A miss...the Yin Yang beam was not an easy trick to pull off, but to not kill its intended target...the Calamity possessed Dio laughed as the next set of combined attacks was not something he could just let hit him, especially the one from the red cloaked mage. With a grimace he saw the Kraken golem that was summoned by the green cloaked mage, the golems summoned by the golden cloaked mage, the whips used to attack him once again from the black cloaked mage, and the insults...it was too bad that those words meant little to him as he felt the life force drain from Dio suddenly, That time already, very well...I will use your body to give me new life. He says as he flashes a sinister smile at the group.
”RUN! GET AS FAR AWAY FROM THIS PLACE AS YOU CAN!” He let out a primal roar, Dio gained control for a moment before a bloody scream echoed, Dio then flung the scepter out at their spells ”A gift, using the very mana and life force of your little knight friend. He would say as the glowing scepter melded into a gray piece of metal and would meet the Kraken and sap golem at the same time as the red cloaked mage stabbed dio through his back and out of his chest. The scepter would then explode in a blinding light before a thunderous crash rocked the throne room.
[This is a twist from my original plot plan to have a bit of fun...Everyone within the throne room (Yes including Dio) must now roll a 1d100. 1-49 your mana shield is destroyed and you receive Intermediate rank damage. 50-100 your mana shield is destroyed and you will receive a fun little lasting wound, a “gift” from me to you. If you have something to hide behind you will receive HALF damage -Zaven]
After the explosion, a very hurt Dio still stands, vomiting blood with a gaping chest wound, looks at you all and smiles. ”Thank ymg' llll na'ah'ehye ya”
Stabbed by Lydia, the possessed Dio tries hard to warn you all, but to no avail, the possession takes hold once more and Dio throws the scepter only for it to overload and explode, sending shards of molten metal and pure aura mana everywhere.
There was only a momentary pause as Artemis found herself finally hitting the man. She had thought that this possessed Magic Knight would retaliate against their spells, but instead, their spells seems to have been able to break through and get close to the man. The problem was that, while the man seemed to have been battered and bruised by their spells, he did not seem to have stopped by their combined effort. Instead, the man looked even more crazed, possibly triggered not only by their combined attacks, but also by Rosalia’s taunts. [break][break]
It was then that the man flung out the staff once more. The staff gave off a wave of power, as Lydia was able to stab the man straight through with her sword. But it was for nought. [break][break]
A wave of power started to build up, and as the man shouted for them to get away, she could only glance towards Lydia, before shouting to Cyrus and Rosalia, “Get behind something!” She had heard earlier that Cyrus had given Rosalia control over one of his golems, which must have still been with her. Artemis had not seen it being sent towards the man, after all.[break][break]
There was not enough time for her to cast a spell. Not enough time for her to find shelter. Artemis could only hold her hand up as a flash, and a wave of energy blasted towards them. She felt her own mana shield break and shatter from the pressure, and her arms sustaining blunt force damage enough to bruise them. The worst was her chest, where she felt a few ribs break from the attack.[break][break]
Artemis herself coughed up blood, but wiped it immediately as she looked towards Lydia. Her partner’s safety was the first thought she had. [break][break]
“Lydia! Are you alright?” Artemis squinted, trying to find the woman in the haze of post-combat. “Lydia!”[break][break]
She found the woman a few ways apart from her. Artemis made a move towards her partner, spell dissipating from her hand, though was stopped when a voice alerted her of their opponent’s presence.[break][break]
It was a different language, something that she could not understand save for the first word. “Thank-?!“ Artemis had wanted to finish off the man that seemed to still be standing, even though he sustained a large gaping hole on his chest, yet she found herself in pain. “Someone...needs to finish this off…” she was able to mutter out to anyone, as she found herself struggling to breathe. But, even though she was injured and slowly recovering her mobility, she could not help but mull over what the man said. Why was the first word "thank" of all things? Was he thanking them for a reason? There was more to this, she was sure of it. It was better to end this now.[break][break]
This attack had been the deadliest she had faced so far in her career as a Magic Knight, and she was paying for her carelessness.

COMBAT SUMMARY
[attr="class","polluxscroll2"]
TL;DR Artemis loses her Mana Skin, and took Intermediate damage to her health. Note: Artemis has Intimidating Aura Perk which causes Dio's stats to be lowered by -5.
[attr=class, cyrustext]Rosalia took Cyrus' offer of command over his Heliades, and seemed to come up with some sort of idea as Lydia charged the Possessed Dio with her sword in hand, simultaneously casting a pair of light blades. Like they and Artemis, she took aim at the scepter in the Calamity's crumbling hand, before attempting to literally stab the poor fool in the back.
In the meantime, Rosalia perched herself atop the shoulder of the armored angel he loaned her, spouting insults their foe's way with a level of vulgarity that stunned the young man to see coming from such a proper seeming lady. It almost reminded him of Hama, in a way.
The spirit herself, for the record, thought the whole display was hilarious.
It was when she taunted him about using the shell of a mortal man to hide behind that Cyrus began to realize what it was she was attempting; she wanted him to release Dio. It was a noble gesture to be sure, and one he would have loved to have worked. But something told him that it wouldn't.
And as it turned out, he was... well, right, but also incorrect. As far as the Calamity was concerned, Dio was nothing but a disposable suit of armor; rags he threw on so he could go out without looking ridiculous. The staff at his side seemed to almost hum with power, and a panicked voice spoke up. It was the Calamity... no. It was Dio himself! Run away?
"EVERYONE LOOK OUT! THE SCEPTER'S GOING CRAZY!!" Hama shouted in warning, barely a moment after the possessed mage got out his own words. Artemis shouted to get behind something, but there was no time! Cyrus did what he could and knelt down low, covering Hama and the blade Lydia had given him with his body and cloak as a the scepter morphed and flew through the air, before a deafening explosion seemed to rock him down to every last cell.
The heat was intense; all over his body, even with his mana skin and Syrup Shroud's protection, he could feel a sensation like tears from the sun itself peppering his back. A wave of pure energy filled the room like a flood bursting through the dam, and it ripped through the Golden Dawn wizard's defenses with all the difficulty of a knife through butter. Pain surged through his body, in particular across the arms he had been holding over his head and his legs. He couldn't tell for sure how bad the damage was; he had never taken a hit like this before in his life.
He prayed that he never would again, but at least had the presence of mind to thank his natural constitution and his defensive measures. Once the worst of the wave had passed, Cyrus slowly stood back up to his full height, legs trembling as he tried to remember which way was up and arm still searing from pain. "Cyrus! Are you okay?!" Hama asked, flying up to float beside him instead of taking her usual seat on his shoulder. The boy nodded after a moment, managing a weak smile in an effort to reassure her. He saw Artemis trying to make her way over to Lydia, and looked to see if he could find Rosalia. He breathed, shakily, trying to calm himself as his training kicked in, his mana skin returning once more. It had taken a heavy hit though; it was only at half strength. "Are you alright Rosalia?!" He asked as his eyes fell on the Black Bulls woman, making his way over to her. He breathed a sigh of relief, glad that he had given her the protection of his golem.
His eyes fell down, onto the sword still clutched in his less pained hand. An experimental flex of his fingers and bend of his arm followed. Didn't seem like anything was broken; he seemed to have a full range of motion, now that he was making an effort. His body was fine; that being the case, he decided to apply Lydia's spell to repair his mana skin further.
It was only at that point, with his defenses at an acceptable level, that he saw the state Dio was in. Blood poured from his mouth and chest, but he maintained that same eerie expression that told him the Calamity was still in control after wresting it away from him when he tried to warn them. He even spoke, what seemed to be a garbled thank you as he grinned.
Never before had Cyrus been so unnerved by a smile.
Artemis recommended that they finish things, but seemed in no shape to do so herself at the moment. And she too seemed disturbed by the creature's words of thanks. But Cyrus was consumed by the word, trying to figure out what they could possibly mean.
"The scepter is gone..." He muttered, looking around for any signs of the scepter that had exploded and caused so much damage. Yet again, the words of the old warrior echoed in his mind. The key held by the Calamity. Keys unlocked things... so what did the key even unlock? Something was nagging at the back of his mind. Like something he was overlooking. Something they had seen... but what?

[attr="class","florencetext"] Lydia would hear the words coming out of the black bulls mouth she honestly was a little surprised to hear the red head speak like that then again she was a bull. However if the plan was to get the calamity to leave Dio's body it didn't seemed to work not that it would have matter anyway. After all the glass mages sword struck true going through Dio's chest most likely taking out his heart which was something no mage could survive. Then again he was no normal mage anymore so perhaps there was hope for him not that Lydia would hold her breath on it. She could of course hear Dio and the others yelling but it didn't matter she was to close to the man to make it to cover as the scepter was thrown and a large blast over took the room. One that the crimson lion mage was the closest to. The force alone knocked her back taking out all of her mana skin but that wasn't the worst of it. [break][break] The pink haired mage could feel the metal shards cutting her skin most minor expect for one that struck her side cutting a four inch deep cut across her left side just above her hip. Her body was screaming in pain but the shock and adrenaline kept her standing. She would put a hand on the cut feeling her warm blood flowing out of it. It had been a long time since the light speed paradox had seen her own blood let alone as much of it that was pouring out. She would just stand there in a daze looking at her left side which now had exposed muscle. Everything was drowned out. It was then she would hear a voice in her mind but it wasn't her own. "Lydia you have to snap out of it. Lydia you need to get yourself together or the others are going to die!" [break][break] The voice sounded familiar but it couldn't be he was dead. She would then snap out of her daze as she heard her partner calling out to her. The vice captain would put her freed hand on her side to stop the blood flow before looking around nearly all there spells were gone the only was of Lydia she could feel of her was the speed buff and her healing spell. She would then look at the water mage with her gone good eye. She wasn't blind in the other she simply had a cut just above it that was flowing down her face making that eye useless for now. I wouldn't say I'm fine I have a pretty deep cut on my left side but I'll live. She would then hold her healing spell tightly in her right hand letting it heal her mana skin first as she need it more right now and could at least another hour with the cut on her side still being open. [break][break] The glass mage would try and use her control to make two more glass swords for a total of five however even trying to push past her limits the glass mage was unable to make even one more. The vice captain would then start to slowly make her way over to Artemis. Once she got to the other woman she would put a arm around the water mage to help herself stay standing before handing the glass sword to the green mantis mage. We'll have to share it but take this for now I've already healed myself. Lydia would then turn and face the corrupted Dio before casting a spell. Light Magic: Balmung Once the light sword appeared the crimson lion vice captain would launch the sword at Dio aiming to take of his head killing both him and the calamity.

Rosalia huffed and blew a strand of loose hair out of her face. Dio’s voice sounded through, a pained scream telling them to get away, and the tiniest amount of hope lit up her face. There he was! He was alive! They just had to keep him alive. The Calamity seemed not to want to give them that chance as it said it would use the Purple Orca’s body and life force for whatever reason. [break][break] The scepter that he held…the Golden Dawn mage warned them all with a shout…something seemed to have gone wrong with it as it was flung, and the beauty only had a split second to hide behind Cyrus’ armory sap boyo before a large explosion thundered through the room. Rosalia felt her mana skin crumble to dust and she huffed as she took the damage. Fuck. Once she looked back up, the sap golem was gone, and their whole party seemed incredibly vulnerable to attacks. Lydia was hit the worst, and she cocked an eyebrow as Artemis was instantly distracted by that. Ah nobles… the dramatics, in the mind of commoner who’d lost many in the Diamond War, could wait for afterwards. But the pink-haired Vice Captain had been knocked out, and a large gash had appeared into her side. She was losing blood…Fortunately she came to.
The witch bit her bottom sight at Dio, only able to catch the first two words that were spoken as “Thank you.” He wasn’t just injured, he was dying. Rosalia blinked however when the blond sap mage from their party moved over to check if she was okay. Ahhhhh nobles and their dramatics.
[break][break] “Thanks to your golden sappy boy, I’m in alright condition.” The gave him a little ferocious grin and a wink. She was sure she had popped blood vessels here and there, but there was no need for the rest of the party to know that. Everyone was troubled enough anyways and the battle was the priority. Having no-one from her party die and keeping Dio alive was her priority now. Her grimoire turned its pages as she gripped the weapon Lydia had given her. Her first instinct was to try and defend her allies, but it was clear that her magic wouldn’t be strong enough to hold out against blasts of such a caliber.
[break][break] Rosalia’s eyes widened when Lydia’s next attack was straight for the head. “Lydia wai-“ That was too late. There was no way the woman would be able to stop her ally. For once, the ice witch paled. No…she wanted so desperately to find a way to get all of them out safely. And that door might have just fucking closed.
Mana Conservationist: You will be able to use spells with less mana than others when it comes to casting spells! Each rank of spell will have its spell cost go down by the following amounts, please remember that this is based on the rank of the spell not the character! [Juniors]: 2 | [Intermediate]: 4 | [Senior]: 6 | [Grand]: 10 | [Archmage]: 16
Perfect Buff: Those with this perk may now cause their magical stat boost buffs to buff at a rank above their own when buffing allies only. For Archmage spells this will give +3 to the total of the buff. This cannot affect Physical Buffs in any way, even if used in dual spec.

Description: Rosalia pours mana into her grimoire, summoning forth a whip of flexible black ice, called Frostbite.  The whip deals senior damage to an enemy, buffing the caster's Power by +9 upon usage. If the whip is picked up by an ally, they obtain a buff of +12 Power.[break]

Dio’s life force was but a sliver...the Calamity had seen to it that the Purple Orca’s body was put to good use. The little outburst from earlier was all the entity needed, it felt the beings around it still alive and though a bit angry, it was also grateful...they brought the sigil...the other one was above them in the secret control room that locked him away in this prison for so long...though a hole now resided there...he would let them have their moment...it was needed to taste the absolute despair that was to come. When they began to regroup and the red mage attacked for the last time, a small smile appeared before the cracked and twisted arm reached up and caught the attack. ”naughty naughty…” the words rang out true in common as the spell of light was seemingly swallowed by the aura. Then the “Calamity” separated from Dio’s body, absorbing the fallen queen’s remains before sitting on the throne was a ghastly visage. Dressed in a pale yellow cloak and a yellowed bone mask, its body a disheveled, malnourished, dried husk of a corpse that it twisted, and behind it a mass of tentacles that seemed to grow as the shards of the scepter began to move towards the new enemy in the throne. Though incorporeal it stared at Rosalia, then to Dio as its intentions were clear.
Dio would cough as blood sprang from his mouth as he looked at the being now on the throne...he realized what had happened as he looked down at the hole in his chest. ”Hurry knights...to me...if you want to live…”
The Calamity has separated from Dio, leaving the Purple Orca to die slowly, but the new enemy in yellow seems to watch the group closely..Especially Rosalia and Lydia. Then the words of Dio ring out, will the group trust this man...or leave him to die without knowing what his last request is.
Artemis saw the injury that her lover had. She had winced, internally, yet did not say another word. How could she? They were in the heat of battle, and any type of sympathy now was just a distraction. Dio, the possessed, carried with him a power that could take them out of the fight in one hit. He was not to be underestimated, nor should he be trusted now. The Calamity resided within him, rooted into his soul, thus possessing his body and his mind. It even took his Grimoire, which was the most concerning for Artemis. That kind of magic was not something to be taken lightly. No. They had to use every single advantage they had, and end this fight before this Calamity is able to take on another vessel. [break][break]
There was an assumption that possession by an entity was both a boon and a curse. It gave an entity, spiritual in all words, a body. However, it also made them vulnerable to physical damage. Artemis was hoping Lydia had made the same assumption.[break][break]
She was rewarded by Lydia sending an attack, yet, it was blocked once more. Inhumane. Vile. Corrupted. The possessed Dio encompassed all those words as he reeked of mana that was foul to the sense. For some reason, however, the Rosalia had to urge to try and stop their attack. Of course, it did not do them much good, since the attack had been blocked. But that hesitation would be seared into the Green Mantis’ memory, her glistening blue irises finding the Black Bulls Magic Knight with a glance. [break][break]
“This is no time for hesitation! Are your loyalties so misguided that you choose this possessed man over your fellow Magic Knights’ who are fighting for their lives?” She would ask with an indifferent tone. [break][break]
But, it was then that she felt something in the air. It shifted. The mana around the room, vile and putrid, started to shift away from the possessed Dio. It left the dying man’s body, before making its way towards the dead woman’s and turning into something else. Their chance, at least Artemis perceived it to have been, to have destroyed the Calamity while it had been within a weakened host had failed. Artemis found herself gripping the sword that Lydia had handed to her, hand over the handle. [break][break]
“Stronger. It has left the host for a new one…” Artemis cursed, trying to help Lydia while she tended to her wound. “This is beyond what we can handle, for now.” She would say, turning towards the dead heap that was Dio. Artemis felt the corrupted mana that had been around Dio to be gone now. Instead, all it left was a man who had once been honourable in life. The man would talk to them, tell them to come to him as he lay dying. With their weakened state, Artemis found herself seeing no other choice.[break][break]
“The Calamity is gone from him, the putrid mana does not surround him anymore.” She would turn to the group. “If there is a person who could help us now, it is the man who had once given his body for the creature’s service.” Artemis then turned to Lydia, “If need be, I shall go first. At this twilight hour, we cannot afford to turn away any help rendered.”[break][break]
The group need not join, but Artemis would make her way towards Dio, having seen and felt the mana shift away from the man. She would offer the sword back to Lydia, if she took it, then Artemis would move forward without a weapon. If she did not take the sword, then Artemis would hold it to her side, at the ready for any sort of attack.

COMBAT SUMMARY
[attr="class","polluxscroll2"]
TL;DRNote: Artemis has Intimidating Aura Perk which causes Dio's stats to be lowered by -5.
[attr="class","florencetext"] As Lydia threw her light sword it seemed that the black bull mage wanted her to wait. Not that it matter as she had already launched the swords towards the corrupt Dio nor would she have stopped if she hadn't already. She would start to speak to the ice mage without turning around. Wait for what it to use another attack like the last one? I don't know why you want me to wait but don't think for a second I'm going to just stop attacking the enemy in front of us because that's what he is now it doesn't matter if he took over the body of a fellow knight. This thing is a threat to the us and the whole kingdom it's our job as magic knights to protect the kingdom from threats like this one or did you just forget that part. Artemis would also speak her won words towards the red haired mage but at the end of the day it didn't matter as her spell was once again stopped by this monster who would then speak to her. [break][break] The crimson lion knight would say anything she would just stare back at whatever this thing was. It seemed the calamity no longer needed Dio's body and would leave it and took over what looked to be the queens dead body before taking a seat on the throne. There was no denying what the water mage said this thing was to strong for the four of them to handle at the moment after all it managed to take out one of Lydia's strongest spells with what seemed to be no problem at all. It was then that Dio spoke up telling them to hurry to them if they wanted to live. The vice captain wasn't sure how much they could trust him but what other choice did they really have? As the green mantis mage offered the sword back to Lydia the pink haired mage would take a hold of the handle allowing it to heal her. It managed to close every wound without leaving a scar expect for the one on her side that for some reason didn't seem to heal normally instead leaving a scar she was unable to get rip of. [break][break] The crimson lion mage would then join Arty next to Dio. Assuming the other joined them Lydia would speak up. Rosalia if you don't need the healing spell at the moment give it to Artemis as she still needs some healing. The pink haired mage couldn't tell how bad the other women needed healing but they were around the same power which meant they most likely had the same amount of mana skin and Lydia's wasn't fully healed so she assumed it was the same for Artemis and they needed to keep her safe after all she had the sigil.

[attr=class, cyrustext]Cyrus let out a heavy sigh of relief when Rosalia assured him that she was okay after the explosion went off, glad to see that he made a good decision in placing his Heliades golem under her control. He mentally thanked the armored warrior, before turning his attention to the others.
It seemed that in the brief moments before the staff detonated, Rosalia had attempted to get Lydia to not go through with her attack. Artemis and the Crimson Lion mage both admonished her for showing sympathy to what they considered an enemy, and he felt there was merit in both sides of the situation. If there was an opportunity, he would have liked to save Dio. But if there was any lesson that Pesha had drilled into him during their days together, it was that potential threats should be dealt with as soon as possible. In that respect, he agreed with the pragmatism that Lady Ravencrest showed.
Still...
"Don't you guys think there are more important things to worry about at the moment?!" Hama shouted at the three, unable to believe they would be in any sort of argument under the current circumstances. Though the fact that they had the energy to spat like this was encouraging in its own way; there was still some fight in all of them. And at the sight of the twisted form their foe now took, it was impossible for him to disagree with her. "Rosalia... I understand why you're upset. Believe me, I do. I would love nothing more than to free and save Dio. But Dio isn't the only life that's at stake here. Think about all the people of Atlantis who have been suffering. How many have died just on this day? It pains me to say, but no one life is worth that of an entire people."
Was it fear that he was feeling? After surviving the scepter's explosion, it seemed almost absurd to think that he could find something more frightening so soon after. But as he gazed at the withered husk, the bone mask, and the tattered yellow rags that concealed horrors he could only imagine, fear seemed to be the only appropriate descriptor. With but a single utterance from the nightmare before them, Cyrus felt his blood run cold. But he stood strong, unwilling to give their enemy the satisfaction of seeing the turmoil he felt.
It was then that Dio spoke, begging the party to approach him as he lay there, likely in his final moments. Aretmis said that she felt none of the Calamity's influence over the man anymore, and they really didn't have any better options at the moment than to listen to what he had to say. He joined the others at the fallen Purple Orca, taking a position between they and the ghastly king on the throne. Just as he had when they spoke to the old man, he kept his eyes on the entity. Cyrus raised Lydia's sword to his own arm, applying it's magic once more to bring his mana skin back to its maximum strength. He held his hand over his grimoire, once more casting his Syrup Shroud spell over the party. If it had helped in shielding them from the explosion before, he didn't know. But after such a display and seeing how casually the Calamity brushed aside Lydia's mighty spell, he figured that any additional defense was worth the effort. And he didn't like that they were all huddling together like this.
As Cyrus eyed the horror, Hama flew down beside Dio, arms crossed as she looked down at the man. "Best get to talking!" She urged the Magic Knight, an urgent tone to her voice. "That thing doesn't seem the type to play nice!"

[attr="class, cyrusstats] Combat Notes Used Lydia's spell to heal mana skin to full, cast Syrup Shroud on party again
Description: By casting this spell, Cyrus summons a mass of sap that quickly takes on the shape of a castle wall before hardening into a shifting amber-colored aura around Cyrus or his allies, defending them from enemy attacks. On casting, this spell will provide Cyrus with a +9 Durability buff. This defense can fully restore its lost health so long as it is not entirely destroyed, up to three times per casting. Sufficient Control will also allow him to create multiple barriers for different targets.
Rosalia’s ruby eyes widened as Dio’s arm twisted around and caught Lydia’s blade. Her ruby hues met Artemis’ with the raise of an eyebrow. She called her loyalties misguided? Truly...nobles and their dramatics. A little smile came over her lips but the witch would ignore the comment, as she found that now wasn’t the time to have such conversations. Her alignment was to the Kingdom. All of the Kingdom…this included Dio. And perhaps her methods were less than traditional, but in actuality, she wasn’t the type to give up on saving a life until it was no more. It also seemed the Lydia didn’t agree with her decision either, and made a point that … well, Rosalia found to agree with to an extent. She wouldn’t find the need to respond to it either, but rather nod, agreeing gently. It’s our job as magic knights to save as many as possible Lydia, or did you forget? She kept her opinion to herself. Her ice affinity lowered the level of her obvious annoyance down and froze it over. But the shadows…they gripped at her ankles and wanted to play. [break][break] The sound of cracking bones was sickening. And then she watched as a large black mass moved away from Dio, seemingly leaving him to his wounds to die as it moved to…the already dead corpse of the old woman? No fucking way. Its body turned bulbous as it moved with ease before taking on a form of something she’d never seen before. Its face covered by a mask, the Calamity looked more dangerous than ever before. It was a horrible being, one only the worst nightmares to replicate. And yet, Rosalia was curious about it. Had it not been evil, she’d have loved to get to know it. [break][break] The beauty’s initial reaction was to run over to Dio, as soon as his words snapped her out of her little trance of confusion and fear. She handed him the spear Lydia had passed over to her, hoping and praying that it would be able to repair him…save him even. But then the pink-haired mage would comment at the beauty to hand it to Artemis. The Black Bull looked at the Vice-Captain of the Crimson Lions through hooded eyelids. My god. She was certain the pink-haired lady could certainly make more, but the request was to hand over the one she’d given over to her? Rosalia tore it away from the black-haired male and stabbed it in the ground in front of Artemis. She really had no words for these women. [break][break]
The beauty let her clear anger at the pair freeze over and fall deep beneath the surface once more. She took a deep, calm breath. Her quirk had saved her once more and had helped her keep herself in check. Oh lord even Cyrus had turned to try and reason with her. She turned to meet his eyes and gave him a calm smile. [break][break]
“I understand.” [break][break]
That was a fact. Simple, short, straight to the point. She understood all of their points. The commoner just looked at the world very very differently. For once the ex-model found the whole situation amusing. She pushed a strand of loose crimson hair behind her ear, chuckling at Hama trying to interrogate Dio. [break][break]
“I think you might wanna fix him first. Having a hole through his chest doesn’t make for good conversation.” [break][break]
There was a little bit of snark there. She had to fit the shitty status quo? So be it. These nobles wanted her to follow? So she would. The ice witch mentally rolled her eyes at this whole scenario that had just unfolded. And she thought the nobles in the knights were different. But no, they really were all the same. [break][break]
“Well, shall we?” The workaholic in her just wanted to get this done now. She cracked her whip, taking a strike at the creature on the throne, trying to see how it would deal with it. Her hand was already on her other whip. “Essence of Winter.” The witch would mutter under her breath, giving Lydia, Artemis and Cyrus each a an intermediate shield, letting her icy dark mana playfully roam around their features, ready to strike out at the enemy if it neared them. [break][break]

Dio watched and listened as they all approached in their own time and continued to talk about the Calamity and Dio’s disposition. When they all gathered he looked at Rosalia first. ”Don...don’t worry about me. Besides the Crimson Lion is right...I betrayed the kingdom to survive. I too was played for a fool...Let this be my last piece of redemption...before it awakens fully.” Dio said before his grimoire glowed. ”Pure Aura, unseen servant!” He said weakly as he outstretched his arm and the group would rise up into the control room above the room. When they had stepped out of the hole and onto solid flooring the spell ended as the Calamity awoke with a deadly screech. Dio looked up at the group and smiled before a tentacle wrapped around his neck and he was drug away where the group would not be able to see what happened to him.
The room was a giant control panel, something unlike anything else in the world. Ancient runic language was written everywhere, stones glowing and lighting up a smooth panel. An identical sigil was placed on the left of where they were in a pedestal...the right pedestal had a series of grooves which looked just right for the sigil that Artemis already had. They just needed to follow the instructions given earlier by that old man. The instructions were as follows:
A full turn with both keys, finishing in the exact spot they started raises Atlantis. A half turn, ending with the heads of the king and queen facing upside down will initiate a fail-safe protocol. It will release the spirit of water. A quarter turn to the left will cause the blazing crystals around Atlantis to explode, destroying the city, burying whatever is left...maybe releasing more. The player’s fate is ambiguous but they will survive and escape Atlantis in time, but the Water Grand Magic Zone will be destroyed. Finally a quarter turn to the right will activate a magic array that is linked to the water temple base level. It will teleport the party back, but they will have no way to go back to Atlantis.
With the last bit of his strength Dio cast a spell which raised the group up into the control room for Atlantis, it looked complicated and dangerous at first glance, but with Dio’s body being taken and the Calamity haven already woken up...there was no longer time to debate. The group needed to decide now...raise Atlantis, or destroy it along with the Calamity.
Artemis grabbed onto the sword that was stabbed onto the floor of the throne room. The woman who had done it seemed to harbor some sort of negative emotion, at least she seemed to be in Artemis’ eyes. The act of stabbing the sword on the ground, instead of handing it hilt-first was quite unusual to the woman, though she mentally shrugged it away. There was no place for idle emotion during combat situations, and while she herself had lapsed for a moment, having gone to Lydia on sheer instinct, she squashed it down in response. Emotions had no place in the middle of a battle, and he steeled herself, opting to instead listen to the man now as he made his final speech, with Lydia’s sword slowly healing her.[break][break]
A desperate deal. A betrayal. Artemis found herself shaking her head as she listened. So their theory had been proven correct. The story of the man having been left behind, and emerging alive had been dubious to begin with. This admission finally placed all of the puzzle pieces into place. This Calamity had used Dio’s desperation, his survival instinct, to its own advantage. Though Artemis would understand the reasoning of wanting to stay alive, the price of making a deal with something so corrupt and vile was inexcusable. Putting the Clover Kingdom in danger by releasing such a monster was unbecoming of a Magic Knight. [break][break]
A redemption.[break][break]
Artemis understood the man’s need, or more so want, for redemption. In his last act, he cast a spell that would propel the group upwards towards the ceiling that had been ripped open. Inside, as they landed in a soft thud, Artemis found herself face to face with what seemed to be a control room. One side had a panel with glowing stones and flashing lights emanating from it. Ancient runic markings could be seen throughout the walls, covering the whole room. [break][break]
It was then that something caught her eye.[break][break]
“Is that…” Artemis walked closer to the panel, only to realize that it held the other Sigil that the old man had told them about. She gingerly reached the other Sigil within her pocket, and pulled it out. Lifting it up, she studied the markings and its intricacies. It looked almost the same, yet different in some way. She looked towards the panel once more, and found the other pedestal to the right. It had grooves, where the other pedestal held the Sigil’s partner. It could only mean that this was what the old man had been talking about. The way to not only release Undine, the Water Spirit, but also to raise Atlantis and give its people a new chance at life.[break][break]
Artemis pressed the Sigil she had into the grooves of the pedestal. It clicked. Then, she recounted the first instruction she got from the old man.[break][break]
“A half turn, ending with the heads of the king and queen facing upside down will initiate a fail-safe protocol, the Great Spirit Undine.” Artemis whispered to herself, before holding onto both Sigils. With a simultaneous turn, both Sigils would finish at the exact same spot upside down, a half turn.[break][break]
It was then that Artemis felt a shift in the surroundings. The water vapours surrounding them, being underwater, vibrated to life. She would back away from the console in favour of looking towards the direction of where she felt the disturbance emanating from.[break][break]
“The Great Spirit Undine…” She would whisper. Artemis had only hoped that the old man had not been lying, that the fail-safe was Undine all this time. With the Great Spirit’s help, this fight would surely turn towards their favour. “Lydia, would you continue…” Artemis gestured towards the console. “To raise Atlantis, and to fulfill our promise to the Atlanteans…” She continued, before holding the glass sword up and towards the hole. [break][break]
“We should do it now, raise Atlantis and then deal with this Calamity! Hopefully, we truly released Lady Undine, and she might be able to help us in our time of need. For her people, and for the innocent lives lost; our cause is just.” She nodded. With her grimoire, she summoned her two other swords, with both floating beside her, ready to fight the Calamity if it ever decided to follow them.

COMBAT SUMMARY
[attr="class","polluxscroll2"]
TL;DR Artemis released Undine, and left the raising for Atlantis to Lydia as she prepared to fight the Calamity if it followed them. Note: Artemis has Intimidating Aura Perk which causes Dio's stats to be lowered by -5.
Name of Spell: Scylla[break] Elemental Type: Water[break] Rank & Spell Type: Grand | Attack Creation & Sensory (Illusion)[break] Range & Speed: 150 meters | 85 m/s | 110 m AOE[break] Mana Cost: 50 | 25[break] Stats Effected: Power +12, Blinds, -12 Sensory[break] Applicable Perks: Area of Triumph, Battle Knight, Master Illusionist, Quick Shot, Apex Predator[break] Description: Scylla is a spell that conjures and manipulates water, turning them into swords that surround Artemis. The swords are very sharp, and are very deadly. Through ammo rules, Artemis usually creates more than one, with the limit based on the amount of control she has. While she can use the swords in a physical fight, she oftentimes manipulates the swords with her mana, using it to fight enemies from afar. If she chooses to, Artemis can make a sword explode in a shower of pin-sized needles, causing an AOE effect. At first hit, opponents are blinded by the water that hits their eyes. The blind effect only happens once per opponent. Scylla is coated with an illusion, making them very hard to see, hear, and smell, and sense with mana. Finally, they are able to home in on their intended target because of the user's Sensory. Those hit by the spell will also have their sensory debuffed, following on debuff rules.[break]
[attr="class","florencetext"] Lydia would watch as Rosa first handed the sword to the dying Dio more than likely to try and save the mans life. However when the vice captain ask the black bull mage to hand the sword to Artemis it seemed that they were annoyed by who Lydia chose to heal. Which in turn pissed of the glass mage as once again they were picking the life of someone who might have betrayed the kingdom over there own teammate. Lydia of course would let it show instead she would speak in a emotionless tone. I can't fix the hole in his chest even with healing magic as strong as mine it has limits and fixing a heart fast enough to save him is something I can't do with this spell. It seemed the dying man would also confirm that it was to late to save him as well as telling the four magic knights he had in fact betrayed the kingdom. While the pink haired mage understood why the man did it after all it was to save himself it wasn't something she could nor would forgive him for. [break][break] Dio did however use his last moments of life to try and fix some of his wrongs which was something Lydia could respect. As they entered the new room above them the vice captain would look around for a few moments before focusing her gaze on the panel in the room which had a sigil almost the same as the one the king gave to them. She would think back on the words the old man told them which was how to use this panel. Freeing the water spirit was a no brainier to the light mage and she hoped the others thought the same way. As the water mage was freeing Undine Lydia would start to think about the other options in regards to the city. The option to just vanish from the city was one the glass mage had already ruled out after all there was a high chance that the calamity would find a way to escape. Destroying the city meant they could kill the creature but they could also die as well and there was no way of knowing it would kill the creature so Lydia felt it was to risky as well. [break][break] The final option was to raise the city which was risky as well seeing as if they failed the calamity would be freed but if they managed to win and free the Atlanteans which they could then make an alliance which would help clover. It seemed Artemis had come to the conclusion that raising the city was also the best bet. The vice captain would then walk up to the panel turning both keys fully until they finished in the same spot raising the city and keeping the promise they made to the Atlanteans. It's done all that's left now is to finish this battle.

[attr=class, cyrustext]Cyrus met Rosalia's eyes when she smiled at him, a calm expression on his own face. The fact that her tone had changed so suddenly would have almost been unsettling, were it not for the far more unsettling presence before the party of knights. Had they the time, he wished they could talk more about the decisions being made; from what he had seen thus far, they shared a certain fascination with the magic and culture of this foreign world.
But now was not the time to talk. Now was the time to listen, as Dio reassured the Black Bulls witch not to worry about him and admitting to his prior betrayal of the kingdom. For some reason, the declaration did not fill the young man with rage or bitterness; rather, he felt a distantly familiar sense of sadness. As though he could almost relate, though how so he had no clue.
Yet another thing to ponder later though, as the dying Purple Orca cast a final spell to transport the crew to a separate room seemingly overhead where they previously had been. Cyrus watched with disgust-filled horror as a tendril of the Calamity gave chase, grabbing the man who had brought them to Atlantis off to what the young man could only assume was his doom. Despite his betrayal, Dio had tried to make up for it in the end. "Should a man be condemned for a single choice, among a lifetime of many?" He pondered out loud; while he knew little at all of the man, he believed in seeing the best in people.
The marvels of the mysterious control room worked decently well in getting his mind off of the other man's fate, as did Artemis and Lydia reciting the instructions they had been given by the old warrior below. Sure enough, there was a similar sigil to the one Artemis had been given. It seemed the decision was unanimous, to raise Atlantis and release Undine. Hama stared at the panel as the Crimson Lion mage turned the sigils. "One of the great spirits..." She muttered, crossing her arms and furrowing her eyebrows. She hated having to rely on one of the main spirits, but she wasn't so prideful that she would choose death over their help. Cyrus glanced at her, and then back to to the panel as their choice took effect.
"Assuming this ends favorably, it won't be the end." He noted out loud to the others after Lydia declared it was time to finish their fight, preparing himself mentally as he healed up the last of the damage done to him with her spell. "The world these people will face above the sea is unlike anything most of them have probably ever seen."
He then summoned a pair of his Heliades, focusing his senses as a new duo of armored angels emerged from the light of his grimoire. "We need to be ready to offer any help that we can to these people. They'll be moving from one brand of chaos right to another." Was it the right thing to do, raising Atlantis? He felt as though they didn't have the right to make the decision for the citizens of the underwater city. But the old man who had told them of how to do so... he had done it for a reason. And if his theory regarding the man's identity was correct, than perhaps it was in his right to choose it.
Regardless of if it was right or wrong, though, Cyrus was certain of one thing; it was their responsibility to see the people of Atlantis through this; it was the least they could do.

[attr="class, cyrusstats] Combat Notes Healed self back to full with Lydia's spell
Name of Spell: Heliades Spell Element: Sap Spell Rank: Grand Mana Cost: 50 | 25 Type of Golem: Predator Applicable Perks: Puppet Master, Armament Description: Bearing the likeness of winged, armored warriors, the Heliades golem can reach heights of up to 8 meters and carry as many as 5 passengers at their base speed of 36m/s, with a maximum speed of 40 m/s. With their ornate, noble appearance they bring to mind the image of warrior angels or valkyries, flying at high speeds to attack and evade their opponents with the use of their hammer-like weapons and bladed wings. With their creation, Cyrus wanted to create warriors that would give civilians and allies something to look upon with hope, while still imposing to any enemies he may face. Only two may be summoned at once.
Rosalia was surprised when Dio turned to speak to her. Lydia had been correct about the man’s betrayal and…it was unfortunate. The beauty was disappointed, but decided to dwell on it later. She also listened to Lydia explain the inability of her spell to heal the man. At the very least the male was looking for redemption. [break][break] “Unfortunately, in this world it seems that’s how it is…” The ice witch would respond to Cyrus’ pondering on the meaning of choices and how they affected a person. She too strongly disliked the way society worked, and the way most people judged others by prioritizing one mistake over everything else done in their life. [break][break] As a person, Rosalia didn’t know how to feel about this whole situation, her emotions were scuffed anyways because of her affinity. Her skin was near ice cold to the touch, and she decided to simply focus on the task at hand. [break][break] Dio’s magic raised them up suddenly, above ground as the screech of the calamity filled the room. That was the last they’d seen of the man. The room surrounding the group, however, was breathtaking. So many runes, so much ancient lore and stories could be derived from the way this place was structured if they’d only had the chance to do so. While she was distracted by the place, Artemis had approached what seemed to be a control panel. At the click of the keys the red-haired female’s head snapped in the direction of Artemis, and she watched her turn the keys halfway…releasing the spirit of water. A fail-safe protocol. [break][break] The ice witch exhaled and thanked Azordesmon when Artemis made it clear that she also had the intention of raising the city, for all to see. Lydia would be in charge of doing so. She nodded at the Green Mantis’ speech and stretch a little as the Crimson Lions’ Vice-Captain raised the city. Cyrus would voice his opinions on how to take care of the people who came up and Rosa would nod. Smart boy.
