[attr=id,pryHEAD] Backstory
[break]
Spring and summer have come and gone, the weather has started to be come cooler and the evenings come a lot quicker than they once did. Just looking around the normal lush area of Hage village and surrounding areas it is easy to see that winter is quickly approaching as farmers have started to bring in the harvest, trees once green leaves have started to turn red and amber. Before the first leaves fall a tradition from long ago has to take place. The spirit festival. No one is quite sure on how, when or why this tradition started, depending on who you ask will really depend on the answer you get and if you ask more than one person you could gain contradicting stories leaving a person to make up their own mind. [break][break] The most common reasoning was that due to the veil of the living and the dead being so thin things that shouldn't be in the world seemed to have been able to cross over. They envied what they couldn't have or no longer possessed and so started causing trouble for those around them. The Captain of the Green Mantis wanted to protect the people of their home from the mischief and threats of these beings and so held a festival filled with food, music and games one year. In this festival everyone was told to dress in costumes so no one would know living from spirit and that they could play harmless tricks, play games, dance, sing, eat and be merry. Children and teens could even go gathering treats from stalls and houses if they so desired. There was worry about cost but the captain said that he would cover everything and not to worry. [break][break] The first festival was hit and miss but as the years went on it seemed to get better, those who went a little too far were warned and those who did go too far got arrested. Yes, it was a festival and yes the Green Mantis were also there to enjoy themselves but they understood they also had a duty to the people of Hage and so were aware of things going on around them. Now, it is a tradition the Green Mantis have and something that the people do in the hopes to spend time with their loved ones, whether they are alive or dead.

[attr=id,pryHEAD] Barron's Greeting
[break]
A maniacal laughter emitted from the devilish grin that Hannibal Barron was now sporting. [break][break] "The veil between the spirit world and our world is so thin. You can smell the death on the air. Hmm. There is a serenity in death, isn't there? [break][break] We've held this tradition for years now and it has been a smashing success! Haha! [break][break] Welcome everyone, to our Spirit Festival. Once again we gather here when our two worlds are one. I have protected this town for so long now. I am counting on all of you to do your best out there. Enjoy yourselves. I'm especially expecting big things from my squad. You better show out today! [break][break] Citizens of Clover, enjoy this festival. Dance with the dead in the glorious moonlight. Knights, you know your duty. [break][break] I expect nothing less than perfection this year and I am sure you will deliver. So good luck to you all. Perhaps you will find yourself reunited with a loved one. Over the years I have seen many of my friends. Whether that is the spirit world or my own brain I'll never know! Haha! [break][break] Now go friends! Go with the wind! There be spirits out here after all. Let them guide you.

Sumire stepped out of the carriage with her various siblings and escort Shi. She didn't decide to dress in much as she had no reason to show off as she originally didn't plan to come out tonight, there was too much going on as she had just finished the Ravencrest order and wanted to relax, however her siblings did not wish to allow her to relax as she chose to wear a white kosode with a scarlet hakama. Her blonde hair held in it's usual style with her Relic holding it form. She found it comforting each time she wore it. She knew where her heart belong and it was with the one who gave her the relic. She knew what it could do, which in her mind it was comforting and safe.
[break][break] She counted the various heads of her family members. " That is everyone. Shi I will be leaving them in your hands. I have a few things I need to tend to later but when everyone is done, do take them home without me if you need to. Ensuring they all make it home is what is wanted." she said as shi nodded leading the kids away as she sighed looking around the festival. So many faces and so many masks and hoods, maybe she was paranoid of the silence but she wasn't trusting of much of anyone after the dungeons and dealing with taiyo and escaping his estate.
[break][break] Focus Sumire...Your safe here, everyone is safe here. She reassured herself walking into the festival to see what the Barron had in store for this year. She had a plan to meet shi and her siblings at the trick or treat area in a few hours.
A first this item may seem like a simple thin, yet large golden ring that could be used as a bracelet, that is until each of the other pieces are connected. The first seems to be an elaborate hair comb whose teeth are made to sit inside the ring, this part of the hairpin is adorned with carefully crafted butterflies and flowers made of several different colours of jade. The flowers have small pearls in the centre while each of the butterfly's antennae is made from gold with a small piece of mother of pearl at the top. At the base of the comb section of the hairpin, there are three golden chains which start with three pearls, then three small gold charms, three more pearls, three small golden balls, and two butterflies on the outer chain while the centre is split into three additional chains. The centre has mother of pearl beads. Each of the five chains has a small carved pearl flower. To make sure the ring and comb stay in place the last piece of this elaborate hairpin is the pin itself which is made from gold that has a pearl at the top with two splintering golden chains that have the same small carved pearl flowers.[break]
History:[break]
The history of this hairpin has been a long one, in fact, it has been around for so long and had so many owners that the adornments and chains had once been broken, chipped or lost. The origins of the hairpin weren't anything significant, a man met a woman, the man fell in love with that woman and wanted to show his devotion to her and so made a token of his love. It was something that was given to the firstborn son of the Yinsil family at their coming of age so they may give it to their betrothed when he felt the pang of love for her. By the time it had gotten to Enlil, it was nothing more than a husk of its former self and so through painstaking love and attention to detail he removed each of the old adornments making them into new pieces of jewellery for his mother and sisters before crafting brand new ones for the woman that would one day be his wife. It had taken him years to get the hairpin in such a state that he found it aesthetically pleasing to look at and that his future wife would feel honoured to wear it to show their bond of love.
[break][break] Abilities:
[break][break] The wearer of Xià Rì Zhī Liàn gains access to the perks 'Full Blitz' and 'Self Repairing'
Touching the twin chains of the pin starting at the pearl before moving to the pearl flowers saying "Shèngkāi" creates what seems like blue jade flower petals to fall from the sky which surround the wearer. These petals are no bigger than apple blossom petals and remain within six inches of the wearer on all sides almost like a bubble. The petals can take up to intermediate damage before being destroyed, however, if the gem petal bubble isn't destroyed it will repair itself the following round. With the use of the ammo rules, the wearer can say the name of allies to have them gain the same benefits from this ability.[break]
Raising their dominant hand to the sky they circle their wrist gracefully as they lower their hand almost as if a falling flower petal, the circle motion must happen four times for the ability to activate. At the base of the wearer's feet, is a seal made from topaz, looking closer makes it almost seem as if it is designed after bamboo. This seal has two effects, the first being a marking which looks like a topaz bamboo shoot that appears at the back of the wearer's hand increasing their physical strength to junior rank damage while also giving their physical attacks a magical backing. The second is that if an attack gets close a thick bamboo-like forest made from topaz sprouts around the wearer. This forest is only around twelve inches away from the user and requires intermediate damage before it is destroyed, however, if the forest isn't destroyed then it will repair itself the very following round.
[break][break] Name of the Ability: Shǎn Liàng De Mìngyùn[break]
This ability is passive due to this the word count to raise it will be added to the relics word count as it will increase at the exact same time. For now, this ability seems inactive due to no real connection made with the relic, however, as the relic gets stronger the wearer will find that their speed will increase by one rank lower as per the passive buff rules.

" oh goodie! What will we have here!" Spoke Saeka happily descending upon the festival from her broom. She always loved the spirit festival as it was a night of spooky happenings. It is assumed the veil between the world of the living and the afterlife was very thin and sometimes will allow mischievous spirits to have come to the world of the living and play their tricks. but same could be said for love ones coming from the afterlife to speak to their descendants. She often believed some of the skeletons in her own closet likes to come out to remind her of her misdeeds. She just laughed at them the entire time for the reason they are dead and she was not.
She had dyed her skin purple for the temporary fit of the outfit while taking a much different approach to her outfit.
"Now where to go" she asked
She touched down and adjusted her dress before heading into the festival. seeing what she could get up to.
Post by Kenja Ravencrest on Oct 1, 2023 9:53:37 GMT -5
As the brisk autumn air rustled through the crimson and amber leaves of Hage village, Kenja stood at the threshold of the Spirit Festival. His demeanor, as always, was stoic and composed, a stark contrast to the excitement and anticipation that filled the atmosphere. Clad in a finely tailored costume that concealed his true identity, Kenja was a study in elegance only using the finest quality material and realistic prosthetics. His attire had him looking like a realistic werewolf, so real that he drew the attention of guards when he first showed up. While in his high-quality werewolf costume, Kenja moved with a deliberate, hunched gait. Each fur tuft was meticulously designed to replicate the rugged appearance of a true werewolf. The faux fur rustled with every step, creating a lifelike illusion that even the keenest observer might mistake for a genuine transformation. His keen, observant gaze was now hidden behind the golden eyes of the wolf mask. The mask itself was a work of art, intricately detailed with furrowed brows and a feral snarl, concealing his true identity beneath the layers. As his arms dangled from the costume's hunched form, he acknowledged the attention to detail in the claws that adorned his fingertips as well. Each claw, painstakingly crafted, seemed almost capable of tearing through armor and bone.
As Barron's voice boomed with maniacal laughter and words of tradition, Kenja remained unfazed. With a stoic acknowledgment of Barron's expectations, Kenja slipped into the crowd, his curiosity driving him forward. As he prowled through the festival grounds, his movements were akin to that of a predator stalking its prey. The festival, in contrast to his inwardly composed exterior, appeared as a whirlwind of sensory overload. The air was filled with the cacophony of laughter and music, a chaotic symphony that swirled around him. Revelers in their various costumes danced and frolicked, their joyous cries blending into the night. But amidst this chaos, Kenja's mind was far from dormant. Behind the mask, his eyes flickered with curiosity, scanning the revelers for any hint of the supernatural, for glimpses of the spirits that were said to roam on this night. His sharp mind questioned the origins of the festival, the stories that had given birth to it, and the true nature of the veil between worlds.
In the guise, Kenja was no longer just a musical prodigy or a Golden Dawn Magic Knight; he was a creature of the night, a seeker of hidden truths in a world where the boundaries between reality and myth blurred. And in the midst of this carnival of music, laughter, and games, he stalked the Spirit Festival with the relentless determination of a wolf on the hunt. As he ventured deeper into the festival, heading to the Fancy Dress competition to show off the craftsmanship of his expensive outfit.

Ostanda stretched sitting on her broom heading to the spirit festival. She didn't know why she was tending to this festival. she had more important matters of taking out taiyo first and foremost, then she can focus on reuniting her family though the biggest issue other then taiyo was getting Leonard to submit. If anyone was the most stubborn it was Leonard. he was hell bent in his way and making the vermillion great again.
She shaked her red hair before placing it in a ponytail as she descended upon the spirit festival seeing all the patrons arriving various socialites with their families some coming solo. She her broom aside as she walked towards the entrance of the festival in thought. She walked through the crowds well placing a black and red mask over her face. She reached into her bage pulling out a sheer scarf wrapping it loosely around the back of her head and shoulders as she was going to try enjoying the night and the festival around herself Outfit Leaving to:Reliving some stress on Zombies
Between all of the training sessions he had been putting himself through, the sheer amount of dungeons he had been venturing into as of late and the missions he had been taking on for those who had the money to pay for his services, a festival such as this was exactly what he needed. As it were, he was not exactly anyone famous, lacked a noble title or ancestry, at least for as far as he was aware, which made these kind of festivities a lot more fun. No need to look over one’s shoulder, no need to talk to people because he felt he owed them a conversation on the grounds of knowing who they were or vice versa, just plain old fun for the sake of it. While he had been back in the land of Clover for a time, this was quite frankly the first time he had ever heard of this spirit festival business.
He knew that back on Skjaergard, the people had their own customs that dealt with this time of year, as it was when the risen dead were by far the most unruly, and when the corpse eaters got bolder. For when their source of food began walking again and fighting back, there was little for the corpse eaters to feed on, leading them to try their hands on devouring the living instead. It was a time of greater hardship than normal, which was saying something when one lived in a land where farming was quite frankly impossible due to the cold weather and the amount of sea salt in the soil. Add onto that the fact that the vengeful dead returned in droves, spirits of the deceased lured people into the marshes to die and corpse eating creatures lingered underneath the rickety houses, in ditches and in shallow ponds, it was a miracle he survived as long as he did.
Here in Clover, it seemed to be a time of celebration, which was quite honestly something he did not understand yet. Though based off of his assumptions, they didn’t have to deal with a metric ton of undead rising from their neatly organized little graves, nor did they have any corpse eating monstrosities here for as far as he was aware. It was why today, he had come dressed up as per the request stated on the flyers posted around the country, which was honestly a rather lucky strike. For during one of his latest dungeon delving sessions, he had come across a bunch of warriors clad in steel suits of armor. While heavy, he had managed to salvage what pieces his magic hadn’t destroyed and made essentially a full suit for himself to wear. Leaving out a few pieces here and there because he was a lot shorter and had a smaller frame than the men that had worn them before him, the boy believed it looked credible enough to pass here.
Clanking throughout the street as he overheard the introductory tale spoken by one of the captains of the magic squads, he barely even saw who it was during his quest to find something edible. However, that quest was paused when he noticed that they had several interesting games and contests on these grounds. And where there were contests and games, there were prizes to be won. And if there was one thing he liked more than eating, it was sleeping. And if there was one thing he loved more than sleeping, it was winning prizes. Looking around to see which of the events had kicked off, he almost skipped into the direction of the first, his armor making an awful lot of noise in the process.

[attr="class","julienglass2scroll"] As with many of the green mantis Squad Sol was present for the spirit festival and just as he had last year he had dressed up once more, while he listened to his captain give his speech and encourage them to have fun and enjoy themselves the tall mage was very aware that he had looks on him not just from his height but from his outfit as well. The outfit he had on was close to his last one from the previous spirit festival with an intricate robe and black pants and boots and a hood covered his face though what did stand out from last time was that his robes were more frayed seemed as if they were worn by an elderly being with the sleeves and the bottom of the robe being more frayed but in a way that caused fear. Upon the mans face was a red mask like last time but this was seemed odd as if a fusion of his previous mask and another making a twisted yet terrifying visage, what finished the outfit was the gloves on his hands that shadowed them as well as the wicked looking gauntlets on his lower arms giving his fingers wicked claws with no sacrifice of movement. [break][break] As he glanced around Sol knew that his face was shadowed as well as masked which made the effect of his costume more effective and the spiked paldrones on his shoulders gave a dark lich like vibe. As Barron finished up his speech the world tree mage just sighed a bit before glanced around looking for something to do.”hmm I recall there being zombies for target practice perhaps that should be interesting” he muttered to himself as he would head that way. Amidst the shifting seasons near Hage village, where the vibrant greens of spring and summer surrender to autumn's warm embrace, a palpable sense of anticipation envelops the air. Winter looms on the horizon, but before the first leaves tumble, the enigmatic and cherished Spirit Festival takes center stage. This time-honored celebration, steeped in folklore, weaves tales of a world where the boundaries between the living and the departed blur, allowing mischievous spirits to cross over. Inquiring about its origin elicits a chorus of conflicting stories, inviting each listener to weave their unique interpretation.
For Seraphina, a proud citizen of Clover, this festival carries profound significance. It's a time when the village comes alive with an aura of mystery and enchantment, and for her, it's a chance to immerse herself in the festivities like never before. As the night descends and the moon's gentle radiance bathes the village in a silvery glow, Seraphina finds herself donning an elaborate mask that transforms her into a figure of intrigue.
The moment the mask graces her face, she feels as if an enchantment sweep over her. It's as if she's crossed into a realm where reality and fantasy blend seamlessly. Her heart flutters with excitement as she joins the lively procession of villagers, all adorned in vibrant costumes, eager to celebrate the night in style.
The village square, illuminated by countless lanterns and candles, is a mesmerizing tapestry of color and light. Seraphina weaves her way through the crowd, her senses heightened by the intoxicating scents of roasted chestnuts and spiced cider wafting from nearby stalls.
In the heart of the festival, a group of musicians plays a haunting melody on traditional instruments, their music casting a spell over the gathering. Villagers of all ages, their faces hidden behind masks of various designs, twirl and sway to the enchanting tunes, their laughter and jubilant chatter filling the air.
Delicious aromas beckon Seraphina towards a row of stalls where skilled artisans offer an array of culinary delights. She can't resist the temptation of freshly baked pastries, their golden crusts filled with fragrant spices and sweet fillings that melt in her mouth. Nearby, a fire pit crackles and sends sparks spiraling into the night, offering warmth and comfort to those who gather around it.
As Seraphina moves through the crowd, her mind is abuzz with wonder and excitement. The Spirit Festival has a way of conjuring both the mystical and the mundane, blending them into a tapestry of enchantment.
With each step she takes, the night unfolds before her in all its splendor. The moonlight bathes the village in an otherworldly glow, and the lanterns that line the paths create intricate patterns of light and shadow that dance on her mask.
As the night's revelry continues, Seraphina decides to make her way to an attraction that has captured her imagination—the Pumpkin Carving Event. With a sense of excitement and curiosity masked by her enigmatic visage, she gracefully navigates through the winding pathways of the festival, following the warm glow of lanterns that illuminate her path.
[attr="class","polarPOSTIT"] The sound of the soft bells he wore on his ankles filled the air as he walked with a soft warrior grace. The porceline mask he wore covered only the upper half of his face. He smiled as he made his way into the festival on single toothed wooden sandles. Most would find it unstable but with his training in martial arts and his natural flexibility he found it was as easy to walk on them as if he was barefoot. He had given enlai and through him, lanyng their special baskets for the year, that would magically keep their trick or treating safe. They were still teens after all. He wondered what they would dress up as this year. He smiled to himself and gently tapped the drum around his neck. He wanted to have some fun himself this year and dressed as a nine tailed fox spirit ready to cause mischief. He smirked and made his way into the festival properly. As he walked in, he would begin to sing a soft tune, one of mischief and fun in the night.
Lex found herselfwalkinh around the festival gourds. The Freen Mantis Squad would be hosting it this year. It seemed fitting that they would be the ones to host. Especially what they're squat to have them being who he is. It almost seemed like he was perfect for the job. She walked around surveying the festival, seeing members of all different swords coming and enjoying themselves. It was a nice break for their Routines for the time of the year, and she was glad that people found the sort of thing enjoyable. This was now the second festival she had gone to. And this time she wasn't with anybody else. Though she didn't tend to mind. She was used to going at things alone, and maybe she'd run under one of her squad mates at a later events. She was sure that they were here somewhere around the grounds. She didn't know what events she wanted to start with. Walking around in sight seeing was fired, and all but she might as home make the most out of her day. Nothing was grabbing her attention that made her wanted to start..some events were things like pumpkin carving or trick or treating. Could be fun to do later, but she won't start with us. She wanted to start working Bang with this event. No she paused as she saw one of the events that would pick her interest. A murder mystery.
This caught her attention almost immediately as she approached the home. And she got to do an event that actually flexed her mind rather than her broad. The idea of solving your case and figure out the puzzles and interest fees of them tickled her so. Having decided that this would be a good first event for her, she walked towards the decorated home that was made to look like a high-end. Home when you'd find an accommodation. Not when you'd ever dare seen the nobles area. But it was still a nice house, all things considered, Decorated in such a manner that would also give it a creepy and early edge. It was very fitting for a halloween type event. To her, the event had already started. She approached the manner doing it. A small smile to herself as she got ready to see how this event will work, very eager to start it and starting to solve this mystery.
Jiao hadn't long arrived within the kingdom of Clover but there had been a certain energy in the air that she understood. Excitement. After getting settled into her very modest home within Hage she and the guard who came with her began to walk around during the day watching as others placed up decorations and started to get things prepared in a festival ground nearby. Soon enough, it started to get darker and she noticed what she believed to be young children dressed up in all sorts of costumes so she turned her eyes to the guard that was with her asking him if he knew what was going on. He told her from what he understood this was an annual tradition that was held here and that there would be all sorts of festivities later in the evening. She hoped that she would be able to take part but she realized that it may be difficult.
She returned to her home to finish unpacking, it felt odd to have her male guard live in the same home as her without a family member there to make sure nothing untoward would happen. She could only imagine the rumours that would spread if she was home but her father trusted the one that she called her guardian her entire life and they had more of a sibling relationship at this point due to it. "Do you think I too will need to dress up?" she would ask "I believe some of the festivities require such a thing." she grabbed her hanfu's skirt and shook her head knowing that she didn't have such a thing and was given a modest stipend every month from her father so it wasn't exactly like she could frivolous over such thing. "I... I want to but I will be happy observing this year." she said her tone saddened.
Eventually, darkness fell and she moved to the festival grounds it was so busy that she almost lost sight of her guardian several times. He was always close by and tugged her sleeve to stop if he believed she was moving too far from him. Soon enough they stopped when they saw a gathering, everyone was watching a man in black as he spoke, she looked to her guard who acted as a translator for what was being said "Is he important do you think?" she would ask he would smile and nod "It would seem as though he is in command of the ones hosting this celebration." he would comment "Do you think... I'll see my mom again tonight?" she would ask looking like she was ready to cry, he would give a sad smile.
"Now, if we do meet her do you think she would want to see you sad?" he would ask, making her shake her head and put on a bright smile "No, she liked it when I smiled." with that she once again began to walk around the festival grounds taking in the sights, sounds and smells that filled the area around her.

The Spirit Festival was a time of wonder. The last time he attended the event, he ended up getting a slap across his face. It was a simpler time back then. Things got complicated and that was his own fault but there was no changing the past. Now, all that was, was moving forward. He was now a known rogue and it wasn’t safe for him to go out into the world showing his face. He could simply use his spatial ring to transform but he couldn’t keep that up all day. Instead, he could dye his hair jet black, wear an outfit that no one would ever expect and act like someone he’s not.
For this event, Taiyo sat down and allowed his hair to be dyed and then pinned up in an eastern style. In terms of clothing, he was going to be wearing a fairy style hanfu. Who would expect him to wear this? This was far from anything he would naturally wear or even entertain the thought of it but for this occasion things were going to be done differently. After all, he needed to be able to hide in plain sight since he was a known rogue. The last part was going to be getting his face done with makeup so that he would look more feminine. Of course, to sell the part, he would need to sound that way too so he would make sure that he pitched his voice up a few octaves to accomplish this. For a name, Yumiko was perfect for the look.
When he arrived at the Spirit Festival Grounds, he noticed the people there dressed up in their costumes. He continued to stay hidden behind his hood and continued moving so that he wouldn’t have to deal with talking with people. He was going to simply be there in the background. He listened to what the Green Mantis captain said in the greeting. He thought about the things he wanted to do to get the trick or treat bags. He then had an idea of what he was going to do first. Since he always did pumpkin carving first, this time around it was going to be one of the other games.
[attr="class","polarPOSTIT"] The Autumn festival. He smiled to himself, remembering that the last time he had partaken in this event he was single and a much different person then he was now. It was like he was a completely different person. He would make his way toward the entrance to the festival as he weaved his way through the walking entrance and its multiple people with a swaying step. He may not be a natural dancer, but his skill with rythem and his photographic memory made it hard to at least not figure out how people could dance and move/ as he made through the crowd, it was clear that what ever his costume was was meant to illicit the reaction of seeing a full blooded elf for the first time. He would make his way toward the center of the event and his outfit wa like that of a dancer of a far away land. The silk red scarf upon his chest fluttered in the winter Breeze. He would walk into the event and make his way to find Joseph.
[attr="class","augusttext"] The spirit festival, an event that came around once a year for all to enjoy. However this year was something special at least for Asahi, as he had never gotten to fully partake in such an event fully. With this in mind he decided to dress up in a costume and show his spirit as best as he could. He would dress up similarly to one of the swordsman from his homeland also known as a samurai. The attire of the samurai consisted of a body suit, with many pieces of big plated armor all over the body. And of course no swordsman outfit could be completed without the oh so important katana, something that Asahi kept with him 24/7. With the seemingly perfect costume Asahi would head out to enjoy the festivities that came with the spirit festival. [BREAK][BREAK] Shortly after he would arrive Asahi would see a massive crowd of people, along with signs advertising various food and activities. He saw one sign in which some sort of game where one hunts zombies was taking place. The young swordsman would ponder for a moment before saying to himself *Seems like a good way to get my feet wet, in this whole festival thing. Perhaps something im used to is the best way to warm up.* He would then make his way towards the forest where this event was taking place.

[break] TL;DR Going to Zombie Hunting [BREAK][BREAK] SPELLS: ITEMS:
As winter approached, the village of Hage bustled with the preparations for the annual Spirit Festival. Surveying the shifting hues of the trees and the dedicated farmers toiling in the fields, Amon couldn't help but reflect on the impending winter. Winter was coming, and with it, the time-honored tradition of the Spirit Festival.
No one knew exactly why this festival began, and the stories surrounding its origin were as diverse as the villagers themselves. Some believed it was a time when the boundary between the living and the dead became blurred, inviting mischievous spirits into the world. These spirits coveted what they could no longer have, and so the festival was born.
Amon's anticipation for the festival was palpable. He had always admired the Captain of the Green Mantis, who had initiated this tradition to protect the people of Hage from the antics of the otherworldly beings. It was a time for merriment, with food, music, games, and costumes that concealed the boundary between the living and the spirits. Children and teenagers could go door-to-door, gathering treats from their neighbors' stalls and houses.
As the years passed, the festival had evolved. Excessive tricks were discouraged, and those who crossed the line faced consequences. The Green Mantis knights enjoyed the festivities like everyone else, but they also recognized their duty to protect the village. Amon admired their sense of responsibility.
Now, it had become a cherished tradition, a time when people could reunite with their loved ones, whether they were living or spirits. Amon, despite his usual reserved demeanor, was eager to participate in the festival, hoping for a special connection with his own family members who had passed away.
The festival's opening address was delivered by Hannibal Barron, whose devilish grin and maniacal laughter set the tone for the evening. He spoke of the thin veil between the spirit world and their own, a hint of death in the air. Barron reveled in the serenity of death and welcomed everyone to the Spirit Festival, praising its success over the years.
The veil between the spirit world and our world is so thin. You can smell the death on the air. Hmm. There is a serenity in death, isn't there? Barron mused.
He spoke of the festival's history and its significance as a time to bridge the gap between the living and the spirits. He encouraged the villagers to enjoy the festivities and had high expectations for his squad, including Amon.
I'm especially expecting big things from my squad. You better show out today! Citizens of Clover, enjoy this festival. Dance with the dead in the glorious moonlight. Knights, you know your duty. I expect nothing less than perfection this year, and I am sure you will deliver.
Amon, now embodying Frankenstein's monster, couldn't help but feel a sense of purpose and responsibility as Barron's words echoed in his ears. The Spirit Festival represented not only a time for celebration but also an opportunity to honor his family and bridge the gap between the past and the present. With this eerie guise, he ventured into the moonlit night, ready to immerse himself in the festivities and connect with the spirits that roamed the thin line between the two worlds.
