[attr="class","julienglass2scroll"] Sol could only hear the sounds of Valo or Hinota speaking to him as his world had gone dark but thankfully the cold grip of death wasnt coming to claim him at the moment, after a few moments he felt strength start to fill his body again and he stirred before his eyes opened and his nose was greeted by the scent of apples and raspberrys as felt himself unable to move but his eyes glanced around as he heard both Valo and Hinota proceed to rip into their commander for how much power he had used. From the sounds of it Zavens lack of restraint could have cost the blood mage his life and at the moment Sol was immedately grateful to Hinota for healing him.Sol struggled to be able to speak and move but he guessed that was because of how much damage he had taken in a single instant no doubt his body was in shock and he needed a few before he could move effectivly again. [break][break] It stunned the blood mage that Hinota was so angry at her captain, he knew Zaven had gone overboard but the flower mage had questioned the captain on if he evenr cared about their lives and if he was so reckless that he would risk so much just to get them stronger. Sol had a feeling those words would hurt the captain more then any spell or any blade and at that moment he took a breath before trying to speak.”Hinota please take a breath and calm yourself I know your angry and justifiably so but dont let your anger get to you” he said softly still unable to move from the shock of the attack he had faced. It was then that two voices were heard above them and Sol like the others went ridged as it seemed that two members of the enemy forces had found them and were supposed to be messagers but at the same time the male offered they could fight and possibly make a deal. The crimson eyed noble struggled to move he may have been healing but he knew this was a terrifying postion to be in, he then caught Hinota telling her servants to protect him until he was able to move and he sighed as he flexed his fingers noticing that he was finaly getting movement back slowly.'of all the worst possible outcomes I got knocked out Hinota is having problems of her own and Zanven doesnt know restraint the only one not messed up at current is Valo, damn it I need to move or im dead weight and a sitting duck come on body MOVE!' he thought as he moved his limbs though feeling like lead they managed to start pushing him up slowly. [break][break] He glanced up at Junji and Luli guarding his flank and he managed to get himself up to a knee after a moment though the effort he felt in doing it was draining.'this is the first time I have ever felt this drained I need to be able to handle attacks like that much better' he thought as he pushed himself up to his feet and steadied himself before he looked at the pair,”ok im up tired but im up please go do what Hinota san asked and evacuate the house and thank you again for watching over me I swear I will return the favor” he said his tone was serious and at the end there was sincere gratitude in his voice as he looked at where the two deamons were floating on the debris and Sol glanced down at his sword. He was still nervous about using it since this area was effecting it more then usual but at the point he needed all the strength he could get right now, drawing the blade he glanced at its white and red surface and he swore it was glowing and humming with strength and he felt a throbbing in his hand before he blinked.'wait thats not my hand throbbing am I imagining it or does the blade have a pulse' he thought in astonishment as he got into a ready stance with his sword out in front of him and his grimoire opened and ready to cast a spell in a moments notice. [break][break] “I'm not running away we are a team like Hinota said we will stand and fight together and should we survive ill have some words to say to you Captain Zaven” he said his tone irratated but the dedication in his voice was clear for all to hear as he moved over to be beside Hinota still in a battle stance and he looked at Valo.”Valo show me how strong a Green Mantis is! Show me what it is I should strive for!” he called out intent on firing Valo up to fight since while he himself was still aching and on shaky legs the Fire wielding Mantis was not and he wanted to get his future squad member hyped up. 'how on earth are we going to manage this the training already went sideways now we need to deal with two threats that clearly outrank us in strength, this is without a doubt suicidal if we actually try to fight but still there is no choice' he pondered as he tightened his grip on his katana. [break][break] Sol glanced over where Zaven was and his eyes narrowed a bit, he could only wonder what honestly was going thru the mans head since he had clearly either forgotten that this mana zone hightened his spell strength or he knew and still went overboard trying to train them. Either way something needed to be done later if they were to continue training or there would be even more problems down the road but for now what was most important was fending off this threat and hopefully surviving it as well now if they would succeed or not that was not something that Sol could even fathom at the moment. Just above the midway point, there seems to be a piece of onyx that has been set around the sheath, the top and bottom of the onyx seems to have the same white marble though it has been fashioned to look almost like fur or feathers. Connected to the onyx there seems to be additional ruby fastenings with ruby chains connecting one part to the next, near the top there is a ruby set in gold that leads off to three carmine red tassels. The handguard seems to be made out of gold leading into the hilt a hilt that is just under half the size of the blade that covered in lackered red marble before being surrounded in black ribbon with gold helm and small ruby beads at each crossing pattern of the ribbon. [break][break] The corrupting shadow was made using an unknown method outside of a certain noble family within Clover. This family has been shunned by many other noble houses because of their appearances and they macabre magic that they are born with so choose to remain in the forsaken region instead of the noble. Not a lot is known about this secretive family, it's hierarchy or its family mechanics and they aim to keep it that way, it allows them to continue doing what they are without too many questions being asked. One thing people will notice of this family is that when they pass their trial of adulthood they start wielding a weapon of some sort and how the dynamics of the family will change to that person. Valo Stark
"Don't need a reason to seek strength."
Valo didn't even need to finish his sentence before Hinota starts to heal Sol, a small smile was on his face. He knew deep down she would always come through especially when it was needed most. It was a blind faith that could never be broken. But it was easy to tell she was very angry and upset with Zaven. While Valo was disappointed with the situation, he was more annoyed than actually angry. He believed Zaven made a mistake using such a spell in a magic zone, and perhaps he overlooked what it was capable of. But considering the condition what was Sol was in now, it is clear the action was unacceptable. So he when Hinota shouted her frustration with him, Valo did not stop her at all he just let it all be said because it needed to.
It seemed this night was full of surprises, as they were just dealing with one dire situation another one quickly came up right after another. Just then everyone heard two voices from up above, which caused Valo to widen his eyes. Not one but two figures one male and the other female, and from the looks of them they were not human or friendly. They were Daemon's. The last daemon's Valo had dealt with were Lilitu and her brother Ito. Remembering how things went back then, how helpless he was. How weak he was, and given his best efforts he failed to make difference. But that wasn't the case anymore, he was much stronger now than he was back then. But he wasn't overconfident in his abilities now, in order to deal with this threat they needed to work together. But it seemed Zaven was not on the same page.
The fire mage's eyes never left the two daemon's position. He didn't know how they avoided his Ki sensory, but figuring that out would be for another time. Valo started to chuckle just a little bit as the daemon's spoke, it reminded him of hearing the voices of Ito and Lilitu and Sven back then. It was just something he noted back in his mind, Daemons like to hear themselves talk quite a bit. Lilitu was obviously different from the rest. He started to unbuckled his Green Mantis mantle and let it drop to the floor as he now was really preparing for an all out fight. As he was saying this Zaven was going on about how him Hinota and Sol should run away. But Valo was simply ignoring the orders, he didn't listen to nonsense no matter who it was from. "Zaven you've been quite disrespectful since we've gotten here. By asking us to run, you're spitting on our prides as a Magic Knights and as Royal Knights. We don't run. And stop disrespecting this team." Valo replied to Zaven still looking up at the Daemons.
He heard Hinota's whisper and smirked seeing her forest green eyes made his chest feel warm. "No apology necessary. I never doubted you."
Agneya I know we both got a long way to go, but stay away from harm and continue to be my secondary eyes. My ki didn't alert me to their presence I'm counting on you. Let's use this as our training!
Fighting Daemon's as our training?! Are you actually .... Matter of fact I like that idea! Let's do it! The more we bond, the easier achieving our Spirit Dive will be.
Hearing this from Agneya was not surprising he learned that was just as crazy about battle as he was, if not more actually. The fire spirit got in safe position in the far left for now.
"Hey! Like we said we don't make deals with Daemons! So forget all that switching sides crap! Ive been wanting to test myself against another Daemon for quite sometime, and you two show up! So this is perfect timing!" Valo said to them but his voice wasn't that of anger, or sorrow or even desperation. His voice had nothing but sheer excitement in it, his eyes were sparkling and a big smile was on his face. The Unrelenting Flame was truly thrilled and looking forward to this! Reaching behind him on his lower back he started to put on his red gauntlets अग्नि, Agní. He had yet to actually use them in a real fight, they were a gift from his mother. But he was told that they pack quite the physical punch along with a decent healing effect. He probably didn't need to use the healing spell with Hinota present. Speaking of this was a good time to use the spell of the bracelet she gifted him. But he then considered holding it back for now, for it was not just a simple healing spell it had another function that could be useful later on.
Valo looked over to Sol as he was getting back on his feet and her every word his teammate said, causing the fire mage smile even wider. "Oh! i'll show you! I hope it doesn't disappoint!" Right after he said that the fire mage cocked both his arms back intense blue flames started to encircle his arm. "Shin no Tenka!" Valo called out the name of his spell while punching both arms towards both Daemons, unleashing two powerful streaks of blue flames towards them along with Zaven's Erebus Strike spell!
But he didn't stop just there, he would prepare something else right after but it wasn't another offensive spell. He clapped his hands together causing a twirl of blue flames to appear in front of him. "Acala!" he said summoning one of his new Grand rank golems, which was built for pure defense. The large blue flaming pheonix was summoned right in front of him and Sol and Hinota, for now it would serve as an additional defense just in case things got really bad. He knew Hinota's defenses were superior, but it wouldn't hurt to have an additional support.

[attr="class","zavenreescroll"] The three mages...his team...outright disobeyed his order and while he was angry with it...he knew in his heart that this was the best option...even more so he was sorry that he had hurt another teammate. He was not mentally sound in that regard, and while it may have been harsh...he still stood by his method, even if it was cruel and even if he was seen as a monster...he wasn’t. His eyes never left the daemons that showed themselves even after starting his assault, Hinota said her piece...a dagger he felt metaphorically, then Sol he spoke about wanting words after this and then he proceeded to speak to Valo...who was quiet for a time until he too called Zaven out...calling him disrespectful since they arrived and even saying he was spitting on their pride and the combined team...these dug into Zaven as if he was back at the tower where he lost his life the first time. ”When this is over...I owe you all an apology for my actions...However, for now I can only give my word that I am ashamed of myself, and I will do better...” Zaven said loud enough that the other would hear, breathing slowly for a moment before noticing Valo’s attacks alongside his. ”As the others have made our point clear...we do not negotiate with daemons, my home shall become your tombs!” He said with venom in his tone, he was serious before but this was different, and even as he felt that searing anger in his chest from his scar he did not fear what was about to happen. As stated before...he was at peace with the possibility of his own death. Hraban though was watching from a distance and the spirit had something to say about the whole thing. [break][break]
”Zaven! The key here was to bring your team together, and all you have done is belittle them and have brought turmoil upon yourself...for what gods forsaken reason? Because you were jealous of Valo and Hinota? Because you could not stand that someone as weak as Sol was placed in your care when you have to fight a daemon? That Hinota was even brought here in the first place? FORGET IT! YOU ARE BETTER THAN THIS! That woman is not something you can chase after, that is not your lot in this life...and Sol needs guidance, not just a show of force...and that man and his spirit...the fire one...you should be leaning on him to help you in this time...I am ashamed to call you my master.” The spirit bashed Zaven which was the final cut that finally gave Zaven the clarity he needed to hear. ”Thanks...I needed to hear it.” Zaven’s own anger subsided slowly as he cleared his mind, he wanted to fucking destroy the intruders to his home but for now...he would rely on the fact that his homing arrow was on a path to pierce the heart of the first bastard that decided to speak to the group. (as if it was obvious before his spells are still going off from last post, and he cant really cast another time this round without breaking meta)
The pair of archdaemons looked at Zaven and chuckled, as he tried to order those near him to take the one he himself had injured inside and to evacuate the area to the best of their ability. "How quaint..." the raven-haired woman said with a sinister smile "He believes that we would allow any to escape the reaches of our grasps." he said turning her eyes to the male that stood beside her he remained silent for a moment "If they listen to that order then they really are snivelling rats not worthy of my time or effort, one of our siblings would have been better." he said as if he was almost disappointed that the fun would be ruined before it had even begun, sometimes it was like that but he didn't want to think that this was one of them. Yes, he was a daemon but having pray that would fight back was just boring to him.
The male daemon listened as Zaven tried to explain himself even as he seemingly tried to figure out his own reasoning and if it made any sense. "You. You aren't human really are you." he said almost in an inquisitive way, before Zaven could reply he would continue "You're a dark soul, are you sure you aren't one of ours masquerading as being a mortal?" he would ask, the tone he was speaking with should this to be a genuine question. The woman remained still and silent for a moment before bursting out into laughter "That explains so much, it really does." she would of course await the rebuttal before adding "Your father was ever the willing toy for just a little more power, a little more strength. The underhanded dealings the Blake's done doesn't stop with mortals." she would clarify.
Whether her words were true or not no one would really be able to say, even Zaven himself may not know but perhaps it would be able to answer a few questions that were otherwise unanswered. "My my... was he always so angry?" the woman would ask looking to the male once more. "If I were to hazard a guess it is a family trait." he said sounding disinterested and bored by this point "And even at your current strength you couldn't defeat one of our lesser siblings by yourself and you think you could defeat the pair of us?" he chuckled "He has the same kind of ego as our kind has, he might just be one of us after all." the woman commented giggling in a happy glee that she may have just found a lost sibling that neither of them originally knew about or perhaps forgot about.
The pair watches as he activated his armour, it was clear that he was getting ready to attack but still, neither of them seemed too bothered about that as they had taken no offensive or defensive action. It was clear that they really didn't view the small group in front of them as a threat. Two of them were powerful, one trailing slightly behind and one clearly shouldn't have been there with their current power. They had the potential to be a threat to them but from what they say it was nothing more than a gabble of children playing warrior, to them it was laughable at best and they had a lot more training before they would even worth wasting energy on as far as they were concerned. They merely tilted their head a little as Zaven asked a rhetorical question about if they were fighting before activating a spell and dashing towards them
The male merely sighed as the two of them were surrounded in moving darkness that seemed almost like they were covered in shadowed flames. The darkness defended against the magical arrows with it not taking damage from them or the hit from the mage "You aren't the only one who gains benefit within the confines of this paradise of shadow." the male said with a stoic tone, it would be a tone Valo was all to use to hearing from the daemon Ito and more recently Hania. The woman turned her eyes to the floral mage as she tried to speak to the unconscious blood mage and chuckled "He can't hear you, dear. He's lucky he was just knocked out and not killed by the reckless captain you follow to your doom." she said holding with an almost gentle coo as she spoke to her.
"I have to ask, are you sure you should be doing this and not gabbing with the girls?" she asked, the woman almost seemed concerned with the petal that was crying before her. Though there were attacks coming towards them she knew she was perfectly safe from harm thanks to the strength of her brother's defences. She laughed as she saw the delicate flower show her thorns and reprimand the very man that was supposed to lead them, neither daemon could fault her she was indeed correct. That a single attack if strong enough could have taken out their ally which would have been hilarious to the woman, seen as idiotic by the male and would have shone a darker light on the man who was meant to be leading the charge against their mother. "I mean she isn't wrong on that one." the male finally said "You are more likely to kill them before the day we are properly destined to meet." he explained with an apathetic tone.
"Oh ho, so the other side awoke then..." the woman commented walking forward the shield still surrounding her, "Don't fret I'm merely curious and willing to give answers." she said watching the young woman as she peered at the purple within the forest green eyes "You, my dear have a broken spirit, it can never be fixed so don't even bother trying to make it one piece healing magic only goes so deep." she said calmly continuing to almost inspect her eyes. "Had your spirit been in one piece you'd have a balance of offensive and defensive, you'd also most likely not be little miss pacifist." she said walking back ignoring any attacks that came over way knowing her brother would cover her.
"The side you show day to day is not a mask you are just all sugar, spice and everything nice of the world. That darkness you feel, that you hear is the broken part, the part that holds all your darkness... all your offence is in that side and it's clawing to get out girl and one day... one day in the near future it will get out." she explained her eyes going to Valo "And the man closest to you will likely be your first victim, so there's that to look forward to I suppose." she explained with a smile, she didn't care about the mental damage this would do to the young woman and it showed. The pair listened to her orders to her servants and spoke about their duties as knights and they would either kill or be killed "Mother would be ever so angry if we killed one of her children." the man said as if this was a known fact.
"I don't think she knew that one by the look on her face." the woman said with a smile "Surprise! You're a witch, not a human meaning we have the same mother!" the woman said with a gleeful tone before tapping her cheek thoughtfully "It may explain the broken spirit but you'd have to ask mother more about that." she said with a shrug at the end of the day she didn't have all the answers but was having fun giving the ones that she did have in the hopes it would shut down the support mage for a while and it seemed to be working as far as she could tell. For how long, however, she didn't know as she knew they would try to get her to focus if she fell into her pit of despair, it was wonderful to watch in her opinion.
The floral mage said it wouldn't be the leader alone making the sacrifice that she would remain, that if they fell it would be together and not him taking the brunt of this by himself. It didn't mean much to the two archdaemon standing in front of them. She went on to say who would be best to support him were and that she was sorry for his childhood but it gave him no right to do as he did and if it continued then there was a good chance that they would walk away and deal with training on their own. This was something else they couldn't fault the doll-like mage for "Tactical prodigy I am guessing" the male finally spoke once more his eyes directly going towards Hinota his eyes showing curiosity as if he was pondering something, for him, the battlefield had all but come to a standstill.
"Perhaps when you return home to your family we can play some chess or would you prefer to play go, little sister?" he said his voice uncharacteristically softer for that brief moment. It was unclear whether or not what they were saying was true but by the tones used it would be easy to believe that they believed it was. It was then they caught a slight whisper that the floral mage had done but because she had been so careful about the volume she spoke and with the flurry going on around them they couldn't pick up her words, it mattered not to them in all honesty as this just made things interesting in their eyes. It was then that the knocked out blood mage decided to stir "Oh, rise and shine..." the woman said before looking around her surroundings "Well... um... welcome back is better I suppose." she said with a shrug.
"I wouldn't say that she's angry, this is her upset" the male would say and he studied the floral mage "He's right the eyes were swirled if she was angry they'd be pure royal purple but they aren't" the woman continued, of course, this was only a guess on her part but she knew her own eyes changed depending on things so thought there was a good chance that the flower mage would be the same way. The pair watched as the blood mage got to his feet slowly but surely, this was good news because they wouldn't wanna kick a dog while it was already on the ground, there was no sport in that. "We thought we may have lost you but it seems you really are as resilient as a cockroach." the woman would say as she clapped her hands in glee.
"How are you intending to return the favour when you can barely stand?" the man would ask "There's no denying that if you survive long enough you will be a powerhouse in your talents, but, at current, I'm pretty sure the weakest of us would be able to kill you without needing to lift a finger." he would continue this was a backhanded compliment as the blood mage would have been well aware of his downfalls and weaknesses but at the same time at least he was admitting he had potential although he didn't believe he'd live long enough to be able to reach it. The male looked to the blade for a moment "Well that isn't made by a normal smith or even one of the more famed ones." he again took a moment to ponder something over "Are you a member of the Delothosin or did you steal the blade from one of their members?" he would ask.
Zaven himself would know of the Delothosin as he had one in his command, the spatial mage Elenor who he himself recruited during the Diamond war when she was still doing her adulthood trial on the border between Diamond and Clover. He knew her family was by far one of the most secretive to the point not even the location of their families estate was known. The little he did know was they were all albino, they went through an adulthood trial, they were blessed with more macabre magic and you never wanted to touch the weapon they carried without permission or a broken hand would be the least of your problems. "I doubt you are one as you have pigment but the weapon is undeniably one that comes from that family. I'd return it before they come hunting for you little boy." the woman would say.
Like with Zaven and Hinota it was unclear if they were speaking the truth on the matter but they believed that they were and to them that was all that mattered. Like that the injured mage who was still healing moved to be standing next to the pacifist speaking to Zaven about how he was going to have some words from him after which saying roughly the same thing the floral mage had previously. They watched the subtle changes in the blood mages body as he came to the realization that currently, he was no match for the pair that stood in front of him, after all, he had just been knocked out by the person that was supposed to be leading them with a single spell. The male had to wonder if he was angry at what had happened or embarrassed that it did happen.
"Well said that man." The male clapped lightly in approval "They are warriors like yourself and telling them to run just insulting to them as such." his eyes went to the three younger mages for a moment "One offensive, one neutral and a support." he commented, his eyes went onto Valo for a moment "You have been touched by at least one of our kind and yet remain untouched at the same time, you wear an item of daemon design and again you remain untouched by its energy. I am intrigued as to how this is possible." the male said, it was clear he was genuinely perplexed about this matter "Perhaps you would be willing to help me understand how this can be." from what he could tell there was no marking showing a pact had been made or that he belonged to one of their kind and yet here he was unfazed by it.
It was then he saw the brief exchange between the floral and the fire mage he could make out what was said one way but not the other, but given what he was seeing he could only imagine it was part of a strategy to make them stronger. It was a sound one and he was impressed that they would think to use a spirit in such a way. The woman was almost getting as huffy as a toddler because now she was getting bored and it was seen all over her face. "My, my he does have a big mouth. Please... please... please can I shut it? I promise I won't kill him, mother would be most cross if I did." she even sounded like a child that had too much sugar as she spoke currently, it was as if she wasn't completely there at times.
The male just sighed and rolled his eyes waving his hand dismissively as if telling her to go right ahead "No killing, no maiming and no bitching if your dress gets ruined." he said as he moved to a bit of debris leaning against it, it was clear he had no intention of interfering but he also had no intention of lowering the shield he had around her either. "Fine! Fine!" she pouted and grinned, in her mind it shouldn't take that long to deal with them but she was willing to play with her food for now so to speak. "Oh, you've fought our kind before..." she tapped her finger to her bottom lip as if she was trying to think of something "Nope, it mustn't be important currently so let us dance little flame." she said with a giddy squeal of happiness.
The defence spell held but between the two strikes and the one that had come from Zaven it was clear that it had taken damage "You have until this shield fails and then I'm stepping in." the male said strengthening it to its full strength once more, he knew he could do this a few more times but likely would only do it one more time so she could have her fun. It would be quite a while before the group would be ready to meet their opponents but this would give them at least a taste of what they needed to be prepared for. "Aren't you afraid you'll burn the flower you are trying to defend? Then again why someone would come to draining looking like they are ready to be married off is beyond me." the woman commented shaking her head wondering what the hell was going through these mortals minds.
The time of talking had come to an end and now the fighting was about to begin, for now all that was known was that the male either used shadow or dark magic, but nothing was known about the woman as she had yet to show any traits of her magic. Soon enough that would change but she was going to make sure they worked for it. The enemy knew what elements their opponents used so currently had the upper hand whether it would stay that way was another matter entirely. One thing was for certain the scales were balanced in the daemon's favour currently and they weren't about to let that momentum changed, then again in their mind even if the momentum was to change they would be able to turn it around easily and so didn't look worried in the slightest about the threats that had come their way.
[attr="class","zavenreescroll"] They spoke as if they were all mighty, but the thing was…Zaven knew that if it could bleed, it could be killed and he was not going to fall here, and he was not going to let his people fall here either. When he heard them being called rats his eyes stared daggers at the male daemon, he had the most interest in killing now as his body reacted with a killing intent as he was feeling the edges of his sight turn red. After he explained himself to his team though the male daemon spoke again, calling Zaven out as being not human and then trying to goad him into a trap or something as he questioned whether Zaven was masquerading in the mortal world. Then the female daemon chimed in as well and spoke about his father wanting power and that it would make sense for Zaven to actually be one of them. [break][break]
After his words the female daemon spoke again about his anger, the back and forth causing the red tint to begin taking over. They disregarded him, and just further poked him as Zaven wanted to see the looks on his companions faces, but he did not dare to look away, but a fear was rising in him…uncertainty in his own being and he wanted answers. It was not something he could get now as he moved to attack and destroy the intruders into his domain, but his attacks seemed to have no effect as they moved to talk to the rest of the members of his team. Honestly it was all a facade, it was to try and goad them all into thinking unclearly. ”This is all to get into our heads, which is the obvious game here. We can beat them…” Zaven said with a cold tone in his voice, he knew their power would be boosted like his while in his domain…he had to come up with a plan. That shield was just a means to tire them out.
[attr="class","julienglass2scroll"] Hearing Valo declare he would show his strength Sol smirked a bit though he was still exhausted from taking so much damage, as much bravado as he put on internally he was still worried since he was bearly on his feet but he would not give up. As the pair of deamons corrected him Sol blinked as he glanced at Hinota subtly noticing the change a bit more before he caught the female deamon threw another jab at him by calling him a cockroach for not expiring which caused the blood mage to turn his gaze at her with eyes burning with malice behind them as his ruby eyes almost seemed to glow maliciously, the dark haired mage was not an evil person far from it since he tried to help when he could and he never judged people at first glance. That said the mage had dealt with negative treatment all his life and while he learned to ignore and not care about it now the darker emotions it had created were still in him and seethed at times but it was something he knew made him even more adept at curses then most people. [break][break] Sol knew he could vent that malicious intent at enemies of the kingdom and for a better purpose then harming just for the sake of harming however he was brought of his his musing by the deamon brother who questioned how he would return the favor when he could barely stay on his feet “just because im winded doesnt mean im out of strength yet “ he said his conviction still firm, while being insulting at first didn't give him credit by stating that he would be a powerhouse with time if he didnt get killed first.as much as Sol knew his weaknesses he silently accepted that small bit of praise at his potential though he still wasnt sure considering it was coming from an enemy, upon the male seeing his katana he posed a question that made the blood mages eyes go wide and made him freeze up. Not from fear that he was a thief as he wasnt but the mention that the blade was from a particular family. He had been asked if he was a member of the Delothosin family or if he had stolen the blade which made the mages red eyes drop to his sword for a second looking at it before back at the,”I am no thief I found this blade during a mission and it called out to me I wouldnt steal” he explained his tone icy but internally his mind was racing with questions. [break][break] The question had made him wonder if perhaps he did have a connection with this family since it was mentioned that while he had a blade that was no doubt a Delothosin weapon he didnt show other traits but the thing that had him wondering if it was true was the connection he had with the sword, it had called out to him in the tower and it was impossible to ignore and he was beyond possessive of it to the point he didnt let anyone else even handle it.as much as Sol knew this might just be to rattle him like they were doing with Valo now it was still hard to push away the possibility that it could be true . The blood mage steeled himself as the time for talking ended and he settled into a ready stance his katana in position to unleash its power should the mage call on it as Zaven tried to rally them and try to get this to ignore the words that were meant to cause discord in them.”we have to win otherwise who knows what might happen” he said as he looked at Hino then at Valo and Zaven and waited for the moment to strike. He knew it would happen any moment the question now was when. [break][break]

Valo Stark
"Don't need a reason to seek strength."
This would be Valo's second encounter technically with new daemons, given his really long encounter with the previous ones he dealt with in Kikka. They no longer instilled him with fear, or a sense of dread. They were most certainly different and very rare to encounter, and of course they were not to be taken lightly. He didn't underestimate them not at all, but now he felt more confident in himself to make a difference. But of course he was angry, an intense fury growing from within. He had to bury friends and family that last time he dealt with daemons. He would never forget that, and he would never forgive them. But his anger didn't make him sloppy and it didn't cloud his judgements. In fact it did the opposite it made him more focused.
Ever since Kikka had ended Valo had been itching almost seeking out that challenge again. He had trained and made himself into what would be considered a very powerful magic knight in the modern era, on the list as one of the strongest possibly in Clover. But since then there had been a lack of challenge, a lack of him actually having to try his utmost hardest. He still had a ways to go though, and he knew that but it was difficult when things almost seemed to easy. But with the Daemon threat that is exactly what he wanted, he almost needed it. To prove to himself now that he could make a difference this time around.
Much like the daemon's he dealt with in the past, they liked to hear themselves talk quite a bit. All Valo wanted to do was fight if he was being honest, he could care little for what they were saying. Even when they disclosed whatever was inside of Hinota, might make him the first target and it was likely he would perish. Valo doubted that heavily, whatever was inside Hinota she would beat it. He didn't think otherwise on that matter, and no one could convince him too.
The Daemon's were revealing allot of information on Zaven, Hinota and even Sol. Zaven might not be human, Hinota was a witch, and even Sol might be from another family called the Delothosin because of the sword he had. Valo never felt more at ease being a regular commoner, he didn't have to worry about such things nor did it matter to him. The male daemon even asked Valo about his necklace that was given to him by Lilitu questioning on how he managed to use it without being touched by it's daemonic energies. The relic itself started to glow signaling that the wraiths that were inside, wanted to be released. But Valo couldn't risk that right now, at their current power they wouldn't be able to help much. "You guys sure talk allot." was all the fire mage said on the matter, while his hands were on his hips. But as the female started to speak on the fact she wanted fight, his eyes lit up with intrigue. She wanted to fight but she wasn't going to kill him, that was unfortunate. It meant she wasn't fighting with her full capabilities. She was confident that she could win without going all out, Valo grinned and held out his right hand gesturing for her come to him. So they could finally get started.
She commented on whether he would be afraid about burning the flower he was trying to defend. He was confused by what she meant, and assumed she was referring to Hinota. "Your making a mistake underestimating her, and assuming she needs protection." the fire mage said with a casual tone. He large fire golem Acala was still active and stood in front of him as a defense. The fire mage waved casually at the female daemon taunting to her. "Are you coming? Or are you gonna talk some more?" he said with a smile on his face.
Name of Spell: अचल, Acala (The Immovable) Element: Fire Rank: Grand Size: 3.5 Meters Mana Cost: 50 | 25 Type of Golem: Guardian Applicable Perks: Puppet Master Description:
The Acala a new type of golem Valo has constructed. The Acala's objective is for defense, hence the meaning in the name The Immovable. Acala is a large blue flaming phoenix golem, with wide wings that are used to cover Valo or any ally from incoming attacks. The size of it's body is 3.5 meters, but the size of each wing is 2.5 meters for incredibly large wings. Do to it's large blue flaming wings, it can take flight although at a slow speed. Acala is not built for speed, like Valo's other golems. But it's impenetrable defenses make up for it, but it's attack power is not to be taken lightly for it can be devastating. Each attack from Acala from any part of it's body will inflict severe fire damage as well. Acala can be used for transportation, following the transportation rules from grand rank golems. Carrying five people at a time, at speeds of 12 m/s. They fully respond to commands given by it's user through a mana connection and also verbally. The Acala are usually always summoned as a pair, following the ammo rules for grand rank golems.
[attr="class","tamaflowersscroll"] Hinota remained silent taking in everything that was being said trying to filter the relevant information but given who it was coming from that was a tricky web to unweave. There was no saying just how much of this information was true and if it was it was then deciding just how to use the information. She didn't believe for a moment that her captain was a daemon masquerading as a mortal, that was senseless babble to get into his head, she knew that he was no saint but then who was anyone to cast that stone as everyone had their flaws, their weaknesses and their own vices. There was, of course, the issue that she didn't know just how dark of a past the man had but it wasn't her business to go snooping for such information as she wouldn't like it done to her. Then again there wasn't much to her past given her upbringing. [break][break] She turned her eyes to the woman "I am quite sure this is my path." she said simply she knew she didn't look like the standard magic knight especially at the moment, but then, she was brought up to be sent to the selection process to become part of the imperial harem or to become a bride to a prince. It was why she was taught to dress as she was, why her makeup, hair, scent was always on point. Why she could make her own incense, that she could play several instruments, dance, embroider, flower arrange, play chess and cook. She learned tactics and politics though her parents didn't want her to, but, she knew just how dangerous the dragon's den they were wishing her to walk into was, she refused to walk into such a place unprepared. [break][break] It was one of the very few arguments that she had won against her parents in her younger life and they couldn't fault her logic and so she was given what she needed to learn. It was more than what they bargained for as she learned how to read the tides of battle and could attempt to move the flow of it to be more beneficial. In her case that meant to protect as much life as possible on both sides, of course, she wanted to win the battles she was in but that was second to the loss of life because in her mind could it really be classed as a victory if the cost was high? She was brought out of her train of thought why the next words that were spoken to her. She had just been notified of her race, she closed her eyes for a brief second to think on her reply. [break][break] "Even if I was a witch which would make a lot of sense in all honesty, I would not have the same mother. I am not a daemon, neither am I daemon touched." she opened her eyes now looking completely forest green. "My mother raised me from the day of my birth and though I may think of her as strict, but, the things she and my father do are for my own good." her voice was soft almost distant as she spoke. She knew that Valo who knew everything would have a few thoughts on such words and would disagree that it was for her own good. She knew as harsh as they could be with her she had a very blessed life compared to others who had to worry about where their next meal was coming from or if they would even have a roof over their heads com morning. [break][break] "Don't insult me with such foul words, I only have two siblings and need no other." she gripped her sleeves, she couldn't let their words get to her but it had gotten her thinking "Also if you are only playing chess you are miles behind me." she didn't care how arrogant that made her sound at the moment. She knew they were stronger than her but she couldn't waver, she also knew that her darkness shouldn't take control right now as though she had no idea how strong they were she would need to at least try to mitigate some of their damage. It wasn't exactly a situation she had hoped to find herself in when she arrived but noted that begrudgingly Luli and Junjie had done as she had requested and moved into the estate to help get people into safe areas, at least that was one less worry for her. [break][break] "Sol, please be careful we are at a disadvantage." she commented in a low enough tone that only he would hear. She was still listening to the pair as they went backwards and forwards "I am not a flower, I am a magic knight and he shouldn't worry about using his magic around me because I don't worry about it!" she said her voice holding conviction as she spoke louder than she ever had in the time she had known the three men "I don't need people to protect me, I am perfectly capable of doing such things on my own" she was sick and tired of being treated like she was some damsel in distress, just because she didn't fight and dressed the way she did meant nothing to her. There was no other mage in the kingdom as skilled in healing as she was at current and her defences were second only to her own vice-captain. [break][break] There were very few that could see the doll-like exterior she had and Valo was one of them, he was helping her realize a lot about herself. It was was one of the many things she loved about the man she had met mere months ago. Her eyes then looked to Sol once more "I can introduce you to Elenor if you like, she is a member of the Delothosin family, she may be able to answer some of your questions" she said with a small tone watching as Valo went in with the first attack against their enemy, she didn't have anything to boost him as much as she wished she did. Clasping her hands in front of her face as she closes her eyes as if she is ready to prey "Valo..." she whispered around him a flurry of differing sweetpea petals begin to dance around as if caught in a breeze, they, however, the smell of blackberries, he'd now feel lighter on his feet as she brought her arms down. She didn't know how well this was going to go but she would do her best.

A person may think that this was a defensive spell or even a healing spell but at current, the spell isn't fully active. As the butterflies start flying above her they release white and red lily petals that smelled of peach and apple blossoms it would be easy to think that it was a small area of effect but as it isn't active this is not the case. Saying the word 'Reflections' is how she activates the true abilities of this spell is unleashed as the dual coloured butterflies seem to separate and turn into a pair of phoenix are created one that is made from blue lotus petals that smell of summer flowers and the other of pink lotus petals that smell of cherry blossoms. With the use of ammo rules, an additional pair can be created so longs as she has the required control to fly around additional allies. Hinota has no real control of the pair of phoenix other than sending them to fly over the person they are meant to protect. [break][break] As they fly around the person in question blue and pink lotus petals fall from their wings, as the pink petals touch the person who it is flying around they are healed for senior rank damage and can regain +15 each round the spell is active. (The regen does not affect Hino if the spell is used on her), those under the blessings of the pink Phoenix find that it will actively try and cleanse them of any curse, hex, poison, venom or debuff that may be on them as per the required clashing rules. It is also able to regrow digits like fingers in two rounds and regrow vital organs in four rounds. The blue phoenix on the other hand acts as a defender, as its petals touch the person they seem to gain an almost blue miasma like mist around them that will protect them from grand rank damage, if the shield isn't destroyed then at the beginning of the following round it will repair itself.

Kikka is a town known to be the defensive foot-hold for the Clover Kingdom, it is the town that sits in the grey area of what could be considered the noble region and the common region. It is due to this that there is a diverse range of people and backgrounds that called this place home. [break][break] A young fire mage found himself getting into trouble when he decided to steal some vegetables from a garden of jewellers. The mother of the family was the one that caught him and even told the boy and his mother that they just needed to ask due to them having more than enough. It was the beginning of a new bond between the family and the fire mage. [break][break] Over time the boy grew and where he was wanting to learn the next flashy fire move from the former purple orca. She would tell him that he needed to learn how to walk before he tried to run or those he cared about would get burned by those same flames that treasured so much. Of course, being young he didn't understand what she was getting at. [break][break] The woman's husband attempted to teach the street smart and somewhat rough male his craft. He, of course, got bored real quickly because crafting jewellery was a slow process that often was very detail orientated. Still, the man tried. On the day the fire mage was scheduled to leave Kikka for the exams the man called the young mage into his workshop. [break][break] He was just finishing up a double ring set and told him to put every wish and promise he could into a single flame and release it onto the ring. Somewhat sceptical the fire mage did what he was asked and thought it was for some sort of trinket for the woman that had helped him grow. The man placed the ring into a box and handed it to the budding mage. [break][break] "Valo, we see you as our son and we are proud to see the man you've grown into. You've helped create something that is unique and special, keep it with you and give it to someone that you believe deserves what you put into it." [break][break] The now young man gave bravado with his normal attitude but took the ring. He held onto it for three years until something terrible happened. The family that he had loved so much was taken from him. The one that had seen him at his most vulnerable and had helped him through the grief was a young woman. A woman who themselves couldn't fight due to their beliefs. [break][break] He remembered the ring from all those years ago and offered it to her, telling her if she was ever in danger just to call him and he'd come running.

[attr="class","temppost"] Fire, ruin, darkness, and ash were the things Magnus dreamed about as the night passed. He awoke with a stir, a pang of nausea nipped at his stomach along with the small paddling of paws. He opened his eyes slowly only to see his paint spirit Fantelo staring at him with a worried expression, he brushed his fur back offering a small reassuring smile. Though as the memories of his dream faded away slowly, Magnus couldn't help but obsess over the lingering thoughts that hung in the forefront of his mind. Often it could be said that dreams held meaning, and the last time he had such nightmares had been when his daughter passed, it took years of meditation, lucid dreaming practice, and traveling to clear his mind of such heavy burdens that plagued it in order for him to get a good nights sleep. Though now with this dream a small worry played within his mind that perhaps he would have to repeat the process of cleaning himself of such negative thoughts. Or perhaps maybe it was an omen?
This morning Magnus was in the room inside the Blue Rose base, he made he found himself getting ready for the day, he found himself going to a relatively empty men's bathroom, which he enjoyed as there weren't really any other males besides him that were often around in his squad. This meant unlike many of the women cleaning quarters that he was much more quiet and lonesome, though he enjoyed having a place to get ready that wasn't heavily occupied. Though as he got ready he found himself staring in the mirror, reflecting on his recent adventures and travels, from helping a Leshey to defeating a summoner, traveling, gaining a Paint Spirit, and then some. Magnus found that he didn't truly know what to make of his dream but as the embers of it faded away he decided not to press too much thought into it. He washed his hair and bathed Fantelo, he used a variety of soaps and smell goods today he smelled of sandalwood, rose, and sage.
He made his way to the Blue Rose kitchen area and prepared breakfast, not just for him but the entirety of the squad, after all, Magnus was an early riser by nature and often decided that when he was up he should use it to help the betterment of the squad whether that be through cooking, cleaning, or running errands. He found he enjoyed it, that doing such brought back the time of his youth, and who better to do such servant-like needs than an Aurelius? After cooking he received a summons from Alyssa and upon having a conversation with him he found that he had been chosen to be a Royal Knight, he didn't know what to say or how to respond. He asked for an hour to reflect upon it and thus it was granted. He knew that Alyssa had been working on the decision for quite some time ultimately wondering who to choose but was shocked to find that it was him she had chosen, feeling honored he wanted to accept for just those reasons, but he knew that being a Royal Knight would expose him to danger and new threats, unlike anything he had experienced before.
He took him only 15 minutes of true consideration for him to decide, after all, he simply asked himself what his daughter would do and what she would say, and he knew for a fact that it would be yes, and that was simply because she held a sense of justice, a sense of duty and obligation, his daughter was always assiduous in that manner. Something she got from him no doubt, and as such he returned to Alyssa's office and accepted. She gave him a letter with the Wizard Kings seal of approval as well as a personal letter of her own to give to Zaven Blake, Captain of the Golden Dawn, he was told to head toward the Blake Estate and was given a simple map with instructions on how to get there. Alyssa had all these things ready within mere seconds as if she knew he'd say yes all along. Though that was something he highly admired about his Captain, she was cunning and prepared. He gave a courtesy bow to her and made his way toward the door to the base.
Magnus took the little carriage-shaped trinket out of his inner pocket, tossing it outward in front of him and watching as it expanded into a flying carriage equipped with six-winged horses. He made his way inside the carriage, and sat down on the plush cozy seats, using the map to navigate via will and mana. He took a sip from his teacup, careful not to spill any on his suit, today he wore a black suit jacket, slacks, a white shirt underneath to make his sapphire blue tye stand out more, alongside a rose folded pocket square of the same color in his left breast pocket to give a splash of color and elegance, alongside sapphire blue socks and black leather dress shoes.
Within hours Magnus found himself arriving at the Blake Estate, having to lower himself to stick as close to the roads as possible in case of an attack, after all, one never knew what fully lurked in a grand magic zone, this had been his first time visiting the grand magic zone and as such he found it eerie and displeasing. Though thankfully his ride was short thanks to his map, although he knew without it there was a very good chance he could've gotten lost. Eventually, Magnus landed his carriage, shrunk it back into a trinket, and placed it in his pocket, he fixed his Blue Rose mantle, and Fantelo manifested himself on his shoulder, though unlike his usual cheer the antlered cat spirit seemed to be on edge, his fur rose, and his tail whipped back and forth like a club, he hissed and Magnus could nearly feel the aggression coming off of him. "Turn back," Fantelo muttered to Magnus before he even had the opportunity to ask him what was plaguing his mind. "Turn back now!" Fantelo growled and hissed.
Magnus was taken back by his spirit's attitude and words, but if it was truly so frightful Magnus could only wonder what lay ahead, he opted not to listen to his Spirit as he caught a glimpse of a servant presumably of the Blake family running around frantically. He ran up to them asking them what was wrong and the only thing the servant could mutter out after stuttering was the word "Daemons". Magnus's eyes went wide, he couldn't understand what daemons were doing here or why, and for them to arrive so soon. To his knowledge, this was supposed to be a meeting and a training session of some sort, perhaps this was a trick of some kind? But Fantelo's behavior was enough to make him believe what he heard was correct. He asked the servant to point him in their direction after telling them to get to safety, though these were servants of the esteemed House Blake, surely they had some form of contingency plan for safety and evacuation. As such Magnus made his way out toward the rest of the magic knights having heard that they were standing their ground, grabbing his paintbrushes out of the small pocket on the front of his grimoire satchel.
Magnus abandoned all thoughts of fleeing, he knew he wasn't the strongest, fastest, or even the most experienced but he'd be damned if people were in need and he stood around and do nothing. If he was to die, he was going to do it with dignity, otherwise, he had no right to look into his daughter's eyes when they were once again reunited. Magnus rushed out to the area of the other magic knights, he didn't recognize them all but could see their Royal Knights mantles and noticed mages from Crimson Lions, Green Mantis, and of course the Golden Dawn, this of course was only due to the fame they had all acquired. Though the two Golden Members, he had met and worked alongside before, as they had helped him rescue children some belonging to House Aurelius from a dungeon during the Spirit Festival. Magnus began to stride over with carefully placed steps, aiming to put himself near Hinota. He opened his mouth the speak as his eyes took in the two odd beings in front of the magic knights, and the sight at the hand of the rest of the magic knights readying for battle, he held his paintbrushes between the spaces within his fingers. "I apologize for my tardiness, Sir and Zaven, and Lady Hinota. I do hope you can forgive me for it. Though something tells me there are more pressing matters at hand." His grip on his paintbrushes tightened as his eye locked on to the two foes ahead, one of whom seemed to have some form of shield up. Odd indeed, and the frightening sensation he got from them both made his skin crawl, perhaps he was over his head, but he was here now, and there was no turning back.

Summary: Magnus gets word from his Captain that he's been chosen to be a Royal Knight, he ask for time to consider and its granted, after taking a short while to reflect on it he chooses to say yes, he's given a small map and instructions and told to go to the Blake Estate, he makes his way there. Once arriving his paint spirit Fantelo begins to act strange and aggressive and he sees the servants running around frantically, he ask one of them what happened and learned Daemon's have appeared. He makes his way to the location of the others, and attempts to move toward Hinota and speaks, apologizing to both her and Zaven about being late (even though its not his fault), but ultimately acknowledges there are more pressing issues at hand to worry about.

Rank & Element: Junior | Paint Class & Type: Imbued | Magic Trinket Magic Specializations: Golem Creation Appearance & Lore: Click For Image A Magical Ornate Paint Brush Set that comes with five 4-inch Paint Brushes in total all with different widths and styled bristles. The paintbrushes are ornate in design, with swirls of small patterns and silver in color. They have purple bristles that fade into white at their tips. Nothing is too special about these paintbrushes on their own except they are sturdy and have no need for a palette as they are capable of producing any color of paint on their own with a small infusion of mana. These paintbrushes were a gift to Magnus from his mother when he was younger and as such he cherishes them dearly but also uses them for his magic. However, as they are a magical set, they all share the same durability, thus if his weapon was to break even if it was just one paint brush due to an attack capable of destroying a junior rank weapon all of them would break. Outside of the fact that they can release paint, these weapons are nothing more than blunt objects. As such, they cannot be used to stab or pierce without the usage of a spell or its ability. Abilities:
Type & Uses: Flow | 3 Active, 2 Overheat Rank & Specialization: Junior | Golem Creation Size: 1 meter Mana Cost: 8 Per Flow | 4 Upkeep Type of Golem: Scout Description: Click for Image of Golem Magnus channels his paint magic into the movement of the paintbrushes amplifying the paint into a large amount from the tip of the brushes. He uses shades of white, gray, pinks, greens, and yellows to create the shape of a humanoid body, specifically a woman with long hair. The paint flows to life, taking greater depth and shape from the image, revealing a portrait of a young woman with dark gray to green hair, pink mystical eyes, a gray dress, and glowing pink and yellow flowers blossoming from her. The golem has a sheen to its skin like wet paint. The golem is a Scout type and as such is built for speed, flight, and sensory.
A masterfully crafted two-inch long white gold pin in the shape of a paintbrush in the middle of the handle lays a very rare unique sapphire blue moonstone.
At the origins of house Aurelius being recognized as nobles a set of eight unique pins were made, each pin was designed with a specific artistic or scholarly pursuit in mind and each having a differing type or rare gem or variant of a semi-precious gem inlaid on it somewhere. One was then given to each elder of the house.
The way they decided who would wear which pin was dependent on the pursuit that aligned with each pin. This meant the elder who found beauty in the craft of calligraphy would be given the pin which had the scroll and quill whereas the elder who found beauty in gardening would wear the pin-shaped like a rose in full bloom.
As an elder retired they would pass the pin to their successor. Who would then take on the responsibilities of every elder that wore the pin before them? It is believed that every elder on their final day of wearing the pin puts a slither of their mana into it so they might be able to guide those that come after them. Some elders have said they have felt the presence of their ancestors from the pin, especially during times of great turmoil or stress.
They've said as they become more attuned with their craft and the understanding of their duties the pin has given them a strength they didn't know they otherwise possessed. It is because of this these pins are seen as more than just a status symbol but something to be proud of and protected so that the future of the family can continue in its pursuit to serve those that would require their services.

The male daemon remained leaning against the tree he had moved to previously watching as things unfolded, he found it interesting that they believed their words to be lies. He couldn't exactly blame them given their natures but he found more often than not lies were always laced with truth, that way it was easier to keep facts in check if the lie ever needed to be told in the future. There was no lie in the fact that the Blake's had gone to severe lengths to get to their station and even longer ones to keep the power. This was of course was a family secret that no one spoke of and that was if other members of the family even knew about it, for all he knew this was something that was passed down from one family head to the next or only known by the head and heir of each branch.
He also knew that his kind had a lot of run-ins with the secretive and enigmatic Delothosin, nothing bad on their side though they were a pain in the ass to his kind due to their own family secrets so he would rather prefer to avoid them if he could truly help it. The pair had in no way lied to the floral mage as she was indeed a missing witch with a broken spirit but it would seem like she was in denial about that revelation but she would come to understand in time that was why her magic acted so strangely and the reason for that darkness within her she didn't realize she had. Then again he, himself, was quite sure the fact it hadn't manifested before and that she was fighting it so strongly was due to her upbringing and found that something to investigate at a later time.
The fire mage was a little different as they knew very little about him, the only thing they knew now was that he was essentially wielding a daemonic relic and not being influenced by it. It would mean that the one who gave it hadn't any malevolent intent against him, there was also the fact that he didn't know who owned said trinket previously or how it had been made. This bothered him a great deal and so he'd need to look into that quickly so they would know what they were dealing with going forward as he may decide to use said power against them. He wasn't one to go into a fight not holding the upper hand or doing due diligence first even if his sister was more or less willing to underestimate those she came across. It made him beyond frustrated.
It was true they were strong, that very little could match them but it didn't mean they were invincible as daemons stronger than them had been taken down. He watched as his shield took on the assault from the spells of their opponents and how his sister laughed in glee as they hadn't managed to break it. The pair had come to the same conclusion that this group was fractured and they would be easy to defeat here and now but they were instructed to do no such thing. As his sister was ready to attack another person made their appearance. This concerned him as they had been told only three had been assigned to this group and to see two others made him want to strangle the minion of Aamon for not giving the correct information. Hinota being there they didn't see as much of a threat.
Yes, she had strong mana but was not yet at her peak and her lack of offensive abilities while dealing with her own inner daemon was enough for them to not really concern themselves with her. They were quite sure that in due time she would return to the fold and fight with them instead of against them. This new addition was completely unknown and though around the same strength as Sol that meant nothing as their was to many wild factors for his liking, also, he was well aware there was strength in numbers and enough ants could take down larger and much stronger animals. "We're leaving." he said finally pushing himself off the trunk of the tree "What... no... I haven't had any fun yet." his sister said almost sounding like a petulant child "I'm not going to repeat myself." his voice growing cold towards her, making her huff but moving towards him.
"There's no fun in playing with prey like this." he said simply caressing her cheek as if trying to make her understand. His eyes went to the group "Grow stronger so that when we do meet you'll at least be able to get through my defences, don't worry... we'll be checking up too." he said with a small chuckle, in the next moment there was a flurry of feathers completely blurring the sight of those around them and the pair were seemingly gone as quickly as they had appeared leaving the training area quiet once more except the breathing of the five that remained.
[attr="class","zavenreescroll"] He was about to strike once more, but before he could…Zaven watched as the two daemon spawn conversed…well it was more of an acute argument, per say and his aura flared up. He was not keen on being ignored for something like this and he was eager to finally do away with these two so he could get back to more important matters. Hraban flew to Zaven and then spoke to him very candidly suddenly. ”We have to stop them, Zaven, do not let them leave here. You understand me right…time to show them the power we have been working so hard to synchronize…I know your head, you know me. Let’s end this partner.” Hraban said as Zaven nodded and accepted Hraban without a word, the two were about to begin their own little ritual when the daemons made their decision and then they…disappeared. They ran from the fight, and it felt…no…it was a loss for Zaven and the Royal Knights training with him. [break][break]
They may have escaped certain death, but ultimately the daemons pointed out some very strong flaws in their team. Something that made Zaven clench his fist so hard that he was bleeding. The hot crimson liquid dripped onto the training circle as he was ready to let out a primal scream at the gods for this folly. He was not fit right now, not fit as a human being either in his mind after being goaded by the male daemon, certainly he was not fit as a leader, but he could not continue to beat himself up. At least in the public eye of those there with him, he MUST swallow this loss, this undesirable feeling as the Shadow of Dawn only wanted the best for his team and he was determined to teach them, but the daemon were right…they absolutely had no synergy…at least…not with Zaven as the leader. Hraban was in his mind at that point and the energy that was building just moments ago still resided there. Fuck he had to release this safely, he knew that they had to overcome this setback together…but how. [break][break]
As they left, Zaven watched as the world view became more normal, the bloody rage he was experiencing was finally released and he let out a long sigh as he still could not just vent his anger and confusion as well as his sorrow, the sigh lasting exactly three seconds…He then turned to the group as he saw their eyes. He did not feel any sort of pity in this, he saw anger, confusion, even a hint of fear. He looked at Magnus, a newcomer to this whole soiree, but he was lost in his own mind for a moment… [break][break]
It was like a break in the music had happened, the thought of an epiphany…a breakthrough. He removed his mantle, the mantle of a royal knight, a captain…a leader. He got down to the bare bones of it all, he unbuttoned his cuffs before going first to Sol, he knelt down before the male and looked at him, it was not the cold and calculating look he had expressed earlier…this was something different. “I am sorry for how I acted without restraint…it was unfair of me to do so…my reasoning does not and will not ever hold weight. Preparing you all for an unfortunate encounter was…not right. I hope in time I can earn your forgiveness and trust.” He then got up before going to the Magnus next and reaching out a hand to the mage. ”It is unfortunate that you have arrived too late, but there is folly here that lies with me currently, so I hope you will forgive me for my next course of action. Though I do not do it lightly, this is…the only way I can continue to live with what I have done to these mages…It is good to have you here however…” He finished as he clasped the male’s shoulder, it was heavy, as if he had gone through some transformation. He had two people left to speak to and he had a…heavy heart in doing so. He approached Hinota first, knowing what he would like to say, but there was no smile on his face as he looked at her. ”I learned something from this…I know…nothing about you, the daemons, or even…myself Hinota. I fear I have made a fool of myself for a long time since our initial meeting at the capital…and by putting you on the spot and demanding something of you without ever consulting you or anyone about it was wrong…I still have problems with…myself but I see what has been said and I acknowledge it all. I am sorry…” He showed a soft smile, it might invite a moment of interruption but he also held the air about him that spoke volumes…he needed to say these things. ”I know we have never really had a chance to speak on a level where things are as friend to friend, our line of work…does not allow me a moment of pause at times, and I know I have made things…difficult…but I value your mind, your ideals as a person instead of purely a member of the Golden Dawn. Thank you for…everything. Going forward, could I rely on you strength to help Magnus and Sol grow while we still have time. I must borrow Valo however…I will go to him next, but I feel…” He was about to say something more but instead looked at her face once more before finally making a small smile and instead he decided it was…not the time. ”That in order for us to be able to clear the next hurdle…I will require your services a bit longer…and your retainers as well…” He said before going to Valo, walking slowly as the shadows whipped around his body, Hraban was still inside of his head as he was experiencing clarity, the two partners were nearing a moment of singularity. [break][break]
Finally he walked to valo and did not bow, kneel, nor extend his arm as he did with the others. He looked at Valo and saw an equal, to show any submissiveness or further give any indication of sloth would be…a disservice to this mage before him. ”Valo…I trust you with my life, the lives of our comrades here, my province, and our kingdom as a whole. I am ashamed of my earlier misgivings and I have done wrong by you…and there is a reason for it, but it is a matter I must seek to find the answers to myself before I can even hope to bring it to you. So in short I can only offer my apology and hope that you can find forgiveness for my foolish “on-edge” decisions…” He began as he did not wish to continue wasting time for long…”I require your strength so that I can put those two daemons back in hell along with their progenitor…However, I believe that the two of us should work on some synergy with ourselves and our two spirits. After a night of deserved rest, I would like to ask that you join me once more in training.” He gave a fierce and determined look to his colleague. He trusted Valo and wanted him to know he was still needed, even after this fallout…even if Zaven’s own mind was still reeling from his actions…he believed this was the proper first step in doing the right thing. [break][break]
After doing this, he would walk back to the middle of the training circle and even look at the two retainers that Hinota brought he sighed once more. ”Now that I have addressed each of you individually I would like to address you all as a whole. Thank you for putting up with me, even though what I did was unfair and not even remotely safe…or sane and I am sorry for hurting you all, especially Sol. I am going to continue training myself as a person…not as your team leader, but as a member of your squad for we are Royal Knights and the kingdom…as we have now seen time and time again…needs us. I am going to dismiss myself from you all for the evening…and I would like to continue our training. There will be food served and you all have your own rooms in the west wing of my manor. What is mine is available for you…and finally…if any of you choose to leave…then I will accept the responsibility myself and write your letter of resignation…That is the least that I could do…” He said as he waited for a moment, if they wanted to talk to him…to yell at him…strike him. He put his hands behind his back and waited…

[attr="class","julienglass2scroll"] Sol kept his eyes on the foes before him he heard Hinota whisper to him to be careful since they were still at a disadvantage and he nodded,”I know Hinota im barely standing but I cant just do nothing“ he whispered back to her his tone was understanding and the look in his eyes showed he was very thankful for her concern. At the moment though he tried to hide it the blood mage knew he was on borrowed time as far as the ability to function as even though he was on his feet and in a ready stance every muscle in his body was screaming at him wanting him to lay back down and heal. Unless a miracle happened he could only fight for a small amount of time before he most likely would collapse again, the floral mage then mentioned in a soft and small tone that she knew someone from the family he had been hinted to be a part of that he could talk to and she could answer questions if he liked and Sol nodded.”I would like that as much as I dont want to believe our enemies words some things seem to fit to well to just be a simple lie and if I can get some answers it would put my mind at ease” he said as he gave Hinota a smile. [break][break] It seemed the two daemons were going back and forth as a new person arrived to join their group and that seemed to be enough to ward the attack from happening as the brother of the two suddenly called off the attack before telling them to get strong and perhaps then they might be able to break his defenses. After they they vanished in a flurry of feathers and as it faded to just the sound of the five of them breathing Sols body finally gave out right as he sheathed his katana and he barely managed to turn before his legs failed him and he hit the ground on his back with a grunt of pain.”ugh it was a monstrous task just to stay standing we got incredibly lucky” he said catching his breath as he just laid on his back his body only twitching as he felt like he had boulders attached to each of his limbs. The Mantis managed to tilt his head towards the newcomer Magnus and tried to give a smile.”good to have you joining us friend I would get up to greet you but currently my limbs are not wanting to work” he said jokingly as he saw Zaven approach and of all things he started to apologize to him. [break][break] Sol just kept his ruby gaze on the captain as he said that he had acted without restraint and that it wasn't right and hopped that he would be able to earn his forgiveness and trust back.”Captain Zaven I know its not easy swallow your pride and to admit a fault but that action alone has already started earning you some of of my trust back and some forgiveness all I ask is that going forward make sure to nurture our abilitys and our potential I have faith in you and that you have the ability to get us ready we just kind of ..stumbled this first day” he said with a small smile at the end showing that while he was aching he didnt hold it against the man since he was truly seeking to atone for the mistake. It was then that he addressed the rest of them before finally addressing them as a whole mentioning that his estate and resources were still at their disposal and that if any wanted to turn back they still could and he would not stop them but Sol quickly shook his head the best he could. “Captain we had a rough start I wont lie and you spell hurt like hell but you have seen the errors that you have made and that already shows growth I dont know about the others but I want to keep going I dont intend to shy away from what we have to face later down the line because I knew the danger when I became a royal knight so thats my decision im staying and after a good nights rest and some food Ill be ready to train again” he said before he glanced at Valo. [break][break] “hey Valo can you do me a favor and help me back inside im still having some difficulty moving” he asked his fellow squad mate as he still focused on moving his limbs, he was gaining more strength in them but walking was still a huge task as it felt like he was moving thru lead and trying to walk would most likely result in his collapsing again, Sol didnt know what the others would do he hoped that despite what had happened they would give it another shot since they needed to get stronger to deal with the threat. What stung the blood mages pride the most was that he was outclassed and in a bad postion from the start once again when the twin daemons had attacked and it reminding him of Kikka all over again. It made his blood boil and his desire for strength flared again as he would want to most likely push both himself and Magnus the new comer to the breaking point to ensure they were at the best of their abilitys the next time they had to deal with the daemons. Valo Stark
"Don't need a reason to seek strength."
Valo was surrounded by Hinota's spell, the smell was familiar he was used to this by now as it didn't catch him off guard. The fire mage was ready to go, ready to fight. Some of his teammates had mentioned they were at a disadvantage here, be it probably because of the Mana Zone they were in. But this fact didn't deter his mindset, they were going to fight and win tonight. But his ki senses started to pick up another arrival for another person. This one didn't read like a Daemon though, Valo didn't let it distract him but he was aware of it.
The new arrival finally made it to the scene, and Valo was a little surprised to see a much older gentlemen. A wizard from the Blue Roses, he placed himself closer to Hinota and apologized for being late. This man was a royal knight? Valo did not remember seeing him on the testing grounds, but that didn't matter. If he was chosen as a royal knight, he had to prove himself capable and reliable and magic knight. The more of those, the better. Even though the old gentleman, didn't exactly apologize to Valo for his lateness. The fire mage still responded, his voice full of eagerness and bright smile on his face. "Doesn't matter! You're here now! Prepare yourself Blue Rose!" Valo finished his sentence punching his right fist into his left palm, and a release of blue flames came out. The fire mage itching to finally get started.
There wasn't enough time to fully gauge what the Blue Rose magic knight was all about, Valo assumed though because he looked a little older that he had allot of experience. The only other member from that squad he can remember meeting was Alyssa Lillygate, whom gave him some very solid advice and guidance during that time when Kikka had to be left in darkness. But because of that one encounter with the leader of the Blue Rose squad, Valo had since then thought highly of the squad in general. So whoever this new member was, it was a welcome addition in Valo's eyes.
What happened next, left Valo's a bit perplexed though. The next thing the male Daemon stated was that they were leaving. The arrival of another person, they didn't account for to much of a risk for him to stay. Cowardly move, but a safe tactic. Valo's brows furrowed "Leaving!? You guys just got here!" Valo shouted. He was determined to fight, but remembering the state his team was in, this was probably for the best.
"No you get stronger, so the next time we meet you don't run away." Valo's response the male Daemon, his eyes were serious. He did not fear them in the slightest. "That goes for the other one too."
In the next moment they were gone, just as quickly as they arrived. The fire mage took a breath in and let it out, should they count themselves lucky? Perhaps. Had a fight commenced, they probably would have ended up allot more injured than they already were. Even Valo had to swallow his pride and admit that. But now was the time to recuperate, Sol needing healing. Valo's own mana skin had been broken from the start. Hinota probably needed time to get her thoughts in order. In fact they all did, the Daemon seemed to try and pick and reveal things about all of them. In Valo's case not so much, he didn't have the same problems the others did. The Daemon knew very little about him, which made sense there wasn't much to know. Despite whatever his Stark surname my have meant, Valo was born a commoner and lived as one.
But only a few moments after they had left, Zaven started to speak and surprisingly it was a genuine apology. He was apologizing for his earlier actions, and started to face each individual member of this team in earnest. Valo was rather surprised by this, so far he thought Zaven might have been to prideful to apologize. But he was wrong. The Shadow of Dawn, was a man who spoke honestly from his heart and that spoke volumes. He came up to Valo last, and said he trusted the fire mage with his life, the life of his comrades, his province and the Kingdom. These very words meant allot to Valo. The fire mage never got the chance to speak on it before. But Captains like Zaven and Ard even Lydia, were people he looked up to. They set the standard of Magic Knights he was trying to be like. Part of his drive came from that very fact. Zaven had protected the Kingdom Clover time and time again without fail. Valo was honestly proud to be apart of his team.
Zaven continued to address the group as a whole and awaited the teams responce. Valo would place his hand on Zaven's shoulder firmly and spoke honestly "Of course Captain. My trust in you has never wavered. Whatever you need, or decide. I am here and I'm not going anywhere. We will fight together until the very end." Was Valo needed to say on it. His eyes were fierce and determined and then he smiled his usual bright smile. "I'm glad there is some food on the way, cause I am very hungry hahaha."
The fire mage turned towards his own squad mate Sol, who requested his help. Valo went over and bent down for Sol climb on his back, so he could carry him to his room. But before he left, he turned towards the newcomer. His spirit Agneya flew over and landed on Valo's head. "Hey Blue Rose, whats your name?" Valo asked him.

[attr="class","tamaflowersscroll"] The doll-like mage was caught off guard with the information she had been given, she didn't want to believe a word they were saying as they were the enemy and so couldn't be trusted. Still, Kikka had taught her that things said by these creatures were often sprinkled with truth so it made her wonder if that was why she was so different from her brothers. She knew she should be content with her life but now she was questioning it, she would need to talk to Valo about the situation as right now she needed another's point of view. Just as things seemed to have started heating up the daemons withdrew, this was odd in her opinion as to where she wasn't strong in sensory and trusted in Valo and her captain's strength she knew that they were out of their depth and would easily best them given their current surroundings. [break][break] It was then she heard a familiar voice and it made sense, only Valo and Sol had gone through the royal knight exams and so were expected with the group's captains. Her own presence, as well as Magnus's, wasn't expected, it seemed as if the male was airing on the side of caution because even if something is weaker there is strength in numbers. "Your timing is as impeccable as always Elder Magnus." her voice as gentle as it often was as she walked to the man, her hand going to her left side as she bowed in her usual way. "It seems we had an impromptu encounter with some of our enemies and your presence was the tipping point causing a retreat." she commented "They were only expecting three of our number and though they had the advantage in strength they would have difficulty dealing with five people when they weren't expecting it." she finished. [break][break] Her eyes went to Zaven as he moved, his actions weren't completely unexpected given everything that had happened since their arrival. "You are being foolish captain." were the first words out of her mouth as she, herself, was addressed by the elder male. "Of course, you don't really know much about me captain, outside of formal settings we haven't really spent time together. Daemons are as different from each other as we are, so it stands to reason you wouldn't know a lot about them." she said calmly "As for not knowing yourself, I can only say that perhaps something in your past had something to do with that." she didn't know much about her captain's personal life, it wasn't for her to butt her nose into someone else's business. She of course would help him find himself if he asked for her help. [break][break] She looked down hearing his words and gripped her sleeves "Captain, I am a passive woman who does her best to protect the life around her, I am not meant for a position of command and I still doubt myself in regards to being a knight." her voice was small barely above a whisper "I can take the tactical lead when required but it being demanded of me makes me uncomfortable and due to discomfort I would be bound to make mistakes I otherwise would have avoided." she finished "You done what you believed was for best but you can't always strong-arm people to do what you want and expect a positive outcome" she told him as she looked up. "I felt as if I was being backed into a corner, this has only happened a few times but the worst was when I went and met the dragons." she said [break][break] The youngest of them wanted to fight the group she was with and expected her to also anticipate but instead of fighting it, she told the group to stop and instructed Serene to help her heal the dragon's wounds. At that point he was well aware he wasn't going to get his way, after all, his father told her to fight in hr own way so she fought in the only way she knew how. She healed. The dragon had flown off to pout but that was the end of that thankfully. "I believe you are pushing out of fear of our safety, however, there is a proper way to approach each person and like a tyrant who goes with force isn't the way." she said quietly "This isn't Spade Kingdom so speak with us, tell us where we are weakest and suggest ways we can improve." she offered as a suggestion. [break][break] She listened as he spoke once more and tilted her head "I am aware, but, that might be because you don't allow your time to just relax and be sociaiable" she said looking down "I mean the second time we met you wanted to hand to hand combat training though you knew of my beliefs in regards to violence. I can understand why you wanted to do such thing as you have seen many terrible things in your service as a magic knight, but, you accepted me knowing I am not a combatant yet it was like you were attempting to make me one." she bit her lower lip "If I do perish it will be under my own volition and terms not because I am forced." she said her words holding determination as she spoke that single sentence, she had her own doubts about her place in the knights but she could push them aside when needed. [break][break] "There is no reason to thank me captain, I am merely doing my duty to the kingdom as any knight should." she said softly looking to Magnus and Sol as their names would be said "I've never trained anyone especially in fighting the best I can do is point out weaknesses and how to cover them." she said, she wasn't going to lie the thought of training people how to fight made her feel uncomfortable but she knew this was something that was needed if they were to survive. "I can ask Junjie to aid me in this, he's more suited to the way of the warrior." she said hoping that would be acceptable. "Valo and yourself training together makes sense, you both need to strengthen your bonds with your spirits and that is only something spirit users could understand." she said honestly. [break][break] "For now the best course of action is to retire from training for the day, heal up, eat and reflect on what has happened thus far before sleeping and starting anew." she said watching as Valo and Zaven spoke. She wanted to help Sol move but there was just no way she would be able to carry him with her petite form. "I can heal him when we get inside." she said smiling weakly. "O... Oh Valo let me introduce you to Elder Magnus Aurelius. Elder Magnus please meet Valo Stark." she said introducing them to each other, she was tempted to say Valo's full name but between him not liking it and it being the first time they saw each other in a while she didn't want to tease. She did however take the opportunity of Luli and Junjie's absences to move over and hug Valo as she had no idea when the next time she'd be able to show him such affection. "I could cook for you if you're hungry Valo." she said looking up at him warmly.

[attr="class","temppost"] As Magnus approached the brave knights who stood against the dastardly duo he found himself coming under the effect of an intimidating aura, Fantelo hissed, standing up on his hind legs and giving off a fierce gaze in the direction of the daemons, he had never seen such an expression from his spirit, either way. Magnus knew that he very well couldn't stand around and do nothing, he had taken a vow when he became a Magic Knight.
It meant something to him and extended far beyond the reach of his mantle. Simple clothes were noting but representation, recognition for others, the title of Royal Knight meant something to him, the title of Magic Knight in general even more so. Being a Blue Rose was a dream that had been passed on to him, a dream that had molded into his own, a promise between a father and his daughter.
He'd let hell freeze over, he'd sacrifice another eye, his body, his soul before he'd let himself besmirch the title of magic knight by fleeing in the face of danger against a threat to the Clover Kingdom. He steeled his resolve, moving forward, he could Fantelo's claws digging into his shoulder slightly as his feline-like spirit was enraged and on edge.
The intimidating aura these daemons gave off was like nothing Magnus had felt before, sweat beaded on his forehead as he moved forward, placing one foot in front of the others with thunderous steps. His heartbeat thundered in his chest with such fierceness that he thought it would burst out. "Is this fear, or nervousness?" Magnus mentally pondered continuing forward.
As his legs pushed forward almost as if by instinct, born from all the adventures he had been on thus far. Daemons, devils, such things were foreign to him, strange, and unknown outside of the circling rumors and general information most magic knights had been given.
"It is its fear indeed. That's for certain, but fear is good, as long as I have something, with it be courage, whether it be fear, my mind is working, my body is working, my spirit remains unbroken. Whether this fear is born from my safety, whether it be born for the regard of others, this fear nonetheless isn't stopping me from moving forward. Nor will I allow it..." Magnus thought, he hadn't the time to sit down and truly do introspection like he would've wanted, but for now, as things stood, this was enough.
Magnus could hear the words from Zaven's spirit, it urged Zaven to stop them, it seemed Fantelo was the polar opposite, whereas Fantelo's words wanted Magnus to turn back, much to his dismay, Hraban wanted to fight, but Magnus was sure of one key fact that set their spirits apart in reaction, strength. Whether it be proverbial, or literal, the fact remained that Magnus had yet to even touch the cusp of strength that Zaven had.
Whereas Magnus's skill, experience, and strength paled in comparison, and Fantelo knew it. Thus Magnus didn't blame his spirit for its reaction, no, if anything he was moved. Moved that Fantelo would care so much for his safety. However, though it didn't show a pang of unease took hold within his chest, twisting it into knots of guilt for the fact that he had disregarded Fantelo's warning to continue forward.
Perhaps it was foolish. No, he knew it was, he knew it would be silly to even think that he would be able to even scratch that barrier that existed around the daemon, but regardless he moved forward. This wasn't bravery, it was foolhardy courage, he knew he would perhaps make little difference. Yet, even so, he continued onward.
As he arrived, Magnus mustered a smile at Valo's words, gripping his paintbrush wands between the gaps in his fingers, he responded to Valo's words "Right!" He said with gusto, a bit louder than he intended. Magnus grit his teeth, an action he'd likely chastise himself for regarding his vain dental health. Mana swirled to the tip of his paintbrush, the formally silver bristles coating itself with the same blue used in the Blue Roses signature mantles.
Although before he could even begin to draw out a spell the daemon's words came forth stating that they were leaving. Magnus was taken back by the statement, surely such beings of their stature, of their strength wouldn't just run away. "Why? For what reason?" Magnus found himself mentally questioning the fact that they would just turn tail and run.
Then his answer came, "there's no fun in playing with prey like this," the words repeated themselves in Magnus's mind, it was a sheer insult when Magnus thought of the context behind their words. They were openly calling them weak, openly declaring that they weren't worth their time as things stood. They thought so highly of themselves, yet so little of the knights that stood before them, thinking of them as nothing more than prey, than insects perhaps. The very thought, the notion, and gull of it all sunk into Magnus's gut like a poison that crept throughout his veins, like the curse that once ravaged his body.
It enraged him like no other, mostly because deep down, even with his courage, no because of his courage, he had the insight to know it was true. He wasn't strong enough to face them as it was, he wasn't useful as things stood. So perhaps this was a blessing in disguise, a gift carefully wrapped within insult, and retreat. An insult he swore to himself that he would make damn sure they regretted. For if left alone to be nurtured and mature, even a young cub can grow into the mightiest tiger in the jungle.
The daemon had told them to grow strong enough to break through their barrier, and Magnus swore to himself, promising himself that he would be strong enough not to just break through the said barrier, but to eradicate it. Magnus respected the guts that Valo had as the blue flame toting knight returned tit for tat when it came to the daemon's words, whereas he was simply silent for the time being, as he knew kissing a gift horse in the mouth would do him or anyone else any good when he hadn't the strength to back it up.
The way the daemons spoke and the way Valo spoke was as if they were granting one another mercy, but Magnus knew that to have mercy one needed to have strength. To let an opponent walk away when one had the chance to end them would require one to be sure, that certain one's power was great enough so that the opponent couldn't strike again. For if they did and they lost people in the process then what one had wasn't strength at all, it would be hubris.
With the ideal seemingly dying down with the daemon's haven taking their exit, stating that they would be 'checking in' on them, Magnus no doubt figured that he would see them again, perhaps and hopefully after he was strong enough to pose a challenge. Yet even if he wasn't he was sure just like how he had arrived and done so, he would stand his ground for all that he was worth.
Magnus heard Hinota's soft gentle voice touch his ears, he turned to greet her, bowing slightly as he did so. "Greeting Lady Hinota, though I wish such was under better circumstances," Magnus said his face blushing as his head still hung down in its bow before it lifted, slowly, the blush on his cheeks only intensifying as he realized he was still gripping his paintbrush wands with such strength that it had turned his knuckles red. He eased up, not wanting to potentially damage his trusted tools.
"My apologies for the tardiness, I had rushed here as soon as I was instructed to by my Captain," Magnus said easing a smile upon his face with trained skill from years of dealing with noble's intense situations, though none as tense or in a category such as this. Hinota was a breath of fresh air, and as he saw her Fantelo too seemed to calm down, perhaps it was her strong scent that eased him, or maybe it was seeing a friendly reliable face, but the feline spirit soon sat on Magnus's shoulders with a calm demeanor, though behind his gaze sat a worry that Magnus was sure wouldn't fade anytime soon.
Fantelo's ears twitched before he bowed his head slightly in Hinota's direction, "a pleasure to see you again Lady Hinota," Fantelo said, bringing his right paw up to his mouth before licking it gently and rubbing it across his ear and forehead. Placing it back down on Magnus's shoulder he gave a soft "meow".
Though as Hinota spoke, stating that he was the reason for retreat, Magnus was visibly struck with surprise, though as Hinota continued the picture came into play. Even if he was weak, he was still an extra body, an unplanned asset that could potentially be a distraction even if small that could potentially turn the battle in the knight's favor, due to the difference in numbers. The thought gave him a sense of ease, but the lingering resentment for the daemons and their display stayed put.
Magnus gave a curt nod to Hinota, unaware of how to respond in a way that would make it so that he was grateful to be of help, but the fact was, he didn't feel as if he had contributed anything at all. Save for the truth, and as he was about to voice it when Sol made his way over, the man looked bruised and beaten, and as he spoke Magnus could see the strain it took for him to smile. Even still amid the situation the green mantis magic knight still tried to joke. A factoid that Magnus thought was brave and reassuring.
"That's quite alright, please do take care of yourself. I would be remiss if you should strain yourself any further for the likes of me." Magnus said to Sol.
He turned his head to Hinota, he was about to impose to the young woman that perhaps her healing prowess was of need, no doubt, already figuring that Hinota had thought of such herself already but before he could open his mouth to speak something else drew his attention.
His attention was turned to that of Zaven as the Golden Captain let out a long sigh. Magnus couldn't blame him, surely the ordeal had taken its mental toll, especially on someone that had faced daemons before and been through all manner of hardship. Magnus's eye went wide at the sight, Zaven was removing his royal knight's mantle, and for what reason, Magnus did not know.
Perhaps it was symbolic, surely he couldn't be giving up? Magnus refused to believe such, he refused to entertain the very notion of it quickly wiping the thought from his mind with the shake of his head, letting his chin-length silver hair whip about as he did so, before smoothing the loose strands back with his fingertips. He still held the paintbrush wands within the gaps of his fingers, as he was reluctant to part with them just yet, a clear sign that he was still on the defense, not one to let his guard down and be caught lacking without his only means of defense, save for the other knights around him.
Magnus watched as Zaven had gone first to Sol, apologizing for something Magnus hadn't been privy to, the context of which was evident on Sol's body causing Magnus to put two and two together, in that perhaps Zaven had gotten a little too rough with him when training earlier? Magnus did not know for certain and it wasn't his place to interrupt speak or pry, thus he did not simply watch as Zaven aired out his grievance and apologized in tandem.
Magnus considered Sol's reply virtuous and reassuring, Magnus still wasn't entirely sure what had transpired between the two, but he hoped that with Sol's words that had been laced with forgiveness Zaven would come to find the same forgiveness within himself, that he would heal from the ordeal and move forward. Though he did not doubt in his mind that the Shadow of Dawn would, at least from what he had witnessed from the Golden Dawn Captain before...
Magnus placed a portion of the paintbrush wands back within his grimoire satchel as Zaven neared. The man's presence puts a bit of his edge on ease. He extended his free hand to take Zaven's within his own, giving a firm grip and shaking as he did while putting a bright reassuring smile on his face. Zaven had confirmed some of Magnus's suspicions with his greeting. Though he was curious about what the unspoken meaning behind Zaven's words was.
"You need not need to ask for my forgiveness, as you have done no wrong to me. However, regardless of what your actions may have been, I do hope that in time, you can move past this. That said, I ask that you disregard my ensuing rudeness... Zaven." Magnus said pausing for a mere moment as he did, speaking casually forgoing any titles that Zaven had as he wanted to speak to the man beneath the proverbial mantle.
Magnus would place his hand atop Zaven's shoulder much like Zaven had done to his own, squeezing lightly. He was intent on making sure that Zaven knew he was speaking to him, the person, not the magic knight or Captain, but simply as another human being. He followed up on his words quickly as he gave a warm smile.
"Forgiveness in its essence is for oneself. Forgive yourself first and strive to go forward with good intentions and the rest will follow. I don't know what transpired in my absence so perhaps it is not for me to say, and perhaps I am simply overstepping my bounds and for that, I apologize for my oversight, but I will say my Alyssa sent me here because she knew that you were a man who could make me better, stronger, a man that was worthy to teach and lead. I have the utmost faith in my Captain and by proxy and from my own experience you as well. So you need not apologize, or beg for my forgiveness, as I regrettably as tardy as I am, am happy to be here." Magnus said, removing his hand from Zaven's shoulder...
He then watched as Zaven and Hinota spoke, Magnus was slowly but surely beginning to understand Zaven's point of view. From what it sounded like was that the man was humbling himself and that he desired more introspection within himself. Watched as the man continue to humble himself, to apologize, as the Captain of the most beloved knights of the Clover Kingdom, as the head of the prestigious Blake family. Magnus knew that for Zaven to chasten himself in such a manner was no small feat, and he's doing such only insured newfound respect for him in Magnus's eyes, as most nobles he had known would rather die before forgoing their pride to do so.
Magnus fought back a grin, as Hinota stated that Zaven was being foolish, as even though he didn't know the full scope of things he precipitously believed the same. He smiled as Hinota spoke the woman was as eloquent as always, and though she was present a woman who looked like a doll and often was sure was handled with care and ease, spoke her mind. A factor that Magnus adored about her, was not because she was a strong-willed person, no, but simply because as shown, even when nervous she spoke her peace, especially if it was at the behest of helping another.
As she spoke, Magnus could see no fault or fallacies within her words, as she spoke about her strengths and weakness. He watched as she then reprehend her Captain giving her peace of mind and side of the story though he was sure she did so with good intention. As he listened to Hinota speak the puzzle pieces missing from the context of the earlier situation further came into place in Magnus's mind to paint a clearer picture of what happened in his absence. Magnus smiled as he looked between Zaven and Hinota hoping the two were reaching the resolution in which they needed to move forward.
Magnus smiled as Hinota looked at him and Sol, Fantelo's ears perked up and he gave a soft purr of reassurance. As even the antlered spirit knew that if Hinota were to help that Magnus would indeed grow in strength, and more importantly be safe to feed him for yet another day. Especially if he had an outside perspective to help him do so.
Though as Hinota mentioned bonds and spirits to Valo, Magnus found himself turning his head to Fantelo slightly with curiosity, strengthening their bond, that was something he hadn't tried yet, something he hadn't begun to delve into yet, perhaps it would come in time. Magnus wouldn't force it, nor did he want to, he had heard that spirits could grant mages great strength to those they considered worthy, to those they grew close to, but Magnus didn't know how that worked, or even what Fantelo's criteria would be to consider someone worthy, but such worries, such thoughts were for another day. For now, as things stood Magnus knew he needed to increase his strength before he would dare to ask Fantelo for some of his.
He listened to Zaven speak to Valo next, taking in key details to better form his mental picture of the earlier transgressions that he wasn't around for. However, as Zaven mentioned words like progenitor, Magnus wondered who or what that being was, and if they would have to fight them too. No, from the context it was clear they would, but in the back of his mind, he wondered if he was ready for the task at hand, for the hurdle of repeated battles they would potentially have to jump through. If he could truly handle what was to come.
Magnus enjoyed Valo's answers, especially that about food, finding that the young boy liked to keep an upbeat attitude. Even in such a situation that had transpired earlier, Magnus wondered just what had the young boy gone through thus far to keep such a stern resolve and outlook.
Magnus looked around as Zaven had mentioned resignation if anyone wanted to back out, and as he could see just like he was himself, everyone was standing their ground. No one had any intention of abandoning their station, and Magnus damn sure wouldn't be the first, nor would he even entertain the possibility of leaving. He came here to get stronger so that he would be able to fight daemons and protect the Clover Kingdom, and he intended on doing just that.
Magnus voiced his own words after Sol, "I have no intention of leaving. I have been entrusted to this role by my Captain and I will see it through to the end." Magnus spoke with an air of certainty, there was nothing but clarity in his words and a promise to himself. Fantelo nodded in agreement to Magnus's words, causing Magnus to smile and pat his spirit on the head lovingly as sat atop his shoulder, eliciting a few purs from the spirit.
Magnus turned to Valo as he spoke, but before he could reply, Hinota did him the honor of doing much for him. Magnus bowed to the young man named Valo Stark, "Ah, pardon my discourtesy. A pleasure to make your acquaintance, as Lady Hinota has said, My name Is Magnus Cassius Aurelius, I look forward to working and fighting alongside you." Magnus said raising his head.
Fantelo quickly followed Magnus's lead giving a practiced introduction of his own, "I'm Fantelo, a pleasure to make your acquaintance," the feline paint spirit said, its voice soft and meek almost like that of a child. Both Fantelo and Magnus stared in awe as Hinota hugged Valo with affection, perhaps these two had something more to what Magnus knew.
As things seemed to settle down, Magnus found himself moving along with the rest of the group. Wondering as to what the Blake Estate had to offer, he was extremely excited and curious to see how the servants of the Blake Estate operated.
