[attr="class","ardereescroll"]Smoke trailed from the tip of a lit cigarette, not fluttering but floating like wisps on the wind. Ardere leaned against the wood railing as his amber eyes were fixed on the landscape around the Yuiee Estate. In many ways, it reminded him of his own Estate. This one leaned furthermore into the Rising Sun aesthetic and even more unique designs than his, but it was almost comforting in a way. Ironically enough, he'd get to enjoy the architecture and scenery for a bit longer until his guild mates arrived. [break][break] Looking down in his vest pocket, he noticed only one cigarette remained. Shit. I really need to quit, you know? Who was he talking to? Perhaps himself? Only Ardere knew exactly who he was talking to. Nonetheless, he waited patiently for the arrival of his comrades. One by one they would trail in and here they would have to test themselves. The Crimson Lion Captain was fortunate enough to have been granted permission to train here by his own comrade. The Crimson Lions were not all Royal Knights but they would likely all feel the ramifications of the battles to come. Daemon did not stop at the gates and walls, they stormed through into their homes. They had done so once before and they'd likely not hesitate to do such again. This was why they were taking the battle to them after all, even if that strategy turned to be a trap. Ardere could not do it alone. Even he and Salamander had much work to do. After all these years, he found himself seeking strength once more. But this kind of strength was not one so easily found on the training grounds--it was something else entirely. [break][break] Crushing the cigarette in his hand, he did not litter the ground with the bud. Instead he wrapped it up in a napkin and slid it into his pack alongside the black and gold grimoire on his belt. A bright flame began to stir inside his chest, allowing an outline of a small serpent to be seen to anyone who managed to get a glimpse. The dragon was growing restless. Me too, my friend. Me too. Walking slowly down the steps, it was time for them to meet. The Lions were gathering here for no ordinary training session. It was imperative they honed their skills but most of all found strength in each other. Humanity's power came from working together. The downfall of the Daemon would be their selfish desires and goals. If they could exploit that, then perhaps they could save their world. It had been centuries since a Daemon or Devil threat loomed over them. Now in the reign of Jagen and his Knights, they would not fail now. Whatever Destiny had in store for him, he was prepared. Lysander once told him fate was forged in the hearts of wizards. Now he wondered how true that would turn out to be.

[attr="class","haniaimage"]❝I hear a song of woe shadowing our past in sorrow.❞
[attr="class","haniascroll"]A request, well more a summons of sorts has been sent to the Crimson Lions squad by their captain. Squad training. He had recently taken part in the Royal Knight exams as a kind of exhibition match against the Green Mantis fire mage Valo Stark. No matter what he did, he couldn't land a hit. His illusions tripped him up, sure but that only lasted for so long as he would need to keep either a certain distance away or keep to a certain speed. He could do both but that didn't matter at the end of the day as he still couldn't create a stalemate let alone overpower him. It was beyond frustrating to the normal calm and collected ice mage. He had of course had caught the fire mage and his spirit off guard when Asmostia made his presence known and had caught him off guard when he went into full spirit dive.
It had been the only time he had been able to land any damage on that hot-head, but he had to call on more power than he liked from Amostia for that small boost. He wasn't one hundred percent at the exams and he couldn't exactly say he was any better now but he knew that this training, especially for someone like himself was mandatory due to him being a royal knight prospect. He had his own concerns and worries, it steamed from the training that he had done with the former Crimson Lion squad member Griswold. When the conversation of these three monsters came up he had given him an insight to what their magics, however, he had also used honorific almost like he was afraid to irritate them on several different levels. He had confessed his sin quietly to Lydia via a communication spell on the training ground.
That conversation had yet to happen, he believed it better that he come clean to her that she find out by another source, he had sounded distraught he honestly had no reason why he had done such a thing and that much would have been clear to the woman. It seemed that his sister didn't find his actions as a threat to the kingdom or he wouldn't have been allowed to take the exams in the first place but then he wouldn't exactly be breathing either so he was thanking the gods for protecting him from such fates. He had made his way by carriage from the families estate in the noble region to the common region, in honesty, he had been resting most of the way as much as he tried to remain awake and alert, his body just hadn't been able to do so.
Within the carriage was his nanny Winter, she had demanded to accompany him on his journey and he had reluctantly agreed to it. He knew he wasn't going to win with the woman, she had packed everything he'd needed just in case ha had a bad turn during his extended stay at the estate. She was curious as to what his homeland looked like and from what he had gathered from Ozma and his father their estate had aspects of his own home, that's what he needed homesickness. As soon as they hit the mist he was awoken by the woman, he stirred slightly and opened his eyes his arm moving over it. "Are you sure about this Hania?" she would ask, he shook his head "Not at all." he replied to her, this worried the woman as he was always so certain about his goals but now he seemed hesitant.
"You can withdraw still you know." she would say to him, making him bring up his arm to make eye contact before he shook his head "No, I can not." he replied, his voice was completely neutral this was a huge thing allowing the woman to know he really was off at current. All she could do was watch over him and support him the best she could, however, part of her wanted to just take him somewhere and keep him isolated from all of this. He had a strong mind and body, the latter however when hurt or sick took a very long time to mend and heal, often even her own or Lydia's own magic couldn't fix it, it was like the body was fighting against it. It honestly made no sense to her. "Maybe you should leave the knights" she commented, which made the white-haired heir sit up and take notice.
"I can not." he said simply stepping out as the carriage door was opened, he knew his duty, he knew what was expected of him and he would fulfil both until the moment he stopped breathing, though there was a pit in his stomach that was almost telling him that he wasn't going to be coming back from this. The ice mage looked to the man who was seemingly to be his escort while a young woman was helping Winter. He was lead through the pagoda's and pavilions up the mountain path and ended at the training grounds. "Is there anything you need?" the man asked "I am fine, but I thank you." the two bowed to each other and he moved to the side looking at the many different weapons that it seemed had been provided for them before moving to be sat on a nearby rock to meditate as he awaited the arrival of the others.

Rank & Element: Junior ¦ Light Class & Type: Relic ¦ Accessory (bracelet) Magic Specializations: Physical Reinforcement ¦ Healing Appearance & Lore: A simple bracelet made out of reinforced glass with an opalite charm dangling from it almost like a pendulum, that gives off a dull light during the day and a bright light during the night preventing any natural shadow from forming.
There is nothing of major historical importance or deep story into where this item came from. The white-haired heir of the Ravencrest family has suffered from terrible day and night terrors since he was young and still does to this day. When asked what is wrong he brushes it off telling people not to worry it was a condition he had. He will never go into the terrible things he sees, in fact, he personally wishes he could forget he quickly realized that his perfect memory was a double edge sword and at times he truly wished he didn't have it.
His elder sister Lydia was the first to realize that it happened more when he was in an emotional state or surrounded by darkness. She also realized that he refused to sleep unless every light source he could find was active or he would sleep outside under the sun during the day, this wasn't optimal as he was to be trained to take over the family if anything were to happen to Lydia. Still, there wasn't much anyone could think to do to help him as he refused to open up but even if they could that came with a different set of hurdles they had to get over. Hania earlier in his life wouldn't take things from people due to his treatment before being adopted.
It took a while but Lydia finally found a way to help her younger brother, she had a crystal made with light inside and told him to use it when he sleeps. She said it was hers and she just wanted to see if it would help. He was reluctant but she said it only had to be a few days so he accepted. Throughout those few days, he slept somewhat peacefully so it was clear that it helped but not enough, she could only guess that the light wasn't strong enough. She realized this would be fine for a normal child afraid of the dark but it was clear to the pink-haired woman that this wasn't a normal situation.
She personally designed what she believed would help him the most, she chose the materials, their appearance even the opalite that dangles from it. As the bracelet was being made she slowly started to imbue her own element into the glass beads and the opalite as the former was created and the latter was shaped. It took close to a year to complete but Lydia seen it as something that should be done slow and steady, this was to make sure that it was done right the first time and that no matter what it would be near indestructible for whatever he may face in life.
On what is now classed as Hania's eighth birthday after a certain incident happened, she gave him a box, within it laid the bracelet. He was told to keep it with him always as she would be there to keep the darkness at bay and watching over him so he could be at peace while he rested. From that moment he has always kept it with him even if he hasn't always worn it.

It seems to stay for a few seconds before disappearing, the moment it does a gentle and warm light forms around the person in question healing them for junior rank damage. With the use of ammo rules, additional peoples names can be written per trigger. While under the ability of this spell it will actively attempt to cleanse any curses, debuffs, hexes, venoms, toxins or poisons that may afflict the uses as per the clashing rules. As this is only a junior rank spell it can do nothing but close minor wounds

While under the ability of this spell it will actively attempt to cleanse any curses, debuffs, hexes, venoms, toxins or poisons that may afflict the uses as per the clashing rules. As this is only a junior rank spell it can do nothing but close minor wounds.
Type & Uses: NA Rank & Specialization: Junior ¦ Physical Reinforcement Mana Cost: NA Range & Speed: NA ¦ NA Stats Affected: -- Description: In the beginning, this ability is inactive, it is only with the use and bonding of the item itself a deeper understanding allows the hidden secret left by a sister wanting to protect the younger brother they've treasured for close to thirteen years. This ability will become an imbued speed buff when it ranks to intermediate.
Hania has been taught how to wield may weapons since he was six years old, however, he has always prefered wielding weaponry that has tied into his true heritage. The fact he clings to a family heritage that seems to have abandoned him bothers his nanny Winter, as much as she and others have tried to knock some sense to him he keeps telling them it is still part of who he is. That he won't abandon part of himself just because his family didn't care for him.
The weapon was a gift from Alyssa Lilygate on the day he received his grimoire. She told him he had now become a man in his own right and it came with the responsibility of protecting things he held dear. He took the words to heart, treasuring the jian that was given to him.
The jian itself almost seems to hold a faint icy white glow when held by Hania as if it resonating with his element. The weapon itself is 28 inches long weighing 1.7 pounds. The sheath and hilt have a black and white design to it, while having ice blue crystals on the bottom of the sheathe, and two at the top.
The top of the sheathe and the hilt have a navy blue silk cord on them. The cord on the sheathe is tied and looped before having two dangling tassels with the same ice blue crystals on them. The top of the hilt on the other hand seems to have had the cord tied and a charm attached. A small lantern with the same ice blue crystals at the top and bottom of it.
Type & Uses: Trigger ¦ 6 uses Rank & Specialization: Senior ¦ Attack Creation Mana Cost: 24 per trigger ¦ 45 Recharge Range & Speed: 80m ¦ 40 m/s Stats Affected: +12 control (self) Description: Swinging the blade releases a flurry of what appears to be ice blue feathers, within a two-meter wide arc and a one point twenty-seven centimetres tall. These feathers edges are razor sharp and will cut through fabric and into the skin as if they are paper dealing senior damage. A direct hit will induce symptoms of frostbite and minor hypothermia.

Aesling was very glad that she would have a chance to get acquainted with the rest of the squad as they had been summoned out by the captain himself for some squad training. The slime mage was very eager to have a chance to both show off the skills she has thus far developed to her new squad as well as getting to meet them in general as she had only recently joined into the squad and had not really had a chance to introduce herself much.
So with her want to make a good impression she had gotten up early to get herself ready for the training she got on her normal black and gold outfit with her mantle placed on over it, her hair rather than being down like normal she had done up into a ponytail to keep it out of her face as she figured that her normal look might be fine but for an introduction she wanted to make sure her face was clearly visible and not risk the unkempt look one might have if their hair was in their face. Her gimoire was of course set at her side inside of a pouch for it and locked in place by a simple latch that would be easy enough for her to get undone but prove harder for others to undo; furthermore the book had a chain attached to it that kept it tethered to her outfit. Aesling was aware of her ability to clone spells by touching the spellbook of another person, so with knowing that kind of power exists she is sure to keep her grimoire safe, besides it was not wise for her to let others look at it anyway as they might notice the fact she is not just a slime mage.
With all her stuff ready she promptly left the base and quickly made her way out of the noble region after a bit of a trek she arrived at the Yuiee estate. The slime mage started to have a little bit of a look around as she moved to where she assumed the gathering point may be, spotting the captain in the gathering area and moving to his location. She also had saw the other person sitting on a rock nearby but chose to pay more attention to the captain for now as she moved to stand arms at her side staring forward towards Ardere. “Aesling Xanthie reporting for training, sir.” she spoke in a clear and steady tone just standing in a line-up of one.
Ozma emerged from his familys home to greet the rest of the squad and was dressed his his normal clothing he wore when at home as opposed to his normal duties as a Crimson Lion. Gone was his normal jacket and simple pants and were replaced by a hakama pants and a simple yet elegant haori over a white under kimono top, completing it was a jian sword on the mute mages hip to complete the outfit. As he walked out to the training grounds to meet with the rest of his squad one other thing stood out as well, resting on the young mans shoulder a small pixie like being was sitting comfortably and was gently talking to the young man and though small her beauty was clear with her hair flowing thru the colors of the rainbow and her clothes doing the same as well. At the moment her clothing and hair seemed to be going thru warmer colors and her mood matched the occasional blue or violet could be seen from time to time, “Ozma are you excited to see your squad here on your familys training grounds and to train with them here?” she asked her voice clear yet every word was as soothing as cool water on a hot day and the young mage smiled a bit and nodded making a few hand gestures.
It was interesting that despite him not knowing this spirit for very long she seemed to understand his mindset and how to communicate with him while understanding his meaning and intent without using normal sign language or his paint magic.”perhaps we will get to meet another spirit I remember you mentioning at one point that your captain had one” Iris mentioned as Ozma then spotted his captain waiting along with a few members of the squad already, the paint mage moved across the grounds and reached Ardere before he would bow respectfully to him though he did bring a hand up to hold the paint spirit up gently so she wouldent fall and he then used his brush to write in the air,”Thank you for coming Captain Ardere its an honor to have you here I trust the trip here was a pleasant one” he asked with thru the painted words before his partner poked him lightly on the back of the neck.
Ozma glanced over lightly before he gained a small smile and wrote again.”Ah pardon my manners this little one is called Iris she is a spirit I have entered into a partnership with” he wrote in blue ink while the paint spirit politely dipped her head in greeting.”its a pleasure to meet you Captain Ardere my partner here thinks rather highly of you” she said her tone still calm yet soothing.”we have yet to work on our bond at all since we only have recently entered into a contract but he is rather determined and focused on his goals its an admiral feat to say the least” she added as the mute mage glanced to the side a bit trying not to seem embarrassed by the praise his spirit gave him. The mute mage noticed Hania mediating a little ways away and made a mental note to speak and train with him a bit later as well.

[attr="class","ardereescroll"] A smile crossed the hulking man's pale lips as he watched his squad members enter the Estate. Only a few so far, but the others will come. Standing up tall to address them, his armor shimmered in the sunlight. Adorning a red set of plate and leather mixed armor, the gold trim seemed to shine and sparkle. As his titanic fur cape fluttered in the wind, Ardere inhaled sharply. There was a light Spring breeze flowing through. The cold of Winter was past now, but the cool of Spring before the scorch of Summer gave some relief to him. The dragon stirring in his chest was no aid in this, but he served as a reminder of the eternal flame brewing inside the Captain himself. He'd never escape the flames, nor did he care to. [break][break] Good to see you all. Welcome. Hania. Aesling. Ah, hello Ozma and Iris. Giving a bow to each of them, he smiled. Every trip is an adventure for me these days. Perhaps today we can explore the intricacies of spirits. They are no easy task to bond with. He knew that hardship all too well as the wielder of Salamander. Perhaps the most of all. Running pale, broad fingers through his hair the mage let out a sigh before looking to them. He could still feel a sense of uneasiness on the winds--it was everywhere in Clover now. Echoes of Daemon stirring in the Abyss pierced his ears at night, filling his dreams with dread and toil. His only escape was in the memories long past, to places long forgotten. But the greatest escape of all was right here in the present, with his family. I'll keep this simple. I asked you all here because we as a squad need to grow strong together. The Daemon will not wait idly for us. We need to get stronger, even myself included. This is also a good opportunity for newer and older members to get to know one another. Stepping down the wooden steps to meet them, he closed his eyes as Salamander's energy exited his body. Behind him formed a dragon nearly as tall as he was, crimson scales and piercing yellow eyes. The dragon exhaled steam from it's maw, sticking close to the Captain. [break][break] Let's go ahead and start with some exercises. We need to get warmed up don't we? Stretching his arms and legs, the fire mage ground his teeth a bit. His muscles were still sore from his own personal training. It had been nonstop lately. Ardere could not bring himself to stop training. His worries were beginning to take over. As much as he did not want to let them, it was an irrefutable fact that was evident in his mind. Nonetheless, he felt a calm here at the Estate. Alright so standard warmup. One hundred push ups, jumping jacks, and squats. Get to it! A call back from the old Crimson Lion drills. None here were a stranger to them, even if some had grown stronger over the years. Ardere remembered how brutal Lysander's drills were. That toughness and the love within it had made him strong. He was perhaps the physically strongest mage in Clover now. He only hoped that his old mentor was watching over him now, with the squad he inherited from him. He hoped he'd be proud.

[attr="class","silasreescroll"]It was a brand new season for Taiyo who was growing at his rate. There was a lot of pressure on him ever since he became heir. He would never admit that he felt the weight of the entire family on his shoulders. He was the worst heir the family has ever seen and even so he was sure that he was the worst heir in the kingdom. He would not let that bring him down. He would rather work hard and improve where he failed. One of the ways he did this was learning as much as he could from Hania and other nobles he knew. Of course, Hania didn’t like him much but he also didn’t like most people and Taiyo felt bad for insulting the other heir. He knew there would be consequences to that in the form of less small talk which Taiyo benefited a lot from. Even so, his responsibilities were catching up to him. As heir to the house, he had to sit in meetings and other family gatherings even if he didn’t want to. Feeling the weight of knowing how drastically different he was from Silas or even Emily, Taiyo vowed to work even harder.
[break][break]
As he got up from a long family meeting, he walked over to the main house, grabbing his Crimson Lions mantle. That ran longer than I hoped. I hope the captain doesn’t mind me being late. I’d still take responsibility if I need to, that’s what accountability is all about. He was growing and maturing. He understood that though some things happen which you can’t control, sometimes it was better to just take responsibility than to make excuses. If he recalled correctly, he was to go to the Yuiee Estate. Grabbing his broom and his sword, he prepared to depart. I’ll be heading out. I’m late. Jumping onto the broom, the young Vermillion mage flew all the way to the Yuiee Estate.
[break][break]
As he arrived, he saw the squad working out. From what he could see, this was a warm up to what was to come. When he landed, he noticed just who was there. The Captain, Hania, Ozma, and a new person with long pale hair. Since Taiyo hadn’t seen her before, he figured that she was new to the squad. He would have to introduce himself when given the chance. The first thing the Vermillion heir did was approach the Captain. Good day to you, Captain Ardere. My sincerest apologies for being late. I got tied up in family matters however I accept responsibility. If the captain reprimanded him, he’d take it. If the captain pardoned him, he’d take that too. Regardless of what happened next, once it was over, Taiyo joined the others in their warm up exercise. He didn’t know if to expect Hania calling him out on being late or anything. He was well prepared to talk to Hania about all the stressful panels he had to sit in on. It was possible that Hania could relate since he was also an heir.
[break][break]
Getting to the floor, the young lion cub got started on his 100 push ups. One, Two, Three, Four,…,Forty Five, Forty Six, they were all done in reasonably quick succession. In an attempt to increase his physical power thinking it would help with his sword wielding, Taiyo would exercise in the morning before he got ready for his day with the squad and most late evenings after. It looked as if all of that training paid off in the form of making it easier to do such warm ups. Ninety Five, Ninety Six, Ninety Seven, Ninety Eight, Ninety Nine, 100! He had completed 100 push ups, getting up. What’s next, captain? Jumping Jacks? Squats? Planks? Depending on what the captain told him next, he would do just that.

The young Vermilion heir has shown himself to be lack luster within certain arts many nobles are taught since childhood. This, however, didn't mean he didn't want to make up for his shortcomings and so requested the head of the Ravencrest to become his tutor when it came to the art of swordplay.
Upon their first lesson, the pink-haired head of the Ravencrest couldn't believe just what kind of blade he decided to turn up with and strapped to his back no less. She was less than impressed and so had a new longsword crafted using the techniques only known to those within the family, upon completion Lydia gifted the sword to her student in the hopes he would start to understand his role within the family and the apperances that he had to keep due to it.
This blade of the sword is black with golden accents across the fuller of the sword. The grip is long and carries a pummel at the bottom while the cross guard has a blue diamond in the center. [attr="class","haniaimage"]❝I hear a song of woe shadowing our past in sorrow.❞
[attr="class","haniascroll"]One by one the rest of the squad started to turn up for the training, he allowed his mana senses to feel around the area subtly as he continued to meditate. Of course, other than Ard's due to being so strong he didn't know which mana belonged to who with his eyes closed as skilled as he was in sensory he still had limitations. The first voice he heard was that of a young woman's introducing herself to the captain, he guessed she was new to the squad and had joined when he was away doing a task but he couldn't say for sure. He could have told her that she could have been a bit more informal knowing that their captain was a bit more relaxed about things unless it was something truly serious. Then again there was a daemon threat on the horizon so he guessed it was rather serious.
Either way, it wasn't his place and so remained quiet within his meditative state, the next person to show up hadn't said anything he could only speculate that this would be Ozma. He had met Ozma once before when he had started paining on one of the heir's canvases, he was rather surprised however that his family had extended hospitality to the Crimson Lions so that they could train within the confines of their estate. From what he could tell from the moment he had met the servant that brought him to the training ground and what he had observed on the journey to meet the rest of the squad while on the estate, their family was very traditional and that they had limited interactions from those, not from the estate. It was a curious thing to him, however, he guessed this was the families way of helping to prepare them for what was to come.
Ard had next made his presence known as he spoke greeting them all first before speaking to Ozma, he knew, in this case, it wasn't to him, as, from what Amostia had told him they had reached the pinnacle of their partnership. He couldn't lie and say he was happy about that as the dives were still draining to him, he had trained both partial and full spirit dive in quick succession and around a week later he was using full spirit dive against Valo when he still hadn't really recovered. He had to admit it was a foolish move, however, Valo was superior to him in power and speed, without going into full dive he wouldn't have been able to land a single hit on the fire mage. He had landed only a few hits, after a few more minutes they decided for their match to end and for a rematch at a later date.
He couldn't and really didn't want to think what would happen if there was anything more he needed to go through to complete his bonding with Amostia. Ard cut straight to the point in telling him why they had been summoned, he, himself was fully aware why this was the case. He had been there on the day of the Wizard King's announcement, he was one of the first to request to take part in the exams to prove himself worthy of a royal knight and had taken part in an exhibition match against the hot head from the Green Mantis. He knew the words spoken were all true, the thing was since his sister's departure from the Crimson Lion's to the Azure Deer moral had been down he'd noticed, he could understand why as his sister was one of the two pillars of strength of the squad.
It was then the warm-up was called they were to do sit-ups, jumping jacks and squats, given what his training was on a day to day basis this was quite the walk in the park. At least this would actively try to kill him, although, he didn't make a single movement from his meditative state, it wasn't that he wasn't training because he was just in a way that he required right now. He couldn't really afford to put any more stress on his body or it may not have turned out well, but then, it did explain why Winter had insisted on accompanying him. Soon enough the tranquillity was disrupted by the arrival of Taiyo who had turned up late, being an heir himself he understood the challenges that title brought to them but he had never been late to anything.
If there was or would be overlap on meetings, training, events and the likes he attempted to reschedule one of them so no insult or offence would be caused to anyone involved. It was all about time management, something that the Vermilion heir had yet seemed to have grasped. Then again since their last encounter things had been rather tense between the two since intended or not insult had been given by the solar mage to the ice mage. He understood that he often came as standoffish but that was just who he was, it was learning to read the subtle undertones that gave away his true intentions. The issue with that was he really didn't like to be around people only interacting when he was required or forced to, depending on the situation. Soon enough the training had started, pushups had started but he still hadn't moved.
Soon enough he opened up his eyes and moved off the rock, it was as if he was ready to join in with everyone in regards to training, but, he had other ideas. He had no intention of training in such a way, it would do little for him but make him go backwards when it came to his health. He carefully walked to Ard and stopped in front of him "Captain Kasai." he said his voice as calm as it normally was, but it had been the first time he had been so formal with the older male as usually, he called him by his first name. "I'm challenging for my sister's old position as your right hand." his voice hadn't faltered when he issued the challenge. "Will you accept?" It was strange to hear those words coming from his mouth as previously he cared nothing about gaining a prominent position within the squad, but, things had changed.
He knew everyone including Ard himself was feeling it. This was his way of at least trying to get back some normalcy and bring the morale up once more, whether it would happen however? That was anyone's guess at this point in time but he was at least going to try. He stood awaiting Ard's answer, if declined or accepted for another time he would return back to the rock he had previously been sat at and return to his meditation, if accepted he would be prepared for what was to come. He knew that Ard was by far stronger than Valo and he could barely scratch him, this was a different set of circumstances, the same as like with the royal knight exams he didn't have to defeat Ard to gain the position, he just had to impress him enough that he believed he was the right fit. He was sure that he could do that, but, it didn't mean it would be easy by any means.

Type & Uses: Trigger ¦ 4 Uses Rank & Specialization: Junior ¦ Healing Mana Cost: 8 mana per trigger ¦ 15 recharge Range & Speed: 25m ¦ 10 m/s Stats Affected: +4 Control Description: The pendant starts to pulsate and hovers into his hand, holding almost as if it was a pen or calligraphy brush he writes the name of the person he wants to heal in the air as if he was writing on paper.
Type & Uses: Flow ¦ 3 uses ¦ 2 cooldown Rank & Specialization: Junior ¦ Physical Reinforcement ¦ Healing Mana Cost: 8 ¦ 4 Range & Speed: 25m ¦ 10m/s Stats Affected: +2 Speed (wielder only) Description: Runes of light appear up the outside of the user's legs and arms this allowing them to move 2 m/s faster than they could naturally. The runes give off a warmth that is able to heal for junior rank damage, with the use of ammo rules, the wielder need only hold the pendant and speak a person's name to have it be able to heal them.
[attr="class","silasreescroll"]Leonard was coming in late to the party, mostly due to having other assignments running at the time of the scheduled training session. He could have arrived earlier in all honesty, he simply needed to be faster when dealing with his chores and other magic knight duties.
[break][break]
"Well well...I came in at the right time." he mumbled, glancing over his shoulder where his spirit was currently dangling from in a lazy fashion. The lava sabertooth didn't speak much, but he too was curious about the situation at hand. First of all, their Captain was here. Second of all, Hania had just challenged him to claim the vice captain position. Now that was something you do not see every day. Scanning the area, the young redhead would walk over to his brother's side. His energetic twin already down on the dirt ready to work out. Man, he was almost oudoing him when it came to running around all day. Almost. [break][break]
"Hey, brother, did you hear that?" the boy chirped, squatting down and patting Taiyo's shoulder. "Those two are about to throw down." He would add, examining first the long haired mage then the captain then back at Hania. The vermillion would probably need to clear space so taht the two could start going at it without getting interrupted.
[break][break] "Something like this doesn't happen every day. We should give them space. We might get to see the Captain's fire magic in action." He would add, standing back up. "Perhaps is a good occasion to study their tactic closely. It could help us hone our own magic."

The slime mage known as Aesling stood by as Ardere started to speak up, listening to him explain that this training was to both to train to better be able to fight against the daemon and also for new members like herself to better get to know her squadmates. Ardere then told them the ‘warm-up’ they had to do was a shit ton of pushup-s, squats, and jumping jacks. Very much annoying the slime girl but not that she was gonna voice that annoyance.
She did go down to get started on push-ups but her attention was pulled away as two more late arrivals showed up to the area, both with orange-red hair and besides generally looking related one of them confirmed it in saying ‘hey brother’ so that made figuring them for Vermillions easy enough. Not one but two of them. Jeez the slime mage was surrounded by nobility and besides that her general not being as strong as she would hop sorta made her feel a bit weak. As not to be seen as lesser she went right to doing ehr push-ups with a very quick pace for them trying to just get things done faster than the others.
As she came to the end of her push-ups she noticed one of the brothers paused to ask what was next, served him right for being late and not listening that they had to do squats and jumping jacks now. Aesling on the other hand simply got up and transitioned into squats her face already a bit read as she was getting rather sweaty from this all, Aesling really was not one for physical work and it showed even though she did her best to keep her breath even and not look like a freshly caught red herring gasping for air.
Due to her focus on the warm-up and keeping from panting the commoner had not noticed the challenge issued but soon it did catch her attention that one of the squad mates was just sorta staring down the captain face to face. Aesling really did not care for it, it sorta made her feel that whoever that guy is was about to end up derailing the training by taking the attention from the captain and thus making it so very little gets done for the others. The Slime Mage did not feel like standing around watching those two brawl and mess up the training space with their strong magics.
She finished her squats now standing fully to start jumping-jacks her face resembling that of an angry tomato or if not angry then at least annoyed from Hania’s challenge, also annoyed at the late comers that did not get the memo of doing the warm-up HELL one of them was just standing around gauking about the challenge made to the captain. She wanted to berate them but could not both because she felt she would not be able to due to their status and because right now if she tried to talk she would probably break down gasping for air, so angry tomato time it was.

The Beginning of War. Hinokami had been indulging in the fascinating tales of a warmonger wizard, known simply as Eos who traversed the magical world in search of an army to lead in taking over said world. Due to the past events of that senseless war between the Clover Kingdom and Diamond's own, that were told to Hinokami by his parents as well as a certain catastrophe that would haunt many Magic Knights till this day. The soulful child took it upon himself to both mentally and spiritually prepare for whatever battle, challenge or impending attack could come his way.
The book spoke about the transitions of war, speaking on how important it is to look after your comrades in battle for those who have been ridiculed would easily stab you in the back. This specific part that the Kasai was on began to drag the boy deeper into the manuscript, Eos told his readers of true warfare in that to truly beat your oppressor was to deceive them; the supreme art of war being to subdue the enemy without cause of a fight. The weathered pages of the handwritten book fluttered slightly due to the opened window beside Hino, as his eyes traced along the crinkled pages he caught track of a set of captivating rulings that would indefinitely crumble any battalion. Recklessness, which leads to self-destruction; Cowardice which leads to capture; Delicacy of honor which is undoubtedly sensitive to shame and finally Over-solicitude for your soldiers which then leads to worry and trouble. All rulings which the hatchling Kasai heavily agreed with, however before he could dive deeper into the texts a lightning bolt went off in his psyche. THE TEAM-BUILDING EXERCISES!. How could he forget such an important endeavor just a few days after his first mission, normally he'd be on the ball with timings yet it seemed the notion of a coming battle sat heavier on the boy's chest. More than anyone he wanted to be as useful as he can and he'd do everything in his power to assure that the mentality he possessed would be carried through, even if it cost him his life.
Without so much so as a second glance into his room he lurched out for his broom, discarding the manuscript across his bed and jumping out the window. Utilizing his amazing dexterity the Kasai held onto the broom and twirled himself around in the air before hitting the ground, landing softly onto the wooden appendage zipping off into the air with one destination in mind. The Yuiee Estate. The order came directly from his captain and cousin; Ardere Kasai. A man he subconsciously was modeling himself after. Hearing tales of the tremendous power and accolades the man had accumulated during his time within the Crimson Lions spoke volumes to Hinokami in turn activating a latent motivation within himself. Beginning his descent onto the lavish grounds beneath him the boy spotted a plethora of individuals all crowded around doing push-ups, some had started jumping jacks whilst a few were seemingly locked in a battle of words. The wind whistling around them would give enough signal to Hinokami's arrival. Stepping off of the transportation he dusted himself off, the boys mantle flowing effortlessly behind him, the obsidian black suit, though without his beloved blazer, he'd grown fond of completed the look he'd gone for. Passing a silver haired mage without acknowledging them he made a beeline for Ardere. "My deepest apologies for my tardiness Captain, I was reading Eos' tale; The Beginning of War. You've most likely heard of it but I think we could make use of the tactics in there" Hinokami's eagerness and adamant tone was a clear notion of his need to become stronger, to essentially overcome his own limits as well as those around him. By himself sure he was strong, but together the Crimson Lions would mow down any foe in their line of sight. "I apologize to the rest of you, my friends, but there's no use moaning about anything now. Let's keep it going". He looked around at everyone else and nodded to them individually, spotting a clear Vermillion twosome some ways from him he wondered if any of them would be willing to fight with him. Turning his attention to the girl with the ponytail he cocked his head slightly, there was something ethereal about this girl but he decided not to pursue anything and simply gave a warm smile to her. Despite no one telling him to; Hino jumped up into the air and landed back down onto his palms, proceeding to push himself up and down in a steady flow mentally counting as high as his arms would carry him.

[attr="class","ardereescroll"]So many here. This brings me joy I haven't felt in quite some time. Haha. Running through the drills he performed jumping jacks and push ups, as well as squats. Follow me guys. And then we'll go for a run! Admittedly, Ardere was having quite the fun time. His heart filled with exuberance and excitement. To be joyous in a time of war and death was a gift, but this was the gift of being a Captain of such a wonderful squad. He truly could not ask for any other life. This was the one he wanted to protect until the day he died. These were the underlings he stood strong in front of. If a thousand arrows came his way, he'd take them all for those here. [break][break] Welcome late comers. Hinokami. It is good to see you cousin. With all of the fun greetings, he almost hadn't noticed Hania stand and move closer to him. What was asked of him was not surprising, but he did not expect today to be the day that he was asked. I thought I was going to have to ask you myself. I'm glad you are challenging me yourself. You've grown a lot Hania. I know I don't know you as well as Lydia, but I've watched from afar when I can. It would be a dishonor to deny a Ravencrest the right to a Vice Captain challenge. A good chunk of the squad is here now, so what better place than here? Unclipping his cape, he let it float in the wind. Cracking his knuckles and neck, popping sounds emanated from his muscular form. Taiyo. You're in charge of the drills for now. Run them with the squad around the Estate, but do respect the area as we are guests here. Once you are done, you may come back to watch the fight. Turning to face Hania, he felt a strength unlike before. This was a Lion standing before him. [break][break] Unbuttoning his shirt a few time, air flowed through his chest. Inhaling sharply, he could smell the wondrous flowers around the Yuiee Estate. This was a nice place. He'd have to be careful during this exam. I have one simple task for you Hania. I ask that you land but one blow on me if you can. I will not come at you offensively, only defend myself and attempt to out maneuver you. But I will not go easy on you in that endeavor. I will do my best to avoid being hit by you and dispersing your spells. So. Give me your best shot. Flames began to crawl up his skin as his mana began to blaze around him like a bonfire. The Crimson Lion Captain's eyes glower bright orange as he stared down Hania. He felt blessed to have some great Vice Captains, but there was a bittersweet feeling in replacing another. He had confidence in the Ravencrest. Ardere trusted it was not misplaced and the rest of the squad would witness it here today.
Ozma resisted the urge to have his eyebrow twitch as the familiar sound of Leonard Vermillion was heard and he could already feel a headache forming from that , the mute mage hopefully wouldent have to remind the lava mage to keep his magic in check since any damage here would be on his head.Iris seemed to sense his displeasure and spoke thru their link 'Ozma do you not like that mage much' she inquired as her partner glanced at her and nodded a bit 'yes while he is a fellow squad mate he is also an idiot and not wise with his battle plans he wanted to use lava spells in a forest that could catch ablaze/font]' he told her back as she blinked and shook her head 'I see your point still hopefully he knows better here at your home' she said back thru the link. Turning his attention to another voice he saw a few other mages join them, Taiyo the one from the dinner they all had a while back and it seemed the silver haired girl was getting annoyed but before he could do anything about that the captain had already spoken and started them on squad drills.
The paint mage started on his reps with both jumping jacks and pushups before moving onto squats his face and neck shining with sweat from the effort of the reps but not a hint of discomfort on his face as another newcomer showed up and started to do the reps alongside them though he added some flair by doing them as a handstand. Ozma himself didnt see the point since it was more effort for the same effect though he didnt wonder how many people would be watching Hania and Ardere do battle for the vice captain spot. The mute noble hoped not all of them would be focusing on that or training would never get done despite Taiyo now being put in charge of finishing their standard reps to start out with, while that was being said Ozma moved over to the newcomer Aesling and gently tapped her on the shoulder to get her attention since he had been slightly behind her before he gently bowed and Iris would speak for him.
“hello this is Ozma and im his spirit partner Iris he is wondering if after the regular squad training if you might be intrested in some weapon training to broaden your skills a bit when without magic” she said as Ozma smiled at his spirit a bit and waited on the newcomers answer.while he had only a few spells at the moment he knew that his knowledge of weaponry and martial arts were very handy and if he could pass those onto his squad mates then that would help them to grow stronger as well. He could only wonder what her answer would be as he glanced over at the spot where Hania and Ardere were preparing to do battle for the vice captain spot for how long that was the big question.

[attr="class","silasreescroll"]While completing the warm up workout, the group were joined by his cousin, Leonard Vermilion. Better late than never, right? Not too long after, another new member had arrived and from the interaction he had with the captain, he was his cousin. Taiyo guessed since the guy was a Kasai, he would have some sort of fire related magic. Strong Magical ties to the element himself made him smile as he finished the beginning of the warm up. As he stood up, Hania issued the captain a challenge for the vice captain seat. Of course, it was only a matter of time for that to happen considering the squad had been missing its vice captain since she had transferred to the Azure Deer. Accepting the challenge immediately, the captain called on Taiyo to be in charge of finishing the training warm up which made his eyes shoot wide open. The captain chose him. He quickly regained his composure and turned to the squad. The captain wants us to run around the estate; however, we could easily be lost here. Since this is in fact Ozma’s home, we will let him run ahead and follow. Now let’s get running!
[break][break]
Taking off, Taiyo kept a steady pace with the pack. Staying well composed, he continued moving around the Yuiee estate. It surely was nice of them to offer their training grounds to the Crimson Lions. With the way the magical mist and mountains surrounded the estate, Taiyo wondered just how many people got lost there. Even so, it looked cool. Soon enough they were back to the beginning where the challenge was taking place. Hania vs Captain Ardere; of course the captain was strong enough to take on him but he was the type to keep it fair. Even so, it was sure to be a spectacle. Everyone, take a breather! Feel free to watch the challenge.
[break][break]
Seeing the opportunity to get to know the new blood in the squad, Taiyo approached the girl and gave her a friendly smile. Hello, I am Taiyo Vermilion. Welcome to the Crimson Lions. It’s nice to meet you. He didn’t know how she would react to that but he did it anyway. Whenever they finished speaking, he’d go over to the young Kasai and also introduced himself to him. Hello, I’m Taiyo Vermillion. Nice to meet another member of the Kasai family. If I may ask, what kind of magic do you have?
[break][break]
Aside from chatting with the new blood, Taiyo figured he’d catch up with his cousin. He approached his older cousin and smiled. What’s on your mind? Seeing what the new guys can do or showing them what you can do? Either way, I’m happy to showcase and train the abilities and spells I currently have. If the captain thinks we should spar after his challenge with Hania, know that you would be the one I don’t want to fight here. We fight and spar together all the time so don’t take offense to that. I want to try having a different opponent in the event that happens, okay? The two boys were siblings in everything but blood. Raised together, trained together, ate together, escaped boring political family meetings together. Surely, that made the older one protective of the younger; sometimes too protective. When they both became magic knights, Taiyo had to tell Leo that although he appreciated the fact that he wanted to protect him, he was a magic knight and capable of keeping himself safe. The younger was glad that the older understood it. Now here they were, standing in the Yuiee Estate’s training grounds with Taiyo telling him that he’d want to spar with another if that came up. He could only hope that he didn’t offend the older or insulted him either.

TL;DR: Lead the others on the run; spoke with some members.
Rank & Element: Junior Class & Type: Accessory Magic Specializations: N/A Appearance & Lore: The Magic Knight Mantle is an Item in which Magic Knights wear to show the Squad that are in. Each Squad has a different color Mantle along with their own squad logo as well. When these items were built they were made out of a special material. A material that allows them to be unbreakable from any sort of attack, but does not block the wearer from any attacks. Magic Knights of the Clover Kingdom have worn these Mantles for Hundreds of Years. Abilities:
Rank & Element: Junior Class & Type: Magical ¦ Weapon Magic Specializations: Physical Reinforcement Appearance & Lore: The alliance between the Vermilion and the Ravencrest has been one that was said to have been in place since Clover even existed and one of the strongest that still stands to this day.
The scabbard of the sword also keeps with the color scheme of black with gold accents. The blade of the sword is 44 inches long while the grip is 8 inches long. The sword is weighed at 4 lb.

[attr="class","haniaimage"]❝I hear a song of woe shadowing our past in sorrow.❞
[attr="class","haniascroll"]Just after he issued his challenge it turned out that two more members of the squad turned up, the first being Taiyo's cousin Leonard and the latter being their captain's own cousin Hikokami. He hadn't really heard flattering things about the former, he wondered if the family had some sort of defect but he wouldn't voice it but it would explain so much. He had to wonder what was so important that three of the group had decided to turn up late, Taiyo himself should have known better as he had been on a task with him and was training with his sister. They hated people being tardy but then the solar mage was still on the ice mage's shit list so it wouldn't have really mattered at the end of the day.
He has seen Taiyo and Ozma go through the beginning of the exercise regime as did Aesling but the woman seemed to be having more trouble with it. She also seemed to be having some difficulty compared to the others, it would be a hard regime for someone that wasn't used to excessive training so he couldn't blame her. He observed the woman body language, it was clear that she was less than happy at the goings-on he supposed. "I do apologise for my timing for the challenge but I am very rarely at the squad headquarters these days due to my royal knight training or being on mission. This was the best time to do such a thing even in my current condition." she said to the others, he knew that the latter part of that statement would go over everyone's head as his health conditions were kept lowkey. His eyes went to the brightly glowing pendant on his bracelet, he would need to be careful and he knew it.
His attention was brought back as Ard spoke to him once more "You may have had to, in all honesty, I've had no real wish to hold a position within the squad." he said his voice as calm as it always had been, it was surprising confession as the Ravencrest have known to have ambition so longs it didn't negatively affect the kingdom, but he seemed quick content to stay within his lane. "Grown a lot but still have a lot more to do." he said his eyes closed as he looked to the left 'and still a lot of self-loathing to rid myself of' 'Are you going to be able to get rid of that?' 'I do not know.' his hand went to his left side instinctively as he squeezed subtly. The marking that had caused him so much pain in the past and a death he could never forgive himself for.
He had never killed unless there was no other option, he hadn't held the blade when it came to 'her' but 'he' was still the cause of an innocent woman's death. A woman he cherished as a sister. He nodded to the elder males words "I agree, the setting is beautiful." he said taking the outer layer of his hanfu off folding it and placing it on the rock he had been meditating on previously. Normally he didn't mind the flowing outer robe when fighting but this was a little different and so would need to fight appropriately. It was the first time but he removed his grimoire and using his hanfu's belt strapped his silk bound grimoire to his side. He normally didn't allow his grimoire to be seen and he guessed even now it technically wasn't but it was more open than he liked.
'You can't spirit dive, yo-' 'Amostia, please. I know the outcome.' he said cutting his spirit off before he could get into his sentence. He seemed completely serene as he was told his task, he was under no disillusion that this was going to be easy, but then nothing had been up until this point so he was wondering why this would be any different. "Understood." he said his left hand going to his right as he bowed just slightly as a warrior would within the culture he was raised into another. It wasn't a weakness nor was it showing submission, it was merely one warrior showing respect to another. He waited for the others to start running off before he moved into a fighting stance. He knew that the two would likely be around the same speed at base and knew full well that like Valo his captain had the ability to use Ki.
Hania placed his left hand behind his back, his hand moving as if he is holding something within it, a yanyuedao of ice appearing within the hand that is behind his back. The yanyuedao shaft is five feet long with a fifteen-inch crescent blade, at the bottom of the shaft there seems to be a mace, he knew it was a counterweight but it would come in helpful for striking done the less. He quickly dashed forward bringing the yanyuedao around expertly twisting his body as required to dodge whatever counter that may have been coming his way. It was a rare occurrence but he hadn't even opened his grimoire to cast his spell, there was no need for such a trivial thing as he knew his spells backwards and forwards, it didn't stop the ice-blue and white glow leaking from the silk binding it was sat in from escaping. Right now he was focused on his target though he kept his mana senses on high alert as he didn't know what to expect and would need to be able to dodge at a seconds notice depending on how things progressed.

The yanyuedao shaft is five feet long with a fifteen-inch crescent blade, at the bottom of the shaft there seems to be a mace, this, of course, is normally used as a counterweight but can be used to strike. Using ammo rules additional yanyuedao can be created and be given to allies but these are melee-based weapons and do grand damage upon a successful strike. Those that are hit directly with the yanyuedao find themselves affected by serious frostbite and moderate hypothermia.

Type & Uses: Trigger ¦ 6 uses Rank & Specialization: Senior ¦ Attack Creation Mana Cost: 24 per trigger ¦ 45 Recharge Range & Speed: 80m ¦ 40 m/s Stats Affected: +9 control (self) Description: Swinging the blade releases a flurry of what appears to be ice blue feathers, within a two-meter wide arc and a one point twenty-seven centimetres tall. These feathers edges are razor sharp and will cut through fabric and into the skin as if they are paper dealing senior damage. A direct hit will induce symptoms of frostbite and minor hypothermia.
Ozma heard his captain mention that Taiyou was in charge and the mute mage resisted the urge to want to face palm, he trusted his captain completely but it made more sense for him to lead the training if they were on his familys training grounds but that was neither here not there at the moment. As if she could sense his annoyance Iris spoke up.” I dont understand his mindset I know there are other lions here that have been in service longer then you Ozma but if this is your familes home then why not let you run the show you know the layout here better then anyone” she called out before the mute mage shook his head.'the captain must have been focusing on making a decision on the fly so it cant be helped but we can at least still get some training done' he told her thru the link as the captain and Hania would get ready to start their battle for the right to be vice captain. It was something that Ozma was rather interested in since Hania was extremely strong and personally the best fit for the vice captain role if Ozma had a say in anything.
It was then that Taiyo mentioned that they would be going for a run and since he knew the layout best he wanted Ozma to lead them, it made the paint mage want to pull his hair out in annoyance. The area around the estate was not exactly dangerous but not safe either it was easy to get lost, he directed a message to Iris who spoke up on his behalf,”Since the danger of getting lost is high on the outside instead of a run outside the estate it will be a hundred laps around the training ground lets begin” she called out her voice shimmering like a bell but was able to be heard loud and clear. Ozma would then motion for them to follow him as they would go thru the motions and run around the training ground with Ozma leading them and not even losing his breath. As they finished up the Mute noble would see Leonard and Taiyo talking and as much as he didnt want to deal with the lava mage he wondered how skilled the other vermillion was.
“Leonard I trust that you will keep your lava under control while your here and not burn anything” he painted in blue letters to the man before he glanced at Iris who smiled before speaking to Taiyo .”Sir Taiyo Ozma would like to see how your weapon skills are, he hopes they are better then your cousin as my partner was not impressed by his skills the first time they fought” she said as Ozma nodded. The Paint Noble was curious to see how another opponent would stack up compared to how his fight with Leonard had gone he wouldnt deny that he did ambush the vermillion at the same time he had also allowed his focus to be diverted and that had allowed the paint mage the chance to get the drop on him and show him the flaw staring him in the face.
