Rosalia smiled when she saw Chisana’s magic flare up. It was familiar, it was homely. It was what she loved about every member of the Black Bulls. They were the closest thing she had to a family. The best one and she’d grown to fight more and more not just for the kingdom, but for them. Charles in specific had quite the personal experience with Sven, and this made him a sore spot. She wanted her friend to feel safe, and to feel happy once more. He’d lost several pounds when he returned home. A mess of the worst kind that she and Malcolm had to fix. And they did their best. [break][break] When the topic of conversation continued to be about her brothers, she knew that Sven wanted to play with her. He was running his nails on a chalkboard. In reality, Rosalia didn’t think she cared much for those wenches. They were better dead that stealing other children, and yet there was the tinge of curiosity, that need to know how they’re doing, and that need to show them where her talent for magic had taken her. She wasn’t in the Golden Dawn, sure, but she loved the Bulls like nothing else in the world. [break][break] "I didn't realise your captain was here, did I miss him?" [break][break] A visible pause. A blink. Her fingers loosened around her whip before she huffed and shook her head, a small blush dusting her pale cheeks. Rosa knew exactly what Sven was doing. And it was clear he was having a field day with her mind. The things he’d find there…well, she hoped he loved a lot of passionate sex. “A woman can only dream…” She responded with a little smile. The beauty would feel a lot more comfortable if both of her best friends were here, but for now… [break][break] Her ruby hues turned to Zaven as she pursed her lips. The witch would smile and nod when he told them not to get distracted. When she didn’t receive a response from both Ardere or Zaven as to whether she could leave to check in on the rest of the town and her siblings, she shook her head. Her task was instead to watch how everyone else would do and call out for aid. She cracked her whip at the first enemy that approached her and Chisana, trying to take out the senior beastie with ease while she maintained her shield on the other allies that entered combat. So far everyone was managing, but in her mind they were progressing too slow. [break][break] “Guess we’ll have to stick to the others for now, old friend.” She said to Chisana, smacking her whip into one of the junior enemies. The beauty was itching to take a look at the hometown, but she had to follow orders. And sometimes she hated orders.
Mana Conservationist: You will be able to use spells with less mana than others when it comes to casting spells! Each rank of spell will have its spell cost go down by the following amounts, please remember that this is based on the rank of the spell not the character! [Juniors]: 2 | [Intermediate]: 4 | [Senior]: 6 | [Grand]: 10 | [Archmage]: 16
Perfect Buff: Those with this perk may now cause their magical stat boost buffs to buff at a rank above their own when buffing allies only. For Archmage spells this will give +3 to the total of the buff. This cannot affect Physical Buffs in any way, even if used in dual spec.

Description: Rosalia pours mana into her grimoire, summoning forth a whip of flexible black ice, called Frostbite.  The whip deals senior damage to an enemy, buffing the caster's Power by +9 upon usage. If the whip is picked up by an ally, they obtain a buff of +12 Power.[break]
This spell works with the ammo rules.[break][break] [break]
White Knight: Those with this skill can cause their defensive based spells and abilities cleanse debuffs. This mechanic works in the same fashion as healing does when removing debuffs.
Mana Conservationist: You will be able to use spells with less mana than others when it comes to casting spells! Description: Rosalia summons forth a living barrier of gentle pale ice that swirls around herself and several allies of her choice. The barrier acts as an intermediate level defense spell that glistens under the sun, protecting the target from damage. If an enemy gets close enough to attack, however, the ice in the barrier will strike out against them, dealing intermediate damage and turning black.
This spell goes off of the projectiles/ammo/occurrences/ rules based on a mage’s control.[break][break]
Chisana watched as his golems did their job and continued holding back the beasts that swarmed towards them, he made sure to have them continue their assault and defense of the area as needed. Rosa seemed to have some reaction to how the creatures looked due to them looking like family members or relatives of some sort, Chisana didn’t know to much about her background beyond what they had shared in passing or on missions. They had respected each others history and only prodded when needed or allowed so the request to go search the town was starting to make sense to the young Shengxiao. The captain’s seemed to brush the request to the side being adamant about not getting distracted and to focus on the enemy in front of us whether that was to the request of splitting the group or more about how the daemon seemed to be able to talk directly into their head. It was an advanced for of sensory that Chisana had only read about especially for the captains to be effected by it without any issue it seemed.[break][break]
Disregarding the implications behind that type of strength it was time for Chisana to just focus on his own issues in front of him which was a small handful of these creatures. Rosa was doing her best to take care of the stronger of the group so Chisana made sure to focus his effort on the weaker ones which shouldn’t be to much of an issue for his golems but he also decided to use his boosted speed to attack at the Junior level creatures hoping to hit one with one strike and then turn to attack the other junior with another strike, then he would do his best to use that speed to get out of the area quickly hoping to avoid any counter attacks. For the moment the archdaemon remained quiet watching from wherever it was he was sat, after all, with his sensory he could keep an eye on the whole of the town regardless of where he was. He watched how the group that came from the north gate had reacted to the welcoming fireworks, the fight with the enemies that had drawn towards them and how they reacted with one another. The captain of the golden dawn once again drew back his bowstring of the shadow bow he had created and released it towards one of the more intimidating enemies. The shadow beast had seen it coming and so smartly had delved into an alley in the hopes that it would save its life before going on the attack once more. This wasn't the case. The arrow had locked onto its target and cut through the bricks of the building it had been hiding behind and caught the infernal beast in the throat, the damage to the wall it had cut through was minimal as it only left a hole big enough that the arrow had gone through so would be easy to patch at a later date. The enemy that was hit however had tried to let out a scream of pain but all that was released was a gurgling noise as it fought for each and every breath while drowning in its own blood. This had been a somewhat foreseen yet unexpected turn of events for the archdaemon as when most of them attacked they gave no thoughts as to if this could be an illusion or not, surely, those he had allowed safe passage from the town the first time would have been debriefed and would have let them know they were illusion based daemons so never to take things at face value.
This had either not been the case, they honestly didn't care as they saw the deaths as collateral damage or something akin to Chinese whispers had happened and as more and more people were told things were either omitted or the story had changed to were things hadn't been told at all. Then again some of the things the last group had been through it were easy to see why some details might have not been divulged such as a magic knight and a civilian almost killing six children between them. The other thing he found quite interesting was that the scent of smoke and burning flesh seemed not to phase most of the group in any sort of way, it was true some of them were veterans in the field but each war came with its own enemy and he was pretty sure there hadn't been one like him before as at current they would have no idea if it was their senses being toyed with or not. In this case, they were not and when Ardere had attacked one of the mana beasts it had set off a trap in the punishment section of the town where those that had been suffering since their crimes had been found out were now set on fire. Even though the captain should have known to be more careful there was no way to know what the attacks would do and so couldn't really be held accountable for the aftermath of it. Sven did wonder how the giant of a man would take what had happened when he saw it but that would happen in due time and he was willing to let his anticipation grow till then.
He did find it interesting when the captains tried to give pep talks to the others, it was true this could normally boost morale and give people the confidence but things weren't always as they seemed especially within a town that was nothing but eternal night. The golden dawn captain then called out to the woman who had taken to the rooftops and had requested if she saw anyone in trouble to call them out, where this was normally a smart move as going to the higher ground normally gave room to see further but the red-headed black bull would actually find the reverse had happened, she wouldn't be able to see any further than the length of her arm. The other thing that he had noticed was how the shadow user seemed on quite friendly terms with the ice user given he didn't just use her name but an abbreviated version of it. It was clear the other captain and this woman were the two people he was closet to given how he called everyone else by their squad so it was something he could and would manipulate if and when the time called for it, for now, he had no reason as they had been pretty much doing what he had expected like actors playing the parts assigned to them. It was quite drab in his opinion as they were quite a cliche, he knew it couldn't be helped as everything they had been to up to this point had put them into the stereotypical cookie-cutter mould and he didn't expect that it would be changing anytime in this lifetime sadly.
When the female civilian spoke to the male he couldn't help but sigh, there was no way she could know that for certain but she was right about him not having the power of the vice-captain he had fought. From behind her, she would feel hot breath on the back of her neck and ear as well as light breathing "You are not completely wrong but you are not right either." he said in a small whispered voice that only she would hear, she would hear it as if he was standing right behind her as this was happening. "His strength in mana is around the same as yours, however, just because one says they are not built to do something does not necessarily mean that they are incapable of doing it." he said like a disappointed tutor towards a student that was about to fail a class he was teaching. "For instance, myself and my children aren't built for fighting we're more built as illusionists and trap masters but it hadn't stopped me taking out an honourable warrior in a fight without any illusions being used. So a helpful piece of advice from me to you little girl. Never, ever, jump to conclusions unless you want to wind up dead" he placed emphasis on the first two words and the last word of the last sentence he spoke to her in the hopes she would take it in, after all, it was how he had claimed Kikka in the first place to many people had came to their own conclusions without knowing how the rest of the machine worked.
The second civilian seemed to have noticed the scent around them and the noises that the enemies had been giving out, but that had been slightly put to the back as he communicated with the others as he realised he had been cocky with his words and it had come back to bite him with how Sven and the female civilian had shown him just how such an attitude could end him. As much as he didn't like it he had to bite the proverbial bullet and accept the criticism that had come his way.
His attention was pulled once again back to the crimson lion captain as he was spoken to he could understand where the man was coming from as there was always something that everyone regretted, even daemons within reason. "Everyone is haunted by something, some more than others but we shouldn't blame the ones that come before us for the shadows of our pasts. We are our own people after all Firra." he said to the man his tone calm and in no way taunting him on this matter. As he had spoken it would seem like the fire user had had time to centre himself and sent his flaming blades towards one of the enemies, the blades shredding it to pieces before it could even react to what was going on. "Oh, I'm not trying to trick you on that Firra, there is indeed a sect within this town I brought them here just for you. I thought a family reunion would be a wonderful thing, it has been how many years now?" he asked as if he was being sincere on the matter which he was in regards to there being a sect within the town but he was trying to get under the skin of the man in regards to a family reunion. "Oh, I'm in no way a coward I assure you on this, however, I don't mind irritating you because boars tend to make mistakes when angered, just like monkeys do." he chuckled as he saw them as little more than animals at the end of the day. "Now, now Firra there's no need for such harsh words we're all friends here and as you have been told I do have a sense of honour and when we do finally meet I will fight you on equal footing as you deserve nothing less than that which means you will have to decide amongst you which one of you will be fighting me. Fair is fair after all." With that he had gone silent showing he had no intention of fighting the entire group, he would fight on an equal playing field which meant only one of them got the right to fight him at the end of the day.
His eyes turned to the red-headed purple orca mage seemed to speak out against what the black bull vice-captain had requested, she was quite right splitting up was a terrible idea unless they had everything needed to be able to protect themselves and see through anything that they may come across. She also did state that it was in fact up to the two captains as they were the ones that had final say over what the group as a whole did. When he was asked a question by her he was more than happy to answer her "They are little more than golems to me." he admitted, they were disposable to him as they had only one purpose which they were doing and so could, in fact, die without him even batting an eyelash at what was going on with them. "Aren't you a smart cookie, however, there are several of these things that are already dead and because of this you are all going to have issues most likely." he said nonchalantly as he could see everything that was going on and knew what was real and what wasn't of course even if he couldn't as he had set this up he knew that something was going to go wrong and marvelled in just how beautiful the carnage that the 'heroes' of this story were doing without any thought of the consequences that could come with them. With elegance and grace, the gemstone mage hit her mark knocking out the final two threats to her group which had them slumping at her feet unable to do much else. Within the attack, the gemstone mage would be able to have seen something twinkling on a window sill, whatever it was it was sitting on a piece of paper. One thing Sven himself had noticed however was no one in the group had yet answered her question on whether they could see past her illusion or not.
The daemon knew that even if one hated one's kin there would always be that attachment to them to protect them even if they had done them wrong. Even now as much as he wouldn't like to admit it if one of his own children were in danger he would do his best to make them survive. Even though they had taken her from her birth home, used her as a maid, tried to force her onto some noble as a wife, didn't want her to learn magic and everything in between she had gained her freedom and put them in her closet to forget them. Of course, skeletons in closets tend to rear their ugly heads in the most inopportune moments he found and though she likely lothed them for everything that they had done to her and put her through they were still her family and so she would care for them. There may also have been the fact she wanted to show to them what she had accomplished since leaving them regardless of what they had done to her. "You know, as much as you detest them they are likely the reason you are where you are now snowflake." he didn't mean anything by the last word other than she was quite a unique beauty even if she wasn't to his personal tastes. In his opinion, if she hadn't been treated and pushed the way she had then she may have settled down eventually, she may have become a full-time model or if she had actually joined the knights she may have ended up in another squad or if she had still ended up in the black bulls she may not be holding the same position she currently was but this was just his speculation at the end of the day. He knew those with harder lives tended to push harder so they could prevent anyone else having to go through it if they could help it.
He couldn't help but chuckle as he saw how the vice-captain of the black bulls had acted when her captain had been brought up, it had seemed that the information he had received was indeed true and would happily use this to his benefit at a later point. "Going by that blush it is more than a dream such a woman as yourself has been through." he commented showing he believed they had already slept together or it was getting to that point not that he cared in anyways. It would seem between the group the enemy had been completely taken down, it hadn't surprised him but it was his turn to give them a little surprise as he dropped the illusion four of the twelve were indeed civilians, three of which had been killed but there was no way in knowing who killed them as any markings that would have given it away had been removed and as everyone was so close it was hard to tell which people had done the detestable deeds if that wasn't bad enough there was movement from four of those on the ground, their bodies seemingly starting to twist and bend in ways that didn't seem natural within a very short moment four of the mana beasts were back on their feet and were aiming for the group again.
Story:
Sven has continued watching from afar though has taunted, given insight, information and even lessons to some of the group depending on his mood was towards them. He gave his thoughts on what the mana beasts to Lilith showing he cared little for them though after her attacks she did see something sparkling just outside of her field of vision. Ardere has been told there is a sect of the cult his father was part of within the town and the black bulls had to stay put because permission to leave wasn't given but the group had taken out the enemy with quite some ease, however, Sven wasn't finished with them and lowered his illusion revealing out of the twelve mana beasts that had 'attacked' four were actually civilians and three of them were killed by the group while this was going on four of the mana beasts seemed to reanimate and start to change forms. These mana beasts have come back one rank higher than they were the last time.
- Where this is a death enabled thread I will not be going out my way to kill characters, the only way this will happen is if silly actions take place on the players side.
- Actions have consequences not only for you but potentially whatever organisation you belong to so think before acting.
- Each round will generally last 3 - 4 days, extensions can be requested but they must come a little in advance and with a decent reason or they will be denied.
- You are not locked into anything until your first post within your thread.
- The event will run on three strikes in regards to skipping rounds. The first time will be a verbal warning and perhaps a trap being set off, the second time I am taking something from you and will set a trap off, third time you will either be removed or killed depending on the reasons for the skips.
- Withdrawing once the event is in full swing without a decent reason will result in your character dying, with a good reason you will be fine and have reduced rewards at the end.
- Any nerfing or buffing of stats/abilities via spell/item etc are not permanent unless otherwise stated and will end at the end of the thread.
- Lydia is flying above the town under orders of the Wizard King, only the captains know and only they can request help
- Lydia is allowed to shoot light into threads once per page, the light will last 2 rounds before vanishing during the 2 rounds of sight character vision will be fully restored
- If two or more characters are below 50% on either mana or health the light will return either 10 mana or 25% of the character's health per round it can not do both.
- During the two round of pure light Lydia will be able to see the town perfect for the most part so can relay information if requested to one group but she must be contacted for that information.
- If a captain in one thread asks for light to be given, the very next round the opposite thread will gain the benefit of the light so use this wisely.
- If Lydia believes someone is doing something stupid after two rounds and if gm permission is asked she can shoot a warning shot at the person in question but not directly hit them.
- Just clarifying Lydia will only take one warning shot at the feet if she believes you are messing up, if she has to shoot at you again you will be taking damage equal to a quarter of your rank. (Juniors will be taking junior damage as will intermediates) If she has to shoot deal with you a third time she is allowed to attempt to knock you out. A warning from the people in the group will always be allowed to be given before Lydia will be allowed to take a shot regardless.
- Chisana start colouring your text for me please reading blocks of white makes me read the same sentence or paragraph several times to see if I've missed anything.
- Read each other's posts more carefully because not one of you seem to have realised that Lilith asked a question, right now she is tied up all her ability to communicate with the other team or even help communicate with Lydia as she has no idea who can see through her illusion/sense her.
- You guys keep missing things so read each others posts carefully
- Don't jump to conclusions on people's abilities it can come off meta even if you don't mean for it to happen. Best way to avoid it is showing how they came to the conclusion.
- This round will last 7 days and I want at least two posts from each player, a new round can't begin until everyone has posted for the previous one.

[attr="class","verenaver2scroll"] "...Ah. I'm... very sorry. I didn't mean any offense..." Verena sheepishly said.[break][break]
She was hopeful that someone could raise through the rankings of power without having to use that power to hurt others. But that wasn't the case; at least, not with this Mage. Perhaps there was someone else like that, however.[break][break]
As a collective whole, emerging victorious Sol said. Verena let the words sink in. No. If there was a victory, it wouldn't be because of her. Nothing she could do here would bring them any victory, no sooner to any relief. She realized it the moment they stepped foot. Perhaps even sooner. She was dead weight. She was just extra baggage for the stronger Magic Knights to need to worry about.[break][break]
Lillith shared Verena's own uncertainty about Rae taking a path of separation from the group, something of a relief to her. She was worried that she would have gone off her own with Chisana. Thankfully it didn't seem like that was happening. Most importantly to the pacifist, the Purple Orca also seemed to be on the same wavelength about what to do with these monsters, encouraging them not to kill them. Instead, to subdue them. Was that even possible? Without warning, however, one of the mana beasts had simply fallen to the ground.[break][break]
It didn't seem dead, at least... so that was good.[break][break]
The captains, however, didn't seem to get the message in time. The Shadow of the Dawn unleashed a powerful spell that managed to strike its target dead. She couldn't exactly see it given the magic, but she was at least able to deduce that it was an incredibly powerful Spell. It would likely be capable of killing just about anything in one hit. He was a captain after all. It was only natural to assume a Spell as powerful as this would be capable of killing whatever it hit.[break][break]
Hot. It likely wasn't scalding, but given how on edge Verena was in the moment, that sensation combined with her nerves caused her to jump. Combined with breathing... it was him again. She had really hoped she wouldn't have stood out, but that was too much to hope for. Though she had stood out in a way that had annoyed the Archdaemon. It was even worse than she could possibly imagine. The sensation of breath and breathing--the brunette was far too scared to look behind her. If Sven was standing behind her, she didn't want to know. She'd rather just die quickly if that's how it was to happen.[break][break]
Sven began to explain just how wrong she truly was for thinking that. It seemed he misinterpreted her, but at this moment, she neither considered that as a possibility, nor voice it. Either mentally or out loud. Far be it for someone as weak as she was to correct someone like Sven. As he mentioned, there was a very real reason why Kikka was now his. It was precisely because of people trying to brute force their way through illusions, through his mind games. The world wasn't so black and white where one could just punch their way through all of their problems. That was one reason why the golem enthusiast sought alternative methods to using golems out of combat.[break][break]
...That was, until her training with Vaile Valentine and the Magic Knight in the Hallow's Nest, as well as with Jorah. They helped her grow, even if just a bit. It was the only reason she was here to begin with.[break][break]
But there was no level of training they could have done with her that could have prepared her for Kikka. Not with the time window that existed.[break][break]
Sven's lecture ended with words ringing through her head. Over and over and over to a near paralyzing effect. Dead? Dead. She could end up dead. The Archdaemon had just warned her personally that she could end up dead if let that train of thought consume her.[break][break]
She let out a gulp, slowly nodding her head, too paralyzed by fear to speak. Sven had made his point clear. The heiress was trembling in fear as the thing she didn't want the most to happen was just reinforced by an entity who could very easily make it happen at any time he pleased.[break][break]
"No."[break][break]
It was faint. It was incredibly faint. But she heard it. A little voice inside her head.[break][break]
"I signed up for this. I knew what I was getting into."[break][break]
Louder. This voice sounded so familiar, yet so different. It was confident. Not arrogant. Not afraid. It simply was assuring. Accepting.[break][break]
"I can't keep weighing everyone down."[break][break]
Ah. That's what it was. It was the voice of her resolve. Yes, this same resolve that was responsible for getting her down here to begin with. But she was here now, and she couldn't keep relying on the others. She was deathly afraid, as one in her position would be. But she couldn't keep succumbing to it. She had come here for a reason, and to betray that reason didn't do anyone any favors. It only weighed them down. And so...[break][break]
Verena grit her teeth and balled up her hands into a fist. She was terrified, and her entire body was shaking from her seat in the palm of her earth golem's hands. But she couldn't keep being afraid; she couldn't afford to. If she was paralyzed by fear at every opportunity, then she really would just be dead weight. However, as soon as she tried forcing the courage into her, she noticed the fallen human that Lillith had just dealt with. The ordinary human whom they'd managed to save the life of.[break][break]
Just like that, the life he knew had been ended. She was a realist enough to know there was no going back for him. Though the tragedy of the situation was outweighed by the horror in front of her eyes. The way the body contorted and writhed was something right out of fiction, yet was happening before her very eyes. Dark as it was, she knew something wasn't right.[break][break]
Forcing herself to analyze the situation despite her overwhelming fear, tightly gripping her arm as she always did when afraid, Verena needed a moment to think. She could tell this was much stronger--there were far stronger mana beasts near Zaven and Ard as well. It was impossible not to detect just how ridiculous those golems, and as much as she just wanted to scream, the Reinsberg took a deep breath, thinking about things thus far.[break][break]
They had been warned that Sven utilized illusions--something he reinforced the fact before. He was also clearly a Shadow user. His sensory was fierce, but the magic of this kind likely fell under some taboo aspect of transformation lost to humans, if it could be classified at all. If that was the case, then as long as there was something to transform, then it stood to reason he'd be able to do this ad nauseum. At the same time, not all of them were civilians. He was able to create mana beasts at will. It wasn't true golemancy, but for the sake of simplifying things for herself, it would be easier to think of it as such, flawed as it might have been.[break][break]
Verena wasn't able to gauge how much stronger these mana beasts were comparatively, but she knew they were stronger than she was, at least. Those hollowed eyes of pure white at least made it easier to identify in this darkness, but it would have been preferable if it wasn't there at all. It was a good thing she couldn't see the full details of the creature.[break][break]
A telepathic command was given to one of her golems to assess the strength--one of the wood golems--of this mana beast. Specifically, to engage it in a fight. This was given to the golem closest to it.[break][break]
"...Lillith, and uhm... you," Verena began to awkwardly say, realizing she didn't know the civilian's name, while keeping an eye as best as she could on the new threat. She was ready to issue new commands if she had to.[break][break]
"Do you think there's a point in even fighting these Mana Beasts? It's obvious it was Magic used to create them. We might only exhaust ourselves if we keep up at it at this rate..."[break][break]
There was still the matter of trying to find the Wells, too. That was one of their conditions for victory, too.

[attr="class","verenaver2scroll2"] TL;DR verena assumes zaven killed a boi, gets hella spooked by sven but manages to get herself out of it. tries to assesses the strength of the new mana beast by sending one of her wood golems to attack it. also asks her group their opinions on the futility of fighting these things. Description: Utilizing earthern mana, Verena constructs a bipedal golem made up of various types of rocks and stone. Various rocks protrude from it's forearms, knees, and from the back of it's head down it's back, akin to spikes... but if spikes were blunt, like incredibly small hills, no larger than a full grown man's leg, though each of these tend to differ in size. These rocks are placed over thicker and more durable rocks that function akin to an armor plating, but don't offer any defense beyond the normal body itself.[break][break]
A golem created via Gaia's Blessing's head is stretched out just a bit, giving it's forehead the impression of a hammer due to the bluntness in which it appears. Though it possess' decent strength as a result of it's size and build, the more devastating thing it can do is headbutts. Of course, it is still a Junior ranked golem, so it is incapable of dealing any truly devastating damage. These golems will usually stay near Verena, and rarely leave her side. She often uses them to ride upon.[break][break]
Verena is able to create one (1) golem per ten (10) control she has at once, maxing out at five. Due to Summoner, she gets an Earth affinity bonus (+1 Durability), in addition to her Puppet Master and Reinforced Golems perk.[break]

Description: Summoner Creation: Phaunus' Gift is made utilizing mana with Wood Affinity. The golem itself is incredibly simple in design. It's a humanoid golem made from wooden branches that have been smoothed out, and then banded together with more limber wood to hold it in place, like a wicker basket. The golem is incredibly basic and barebones in it's functionality, only punching and kicking to assail it's enemies. Still, due to it's simplicity, it is incredibly easy to control, and effective for most other tasks she may need them for.[break][break]

Civilians. They have murdered Civilians, whether they knew it or not it had happened. Chisana had gotten rid of bandits and criminals during missions because the clear line of who was right and wrong had been given, but in this situation, it was more grey and for a moment it messed with his mind. Though slowly he realized that the reason he wasn’t able to know about this occurrence was because he was to weak to see through the Daemon’s illusion just like with the traps that he had set off earlier. He had not trained enough to prepare himself for this situation and while he hadn’t come into this mission with the mindset of being magic-proof he had been confident in his ability to at least not slow down the others. After he had his moment of reflection for this turn of events, he realized that while there had been casualties of innocents he wasn’t going to allow his inability to see through the ploy to cause him to freeze up. They were in the middle of a battle and there were actual monsters in the mix so he couldn’t simply just give up that was what the daemon was obviously trying to have happen to the members of this group.[break][break]
Deciding to switch his way of fighting he decided he would use his Golems to restrain the beasts that they were able to and then use his own martial arts to knock out those within his ability. He noticed the ones that were actual beasts had re-animated themselves and seemed to give off a stronger mana signature then before, he was sure that they had somehow in some way gotten stronger. “Daemons, making things complicated. I’m not a wise individual, I’m hardly experienced enough to be allowed to make half the decisions that I have to make everyday in every mission, dungeon or task, but here I am and damnit all I can do is my best.” Chisana mumbled to himself as he ordered all his Int golems to pin one of two beasts that he could actually sense the boundaries of their strength which he would compare to the level of a Senior ranked mage. Once they had the beast pinned even though with every second that passed a pair of the Int golems would be destroyed, Chisana quickly moved into range and with two quick strikes he rendered the creature unconscious though he wasn’t sure how long that would last. So, he decided to keep his remaining four Int golems tasked with pinning the creature to the ground in case it were to awaken at least it wouldn’t be able to easily strike them. Hopefully it was the right move, and this beast was just an illusion and not just a mindless beast that he had wasted time with subduing. Looking across the way it seemed that the other groups had their own creatures to deal with, he just needed a sign that they were not just out here being forced to kill their own people. “Well one way or another if I have to knock out every creature I’ll throw as many golems at the problem as my mana will allow." [attr="class","zavenreescroll"] After watching the arrow to its job, and the illusion spell faded...Zaven was a little more than upset that he did not catch on that they were an illusion, but he could not focus on that at the moment. He did not know what else this daemon had planned, and as such he just looked at his companions. He could tell that this daemon had at least been irritated with them because when he let the illusion fade, there was also the dealing with the reanimated beasts. This was becoming a pain in the ass to deal with so, rather than to wait for anything to fire off a new fucking trap he ordered Achillies to run up and assault the newly reanimated beast. After the golem raced off Zaven looked around to try and take a quick survey of the damage, cool and collected he called out to the group. ”EVERYONE KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK! REGROUP ONCE THE CREATURES ARE DEALT WITH!” He called out to the group. Keeping it short and sweet as he saw the reanimated creature barrel towards the center, where he and Ardere were standing guard. They had to contend with this roadblock before moving forward.

Sol simply waved her off as Verena apologized for assuming he was stronger then he appeared. “ eh its not a big deal everyone makes mistakes don’t let it bother you” he stated as he focused on the task at hand which helped push the sickening smell of burning flesh out of his mind. While he kept his katana in hand one thing was starting to gnaw at him deep down, it was the fact that he was weak he may have had training but it still wasent enough he needed more and not just training he needed experience and magic power as well. ‘if I live thru this im upping my training immensely so ill never have this feeling again’ he thought to himself bitterly. In his mind he wondered if being born in a noble family played a part in this but he didn’t have anytime to mull it over as they were still dealing with many foes and the last thing he needed was to be distracted before them.
Hearing his partner and fellow civilian ask him if he thought that there was even a point to fighting the mana beasts since they were made with magic and they would only exhaust themselves if they kept expending energy to fend them off. “my Name is Sol and even though they are made from magic they can still physically hit and potentially kill us so we cant just ignore them, that being said if we had a way to down multiple of them at once it would make our tasks much easier” he stated as he heard rapid foot steps approaching before he suddenly saw a new mana beast lunge from the shadows at him. Acting quickly Sol twisted his body as he slashed at the beasts left limb and belly region as he narrowly avoided getting slashed by the beast. As he moved back to position Sol gave his blade a simple yet powerful flick to remove any possible blood or fluids on the blade as he settled into a stance. The mans eyes were ice cold and caculating as they focused the best they could on what was around him. “no matter how many they send at us don’t hesitate our foes wont do the same” Sol said to Verena as he looked where the beast had landed he hadn’t aimed for a killing blow only aiming to deliver a disabling gash. As he considered that he didn’t know what these deamons were completely capable of he didn’t aim to kill right away.

[attr="class","ardereescroll"]Burning flesh. The scent pierced Ardere's nostrils like a dagger into his skull. This was a smell he recognized all too well, one he had unfortunately become acquainted with not only due to the nature of his magic, but his extensive war service. Perhaps his finely tuned senses assisted in this, or maybe this was meant for him to sense. Smoke and cinder billowed closer to the center of town, at least that was his best guess. Salamander stirred with ferocity and anger inside him, an emotion the Captain had yet to experience from his older companion. I feel it too, partner. He muttered to himself. A enormously powerful feeling for him to break away from the group was beginning to eat away at his soul, even if the idea itself was horrendous--he couldn't help it. His Superman complex was beginning to get the better of him, but he had a duty to this squad he found himself working with. He couldn't let them down, but he also had a duty to the people of this Kingdom. Today for the first time in what seemed like years, Ardere felt the weight of being a Captain start to bear down on him. [break][break] Ardere burst into laughter for a moment, genuine laughter. I might have a bigger physique like a boar or large monkey, but I assure you my intelligence nor my willpower is anywhere comparable. The fact of the matter is, Sven; you've never encountered an opponent like me before. I'm going to rip down all of your illusions one by one and there's nothing you can do to stop me. I think that scares you. The Crimson King's aura billowed around his form like an uncontrollable wildfire, sheer rage and will burning through his eyes enough to be seen by anyone looking. He was angry, offended, tickled, and confident all at the same time. Admittedly, fear was buried deep down in there. Fear that Sven was going to take away his comrades one by one, or even his own mental sanity. Whether or not the Daemon died today was not in question, it's what they would lose that was. That most certainly struck fear into the depths of his burning heart, but it did not mean he'd ever show it. This was a battle of will and wits, one he did not aim to lose. [break][break] Alright, new plan! Everyone get your asses over to me and group up! Ardere shouted at the top of his lungs, retracting his blade close to his form. His muscles pulsed with adrenaline and conviction as he awaited responses from the others. There's burning flesh up above, closer to the center of town. We need to move forward and try to save as many as we can. As for the mana beasts, we can't trust that they even are beasts anymore. We need to go on the defensive, try to knock them our or restrain them. Hell, keep running away from them if you have two. We have two objectives; save civilians and get to Sven. Right now we need to keep moving. I'll try to help keep the beasts at bay, but we need to minimize collateral here. Otherwise why did we come? Summoning forth a massive sword of healing flame, he waited for the others to group up before activating the spell. Hinokami's Sword Dance! A dome formed around the group in a twenty meter area to protect them from the mana beasts. Around the dome his swords orbited, waiting to strike anything that came close to it. If they touched the dome itself, it was massive damage. This will heal any of your wounds and give us a chance to get moving, but it won't hold them for long. We need to move forward. Glaring out into the city, his teeth began to grind. And you Sven, you are most certainly a coward. I'll prove it.

But the inside of dome itself provides protection, as anyone who touches the outside of it will instantly receive 3rd or 4th degree burns.

There was no such thing as a perfect person. As kind, humble, and gentle as a certain azure deer could seem, he had a enough willpower and pride to follow his own calling above what their family had considered the right choice in life. Disobeying that had meant loosing that family, breaking ties with the only people Cobborn was close to up to that point. Though their colors were soft as a peach, there was a spine in their personality that allowed him to make hard choices without looking back in regret. Once a choice is made, that's it. The young man knew he wasn't the best, but the pink eyed person learned from every step. It didn't matter if they were right or wrong so long as it was learned from so they could make their best path. Nothing was paved out for Joseph, but that was one of the reasons he knew this was the right thing to do. His life wasn't about certainty, nor knowing what tomorrow would bring. This was why he tried his best to plan things out and be flexible. No amount of planning can prepare someone for everything, raque and been a good lesson in that. Around two months ago he had been assigned to go to that city by a higher up in his squad. Naxel had been as well, but the event must have broken that mans mind. That wasn't something the junior would have even tried to predict as a joke and yet this was reality.
Their side had won, but it was a little haunting just how many had been lost. There was a wish that more could be saved at that time, but what was done couldn't be undone. The event was already a few steps behind him, though its voice would haunt the mind at times. It was only in dreams, the bloody corpses of the lost. The fates hadn't even let him believe that Raque was the first time a corpse or death had been seen by their own eyes for all that long either. Such things were not his wishes to be the very first recovered memories of his mother. It was like finally seeing the woman hadn't been a fever dream the world had imagined, but at the very end. Do you want to see the sunset at its finest moments, or at the end as it all fades away? Stings from it had told the young man that at some point he had deeply loved her and somewhere those emotions still existed. For some reason there never seemed time to look into that, or perhaps it was something purposely pushed off in lieu of other things. It was easy to ignore the things inside because of their silence. Everything else had sounds to follow, things to do. Such things aren't much a shock if one knew of his first day being an azure deer. When told of the especially dangerous missions that could give grand rewards? Joseph hoped those days didn't come rather than anything else.
Joseph was still a person who wanted to do his best to help others. This was one of the reasons he didn't ever question it when given a vague mission to go to Raque. There was no complaints or regrets, even while steeped in fear, surrounded by corpses, and wet from the vomit of others that had mixed in the waters. The closest to a complaint was the yearning desire to be able to do more to help others, though it made sense that a junior could only do so much. It was more than nothing though, even when his map had been made temporarily unusable by the deamon. Working around limitations had been all his life that could be remembered, so this wasn't anything new. What years that couldn't be remembered didn't matter, outside that it silenced him inside. His fathers family name was Cobborn, a name that belonged to multiple commoner families. Where nobility ended up with unique and extravagant surnames, the last name of a commoner typically had to do with the work family did a long time ago, or the area they hailed from. This meant you didn't need to be related in order to share a last name as a commoner. The way he dressed when first joining the azure deers had reflected a common way for those in his fathers family to. People who worked in music only, there was no money making from violence allowed in the family.
This was why the peachy person had been cut out of the family. His mothers original name as well as family was still as elusive as ever, no new clues for him. If only the boy realized that those best at hiding such things tended to be nobility, but that had never even been considered. Her original name had been Yaling Shengxiao before taking on her stage name 'burning sunset'. When married, she took the name that Joseph had known her as Janine Cobborn. She hadn't told anyone in her family about her son because she wanted to confirm he would remain sturdy and healthy first. The woman didn't live long enough for that and unknown to Joseph, his family never wanted them to find out. The original reason was to have the boy never leave their family nor look down on it, but it wasn't even revealed after they had cut him out. So why was he here on this day heading towards Kikka? The very man that had wished for dark times to not come again for a long time. Perhaps its because it was so unwanted, but he had only signed up after the group had been picked. For some reason or another, he had been allowed to exist as a reserve, someone to arrive if alerted. Their peachy orange hair shimmered a pale yellow when there was light, but here? There was only the deep peach orange color coating each strand, not a shred of light bouncing off in sight.
As someone entering after the first two groups, he had the disadvantage of entering alone. He was going to meet up with the first group, but thankfully one of the people listed as being in team one was someone he had met before. That would make contacting them and heading into that direction less awkward and possibly dangerous. It was already enough to fear the deamons, the junior didn't want to add the very group he was going to meet up with as something to fear. This was a terrifying situation to walk in, especially since he had already seen first hand how dangerous a deamon could be. The ones here must be more dangerous than the one at Raque had been, or smarter and trickier. On his back was a certain peach wood spear, the gloves mostly hidden by their long sleeves, and greaves mostly hidden by his pants. First things first, it would be hard to communicate with Chisana if he didn't even know where the other was inside. Fingers moved quickly and quietly, signing the name of his spell 'ecolocation', before bits of carbon matter appeared, hovering near the skin. He started signing a different spell as soon as the tapping changed into a tune, their walking speed changing to more of a rush. Pale pink eyes glanced about the dark surroundings, feeling more than a bit bothered by how much harder it was to see here.
Such a thing make sense in a location that had been taken by deamons, but it still made the mind worry. ~Shortwave Telecommunication~ The young man didn't know what was going on inside yet, nor would it make much sense if Joseph did. The fears and uncertainties, nor knowing how very small he was didn't falter their actions. Gloved fingers reached to the coal singing bowl. One must have appeared near the other at this point, so it was important to not waste any time. “Chisana? This is Joseph Cobborn, an Azure Deer junior you met a bit over half a year ago. I don't know if you remember me, but I called you because you were the only person on the list that I know. I was one of the people listed on standby and was told a moment ago to enter and join your group. I wanted to make sure that I'd be expected. Is there anything I should know about what's going on before I arrive at the groups location?”

The talk of her brothers. It made her pause again. They were assholes. Scum of the world and not even her blood, but…”You’re right. Without them I wouldn’t be where I am. There’s good and bad sides to every story, Isn’t there oh demon lord?” There was a joking manner in her tone. Without her brothers, she’d have probably grown up to a loving mother in the Witches Forest, learned magic there and would consider herself a witch. Yet, despite her heritage, the woman had grown up in the very human Kikka. Here, where all of this chaos was currently being sown. Twister humor ran on her lips as she tilted her head and chuckled to herself. “Ah, home.” She murmured. A wrecked, ruined place, exactly how it had always been for her. Home. The word didn’t have meaning to her. Not before the Bulls anyways. Perhaps the chaos and the darkness were more a friend to her than she initially wanted it to be. She was the Lawful one, the one that followed rules, the one that obeyed and gritted her teeth…But all of her best decisions had be on whim. Dammit. [break][break] Rosalia couldn’t help but scratch the back of her head when Sven assumed what her and Malcolm did in their free time. He was her Captain, and she was his subordinate. Out of that they were easily best friends. It’s a relationship developed over months of working together nearly daily, helping out with reports, talking, training…well, the last activity Chisana had her beat in. Ugh god, Malcolm Watanabe. She didn’t have the time to think about her gorgeous Captain right now. The whispers from Sven…the witch didn’t find necessary to answer right now. She had to remain focused. Yet, Rosalia found herself squinting and a sigh left her lips before she called back down to the Blake.
“Oi, Zaven, whatever illusion magic this is, it’s fucking over my light of sight when I’m up here. He won’t let us see what’s around.” Her voice came up as a growl, like a wail of icy wind as she processed this information. “He’s likely funnelling us.” [break][break] The mage could only hiss to herself, a sharp release of a cold breath around her that would become visible as her element slipped a little into the air and made it cool significantly. This place was truly a dark ruin. [break][break] Yet, she didn’t want to stick too close to the others, she wanted to cover more ground, but not split too far from the others. Fuck. A difficult thing to make happen. The witch had to squint to even see down to where the others were and she rubbed her temples. A horrible sound caught her ears, one of breaking bones as and as she moved closer to the edge she saw human bodies. Dead ones, transforming into dark puss-filled monstrosities. [break][break] “Oh you’ve gotta be fucking kidding me.” A groan left her lips. Then Ardere’s orders reached her pale ears and made her shake her head. Oh god they were definitely getting funnelled. She fucking hated train rides. There were obvious benefits to sticking together, but there were obvious downsides to it as well. Fuck, fuck, fuck… fine. If the Crimson Lion wanted them close, she’d follow his fucking orders. [break][break] “Oi Zaven, catch.” Taking her second whip out, the woman infused it with her mana, and cracked at over at the Black-haired Blake. It would wrap around the wrist of the Golden Dawn’s Captain and the ice witch would pull herself over to him through the air, her original whip would remain active in her other hand, but she decided not to try being risky or flashy. After a quick pull she’d find herself face to face with the attractive male, and raise her eyebrows in amusement at him. Rosalia gave him a quick wink before pulling away, unwrapping her whip from his grasp and turning to face the larger enemy that she and Chisana were dealing with…as well as the daemonic humans. She’d follow Ardere’s command, but not before throwing a two lashes from Frostbite out at the nearby enemies. [break][break]

The brunette was quite grateful that Sol didn't take her comment with offense; though she meant no harm by it, there was no way that it had come off as insulting with the revelation that it came with. It made her feel a bit more at ease, though she was also admittedly still worried. After all, everyone needed to work together. It would go against her best interests to even insinuate something belittling.[break][break]
Sol... that was his name. Verena would need to remember that. The Blood Mage made a point, however. They couldn't simply be ignored. It wasn't as if either of these mages were strong enough to actually capable of dealing with Mana Beasts like this by themselves. There was little choice in the matter but to simply fight them off. At the very least, it would make things easier for the likes of Rosalia, Ardere and Zaven. That in of itself was reason to fight them off. She couldn't dispute that.[break][break]
Now, however, there was an issue...[break][break]
Lilith was had disappeared.[break][break]
Verena didn't quite know what had happened. So far, Lillith had been communicating with her (and, presumably Sol as well) on their next moves. She even had removed her Spell so that Verena could see her. However, she just disappeared. There was a part of her that went into full on anxiety, and why wouldn't she? This was absolutely terrifying. Sven had just threatened her with death a moment ago, and in the next instant the Purple Orca who was watching over Sol and her had disappeared. This was absolutely horrifying. Even if she had used her disappearing spell again, she was still capable of telepathic communication, wasn't she?[break][break]
In one instant, she was here, and in the next, she was gone.[break][break]
"Captain Ardere! Captain Zaven!" she shouted, panic in her words. "Lilith... she's just up and vanished. She was just here a second ago, but now she's gone...!"[break][break]
Verena couldn't give any more focus on that now, however. At the very least, she was able convey that message to the captains. That was important. There was still this mana beast to have to take care of. Sven had confirmed it, but there was a very good reason why Sol was using a sword instead of Magic. This meant that it might be a bit more difficult for her partner to actually safely approach this mana beast. In that sense, it was only natural to use Phaunus as a decoy to allow the youth to attack.[break][break]
The golem was positioned in a way to block Sol from the inhuman's range of sight. Due to the size of the golem, that was more than possible compared to Sol. Of course, if the beast was capable of Sensory, that wasn't likely to happen. If it was, however--that was beyond Verena's knowledge, and so given this was a plan thought up on the fly, it was the best she could do.[break][break]
The Mana Beast swerved right, avoiding the punch from Verena's golem; however it wasn't able to get away from Sol's blade, managing to land a cut that would cause pain to the arm of the beast, followed up with an impressive slash to the belly of the beast, causing it to drop to a knee This was followed up with Verena using the other arm of her golem to pin the beast down to the ground--it was with enough impact where it could have knocked it out as well, given the previous injuries. In addition, Verena ordered the golem to keep its arm pressured on the mana beast. She assumed its own weight would be enough to restrain it for the time being.[break][break]
It might have been excessive, but as Sol said; the enemy had no reason to give them a break. And hopefully, that would be one less mana beast to have to deal with in the future of this battle. She only hoped that there was a way to return this poor soul back to human, if it had been truly transformed to begin with.[break][break]
The Golden Dawn and Crimson Lion's captains gave similar orders--to regroup once they had dealt with their respective mana beasts. But Verena knew that the most powerful mana beasts were still around, the latter Captain nearly deafening her in the process. She might not have specialized in sensory, but signatures like these were impossible to miss. Would she really be safe being near them? The Reinsberg heir internally sighed. Admittedly it was far better than being alone, and the group was going to have to regain its proper form eventually. However, her earth golem was one: likely too slow, and second: too big. Phaunus would be her best bet for transportation in that case. It was faster than her earth golem, too, so she ordered her second wood golem to her side, dispersing of the earth golem.[break][break]
It would at least be easier on her mana pool. She could tell she only had about half left. Once they got far enough, the brunette had every intention of dispersing the wood golem that was pinning down the other mana beast. For now, Verena felt it was just in her best interest to use the weight of the golem to pin it down with its arm.[break][break]
The crimson eyed woman made sure to stay back; close enough to the group where she wouldn't lag behind, but (hopefully) far enough to avoid the attention of the clearly more powerful mana beasts. She was being held in the palm of the wood golem's hand--it wasn't exactly comfortable, but it would have to do. It was at least more comfortable compared to her Gaia golem.[break][break]
The Black Bulls Vice Captain had pulled up to the group now, seemingly descending from the shadows themself as she appeared right beside Zaven. Now it was just a matter of moving forward when there were two incredibly powerful mana beasts like this around. Would things really be okay though?

[attr="class","verenaver2scroll2"] TL;DR verena uses her golem as a distraction and to hide sol from the mana beast so he can land the two cuts. after its injured, verena uses her golem to strike the mana beast and knock it unconscious (two junior hits on an intermediate?), while also using that arm to keep the mana beast immobile. she worries about lilith not being around but doesn't have a chance to dwell on it. she goes to ardere, positioning herself in the back--far enough to where she wouldn't get in the way of ardere and zaven and the archmage/grand mana beast. she also dispersed her earth golem meaning her mana drain goes from 15 to 10 with two wood golems. [break][break]
This Perk allows your Golems to start with a bonus of +3 to its Durability, Power, and Sensory Stats. At Grand Rank this bonus increases to +5. If this Perk is applied to a Balanced Golem these bonuses increase to +5 and +10 instead.

Verena is able to create one (1) golem per ten (10) control she has at once, maxing at five.

Sol was so focused his area around himself that he could see that the moment that when he heard Arderes voice call out loudly he actually rather surprised, considering how the situation was developing the dark haired mage didn’t blame the Captain for changing up the plan. He quickly headed towards where Arderes voice called out but he made sure to stay rather close to Verena so she wasn’t a sitting duck. Sol had gathered that she used golems more then straight offensive magic but golems did nothing if she was constantly under attack and unable to focus so Sol would watch her back and try to keep foes of here while they got over to the captains. “hey partner you holding up ok over there?” he asked Verena wanting to make sure she wasn’t exhausted or dealing with any particular injuries.
Though Sol wouldn’t see the injuries if she had any due to the darkness that was surrounding them. It really put them at a severe disadvantage, as he heard the crimson lions captain mention that there were burning bodies up ahead Sol groaned as he felt his stomach twist again at the thought. “great so that’s what that smell is and its going to get worse “ he mumbled to himself as he got to the group as Ardere formed a dome around them. As the fiery captain called Sven a coward Sol had to admit that he seemed to be doing rather well In keeping them occupied. ‘he is rather skilled and his moves seem rather meticulous yet he knows just how to mess with us if he wasent an enemy I wonder if he would be a good opponent in chess' he thought to himself for a moment before he shook the thought away since it didn’t matter now they had to take this demon down and that was all there was to it.
Chisana kept his eye on the Senior Beast he had restrained because he was constantly making sure it was knocked out and that his 4 Int golems were still holding it down. He didn’t have any way of knowing if this was an actual creature he could just put out of it’s misery or if this was some illusion that would cause him to inadvertently kill some poor civilian, the most he could do was quickly knock them out if they awoke and as long as something crazy didn’t happen that would boost the creature’s strength there shouldn’t be a reason why he isn’t able to continue this plan till given guidance later. Chisana heard the Captains call for the group to regather together and that they would keep from splitting up again or at least for now that was. Strength in numbers was a real thing but so was the almost impossible to see through illusions and traps that were probably scattered throughout the city and most definitely on the path towards the boss of the daemons. [break][break]
Chisana ordered his Int golems to move the beast to a place that was closer to the group and returned himself back in the gathered area. He also went ahead and had his 10 JR golems move from a spread-out straight line to a circle formation around the gathered group spread out 20 meters from the group and 10 meters from one another. They were simply tasked with protecting the group from any approaching creatures that were deemed a threat, Chisana had also given them the instruction to go for a knock out blow if possible but they were JR golems so he really only expected them to be destroyed. It was more like a real-time alarm if anything. He also got a sudden communication from joseph, a mage he had met in the past. They had exchanged information and the pink eyed mage had helped Chisana during his stay. “Hey boss, information I can give? There are a lot of illusions and traps, we are fighting beasts that could also be brainwashed citizens and have gathered just past the city gates, trust me you will see us. We can update you more when you get here.”[break][break]

[attr="class","zavenreescroll"] Seeing that the fight was still ongoing and hearing Ardere yell while getting fired up, Zaven was about to sigh when Rosalia called out to him and gave him a report. The next moment she called out to him and swung a whip down and latched onto his wrist before proceeding to jump and land right beside Zaven. The light flirting was received and Zaven just gave a slight smile and wink. ”Alright, let’s finish this up. If you have your creatures restrained. Let me or Ardere have a look over them before we put them down. Ardere, the big one is all yours...Shadow Reinforcement magic, Shadow Armament.” He would say calmly before his grimoire opened to the page, the shadows gathered around his wrists and became solid before he rushed off to join Achilies. His golem had pinned the grand ranked beast to a wall and with it knocked out Zaven ordered it to assist Ardere in tackling the last mana beast, ordering it not to kill the mana beast. Zaven first examined the grand mana beast before making the final judgement that it was just that...a beast. With the shadow armament enhancing his strength he finished the creature with a swift punch where its head was, ending its miserable existence. Then he would quickly move to Chisana and Rosalia’s creature before looking it over. He could not see past any illusion if one was placed upon it. So he finished it with the same move before looking up at the two Black Bulls. ”Things are...not as they seem with the creatures here I think. We must be careful moving forward. Regroup with Ardere you two and I will get the others.” He would say with a smile before dashing off to the last station where the last beast was. As long as it was still caught he would make sure to look it over before deciding there was nothing out of the ordinary for the mana beast and he would end its life just like the others. Once done he looked at the two that were still waiting where he had asked them to go before, unable to feel another presence… [break][break]
”I do not know where the other one went but it is time we regroup with the others, stay close to me.” Zaven said without much of a second thought before seeing a member of the Azure deer arrive. ” You there...get your ass over here before you become food.” Zaven would say before bringing the group back together, hopefully Ardere had made use of the golem and had finished the job so that way they could move on. He knew there were innocent lives lost, but he could not dwell on what had happened...when it came to the safety of his team, anyone that looked like an enemy and acted like an enemy was an enemy...he hoped they would understand.

[attr="class","ardereescroll"]Shit. Ardere muttered beneath his white teeth, narrow amber eyes focused on nothing other than those around him. Lilith had disappeared, nowhere to be seen. What concerned the Captain was if that happened to the rest of the group. They were in danger. Keeping up his Ki concentration, he had taken a bit of a hit to his speed--fortunately he was naturally faster than most. Alright everyone, stay in my dome. We need to get our asses towards the flames ahead. Their Ki. This was the one thing the fire mage kept his senses focused on, like a hawk protecting its chicks. Letting one of them disappear again was not an option. They had to stay together, lest risk splintering the group and method elimination by their opponent. Sven was intelligent. He himself might not have the prowess alone to take on their group, but infection the entire town with his corruption and his minions increased his strength tenfold. This is what Malacath had failed to do in the Capital, yet here and now one of his comrades possessed enough strength to keep them at bay. Ardere could not allow that to last. [break][break] It was a gamble, taking on the Archmage Daemon. Was it an illusion? This was the only one he could not utilize his Ki to see through, but he could use his intellect. Being of such a high rank, there was no way this was some citizen. It took too much mana to create something like this, and so far it seemed real enough. Therefore he had no choice but to try and stop it. Achilles, let's take this thing down! Making quick use of the golem that had been sent his way, the large construct dove in to tackle and grab the large beast, bearing its muscles down upon it to deal serious crushing damage. Swiftly location all the openings where he could pierce the Daemon without harming Achilles, Ardere sent all four of his swords towards the Daemon to stab right through like a Magician's box. Ideally it would be easy enough to take it out, but nonetheless he had to start moving forward. Waiting for everyone to enter his dome, they needed to go. Let's get moving. I can attack the beasts as they come. We just need to get moving NOW! Shouting to the others, his brow was furrowed. The anger was not directed at them, but at the darkness engulfing Kikka. Once they were all within the range of his dome, his legs began to move. [break][break] Ardere's mind couldn't break free from the thoughts of burning flesh up ahead. What exactly lay in wait for them? Was it truly cultists burning to death, or civilians? Perhaps both. That was what struck fear into his heart; the uncertainty. But surrounded by powerful comrades a feeling of determination overwhelmed that fear. I'm coming for you Sven. I hope you're ready. He muttered to himself, knowing the Daemon would likely hear it. This was a battle of attrition that he did not intend to lose. The Crimson King couldn't afford to.
