The guardians were talking amongst themselves, speaking in hushed tones, those that could speak up did so, but it seemed as though the Dry Skinned humans had indeed come from somewhere other than Atlantis proper. They did not release them just yet as the questioning continued. The Atlantean guardians were given the answers they seemed to coincide with the last group that fell down here, so in turn when the group asked in return, a simple give and take moment will ensue if you will.
”This thing you speak of...is the being that ruined the way of life for the people of Atlantis...it was a creation of our own making, and the very demise of ours as well...the Elder’s will tell you more...As for what he is doing...I have no idea, and even the elders may be at a loss...as it is, we are fighting down here to just live and not die out...you could say that your coming here...was either good or bad timing. We can see that you are relatively harmless, or at least without the ability to attack without the books you keep eyeing...I will hold on to these for now”
The Guardian would put away his spear, picking up the grimoires before whistling to the group as they would at least cut the black cloaked woman and the green cloaked woman free, but tell them to remain on the cary, along with the others. Afterwards the group would begin moving at an astonishingly quick pace, probably even faster than most mages the two have seen above the water’s surface.
An hour later the group would arrive at Shells Refuge A place the Atlanteans currently know as the hub of their species and their great home.
The Atlantean guardians are a part of a multi-tribal union where the beings that have been locked away for an unfathomable amount of time with the great city. A shell of what their ancestors were. After the brief incident with the first encounter the party will be brought to the Council’s home. A place at the top of crowded modern looking cityscape that is at the bottom of the chasm. The lighting here is dim and it looks to be coming from the same torches from the stairway at the Water temple. The players are then sat down in front of the three elders; Tskumi, Kariko, and Juun.
This part of the journey is where the meat of the adventure will begin to take place. The group is available to ask at most two questions of the three elders...as a collective, not each person or each elder. Your two questions will be answered in their fullest capacity before moving on. This section of the adventure should be about 2,000 words Max.
[attr="class","florencetext"] It seemed that guardians where fine with the answer for the most part as they didn't kill them at least not yet if they were still planning on it. As Rosa spoke up letting the others know she had no idea what they were saying the vice captain wasn't surprised. It not that she thought the black bull was less intelligent than the rest of them it was more of the fact the elvish was a rare langue to speak in the first place. The fact that three out of the four of them spoke was a supine itself. As the guardians spoke it seemed like they really didn't answer any of the questions the magic knight asked. However it seemed they explained more on whatever the hell Dio was know not that most of it even helped them. Lydia figure it might have been the first group of magic knights that joined Dio but she wasn't going to ask after all they didn't seem like they type to answer very many questions. [break][break] Seeing as how the red haired mage was unable to understand what was going on the glass mage would fill her in. It doesn't seem like they are going to us. Apparently whatever took over Dio ruined the life for the people of Atlantis and was made by there own hand. They also know we can't fight back without our grimoires and are keeping them for now. As the guardians came close to the water mage Lydia would watch the closely as they cut her and Rosa free. However it seemed like they didn't trust Cyrus or her enough to cut them free. Seeing as there wasn't much to do besides wait Lydia would close her eyes until they arrived at the place. [break][break] As they were lead to the elders house the glass mage would look around the dim lit town. From what she could tell it was a hub town. As they entered the room with the elder Lydia would look at the three people two of which looked to be elves while the last one was human. She would however not speak.

[attr=class, cyrustext]Cyrus glanced over at Rosalia and Artemis, taking note of the fact that the former was not able to understand the language spoken by their amphibious captors, though the latter could (although judging by the way she spoke, it seemed she was unaccustomed to it like he himself). The Atlanteans spoke again, this time on the subject of the mysterious entity that had put the group of Magic Knights in their current predicament in the first place. Cyrus pulled his knees up and rested his chin on them as he listened to the speaking creature's summary of what they knew about the strange being. The mention of their peoples' elders caught his ear, and he watched as Lydia translated things for Rosalia since she couldn't understand what they were saying.
"A creation of their own making..." Cyrus wondered quietly, glancing at the rest of their party. The news that their arrival might be seen as a good thing or a bad one made him curious as well, but he decided not to comment on the matter; it would be best to behave so long as they weren't in any immediate danger, which seemed to be the case for now. Oddly, he noticed that Rosalia and Artemis were both freed of their bindings but he and Lydia were not. Were they perceived as more of a threat? Or could it just be an attempt to show them some good will by giving a couple of them a bit of leeway? Whichever the case was, he decided to focus instead on continuing to reach out to Hama. For the next hour as the boat sped across the water, he sat on his knees with his eyes closed, concentrating on the faintly familiar presence that he could feel just on the edge of his mind. It was hard to fully focus though, with how choppy the water was due to how fast they were going. Once they reached the settlement, he rose from his position at the urging of the water dwellers.
The group was led through the hub town, which to the young noble had something of a ramshackle vibe to it. Eventually they were brought before the three elders, who Cyrus was surprised to see were not fish-like people as the rest of the inhabitants were. One seemed to be human, with the other two appearing to have elven blood. He looked to the others, seeing that none of them were speaking yet. The words of the Atlantean earlier came to mind, and Cyrus took a deep breath before raising his head to speak to the elders.
"Elders of Atlantis, thank you for providing us with the chance to speak to you. My name is Cyrus of the Magic Knights, Golden Dawn squad. This is Lydia, Vice Captain of the Crimson Lion squad, Artemis of the Green Mantis squad, and Rosalia of the Black Bulls. I feel as though I have to ask about something we were told upon being captured; while we were being brought here, one of the guards mentioned that this... entity that has been ruining things around here was of your peoples' own making. What exactly is the story behind it, if I may be so bold?"
Artemis would listen to the explanation of these mer-people of something they called ‘their own creation’. It had not made sense from her stand point. Information was missing, and while she knew that this thing seemed to be a source of fear for these beings, she just could not wrap her head around the fact that the immense power she had felt was man made. Of course, she could be wrong, and they had been talking about something else entirely. But for now, she would just listen, and learn about these mer-people as much as she could. Besides, her Ki sensing had been proving to be very useful. For the most part, she had been expanding her senses, keeping an eye on any other potential threats, as well as keeping her adrenaline in check. [break][break]
Then, she realized that she was being untied for some reason. Artemis glanced at Lydia, and saw that she was not given the same accord. In fact, only her and Rosalia were untied. With a glance to Lydia, she shook her head in the most subtle way, sending her a signal that made sure she did not do anything that might cause these beings to think they were being aggressive. She knew just how strong-willed Lydia was, but this was a time to be very cautious.[break][break]
They were led through what seemed to be a city, which Artemis gazed at in wonder. They were definitely far below, since they had fallen down into a hole. So for this city to exist underneath even the low seabed where they had first arrived in was astonishing. She would take everything, as they were slowly led towards a house at the upper reaches of the city. Artemis had been busy looking at the sights and had missed their whole trip, though as they were now situated in front of three different individuals that looked like leaders in their own right, she brought herself back to the situation.[break][break]
“We come in peace, though in a circumstance that is less favourable. It seems as though we encountered a creature that had possessed one of our guides, which led us here.” She would start, though unsure what else to say, or even ask. “While possessed, the man is still one of us, and so any information would be useful.” Artemis supposed it was not a question, and more of a statement. She would wait now, hoping that these three leaders were more hospitable than the guards that had tied up and brought them here.
Rosalia was surprised when she was cut free. She rubbed her hands and legs softly, before glancing up between the blue ocean creature and back over to Artemis as she was being given the same freedom, her lips spreading in a wide grin. “Well clearly what you said seems to have worked…” her enthusiasm was cut short when Lydia and Cyrus remained tied. “...Or not?” Her ruby hues turned up to the creatures transporting them curiously. She would look a little like a confused young child who had no clue what was happening. Because she didn’t. She was completely in the dark about what was going on. [break][break] As the group was moving however, Rosalia gasped softly as beautiful sight revealed itself before her. An ancient city, with construction unlike what she’d ever seen before made her head snap in every direction. She was buzzing with excitement. The woman wanted to know so much more about what was going on!She was on the fucking edge of begging someone to translate for her. Fortunately, Lydia did just that, making the ice witch nod eagerly as she listened as they were presented to…what seemed to be…some kind of room belonging to a ruling court? What was going on? To her, Lydia was like the teacher reading an amazing adventure to a kindergartener. So these creatures had made whatever was in Dio’s head? What sort of mad scientist experiment was that? [break][break] She knew what was going on. If they knew that their grimoires gave them their power, than they were clearly quite intelligent. Rosalia eyed her grimoire before sighing and looking back down at her hands. She was feeling so useless and hated every second of it. [break][break] There was literally nothing she could do at this point, and it made her just sulk quietly in corner until Cyrus decided to speak up again. She quickly turned to Artemis and Lydia, asking them to “Please translate because I feel so lost.” The woman would look between the elders curiously, not holding her gaze too long onto any one of them for too long in order to now seem rude. That’s how it worked with surface nobles anyways. [break][break] Once Artemis spoke up, she would, in turn, look at Cyrus and Lydia for help with translation. She just hoped that whatever her partners were saying wouldn’t end up being the cause of her death. The beauty had a promise to keep. Rosalia knew that the green orb of lucky jade was still in her backpack on her back, and for a split second realized, in worry that it might have shattered in the fall. A look of pure horror took over her face as she slowly moved a hand to the back of her bag and felt around it. She made sure the action was visible, so as to not seem suspicious. Then she sighed in relief when it seemed whole and went back into her comfortable but sad sulking position. [break][break]

As the four were sat down before the Elders and untied, they would look at the guardians before their leader would approach and give details of the events that had transpired. The female Elder would smile and see the golden cloaked male that was led into the chamber before giving him a wink. The other two elders did not notice this but once everything was said and done, The Golden male and the Green cloaked female spoke, asking their questions, The elders would look to each other before acknowledging them with a nod before finally raising their hands, each smiling as the first one, the older looking male with the white hair would be the first to speak apparently.
”Welcome to our humble home first of all...I heard that your journey was...difficult so for that we are sorry, as for your questions...We see that you are not at least being possessed by the Calamity, but there is still much to tell you on this matter. It is a pleasure to meet you all, the pleasantries can be exchanged after we tell you about Atlantis...So I am not as fluent in common as my sister...but I will do my best. (He splits off here to say something in a more primordial language in which the other two elders both nod). My name is Juun. I am the oldest of the three Elders, and champion of the Western tribe. (The bigger Atlantean behind him scoffs at this greeting.) The Black one that you two speak of...is something that our ancestors created. Long before the kingdoms of man were established on land Atlantis ruled as a gleaming gem, but for all the polish and advancement in magical knowledge and science...we created something terrifyingly powerful, enough so that the great kingdom we all reside in here...this...dead place...was sunk to protect the world.” Juun would sigh as the female elder spoke up, placing a hand on her brother’s shoulder. The two would speak in that ancient language before she finally spoke up. ”Sorry...my brother does not know the language as well as he thinks...The event he speaks of is known as the Calamity, well not so much as an event, but more of an actual being...it exists in a non tangible form until it reacts with a certain type of mana, we found associated with the Atlantean people. Atlantis was swept beneath the waves due to the releasing of the Calamity by a madman that the king had ordered to create a piece of weaponry in case the humans...you grew out of hand, this came in the form of researching specific mana signatures and formulae which led us to a sudden boom in exploration of the depths in which we found a chest... The stories passed down tell of it being as old as the primordial and raw cardinal elements; Fire, water, earth, and air. It was awakened when the ancestors found a way to harness pure mana energy and use it as a weapon, thus creating the Pure Aura element that we know today, using it on the box that the Calamity was sealed in caused it to explode and be renewed with an energy not seen since the creation of the world. The Calamity took control of many warriors and began to ransack the city as a way to feed off the energy. As Atlanteans began to succumb to the being and allow it to warp their mind and body the great leader of Atlantis did the last thing he could do...a mutual destruction so that the being may forever be trapped along with them. The king sank Atlantis killing millions including himself, the ones that were left...well they fled to the chasms created by the sinking leading to where they were now…” The female elder sighed as she looked at her brother who simply nodded, before looking to the rough and large Atlantean who seemed to want to ask Lydia for a challenge...or a drink as he never took his eyes of the female a very visible reaction as he just gave the red cloaked female a wink...the last elder stepped forward.
”What Kariko and Juun haven’t said is that there is a way out, but all attempts have proven to be useless...we don't have magic, and our own fighting abilities dwindle with each generation...The Chasm Crawlers...great big bastards that live down here are a means of transportation and bringing the fight to them, but there is a catch. Taming them only works if you are stronger than their own will. They may be monsters, but hell they have more brains than the three of us combined...My name by the way is Tskumi, I am the warrior elder and hold over the northern tribe. When Tskumi finished he pulled out an old drawing of the Chasm Crawler and handed it to Lydia, he was entrusting them with the possibility of getting out of there. Finally as he took a seat a great rumble would shake the elder’s chambers causing them all to sigh and look at the two of them.
Kariko spoke up once more.
”It seems that The Calamity has become strong enough to begin raising Atlantis...if this happens...not only are we doomed to perish here...but the world will know an evil unlike any other. We have answered your questions...please tell us who this man that trapped you all down here is and if you know anything as to how he became this vessel for the Calamity?” She asked in a worried tone, there were a few raised voices outside as Juun would look alarmed for a moment before getting up to go check what was going on out there himself.
Players will need to do a cumulative WC of 2000 words to move on from this event.

[attr="class","florencetext"] As the four magic knights were sat down in front of the elders both Lydia and Cyrus would finally get there hands untied. Which meant they didn't view the two mages as threat anymore at all how could they without there grimoires the mages were unable to cast spells which made them far less of a threat. The vice captain would watch as the human looking elder spoke first but for some reason she had a feeling he wasn't actually human. As he spoke about how he's common langue wasn't great it made sense at least to her anyway. After all they had been down under the sea for who knows how long. From what Lydia could see it seemed that the need for the langue of those above the sea wasn't need to much. The man gave them information on Atlantis which would hopefully help out later however it didn't really tell them anything about the foe they were fighting. That however would change as the female elder spoke up talking about how the thing possessing Dio was made as well as giving it a name before telling the four magic knights how the lost city actual sank. [break] Of course the root of the whole problem had to do with the experimenting of magic which out comes like this tended to happen not as bad as this one but it somehow always seemed to come back to magic. The sinking of the city was both noble yet sad at the same time. After all millions died to save the world yet none other than the people who call this place home and the four magic knight knew the truth. Lydia of course had noticed the largest of the elders looking at her the whole however it was unclear what he really wanted at the time so she would just push it to the back of her mind for now. However he would give her a wink and which she would just give a small smile back at. As he spoke about a way out that the others hadn't told them about Lydia had a feeling on what was coming next. As the large man handed her a drawling of the creatures it seemed they wanted the four of them to tame the vice captain would look down it. [break][break] They didn't seem to be very friendly which was to be expected with a name like Chasm Crawler. After looking over the drawling she would then pass it to Cyrus so that he and the others could get a look at the beast they were going to fight. As the camber rumbled the female elder would speak up once again asking them to give anything they knew about Dio. Well I'm afraid I don't know much about the man other than he was a magic knight just like us and his name was Dio. If I had to guess he was already taken over when we met him. However there is one thing I can tell you not about him but more so me. I'll gladly help your people but you can't expect me to do so without my magic. I'm sure the guard who took us to the three of you already informed you that we can't cast spell without them which is true. So if you want my help I'm going to need that back. After all I won't be much help without it.

[attr=class, cyrustext]Cyrus sighed with relief as he and Lydia were both finally untied once they arrived at the Elders' chambers, taking a moment to check his wrists with a few flexes of his hands. He cast his eyes to the three who the knights stood before, briefly meeting the lone female elder's gaze. The woman, who he learned was named Kariko, gave him a wink, which made the sap wizard pause for a moment before responding with a smile and a small but respectful nod of his head. Not the sort of greeting he had been expecting from one of these peoples' leaders, but certainly more welcoming than several of the possibilities he had considered may happen.
The trio of Atlanteans then began their tale, explaining to their visitors about the origins of the mysterious entity they had encountered with Dio as well as their connection to a form of magic he was somewhat familiar with, Pure Aura. Had he not been so enraptured with the underwater kingdom's history, Cyrus might have pulled out a notepad to jot down some of the history he was learning. For now he was content to listen, though; maybe after all of this was done he could request some more lessons on the local history?
The final elder stepped forward to tell them about a possible solution to their shared problem with this being, involving mysterious creatures called Chasm Crawlers. The sudden shake that rocked the chambers seemed to say that they had little time to waste, as Lydia gave them what little knowledge they had on Dio and requested their books back. At the mention of the tomes, Cyrus' grimoire briefly let off a warm amber glow and he felt a familiar presence. He would have to get Hama up to speed once he had his book back.
Cyrus looked at the Chasm Crawler picture he was handed, showing it to the other two in their group. "Dio was also here with another Magic Knight, Aris. But it seems he isn't connected to the mysterious being." He added onto Lydia's report to Kariko. "About these Chasm Crawlers, though. How are we to find them? From their names I would assume they live quite deep underwater. The sooner we can start this plan, the better. For everyone's sake." He was rather fascinated by these strange beasts, especially if they were as intelligent as Tskumi claimed. His interest and desire to help these people far outweighed any apprehension he may have for the herculean task ahead.
Artemis would watch with interest as the leaders of the seemingly peaceful village of mermen looked at them with interest. She herself was quite shocked at how these people seemed to look very humanoid, yet not quite. Their features also did not match. One had horns, while the other seemed more human. The last one looked more like an ogre than anything else, yet they were all collectively the leaders, something that piqued Artemis’ curiosity. It was not everyday that one met other sentient species after all, since most of everyone had thought that only humans are left within the world. However, they might be proven wrong now, and to be honest, Artemis was quite interested in learning more. She tempered herself, however. She knew that the situation needed her utmost attention, especially since it seemed to be life and death at this point. More so because they were still unarmed, not in possession of their grimoires. This made them weaker than usual, and gave them no powers to fight back. [break][break]
She would listen now to their explanation, running everything through twice in her head as she wrapped her thoughts around what these three seemed to be suggesting. A creation. An abomination. Something that was a manifestation of their desires. It reminded Artemis of the Coral Peacocks’ dungeon, a creation that turned into such utter madness. Now it was a dungeon, but previously, it was a site for experimentation, a regular manor without any taint of corruption what so ever. Now it is in a sad state, and the same can be said about this place. This being had consumed these people’s lives, and had affected their lives in such a horrid fashion.[break][break]
If Artemis were being honest, the story had pulled on her heartstrings. No matter the circumstance, she knew that no group of people deserved to be punished in this way. Sunk, and almost forgotten, these people were living as bottom feeders, almost too literally. They were, after all, at the bottom of the sea, way way lower than those up above, where they had met and performed. [break][break]
And then they asked about Dio, and anything they knew about him. Lydia had spoken first, and had given a small amount of information about the man, before offering their help. Artemis would nod, she did not mind helping these people. If not for the fact that they were helpless, and it tugged on her heartstring, then it’s for their comrade Dio. He was still a Magic Knight, even though he seemed to be possessed, and they could not leave him behind. Not again. Not like the last time when his team had left him behind when he had been attacked by a creature here in this accursed waters.[break][break]
“My team mates have given you a rundown of Dio, though they missed something important. There were stories that the man had been attacked when he had been here previously, and his comrades had left him behind.” She would pause for a moment, “He had survived. Though now, I am unsure if it was because of his power or because this being that’s possessing him wanted him to survive.” Artemis shook her head, “I offer my helping hand as well. Dio had been abandoned once, and he will not be abandoned again. We will need out Grimoires for that, and possibly more information about these Chasm Crawlers, as previously asked for by Cyrus.” She would gesture to Cyrus who had asked about the Chasm Crawlers previously.
Rosalia’s eyes widened when she could suddenly understand what was happening within the chamber. THESE PEOPLE SPOKE COMMON! The gods had truly blessed her. So the monster had been called the Calamity? It was fitting, considering what it had brought upon them as a group of unexpecting adventurers. So this man was called Juun. He was honest with them about the creation of the dangerous thing that had possessed Dio. The beauty bit her lower lip when she heard that they had sunk Atlantis in order to protect the rest of the world from the being. It was a lonely but lawful decision which she could personally understand. [break][break] A beautiful woman cut in, the sister of Juun, and told the party about the history of Atlantis, of the old king, the ancient chest, the creation of Pure Aura…Chisana used Pure Aura…She wondered if he knew of the origins of the curious element. Her ruby hues twinkled with interest as she listened, taking in all of the information like the food of a buffet. The magic that the Calamity had…it sounded horrifying and dangerous, and it had to be dealt with one way or another. [break][break] If there was one thing that Rosalia could understand well, it was sexual attraction. And the warrior elder that spoke last exuded that masculinity that she usually enjoyed seeing, but it was directed at Lydia rather than her, which in all fairness, didn’t bother the Black Bull’s ice mage. She had more than enough to think about, and was on a mission. The historical information and magical lore was more than enough to make her a satisfied woman on an intellectual level. What he said made her sad. They couldn’t use magic? And they were growing weaker in combat too? That could surely not stand! This place was like a prison and they needed to be let out. [break][break] Kariko asked the party the important question in the end, making Rosalia shake her mane. Dio Dio Dio…what did she remember about the man…? [break][break] “Dio… He was very military oriented, in my mind but I like to believe the good in people…when he was taken over…he spoke about us being the very last source of energy he needed to be resurrected.” Rosalia recalled, going back through her memories of the black-haired man. The witch shook her head in confusion as she spoke. She agreed with Artemis about not wanting to leave Dio behind. “He said he was going to sacrifice us…bit we’re obviously all still alive so either something failed or we’re missing a part of the plan…” The gears in her head were turning as she looked about at her teammates after they’d spoken. Her eyes widened after a moment as she opened her eyes narrowed. Her hues swept up the room suddenly, like a storm, as a very particular line that he directed at Cyrus earlier rank through her mind in that creepy voice… [break][break] “I don’t mean to cause chaos but…The creature, when responding to one of my friends earlier, he said he’s been under your feet this whole time and you haven’t noticed…” She met Cyrus’s eyes briefly and then looked over at Artemis and Lydia, as if to signal them that something is very very wrong… [break][break]

The mages answered their questions quickly and earnestly even though it was apparent that they indeed did not know much about the situation or Dio. The three elders each respond in nods and Juun answers the concerns and questions of their grimoires and the Chasm Crawler While also raising an eyebrow. The other two Elder’s look a bit worried as the commotion outside grows louder. ”The Chasm Crawlers are natural beings that we learned to harness and house here in Atlantis as transportation, but over time they grew more wild and now area force to be reckoned with.” He would say as Tskumi would walk out of the Elder’s house joining Juun, leaving the group with Kariko they each looked like they knew what was happened. Tskumi and Juun both came back, escorted by a few of the guardians, all three would look to each other and then to the mages before them. The commotion outside sounded just like a battle, or a roaring wave, the putrid stench of death began to fill the air. The guardians handed them their grimoires in their correct orders...impeccable memory.
”You were followed...The gods have brought upon us tribulation…The sacrifice that your possessed friend must have talked about must have been what is transpiring outside.” She said as Juun already reached over behind his seat and grabbed a rather ornate looking sword as Tskumi came back in wearing old armor. ”Time for you to earn your answers, stand and fight. Kariko, begin rounding up as many as you can to evacuate, Juun go and take a few guardians and help her...these ones will help me...for the hope of all Atlantis…” He would say as all three Elders parted ways, Tskumi would lead the group outside.
Outside it looked like hell was approaching, riding attop darkened streams of mis, mechanical monstrosities, and even decayed creatures of the deep...the monsters approached. Tskumi grit his teeth before blowing a war horn with such a wind that it would echo throughout the canyon. Once he pulled the horn away, others would blow as guardians seemed to rise up to get ready for battle. ”The Sunken have invaded...I hope you don't have an easy stomach...this will not be an easy fight…
The Sunken are the corrupted Atlanteans from the ancient city. Dio’s return with the players has been a carefully laid trap between The “Calamity” and its host. They tracked the players to the remaining Atlantean village and have started to swarm and do what they do best...kill.
The Sunken all generally look similar with one or two being bloated or more rotten than the others. They attack with Dark Magic and are as strong as the average of all players combined. The total number of enemies is numbered in the thousands, the players do not have to win the entire battle, but they do have to survive for three posts or 2,000 Words, whichever comes first.

The first thing Artemis found herself enamoured with was the information they got about the Chasm Crawlers. She was an enthusiast of water based mana beasts, specifically those that inhabit the deep sea. The Kraken golem that she had in her arsenal was, after all, a rendition of a mythical mana beast that had used to terrorize the seas around the Clover Kingdom. She had read numerous tomes about them, and without fail, always took great pains into incorporating these mythical beings into her own grimoire. Of course, there were also mythological ties to her other spells. Her bow was named after the mythological goddess of the love who was known to have been born through the seafoam, while her other spells were aptly named after beings that were once worshipped as deities of the seas and oceans. It was an homage of sorts to those who were here before the Clover Kingdom, and some say, before even the Elves had inhabited the land. But she digressed. This Chasm Crawler might just be some sort of a mana beast, one that was known to inhabit the deep oceans. It was known that large sea based mana basts often hide under the oceanic currents, away from prying eyes, and mostly just want to be left alone. They were strong, but they were also solitary beings. She was just about to ask a question that pertained to the Chasm Crawlers, before she felt something off around the area. Her latent sensory skills were on high alert, and that was not counting her Ki senses which were also going haywire.[break][break]
A commotion. And then a smell. Artemis knew that something was wrong. Her combat awareness, something a veteran acquired naturally through their years of service, started to kick in. The elders seemed to have noticed as well, and their lament had not gone unnoticed. Followed. Artemis was very sure that nobody had been following them, though these creatures might have had something that kept Artemis unaware of their presence. Her latent sensory skills had never really deceived her until now, nor has her Ki sensing been wrong. Whoever had hidden these creatures, or whoever had sent them must be strong. Stronger than Artemis, and certainly someone that should not be taken lightly at all. They were slowly escorted outside now, and Artemis had grabbed at her grimoire while getting up from her position which was usually on a satchel clipped to her hip belt. But, it was not there. She cursed internally realizing that these merpeople still held their grimoires, and therefore their best weapon against these invading creatures. It was then that her grimoire was handed to her, passed around as they finally got out of the house to reveal the carnage that was ravaging the area.[break][break]
The feeling of her grimoire had given her a sense of ease. There was something to be said about a mage’s affinity to the ancient tome that had chosen them during their respective ceremonies. It was a connection that is not easily broken, and only grows stronger with time. Artemis would hold hers tightly, feeling the mana pour through the tome. It was singing to her, calling for it to be used against these mana beasts, creatures of the deep that were definitely not natural in their shape, form, and existence. At least, they did not look natural at all to Artemis. They needed to be wiped out of existence, not only to preserve this city, but to eradicate their corruption. The seas were Artemis’ chosen domain, familial and magic wise. Water was where she felt home the most, and she would not let up until these beasts were cleansed.[break][break] “Let us help these people.” Artemis would finally say, before sprinting forward to get a better vantage against the creatures. She was almost sure that her group mates would heed her. At least, she knew that Lydia would help. Lydia knew how much she loved the seas. “These abominations cannot remain. They are a taint, a black mark.”[break][break]
Mana poured into her grimoire, and without pause, the pages started flipping through the different spells that were contained within the tome. Artemis settled on holding nothing back, and she would fight the best way she can, en masse.[break][break]
“Black Dawn.”[break][break]
The illusion spell manifested with her mana pouring through the air around a group of creatures that were closest to Artemis. She did not count the number within the large area that her spell took effect. Droplets of water started to coalesce, and quickly, the spell took effect on those around that area. Those affected would be trapped in an illusion of pure darkness, before starting to suffocate the creatures. [break][break]
Artemis was not done, however.[break][break]
Her grimoire flipped a few more pages, this time landing on one of her signature golem spells.[break][break]
“Kraken!”[break][break]
The golem, three in number, appeared in front of Artemis in a row. Without pause, Artemis sent all three ploughing through the ranks of the creatures. Her magic was singing, and she was unrelenting.

COMBAT SUMMARY
[attr="class","polluxscroll2"]
TL;DR Artemis used Black Dawn and Kraken to combat the creatures.
Name of Spell: Black Dawn[break] Elemental Type: Water[break] Rank & Spell Type: Grand | Attack Creation & Sensory (Illusion)[break] Range & Speed: 150 meters | 110 m AOE[break] Mana Cost: 50 | 25[break] Stats Effected: +12 Power, -12 Sensory[break] Applicable Perks: Master Illusionist, Area of Triumph, Battle Knight, Apex Predator[break] Description: Artemis utilizes her control over water causing water droplets to form around her opponent/s. She imbues an both illusion and attack creation on the water droplets that she conjures. The illusion targets sight, hearing, taste and smell, tricking her opponents and making them see nothing but black all around them, while their hearing, smelling, and mana sensing are also dulled, obscuring all mana sources while they are within the spell. As they are caught within the illusion, the water droplets around them will wrap around the heads of Artemis' opponents, drowning them as they are trapped within the illusion. Through sensory, Artemis is able to pinpoint opponents and target them specifically. She is also able to utilize ammo rule to conjure more than one Black Dawn, following ammo rules on damage. The spell also follows ammo rule for avoiding allies. Those hit by the spell will also have their sensory debuffed, following on debuff rules.[break][break]
Name of Golem: Kraken[break] Spell Element: Water[break] Spell Rank: Grand[break] Mana Cost: 50 | 25[break] Type of Golem: Heavy[break] Range and Speed: 40 meters | 19 m/s[break] Health of Golem: Archmage[break] Applicable Perks: Puppet Master[break] Description: The Kraken is a beast thought to live within the depths of the oceans, which inspired Artemis to name this specific golem in honour of it. The Kraken is never summoned singularly, but always in a group which corresponds to the ammo rule for golems at Grand rank. Draconic in size and features, but with tentacles, it uses its appendages to do untold damage. It takes orders through the mana tether that it has with its caster, which sustains its existence. It can also take verbal commands though it has to be simple. The Kraken also have the ability of flight, with it's wing appendage usually folded for protection, and can be used as transportation which can carry 5 people at the speed of 19m/s. It is 100 feet in size and one of Artemis' most destructive golems.[break]
[attr=class, cyrustext]The conversation about the events that had thus far transpired came to a close as the rising sounds of chaos outside filled the chamber of the three Atlantean elders. Cyrus' time within the Magic Knights had made him more than familiar enough with the sounds; combat. Just as the elders said, it would seem that the time of this ancient being's "sacrifice" was at hand. The elders all armed themselves in preparation, before the guardians finally returned the mages' grimoires to them. The very second the book was in Cyrus' hand, he opened it without hesitation. As if she had been hiding between the pages, Hama burst forth and let out a scream of frustration. "That stupid shadow bastard is in for the asskicking of his life!" She declared immediately, looking around frantically as though she expected him to be right there in the room with them.
Cyrus winced a bit at her volume, but was unsurprised by her announcement; Hama was very proud, and he had no doubt that being so easily subdued was quite the wound to that pride. He was just happy to see his partner again, though. "Good to have you back, Hama." He greeted his friend, who turned to look at him. She seemed to calm down a bit, before crossing her arms and huffing. "Right back into shit, aren't we?" She asked, and he responded with an amused but solemn nod. She looked around at the others as they got ready, and punched her first into her palm. "Well let's get this over with! Fill me in on everything later!"
With that the two followed Tskumi outside. The sound of the warhorn blaring seemed to pump Hama up as she grinned eagerly, and even Cyrus felt a bit energized by it. "If we wanted easy lives, we would not have become knights." Cyrus said, having long known that it would be a challenging road to follow.
Cyrus opened his book once again, flipping to two adjacent pages as their enemies came into view. "Seems like a good opportunity to test this out. Amber Errant!" He muttered, holding his hand over the tome. Suddenly a trio of geysers of sap erupted from the ground in front of him, each measuring 20 meters tall. From one side of each stream emerged a shining shield, and from the other a similar sword. The two crossed and then swung outward, dispelling the geyser and revealing three powerful knights that seemed more like gold than the amber they actually were made of. A brief moment of appraisal, before Cyrus gave a nod of satisfaction.
He turned to look at the rest of their team, watching as Artemis got to work with her own golems and spells. "And while we're at it, Syrup Shroud!" He added, protecting his warriors with an additional layer of defensive magic in the form of an amber glow. A fourth instance of the spell covered Cyrus and Hama themselves, thanks to their connection. "Focus on protecting the civilians!" He instructed his soldiers as he stepped forward, the three knights falling into a regimented rhythm as they escorted Cyrus and any who would join him into the battlefield. Any of the Sunken they crossed, the Errants were instructed to do their part in thinning the herd.

[attr="class, cyrusstats] Combat Notes Summoned a trio of Amber Errant (Power) golems and cast Syrup Shroud on them and Cyrus
Description: By casting this spell, Cyrus summons a mass of sap that quickly takes on the shape of a castle wall before hardening into a shifting amber-colored aura around Cyrus or his allies, defending them from enemy attacks. On casting, this spell will provide Cyrus with a +9 Durability buff. This defense can fully restore its lost health so long as it is not entirely destroyed, up to three times per casting. Sufficient Control will also allow him to create multiple barriers for different targets.
One of the most powerful forms of golems within Cyrus' sizable arsenal of minions, the Amber Errant is capable of reaching heights of up to 20 meters tall should their creator so desire, and cut an appropriately striking figure. Visually, they resemble powerful armor-clade warriors armed with both a kite shield and a brilliant sword. They constantly give off an amber-colored glow, as though their form alone cannot fully contain their power. In addition to being quite sturdy, they are also surprisingly agile, which makes for a versatile warrior. This particular form of the Amber Errant possesses a notable emphasis on power, though it looks identical to any other. As a Grand tier golem, it can carry up to five passengers, though carrying anyone reduces their speed to 40 meters per second.
[attr="class","florencetext"] Lydia would listen as the four magic knights got more information on the creatures they were going to tame. However she would soon find out that the there would be an unexpected change in the plans which wasn't for the better. Luckily the guards would give the group back there girmoires which was good however it wasn't for the reason she originally asked them back for. She would listen as the female elder spoke saying the four magic knights were followed which made no sense. While Lydia wasn't the best skilled when it came to sensory. However Lydia knew Artemis had a have strong sensory skill and yet the water mage wasn't even able to sense them until now and there was a lot of them more than Lydia could count. As the biggest of the three elders spoke to the group telling them to stand and fight the glass mage would waste no time getting up with her grimoire and hand letting a small smile come across her face. [break][break] After all she was a crimson lion and they lived for fights so the battlefield was like a second home to her. Let's make this interesting Tskumi let's see which one of us can kill more of these bastards. As she stepped out side Cyrus and Arty would waste no time getting to work on what seemed to be thousands of mana beast. Normally Lydia would increase her own speed with a spell to help avoid attacks but give the numbers it was almost impossible to weave in between the battlefield. The clear answer would have been to use a spell that covered a large area however all the spells she had of that type couldn't tell friend from foe so she would have to do things the hard way. Light Magic: Balmung As the first sword appeared in her hands the vice captain would use her control to summon four more swords before sending one at each The Sunken. However she wouldn't stop there as she cast another just as powerful spell. [break][break] Glass Magic: Spear of Longinus As the first spear appeared in her hand Lydia would once again use her control to make another four spear before sending all five towards another five Sunken.

The elders were kind enough to answer the questions, and Rosalia’s worry wasn’t really paid heed to. That’s when a sudden panic spread through the air and one member of the council spoke of fighting and of Dio. Rosalia’s eyes narrowed and even without her grimoire besides her, her quick of icey temperatures kicked in as her focus centered on the matter at hand. The elders all split into doing their individual tasks, and some of the guardians handed back the group their grimoires. Thank god, these people were reasonable enough to realize how useless they would be without their magic. The witch thanked whatever entity watched over her and stood up quickly. She would quickly follow the rest of the party and find herself pausing at the amount of swarming enemies. Concern came over her beautiful face as she let a shiver of fear roll down her spine, only one, before she couldn’t allow herself to be scared anymore. People depended on her. She had to do her best and defend them. [break][break] Artemis was quick to respond, unleashing several powerful mana creatures upon the enemies. And god, they were gruesome. They looked like everything she expected to find in a horror novel or a nightmare. With just four magic knights… the witch exhaled loudly as she scanned the area for anything at all that they could use to their advantage. She was unfamiliar with this terrain, and her magic was not as strong in essence as Artemis, Lydia or Cyrus’ so she had to stay smart. Anything she could do. [break][break] Her grimoire lit up beside her and she decided that if she wanted to satisfy her curiosity of ice underwater, now was the time to do it. Her grimoire flew infront of her, lighting up in a shade of dark purple as a chill ran through the air. “Sheer cold.” Rosalia hissed as she cast her spell, positioning it deep within a section of the scary army. Her area of effect ice would sweep through those creatures, seemingly dealing damage but not fully killing all of them. With a hiss, the beauty would maintain the spell and move back, not letting them get within range of her. They were strong enough to withstand one of her strongest spells, so she had to think… [break][break] If the swarm of monsters got too close to them or it seemed like any individual guardian was getting overwhelmed, she would flip her grimoire over to another page, move further back and cast her Winter’s Kiss spell, breathing out a spur of chilling ice upon the enemies trying to slow them down and damage them as much as possible, while giving the guardians individual shields. She was going to be careful here. Rosalia knew full well that she did not possess instincts having grown up in confinement, but she could try her best to think through everything that was going on. [break][break] “If anyone needs another shield or some sort of helping hand, shout.” The woman's voice echoed out over the battlefield, dying in the screams of agony and the sounds of combat.
Mana Conservationist: You will be able to use spells with less mana than others when it comes to casting spells! Each rank of spell will have its spell cost go down by the following amounts, please remember that this is based on the rank of the spell not the character! [Juniors]: 2 | [Intermediate]: 4 | [Senior]: 6 | [Grand]: 10 | [Archmage]: 16
Description: Rosalia opens her pretty red lips and breathes a cone of miniature black ice spikes, so small that they appear a painful black blizzard to her enemies who take senior damage upon impact. Allies (including the caster) gain a shield blocking senior rank damage that appears as an invisible shell of icy black mana. This AOE can be maintained for its affected area, repeatedly dealing damage to Rosalia's enemies if they don't move outside of its range.
