The old man waited for them to approach, and they even talked to him, albiet one at a time as he responded to them with just a single action. He held up his hand and then pointed above him before bringing his hand down to his lips in an attempt to hush the group as there came a loud crack of wood at the main door and also below them as the old man looked up at them. Unlike the other Atlanteans that had a diverse set of features...this man looked the most human, yet he had the facial expression of sorrow. Lydian and Rosalia would actually be the most shocked out of the group because the visage of the old man looked almost like a very old friend, Silas...for Rosalia. And to Lydia, the face seemed almost like her own, as if looking in a twisted funhouse mirror.
The old man then let out a soft sigh. ”Long ago, this very room used to be alight with the sun and the people of this nation populated these halls like it was a celebration every day...We had advanced sciences and magic that allowed us to tap in the very potential of the world around us. Life was good, and the people were...prideful and happy to be a part of Atlantis. There were parties of rather bachaus in nature like the people were gods...but as is the nature of living beings on this planet...we are never content with just our small slice of life.” He sighs again as he stands up and gestures as the room shook once more, the earthquakes were becoming more frequent. ”and Advisor of the king found a box in the ocean, guarded by great guardians that could rival even our mightiest of machinations and magic combined. We prevailed in the end, the King lost his only son in that fateful conquest...if he could take it back...he would I am sure, but what is done is done. We opened the box, and what was inside swept through Atlantis like a plague, corrupting its citizens and destroying countless bloodlines..” He looks at Artemis now, a familiar feeling would wash over the Green Mantis, as if this was something that resonated with her own soul. ”In the end, the king and queen decided it was best to lock away the great evil that they helped unleash before it spread like the very water we found it in. We are all from the ocean anyway, so it was only right that we went back to it. Of course we did our best to protect as many as we could inside of this keep...I am sure you have meat them already...I haven’t visited them in a while as I wanted to take a peek here to see what was going on...I had to destroy so many of those poor souls and the creations that once roamed these halls to help create.” He wept openly as he pulled something from under his cloak...a sigil...its underside was etched and molded to a peculiar shape. ”I assume you are here to put an end to the great calamity and the poor soul that it has taken refuge in this generation. I am glad to finally pass this along, it means that my job is done after all this time...I miss my family.” He hands the sigil to Artemis before explaining its use, and that there is another key...apparently in the hands of Dio which is why the earthquakes keep happening. As he finished telling them about the key the door began to break. The sunken had apparently been alerted, and the culprit was one of the watchers that tailed the group when they rode the Chasm Crawler. The old man flung off the cloak, revealing himself to be a truly well built despite his apparent age. He waved his hand and old tarnished, yet still regal armor and a great sword appeared in each hand. ”Go on, I will hold them off. It was a pleasure meeting you; Artemis, Lydia, Cyrus, and Rosalia. You will make your nation proud with whatever actions you finish here with, and I will be glad to finally rest and tell my family of the heroes that have lifted our curse.” He said as the door exploded forth. He rushed on and swung both blades as a thundering crash and the subsequent shockwave would do nothing but usher the group further up the stairs...they could not contend with what that man was doing.
The old man has spoken and given you all a gift. Now all that is left is to rid the world of the calamity, or let it ruin you and Atlantis before it reaches Clover. Make your way up to the throne room and face your destiny.

[attr="class","florencetext"] As the four mages each took turns speaking to the old man he wouldn't say anything at first nor would he take the healing spell. Which meant he either felt no pain at the moment or was simply ready for the end. Perhaps it was both as the man put a finger to his moth to quite the magic knights the women would shake. It was then he would turn to speak to them. Lydia would take a step back as she looked at his face which was hers but it was wrong it was like she was looking at herself in a fun mirror. The vice captain would listen as the man told them what this room use to be for and the fate of this once great city. The glass mage had always thought they elders of the village were the remaining noble family but as she found out that the king and queen of the kingdom lost there only son trying to get the chest that brought the kingdom to ruins it was clear the elders weren't not that it matter much as they were still doing there best to keep there people alive. The man would also state that the Sunken were Atlanteans that fell to the calamity at least the pink haired mage thought that's what he was saying. As Artemis was handed the sigil and they four magic knights were told what it was and that Dio had one as well Lydia wasn't sure what to think. [break][break] Then again she didn't have much time to about it as the Sunken broke into the room. She was ready to fight them yet it seemed yet again someone would sacrifice themselves for the magic knight. As the old man charged at the creatures Lydia would speak to him in elvish. Namárië yer- soldier -yes was an honor ana met tye. Lótesse i gods láv- tye a sanda warriors faire. She would then turn around and start making her way up the stairs perhaps the other knew what she said not that it matter as they were meant for the old man not them. Come on let's go finish this once and for all.

Artemis would pause for a moment, feeling the tension in the air as the sounds of battle in the other room seemed so distant. She knew that the Chasm Crawler was doing its best, and she hoped that it was surviving its fight. However, her focus was quickly shifted back towards the old man, who seemed to be able to respond to them now. [break][break]
Her companions had offered the same type of help. They had seen the old man, and as frail as he looked, they believed that he needed help. Instead, the old man was the one to help them.[break][break]
A story. [break][break]
The old man seemed to be one of those who knew whatever had happened previously. How the Calamity came to be. How this whole place sunk into the bottom of the sea. How this whole tragedy started. Power. Greed. Pride. And a fall. They were all tied together as the old man weaved his tale. It was a sad story. A tragedy, yet something that they could not do anything about. Instead, they could do something about the future of the place.[break][break]
As the old man regaled his story, he would look at Artemis at a certain point. During this small moment, she felt something resonate within herself, her very soul. She was unsure what it was, or why it had happened, but it felt as though that she was somehow tied to this place in a distant past. Her affinity with water, after all, was something to behold. Maybe, just maybe, her bloodline had some form of Atlantean within it? Possible, yet something she would not consider as the threats started to loom once more.[break][break]
A sigil. [break][break]
Artemis took it, and made sure to keep it within her pockets, safe and sound. [break][break]
“I promise to keep this safe and sound. I promise to ensure that we do not fail you, nor the people in need. I promise to end this with my teammates once and for all.” She would bow to the old man, before he started his way to defend their backs. He would urge them to go, and Artemis followed Lydia’s lead. The woman was the strongest amongst them, the natural leader in this situation. Artemis, with the Sigil in safekeeping, looked back and gave the man a last blessing, “May the Great Spirit Undine keep you safe.”[break][break]
With a last goodbye, Artemis followed Lydia and the group as they made their way to face whatever it was that awaited them within the Throne Room.
[attr=class, cyrustext]Cyrus was a bit too focused on the mission at hand to react to Rosalia's "cutie" remark with anything beyond a nod of acknowledgement, though he was able to catch her question about Hama. He looked at the Black Bull with a surprised expression; how had it taken her this long to ask such a thing? Hama also seemed a bit annoyed, since the woman was asking her partner instead of speaking to her directly.
"Well, Hama is the Spirit of Sap, as you may have gathered." He answered, noticing with a small smile that referring to her as such seemed to put the little lady in a better mood. "She and I have been working together for some months, now. A scroll was sent to the Golden Dawn's headquarters by an anonymous person, the parcel addressed to me."
Hama nodded. "And feel free to speak to me directly, by the way!" She said, standing on her friend's shoulder with her hands on her hips and a slight bite in her voice. "Though maybe once all this settles down, instead of right now, yeah?" To this Cyrus nodded, not wanting to get too distracted.
While he initially just tried to focus on keeping an eye on their surroundings, Cyrus couldn't help but turn to face the fallen old man after noticing that his companions had fallen silent after attempting to speak to him. He saw that the man was gesturing for them to be quiet for a moment so he could speak... but more importantly, he felt a sense of deja vu as he looked at the man. He had a familiar look about him, as though Cyrus had met him before. Though a name came to mind, he couldn't determine how the two could possibly be connected; it had to be some sort of coincidence.
Rather than be distracted by such unimportant musings however, Cyrus found his thoughts dominated by the tale that the old man began to tell the party. He was enraptured by his words, and the sort of longing pain that he could hear in his tone. The more he spoke, the more that Cyrus wished he could have seen just what this place was like before all of the madness of the Sunken... though he mentally reprimanded himself at the thought, coming to the same conclusion as the others as to the identity of what were now their enemies. He gave them a curious emblem, handing it to Artemis and informing them of a similar one in the possession of Dio.
Something he said about the possessed man caught his ear, but he had no time to ask about it as the shaking around them became more and more intense. Like the opening of a floodgate, the Sunken came rushing into the area after breaking down the door. It would seem the Atlantean still had some fight in him however, as he donned a suit of armor and brandished two greatswords, urging them to continue onward and put an end to this Calamity. There were so many questions Cyrus wanted to ask him about Atlantis, the sigil he had given Artemis, and so much more. They hadn't even gotten his name... but there was no time. They had to get moving, and stop this. Lydia and Artemis both bid the warrior farewell, the Crimson Lion even doing so in elvish. "Brave the storm and become its eye..." The sap wizard said, recalling something that his tutor Pesha had once told him during training. Cyrus nodded at his wish for them, following her as she ascended up the stairs first, watching the man for a moment as he charged into the fray.
Definitely familiar...
Once they were on their way, Cyrus spoke up. "I assume you are here to put an end to the great calamity and the poor soul it has taken refuge in this generation," He said, quoting what had caught his attention when the man had spoken to them. "Put an end to... does that mean that there is no way to save Dio? I wish we had more time to talk to him... he also said that Dio having a key is why the earthquakes are becoming more frequent. It might be prudent to make acquiring that key a priority."
Hama rubbed her temples, irritated by how little they had to go on. "I just hope that there's no more trap doors. And that Calamity bastard banished me without even trying when we first saw him!"
Cyrus nodded, wondering just how he could do such a thing so easily. Artemis' bid to the man as they left reminded him of the Elder's parting words. "Undine..." He said, Hama turning to face him at the mention. "...Kariko told us that to trap the Calamity with them, the old king sunk Atlantis. Do you suppose Undine might have had something to do with it?"
He looked at the sigil Artemis had been given. The man said he missed his family... and also mentioned that he "hadn't visited them in a while". That, coupled with what seemed to be firsthand knowledge of the kingdom's past...
"... Theories can come after we're done." He decided, a look of fierce determination on his face as his grip on Lydia's spell tightened. Hama grinned at his expression, always happy to see the boy really show the spirit (heh) he usually tried to keep in check.
The witch listened to Cyrus explain Hama to her. Their relationship was a curiosity to her, and he’d watch her ruby hues fill with awe as she listened. She was caught off-guard when the feminine spirit even chose to speak to her. It was a first for her, and it made her almost lose her grasp on the Chasm Crawler and fall off of it. Vulcan’s and Isabelle’s had only ever spoken to their masters. “I-I’d uh, love to converse after this, Miss Hama.” [break][break] *** [break][break] Rosalia bit her tongue instantly when the man told her to keep quiet. Fuck. She couldn’t tell if it was the Sunken or the simple sound of her voice that had caused the cracking sound. This palace couldn’t be that fragile, could it? When her hues landed back on the old man she almost gasped at the facial features of the man. The ice witch stared in stunned silence as she tried to comprehend what the fuck was happening. As he spoke the words sank in, but were fading behind the appearance of her old friend before her. She felt her lower lip quiver as she listened to the story of Atlantis and her eyes welled up with tears at the older man’s sacrifice. Fuck. [break][break] “We never got your name.” She murmured, wanting to have something to hold onto for the sake of history. The people that had resided within Atlantis needed to know of all who sacrificed for them. That’s how Clover had always worked. The woman steeled herself once the door to the palace cracked open, letting the coldness of her element take over her emotions yet again. It was one of the few benefits of the ice affinity. One of its quirks. [break][break] The others in her party were quick to give the man a goodbye in words, but Rosalia simply bowed low, dipping her head underneath her waist in appreciation for this ancient warrior who was a patriot for his country. Her heels then clicked away from him, up the stairs to the throne room, following the others. He was committed to the cause, and no matter what she said. She wouldn’t be able to stop him. The Magic Knight would morn him once she was home, alone in her room when nobody could hear her. She hated fate when it gripped people in such a way. [break][break]

Each of them thanked and bid farewell, but Rosalia...she bowed and even asked for his name. The old man gave a soft smirk as he fought the sunken, a orichalcum wall was erected from a swing of one of the blades as he looked back to them, and to Rosalia who had not fully left. “My name is no longer important, just finish what I could not...please.”. Just as he finished a giant tentacle smashed through and grabbed the old man and drug him through the wall. There was screaming and crashing, the shockwaves from him swinging the blades was even more ferocious than the earthquakes themselves. The group would more or less be forced upwards at that point and it would become a race against time...could that old man keep up with the horde that he was fighting or were they heading to an even faster route to the grave by going up.
The possessed Dio was talking to himself, a war within his own mind was happening and it was something that would honestly leave a mental scar if seen. ”good let them come, I have grown tired with playing with my first real meal of something other than Atlanteans…” ”What the hell are you talking about I can’t eat a human, you said we were taking their souls not their…” his head would whip back as the calamity personality took hold once more. ”FOOL! You think I meant their entire being meant their bodies...you are even more deprived than I thought...remember I know your thoughts...I know what came over you when you saw the women.“ a sickening two toned laugh echoed throughout the throne room for a moment until the sonic booms were heard below. ”well good, it seems that the old fool could not let his curiosity rest after all...his wife was such a succulent appetizer...though not quite appealing on the eyes as those other women. Soon we will have the sigil...I will have the sigil, and you will have completed our bargain...thank you mortal.”. The calamity spoke finally as it willed Dio’s Grimoire up and now he held an ancient looking scepter...most likely the former queens. He readied an attack as soon as the party would walk through.
When the party enters the throne room it is a place of great majesty, and while it was now defiled it still gleamed as though it was the day that it was built. Dio stands at the center and is smiling as he waits for everyone to enter. The new addition of the scepter is very clear, as is the vivisection and desecrated remains of a once female atlantean. ”let’s not wast our time here, give me the sigil and die peacefully...or end up like the old bitch behind me…. He holds out his left hand, it could be seen as already becoming twisted and deformed.
The time has come for the showdown. The possessed Dio demands the Sigil be given to him and the party will die easy. You all know what you must do.
[attr="class","florencetext"] As they were heading up the stairs Lydia would turn to look back at the old man one more time as he spoke to them one last time. As the tentacle smashed through the wall the man made and grabbed him the vice captain wanted to help. However there wasn't much she could really do as another shock wave from weapon sent them further up the stairs and to what she could only hope was the final fight. She knew what had to be done she just hoped the others knew the same and with that she would make her way into the throne room to kill Dio or die trying. As she entered the room she wasn't surprised that Dio and the calamity where already waiting for them. The glass mage would just stare coldly at what use to be a magic knight while it spoke to them telling them to hand over the Sigil and he would kill them quickly. I don't think we will besides I don't plan on dying just yet. Besides something like what you are doesn't deserve to be in this world anymore. [break][break] As for you Dio if you are still in there that it I don't know what that thing offered you to make you betray you duty as a magic knight not that it matters anymore as you are no longer fit to be one. Lydia would look over to the women that was spoke about but was unsure how long she had been dead. Light Magic: Boots Of Hermes As the light coated her legs Lydia would feel her speed increase however she wouldn't move just yet. The vice captain would then send her light sword towards the what use to be a man to test the water. She would also use her control make a third glass sword as she was sure the one she gave the crawler was gone by now. Lydia would then hand it over to the black bull mage. That's the last one I can make right now so be careful with it that's all the healing I can offer you all right now.

[attr=class, cyrustext]Cyrus and Hama both awaited a response of some sort from Rosalia, and the spirit herself couldn't help but derive some amusement from the obviously shocked reaction of the Black Bulls member after being spoken to. The fact that she was referred to so respectfully also seemed to put her in a good mood, and Cyrus managed a small smirk. Just speaking to her respectfully was a simple but effective way to get on Hama's good side. "So let's get this finished, then!" She said, her partner nodding in agreement.
--
As the party reached the top of the stairs, it was none other than the possessed Dio that awaited them. He thought for a moment that he had heard separate voices speaking as they approached the throne room, but whatever was being discussed was lost to the boy as his eyes fell upon the once great chamber. A glimmer of its doubtless former glory could still be seen; what may have once inspired awe and wonder in the sap wizard now remained to do nothing but remind those who saw it of how far things had gone.
And the body.
Like so many carcasses he had seen in the wilds of the Forsaken Region, it was almost impossible to recognize whatever it might have been before. But somehow, just looking at it from the entryway... he knew what it had to be. And what had reduced it to such a state.
There the Calamity stood before them, an expression on his host's face that spoke volumes of the savagery and horrors that the already twisted body was concealing. In his hand he held a staff the likes of which he had not seen before. The old warrior's words echoed in the sap wizard's mind. He had told them that their foe held a key that was related to the vicious quakes going on.
Cyrus glanced at the others as they prepared for battle, the Calamity promising them a swift end if they handed over the sigil. "You must be pretty fucking stupid if you think we're gonna just do as you say after coming this far!" Hama barked out, glaring at the enemy.
Her partner nodded in silent agreement, having just the same thought. He spoke. "That scepter he's holding... I think it may be the key we were told about." He suggested to the others. He had earlier suggested that they make acquiring the key, whatever it was, a priority. And he intended to maintain that position.
With a short flourish Cyrus flipped his grimoire open to a page he had used not too long ago. "Hydra Hitching!" He called out, and just as had happened before when they first encountered Azygnas, twin tendrils shot towards the possessed knight before each split into two serpents, their fangs all bared as they rushed to bite into and restrain their caster's target.
Not done with just that however, the pages of his tome flipped to one that he had yet to actually use in combat. Two glowing lights emerged from his grimoire, taking on humanoid shapes each. From the glow would emerge different limbs; each bore an ornate hammer and shield, bladed wings, and shining armor as the shine disappeared, revealing two angelic warriors standing 8 meters tall. "Heliades, go!" He commanded vocally, while also including a silent order mentally to try and focus on separating Dio from the scepter. The warriors burst forward, flying through the air towards their foe, weapons ready.
The fight was on.

Attempted to restrain Dio with Hydra Hitching, and ordered two Heliades golems to attack
Name of Spell: Hydra Hitching Elemental Type: Sap Rank & Spell Type: Grand | Restraining Range & Speed: 150m | 75m/s Mana Cost: 50 | 25 Stats Effected: -9 Control, -10 Speed, -20 Mana Regen Applicable Perks: Lockdown Description: On casting this spell, several sap tendrils will form around the user. At the user’s command these tendrils will launch towards their chosen target, splitting into two snake-like heads (reaching a possible combined area of 75 cubic meters) as they travel. Once close enough they will lunge at their target, wrapping around them and biting down. This does no damage, but will form a heavy binding of sap around the victim that reduces their Control stat by 9 points, their speed by 10m/s, and their mana regeneration by 20. Name of Spell: Heliades Spell Element: Sap Spell Rank: Grand Mana Cost: 50 | 25 Type of Golem: Predator Applicable Perks: Puppet Master, Armament Description: Bearing the likeness of winged, armored warriors, the Heliades golem can reach heights of up to 8 meters and carry as many as 5 passengers at their base speed of 36m/s, with a maximum speed of 40 m/s. With their ornate, noble appearance they bring to mind the image of warrior angels or valkyries, flying at high speeds to attack and evade their opponents with the use of their hammer-like weapons and bladed wings. With their creation, Cyrus wanted to create warriors that would give civilians and allies something to look upon with hope, while still imposing to any enemies he may face. Only two may be summoned at once.
Artemis would look towards Dio. The man was different from when they had first met. It was a stark difference, yet Artemis knew that this probably was what had been hiding beneath the surface this whole time. The man must have been corrupted even before they had stepped into the transport, before they had met him in that tavern. The most likely and probable timeline as to when he had been corrupted was during the time that he had been abandoned by his own team. Maybe that had been the reason he had survived? Possibly. The deal with the devil. A man’s instinct for survival made sure that he would do anything, after all. She cannot fault the man for his survival instinct, but she can definitely curse him for not upholding the virtues of a Magic Knight. Dio had become the person he swore to protect the Clover Kingdom from. No better than a mana beast.[break][break]
It was then that Artemis spotted the sceptre. And then the body behind him afterwards. She could only assume that the sceptre was something that Dio had taken from the woman. The body itself was desecrated, mutilated, and had been the product of a corrupted hand. Artemis would weep for the woman, internally, as she sent a small prayer to the Great Spirit Undine for the woman’s soul. Internally, she was a raging sea. Her temper was flaring, yet she calmed herself using the meditation techniques she had been able to learn throughout her time as a Magic Knight, having to squash down her tendency to rush into battle, hoping for that surge of adrenaline. No, she was in control now. [break][break]
Artemis would have her grimoire up. The Sigil that was within her pockets was more prominent now in her mind. It was something that this corrupted Dio had wanted, and she was going to make sure he did not get it. It must be important, after all. Why else would the man want it? [break][break]
“The sigil. You have the other one.” Artemis surmised. “What do you plan to do, hm?” Her grimoire was raised now, mana rolling off as she cast her first spell. “No matter. I made a promise, and I intend to keep it.”[break][break] “Poseidon’s Wrath.”[break][break]
Two waves of water, only seen by Artemis, would be sent towards the man. Dio, if he did not have the proper sensory, would not be able to sense the attack coming. Side by side, the waves would collapse onto the man, making sure to attack the man at the angle that had none of his allies’ spells, and hoping to get a hit in as Artemis readied her second spell.[break][break]
“Scylla.”[break][break]
Two swords manifested in front of her, before with a flick of her finger, the swords were sent straight towards the man. The swords would be tracking the possessed man, homing in on him as the spell was meant to do. Both were also cloaked with an illusion, and would be hard to detect unless the man had the proper sensory. The swords would be behind the curtain of waves, water horses galloping towards the corrupted man. A deceptive tactic to get a hit in, but she hoped it would prove to be devastating for this possessed creature.[break][break]
“Die.” She would whisper, anger slowly burning through the mental barriers she had erected to calm herself. The sight of the desecrated woman. The thought of this man destroying this place, killing innocents without nary a thought. The thought of this Calamity bringing its terrors onto Clover’s shores. None of that can happen. He needed to be stopped.

TL;DR Artemis used Poseidon's Wrath to catch Dio off-guard since it is illusioned and cannot be seen unless Dio has the proper Sensory. Behind Poseidon's Wrath, Artemis used Scylla and had her to swords home in on Dio. The swords are also under an illusion and cannot be seen unless one has enough Sensory.Note: Artemis has Intimidating Aura Perk which causes Dio's stats to be lowered by -5.

Amassing a huge amount of conjured water, the spell itself is a huge tsunami like wave that Artemis can control through her mana. The huge amount of water takes the form of water horses, which visually charges towards Artemis' opponents. The spell itself is coated with an illusion, which masks it from the following senses of her opponents: sight, sound, smell, and mana. At first hit, those hit by Poseidon's Wrath are blinded. The blind effect only happens once per opponent. Artemis is able to create more than one Poseidon's Wrath based on her control, while it follows ammo rule on damage. The swords are very sharp, and are very deadly. Through ammo rules, Artemis usually creates more than one, with the limit based on the amount of control she has. While she can use the swords in a physical fight, she oftentimes manipulates the swords with her mana, using it to fight enemies from afar. If she chooses to, Artemis can make a sword explode in a shower of pin-sized needles, causing an AOE effect. At first hit, opponents are blinded by the water that hits their eyes. The blind effect only happens once per opponent. Scylla is coated with an illusion, making them very hard to see, hear, and smell, and sense with mana. Finally, they are able to home in on their intended target because of the user's Sensory. Those hit by the spell will also have their sensory debuffed, following on debuff rules.[break]
The red-haired beauty was annoyed that the old man didn’t want to give her his name. She was used to edgy teenagers, but edgy old men was a new concept to her. The woman really wanted to just go out there and drag the old warrior back up the staircase with them, but it was too late. The group had made their decision so, with a sigh, Rosalia brought out her grimoire and cast a single “Sheer Cold,” under her breath, giving the man a senior rank shield while dealing senior damage to the enemies in a 40 meter radius around him. It was the least she could do. [break][break] “Every name is important.” She muttered and her eyes would widen as a giant tentacle would smash through the wall and grab the old man she’d just shielded, dragging him down. Fuck. Fuck fuck fuck. Now they really had to get a move on. [break][break]
The witch hurried her heeled steps up behind her party, silently hoping that the grandpa would be okay. [break][break] The room that followed at the top of the staircase made the red-haired beauty gasp. For a second she forgot that they were indeed, trying to survive and even save a dying nation. She just wanted to stand around and stare in awe, memorizing every detail. How had something that old managed to keep all of its majesty…her body froze over, however, when her ruby gaze landed upon Dio. He was already here? Holding a scepter and…was that a corpse? A fresh one… [break][break] Rosalia’s eyes narrowed. He’d killed more already. Lydia was the first to speak up. The voice of the Crimson Lion Vice-Captain echoed through the throne room with such confidence that Rosa had to be reminded that she was indeed in a room full of higher and lesser nobles. She was like a goddess of Justice, one of extreme lawfulness, beyond what Rosalia found herself to represent. The Ravencrest sounded like she’d been ready to act instantly. After casting a flurry of spells, she even handed the red-haired mage a gorgeous glass spear. [break][break] The ice witch was familiar with wielding spears, so this was a pleasant surprise, and she gave it a quick twirl. It was a healing spear which she’d keep for the fight to the best of her ability. The magic that pulsed out of it was more powerful than her own. [break][break] Hama was quick to spout her fury at Dio while Cyrus murmured about his plan to the party. It gave Rosalia a little idea. “I can try swiping it away with my whips. They’re quick and painful to hit with but I can take a few shots at wrapping one around the scepter and pulling it to one of us.” The ice witch muttered as she glanced over at the rest of her party. [break][break] Cyrus and Artemis were quick on Lydia’s heels to jump into combat, so Rosalia, a grin on her pretty glossy lips, was ready to join in. The temperature in the throne room fell as she tapped into her mana once more, making the floor around her feet freeze in a small radius. [break][break] “Frostbite.” She hissed as she transferred the spear to her left hand, while making her first whip appear inside of her right hand. The woman would crack it over the ground of the throne room quickly, getting a feel for its movement once more before whipping it out at Dio’s form. She wasn’t aiming to hurt him, unlike the others, the beauty was only aiming to catch him off-guard enough to have the icy leather wrap around the ancient relic and pull it into her grasp. Hers, or if she at least managed to make him drop it, close enough to any of her allies.

”Good I was afraid you were just going to hand it over without a fight…”The Possessed Dio would say before the swords of light were flung at him. A wave of the scepter and the swords would only hit a barrier before dissipating. ”Fancy toy I found...quite nifty isn’t it...the hag won't be able to use it anymore. Go ahead I am sure it has more uses than just defense.” He followed up as Cyrus, Artemis, and Rosalia all moved to start up their own attacks. Cyrus’s restraining spell went through and the effect was curious as it would seem to work before Dio would just smile. The golem sent by the sap mage, the attacks sent by both the water and icy shadow mage all struck Dio for max damage, but the bastard just laughed as the mortal body that the Calamity inhabited just seemed to crack and twist. Blood poured from the man’s eyes as the scepter glowed menacingly before the sap would explode and the twisted right arm of Dio extended outward and pointed directly at the water mage. ”GIVE IT TO ME!” He yelled as his grimoire glowed a bright white light, the scepter glowed a sinister black. ”Combo Magic, Yin Yang Wave!” He said as he launched an attack, a swirling beam of black and white pure aura magic would shoot forth from the twisted arm aimed directly at Artemis. The 3 meter in diameter beam would be traveling at a speed of 55 m/s and would deal [GRAND RANK] in damage if hit, if it was dodged or deflected the beam would absolutely disrupt and destroy whatever it touched, whether it is the wall leading outside, the floor, someone's chest. There was a look on Dio’s face though as he fired the beam...horror as he knew that he was firing the beam at magic knights...then it melted away to sweet satisfaction as the scepter in his left hand continued to glow...but smoke was coming off of his hand. Was it burning him?
The spells hit, except for Lydia’s initial attack. The possessed Dio seemed to have anticipated this and called upon the Calamity’s power to fight back along with the scepter. Artemis is being targeted by a Grand Rank Spell [Yin Yang Beam]
Artemis watched as Lydia’s attack was blocked by what seemed to be a barrier. It looked as though it was coming from the staff itself. The scepter was definitely not Dio’s, and Artemis assumes that it was wielded by the woman that was mutilated by this creature of a man. Rosalia seemed to have been aiming for the staff itself, yet her attack would hit the man instead. That only told Artemis just how important this item was to the man. Was it what powered him to the extreme at this point? The did it hold the sigil that they needed? The second part that the old man who had used his last strength to buy them time had told them? It was all possible, and Artemis knew what they all must do.[break][break]
Destroy this monstrosity that had taken on Dio’s body, and take the scepter from him.[break][break]
From what Artemis saw, Dio’s blocking of Lydia’s spell must have been because he might have known that she was the strongest, and therefore could not afford to be hit by her stronger spells. This meant that this possessed Dio was a calculative one. Letting her and the rest of the group’s attacks hit him had been a boon for the group, though it only slowed the possessed man down as he now seemed to be blinded by rage.[break][break]
“Never.” Artemis defiantly responded as she stared down the man who was now sending a large beam towards her. There was a moment when she found the man’s face conflicted, but it was gone in a second. The Dio that was human had given control of his body, unchallenged or not. They were facing the Calamity, and she was the target. But that also meant one other thing: Dio was distracted.[break][break]
Artemis’ grimoire was alight. She had done this before, after all. Her combat technique was so she can outlast an opponent at every range, and a long range attack like this was something Artemis was prepared for. With her mana manifesting around her, she called out.[break][break]
“Kraken.”[break][break]
Two of the golems came rushing forth in front of Artemis, one after another, the first one would rush towards the spell, its large body able to take the hit as it took the damage and staggered. Artemis then commanded her second golem to rush at the man. There was no time better to take his attention off of her teammates. While Dio was fixated on her, Lydia, Cyrus, and Rosalia should be aiming to take Dio out as fast as they can. A chance like this was not something to be wasted, after all.[break][break]
“Wrest that sceptre from him, Kraken!” The second Kraken, bypassing the first which was now disintegrating into thin air, rushed towards Dio. Artemis herself would watch, hoping that this would be enough to stop the man, and hopefully recover the item that was now sizzling in his hand. [break][break]
“Aphrodite!”[break][break]
A water-made bow was quickly in her hands. Without hesitation, Artemis shot three arrows made of water up, arcing towards the possessed man. They were homing, and were cloaked with an illusion. She was hoping to injure the man further, and take him out, ensuring the end of this farce.

COMBAT SUMMARY
[attr="class","polluxscroll2"]
TL;DR Artemis used her Kraken spell, conjuring two Grand golems. One will take on the beam's damage, while the other was sent to battle, distract, and wrest the sceptre from the man's hands with its appendages. Artemis also sent three arrows using her Aphrodite bow. The arrows are also under an illusion and cannot be seen unless one has enough Sensory.Note: Artemis has Intimidating Aura Perk which causes Dio's stats to be lowered by -5.
Name of Spell: Kraken[break] Spell Element: Water[break] Spell Rank: Grand [break] Mana Cost: 50 | 25[break] Type of Golem: Guardian[break] Applicable Perks: Reinforced Golem[break] Description: The Kraken is a beast thought to live within the depths of the oceans, which inspired Artemis to name this specific golem in honour of it. The Kraken is never summoned singularly, but always in a group which corresponds to the ammo rule for golems at Grand rank. Draconic in size and features, but with tentacles, it uses its appendages to do untold damage. It takes orders through the mana tether that it has with its caster, which sustains its existence. It can also take verbal commands though it has to be simple. The Kraken also have the ability of flight, with it's wing appendage usually folded for protection, and can be used as transportation which can carry 5 people at the speed of 12m/s. It is 16 meters in size and one of Artemis' most destructive golems.[break]
Name of Spell: Aphrodite[break] Elemental Type: Water[break] Rank & Spell Type: Senior | Attack Creation & Sensory (Illusion)[break] Range & Speed: 80 meters | 50 m/s | 70m AOE[break] Mana Cost: 30 | 15[break] Stats Effected: Power +9, Blinds, -9 Sensory[break] Applicable Perks: Area of Triumph, Battle Knight, Master Illusionist, Quick Shot, Apex Predator[break] Description: Aphrodite is a bow made of Artemis' element, water. When the string is pulled back, an arrow made of water appears and can be shot by Artemis. Through ammo rules, Artemis is able to create more than one arrow at a time per draw and shoot. The Bow itself can be used in a physical fight, though its main use is for ranged combat. The arrows can either pierce an enemy, or it it hits solid materials like ground or walls, it bursts into sharp water needles that hits in an AOE manner. At first hit, opponents are blinded by the water that hits their eyes. The blind effect only happens once per opponent. The arrows, as well, are coated with an illusion, making them very hard to see, hear, and detect with mana, and finally are able to home in on their intended target because of the user's Sensory. Those hit by the spell will also have their sensory debuffed, following on debuff rules.[break]
[attr=class, cyrustext]The party's refusal to simply give up and let themselves be killed did little to incense their opponent; if anything, it actually seemed to make it all the more eager to fight. With all the ease of brushing a fly off one's shoulder, the Possessed Dio managed to casually swat away Lydia's swords of light with the scepter in his hand. The Calamity sang the trinket's praises, remarking how he had taken it from the woman whose desecratedbody the Magic Knights had seen when they first entered the room. To see the attacks of their strongest offensive mage be so thoughtlessly dealt with was discomforting, but it also reinforced the sap wizard's theory that the staff was the key they had been told about. The sigil the old man had given them, and the scepter that was stolen from the woman... Cyrus had his theories on who the man was before, but now he felt almost certain.
Despite the ease with which he had blocked Lydia's attack, the remaining assault by the rest of the group managed to hit their mark. But despite being restrained and damaged, he showed no signs of pain or concern. Instead he simply laughed, as though the very idea of pain was ridiculous, and his host's body continued to crack and deteriorate. As it did, the sap he had sent to restrain him was destroyed, and the inhuman arm of Dio pointed towards Artemis. A spell's name was called as he shot a twisting blast of black and white energy at the wizard of the Green Mantis, who defended herself by summoning two of her Kraken golems; one which took the attack for her and the other charging at the man afterward. From her command, it would seem that she had come to the same conclusion as he and Rosalia. That was good, but it would likely put their opponent more on guard.
Cyrus considered their options. That spell had been fast; far faster than he could move, and beyond even his fastest golem by a wide margin. But from his position, as Dio fired his spell at Artemis, he saw something; the scepter was still glowing, but a thin smoke that seemed to be rising from Dio's hand obscured the light slightly. That was... interesting.
"Hama... did you see that?" He asked his spirit, who nodded. "Yeah. But I was so focused on that exchange that I didn't see when it started. Was it when he cast the spell?"
Cyrus shook his head, unsure either. But come to think of it... if the Calamity could use the scepter to deflect an attack as powerful as Lydia's, why hadn't he used it to stop the rest of their attacks? Was he so confident that theirs wouldn't matter? That seemed plausible... but something seemed off. That first block, and the spell he cast... both had been performed with the scepter.
The Golden Dawn mage adjusted his grip on the sword Lydia had given him, starting to think of a plan of sorts. His Heliades were still okay. Artemis was firing a shot from a bow she summoned with her magic.
"First thing's first... we need protection. Heliades 2!" He muttered to Hama before calling one of his golems. He glanced over, seeing that they were still close to the Black Bulls wizard. "Rosalia," Cyrus said. "I want you to take command of Heliades 2. As protection, mobility assistance, a weapon, however you see fit." The angelic warrior that was nearest the redhead looked at the girl, an almost musical tone coming from it as it acknowledged its new orders.
He twirled the sword in his hand. "I don't think that scepter much likes our friend here." He added. He could feel his mana coming back a bit faster than usual; no doubt thanks to Lydia's spell. And if that was the case, he could be a bit more aggressive.
"Heliades 1, attack again! From above!" At his command, the golem still under his own control rose into the air with its bladed wings, before suddenly descending rapidly in an attempt to smash Dio with its hammer.
"And then...Hydra Hitching!" He cast his restraining spell once more, again releasing the two twin-headed serpents towards the Calamity. It was not a flashy tactic, but he was still feeling out just what their opponent was capable of.
"Hama, let me know if he seems to start burning again." He requested of his partner, wanting to keep his own attention on the spells that would inevitably be flying around. The spirit nodded once more. "Got it! You just focus on keeping us alive!"
Cyrus looked at their allies around the throne room, before again focusing on the Possessed Dio. "Always." He responded in an almost factual tone.

[attr="class","florencetext"] As the light sword got blocked with what seemed to be no problem Lydia would bite her lip. Luckily it seemed that the calamity was only able to block her spell as the other hit what use to be Dio. The vice captain had a good idea at what allowed him to block one of her strongest spell it was of course the scepter or at least she assumed it was. Taking the scepter away from him would hopefully remove the problem and weaken him. Of course it was going to be easier said as if what she was thinking was in fact true he would make sure the four magic knights weren't able to do so. That didn't mean the pink haired mage wasn't going to try. Lydia would hold her hand out causing sword to come back to her hand. She would then use her control to make two more swords of light. [break][break] The vice captain would then launch the first one waiting a few moments before sending the second on aimed at the arm holding the scepter in hopes of taking his arm of. She would then send the third one towards his chest before running towards him. If Lydia manged to get close enough she would then slash at his arm holding the scepter if it was already gone then the attack would be aimed at his neck instead. The pink haired mage would then follow it up with one last spell. Glass Magic: Gáe Buidhe As she cast the spell a spear would form in her free hand it was his signature spell so it and it only would get an extra ten power. The glass mage would then try to stab the spell into his back before moving twenty meters back from him and calling the glass spear back in the off chance it got stuck in his chest if it even hit him.

Rosalia’s eyes widened as what seemed to be…a barrier blocked Lydia’s powerful light spell. It made the beauty bite her bottom lip and glanced over at her ally. She was an incredibly strong mage and this was already of concern. The ice witch narrowed her eyes as he called the desecrated woman behind him a “hag.” Even her much abhorred brothers had managed to teach her some modicum of respect for the elderly. A soft little gasp escaped her glossy lips as Dio took the rest of the attacks head on and even laughed at them. This had to be some kind of horrible joke…right? Her whip’s target to take away the scepter hadn’t worked as he was holding it firmly and instead only served to damage him. Fuck. She had to try again. [break][break] The laugh that Dio released made an unpleasant shiver go down the beauty’s toned body. Then his eyes suddenly filled with blood and it seemed as if he was crying… It was a gruesome sight that she couldn’t look away from. The scepter she was trying to take away reacted to him and glowed with energy that made her toes curl. That couldn’t be good. Whatever was happening there was something no human body could take. Forbidden magic. Ancient magic. [break][break] “Artemis watch out!” Her voice escaped her as the beam of white and black flew towards the water mage with dangerous force. Fortunately she had it all under control. The white-haired Somerset quickly blocked with a golem spell and proceeded to attempt an offense of her own while Cyrus attracted her attention back to him, handing her one of his large sap golems. Of course the first thing that the beauty did was to pet the creature because, while she knew that golems weren’t really sentient, she still had a soft spot for creature-looking uh…creatures. It was a very pretty, golden golem, and she was going to enjoy hugging it and fighting with it. [break][break] “Thank you.” The beauty nodded at Cyrus as she climbed on top of the shoulder of the humanoid spell. In the meantime, out of the corner of her eye she could see Lydia casting her fair share of spells and even getting dangerously close to Dio, immediately attracting Rosalia’s attention. As she watched all of this happen however, a little idea popped in that beautiful and possibly naïve head of hers. [break][break] “Hey… Calamity dickbag!” Her voice rang through the throne room as a large toothy grin (borderline cocky) grin took over her gorgeous features. “You say you’re fucking the most powerful thing in the world or whatever, right?” The ice witch’s grin grew as she spoke, her ruby hues attaining a certain dangerous glint to them. Well, worst case scenario, she died, no biggie. “Then why the fuck are you hiding behind a lowly human body? And one that old, nonetheless?” She was being incredibly petty, and she knew it. [break][break] She twirled her whip and made another attack on him from where she sat atop Cyrus’ golem, to further emphasize her point. “Can’t fight your own battles? Hell, you hide behind a title and don’t even give us your actual name?” Rosalia faked a scoff and rolled her pretty eyes, flipping her grimoire pages over to her chosen spell. “Winter’s Kiss.” She murmured as she breathed out the icy spell back at The Calamity. She just hoped that Dio’s body wouldn’t be destroyed in the process. He was still alive in there. That’s why the beauty was trying to draw out the monster. [break][break] “What sort of Calamity are you if you can’t even do your own dirty work? I’ve met dragons more terrifying than the body you’re inhabiting.” God she prayed she’d catch him off guard to whatever Atlantean gods remained. [break][break]
