[attr="class","haniascroll"]He couldn't imagine the vengence that the three elder males wanted and all for differing reasons, his eyes going to Griswold he could see the anger welling up only to settle once more. "I wish I could say I understood how you are feeling currently Griswold but we both know I would be lying and disrespecting you and your people." he said while the two captain's done their things. "I can appreciate that you aren't going into a blind rage and for lack of a better term being bull-headed and rushing in allowing your anger to enter a situation you wouldn't leave." He said with a weak smile "When this is finished and the dust settles I hope you find peace and those you've lost's spirits can finally move on to find a new beginning." He had no idea the beliefs Griswold or his family had so attempted to say something neutral.
In truth, it now made him curious about the rites, rituals and beliefs of Griswold's people "Perhaps in time you will share with me some information about those you grew with, if it hurts too bad to remember happier times I understand and won't push. I am merely curious." he didn't want to disrespect the man and knew that even after all these years the wounds of such a loss still might be too fresh "I also believe the person who said time heals all wounds is an idiot, there are some wounds that will never heal regardless of how much time or how many lifetimes may pass." he said his eyes showing a myriad of emotions themselves starting at anger going to frustration, sadness and pain before finally returning to neutral. He knew his own pain couldn't compare to others, nor was it more than any other person living but it was his own pain.
His eyes looked over to the two captains for a moment "They've lost a lot over the years but that is the cost of living, more so when you live the life we do." he explained to Griswold "We go into situations not knowing if it will be our last or that if we survive those we walk into it with may breathe their final breaths." he said turning his gaze once more to the grand mana zone "It's a heavier burden knowing that your action may cause such an outcome." he could already feel the heavy air around them but it was a sombre situation and to pretend otherwise would irresponsible. "I don't know if they personally have dealt with this daemon but I know there is no love loss, this daemons actions caused a lot of hurt to a lot of people even if the majority don't remember it." his voice was low and calm as he spoke.
His eyes went to Ard and Zaven "I realize that you both have lost a lot, but, you aren't the only ones here that have lost things in the past because of things out of your control..." he began, he knew that it may come off as rude or disrespectful but at this point, he didn't care "But the way you have both more or less ignored us since the summons is almost as if we shouldn't be here or that we are two groups under one banner which will cause issues going forward." he wasn't mixing words that much was clear "You aren't the only ones that have a score to settle here or need closure from the defeat of our current enemy, so stop acting as if you're the only people that have any real cause to be here." it wasn't like the white-haired male to show any sort of emotion or step out of line.
Yet, here he was doing both. He couldn't put his finger on it but he was unsettled being here, it wasn't quite the same feeling that he got when he went near Kikka but more akin to the sensations he felt when he went near the Shadowlands. With that and the sudden disappearance of his sister thus having to take over as head of his family, there was so much on his mind. It hadn't been even a few seconds after he stopped talking that he felt a rift his eyes directly going towards it, just in time to see what seemed like a spatial gate open. "It seems we are being invited in." he said walking towards it "It would be rude not to accept." with that he walked through knowing not what to expect on the other side.
Hania listened meeting the eye of the archdaemon for the briefest of moments and that was far to long for him he closed his eyes and resisted the urge to hold his head. 'Are you sure you are going to be able to do this?' Asmostia asked through their bond 'If not I die trying and you need to find someone else to ignore the boundaries of.' he said in return his eyes opening, he had always had a tough time when it came to these monsters. It didn't matter if it was speaking or reading about the things he never felt right and had no idea why though he believed that the truth at least in part may show itself here. Soon enough the void changed to a battlefield his eye looking around unable to believe what he was seeing.
The white-haired teen hadn't been in the capital while all this was going on but this event had happened not to long after he had gained his grimoire he supposed and became a member of the Crimson Lions through his ties with Lydia and the friendship she had with Ard. Due to his own prowess in sensory he was sent along side some of the Azure Deer to do some scouting, he guessed this was his sisters way of allowing him to do his duty without putting him in to much danger. "Is this..." he finally said unable to really believe his eyes "Griswold, right now we're standing in a part of history where the deciding battle against the Diamond Kingdom will be decided." He said bringing the other up to speed. "That there is the shining palace... and if we're here that means something bad is going to happen." he said clearly, nodding to Zaven's words showing he agreed with his decision.
Rank & Element: Junior ¦ Light Class & Type: Relic ¦ Accessory (bracelet) Magic Specializations: Physical Reinforcement ¦ Healing Appearance & Lore: A simple bracelet made out of reinforced glass with an opalite charm dangling from it almost like a pendulum, that gives off a dull light during the day and a bright light during the night preventing any natural shadow from forming.
There is nothing of major historical importance or deep story into where this item came from. The white-haired heir of the Ravencrest family has suffered from terrible day and night terrors since he was young and still does to this day. When asked what is wrong he brushes it off telling people not to worry it was a condition he had. He will never go into the terrible things he sees, in fact, he personally wishes he could forget he quickly realized that his perfect memory was a double edge sword and at times he truly wished he didn't have it.
His elder sister Lydia was the first to realize that it happened more when he was in an emotional state or surrounded by darkness. She also realized that he refused to sleep unless every light source he could find was active or he would sleep outside under the sun during the day, this wasn't optimal as he was to be trained to take over the family if anything were to happen to Lydia. Still, there wasn't much anyone could think to do to help him as he refused to open up but even if they could that came with a different set of hurdles they had to get over. Hania earlier in his life wouldn't take things from people due to his treatment before being adopted.
It took a while but Lydia finally found a way to help her younger brother, she had a crystal made with light inside and told him to use it when he sleeps. She said it was hers and she just wanted to see if it would help. He was reluctant but she said it only had to be a few days so he accepted. Throughout those few days, he slept somewhat peacefully so it was clear that it helped but not enough, she could only guess that the light wasn't strong enough. She realized this would be fine for a normal child afraid of the dark but it was clear to the pink-haired woman that this wasn't a normal situation.
She personally designed what she believed would help him the most, she chose the materials, their appearance even the opalite that dangles from it. As the bracelet was being made she slowly started to imbue her own element into the glass beads and the opalite as the former was created and the latter was shaped. It took close to a year to complete but Lydia seen it as something that should be done slow and steady, this was to make sure that it was done right the first time and that no matter what it would be near indestructible for whatever he may face in life.
On what is now classed as Hania's eighth birthday after a certain incident happened, she gave him a box, within it laid the bracelet. He was told to keep it with him always as she would be there to keep the darkness at bay and watching over him so he could be at peace while he rested. From that moment he has always kept it with him even if he hasn't always worn it.

[attr="class","ardereescroll"]Ardere's pale hands gripped the top of his head with fervent force--something was clearly wrong. He wasn't ignoring the others, but he felt so...thin. It was almost as if his mind was constantly slipping through the crevices of time and space--the infinite cosmos of memory. Ashford's past scarred a wretched mark upon his mind, one only escapable by facing his past directly. [break][break] The only way to do that--was to move forward. Keep pushing on. [break][break] Unfortunately he could not do it alone this time. He needed his allies, not the other way around. Perhaps it was selfish for him to come along but there was no other alternate path. Ardere was a part of this war whether they liked it or not. The Clover Kingdom's fate dangled along the edge of the knife, tipping ever so slightly back and forth. Griswold. Hania. Zaven. They were the security this Kingdom needed. The Lion was support today. And that was okay. He'd save his strength for when it counted. [break][break] Upon entering the vast void Asmodeus plunged them unto, there was a flash of Ardere's past. Blood and fire stained battlefields. Heroes perishing in the sands of war. These were the fields and dirt he knew. So much of his life was spent drowning in the fires of battle, he'd forgotten peace for most of his life. Now that he had it; he didn't want to let go. Happiness was worth fighting for. Face the death of his Captain and Father-figure? Yes. [break][break] This is different than the mind games Aamon played with Griswold and I. These aren't just illusions. I believe they are fractured pieces of time. He wants to teach us a lesson. Our only option is to go along with it until we reach him. Ardere's knees bent as his form knelt down to the ground, muscular hands reaching into the dirty he recognized. Lifting the earth and letting it spill through his fingers like the memories spilling through his mind, the Kasai tightened his grip. You're right, Hania. What you said. We've all lost something. We all want revenge. Justice. Closure. But we have to get to him first to do it. So our first priority; stay alive. We stick together no matter the cost. No risky moves. Not even from myself... [break][break] He could see that red scraggly beard in the distance as black flames scorched the earth. Was he here to watch Lysander die or something else entirely? Asmodeus was not Aamon. He had no reason to test their strength. So what was he trying to tell them? What was the point of all of this? [break][break] I'll follow your orders, Captain. He said directly to Zaven, pain coursing through his muscles relentlessly. He'd learned to forget the pain now. All that mattered was not letting his comrades down. That meant setting aside his pride for the time being. They deserved better from him. But I will politely suggest we get the hell away from this cannonfire and assess our situation. Amber eyes stared at the Palace above. He remembered it like it was yesterday. Hanzo. Damion. Argentia. Arturius...
[break] The battlefield was just as Ardere and Zaven recalled, with one key difference now; something was wrong with the Captains. A dark shroud encompassed their forms, seeping into the earth like poison. They watched as Lysander stood before the monolithic cannon blast that ended his life, saving the other Captains. Except this time as the Ifrit perished, the others did not escape unscathed. Their mana was corrupted, infected with something that began to change them. [break][break] The Royal Knights were too far to interfere, yet too close to not witness the events that unfolded before their eyes. It was almost as if time had begun to slow to prevent them from stopping this. Ardere would be forced to watch his mentor die this time around and he would also be forced to see it be in vain as his comrades turned into corrupted wizards. [break][break] As time began to return to normal pace, the Purple Orca and Green Mantis Captains of the time approached them--Jagen Lavender and Barron Hannibal respectively. Black blood and ichor began to ooze from Barron's arms like blades as his corrupted magical power began to soar. Shadowed threads erupted from Jagen's body into a piercing void of an armorset, even infected his sword: Caliburn. The Sword of Kings turned dark as the night, reflected the infection that had overtaken its master. They both appeared to have noticed the group of Knights, continuing to approach them with intent--killing intent. [break][break] High above the Palace, the Master of this realm sat watching. Lucifer sat watching. One of the strongest of Asmodeus' Princes of Hell was their first opponent. He relished in corrupting the "pure of heart" falling into darkness as the mage and now Daemon himself once had, hence his moniker and title as Lucifer the Prideful. Chapped lips curved into a wicked smile as the monster chuckled to himself. Forgive me, Master. I want to test their Pride first before revealing myself. [break][break] If the Royal Knights did not react quickly, they would be struck by two Grand level attacks from the enemies before them. Barron unleashed 5 crescent shaped blood attacks at seventy five meters per second, each two meters apart to form a star of crescents. As they soared through the air, the mages would hear the wind rippling and whistling. His partner Jagen stabbed Caliburn into the ground, unleashing torrents of dark threads in the form of spikes bursting from the ground at the same speed as the crescents but easily fifty meters wide. Dodging these attacks would not be easy but given the distance of about a hundred meters between the groups not it was nowhere near impossible. [break][break] Simultaneously as the group was attacked, Ardere would feel a tingle across his spine. Someone was behind him. He'd been identified as the weak link within the group due to his injuries. The dead bodies of the knights nearby had been resurrected, corrupted by the dark mana now in the earth as a dozen of them attempted to rush him as a horde and pin him to the ground. [break][break] In mere moments the situation as already grown dire. How would the Royal Knights react? Lucifer was watching them closely now.
[attr="class","zavenreescroll"] Hearing Hania’s remarks before they were confronted was…not upsetting, not to the Shadow of Dawn, the Shadow Monarch…no he was not here because he needed to be here…he had other warriors to train, this was a step away from one front to help out on another. THAT was what upset him. As they stepped through the portal to the other side, everything would happen as it did. Once on the other side, as the others arrived he noticed they would not have much time. Ardere then spoke saying he would follow his orders…the Shadow mage held up a hand, signaling them all to hold their ground for now. ”Let me get this straightened out Hania…and Griswold, and Ardere…I am not here to hold anyone’s hands…but I am not looking past the abilities of everyone here. Me and Ardere have business to attend to and personal histories…not just here, but you are right…we all have a reason to be here…now let’s show them…” He started but was interrupted as he watched Arturius…his captain as he seemed surrounded by a dark aura…”Dammit all…” He said as he saw the mages…captains…legends in their own right approached, looking to have that same aura around them. ”Talos, Achilles, protect us from their power, but do not kill them!” Zaven said as he summoned his two grand golems, appearing to jump out of his grimoire and absorb the shadows around them as the attacks were incoming. This scene was maddening as he was sure that this was the past, but things had taken a step in a different direction…could Asmodeous be trying to correct his past mistakes by killing them before the shattering? [break][break]
”I think that the cannons are the least of our worries…Hania, make it harder for us to be followed…Griswold, assist Ardere and retreat into the keep. We can regroup there…most of the forces will be preoccupied out here from how I remember it…” He said as he readied his grimoire for a further battle…were they actually in the time before the shattering…was this an illusion? He did not have the answers yet and was looking for a way to best whatever this trial was. If they were able to fall back enough to regroup Zaven would ensure that they were safely in an area of the Royal Castle of Clover to see the battlefield while subduing his own mana. ”This is…some test, it has to be…Asmodeus did not change this even in the shattering…there is something wrong…if this is another timeline all together though…the lot of us could already be dead…We need to formulate a plan. Anyone have any suggestions?” He asked as the battlefield could be seen behind the captain, as well as the Shining Palace as the fighting was starting to ramp up.

[attr="class","zavenreescroll2"] TLDR Uing Typhon and Achillies to shield from the grand attacks from the captains
Listening as things were brought to the table without really interrupting or putting in any of his own thoughts into the matter, part of him agreed with the fact that the two Captains seemed distracted by their own histories and backgrounds. Almost so much so that it seemed like they had completely disregarded his own presence and that of Hania. It was understandable given how one’s own history was in many ways what defined them as people, so with that same history playing out right in front of them must have been on a level beyond a mere distraction. For him, the fact that his own history had molded him into the person that he was now was really no different. The main difference here was that they did not just dive into his background, but into that of the people who were for all intents and purposes leading this incursion.
Had they gone into his own history, they’d be walking around a lush forest right now, filled with a bunch of folk that lived among the trees. Instead, they were walking around the scene of a war that had long since been won. Ignoring most of the talk between Hania and Zaven at this point as he looked around to get a good idea as to what was going on, his run against Aamon not too long ago allowed him some kind of early warning when it turned out some of the people here were starting to be corrupted by demon magic. At that point, everything went into overdrive as the situation went from relatively calm to entirely bad. Another thing that went into overdrive was his own mind as he tried to make sense out of what he was seeing. Given how corruption had worked in the past, Griswold refused to believe any of this would have gone by as easily as it did.
Asmodeus’ magic, as he was led to believe, revolved around the manipulation and alteration of time, meaning there was no reason to believe he could just step up and corrupt several powerful Captain class magic knights and sway them to his cause so easily. Judging by Aamon’s case, as well as that of his son, the corruption had initially come from a devil, and seeing as how Asmodeus was considered to be extremely powerful but was not known to be a devil, it seemed likely that there was more going on here. Because no matter how powerful the individual might be, no one being possessed the strength to go this far back in time, potentially changing the entire course of the war and everything that came in the years after it, while at the same time corrupting a man that was in the present day claiming the title of wizard king. All of it simply did not add up, not one bit.
Believing all of this to be some sort of trial, it was only once they all started assaulting their position that Zaven erected his defenses and began barking orders. With the odd castle looming above them, even as he was told to aid Ardere and make their way back to the keep, Griswold could not shake the idea that all of this looked a lot like the trials they had been put through by Aamon inside of his battle spire. The things they had been put through back there shared a remarkable resemblance with what was going on right here after all, though this time, they remained who they were, rather than being put inside of someone else’s skin while being forced to live through their memories. For now, he would do what had been requested of him, moving closer to Ardere with his blade drawn and ready to deflect any incoming attacks while tracking back towards the keep for safety from the cannons and the corrupted captains.
----------
(In case they make it into the keep/reach safety)
----------
Once they all made their way into the keep, which would hopefully keep the cannon’s fire at bay for now, but would likely not hold out very long against the corrupted Captains to boot, it was at that point that Griswold would voice his opinion on the matter. Believing that if he was even remotely right, that it would contradict what Zaven said about how they could not kill them, it was altogether possible that they were within a different timeline or dimension. Even so, it would not change what Griswold believed to be going on here, as him existing in this timeline or not mattered very little on account of how he had never been part of this war, and hadn’t even been a magic knight at that point in time.
“While it could very well be a different timeline or dimension, I believe all of this is just another test. Aamon was fond of his tests too, as well as making people experience things that tore away at their beliefs while attempting to destroy any and all forms of motivation. Because regardless of how powerful Asmodeus is, no one can rewrite time to this extent while also corrupting people who are of the caliber of Wizard King without them putting up a fight against it. From what I’ve seen, that simply is not how this works. Which leads me to believe that the real threat, or at the very least the individual orchestrating this entire façade is up there in the sky.”
Since there was really no way to be sure if he was right about his assessment, if any of the things he had learned from his battle against Aamon, it meant that not everything was always as it seemed. Far from it. And seeing as how Ardere had been there with him, it seemed likely that he might come to the same conclusion. Refusing to believe that he was entirely in the wrong here, even if they were to not kill the corrupted captains, that would still make leaving this place and heading straight towards the flying fortress their best option. Even if they were to follow them, which they could if they had access to some form of flight, if they could take out whatever was in charge of this trial or test, chances were that they’d be taken back to where they were, putting them back on the path towards Asmodeus.
“If you don’t want to kill these Captain’s-turned-pawns, making our way out of the line of fire of those cannons and heading straight towards that flying fortress seems like the best course of action to me. If there’s a chance that killing whatever is up there takes us back on the path to Asmodeus, I feel like we should take it. That is, if everyone here is capable of flying.”

[attr="class","haniascroll"]The ice mage was hyper-aware of his surroundings, it was hard not to be when you were in the middle of a warzone, where they had landed in time and looked nothing like the royal capital of their own time, but, he was quite sure that there were still things out of place currently. He allowed his mana senses to wander to their full extent in the hopes he could sense people nearby but all he got in return was the feeling of being strangled. The mana was so dense it felt like it could be cut with a knife, he put that down to having so many strong mages in one area at the same time. The issue was that the mana in the area felt not only tainted but sick, he didn't know if that was in his head or not but he did know he didn't like the pricking sensation on his skin that it left.
It was when Ard start to speak that his eyes moved "You're right this isn't an illusion." he said the second knuckle of his index finger going to his chin while his thumb went under it as he thought. "I know every element acts and feels different depending on qualities, but, there are also very subtle similarities that spells of the same type share I've found that can be easily missed if you don't know what you're looking for." He looked at the others "What is around us doesn't share those qualities." He knew at least two of the others had sensory but had no idea if they had picked up the same sensation he had, even if they had he knew it may feel different to them due to their elements. He lowered his hand to his side to gain baring of their surroundings once more.
"A lesson?" he seemed somewhat confused at that notion, what exactly could a daemon hope to teach them? More to the point why would a daemon want to teach them? Questions for another time he supposed. He knew that Asmodeus was nothing like Aamon, the latter cared about his twisted sense of honour and the thrill of fighting while their current 'host' was patient and cunning, never qualities you wanted to find in your enemies. However, Ard was correct as all they could do was follow the path set out in front of them until they understood what the lesson was as much as it sickened him to admit. It was then that his captain spoke once more, but he was incorrect not everyone had lost or suffered during the attack on the capital and so didn't feel the need for revenge.
"Captain, I have absolutely no history with this battle. No one I knew then was killed, at worst they were hurt and so I don't feel the need for revenge for what happened here." this was true for him then as it was now, he socialized when he had to but preferred his own company over others. He knew that Asmodeus had taken from both captains and from Griswold, but, he, himself at least to his knowledge had never had anything taken or broken due to this daemon. If his flashes, illnesses or memory were given to him around the time of the shattering sure but he had those since he was born, it was the reason for so much of the pain in his past but that wasn't something he liked to dwell on, nor would be the time to do it even if he had.
He listened and let out a silent sigh, he wasn't the type to go do things impulsively like some other crimson lions he knew. He was patient and calculated something that his own captain should know by now. He had absolutely no intention of dying here, to be honest, other than his captain due to this decision he didn't think any of them intended to die. "I wouldn't bet the squad on us being able to stay together at all times or not having to do risky things to survive." he said stoically, from what he had read in the past and even from the events that transpired with Aamon there where times that groups got separated either by the enemy or it was the better tactic. Also Ard was the last person currently that should be saying not to do anything risky considering his current condition and he had decided to force the wizard king's hand into letting him be part of this group.
Raising twirling his hand subtly he made his own mana go around Ard, it wouldn't do anything but help numb the pain a little due to the coldness of his element. Currently, he didn't want to create noticeable ripples to those close by but anyone who knew the man could tell he was in pain but hiding it. "I know it isn't much but it should help take the edge off for a while." he said calmly, his eyes then went to Zaven as he spoke "With due respect captain Blake if any of us needed our hands held we wouldn't be here and you most certainly are looking past our abilities if you started off by saying you aren't here to hold anyone's hand." his voice was as cold as the ice he used as he spoke.
It continued to bother the teen as he heard how 'he' and 'Ard' had business to attend to and personal histories. 'Would he like a cookie for that? For as long as I've existed people have had business and personal histories with others so why does he feel like they're special' the ice spirit would say to his companion through their bond 'I can't say I like the tone and honestly I just want to walk away as I feel not only overlooked but unneeded, this moment in time is painful for a lot of people in different ways.' he sent back to the spirit, as much as Asmostia got on his nerves there where times that he enjoyed having the bird with him. It was at that point he felt tension swell in his head and moved his and up instinctively to it, there was no flash just ungodly throbbing.
His earlier feeling felt so much worse as he looked to where it was emanating from, the others surely felt how sick and tainted the area was now even if they hadn't previously. Seeing the black threads and the inky black blood there was no way anyone could deny that something was wrong now. This wasn't their history but then if this was happening in this timeline he couldn't help but wonder what would it mean for the future of this timeline. There wasn't a lot of time to dwell on that currently due to the attacks that were coming the group's way. It hadn't taken long for the orders to be given and spells to start being cast. Zaven used his own golems as shields against the onslaught of the enemy captains. 'Neither are strong in sensory in our timeline but it may not be the same here... it's a gamble.' he thought to himself.
Hania moved both his hands straight forward before placing the flats of them together, an icy mist starting to appear around his hands, creeping up both his arms and slowly over not only his entire body but the body of Griswold, Ard and Zaven. While that was happening he slowly released a breath as he parted his hands releasing an icy mist over the location. The entire area looked exactly like it had although it was cold enough that you could feel like you could get frostbite if not wrapped up properly. Now within the area, there were multiple versions of the four royal knights all moving independently of one another. Some were in groups, some only having two or three members with differing people in it.
They each look the exact same as the person that they were copies of, if questions were asked the doppelganger would answer sounding exactly like the person, some of them were already talking amongst themselves and because of how the spell functioned in regards to mana senses it would be hard for the real mages to be found. He was careful enough to weave the spell so the others within his group wouldn't be trapped within the illusion. With the illusion in place, he followed the others making sure that his movements fell in pattern with the doppelgangers. This stopped when they got to safety but he would keep the illusion going for now. He looked at Griswold as he spoke and pondered his words for a moment "I believe you might be right in regards to a different timeline" he commented, he wasn't willing to believe that they were in a different dimension entirely if that had been the case then the shattering needn't have happened.
"However, you are incorrect about the latter part..." he said his eyes closing "Normal archdaemons are a pain to deal with but they usually have lesser daemons to play patsy... we... on the other hand are dealing with daemonic royalty... they are almost classed as devils meaning their subordinates will likely be archdaemons" his hand going back to his head once more "Their magics won't act like normal magics do making them far more dangerous." he finished, he hated these head pains worse than the other ones because at least he got images with those. "We won't find him until we've learned the lesson he wishes most likely... that being said..." his eyes opened though they seemed somewhat dull currently "I do believe that the fortress may be our best plan of attack, however, we will need a way up there and a way not to be shot down."
It was the most logical plan in his opinion, however, there were flaws that he pointed out "if we are being tested we need to figure out what the test is and how to pass it sooner rather than later." he finished, he knew it wouldn't be as simple as the other was making it out to be and he would realistically would rather have a plan and a few backups but they may not have that much time to figure out such things. "I believe if people were meant to fly then they'd have been born with wings, the only method I have is my full spirit dive and I have no intention of handicapping myself unless it is an emergency." he knew the weakness that came with going into his dives, he also knew that that weakness wouldn't leave him for weeks if he did it. Hence, it wasn't exactly his first or even his last choice to use it if it could be avoided.
Name of Spell: Glacial Doppelgangers Elemental Type: Ice Rank & Spell Type: Senior ¦ Sensory ¦ Illusion Range & Speed: 40m (+10m for every 10 Sensory) ¦ 40 m/s Mana Cost: 30 ¦ 15 Stats Effected: +9 Sensory Applicable Perks: Master Illusionist, Shattered Psyche Description: Hania moves his hands straight forward before placing the flats of his hands together, what seems like an icy mist starts to appear around his hands, creeping up his harms and slowly over his entire body. While this is happening he slowly releases a breath while parting his hands as he does it releases the icy mist over the location. There is something strange about this illusion as the area looks exactly like the place all be cold enough that you could feel like you would be getting frostbite, if not wrapped up properly. Within the area, however, there would seem like there were multiple versions of Hania. They each look the exact same as he does at the point of casting, they however work independently as if they were actually the caster making it harder to find which was the real one he was. With ammo rules, he can not only prevent his allies from being affected by the illusion but add versions of them into the illusion. To see through this illusion a mage must have 60 sensory, this increases by +2 for every 1o sensory that Hania has due to master illusionist. This gets reduced by a certain amount if used upon another sensory mage, the reduction depends on the rank of the other mage found within the illusion rules. For every second round this spell is active it gets reduced by -2. The only senses this illusion messes with is sight, hearing and mana senses. The sight is due to seeing multiples of Hania (and his allies), the doppelgangers will sound as the originals would if spoken to and the mana of those being used as doppelgangers will feel like they are everywhere making it hard to pinpoint the original mage.

[attr="class","ardereescroll"] Ardere felt a tingle run down his spine as the bodies of fallen comrades were lifted up and lunged forth to him. These were no longer mages--they were corrupted. He's attempting to take me out first. Bastard. The Kasai possessed a keen instinct and nearly inhuman reflexes, but there were too many closing in on him now--he had to let them hit him. As the Daemon piled on top of him like the monsters they were, the Captain's form was engulfing in smoldering armor. Cindered plates and blazing padding consumed him like an armor straight from a volcano. Don't die. Don't hold them back. Don't let them down. He whispered to himself as his mind wandered back to what he'd told himself prior to this excursion. [break][break] Don't hinder them. Don't let the team down. Most importantly; don't die. [break][break] Utilizing his likely superior strength, the Crimson Lion slammed his foot into the ground. As earth and dirt ripped apart, he'd attempt to tear his enemies from his body. It did not matter if there was a dozen or a hundred, he'd escape. Fortunately Griswold reacted quickly to the Golden Dawn Captain's orders and rushed in to assist. We make for the Keep. Good work Hania. His Vice Captain was intelligent enough to discern that their enemies would not be able to overcome a Sensory spell of that rank, at least for now. Ardere hoped it would buy them enough time as they rushed into the Keep. But what worried him was the corruption, especially on Barron who already held such intense, volatile power. [break][break] As they made it into the fortress, the fire mage barricaded the door with a large chunk of rubble before deactivating his blazing armor. Immediately feeling the pain within his muscles return, the man groaned a bit. While in his spell's form, the pain ceased but now that it was over he could feel it again. Perhaps activating a Physical Reinforcement spell during combat was his best bet to ease his muscles, but that was only temporary. It was far more likely that the strain on his body would eventually take a toll but he couldn't think about that now. I have a theory if you'll hear me out. Lighting a flame on his index finger, he burned a circle into the ground. Remember what the Azure Deer said; this Mana Zone is bigger on the inside. With the Forgotten Tower juicing him up, we have no idea what Asmodeus has done to this place. But we do know he has Lieutenants. This much I remember. So what if we're not in an alternate timeline at all? We're just in a section of the Grand Magic Zone that is mimicking a point in time. Not an illusion but not an alternate time either. Diving the circle into smaller sections with an even smaller circle in the middle. If each of his Lieutenants or Princes has a domain here, then it's likely we'll pass through more than one or two. But the Tower has to be at the center and so does Asmodeus. Staring at the drawing he'd scorched into the stone beneath their feet, he could not help but feel like they were spiraling towards a very different confrontation than the one with Aamon. Brute strength wouldn't win all of their battles here. No. They'd need far more than that. [break][break] Ardere looked to the door. We don't have much time. Those Captains will storm us. Taking a deep breath, he stood up straight. I think Gris is right. Our best bet is to go for the Shining Stone Palace. If there is a Prince of this place, I imagine he'll be waiting for us there. Asmodeus mentioned pride. If this is about pride, then Zaven and I will have to set ours aside and ignore those Captains. We go straight for the head of the serpent. Letting out a slight sigh from his maw, the Divine Dragon tilted his head back. I can fly us there. While Salamander or a golem would work, they'd be bigger targets. So if you'd all indulge me and grab onto me, I'll get us there. Remembering the last time he'd been flung into the Shining Stone Palace by his friend Nicodemus Silva, this time would be quite different. Much was different now. He was different. If the group agreed to his plan, his form would begin to waver as skin turned to scales. But first he'd hear out the other mages if they had anything to say, or perhaps a better idea.
Name of Spell: King's Flame: Tyr[break] Elemental Type: Fire[break] Rank & Spell Type: Grand | Attack Creation/Physical Reinforcement[break] Range & Speed: Self | N/A[break] Mana Cost: 40 (20)[break] Stats Effected: +Grand Strength[break] Applicable Perks: Mana Conservationist, Concussive Blows, Battle Knight, Brute, Herculean Strength.[break] Description: Ardere has used this spells for years, and is considered one of his most used spells. Based on the Ifrit spell Lysander used and the Abyss Armor Elizabeth utilized, this spell has been honed and practiced. The mage creates an armor of flame across his entire body, lighting his hair on fire in the process. This also causes his muscles to expand and strengthen as the PR aspect of it reinforces his strength. This allows him to punch holes in buildings, or even level them. The power of the flame and reinforcement are used in tandem to make this a monstrously terrifying offensive spell.
[break] Oh Ardere....this is not just about you and Zaven. You all have delicious Pride that I will feast on before I crush it. Lucifer had moved down from the roof of the Tower to the room that sat above them all, the room where Damion and Malcath first made themselves known. If only his predecessors had been smarter about it all, perhaps they wouldn't need to go to such drastic measures to fix this world. Such a shame. Here he watched their every move through the eyes and ears of the dead. Here he was not just a Prince--he was a King. [break][break] As the Crimson Lion was swarmed, he'd broken free from the horde of corrupted mages. But this was just the tip of the iceberg. Now several dozen mages had risen up, shadowed by a malicious mana that corrupted their very souls. As this horde stormed forth, the group entered the Keep. This horde of mages surrounded the Keep, waiting for their next meal to exit and fall right into their trap. They began to bang on the walls and shake the doors. While the barricade set up held for now, it would not hold for much longer. An army of the dead waited for them outside, hungering for the Royal Knights--Lucifer's Army nonetheless. Corrupted. Taken by darkness just as he had been. They'd all suffer in their undeath--but they'd do his bidding nonetheless. [break][break] The two Captains themselves had been engulfed in an illusion placed by the Crimson Lions Vice Captain. Smart. But these corrupted mages had lost their sense of selves and identity. They were consumed by malice and hatred, blindly firing spells in every direction to destroy all in their path. There was no sense of loyalty to the resurrected mages around them, they'd take the blasts of thread and blood as well. Now only that but they'd hit one another with their attacks, wounds that rather than simply regenerate were filled with mana and scarred over. Barron and Jagen eventually overwhelmed this illusion with some sort of combined, corrupted attack, but it had bought the mages quite a bit of time to enter the Keep. Unfortunately if they did not act quickly, it would all be for naught. [break][break] Jagen and Barron were about to begin their approach to the fortress where the enemies were hiding. Every passing second grew dire. A place of sanctuary could so easily turn into a tomb lest they enacted some plan. The cannon fire had grown more intense now, Nero barely holding out against it off in the distance. The very walls of the Capital now shook and trembled. Lysander had sacrificed himself to end the worst of it, yet this battle was far from over. Whilst his comrades had been distracted by the icy illusion, Arturius had already made his way to the roof of the Keep, preparing a large scale attack of gold if he was not perceived by one of the mages in time. Being barely twenty meters above them, it was likely at least one of them would sense his mana. The aura blaring around him was gold that grew darker and darker by the second, turning into a disgusting brown. What had Lucifer done to them?
[attr="class","zavenreescroll"] Before the party fell back… [break][break]
Zaven was close to losing his cool as he heard Hania’s answer to him. It seemed that every single fucking time he try to show some backbone he gets treated like a fucking asshole. So he was tired of it…He glared at the Crimson Lion Vice captain just before all hell broke out and they were forced to escape. Once they got back to the keep he was angry, not by what he had seen but because yet again this was feeling as though he had become the root of the problems in a team situation. He could feel the anger boiling… [break][break]
Back to the modern… [break][break]
He listened to their words, the different theories were swimming in his head until they decided that going after the Shining Palace was the best course of action, and while he had a way to get them all there. Ardere spoke up saying that he would fly them all and while that may be something that was doable…but the risks were far outweighing the good points that Zaven had to stop them. ”Listen…you are all great strengths and talents for the kingdom…but there is something here that is stopping us from doing our jobs…with all the forces out there, there is a limited amount of what can be done from one person. Ardere…you can get them to the Shining Palace without issue…Hania, if you can please make it so that your sensory spells can render you all unseen this will go smoother. I am going to draw away the forces that are causing problems…if this is as you think…this is just an isolated moment that has been created…not an actual time split. So I am going to be a big target while also causing as many issues as I can…” He said as his grimoire floated up near his head now. ”Are we all ready for this?” He smiled as he had a burning desire to let out some aggression as much as he did to allow the group to get to their destination safely…he would rejoin them after all.
Having heard everyone out at this point, it made a good deal of sense that no one individual was entirely right about the entire situation, as none of them truly knew. But out of all the ideas pitched up until this point, he had to believe that the likeliest possibility was the one presented by Ardere. Given the month he had spent out in the most dangerous region of the shadow magic region, the place where a portion of the shadow palace had fallen and continued to spread darkness across the world at a slow pace even now, it made a lot of sense that this place was somehow made up out of various subsections. They were dealing with time magic, not just shadow or fire magic. The way Griswold saw it, Time was the greatest of all magics without question, simply because it covered quite literally all of the bases at once.
If you had to deal with a fast opponent, you’d slow them down or speed yourself up. If you needed to deal with potent defenses, you’d just increase the passing of time until it withered away. And if you were to be mortally wounded, you’d just rewind time to a moment where you were still in peak condition.
Whether these options were all on the table for Asmodeus or not remained to be seen, as using such magic more than likely required an immense amount of mana to sustain, which made being in this particular magic region all the more dangerous. He had heard stories of how being in a specific magic region might boost the magical capabilities of those that utilized a similar type of magic, meaning the archdemon had perched itself in the very location that made his magic that much stronger. As was to be expected of the demon he had been told was far more clever than Aamon was. That said, receiving confirmation as to how he had assumed the leader of this region would be found within the fortress above them meant that Griswold had at least some grasp on the situation. This was good, as it made him feel less out of place between captains and vice captains alike.
Feeling the tension between the other three quite well, mostly so between Zaven and Hania, Griswold did his best to not involve himself into their quarrel. While he wouldn’t go as far as to say arguing was beneath him, there was something else that took his attention. For as Zaven claimed that he was going to do what was within his power to keep everyone busy while the rest of the group made their way towards the likeliest location of the ruler of this place, Griswold picked up on a growing presence not that far above them. Since Hania had claimed to possess no flight capabilities outside of their spirit dive, which was not something they were willing to waste, Ardere stated that he had the ability to do it and could take them all up. So if Zaven was staying behind and Hania was going to be carried up by Ardere, Griswold could stand to take exactly one detour before also heading up.
As it were, he had a few flight options, as well as a wind walking spell or two, the latter of which would do exactly what was needed for him to deal with what could only be explained as a growing threat. Thanks to a mixture of his highly trained Ki capabilities, his extrasensory means and the addition of his regular senses, which had been elevated to animalistic levels, Griswold could tell that one of the assailants was doing something above them. Being a feeling he could not shake, he was of the type of mind that would rather do something and explain later rather than explaining first and risking the enemy getting the drop on them. So as he took a deep breath in and closed his eyes for a moment, Zaven would find that Griswold would not dispute his plan in the slightest, as it actually made a lot of sense.
“I concur. But if you’re going to do something, better do it now.”
No sooner than he had finished that sentence, he opened his eyes again, causing nigh-invisible zephyrs of wind to form around him before the black knight darted towards the nearest window. With a quick motion of his blade, he shattered his point of exit before blowing his body right through it. Effectively running upon the air at a speed of 45 meters per second, the elven mage did not wish to burn through too much of his mana just to get an edge this early on, similar to how Hania did not wish to burn through their spirit dive before the real fight was upon them. Still, Griswold realized very well that these opponents were nothing to scoff at, and should not be underestimated no matter what. But he had the means by which to make up for his relatively low speed. For as he made his way outside, his feet finding footing on thin air, he switched up his stance ever so slightly.
As he did, the black bull zoomed through the air, no longer moving at a speed of 45 meters, but a whopping 90 meters per second. Traversing the distance in no time at all, it was almost as though he disappeared and reappeared next to the individual on the roof. Having no idea as to who this was, he had no reservations with potentially killing this man. Bringing his sword in with a left-handed sideways swing that carried as much of his built-up momentum as humanly possible, the goal was to sever the mage’s head with one strike before he could respond. And even if he were to survive, the chances of them being able to continue their current plan of attack seemed incredibly small. But it would not end there, for once the strike carried through, a crescent blade of wind would release outward, adding on top of the initial attack and tearing through the ceiling of this fortress.
Not believing there to be such a thing as overkill when dealing with individuals that seemed to be of a captain level, the secondary strike that followed right up on the initial one would not just haphazardly destroy the ceiling of the keep. On the contrary, it was meant to do so in order to allow Ardere and Hania a way of flying straight out of the keep and up towards the flying fortress. With a bit of luck, this individual that Griswold did not know would have their head lobbed off with the two strikes of both magical and physical nature, allowing him to follow up on the two Crimson Lion mages, trailing right behind them as he too would make his way up. But if the case were that they would in fact not die, Zaven would be able to engage them through the same hole in the ceiling and go about his plan of distracting all of the corrupted individuals in their stead.
Ironically enough, only time could tell how things would turn out.
Sensed Arturius above them with Ki 3, Sensory and Animal senses, used wind walking speed boost spell to get out of the keep and up to the top with the addition of Mad Dash, doubling speed from 45 to 90 for a little while. Used his Grand Relic sword to strike at Arturius’ neck, followed up directly with the wind blade attack for another Grand amount of damage. The spell would, in the process, bring down part of the ceiling, allowing Hania and Ardere a direct shot at flying off to the flying fortress, and for Zaven to get out to engage Arturius if he survived the initial attack. Tiny Side-Note: This is also the first time anyone gets to see his Air Pressure magic, like OMG.

Name of Spell: Notus Form: Gradient Wind Elemental Type: Air Pressure Rank & Spell Type: Senior | Physical Reinforcement | Healing Range & Speed: Self | 50 m/s Mana Cost: 30mp | 15mp Stats Effected: +20 m/sApplicable Perks: Master Healer, Full Blitz & Quick Shot Description: Named after the deity of the south wind, the user of the magic activates this spell by taking a deep breath in, causing his eyes to be clouded over for a moment. Once they have done so, invisible zephyrs surround the user as an aura of wind. Increasing their physical speed by 20 meters per second, they form a layer of air pressure mana on the soles of their feet, providing far greater levels of maneuverability and evasiveness. Allowing one to break, evade and dash off briefly in the air where one might otherwise be at the whim of their opponent. Since this is essentially wind walking, one has to remain in motion or they’ll lose their footing as it does not allow levitation or flight. Additionally, this aura heals the user for a Senior amount for every round the spell is maintained. Should fingers or toes be severed, they will fully regenerate within a post, while limbs and non-vital organs will fully regenerate within two posts. Those with at least 30 Sensory can see the invisible zephyrs as being green in appearance.
Name of Spell: Zephyrus Reaping: Lacerating Gust Elemental Type: Air Pressure Rank & Spell Type: Grand | Attack Creation | Sensory (Homing) Range & Speed: 170m | 85m/s Mana Cost: 50mp | 25mp Stats Effected: +12 Power Applicable Perks: Apex Predator, Overpowered, Battle Knight, Quick Shot & Skilled Sniper Description: A stronger version of Cutting Breeze, this spell is activated by temporarily clouding the eyes while performing a sideways cutting motion with his left hand, sending an invisible wind blade towards one (or more) specified target(s). Sending out one wind blade for every 75 control the user has, these blades can cut through or break most major bones, as well as easily ripping through non-magical constructs. Being roughly 130 centimeters in length and 1,5 centimeters thin, the blades will keep following the specified targets for as long as they remain within the maximum range of the spell and can be sensed by the caster, as is needed for tracking as per the homing rules. Those with at least 60 sensory can see the wind blades being green in color, with them otherwise remaining invisible.
[attr="class","haniascroll"]Hania, for now, remained quiet concentrating on the little information he could glean from his spell, the two captains had indeed been confused by what he had done but it hadn't lasted long and his spell had been broken. "That's interesting." he said more to himself than others. "Like the actual versions of Jaegan and Barron, they hold no sensory capabilities, however, with the corruption if they work together it won't matter... they just broke my illusion." he informed the others, while it was true that this was his weakest illusion he was unsure about casting another to have it potentially broken shortly after, it was a waste of mana in his opinion. He knew, for now, they were safe inside the keep but the banging and scratching at the doors and walls showed it was just a matter of time before they'd be engaged and likely swarmed by what was just outside.
Hania looked at Ard as he spoke "I wouldn't act surprised captain, you are in no fit state to fight it is logical to take the person who is injured out first if that person just happens to be one of the strongest all the better for them." For him it just made sense from a tactical point of view, on their own kingdom had used over the years. He closed his eyes and went silent as Ard spoke about his theory, he was paying attention but he was also going through information. "I believe it might be a mixture of the two but I'm not one hundred percent on that... I do, however, agree with captain Blake in saying you're only going to hurt yourself more by attempting to do that, I'll also add I'm not stepping off the ground unless in my spirit dive."
On that point he was adamant. "I am not prideful enough to believe I should be doing what a bird can naturally, if I was meant to fly I'd have been born with wings." he finished, his eyes were still closed, he also still believed that his full spirit dive having wings was a joke made by Asmostia although he had found them useful the few times he had to go into his full dive. He had to admit he could feel the tension between himself and the shadow of the dawn, he didn't know if it was a clash in personalities, ideals or just the situation in general. He would like to think it was the latter because he wasn't questioning Zaven's authority nor what he wished to do at least up to this point, what he called out was his wording and how it came across at least to him.
He shook his head to Zaven's suggestion "That move is needlessly foolish and dangerous..." he began his eyes finally opening "I understand why aiming for the shining palace seems like the most logical way forward, however, we need to stick together and not have a person make what would ultimately be a futile sacrifice." his tone was softer than it normally was "Even if I was to use a stronger illusion it may well be broken shortly after like the first one leaving us in a situation where we are currently in without the walls to protect us." he finished Hania eyes going to the ceiling "There's another above us and they're prepping for making our tomb." he informed the others unsure if they had as keen senses due to the corruption. His eyes turned to Griswold as he not only spoke but started attacking whoever was on the roof.
"The keep has a passageway that leads deeper into the capital, we could use this to get to Nero and ask for his aid..." he knew even with Griswold fighting above he would likely still be able to hear him without alerting the enemy. "The caveat of that is if they follow us we would have limited space to avoid their attacks and if we're reckless then we would cause a collapse of the tunnel." Even this was a risky move and he knew it but out of everything that had been put forward it seemed the safest option by far. Because they would be together, they wouldn't be making themselves targets by trying to get to the palace they would isolate the captains from the hoard making them more bearable to engage while heading for the person that could possibly aid them if they could get there in time... Also, it meant he wouldn't have to come off the ground which was a nice added bonus but he would wait to hear the final decision.

[attr="class","ardereescroll"] Ardere was faced with a dilemma; to allow Zave and Gris to buy them time and head towards the Palace or alternatively--Head into the tunnels and make their way towards Nero. Truth be told, neither option was without a heavy risk. If they caught got in the air, it was over and same if the tunnels came down on them. Both plans relied on the mages stealth as well as their dexterity. Sheer speed was not enough, it was probably they'd be pursued by fast attacks as well. [break][break] Now is not the time to play hero, Zaven. But if you truly think you can buy us time then so be it. The Kasai began to grind his teeth. While they would likely be forced into the Shining Palace regardless, he had to admit the idea of seeing Nero again was nigh impossible to pass up. He was perhaps the greatest Wizard King this Kingdom had ever seen, and Ardere was the one who had to kill him in the end. Even though Malacath had long since claimed the former King's body, this was a death that had weighed on him for some time. Perhaps his wisdom was one they could use right now. I'm the liability here. I know that. But I have to try. Hania has a good point and I'm a big enough man to admit we may need help on this one. Pride be damned. So stop the dilly dallying and let's go. Come on Gris! It was Arturius on the roof. The Golden Knight. Another man lost to time. The Diamond War was nothing but loss. That's all war ever is; loss. There's really no point to it. Only death waits in the trenches. Death and sadness. It was time to break that mold, if only he could. [break][break] The Crimson King did not give it a second thought or a moment, instead he grabbed his Vice Captain and took off towards the entrance of the tunnels. It had been some time since he'd been down there, but his body had not forgotten. The muscles remember paths long since abandoned, even if they've nearly faded from memory. Stacking his Ryujin and Fylja's Prowess spells, the strain on his muscles was intense but the pain was drowned out by sheer adrenaline pumping through his veins. His intense speed would not be able to be matched by the Daemon as it was combined with an element of surprise. Every ounce of fight in him ached to go to the Palace, but his heart would not allow it. I'm coming, Nero. Even if it was just one moment lost in time, it was a moment he'd never forget. There were many things he wanted to say, things he wanted to apologize for. But that was all in the past now. What mattered now were the people still alive, the friends he could help even battered and beaten. [break][break] Pale flames engulfed the Divine Dragon and in these flames he forgot his pain if only for this passing moment. Holding on tight to his Vice Captain, he burst forth through a secret entrance into the underground tunnels. The only light shining here now was Ardere, the blinding torch in the darkness. Salamander began to stir violently in his form, urging him to calm down. His heart was pounding, blood rushing like an untamable current. Nero was a bit far, but close enough that even he could feel that insurmountable mana. They needed to reach him before he decided to go to the Palace, before the end of the Void King began. He wasn't sure which weighed heavier on him now, his own failures or the Elven warrior whose memories intertwined his own. It was time to find out. It was all in the past though, right? That's what he kept telling himself...
Name of Spell: King's Flame: Ryujin[break] Elemental Type: Fire[break] Rank & Spell Type: Grand | Transformation (Transfigure - Transport) | Physical Reinforcement (Speed)[break] Range & Speed: Self | 60 m/s[break] Mana Cost: 40 (20)[break] Stats Effected: +20 m/s[break] Applicable Perks: Mana Conservationist, Predator's Mutation.[break] Description: The user quite literally transmutes their own body to grow wings that appear like those of a dragon, and burst into flames. The user's fingers also extend by 4 inches into claws with white scales that go up his arms/legs/torso and across his face, his feet being subject to the same claw growth as his hands. Ardere's eyes will even turn a piercing yellow, with vertical slit eyelids. The wings themselves are 50 inches. This spell's speed is further increased via the use of Physical Reinforcement magic, causes Ard's veins to pulse as magic flows through them. Ardere can transport others if he wishes, with a maximum of 5 people. [break][break] Name of Spell: King's Flame: Fylgja's Prowess[break] Elemental Type: Fire[break] Rank & Spell Type: Grand | Attack Creation/Physical Reinforcement[break] Range & Speed: 75 m | 75 m/s[break] Mana Cost: 40 (20)[break] Stats Effected: +20 m/s Speed[break] Applicable Perks: Mana Conservationist[break] Description: Ardere's body becomes encased in a blazing armor comprised entirely of flames. This armor takes the form resembling a sort of Lion warrior, with a Lion head and claws. This is to represent his Fylgja or spirit animal as a lion. The spell drastically increases his speed, but the blazing armor itself allows him to dish out massive 3rd and fourth degree burn damage. He can expand and contract the armor at will, to a maximum of a 75 m tall lion warrior, used to pummel buildings or mountain sides. The armor can be as tight as right up against his skin, or as large as the size mentioned before. This gives the spell great versatility in combat, and makes it quite frightening to go up against.

[break] [break][break] To the Group: [break][break] Pride be damned eh? Bold of you, Dragon. Let's see how long you can keep that up before you crumble into the abyss of memories. Lucifer hovered above the city, dark feathered wings holding him high above the Royal Capital. In truth this place was nothing but one giant memory, a pocket in time extracted from the mind of another. But here, here he had real power. Nothing like when he was a human. Back then he'd been useless, far too useless. His downfall had been his own Pride. Now. Now it would be all of their downfall. Every man has a weakness. Even you, Ardere. Beating Aamon didn't take that away from you. Chuckling to himself, he could not help but feel amused at Zaven's idea. Through Arturius' eyes he could see the entire group and through his ears he could hear their words. That was at least until the Crimson Lion took off into the tunnels. It was in these tunnels he and the Ravencrest would feel a darkness looming over them, watching their moves. [break][break] Just a way's away, the former Wizard King stood tall as a pillar of strength and resolve. This was a man even Lucifer did not dare contest against. While Ardere and Zaven may be the powerhouses, Nero was a real King. Even so, he'd make a beautiful pawn. [break][break] Nero himself could feel his body begin to wear down as the continued fire from the Shining Stone Palace rained down upon them. But after a heroic sacrifice, the fire began to cease. He could rest if only for a second, that was until he felt a familiar blazing mana rushing towards him. There was a familiarity, but something was different about it. For a moment he was reminded of Ryoku Kasai, but he'd long since passed. So who was it really? [break][break] To Griswold/Zaven: [break][break] This Daemonic version of Arturius was a monster, consumed by rage and hunger. But his fighting instincts remained true. While he was not fast enough to dodge Griswold's attack, he was fast enough to cover his skin in a golden armor that began to crack as the sword and air pressure struck it with immeasurable force. A gargantuan gaping hole was blasted in the roof of the Fortress, causing Arturius to be launched back several meters, neck with a large gaping wound in it but not quite severed. This was a wound that now began to slowly regenerate. Just how resilient was he? Looking up to his foe, the golden armor began to regrow around his form as his mana was tainted with an abyssal shadow. At this point in time the former Golden Dawn Captain was perhaps the greatest threat of all of the Captains. But it was not strength that had been his downfall, it was love. Without that, who here could match him? [break][break] Looking down to Zaven who had been in his squad, there was no hesitation. Nothing human was left in him, not anymore. Whatever had been done to him was beyond fixing. Instead the Golden mage slammed his hands into the roof, utilizing his Double Tap ability to double cast a Grand level AoE spell that sent titanic gold spikes all throughout the building in an attempt to not only harm them but block their path to the other mages. (Standard AoE size + 20 m and speed + 10 m/s) The building itself would be ripped to pieces as crumbling rubble fell to the ground, shaking the earth. A place of defense would now fall under the might of a Daemon. Arturius himself stared at them with black eyes, only a small hint of yellow at the center remained. His muscles were pulsating with power and malice, veins nearly bursting through his skin. This was not the man Zaven once knew. Immediately following it up by summoning five golden swords, he was ready to strike like a feral beast. The two mages did not have much time to react with such powerful spells being thrown at them, but there was still a chance. They needed to act quickly before Jagen and Barron showed up. [break][break] To Ardere/Hania: [break][break]
Inside the tunnels the two will find a darkness trailing behind them as tentacles attempt to grab at them. Something is pursuing them. This darkness feels different than the Captains, stronger. Both will be overcome with the feeling that the truly strong foe here is now watching them. At the end of this tunnel, if they make it, they will find Nero who is injured and tired but still standing. Burly form and blonde hair, his glasses are cracked slightly. [break][break] Ardere? Is that you? You look so...different...What are you doing here? Shouldn't you be in the Palace?
[attr="class","haniascroll"]Hania would listen to Ard as he spoke to Zaven, he was right this wasn't the time for such things. They were meant to be acting as a single cohesive group, they had agreed that given they didn't know what they were going against they should remain together but he could already tell him that wasn't going to be the case for very long. 'Playing hero that's what he wants to call it? I could call it many things and all of them insulting.' the ice spirit sent to the ice mage through their bond 'I admit it isn't the wisest course of action but it is his choice.' he sent back to the spirit unmoving the entire time, his eyes going to where they entered. He didn't need to activate a map spell to know who and what was on the other side of it and that they would be breached soon.
He could already hear the door cracking. "You are weakened but that doesn't make you a liability but we need to decide what we are doing and quickly." he said looking over his left shoulder at his captain "Right now isn't a time to be prideful nor is it to rush into battle as we have no idea what we are dealing with, the skirmish with Jagen and Barron proved that." the fact that two strong people could be not just tainted but completely corrupted concerned him. "It is concerning that they also broke my illusion even though they have the same understanding of sensory as a baked potato, so I would like to find out more about that so I can adapt." he said his tone remaining as neutral as ever, Ard may not know him all that well compared to his sister but he would be able to hear the concern in the ice mages undertone, unlike the others.
Before he knew it he was grabbed by the fire mage and dragged towards the hidden passageway of their makeshift sanctuary. As it wasn't expected he did exhale suddenly. He did struggle a little and sighed resigning himself to his fate "You do remember I can run just as fast as you." he informed the one carrying him as if he was a stuffed animal. In his current 'captivity', he couldn't move too well to cast anything it was needed. As Ard ran through the entrance of the passageway into the unknown darkness. They had just done what was a terrible idea and that was split up. He knew eventually they would end up together once more, likely at the shining palace, until then, they all needed to survive one way or another.
"Captain, don't get lost in the sorrow of the past and don't try and fix it because if this is just a shattered memory fragment then nothing we do will change anything for us." he said looking up to the man "I also suggest that we play along, if we go out of what is expected for this moment in time then we'll be facing more challenges than we might otherwise be able to avoid." he suggested realizing that he looked far different than he once did "And I hope you can think on your feet to explain the complexion. hair colour change and why you aren't where you're meant to be." knowing all of this was likely to come up at least once while they fumbled through the current problem they found themselves in. He looked forward and blinked, he felt a strong mana ahead of them, it was familiar yet different.
"Is that Nero's mana? I... I only ever sensed it when it was..." he cut himself off knowing that likely was a sore subject for Ard given he had been the one to land the killing blow and likely felt guilty that he couldn't help the man the entire time he had the daemon inside of him. "Don't... don't let your emotions drive you." he realized that was like asking Salamander not to be a fire-breathing lizard but he felt like it should be said given he knew how difficult this meeting was going to be. His eyes looked back as he felt another mana behind them, it wasn't as strong as the one in front but it was still far stronger than Jagen and Barron's "We're being tracked and likely watched if they use shadow or dark elements." he informed Ard trying to think of something as he saw the tendrils trying to strike them.
He subtly flicked his right hand making three of what could only be described as blue flames seems to appear, these were actually all ice shards with an ice mist surrounding them. Moving his hand forward when finding a tendril he shot the shard towards it knowing each and every time it would hit due to the fact these things homed in on their intended targets. He knew due to how weak the spell was that the chance of doing any real damage was non-existent but it would likely buy them the time and make them back off. If it didn't work he'd have to figure something else to help. Luckily the end of the tunnel was in sight and before he knew it Nero's voice could be heard talking to Ard. "Ardere..." gods that felt so odd and uncomfortable for the ice mage to say
"I know you like carrying me like a stuffie or a handbag but would you mind putting me down now?" he would ask the older male, his voice still hadn't changed from its normal stoic self but the undertone showed he was less than amused in how he had been essentially manhandled by his captain when he was quite able to run alongside him and keep up if that order had been given to him. If and when he was put down he would make a cold pocket of icy air around ard to help with the soreness he was inevitably going to feel the moment the adrenaline wore off. He moved over to Nero noticing that he was injured. The ice mage wasn't the strongest healer being an offensive mage but he did have at least one healing spell that could help the male.
Holding his hand out with the palm towards the sky his hand closes only to open once more to what appears to be a faint icy drift falling off it, above his hand, how hovers a rune having what could be mistaken as a snowdrift coming off it. This isn't actually the case it is just very small and fine ice shards. This rune is around one inch tall and half an inch wide and starts to hover around his body increasing not only his speed. He had to make sure to envision Nero or this spell would heal him first and foremost and he didn't need healing at current. "Hopefully this will help you sir." he said calmly concentrating on the task at hand but remaining fully aware of their surroundings and any conversation that may arise during this encounter. He also remained alert as what was following them may be ready to attack at any point let alone anything else that may happen.

[attr="class","zavenreescroll"] His order was ignored…again…Zaven was pissed off at the moment that Gris went outside first before he gave the signal, but what the fuck was he supposed to do. When he was high enough in the air and watched as Griswold attacked Arturius, the Shadow of Dawn remembered his former captain and was wanting to say something…to reverse the demonization but it just…he saw the eyes of his former captain…he knew what this place was. The veins on Zaven’s arms and neck began to bulge as mana surged through him. He was brought back to a time in his head as he made dark dealings for his father and the Blake family. ”Griswold…be ready for what is about to happen.” He would say as the colossal attack from Arturius would separate the two mages from their teammates before calling upon his own power to attack them. Who was Zaven to allow this to go without notice? [break][break]
“Typhon dive directly towards Arturius…if anyone is to kill my mentor…it will be me.” He would say as he charged the man in the great shadow dragon golem. He moved at a speed of 36 meters per second and then outstretched his right arm and held it to the sky as his grimoire began to flip open to the grand spell he was going to cast. ”Shadows of Ruination” He would say as a small black orb would start in his palm then expand outward to the point it bursts almost like a balloon that had been filled with too much water. This deals not only grand damage to everyone in the area of the spell but attempts to debuff the ability to heal or buff using the clashing rules, this applies only to senior rank spells or lower and gives a senior rank endurance debuff. Its speed is 85 meters per second and area covers 150 meters, as he was targeting that man, if the spell did not finish him, then Typhon hopefully running into him and crashing into the rubble would hopefully do the trick…there was still another bastard to kill after Arturius.
