus stared up at the quickly disappearing ceiling above where he could faintly see the familiar glow of his spirit companion. But after a moment, the last thing he felt before blacking out was the sensation of something being... severed.
Cyrus came to some time later, feeling what vaguely called to mind the shifting of water beneath him. He was on some sort of vessel, he gathered as his vision returned. He remained still, not wanting to move until he was certain it was safe to. An abrasive touch on his wrists told him that his hands were tied together, and as he shifted to try and adjust his position he realized that his grimoire was not with him. A voice caught his ear, and he looked over. Lydia was awake as well, checking on the others. He concentrated as the Vice Captain gave her appraisal of the current situation, trying to reach out to Hama. But it was like groping in the darkness; he felt as though she was there, but just beyond his reach. It felt lonely. Lydia asked he and the rest of their opinion on how they should proceed. Seeing as she had been able to approach Artemis, Cyrus rolled onto his back and then sat up, taking a look at their captors. Just as she had said, they didn't seem to be hostile for the moment. But as far as he could recall, Cyrus couldn't remember ever reading about creatures such as these.
"We shouldn't force a fight if they aren't." He weighed in with his opinion. "I can't seem to call out Hama. And I may not have any sensory abilities anymore, but just looking at these guys I think that it would be a bad move; barehanded or with our magic if we can get our grimoires, we're on the water. And I think it's safe to say that this is their turf. Besides, I'm not much good for anything outside of spells besides taking a hit defensively, Four against eight isn't good odds when we don't know what the full situation is."
Cyrus looked over at their guards again. He was silent for a moment. "Excuse me." He said cautiously, repositioning so that his legs were crossed in front of him. "Do you people... understand us? Do you know what we're saying?" It was worth a shot, attempting to communicate. Like Lydia said, these creatures could have easily killed them while they were asleep, but chose not to.
Artemis would remember little of the encounter. From what she could discern as she started coming to, the man, or at least the spirit that had possessed Dio, seemed to be spouting about him being the darkness. Or was it and it? She would shake her head, trying to clear the cobwebs in her brain. From what she remembered after Dio’s spiel, they had fallen. [break][break]
Black, pitch dark blackness had enveloped Artemis. It was the last thing she could remember, before waking up to this. Movement? Artemis would blink a few times, her eyesight was still fuzzy, while her ears were ringing. It seems that their fall had definitely affected her. She started moving her body, slowly but surely checking to see if anything was broken. Surprisingly, she felt fine. Sore, for the most part, but there seemed to be nothing broken. Her back was aching just a little, while her arm, which had been the one her body weight had been resting on, felt like a thousand pin needles were attacking it. It seems that it had fallen asleep, and the circulation was just starting to come back.[break][break]
“Hm,” Artemis would grunt, as she shifted just a little, to look around. It was when she heard the voices of her team mates close by. Lydia was first, asking her if she was fine, to which she answered, “I’m fine, Lydia. Sore, but fine. How about you?” Artemis then looked around, realizing that they were being hauled by mermish people. At least, they looked mermish. Lydia and Cyrus would both discuss and give their viewpoints on what they should do. Truly, Artemis was not one to fight when it was not due. There was little they can do without magic, and even though she knew that her strength rivaled low level spells, she knew it might not do them well with this situation. Outnumbered, and outgunned, they were technically at the mercy of their captors.[break][break]
“You’re both right. There is nothing for it. It’s best that we ride this out, and see what they want with us.” Artemis shook her head, “We could have been easily killed by them when we were knocked out and unconscious. I wonder…” She would trail off, before looking towards one of their captors.[break][break]
“Where are you taking us?” She would ask one of the mer-people, or whatever they were. “I mean no offense, but rather, I am just curious.” Artemis knew that if worse came to worse, she would fight them. For now, however, the only threat she could see was that she did not have her grimoire, and they were technically taken captive. Even powerless, she would not give in, not without a fight.
Rosalia’s eyes widened when she realized that whatever that thing inside of Dio’s head was could read her mind. Her promise…she bit her bottom lip as she thought back to her Captain quietly. The grip on her grimoire tightened. For the first time in a while, the red-haired female felt the fear gripping onto the soles of her shoes climb higher and tickle her knees. Her tomb…She was too young and too sexually active to let that be the case. A little smile cracked onto her lips at this dire situation. Of course, her sense of humor would be what gets her through the day. She knew that Dio would hear her too, so she tilted her head at him with a grin. Sorry buddy, no dying for me, I’m gonna keep that promise. [break][break] --------- [break][break] The red-haired witch liked her sleep, but she usually preferred it without the palpitating pain in her head. It made her groan. She could hear voices around her, familiar ones, but she just didn’t feel like listening. Rosalia tried to snuggle up to the closest thing next to her, before realizing that she couldn’t really move her hands. Her eyes shot open and she looked around her. [break][break] “And here I thought this was a fucking nightmare.” She hissed as she looked around at her partners, then back at the blue men that surrounded them. They weren’t exactly unattractive, but not being able to use her hands, albeit kinky…well she wasn’t in the mood for it.

The guardians were talking amongst themselves, speaking in hushed tones, those that could speak elvish could hear them speak about the ones that they captured. ”IF we bring them to the Elders...we might be able to get some better equipment for hunting...or better...they might tell us some stories about the time before the rifts…” ”Or...we could just cook them...they look edible enough, and if those books with the funny scribbles mean anything we might get taught some new skills…” The two squabble for a moment, the six others that were in the group did not say much, but kept their eyes on the prisoners as they transported them.
The questions that the group began to ask of the guardians was...a rapid fire of things in which the guardians just wanted to hush them. The first one asked if they could understand them, an answer that was not really answered in full but they grunted and referred to the captured as using “common tongue”. The green cloaked female also spoke using the common tongue and asked for answers, to which they just did not reply...they felt themselves to be beneath the Atlanteans. All in all the Guardians knew the group to be awake and were now on guard as they crested over a steppe and into a rocky bottomed out area of the chasm. Their destination in sight as a large glow of light could be seen, but yet what was so close...was still so far away.
After a moment the one that appeared to be the leader spoke up and looked at them... "By chance do you all come from the surface? How did you get here? Do you understand what we are saying?"
Pretty plain here you all. You are simply asked these questions, it will resolve in either a pass...or combat will initiate on the next turn. You can take initiative and attack barehanded and try to recover your grimoires...or you do nothing and enjoy the ride...completely up to you. The WC minimum is none this round, so soak it up or play it fast. There is no time limit this round either.

[attr="class","florencetext"] As Artemis told Lydia she was fine but just a little sore before asking if the vice captain was fine Lydia would give her a smile. Well the best smile someone could give while being held as basically a prisoner. Yeah I'm fine as far as I can tell. She would listen as the others gave there view on the matter well those who did anyway as Rosa didn't speak about it. Perhaps she was still thinking on the matter or maybe she trusted the others plan. It seemed for now the group was just along for a ride as they really couldn't do much else. However as the blue men started to speak Lydia was able to understand and recognize that it was Elvish. It was something she learned how to speak back where she first found out about her elf blood and it seemed learning it had finally paid off. [break][break] The vice captain didn't say anything about what the first two were talking about after all it didn't seem like they were going to ask the four magic knights there thoughts on the matter. However once what seemed to be there leader spoke asking them questions the glass mage would be the first one to answer after all she didn't know if the others were able to understand what he was saying let alone speak back in the same language. The vice captain would of course answer back in elvish. Yes I can understand you I however can't speak of the others on that matter. Yes we do come from surface we are magic knights. As for how we got down here I'm not really sure. We were hired by a fellow magic knight to explore a site he claimed would help find Atlantis. However it seemed something had took over his body and it spoke with us when we were on a landing above a chasm. After that all I remember if falling down into it as the landing broke beneath our feet and then I woke up on this raft with you guys. If you don't mind me asking where are we?

[attr=class, cyrustext]Cyrus shifted as he closed his eyes while the others spoke to each other on what to do, still trying to see if he could somehow contact Hama. The fact that he couldn't was stressing him out; besides simply being concerned for his dear friend, it also felt unnaturally quiet without her around. Over the past few months Cyrus had grown accustomed to her constant presence, and the two spent a majority of their free time just chatting away. It felt as though an important piece of him was missing, and he needed to find it again.
As he concentrated, still finding no success as of yet, Cyrus' ears perked up at the sound of two unfamiliar voices speaking a strange language. Obviously it was the strange people who had taken them prisoner, so he was prepared to simply ignore it... only to then realize that he could understand them once he started to pay attention. He watched them closely, only able to catch every other word or so due to their hushed tones. He heard them refer to what he assumed was their own language as "common tongue".
One of their captors then spoke directly to them, the apparent leader, asking if they were from the surface. Lydia responded, much to his surprise, in the same language. And once more, he could understand her perfectly. It felt familiar, but only distantly so; like a dream one could only faintly recall. But hearing her speak it in a more familiar accent, it finally dawned on him; they were speaking elvish! He had read up on the language during his studies, but that still didn't explain how he could understand it so clearly. "I can understand you all as well. Though I am not sure exactly how." He confirmed once Lydia filled the fish people in on why they were here, speaking a bit slowly since he wasn't used to actually speaking the language.
Once Lydia had asked where they were, he considered if there was something he could add. His thoughts turned to what he had overheard the other two talking about. "I heard one of your people mention 'rifts' a moment ago. What sort of matter is that? Physical, like a divide? Magical? Or perhaps a social schism?" Maybe it was an odd question to ask in their current situation, but it was hard for him to help himself; Cyrus had a thirst for knowledge, and it wasn't every day that you meet an entirely new race of people.
Artemis would listen in on the creatures’ conversation. She was not sure how she understood their speech, but she did none the less. From what she could understand, these mermen seemed to be just as curious of them as they are of the creatures. At least, one of them was. The other seemed to be more intrigued if they could be cooked as food, and if their Grimoires could possibly give them powers. Artemis had no answer for either, though she was sure that she did not want to get eaten. She was still young, and death was nowhere in her list of life goals. So, for the sake of their survival, Artemis would not lash out like how her adrenaline was telling her to. No, she needed to calm down, and go exercise her meditation skills as needed.[break][break]
Lydia was alright, it seems, which was the most important thing for her aside from their group’s mutual survival. From the looks of it, Cyrus was dealing well, though he seemed to be missing his companion, the floating spirit that had been with them since the beginning. Artemis was not sure what to tell the young man, so she did the next best thing and said nothing at all. And then there was Rosalia from the Black Bulls, who seemed to be just fine, especially after hearing her cursing their current predicament.[break][break]
Artemis understood where the woman was coming from. Even she was unhappy with their current situation, though she knew that there was nothing they could do at the moment. They were currently at the mercy of their captors, and the spirits could only know where they were and where they were headed towards. If anything, even if they win a fight against their captors, they would still be lost underwater. With no knowledge of where they are, they would never be able to find their way back to land. Even worse still, there could be other creatures down below that were ready to take them at a moment's notice. They were definitely at a disadvantage at this point, and so Artemis would stay quiet, and close her eyes. [break][break]
Ki was a skill that she had mastered recently, and with it, she was able to get a feel of the life energies around her. She practiced it now, calming her nerves as she tracked the creatures that had them as captives, tracked the flow of the currents around them, and even the slight movements of her group mates. Having something to preoccupy herself with calmed her down, and made sure she was able to think clearly. [break][break]
A mistake can make them all into corpses.[break][break]
Then her companions spoke, answering the question of one of their captors. Artemis would listen, as Lydia answered first, and Cyrus would ask questions in return. She herself was unsure of what to say, though she knew that this was their chance to ask questions.[break][break]
With the small amount of Elvish that she had been able to learn from her research on her skin markings, Artemis strung a barely coherent sentence, “I can understand you as well. As my companion has said, we’re Magic Knights who were invited here, yet seemed to have been led to a trap by an entity that had possessed one of the leaders of the group. We fell, and I suppose you all found us.” She would explain, though her Elvish was most likely broken. She hoped that the mermen would not try to fight them, especially since she was not looking forward to an all out fist fight without their grimoires.
Rosalia would hear the blue men and women begin discussing something in a language that sounded very…twirly? Spaghetti? Being a commoner meant that she didn’t get any education outside of the basic reading and writing of Common. All she was taught back at her house was how to cook, clean and follow instructions of men from the opposite gender. Thinking back to it now, it made her want to puke. Having to hide on the roof at night to practice magic. Reading books once she was done with her daily assignments to escape how unhappy she was as a child. [break][break] It made her a little bit jealous that the others could speak a different language than her, she wouldn’t lie. But she was also grateful that they weren’t at least, completely doomed in communication with these things that carried them and had rendered them useless. Perhaps she could ask Lydia, Cyrus or Artemis to teach her whatever language that was once they were all done.
[break][break] “I have absolutely no clue what language that is or what you’re saying…but please don’t get us killed.” The beauty said with a little sigh. If it came down to this, she’d never forgive herself for dying because of not understanding whatever spaghetti they were speaking. “Can you tell them we’re not here to be harmful to them or their kind?” And that she had a promise to keep so she couldn’t become fish food. She wanted to freeze those damn ropes over her hands and snap them open. She probably could if she tried, but that might make those weird blue people see her in a negative light.
[break][break] God, she fucking hated, HATED not being able to do anything. Maybe she’d ask Zaven to teach her languages once she was out. If she got out. Dammit she wanted to murder someone so bad. She was angry. It took every ounce of control for her mana not to flare up and drop the temperature around them to the zeros. The red-head hated being tied down more than anything in the world. Her freedom was the one thing she loved more than life itself…but she promised not to die. She promised to come back home safely.
[break][break] Rosalia bit her bottom lip and exhaled loudly. These humanoids were sentient at the very least. If she could propose sleeping with them for freedom, she would without a second though (so perhaps it was for the best that the Black Bull member didn’t know the language in the first place.)

Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry's standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged. It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.
